PLEASE infodump about drake
okok this is specific to the drake/kendrick drama but i can also do a drake one too - im assuming you know basically nothing. & i barely know this shit so correct me if im wrong. also this will be routinely updated so! check in :D
2011 - Take Care (album) by Drake features Kendrick Lamar on the track Buried Alive Interlude
2012 - Drake has Kendrick open for his Club Paradise Tour. The same year they both feature on A$AP Rocky's song Fuckin Problems (also with 2 Chainz)
2013 - Kendrick called out a few rappers (J. Cole, Pusha T, Big Sean, etc.) including Drake. Drake responds saying he had no response, basically. They do this again the same year (Kendrick says shit, Drake doesnt respond)
2016 (ish) - They continue subtle beef (Kendrick saying Drake has ghost writers, Drake saying Kendrick "sold out")
2023 - First Person Shooter by Drake and J. Cole drops (their first collab since 2013). In the song Drake mentions "the big three" in reference to himself, J. Cole, and Kendrick
2024, Mar. - Like That by Metro Boomin' and Kendrick Lamar drops. In it Kendrick responds to Drake, saying "the big three ... it's just big me", implying that Kendrick is above Drake and J. Cole. Drake attempts to ban Like That from the radio.
2024, Apr. - Push Ups by Drake is released. The song is about how Drake believes Kendrick is being extorted - the track referencing the phrase "drop and give me 50".
2024, Apr. - Taylor Made Freestyle by Drake is released, his second diss track at Kendrick. Here Drake disses Kendrick for "selling out" specifically in reference to Bad Blood by Taylor Swift ft. Kendrick Lamar. Drake also used AI vocals of Snoop Dogg and Tupac - this resulted in him almost being sued by Tupac's Estate. Drake wiped the song from his sites
2024, Apr. - Euphoria by Kendrick Lamar is released. The track is 6 minutes long, cut down from its original 19 minutes. The title is in reference to the TV series Euphoria which Drake is an executive producer of - it's also referencing the sexualisation of underage people, something done by the show and (allegedly) Drake himself. Within the track Kendrick makes fun of Drakes accent, how Drake says the n-word, how Drake dresses... and a fuck load more
2024, May. - 6:16 in LA by Kendrick Lamar releases, less than 72 hours after Euphoria dropped. This track specifically disses Drake for having ghost writers/lots of co-writers. He also implies that Drakes friends are stabbing him in the back and selling his info. This track is co-produced by Jack Antonoff, who co-writes and co-produces for Taylor Swift.
2024, May. - Family Matters by Drake is released. I want to be honest with you, i didn't listen to this until i got this ask. This track implies Kendrick beats his wife. Drake also disses other rappers such as A$AP Rocky, Future, etc.
2024, May. - Drake releases a Buried Alive Interlude Parody on his Instagram
2024, May. - Meet the Grahams by Kendrick Lamar is released. In this track (which is by far my favourite of all the tracks) Kendrick calls Drake a deadbeat dad and accuses Drake of having another secret child (apart from Adonis). Kendrick has a verse dedicated to this supposed child in which he basically parents her - teaching her all the things Drake wont. He also implies Drake struggles with alcohol and gambling
2024, May. - Not Like Us by Kendrick Lamar is released. The fourth diss track from Kendrick. In this track Kendrick alleges that there's pedophiles and trafficking within OVO (an indie record label founded by Drake). Kendrick also says that every rapper who's complimented Drake is lying and now hates him for using Tupac's vocals through AI. This track includes my favourite line "Tryna stike a chord and it's probably A-Minor"

reckless smiles adjacent (call fic)
warnings: you could have died, swearing, animal-in-danger, no beta we die like my sleep schedule
a/n: writing calls is surprisingly fun! SORRY for the (definite) inconsistencies. asks are open! dedicated to @scenesofobx because your comments have made my day <33 enjoy!
You’re dressed in a cute little workout outfit. Leggings, a cropped skintight long sleeve top with thumb-holes, overtop of that a gray sweater, and over that, a puffer vest that you leave open because it’s not as cold as you thought it would be. The vest you realize, might be a little extra, but you’re already committed now, halfway to your favourite taco truck. It’s your day off and since you can’t just do nothing, you’ve decided to go on a jog. It’s around lunchtime (you’re headed to get yours) and you pick this time purposely—you’re a cop, you’ve seen a lot. Enough that you don’t go running when it’s dark out and when there aren’t other people around—12PM ensures witnesses and sunlight and since you’re jogging on a sidewalk in the suburbs; in a relatively wealthy neighborhood, you don’t expect anything to happen. You run this route often and know that in a little bit, you’ll run across a bridge, that the small lake running underneath will be frost kissed, reflecting sun back at you. You know you might stop to take a picture—what you don’t know is that the group you’re nearing, jogging towards, are buying.
Up ahead, a man with a hood pulled down, obscuring his face passes a brick—not a baggy, a brick—of something into the hands of another man, this one wearing a ball cap and baggy jeans, sans face covering. You reach for your off-duty weapon and the badge you keep tucked into your wallet. “LAPD, hands in the air!”
Because nothing is easy and karma is against you, all hell breaks loose. Two of the guys pull out their guns, one shoots bullet after bullet in quick succession—you dive out of the way, ducking behind a grey civic that acts as a shield, absorbing bullets so you don’t have to. The other two start running and dammit, those ones are the guys who brought the drugs. The ones you really need in custody. You dial 911 and give your general address, you give your name and badge number, “10-57, requesting backup,” then you hangup. You call Chen—knowing she should be patrolling in the area; that she usually does, at least. “Hey! Pursuing armed suspects or about to… would love some help. Drug deal gone—“ and then you hear dispatch regurgitating your earlier words, hear her TO accept the call and then you’re shooting back, running behind other cars paralell parked on the sides of the road, using them as cover, and darting after the two escaping. A bullet whizzes past your side—you turn and bury one in the shooters shoulder. The other man, you shoot in the hand, causing his gun to go flying. Then you’re sprinting after the two. Distantly you hear sirens. Up ahead, alongside the criminals, is a scraggly looking stray. A cop car skids to a halt on the other side of the men, Chen and Bishop jumping out, guns raised. The criminals are now paused atop the bridge, looking at you like they’re planning to go through you, like it's the easier option now that the cavalry has arrived. You approach, another car sliding behind you. This one, Tim Bradford climbs out of, looking like the soldier he was—dangerous, determined. “It’s over! Interlace your hands behind your head!” you shout. The two men, both shot by you, are already stuffed into the backseat of a shop, headed for hospital before they’re to be booked.
The criminals are outnumbered and outgunned. They raise their hands slowly, fingers splaying, guns clattering to the ground and you approach, wrenching brick-boy’s hands behind his back, your own outstretched, waiting for a pair of cuffs to be thrown into them. Tim passes you a pair and you shove the restrained criminal towards your TO, past the cowering stray who the asshole swipes his foot at. The criminal kicks the dog who yelps and is knocked under the guardrail. You shove him harder then, forcing him to his knees in front of officer Bradford as you throw yourself at the fence, peering over where you see water. The dog fell through the thin layer of ice. You see him paddle up once, twice, and then he dips under again. Comeon, comeoncomeoncomeon, you plead. He doesn’t surface. Tim Bradford’s the last person you look at, the one who reaches for you as you vault over the guardrail and take the plunge yourself.
The water is cold. So cold that it seems to slow time down. Everything takes an extra minute, everything slowed as your eyes shoot open, blinking to adjust to the feeling of wetness against them. Underwater, you paddle, spinning around, looking for the dog. You see him, his little legs are frantic, pawing against the water. Still holding your breath, cheeks puffed up, full of air you’re losing faster than you’d like, you make large strides and close the distance between you and the pup. With the dog in your arms you try to surface. A layer of cold glass stops you. You bang your fist against it—breakbreakbreak. Weighed down by panic you climb along the underneath, looking for the crater you fell through. You claw your way to the hole in the ice and the dog surfaces before you do because you stick your hands out, up in the air, and pump your legs as quickly as you can. Your head breaches the water and you grab the ledge of the ice, wincing, terrified, when it gives way, only widening the break in the ice. You push the dog up onto the ice—the solid kind, and watch as it coughs up the cold water you’re still in. The cold water that’s feeling less cold. It's not the water, you know, it’s just you feeling less. Your feet are numb, your hands too. People are shouting but it still feels like you’re underwater. Still feels like something’s blocking your ears. Vaguely, as you attempt to pull yourself onto the ice you see flashing lights. Cop ones, ones from LAFD vehicles, too. There’s an ambulance here—as much for you as the men you shot, if only you could make it to them. If only. You’re getting tired. Sounds blur together, sensations, and colours too. You’re cocooned in a haze, a fog that just keeps getting thicker and thicker. A voice breaks it.
“Boot!” snaps Bradford. He’s closer than the others, you think. “Look at me,” he demands. You do, of course you do. He’s lying on the ice, body weight dispersed over a larger part of it so nothing shatters and he’s reaching out for you. There’s a few blurs behind him, firefighters, you think, telling—yelling at him, but all you can focus on is the words he’s saying. “Focus!”
You do your best.
“I need you to grab my arm. I’ll pull you up,” his hand is reaching towards your own and even though you can place your fingers—can’t feel them, you watch them carefully, making sure you direct your hand into his. Then, Tim pulls you from the water, sliding you along beside him and shifting so you’re between his legs, his forearms wrapped around your chest, holding you tightly. You’re shaking—still are, as two LAFD members drag Tim backwards to the bank, you with him. They take you from him and you didn’t fight his hold but you squirm in theirs, remembering the reason you took the ice-bath in the first place: the dog. “They’re going to help you,” Tim says, “you need to get warmed up.”
Your teeth clash with each other brutally in agreeance but you shake your head. “The d-dog. I-I have to get him, make sure he’s okay.”
Tim shakes his head incredulously. You don’t budge, insistent as ever and finally he relents. “I’ll get the damn dog. You, get warmed up. Listen to them.”
The dog would be okay, Tim would make sure of it—he’d take it to the vet himself, pay the bills, buy it a fucking sweater. Tim would do anything as long as you get seen by the paramedics because your lips were blue and he was terrified.
He hides that fear under a scowl as he searches for the pup and pulls him into his arms. The dog is small—a scraggly chihuahua mix of some kind—and he’s just as cold as you; a little less, thanks to the matted fur he’s covered in. Tim unzipped his jacket and wrapped the dog in it, then he headed up the bank to check on you. You, who had been ushered into the back of the ambulance and despite your assurances, “I’m fine, I’m fine, just a little chilly. Guys, this really isn’t necessary, I could warm up just as easily at home—“ shut in. A woman climbed into the driver's seat, her partner in the back with you and the doors were wrenched open a second time, your TO and the stray in his arms joining you. “I’m riding with her,” he tells the paramedics. He sits down on one of the small half-benches. “You’re okay?”
“Is the dog?”
He rolls his eyes. “Yes, I’ll take him to the vet to be sure but he seems okay. Now, Boot, answer.”
“I’m okay, just a little cold and sore. Don’t take him to the shelter after the vet. I’ll pay the bill just let me know how much.”
“You want to adopt him?”
“Yeah, I could use a roommate.”

