Apropos of nothing, here's my personal headcanon in regards to Mario and Luigi's surname.
Now, it's been generally announced and accepted that the brothers' last name is "Mario," shackling them with the somewhat awkward full names of "Mario Mario" and "Luigi Mario." My take on this is that the family's original last name was "Marianetti" (likely coming from the more common "Marinetti"). This name was changed to "Marionetti" when the boys' grandmother came over from Italy. (A common occurrence in record keeping at immigration at the time. Someone probably had bad handwriting and smudged a pencil stroke somewhere. It happened in my family for sure).
In Brooklyn, their father went by the last name "Marionetti," which ended up shortened to just "Mario," as oftentimes he would be addressed by his surname only. (Think, "Hey, Mario! Get over here!" as opposed to "Hey, Marionetti! Get over here!")
So, the boys are born and get their names. (Their father's middle name was Mario, and so our Mario, being the oldest, inherits his father's middle name as his first name. Luigi's name maybe comes from the middle name of some uncle who is long out of the picture).
So we have "Mario Marionetti" and "Luigi Marionetti." Which, their surname being a mouthful, gets shortened to "Mario" more often than not, just like their father. And thus we end up with "Mario Mario" and "Luigi Mario," culminating in the "Mario Brothers."

It really frees up so much mental real estate when you start thinking of sex as just: a thing people sometimes do. Some people are super into it! Some aren't! It's for fun! It's for intimacy! It's the deepest connection some people will ever feel and totally meaningless to others! It's hot! It's boring! It helps some people sleep! It exists as an exciting construct solely in fantasy for others! What it isn't is some complicated moral ground that needs to be fought against at every turn. It's just A Thing. Which means people who have a lot of it, or none of it, or whatever in between are all worth the same. Which means stories that have a lot of it, or none of it, or whatever in between are worth the same, too. Smut isn't less valuable than "clean" stories. People who have a high "body count" aren't less valuable than those who have never had sex at all. It's just A Thing. Making peace with sex as just A Thing that is natural to consentingly have or not have, want or not want, really is a great adjustment to your brainspace.

an essential read for many 911 fans at the moment
tldr:
"...it might help to remember that ships don’t have to be canon in order to be transformative and meaningful on both a personal and cultural level. Look at Star Trek’s Kirk/Spock: that ship never became canon, but it remains one of the most compelling ships ever created, and within canon it gave us one of pop culture’s most enduring symbols of love — their hands touching through the glass.
Henry Jenkins famously said that queer fanfiction "is what happens when you take away the glass." And, sure, it’s increasingly possible that savvy creators might go ahead and take away the glass for us. But that doesn’t negate the power of fans being able to do it on their own, without anyone’s help.
Shipping is exciting, fun, and often a progressive and empowering experience. And if a ship ultimately becomes canon, so much the better. But when shipping becomes an ideology, tantamount to a religion, it makes a story’s creators pretty much tantamount to gods. In essence, even though that level of shipping may grow out of a wish to maintain parity with creators, it’s ultimately de-empowering to fans, making them dependent on creators for validation.
But fans are validated through their love for the source material; they’ve never needed more than that. Turning that source material into a game to be won only turns all involved players into winners and losers.
And when that happens, sooner or later, we all lose."

its fucked up i dont even actually think i look THAT bad but then i remember how people have actually treated me and it's like. oh right to most people i am actually extremely hideous and meant to be avoided like the plague.
"ugly ppl can get laid!!!" yeah maybe ugly straights (or bis) bc getting with the opposite sex is easy as fuck. and with gay guys it's kinda a mixed bag but also even if its not The Beauty Standard there's still a niche for fat hairy guys and etc. and even ugly ogreish dudes.
but then the lesbians/bis who claim to ~looove fat butches~ are literally just posturing. or at best like them only if they're extremely charismatic and etc. aka basically you can be ugly or awkward/unwell but not both...... :/ like literally unless you're like in the realm or vicinity of conventionally attractive you're fucked unless you get insanely lucky. and maaaaaybe this wasn't the case like 20-30+ years ago but it sure as hell is now
"but most of the ppl on this website are virgins arent they" sure but theyre like 18 or some shit not in their mid-20s lmao so it's not the same
also this isnt even just about sex this is about the fact that ive never even had a relationship and nobody has ever had a crush on me or been attracted to me in any way. all of these are normal ass universal human experiences of course I'm going to fucking feel like im some sort of exceptionally ugly freak when i lack basic fundamental human experiences.... like if youre going to be like "UGH INCELPOSTING AGAIN STFU ((fuck you btw this is my blog i do what i want including bitching and moaning)) IT'S NOT EVEN THAT BAD OR IMPORTANT ((always said by people who've never been in this position btw. so like of course it's easy for you to say that))" at least consider THAT aspect smfh. it goes deeper

