I have an idea if you make a pjo godly parent quiz- make it really hard/rare to get one of the big three! there’s always too many people who get Poseidon on the quizzes I’ve taken like where are all the Hermes kids…
I already intend to do this! I have a similar pet peeve, so I already incorporate that kind of weighted system into stuff like my random PJO oc generator, or I have a google form quiz where I will manually assign godly parents based on the results and I usually try to reserve big 3 kids a bit but honestly I don't usually even need to. Cause there is usually a different god who fits better which makes sense when you think about it.
Like, it's fandom. More specifically, it's a BOOK fandom. Of course the fandom is gonna be mostly Athena and Apollo and Hermes and maybe Dionysus kids. That basically just covers all the arts and an interest in books/mythology/history. One would expect the fandom to have disproportionately arts-and-literature-related godly parent assignments.

Demigods: how well they would do as a guest judge on Drag Race
Godrick: Thinks he knows where it's at but doesn't. Nobody is having a good time.
Godwyn: Just kind of boring. Thinks he can reclaim but can't.
Ranni: Oh, she knows what she's doing here. Sits very prim and quiet, only to deliver something savage. Understands the importance of memorable accessories.
Radahn: Like Ranni, he knows how to accessorise, but he's way too obnoxious.
Rykard: Unhinged, but understands the value of presentation. Flawless understanding of aesthetic, unfortunately the aesthetic involves eating people. I don't think the contestants are safe. Or the other judges.
Morgott: Catholic guilt. Bad. Bad at it. I don't think he'd even show up as a judge, he's too busy praying on his knees in the nearest church. Without a prayer cushion.
Mohg: Slays. In both senses of the word. This is a man who knows performance, knows fashion, knows presentation, knows how to leave an impression. He. Knows. What. He. Is. Talking. About.
Malenia: Doesn't really *get it*, but does at least have an appreciation of dancing and athletics. She has unrealistic expectations for how fast a person can vogue. We aren't all as fast as you, Malenia!
Miquella: Actually does okay as a judge. Not as good as he *thinks* he does, but not bad either.
Messmer: That cloak? Those boots? Those snakes? That presentation? Look at that man and tell me he wouldn't understand what makes a good drag show. Unfortunately he's homophobic.

The only reason some “kid’s books” are called kid’s books is cause the trauma the twelve year old went through is never properly addressed.

This is going to sound negative, but I think Snuff deserves to be the last Discworld book. I mean, Raising Steam is good in certain ways, a fond elegy to the characters and plots a reader has come to know so well. I don't even object to the visceral pleasure of the earlier novels giving way to something diffuse, harder to pin down. (Unseen Academicals felt like this---a wonderful novel, but not actually a victory; just a plot that rearranged matters in an interesting way.) But there's a sort of...ill magic setting in, by the time you get to the scene where Vetinari gives medals to our wonderful shining heroes of the railway.
Namely, they're too good at this.
Vimes uses the Summoning Dark multiple times, and without even the terrified self-doubt he was showing in Snuff. (I have other issues with Snuff, but that was an interesting thread to pull.) Vetinari not-too-discretely points the Black Clerks at a problem, and it is solved; when necessary, he goes undercover working on something he personally considers vaguely distasteful, and yet becomes the center of a folk song. Moist neither sleeps, nor eats nor makes love to his wife (except sometimes, too rarely in his opinion) but rushes all over doing the railways' job for---what? for why?
They're too good, they've climbed too high; Vimes and Vetinari are edging into myth while still being alive, and Moist was already half of a song anyway, has been since he put on the golden suit.
I'm not saying it's not an interesting setup, because strangely it is. But it feels like the start of something, not closure at all, because what else is Discworld good for if not to tackle the fact that everything glowy and laden with awe will not remain such. Because, you know, that's how the world works.

I find it so hilarious how no one in Camp Jupiter takes Octavian and his predictions seriously (even when the books says they do)
Oh, you say Greek gods exist? That they have children too? What's this about a camp? Don't be silly Octavian of course they don't
Sybillyne books? No they are a myth. Like an actual myth. No that harpy didn't memorise them before they burned down. Harpies can only cook and clean, everyone knows that.
Look Octavian, we're at war. Tensions are already high. We don’t need you to sow even more with your insistence on Titan army sneaking into camp and sabotaging weapons. Yes yes, you got stabbed by Saturn's general before, when you were right, that sucks— please shut up now

I keep thinking about making a post about the horrors of Loop suddenly having to be able to adapt to knowledge beyond their understanding being put upon them. Being able to see beyond their own eyes, suddenly know things they shouldn't, and yet still not being able to know the very thing that will able to get Siffrin and them out of the loops.
And then a neon glowing sign with a blinking arrow points to me saying, "YOU WOULD SAY THAT YOU TMA FAN!!!!"

"In some other world, one not unlike that depicted in idyllic paintings scattered among Lands Between, a demigod and his Tarnished champion conspire their own ending to the tale of the shattered Elden Ring."
my Tarnished would have 100% been Radahn's strongest solider if the latter had survived the Festival and the scarlet rot.