With my full playthrough of Mass Effect: Legendary Edition, I got to thinking about the different difficulty levels. Despite all being in the same series, the difficulties of each game are very different from one another.
With its heavy emphasis on RPG skills instead of cover-based shooter, the "Insanity" difficulty in ME1 doesn't change the nature of gameplay itself. The combat is definitely harder than the lower levels, but it's still the same game.
With ME2's change to a cover-based shooter emphasis, the "Insanity" difficulty is a whole different arena. Tactics need to be completely changed and different characters are less useful (some of which become nearly pointless outside of certain dedicated missions). Personally, I think some levels are so hard that it crosses over the line from "fun" to "work". I doubt I'll replay this game on Insanity after getting the achievement.
In ME3 it's back almost to where ME1 was, but not quite. Some squadmates are still more useful than others, but you can use any squadmate throughout the game without sabotaging your own combat. With the change in how Defenses and Powers work this might actually be the easiest of all three games in straight combat difficulty. I did the Insanity achievement on the first run without even a "practice" playthrough.

GAMER GUY? ˚🎮🕹️👾
LADS men as GAMERS!
✎ᝰ a/n: they're all streamers lol, enjoy!
⭐︎ ⭐︎ ⭐︎ ⭐︎ ⭐︎
˚🎮🕹️👾. ˚🎮🕹️👾. ˚🎮🕹️👾.

XAVIER
❥ xavier is the go-to comfort streamer. he only really plays easy rpgs, farming sims, or turn based games. it’s not that he doesn’t or can’t play harder games (like combat or first person shooter) but it’s more like he doesn’t prefer to most days. he thinks of games as a peaceful, winding down hobby so most days he’d rather not break a sweat trying to clear levels or fight bosses. on the rare occasion when he does play harder games, he’s always so strangely good at them. he tries to tell his chat that no he didn’t pre-play the game before the stream and no he didn’t watch videos for strategies. he’s just naturally that good!
❥ his most common time to stream is evening to night, but sometimes he’ll fall asleep while the camera is still on because he’s so tired. he wears bunny or cat headphones that light up and has a matching light up controller or keyboard. his set up is pretty simple, just a pc with two screens and his gaming console. there’s no big extravagant show or a special room for him, he’s very casual.
❥ xavier really enjoys talking to his chat. he doesn’t go out of his way to answer every question, but he’ll dedicate a few minutes to just reading people’s comments and giving short responses. he’s a natural charmer with his soft laughs and candid responses, no wonder he gets so much traction.
❥ and speaking of which, xavier truly doesn’t know how well liked he is. the amount of donations and viewers he gets even when he goes missing for months at a time is abnormal. he constantly has to turn down the donation noise down on his streams because it gets annoying. (the noise is the sound of a shooting star btw hehe.)
❥ he’s a bit of a secret gamer nerd. his chat will ask what the posters and figures are in the background of his streams, and xavier will make it a habit to bring out his new collection of merchandise he got. he doesn’t fill his room to the brim with items though, no no. xavier only collects a decent amount of sentimental, cute things that fit well within his room. so if anyone asks about them, be prepared for a shy but intriguing conversation!
“i can barely keep my eyes open… but i really want to explore this new area. will anyone stay awake with me? wow… all of you, huh?”

ZAYNE
❥ zayne’s streams were once few far and in between. he only started streaming because he felt kinda lonely without anyone to play games with. he has friends, yes! but working a full-time day job means that you end up being too tired to find other people to play with, if they even play games in the first place. playing games is his little side hobby and his way of connecting with other people.
❥ zaynes primary games are puzzle based games, story-centered rpgs, and of course… tetris. he loves anything that requires thoughtful thinking and enjoys a good storyline. but when he just needs to turn off his brain and talk to his chat, he’ll opt for his favorite time-passing tetris. it’s become somewhat of an inside joke between him and his viewers that tetris is his lifeline. it’s not even mundane to watch him. contrary to popular belief, zayne is a good conversationalist when he’s comfortable, and playing for his viewers is actually very comforting.
❥ zayne’s set up is pretty simple. nothing too colorful or bright, just hues of blue and white around his monitors and consoles. maybe he’ll have a snowman figure or a snow globe perched up on his desk but he keeps his gaming area relatively declutterred and clean. not only does it bring him mental peace but it’s also very aesthetically pleasing to look at. even his PC background is of like… snowy mountains or something. it’s like his signature!
❥ zayne mostly plays in the evenings or mid-afternoons. evenings after work or midday if he’s off. he didn’t have a schedule at first, but when he started to get into the groove of streaming more regularly, he also started to have more of a rhythm for his streams. weekends had a high probability, thursdays and wednesdays were his next best days. but at the very least, zayne promises to stream at least twice a week just to keep his viewers (and himself) happy.
❥ it’s actually quite obvious that zayne has a bit of a soft spot for his chat, especially his regulars. it’s very easy for him to remember usernames or the life stories of someone, even if he only saw them online once. he has his special of making his fans feel special. he might not say it often but zayne is actually very grateful for his viewers. he’s not a big streamer or anything, but he definitely has a solidified circle of people who like watching him. he’s very well liked for his skills (and his face but he gets shy whenever he’s complimented).
“i can’t be bothered to play god of war today guys, apologies, i’m very tired. let’s switch over to tetris… why’s everyone laughing?”

RAFAYEL
❥ rafayel is a popular streamer and he loves it! due to his charismatic, funny, and playfully personality, rafa ends up drawing in thousands of viewers each livestream. while his intent at the beginning was to just share his love for video games, he doesn’t mind the attention one bit. he revels in it actually. and despite his growing popularity, the best part about rafayel is that he keeps authentic. there’s never any extravagant or clickbait-y videos, it’s just always rafayel being rafayel.
❥ rafayel’s most played games are the games his viewers ask him to play. his favourites would definitely be a mix of dress up/massive multiplayer/adventure video games. he really doesn’t have a strong preference, he’s willing to play anything. the only hiccup here is when his chat asks rafayel to play a really heavy-duty combat game that he really isn’t mentally equipped for. he’ll spend a good forty minutes on a boss before semi-rage quitting and pouting… and then maybe he goes back to it an hour later.
❥ rafayel’s set up is very colorful but not blinding. the lights are somewhat dim but they all shine rainbows across his face and room. it’s really eye catching! his actual set up is quite massive. he has four different monitors but onto really uses two. he switches between different cute headsets but his staples are the unicorn one and the mermaid designed one. his desk set up isn’t just where he plays games, it’s where he thrives. there’s even a wheely cart of snacks so he can eat mid stream if he so wishes. it’s messy, sure, but not overwhelming. it’s the way he works.
❥ rafayel does not have a streaming schedule at all. he tried having a schedule once and then started to feel kinda suffocated by it. he’s a very type B, “i do what i want when i want to” person. it’s a little hectic but it works the best for him because as soon as he feels obligated to stream, he doesn’t wanna do it anymore. but it really doesn’t matter at what time he streams, he’ll still get a good amount of viewers from all over! he is really grateful for the flexibility. apart from his job as an art teacher, streaming really does pay the bills. and to think, he can do it at any time!
❥ with his chat, rafayel is definitely the most interactive. sometimes entire streams will be dedicated to getting to know his viewers better. he gets very attached. but he has no problem reprimanding someone for being aggressive or rude, either to him or others. he takes that kindness shit seriously! the only time he’ll be “mean” is when he’s play fighting with the chat, which he does so often that he starts to have personal beef with certain users. but it’s all in love, of course!
“ah! fuck! i died again! what do you guys have me playing? what if i just turned off stream right now, huh? yeah… yeah, thought so!”