my thesis statement will of course always be that the angels + demons in good omens are aspec (and nonbinary) but crowley specifically was so aromantic this season. man who goes "oh, romance? yeah, i know how that works. practically an expert. i've picked up so much from the way that people talk about it and represent it in media. i know all the perfect steps to execute romance. it has nothing to do with personhood and feelings; there's a certain list of requirements, certain steps that you take, certain subjective prerequisites to be fulfilled, and then you'll have romance. easy. simple." when he has no idea how romance actually works because it's never been something that was accessible or valuable to him. the general conventions for love seem so simple from the outside when you pick up an idea of it through cultural osmosis but not any real experience or investment in the idea. maggie and nina come in to tell him that he can't be messing with people's love lives because it's serious and personal but how should he know? when you're outside of it and don't even realize that you're outside of it, romance is just a thing that happens. and it seems so simple...

If anyone were to hand Fourteen a trinket, like literally any trinket at all, would his first reaction be to eat it? Or sniff it like a dog
he would sniff it first, get all the scent in. savour it read into it, then chomp.

Writing really is just
Me: wow, this is….bad. Really bad.
Me, looking at it again 2 hours later: ….okay that’s good actually
Me, 2 hours after that: nope, nope, I was right the first time
Me the next day: …….unless
Me the day after that: how is it that I’ve written good stuff as a less skilled writer but this is such garbage
Me, 2 hours later: holy shit this is poetic genius I’m a genius
Me the next day: okay no I’m scrapping this whole thing
Me 2 hours after that: …….goddamnit fine FINE I’ll finish it
Me that night: okay hot garbage! Hottest of hot garbage wow it’s horrible I’m never looking at this again
Me 2 days later: I am a god and this is my magnum opus. I will share it with my friends
The moment I share it with my friends: suddenly I have eagle eye vision and see twenty new things wrong or repetitive or unoriginal or typos and actually I was right all those other times when I said it was bad-
My friends: why is your writing so good
Me: *screaming inside trying to decide whether I agree or disagree and the answer is “yeah”* thank you

considering creating the most evil tenth street red member that features in yishai's backstory (who is partially responsible for manipulating the situation so that yishai was recruited into the reds. yishai got to know him more closely for a very short while, during his earlier years in the gang, but this guy is so fucked that honestly shepard Barely survived that time period) and doing a completely renegade playthrough as him... it's the only way i ever foresee doing a full renegade run that includes all the xenophobic choices
the only thing is that he would never be shepard to me so i'd have to be closing my ears and going "lalalala" every time someone says "shepard." but nonetheless i'd get to create a face for him, and also get to experience the fuckiest playthrough of all time
anyway........ i do think there Should be a situation where yishai is forced into an encounter with him on the citadel near the end of mass effect 3. the lack of the reds' involvement in an earthborn shepard's story beyond me1 is always very jarring to me. and. yishai has never processed/never been able to process the effects of the Reds' (and this particular Red's) involvement in his life. he has emotionally developed enough and knows by me3 that "survive and move on and never think of it again or of how it shaped you for decades as a person" no longer works and it's time to extend that courtesy to his past. this confrontation feels like a necessity, but depending on his state, it will either be the best thing for him or the worst thing he could do