This post is (almost) spoiler free from the Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree story details.
One minor Miquella reveal down below.
So, now that with the DLC we've finally learned that Miquella is basically twink sized Griffith, I've started to reflect on Malenia and Miquella's upbringing, and how different it was from that of the other Demigods.
Because like, other Demigods had it rough, sure, but at least each and every one of them had a somewhat competent parent that allowed them to have... less childhood problems than others? Does that even make any sense? Even when Godfrey and Rennala were also incredibly flawed parents?
Regardless of how you would measure childhood trauma and the issues that come with being raised by a giant mushroom, think about it:
Godwyn was raised by Godfrey and Marika, who, despite the fact that there's zero evidence present in the game for it, I believe wasn't at her worst yet, at least not at this point of the story;
Mohg and Morgott were raised by the sewers Omens and, at times, by Godfrey himself, if that one interaction with Morgott before his Boss fight is anything to go by;
Radahn, Ranni and Rykard were raised by Rennala and Radagon; I always found it very interesting how two out of the three siblings of this house were backstabbing traitors while the other venerated Godfrey; I'm not too sure about Rennala's parenting skills but to me it seems very clear that Radagon was the more influential parent figure out of the two, even if in a very negative manner.
And lastly, we have Malenia and Miquella, raised by Marika/Radagon.
I always found it pretty curious the fact that out of all of the Demigods, Malenia and Miquella are the ones whose childhood we know the least.
Compared to the other Demigods, what do we know about them? Malenia had a sword teacher, and that's pretty much it.
And while this lack of information can be attributed to the "Radagon is Marika" plot twist later on in the game, I believe it's more than that: seriously, how can anyone imagine what Malenia's and Miquella's childhood was like?
THEIR MOTHER AND FATHER WERE THE EXACT SAME PERSON. AND NEITHER OF THEM WAS GOOD AT PARENTING OR DECENT AS AN INDIVIDUAL.
God do I love my messed up little siblings.
Also I love how their parallels with the Omen twins are now unavoidable and how now we almost view Mohg in the same way we used to see Miquella.

PJO x DC concept: Lantern Corps Demigod(s)
Disclaimer: I haven’t actually read any GL comics so everything I know comes from fanfics and various other sources (Google)
We know that the human GLs tend to have some sort of engineering background, which is why they got the hang of the ring’s constructs pretty quickly. So think about a child of Hephaestus or Athena with a Lantern ring. They’d go feral to have the ability to create stuff with a single thought.
I also just think it’s kind of funny (especially with other kids). Humans can come across as feral to most aliens, and demigods (mostly Greek) are even more so. I can see the GLs (or JL/TT/YJ if the demigod is on a team) being sent in a diplomatic mission that somehow fails and they get dropped into a death tournament. The demigod is absolutely willing to fight tooth and nail, even without weapons. They are taking off fingers (ooh carrot mentality) and tearing skin from muscle and bone. With their prior training (and maybe war experience) they’re wrenching joints from sockets and placing their opponent(s) into submission locks, barely even breaking a sweat.
I think if every demigod got a ring, most of them would have green. All of them qualify for green. The will power it takes to fight and survive as long as they have. That’s a lot. Will to live is such a defining part of many of our canon characters.
Getting more specific:
Percy could possibly have blue (and not just because it’s his favorite color). Blue symbolizes hope. His refusal to release Elpis—hope—to signal surrender is a huge moment in his development in “The Last Olympian”. He could potentially qualify for indigo which symbolizes compassion. He doesn’t kill Iapetus after the Titan’s swim in the Lethe in “Sword of Hades”, instead renaming him Bob and getting him a (relatively) honest job in Hades’ palace. He befriends Damasen in Tartarus. And the pain he feels when he has to leave them behind is tangible.
Annabeth could be orange—greed. Her desire to build a new world is a prideful, almost greedy aspiration. She tries not to let it control her, so perhaps it’s not the best match, but it’s an option. I think she is more apt for green. The will to not let her pride control her (especially after meeting Percy), he will to pursue her dream and become an architect to build a new world is very admirable.
Will I think could qualify for both black—death—and white—life. He canonically has affinity for Apollo’s domains of both healing and plague, so it’s not that far fetched. He could also be indigo. I imagine healing accident prone demigods over and over again takes a lot of compassion.
Nico has the obvious of black, but I think it would be ironic if he had a white ring. The black ring comes from being the son of the god of the dead, but I think that just puts life into perspective for him better than most. He knows the ins and outs of death to the point that he knows that life is sacred and something everyone should get to experience. And think he’d have the opposite of Will’s ring if they had them at the same time, like a yin yang. Nico could also be red, rage, for the fact that his fatal flaw is holding grudges. He holds his anger for months between “The Titan’s Curse” and “The Battle of the Labyrinth” until he finally gets to speak to Bianca and get “permission” to let go. Indigo is yet another option due to his actions of bringing Hazel back to the living world. (If I recall correctly, he was originally looking for Bianca, to offer another chance at life to her, but stumbled on Hazel when he couldn’t find Bianca).
Clarisse is most likely red. Rage is a big part of the Ares kids, and Clarisse is often always angry. She could also be violet—love—or indigo for her acts regarding Chris and Selena.
Rapid fire! With no context and in no particular order:
Piper: red, green, blue
Leo: yellow (fear), indigo, blue
Jason: yellow, blue
Frank: indigo, green
Reyna: green, indigo
Thalia: white, blue
Chiron: green, indigo, blue, violet
Sally: violet, indigo, blue
Feel free to add on!