SYLUS
❥ when sylus first considered streaming, he thought maybe he was a little too old for a seemingly “juvenile” hobby. but his young companion, coworkers (luke and kieran) pushed him to at least try! sylus was a bit awkward at first, what with all the mechanics he had to build for a set-up and all the games that were available to him. the first few streams went just as he thought, him tensely pulling up random games and playing them to an audience of two (luke and kieran again). he almost gave up after the fourth or so livestream, but once his viewer count went up to five, he decided to stay a little longer.
❥ a good idea, that was. because in just a few months sylus would amass a couple hundred viewers that would tune into his live streams. it also helped that sylus really found his niche in first person shooter/close combat/stealth games. he felt the most confident in these games and would always take suggestions for new games under the same category. just to humor his chat, though, he’d indulge in silly casual games which he always scored high on, but sylus enjoys thrill much more. his set up is simple and sleek, black and red as the main colors and nothing getting in the way of his space except maybe a coaster. and just 1 singular pair of black headphones because they go a long way.
❥ despite being fairly new to games, sylus gets the hang of things very quickly. it’s very impressive. he doesn’t get emotional about losing or being stuck somewhere either, just a bit frustrated. if he gets too frustrated, he’ll decide to take a break and pop open a beer and talk to his chat. he’s very straightforward forward and amused with his viewers. he finds all the comments about his looks and skills very flattering but also kinda funny. like: “wow? that’s about me? haha.”
❥ sylus and his chat is very endearing relationship. there will be rare moments where he will explicitly say how grateful he is, but most of his gratitude comes from his attention. his first donation came as a shock and he almost felt a little uncomfortable to think that someone would give him money just for… gaming? he turned his donations off after that, and no matter how much his chat begged, he never turned them back on. he thinks the best appreciation comes from from dedication, and sylus is definitely dedicated.
❥ also, kinda funny, but the viewers definitely enjoy sylus’s voice. part of his charm is that soothing, raspy voice. it’s mature and deep, very commanding of attention. he never realizes how entranced his viewers are from his mannerisms. his deep voice, the tapping of his fingers, the clicking of his tongue. it’s all very satisfying and so sylus. his mature look and atmosphere draws in just about anybody. it’s very calming in a way… very soothing to the soul.
“how old am i? too old to be playing mortal kombat on stream, that’s for sure. but i do it because i have fun, nothing more to it. hm? i can never be old to enjoy myself? that’s nice of you to say.”

CALEB
❥ caleb has always been an avid video gamer player since he was a kid, and getting into streaming really was one of his goals. he didn’t need to be popular or make money off of it, he just wanted to share his passion with everyone else. but now, he was both! caleb could be considered semi-popular. he garners a few thousand viewers every stream which is a lot more than what the average streamer gets. it’s like an unspoken wish of his come true.
❥ it’s for that reason that caleb tries to stream as frequently as possible. he wants to have every chance to meet his audience and play games with or for them. he’ll host multiplayer games or join other people’s games to be able to experience the fun of co-op. his schedule is set for weekends, but it’s absolutely possible for him to pop in for a few hours on weekdays to continue a story quest from his favorite adventure game. he actually refuses to play certain games unless his audience gets to watch it too.
❥ caleb’s set up is actually very high-tech. he’s saved up a lot to buy his stuff and for that reason, he’s really, really careful with it. he doesn’t rage or put unnecessary drinks around his tech. he tries not to dirty it up but he really likes to eat while streaming so that tends to get a little hard. the main colours there are white, orange, and purple. people remark how those are the colours he wears the most often too. his headset is a pair of white and orange ones, but after encouragement from his chat, he added some dog ears to them. it’s a little embarrassing but whatever makes the fans happy.
❥ there really isn’t a game category out there caleb hasn’t tried. after years of gaming, he’s dipped his toes into practically every genre and knows a lot about gaming companies and developers and even some coding. talk about a true gaming nerd. but still, he’ll replay a lot of games because he really does get immersed in what he does. and any new big game that comes out, he’ll play almost immediately to give his two cents in. and trust, he’ll always have a lot to say.
❥ but just like the love he has for video games, caleb definitely has gotten a love for streaming too. sometimes he gets so sad that he has to cut the stream that he just… decides to bring everyone along. he’ll turn on a small go pro and just take his viewers on a grocery run or out to the park to get away from the screen. sometimes gaming and streaming overlapped, but other times they were lovely in their own right. of course every minute of the way, caleb has his nose stuck at the chat, wondering what his viewers are saying and laughing at their jokes about how weird and goofy he is. caleb lived for that.
“bro, how lore-packed is this game??? let’s check to see how many hours i’ve played… fifty-three?! alright guys, haha, i’m not jobless i swear. how about we go out and enjoy the stars before my retinas burn off?”

"< --with apologies to our audience and correspondents, I'm just arriving on the scene to...to replace my colleagues. This is not the work of shooters, but of monsters. Those who didn't die from gunfire were massacred by what can only be called a display of supernatural impossibility exercised by one of the targeted terrorists, referred to as the Man in Red, and a former military liaison, Tubalcain Alhambra. Both individuals remain missing, having retreated up the hotel wall to the rooftop, followed by what is assumed to be an escape via a commandeered helicopter that...
"<I'm sorry. I am not a professional. I'm only an aide, but my team, they were--God. Please, God. They're taking people away in pieces. There are soldiers pinned up on flagpoles. Half the dead out here aren't here from the news or the police; they were just guests. Civilians. I can't...>"

"...My decision. Was it right or wrong, Walter?"
"Me, correct your decisions? If I am but--"

"You have to ask. You have to ask?"

"He could have done anything. You could have told him to do anything. You, the supposed wall between monsters and humanity. Holder of the leash. And you tell him, the demigod your family carved out of a single devil of the Pit, only to seek and destroy. No caveats. No pretense of considering the defense--even the avoidance--of the fragile paper dolls that are the human cattle who get caught in the crossfire. And why? Because it would 'look weak' to your enemies, who already see humanity as disposable? Because he would have turned up his nose and declared you soft? Couldn't have that, of course. Not at any cost.
"Consider this my formal resignation, Sir Hellsing. Best wishes to you and your organization's mission. Whatever that is."

"I'm sure Abraham would be proud."
Bonus under the cut:

Pictured: Jonathan learning about technology before he sees all that shit go down in Brazil.
Sadly, our good friend is not a fan of the Hellsingverse's attitude to dumping people willy-nilly into the meat grinder of monster fights for Badass McCool reasons.
I do think that Jonathan would have built up genuine respect for Integra until this point. There might have been something like admiration for how she could (mostly) corral Alucard and engage with his mind game nonsense without having to tug on the magical leash. And she's in charge of an organization dedicated entirely to protecting people from monstrous threats! All big pluses!
And then Brazil happens.
The respect falls apart like sand. Where Jonathan would remember Abraham as a man willing to martyr Mina or, it turns out, magically enslave Dracula to his own bloodline for the greater good, Abraham's descendant looks as if she's willing to allow the sacrifice of misled forces and innocent civilians as collateral damage simply for the sake of calling an enemy's bluff. There is nothing noble in it. Nothing he might even try to sympathize with, being Mr. Holiest Love.
All he sees is a show of her attack dog's power and her own complicity in the laissez-faire carnage so long as Alucard takes the enemy down.
I wonder where he's off to...

