TC "himself:" Hot corned beef, pastrami and Swiss on rye

Benny the Ball: Smoked ham and smoked turkey breast with Cheddar on Kaiser roll

Choo-Choo: Roast beef and Cheddar on brioche

Fancy-Fancy: Smoked beef and smoked ham with Swiss on sourdough

Brain: Liverwurst on whole wheat

Spook: Smoked ham and Cheddar on Jewish rye

The Heights Deli & Bottle Shop, 2135 N San Fernando Rd, Los Angeles (Glassell Park), CA 90065

This is the 2nd location of a popular deli (the original location is in Lincoln Heights). They have hot and cold sandwiches (made with Boar’s Head cold cuts), appetizers, pizza, and pastas. Order online ahead of time or be prepared to wait. The prices are the same online and in person. If you order there, you’ll get a number and they’ll call your number when your food is ready. They have a takeout window.

Pastrami sandwich ($12.50): Served warm, the sandwich had pastrami, sauerkraut, shredded iceberg lettuce, tomato, pickle, Russian dressing, Swiss served on a white roll. The sandwich was good but not amazing. The toasted white roll wasn’t too bready but it did get soggy. It was like a sub sandwich roll. The pastrami wasn’t special. The veggies were fresh but standard. The sandwich was 10 inches by 3 inches.

It’s a small place with one bench outside and a few parking spaces out front. They do have a large selection of craft beers inside, as well as wine, hard kombucha, non-alcoholic kombucha, soda, and more. The credit card minimum is $5.

Mmmm. There's nothing like a well made sandwich. Different types of bread and many dressings to smear all over while lacing it with your favorite deli meat and cheeses. THE CHEESES!! *Sigh* Jason's Catering has me drooling. This assortment has Rustic Ciabatta, Pumpernickel, Tomato & Basil and Spinach wraps, and Multigrain breads with multiple types of turkey and ham as well as grilled veggie sandwiches =)

Great variety to feed a variety of NY's own!