my review of Moonwalk: hot mess. ★★★.
#i will refer to it#but oh god... it's just#1st of all. the added afterword from 2009 should have been a FOREWORD bc it gives you the context for how this book was made#so they did have a real writer put it together based on long transcripts of interviews one of the publishing people did with mj#if those tapes exist or pieces of then exist i need to find them. i think i've seen some floating around#bc ... the way it's written sounds very michael. it's not well written. so i'm surprised they even had an actual writer do it#but that makes me think maybe the writer just pulled a lot of exact wording from the tapes?#i hope that's how it happened#like the publishing lady said i Also wish michael had been devoted to this project. this could've been really good#i'm interested in anything that comes straight from michael so ultimately i'm just grateful he did a book at all#and really WAS involved in it#but it just. it's a mess. it's disorganized. it's disjointed#it just does not deliver in so many ways#there were so many times i would read a couple paragraphs and be like. wait What. that went Nowhere#there are really wonderful parts of course too#first of all i'm happy to hear him talk about parts of his life he didn't necessarily talk about that much#i find everything he says about motown and esp the mid-late j5 motown years Supremely interesting#everything written about music and dancing and performing is great. seeing the way he thinks about those things. divine. enlightening.#the thing is. the tone is extremely defensive and passive aggressive throughout the whole book#which is amusing and i mostly like it. michael jackson was one petty and spiteful mf. he loved being right and he reiterates that a lot#but bc of the press treatment of more personal things like his appearance and relationships. those parts are just. eugh#like when it comes to music/dance/performance he can defend himself no problem. concrete evidence that he's fucking awesome and he knew it#he brings up dating and stuff and it feels like he was like. floundering. maybe he just couldn't decide how much to share?#idk it just feels like. he won't outright SAY some things but he'll sort of hint at things. and i can't tell if what he's hinting at#is the real truth or him being defensive and wanting to give the impression that he was 'normal' so people would just leave him alone#i can't tell. i really can't. i wanna just believe him but i'm like. wtf do you mean. and then there'll be inconsistencies#like WHAT R U TRYING TO SAY. you might as well just tell me what you WANT me to think and what you want people to stop bothering you about#ok anyways#it definitely feels like they rushed to get it out asap#i have like 10 questions for every page. i feel like a writer/editor should've been working with him in that way

#Doodles#Original#I blame the character creators I was using at the time for the shirt lol - that was an actual option obviously I had to choose that#She's a teddy bear! It only makes sense that she'd wear a shirt with no pants! That's what all the plush bears do! But also what no??? Lol#She's not shy but she also literally has nothing /to/ be shy about - what sense would shame make for something she doesn't have#She'd probably also make the argument that for-real-life bears also don't wear pants lol#Anyway mostly just a bunch of silly things ♪ More stuff based on the character creators#There's actually a good handful of picrews that have plushie options? Very cute#Including one cursed (intentionally) horror-themed Care Bear maker? Very good would recommend haha#I have a couple old ones of Cure-but-human that never Quite suited her but it's still funny to see her smug face#She would knife cat#I couldn't decide what kind of mask she would wear so why not a couple! She doesn't have a respiratory system the heck#I wonder if Build-a-Bear has mask options these days :0 Since they were always big on upselling with clothes#So I looked and apparently they mostly offer branded masks for their human customers - disappointing - but they do offer one (1) bear mask#It's just a generic medical mask but it's something!#Hhhhh this is just making me want to go to Build-a-Bear wagh that wasn't the goal!#I can't say Cure's not at least a Little inspired by Build-a-Bear tho she absolutely is#She's a plush bear! She pulls from all the iconics and classics#Including of her just being straight up a teddy bear in that second to last one lol#Can't say she's not cute ♪ She definitely is#By design :)#Hey wait a second! I was browsing the BaB clothes and they have a ''Sun's Out Buns Out'' shirt!! She's Build-a-Bear fr!

Just went thru a crypto terf's blog before blocking and there was a few more interesting characteristics than I anticipated
- complete devotion to using the r slur at every opportunity
- generally making fun of ppl in wheelchairs/otherwise disabled
-MANY posts about the evils of polyamory and how poly ppl harass lesbians in dating apps (as far as I can tell the problem is that there's ppl who are lesbian but who you don't want to sleep with bc they're poly? Unclear)
- Naturally followed by posts fantasizing about group sex (presumably with 2 other completely monogamous ppl?)
- then finally statements that lesbianism is a "biological reality" and also that this biological reality will protect them from penetrative rape!