Nowhere to Run: Part 2 (Miguel O’Hara (Spider-Man 2099) x Spider-Woman!f!reader)
Read Part 1 Here
Pairings: Miguel O’Hara (Spider-Man 2099) x Spider-Woman!f!reader
Warnings: Miguel helps reader through a panic attack (descriptions based on my own experiences but not necessarily perfectly written down), mentions of isolation and isolation-related trauma, references to child loss, scars
Summary: Living in Nueva York and working with the Spider Society is pretty great... except for Miguel O’Hara, the man who injured you, saved your life, and now refuses to speak to you. Luckily, Peter B. Parker loves interfering in Miguel’s life, so when you’re at your lowest, it’s Miguel who is there to help you through it. ~ 2,200 words
Angst, hurt/comfort, happy ending
A/N: This is still dedicated to the Miguel O’Hara editors on TikTok as well as the people leaving the comments. There are light spoilers for AtSV (I made up an ending for BtSV since this is set after that).
--
Two Months Later…
Miguel O’Hara kept his promise. His Spider Society ran all kinds of tests, searching for an explanation for the rapid evolution that provided your the ability to travel the multiverse. Best they could guess, you had been close to the epicenter of your world’s implosion, close enough to absorb some of the energy leaking from what was essentially a black hole devouring the universe.
Another Spider-Woman had given you a more advanced goober - no, gizmo - to keep you from glitching and destabilizing the place they called Nueva York. It was Miguel’s home, she’d explained, and the home base of the Spider Society that kept watch over the multiverse. You’d started volunteering for missions with them, happy to be doing some good. It made you feel like a hero again, like there was a point to all the sacrifices that led you here.
But you hadn't seen Spider-Man 2099 since he dropped you off at a Nueva York hospital and huffed an order to “make sure she gets stitched up, and for god’s sake, get her some food.” That was two months ago.
--
“I can’t believe you bring a kid here.” You waved to Mayday who was sitting on her dad’s lap and trying to steal his food with her webs. For some reason, Peter had given her a web-shooter… as if toddlers weren’t difficult enough.
“Neither can I, honestly. But she loves these guys. Especially Miguel.” He frowned and took a bite of empanada. “She’s borderline obsessed with Miguel actually. I think it’s because he has such climbable shoulders. It’s good for him to see her too.”
“Meaning?”
“Ah nothing.” Peter waved off your question.
An awkward pause filled the space between you and Peter B. Parker. Just ask him, you told yourself.
“Is Miguel avoiding me?” Blunt. Right to the point.
“Ummmmm…” He drug out the word for far too long, looked to his daughter for help, seemed to remember she couldn’t do more than babble random sounds, and then sighed heavily. “Yes. He feels bad about…” Peter gestured broadly to you. “About a year ago we had a little situation with this kid - I mentored him. Good kid. Smart,” Peter added proudly. “This kid, Miles, made Miguel rethink a lot of things. We started handling anomalies... differently, a bit more gently.”
“He calls this gently?” You touched your scarred shoulder.
“Ummmmm… no.” Peter scooped Mayday out of the air where she was now dangling from the ceiling. “You freaked him out pretty bad. I mean you are a huge anomaly. Dangerous. He sort of, uh, how would those kids say it? Oh, yeah, he ‘went off the deep end.’ You should hear him tell the story.”
Mayday babbled incoherently.
“Yes ma’am, it does all seem a bit romantic when he tells it doesn’t it?” Peter cooed to Mayday then grinned at you.
You blinked once. Twice. Romantic?
Mayday went zipping away. Peter stood and sighed.
“Gotta get this kid, but I’m sending him to see you.” He took off after his daughter who was expertly navigating a minefield of other Spider-People (and animals). “Promise!” Peter tossed over his shoulder.
You seriously doubted Peter B. Parker would be able to convince Miguel to talk to you. And that was just as well because by the time you made it back to your room, it was turning into one of your bad nights. It was illogical. How could you could be fine for and suddenly a panic-stricken nightmare-ridden mess one random night? But then, the human mind is an enigma even to itself, the traumatized mind even more so.
It happened when you walked into your room and found yourself suspended in complete darkness. You followed the same routine every night, but today was different. Blackness surrounded you and closed in. You could see nothing, not even the hand in front of your face, and something tightened in your chest, clamped down on your lungs. For a second, you had control of the thing, were reaching for the light switch. Then you were spiraling.
Your mind was no longer in your safe room in Nueva York surrounded by the Spider Society who had taken you in and protected you and even become your friends. No. It was trapped in the silent and endless darkness of a collapsed universe, utterly alone, smothered in deafening silence. Your breath came in rapid, shallow pants, and you stumbled back until your knees hit the edge of the bed. You sat down on the soft mattress, drew up your knees, wrapped your arms around yourself, bowed your head, and tried to breath through it.
Caught in your panic attack, you didn’t even hear two familiar voices arguing, or see the light from the hallway fall across the room as the door was pushed open, or notice the shadows that loomed in the doorway.
“I know what you’re doing, Peter,” Miguel snarled.
“I’m not doing- why’s the door open?”
Miguel noticed you first. The dim room was the perfect environment for his sensitive eyes to make out your hunched form and trembling shoulders. In an instant, he was kneeling in front of you, an act that confirmed every one of Peter B. Parker’s suspicions. He watched for a moment from the doorway before taking a step back and closing the door with a click. Miguel had this under control. He was sure of it.
--
A deep voice, gravelly as if it were being drug over stones whispered your name. It wrapped around you, held you tight, and pulled you above the thrashing waves. That crushing feeling in your chest relaxed ever so slightly, and finally, you managed a deep breath. Then a second. It’s okay now. The worst is over.
After the third breath, you looked up and searched the dark room in a search of the voice’s owner.
Two dimly glowing red orbs shone in the darkness. You knew exactly one person with red eyes. Slowly, your own eyes adjusted, and the broad outline of Miguel O’Hara materialized. He wasn’t wearing his usual vibrant suit, just a dark colored sweater. Even kneeling on the ground he was still tall enough to be eye level with you. The two of you stared at each other for a long second before Miguel slowly raised a hand and... and brushed his thumb across your cheek?
What was happening? All you could do was blink stupidly at him, but when you didn't shy away he brought his other hand to your face. He smoothed his thumbs over your cheeks. He was wiping away your tears so gently and with such concern it seemed impossible. His hands were soft, softer than they had any right to be, and those dangerous claws that had done so much damage to you earlier were nowhere to be seen.
“You’re safe. You’re here with me.” Miguel’s voice was so commanding; he was obviously accustomed to giving order, but that actually made it more reassuring. “I’m here.”
I’m here. For some unexplainable reason those words reassured you more than anything. You didn't even think, just did. You slid forward on the bed and buried your face in the broad muscles of Miguel’s shoulder. His sweater was as soft as anything you could have imagined, and his warmth seeped through the fabric. He smelled like fresh laundry and something more woody and musky.
Miguel haltingly wrapped his arms around you, awkward at first, before he pulled you in closer. He held you like that for several long minutes, running his hands across your back and drawing small circles with fingers until your breathing synced with his.
Since coming to this place, the most physical contact you had with anyone was the occasional hug or handshake or Mayday crawling up your arm. Before that it was Miguel holding you in the rain while he sucked his venom - you had confirmed that it was venom - from your body. Before that you had been trapped in a collapsed universe or on the run. Before that... well, being Spider-Woman was a lonely job.
To be held like this was the most comforting experience you had in longer than you cared to remember. You didn’t want to let go. Even when you realized that in this position Miguel was kneeling between your legs you didn’t let go.
Eventually, he shifted with a quiet huff. You pulled back immediately. What were you doing? Miguel definitely didn’t want you all over him. What could you have possibly been thinking, using the man who actively avoided you for comfort?
Miguel stood and stretched. You looked away, suddenly self-conscious.
“Thank you. I’m okay now,” you muttered.
That was an obvious lie. The man tilted his head as he gazed down at you. He knew what this loneliness was like, how it felt to have wallowed in solitude for so long that you forget how to feel anything but alone. His eyes shifted to your shoulder where a tank top did nothing to hide the four long scars he had left in your skin. You tracked his gaze and immediately tried to cover them with your hand.
“I’m okay,” you repeated, hinting that he could go even though part of you - an insane, irrational, needy part of you - wanted him to stay.
Miguel ran his fingers through his wavy brown hair with a sigh before sitting down, uninvited, on your bed. Next to you. He sat down next to you. On your bed.
Miguel O’Hara was handsome. You never denied that, especially now while he was inches from you smelling the way he smelled and radiating much needed warmth. The temptation to lean into him was strong, but not strong enough to override your embarrassment that he, of all the Spider-People, had seen you at your lowest point.
“I thought you were jumping through the Arach- the Spider-Verse with bad intentions. I had no idea you were running… from me.” The explanation came out of nowhere. Miguel turned to look down at you. “You had the potential to cause a lot of damage, and I panicked. I forgot you’re one of us, and I hurt you, and I’m sorry.” Another long pause. “My claws have never poisoned anyone before.”
The apology was genuine, you could hear it in his voice. Some invisible barrier between the two of you shattered then.
“Are you saying you didn’t mean to kill me with your venomous talons, you only meant to seriously maim me with your regular talons?” You could feel a smile growing as you tried joking with him.
Miguel looked back at the bed spread. Should you? Was this a good idea? You threw caution to the wind and leaned over to bump your shoulder against Miguel’s.
“Hey, it’s okay. We’ve all made mistakes. Glad I was threatening enough to scare you like that.”
“That’s not what- okay.”
“You can look at them. If you want, I mean.” You nodded to your scarred shoulder.
Slowly, as if afraid to scare you off, Miguel smoothed a finger over the scars. They were deep and jagged, but had healed rather well all things considered. His hand on your neck startled you for a moment before you realized what he was doing. Four tiny scars from his fangs still decorated your skin, and he was tracing his thumb over each one.
Miguel felt you swallow, realized what he was doing, and then froze. A single second stretched into an eternity during which you could confront every thought racing through your head. He’d chased you for months, but he had a good reason. He’d hurt you. Then he saved your life. There was that thing Peter said about Mayday being good for him. And Miguel’s sad eyes and ever-present frown. And how warm he’d felt while he held you. And the ripples of muscle across his entire body.
He’d kept his promise not to send you back. And he was handsome. Handsome and sad. So instead of pulling away and kicking him out and going back to avoiding each other, you leaned into him.
There was nothing awkward about Miguel’s movements this time. He wrapped an arm around you and maneuver you both until you were laying down, curled up against his side, head on his shoulder, his arm around your waist.
“What is going on?” You whispered.
“I’ll stay here until you fall asleep,” Miguel whispered back.
“Okay, but why?”
“Because... because I know how it feels to lose everyone and have no one to hold you.”
You looked up at him then. He was staring at the ceiling, some memory you couldn’t see dancing across his eyes. Peter said Mayday was good for Miguel then refused to answer any more questions. The frown lines. How ferociously he protected the multiverse. Mayday was good for Miguel. Mayday. The kid.
It hit you then, and it should have been the most obvious thing in the world. Miguel had lost his family, probably in circumstances not too different from your own. You wanted to know everything about the Spider-Man with the fangs and venom and the saddest eyes you had ever seen. Not now though.
Already, you felt sleep tugging at the edge of your consciousness, a sense of safety and comfort brought on by Miguel’s presence.
“You could stay until I wake up,” you offered drowsily and splayed a hand across his chest. “If you want.”
Miguel ran his fingers lightly over the back of your hand.
“I think I might.”

A/N: There is a teeny tiny potential for an 18+ Part 3. No solid plan yet, but possible. Thanks for all the love on this fic!

people are describing scenarios they would flirt with you or take you on a date because thats how they would shoot their shot? like a lot of people would not consider a tumblr ask to have enough depth for shot shooting at all, at least because a lot of flirting is about body language and such? not only that but there's lots of situations where 'shot shooting' is incredibly inappropriate or offensive so the context of like 'well id flirt with you in a bar or something' is needed to make the 'shot' not make the 'shooter' come off as an asshole. not to mention a lot of autistic folks on this site probably are having trouble with your use of an unclear idiom that could mean different things to different people, and would include the context to their 'shot' because they dont really know what you mean without concise language.
girl why are you getting fresh with me about my own sexual preferences here??? 😭 sorry that i turned you down i guess. like i feel like if i’m doing a whole ask game dedicated to shooting one’s shot it isn’t sexual harassment to you know. proposition me. but tumblr asks have been enough to get me going before. skill issue if you can’t do it. you are incredibly pathetic, this is legit like whiny incel behaviour

Huey, Dewey and Louie Duck as superheroes - T-Squad - Regular T-Squad and My version of T-Squad - Red Shadow, Blue Cyclops and Green Avenger - Mantis Duck and Green Avenger (Spiderman meme-My redraw) - Gift for my friend (Quack Pack Adult AU) Superheroes - Quack Pack, Quack Pack AU and Duckverse - My style and My version - Happy late birthday to Huey, Dewey and Louie Duck - Superhero Day
I haven't drawn Huey, Dewey and Louie from the Quack Pack as superheroes in a while, so I drew them again, and it was on Superhero Day, which is celebrated on April 28th, because back in 1995, Marvel Comics declared that day as National Superhero Day. On April 15, 1938, the famous trio appeared in the classic Donald Duck short, called “Donald’s Nephews”, which will change the history of the Duckverse in part. I also did this for a belated birthday to my favorite trio after the Three Caballeros, which is Huey, Dewey and Louie Duck, and of course one of my favorite, and underrated, versions, from the Quack Pack. Happy birthday Huey, Dewey and Louie Duck! Although in my headcanon they celebrate their birthday on the same day as mine, also in the month of April.
It's not the first time I've drawn T-Squad, both versions, the official one from Quack Pack and one of my versions from Quack Pack AU, and you can see more of that here: https://ducktoonsfanart.tumblr.com/post/748315886828552192/huey-dewey-and-louie-duck-as-superheroes
The first drawing is my redraw in my style of Huey, Dewey and Louie as the T-Squad from Quack Pack, especially from the first episode “The Really Mighty Ducks”. T-Squad actually stands for the Tremendously Talented Trio of Truly Trusted Trouble-Shooters and is made up of Donald’s nephews. Huey is The Really Incredibly Fast Guy, Dewey is Brain Boy and Louie is Captain Muscle. Although they look funny, they certainly look very good to me as superheroes, because unfortunately there wasn’t much in the animation that they were depicted as superheroes.
The second drawing is my version of T-Squad, or how I prefer Huey, Dewey and Louie Duck to be as superheroes according to their personalities. They are also the successors of the main Disney Duck superheroes. Louie Duck is the Green Avenger (based on Duck Avenger), Dewey Duck is the Blue Cyclops (based on Gizmoduck) and Huey Duck is the Red Shadow (based on Darkwing Duck and Shadow). I specially drew them according to the modern model as it suits them. Otherwise they are part of my fanfiction related to the Duck Avenger and Darkwing Duck crossover, also related to the Donald Chronicles and the Quack Pack AU.
And the third drawing is kind of a redraw of the Spiderman meme about pointing out to others how they look alike, so I drew two versions of Louie Duck as a superhero. One is as Mantis Boy or rather Mantis Duck based on his TV and comic book superhero Mantis Boy (from the Quack Pack episode "None Like it Hot"), and the other is as Duck Avenger or Paperinix Junior or rather Green Avenger and they show each other why they are supposedly copying the same thing, since they are the same person, but they play different superheroes. Granted, Louie as Mantis Duck is not my version if you ask me, but from my friend who works at Quack Pack AU but where Huey, Dewey and Louie Duck grew up so this version is dedicated to her. Here in that drawing, Louie grew up as well as my version of Louie as the Green Avenger, who succeeded his uncle to be the Duck Avenger. In the drawing you also see what they say to each other. I just drew it in my own style in my own way.
I hope you like these drawings and my versions, as well as Huey, Dewey and Louie Duck being like superheroes. If you like it, feel free to like and reblog this (especially reblog), just don't copy my versions and my ideas without mentioning me. Also, don't copy the Mantis Duck version without mentioning my friend. Thanks! Once again, I wish you a happy Easter, a happy birthday to Huey, Dewey and Louie Duck, and a happy superhero day!
Also, this Mantis Duck version is dedicated to my friend @michimonie and her blog @quackpackau (although my version of Quack Pack AU is significantly different from hers), so I hope you like this.

Tim Drake would love video games sm tho, and I do not see that represented enough.
He'd be a total nerd about it to. He'd rant and rant and rant about all the games he's played and all the cheats and the secret cut scenes and the hidden lore. He'd be a game theorist for sure, probably has a YouTube account dedicated to it since he's such a little detective. He knows the true lore of FNaF.
He'd definitely speed run minecraft, rp to probably. First person shooter? How about first hand experience. FNaF fanatic oh my God he'd LOVE that game so fucking much. Absolutely a Sonic kid, like you cannot convince me otherwise. Mario less so but you knows hes probably played every single game anyways. Pokemon? Every single one memorized down to their exact coloration. Stardew valley? Do i even have to ask. Animal crossing? Perfected his village, villagers and all. Zelda? I cannot prove it but he has a lino Cosplay somewhere and he's worn it for under cover missions. He'd slay in DTI, have like 5 different mansions in Bloxburg, defiantly played Royal High until the capitalism became to close to the real world, probably has hundreds of avatars to. An expert at games like fnf has played half the mods to ever be made for that game. He's been playing fortnite since it's release. He'd have one of the top scores ever in subway surfers. He'd download those "complete your restaurant" type games and finish them in two weeks and it'd only take that long because the game forces him to wait sometimes. Candy crush is his bitch 100%. He'd download mobile games and finish them in a day and then keep redoing them till he's perfected his method. He has played and replayed countless driving based games, can learn almost any new one in 6 minutes. Going back to the speed run thing I think he'd just enjoy speed running games in general, and gridning. He'd love minecraft so much omg-. Last of us? Played. Iron Lung? Played. Cuphead? Played. Detroit Become Human? Played. Kindergarten? Played. Sallyface? Played. Splatoon? Played. He'd love small games to I just am not that into video games to know any to list- :').
I mean think about it. Going off the "Tim's parents are never home" version of him, he'd have so much time to just sit around and play video games. He has the money to buy them and the time to spend getting ungodly good at them. He'd have amazing equipment, and it'd give him some sort of community even if he doesn't really interact with it personally. Like if he's not out stalking Batman or at school, he's playing a video game. Even after he starts working for Batman, he'd overwork himself to the bone and he'd STILL find a way to go pro gamer in-between. Probably for like 0.5 seconds whenever he's got to stand up to get himself another energy drink.
Like please, video game nerd Tim Drake on my knees begging you add this to your stories and headcanons. Have him introduce other batfam members to video games. HAVE HIM INTRODCUE BRUCE TO CANDY CRUSH AND MAKE THEM GET INTO A COMPETITION ON WHO CAN GET TO A HIGHER LEVEL FASTER. He shows Damian animal crossing. He gives Jason a gaming console and like 50 different shooter games and one copy of stardew valley as a joke and did not expect Jason to get so into it. Him Cass and Steph would love those Roblox horror games. He'd force the whole family to start having game nights and they'd have a world on Minecraft that has the most insane lore you've ever heard. Like please give me more video game nerd Tim and tell me your headcanons on what games he'd like and what he'd introduce different batfam members to in the comment I am begging you.

can’t stop thinking about spider-man!vernon who’s adamant in keeping his superhero persona hidden despite you already clocking him in. every time you confront him about it, he deflects and changes the topic. he insists that you’re overthinking way too many things about him and that you ought to focus on your studies more, since you both know that it’s what you should be more busy about these days considering your below average marks lately due to your hyperfixation on the masked hero.
but you can’t help it. you’re way into your theory now that your closest friend in college happens to be the acclaimed spider-man. there’s a lot of instances in which he’s gone whenever spider-man’s being reported on television, in which he arrives in class the next day with his body aching and sometimes covered with little bandages on certain areas, and in which he can’t even look you in the eyes whenever he’s telling you that he’s certainly not who you think he is.
one day, you decide that you’ve had enough of his bad lying and invite to the rooftop of a building where you two typically hang out anyway whenever you have a free period. he initially doesn’t think that this is one of your schemes to get him to admit that he’s spider-man, but then you’re standing on the ledge and demanding that he better tell you the truth right now or else you’d have to resort into crazier means to make him admit his secret.
“____, what are you doing?” he asks, staring at you with wide eyes as you dangle a foot in mid-air. “you’re not… you’re not seriously—” his sentence gets cut off by the fact that you literally jump off the building, his eyes widening in surprise before he realizes that he has no options other than jumping after and saving you, revealing his identity in the midst of it as he uses his web-shooters to swing from one structure to another, successfully catching you who looks genuinely shaken up.
when he places you down, arriving at another building’s rooftop, he begins shouting at you, demanding why you did that, yet you only laugh in exhilaration, pointing at him. “i fucking knew it!” you say. “i knew you were spider-man!”
he stares at you in disbelief. he’s always been aware that you’d go to extreme lengths to get what you want, however it never occurred to him that you’d risk your life in order to trick him into proving that your guess is correct. nonetheless, he’s strangely impressed by your dedication and finds himself laughing alongside you at the ridiculousness of what just happened.
“never do that again,” he tells you but you shrug.
“will you always answer me honestly whenever i ask an important question?”
he sighs, absolutely defenseless. “do i have a choice at this point?”
“no.” you beam at him, hooking your arm around his. “but hey, thanks for saving my life, spider-man. i owe you.”
“again, did i have a choice?”
your contagious laughter fills his ears again and he rolls his eyes, allowing you to lead him to the staircase while you yap about the fact that your friend is a superhero. it’s endearing, he thinks to himself, and he’s at least happy that you’re one important person in his life that he no longer has to lie to.

I'm crying laughing, the DVDs are even worse than I remember... Season 1's menus are silent with a single static jpg of the same key character art they use for everything else, and the episodes on the Season 2 discs don't even match what's listed on the box! Absolutely stunning lack of shits given. Truly unparalleled. But I really shouldn't be surprised given... well... everything about how this series has been treated since the very beginning.
Time for a quick ~✨PHANDOM HISTORY LESSON✨~ to give newer/less hyperfixated folks more context for why the graphic novel being as great as it is is such a HUGE deal:
Danny Phantom was one of Nickelodeon's MAIN cartoons, in its time. It was a central pillar. One of the top three or four of their lineup, which is saying something when the competition includes the cultural juggernaut that is Spongebob.
Despite this, and despite its superhero theming making it perfectly marketable, it got basically ZERO official merch.
What little we did get was often ugly and very, very cheap. The dedication at the start of the graphic novel that jokes about collecting the Burger King toys? That's because it was some of the most notable merch the franchise EVER had. (I sadly do not have any of it. There was no BK in my hometown. Here's a pic from the internet, though, to give you an idea.)

If you think I'm exaggerating about that being the most significant physical merch to come out of the series, consider that the first video game had an entire menu option specifically for the Burger King promotional tie-in:
That video game, by the way, was one of only two ever based on the show. The first was an adaptation of "The Ultimate Enemy" in the style of a short sidescrolling beat-em-up, and the second was themed around "Urban Jungle" and (as far as I can tell--I've only played the first couple levels) was an arcade-style scrolling shooter. Both were for the Gameboy Advance, and both are...... fine, as far as cash-grabby video game tie-ins to kids' shows go. This was pretty normal for the time, so I suppose we did okay in that department, actually. They're not GOOD, but they're playable and have at least a bit of effort put into them.
But besides those two video games (plus a handful of simple, long-defunct Flash games on nick.com)? In the decade and a half since the show ended?
Nothing.
No books, no games, no comics, no web shorts--unless you count mega-crossovers with every other Nicktoon (a la Nicktoons Unite), or soulless promotional material like "Fairly Odd Phantom" (which, trust me, despite being the first new DP animation in over 10 years was not even worth the effort of watching).
...I think there was a limited edition FunkoPop once?
So yeah.
A Glitch in Time is not just the first cool, well-made thing we've seen from the franchise in a while. It's the first THING we've seen since the show. PERIOD. And arguably the first worthwhile supplementary material to EVER come out of the show, depending on how you feel about those GBA games and the Nicktoons crossovers.
This franchise is widely beloved even now, almost 20 years after it first aired, and it feels like that fact is now, finally, FINALLY getting some official recognition.
PLEASE read A Glitch in Time. Tell other people about it. The series--no, the fans--deserve this (and more of this, if the folks in charge see enough of a response and decide to grace us with any followup). It's LONG overdue, but better late than never.
#Danny Phantom#this is why I've been losing my mind repeating ''please buy it'' over and over btw#this is the FIRST and maybe ONLY time we'll ever get to directly show support for the series#it is a uniquely huge deal for this fandom#it's totally fine if you can't (or just still won't) buy it of course but I am begging folks to consider it IF they can.#not for any moral guilting or anything just.... for me. for the fandom. (for yourself because it's a cool story lmao)#long post

"you... want me to join your endurance stream?"
a small hum was met with your question as wonwoo took a sip from his can of black monster energy drink. "...but, why..?" you asked, completely confused.
it wasn't as if you didn't like the idea, though you were caught off guard as the only games you've ever played were... well, more catered towards your style of aesthetic. games such as animal crossing, melatonin, a little to the left.
wonwoo's taste in games on the other hand, they were what you'd expect from majority of the male demographic on earth ㅡ FNAF, first person shooter games, he has a huge obsession with chilla's art games (to which you understand why after watching his playthrough of 'the closing shift' and 'night delivery').
the usual horror, thriller and action genre is what you're getting at.
"reason number one, you're pretty. and no, i'm not trying to hit on you," he then proceeded to raise his hand as if he was taking an oath, "i swear i'm not. i meant it as in, who wouldn't want to watch a pretty girl play games? i know your preferred genre of games and mine are two different worlds but, i'm sure we can compromise."
wonwoo surveys both your surroundings, seemingly to check whether the coast was clear; before propping his arms onto the coffee table and leaning forward.
"reason number two being if you join, i'll be able to get seungcheol to join too."
"so, you're getting me to join so you can get cheol to join?" placing a hand over your chest, you faked betrayal, "i feel so hurt that you're only using me as bait, woo."
"hey, i also want you to join, okay?"
taking a sip from your milkshake, you stared at wonwoo, urging him to continue his explanation.
"___, please. i even had the whole process of the endurance stream planned out! i just need seungcheol hyung to say yes, and you're the key to getting him to say yes!"
"woo, you're friends, of course he'll agree! i don't understand how i play a role in this. i'm sure bantering with mingyu, or even trying a 'no cuss' bet with vernon would be enough to get him to say yes."
shaking his head while sighing, he muttered out a "it's not that simple..."
"woo, i seriously don't get it."
"___, i'm going to be extremely honest, okay?"
you shoot the male sitting front of you a confused look, which prompted him to take a sip of his drink.
"this isn't the first time i've done an endurance stream, i'm sure you know that too. and i'm sure you've seen seungcheol join them but, not all the time. you'll notice it's usually gyu or vernon with me and chat's pretty much made it an inside joke that hyung's a rare pokemon sighting on my streams."
you let out a small laugh at seungcheol being called a rare pokemon sighting, which makes wonwoo smile.
"and, as of late, i've noticed that whenever we hung out, seungcheol would be there too. regardless if he had a match the previous night and his entire body is sore."
"but... we're friends, no? why wouldn't he be there?"
"okay, allow me to rephrase that sentence."
"mmm?"
"seungcheol hyung will only say yes if you're there too."
you're mouth opened slightly, shocked and confused. as you tried to process wonwoo's sentence, he added on.
"and this is just my assumption based on what i've observed from the day vernon introduced you up to now."
"you sound like a psychiatrist, woo..."
"i am a psychology student, no?"
"touché. and what have you concluded from your observation, mr jeon?"
"i think seungcheol likes you."

Hello
I have a request for ghost a one shot where the reader is a member of 141 and she falls for him
You got it! ❤
Come a Little Closer
Pairing: Ghost x 141!reader (fem!reader)
Word Count: 5.3k, One-Shot
CW: strong language, fluff, bullying, slight mention of violence, one-shot, clear attraction
Let me know if I missed any CWs.
Story Synopsis: You have just joined the 141 and getting to know the boys has been a lot of fun. The only one that you seem to be having trouble getting close to is Ghost. It doesn’t stop you from having a crush on him or trying to catch his attention any chance you get.
Part 1 ~ Part 2
“Welcome to Task Force 141! I’m sure that you will find this team much more fitting to work with given your skills.” Price congratulated you as he escorted you to the base’s leisure room. Many of the soldiers hung around there to relax with drinks, television, billiards, and other games. The 141 was no exception.
You had been struggling with your assigned team on base. Teamwork and trust wasn’t there. A lot of it stemmed from jealousy as you demonstrated much better skills then they had on missions. You usually ended up taking home all the glory. However, the full picture was that the others often made mistakes or overlooked things. It wasn’t your fault that you were a perfectionist when it came to your job.
They still tried to make your life on base difficult in petty ways. Trashing your room in the barracks, stealing your clothes while you showered, bumping into you on purpose. It was very clear that the team you were assigned to before was full of people that peaked in high school and thought that the military was an easy way to make money despite being intelligently average at best.
Not you, though. You worked hard. You dedicated your time to getting better each day. You stuck to your work with maturity. Thankfully, Price noticed this pretty quickly when he was looking at recruit files. Nothing out of pity either since he didn’t know about the bullying. You didn’t report any of the bullying to anyone in order to keep peace and establish your maturity.
And now, you are reaping the rewards. Being assigned to the 141 team was a fresh start. When you walked into the leisure room, almost everyone looked up at you. Women didn’t often come into the room because it resembled something more like a man-cave. Beer bottles everywhere, sports usually on the TV, and a strong, masculine energy that often made women too uncomfortable to visit.
You, on the other hand, found it exciting. You really wanted to hang with the big boys. Earn your place. Prove to everyone that you deserve to be on the base and a part of the 141 as their newest member. That started with getting to know your new teammates.
Gaz, Soap, and Ghost were surrounding a pool table, clearly in the middle of a game. Whoever was solids was getting absolutely destroyed. When Price and you got closer, they stood at attention. Price waved his hand, putting them at ease. “Men, this is our new member. She has incredible skills that are sure to add to our team’s strength. A sharp-shooter, highly intelligent, and great with hand-to-hand combat.”
You smiled brightly as you finally introduced yourself. It was time to make a great impression. Plus, you already felt like you could be yourself while doing it. “Y/n. Thank you for this opportunity. My condolences as well to you, Soap.”
Soap raised a brow in confusion, clearly not understanding what you were talking about. “Pardon?”
“Your loss. At billiards. What a brutal way to lose too. You might as well give up now and give Gaz the betting money.” You smirked, eyeing the expressions light up at your quick-wit and observation skills. Gaz and Soap were the only ones holding pool sticks. A couple bills rested on the side of the table. Their expressions before they noticed you and Price gave away who was winning and who was losing.
“Well, the newbie is sharp. You should listen to her while you still have your dignity, Johnny.” Gaz laughed, already accepting you fully into the team. Soap shot him a glare before turning to you with a mischievous look on his face.
“You think you can turn this game around for me, y/n?” He inquired, pool stick already being held out to you. Smiling like a kid on Christmas, you took the stick to play.
Kyle was quick to protest Soap’s sly move. “That’s cheating! Don’t make her do your dirty work for you, Soap. Just take the loss, bruv.”
You fished your wallet out from your back pocket, taking out a few bills of your own to add to the betting pool. “How about this? If I can beat Gaz by starting off with Soap’s miserable disadvantage, I get all the money. If I don’t, then Gaz takes all.”
Soap and Gaz looked to each other, and then to Ghost who just sat in his stool, overlooking the entire game as their referee in a sense. He’s been watching the situation unfold carefully even since you walked into the room. You caught his eye when you entered. Not many women were working at the base in general, let alone waltzing into a presumed boys-only club like you have always belonged. Not only that, your deduction skills were sharp. Your smile was optimistic. You seemed to have no fear in any of the changes you were going through.
Out of curiosity to see if you could put your money where your mouth was, he nodded. His deep, rich voice lit a little fire inside you as he finally spoke. “I’ll allow it.”
You took the stick from Soap and looked at the table, examining your situation entirely. Everything was considered as you planned your move. The position of your remaining balls, Gaz’s, even the weight of the stick in your hand. Doing the mental math, you carefully lined up a shot, your form perfect and deliberate. The margin of error wasn’t something to scoff at. You were a perfectionist when it came to your job, after all. This, you considered to be part of your job.
As you posed yourself on the table for the shot, Ghost couldn’t help but look over your form. Neither could most of the other guys in the room since women coming in was rare, but his opinion mattered the most. You were on his team now. He was going to be working with you nearly every day from here on out.
And damn, did you look fine bending over the table like that.
You took a deep breath as you struck the cue ball, having it hop over Gaz’s stripe in front of it to hit the solids behind. From the force, the solids scattered, three of them sinking based on pure luck. You stood up from your position, satisfied from your play. Bewildered expressions looked between you and the game. “Your move, Garrick.”
And just like that, you earned more respect from your team. Price chuckled at Kyle’s nervous look, now realizing that he was probably going to lose all his money if your skills and luck withstood for the rest of the game. It seemed like he had nothing to worry about when it came to you. You fit right in like a piece of their puzzle.
~
The following several weeks have been a blast for you. You have gotten close to your team in a way that made the base feel more like home to you. They helped you train, gave you pointers, invited you to meals, and played all the games you wanted to play. Except, they no longer wanted to put money on the table lest you rob them blind.
The relationship between everyone was a breath of fresh air for you as well. No fighting, no bullying, no arguments. They clearly respected each other. They respected you too. There was teasing a lot of the time, but it was all out of friendliness and brotherhood.
The only thing you were wary about was Ghost. You’ve caught him staring at you on occasion, his eyes giving nothing away once you noticed his gaze. He didn’t talk to you much either. But you knew that he noticed you. You knew when too, given that you were growing attracted to him.
Ghost has always been a legend around the base. He had impressive records of nearly every scoreboard around the training centers. Tales of his missions spread like wildfire each time he would return from deployment. The rest of the team was equally as impressive as well. Yet, there tended to be more of a buzz when it came to Ghost. Part of it was due to his expertise. Another part of it was the mystery of the skull mask he always wore. The last part of it was his physique. He was huge compared to a lot of the guys around here.
You were no exception to the admiration bandwagon. Seeing Ghost’s records and hearing the stories actually inspired you to hang in there with training. You aimed to be strong, resolute, and confident in work just as he is. However, that was purely a muse infatuation. Nothing more than looking at him as a prime example of what a soldier should be. Now, you began to see him differently.
It started with the little things. Subtle shifts in his body language, changes in tone when circumstances changed. You took notice of those things as a means to find a way into getting more friendly with him. As you continued to observe, however, you felt your body reacting more to his being. The way he towers over you with his massive frame. The way his muscles flex with each movement when you sparred. The way his fingers lightly brush against yours when you hand him completed paperwork.
There were moments of chivalry from Ghost too that never failed to make your heart hammer inside your chest. He’s caught you from losing your balance when you tried to reach for a file that was too high on a shelf a couple of times. His hands would instinctively grab your waist, pull you close to him, and anchor himself to stay steady from the force of your fall. He never failed to ask you if you were okay as well in that baritone voice you began to get butterflies from. It didn’t take long until he began reaching for things you needed for you after those instances.
Ghost has also taken up the habit of always opening the car door for you, making sure you could get your spot sitting in the middle without having to crawl over anyone. Even in instances of realistic training, having to rush into a vehicle as quickly as they could, Ghost always made sure the door was open for you to get in first. The close proximity to him given how small the backseat usually was contributed to your growing crush on him too.
On the surface, Ghost never seemed to mind helping you out. Many of his new habits were taken upon himself once he began working with you. Yet, he still never really talked much to you and you could never decipher his staring. It made you worried that he was growing resentment over feeling like he needed to help you out with the mundane.
Ghost still had a strong wall when it came to you. However, you were determined to break it down.
~
It was the first Saturday night back on base after a tense, two-week long deployment. For the first time, the 141 saw you in action. You picked things up quick, you followed orders to a tee, and you were spot-on with your sniper. It certainly helped the team get things done, but it didn’t stop the mission from being long and dangerous. There were a couple of medical scares, plenty of gunfire, and a few secrets revealed. It didn’t end until you put a bullet through the target’s brain.
So, the team wanted to decompress on their first Saturday back on base. They also wanted to congratulate you for getting the final snipe on the terrorist leader they were hunting. It was your first deployment with them, something that also deserved to be celebrated too.
The team headed out to a nearby bar. A hole-in-the-wall kind of place that not a lot of people knew about. A classic place with an old-school jukebox, war-plane memorabilia, and a simple bar menu. After buying you your first couple of drinks, the men began to disperse to socialize and see if they could get a little lucky tonight. All except for you and Ghost who sat quietly at the bar, drinks in hand. The silence between the two of you was awkward at first. At this point, you have never been in a casual setting alone with him. You were either working with him or the rest of the boys were with you.
However, to say nothing would be a wasted opportunity. Even if being alone with him made you feel gooey inside like a school-girl with her first crush, you still wanted to know him better. Soap had given you good information about him to use too.
Casually, you took a slow slip of your liquid courage. “Johnny says you have a good sense of humor.”
Underneath the mask, Ghost quirked a brow. He didn’t realize that you talked about him with his teammates when he wasn’t around. He wondered what else you talked about when he couldn’t be there with you. For now, he played along. “It’s dark humor. Probably not your cup of tea.”
When he looked at you, he saw a bright light. Clever, ambitious, brave. Ultimately sweet too. Along with him acting chivalrous for you, you have been considerate of him as well. You often brought tea to the team, but Ghost’s cup was always different. You always brought his favorite tea flavored exactly how he liked it. Everyone else liked theirs plain. He liked his with a little milk.
You have also tidied his desk a few times after he complained about not finding something he needed. He never knew how it would get so messy. Before he knew it, his desk would look like a tornado ran through it. However, you would straighten it just enough for him to find what he needs. Enough to jog his memory of where he put it down without having to look through unfamiliar organization.
In his mind, you were someone that needed to be protected for the darkness of the world. Starting with himself and his dark humor.
Still, you persisted. “Try me.”
Ghost looked at you for a moment, causing your heart to skip a beat. You could see him contemplating something. Fortunately, he let you have this one. After the past two weeks, you deserved just a little glimpse into who Ghost really was as a person. “Why don’t blind people skydive?”
“Why?” You grinned, eager to hear the punchline. Finally, you were talking with Ghost like this!
“Scare the shit out of their dogs.” He finished, taking a sip of his bourbon while waiting for your reaction. He expected you to scrunch your nose up in disgust or give a fake laugh just to humor him.
Instead, he was graced with your genuine laughter. You actually found the joke pretty hilarious. “Damn, that’s pretty good! Alright, I got one for you. Why did Sally fall off the swingset?”
A small smile crept along his face as you began your own joke. “Why?”
“She doesn’t have any arms. Here’s another one. Knock knock.” You continued, not feeling at all discouraged by his lack of laughter at the first joke. The second half was always better.
“Who’s there?” He followed along.
“Not Sally.” You finished, earning yourself an honest chuckle out of him. This was the first time you have seen him smile and laugh. The sight made you feel warm and fuzzy. Slowly, the crush you had was turning into something more. You actually imagined a future with him for a second.
His voice snapped you out of your thoughts, garnering your full, undivided attention just as he gave you his. “That was actually pretty funny. I’ll give you that one.”
Before Ghost knew it, his walls were crumbling down as you exchanged jokes and laughter with him. His own curiosity about you was turning into something that he didn’t think he would ever have for himself.
~
You and Ghost had been growing closer ever since breaking the ice at the bar. He felt more comfortable talking to you casually, you felt more comfortable asking for his help, and there was more peace within yourself as you learned that Ghost never harbored resentment towards you. He was just a little rough around the edges.
For some reason, that made him even more attractive to you. The thought that you have actually been able to get his guard down around you had you chipper than a songbird in the morning. You’ve been eating up his special attention too. Every time the team went out, Ghost and you would always find the time to talk. Just the two of you. It had you over the moon each time.
Despite your growing feelings, you kept them to yourself. You didn’t want to ruin the peace that you have so carefully inserted yourself into. You didn’t want to jeopardize your friendship with him as well. It took a lot of time to get to where you were at with him. Being open about your love for him wasn’t worth the risk.
However, it didn’t stop you from daydreaming. You often found yourself daydreaming about what it would be like if Ghost was your boyfriend. You haven’t seen his face yet or used his real name even though you already knew it. Yet, you knew that he was devilishly handsome and his name would feel incredibly on your lips. You wondered what kind of pet name he would pick out for you if he was the type.
You even thought about what he may be like between the sheets. It was hard not to imagine it when you sparred, feeling just how powerful he could be when it came to getting what he wanted.
Jesus, you were down so bad for him.
Your daydreaming continued as you showered in the community bathroom. It was late at night, most soldiers already turned in for the night. You had just gotten back from another great night at the bar with your team. Humming and bathing, you didn’t even notice the door to the bathrooms open up.
Once you were all done, you wrapped a towel around yourself and stepped out of the stall in order to grab your clothes. However, you were surprised to see that they were missing. This kind of thing hasn’t happened in a while. You nearly forgot that it did since you were having such a great time with your new team.
How could your old teammates still hate you after being gone already too? To even go as far as to pull this kind of shit again?
You sighed in frustration, looking around the bathroom to see if the culprits were still hanging around. When you found no one, you tightened the towel around your torso and prepared to head to your room as quickly and quietly as possible.
The barrick halls were quiet save for a few snores from behind locked doors. Your hair was dripping water along the beige tiles. The stone was cold under your bare feet. The halls seemed freshly waxed too. If you weren’t careful, you could genuinely fall and break your neck.
As you carefully made your way to your room, you could hear footsteps behind you. As soon as he called your name, your cheeks began to turn red in embarrassment.
Ghost was taken aback by your appearance. You were in nothing but a blue towel, dripping hair creating a slipping hazard in your path. In and outside of work, you were careful to keep up appearances. You didn’t seem like the type to shower and walk the halls nude.
It would be a lie if the only feeling he had was concern, though. At the same time, his feelings of attraction towards you began to stir. Something that has been getting harder to fight since meeting you.
You gave a nervous laugh, refusing to turn around to face him. This was mortifying. “H-Hey! I forgot my clothes back in my room. Guess I had one too many from earlier. My room isn’t much farther now. So. . . what are you doing here in this part of the barracks?”
From his jacket pocket, he pulled out a wallet. Your wallet. You haven’t even noticed that it was missing. “Found this in the backseat of the car. Figured that you would be missing it sooner rather than later.”
Now, you were hoping that someone would assassinate you to save you from embarrassment. Perhaps your white lie earlier was actually a little true. More importantly, it felt like Ghost was giving you no choice but to completely turn around. But, you couldn’t possibly face him like this. Face on fire, heart racing, breath shuttering. What started as a fun night was now one of your most humiliating ones.
“Thanks, Ghost. . . Do uh. . . Do you think you can hand it to me after I change?” You scrambled, trying to find the most graceful solution to your predicament. Out of the corner of your eyes, you could see Ghost avert his gaze and give you a nod, trying to give you as much privacy as he could given the circumstances.
Awkwardly, he followed you to your room, trying not to completely violate you with his eyes. It was difficult trying to determine what was enough distance to put between the two of you. Ghost wanted to be right next to you, shielding you from the world as you were obviously very uncomfortable. At the same time, he didn’t want to upset you by crossing a boundary.
On top of that, he really wanted to see what was under that fluffy towel of yours. It was an involuntary thought, but he still felt horrible about it.
Finally, you approached your room and took out the key that you made a habit of hiding in your shower caddy rather than with your clothes. However, it became apparent that despite having locked the door, it didn’t stop anyone from invading your space.
When you opened the door and turned on the light, you revealed a complete disaster. Bedsheets ripped to shreds, mattress stained with beer, personal belongings destroyed. Even family pictures that you so delicately framed on your walls were scattered along the floor, broken glass everywhere. Your dresser had been rifled with as well, all of your clothes ruined from various stains, rips, and wrinkles.
Everything was damaged. All of it. And you didn’t understand why. It has never been this bad before. Why now?
When Ghost noticed that you haven’t walked into your room yet, frozen in a state of shock, he finally walked over. He nearly took a step back himself when he noticed all the damage. He’s never seen anything like this before. It made him upset immediately.
No, not just upset. Furious. How could anyone think this was okay? How could anyone do this to you?! Ghost clenched his fists and his jaw, trying not to explode with fury. At first, he wanted to make his anger be known for all the barracks to see. He wanted to call everyone out of their rooms and force a confession. He would then beat the absolute shit out of the culprit right in front of everyone.
However, that’s not what you needed right now. It’s probably not what you would’ve wanted either. Over the time he’s spent with you, he has realized that you preferred logical, calm, and peaceful solutions. You didn’t want to embarrass yourself or anyone else from calling attention to mistakes. You took care of things with grace. Yet now, you looked like you were going to fall apart.
Ghost was quick to realize that this wasn’t a sudden attack based on your expression. This was something that you have been dealing with for a while. It just got to its worst tonight. If he had to guess, he would guess that you hadn’t just forgotten your clothes back in your room either. He wouldn’t be surprised if they were stolen.
The fucking bullies were gonna make you walk around the whole base naked. Ghost really wanted to kill someone now.
But first, he had to take care of you. Swiftly, he removed his jacket and draped it over your shoulders, covering you up as best as he could. Your attention trained on the disaster that was your room slowly began to shift towards Ghost as the warmth of his jacket seeped into your chilly shoulders. Gingerly, he draped wrapped his arm around you, using his body to cover you up even more. “Let’s go, love. I’ll take care of you.”
Needing comfort, you followed Ghost closely, not minding at all how close he was pressed to you as you walked side by side. His warmth was welcomed as you shivered from the chill of being nude and the shock of losing your valuables. With the pace you kept up with, it didn’t take long for the both of you to approach the door to a different room across the base.
Ghost’s room.
He unlocked the door and ushered you in, making sure that no one saw you out in the hallways. Once the coast was clear, he closed the door and turned on the light. Compared to his desk, his room was pretty clean. His bed was made perfectly, his clothes were all put away, and his TV stand was free of clutter. The whole room smelled of him too. Teakwood, leather, and bourbon.
You almost couldn’t believe it. You were really inside of Ghost’s room, a place that not even the other 141 men have ever been in. As you looked around, Ghost went through his dresser for suitable clothes for you. Soon after he began looking, he picked out one of his shirts and adjustable pajama pants to wear. “Here. I’ll turn my back.”
Silently, you began to dress in his clothes, your senses flooding even more with everything that was Ghost. The t-shirt and pants were large on your frame, but they were warm and soft. It covered you well enough too. As soon as you were done, Ghost turned back around. Once he saw you, it was like his breath was stolen straight from his lungs. He didn’t think that you would look so good in his clothes. As oversized on you as they were, he still found it perfect.
He cleared his throat, regaining his composure at the sight of you. You yourself were feeling restless about being in his private space. The way he looked at you, the way he protected you, and the way he held you made you really realize that you definitely had more than a crush on him. You fell in love with him.
With each gesture that he made towards you, you fell even deeper for him. You could hardly find the words to say back when he spoke so softly towards you. “Take my bed tonight, love. We’ll get you squared away with a new room first thing tomorrow.”
Not wanting to make you feel more uncomfortable than you probably already were, Ghost attempted to make his way out. However, you grabbed the back of his shirt, making him freeze. You couldn’t just take his space without at least sharing some gratitude. You were grateful, and he deserved to know it. Besides that, you saw this as more of an opportunity to be with him. You were getting greedy. “Thank you, Simon. But. . . do you mind staying? If you want to leave after I fall asleep, that’s fine. I just. . . don’t want to be alone tonight.”
At the sound of his name upon your lips, he melted. He could feel all of his insides heat up as you said his real name. As dangerous as it was now to be alone with you, he could never say no. Not when you asked him like that.
“Get into bed. I’ll turn off the light.” He agreed. Relief washed over you as he reached for the light switch and waited. As soon as you got into his bed, cozied up in soft, clean sheets, the room went dark.
You could hear the shifting of clothes as he changed into something more comfortable. With the moonlight shining through the window, you could just make out his broad, bare chest, strong shoulders, and scars along his toned body. You hoped he didn’t notice you staring as he got changed, your gaze not even breaking once as he began unbuckling his belt. A part of you was hoping that he would crawl into bed with you half naked like that.
After he threw on some pajama pants and a cotton t-shirt, he reached for his mask. For a moment, he contemplated taking it off. You were still in the room with him after all. Was he ready to show you his face, even in the dark?
Finally, he decided that he was. Not just ready to show you, but ready to pursue you too. You’ve earned everything from him. His respect, his praise, his space, and his trust. You even earned his heart as he realized that he had fallen for you. His bright light. The perfect puzzle piece in his life. It was scary how seamless you seemed to insert yourself right into his life and his team. However, he wasn’t going to take it for granted. You belonged with them. With him.
Whoever wanted to mess with that was going to face Ghost’s wrath. Starting tomorrow after he helped you get a new room.
Now, he removed his mask, revealing how right you were about him being devilishly handsome. His defined jaw, his perfect lips, his silky blonde hair. You could shower it all with kisses if you could.
He got into bed with you after the mask was off, his body heat immediately warming up the bed. Still keeping some comfortable boundaries, Simon made sure to leave some space between the two of you. You didn’t mind it. You were just happy to have gotten this far with him. Perhaps having a romantic relationship with him wasn’t completely off the table after all.
When he finally settled in, you whispered good night. “Really, Simon, thank you so much.”
“Don’t mention it, love. Just try to sleep tonight.” He humbly brushed off, his heart bursting at the seams with how sweet you sounded in your gratitude. He couldn’t seem to stop himself from calling you by the new, truthful nickname either. Something that your own heart couldn’t get enough of.
It didn’t take you long to fall asleep, the comfort of Simon being with you like this much too nice to fight. Once he knew you were fast asleep, he began to try to rest as well. Eventually, he took the risk and wrapped his arms around you while he slept. He normally had a hard time sleeping. Nightmares usually kept him up. However, tonight was different. He felt more at ease with you even if you did make his heart race at the same time. For the first time in a long time, he managed to have a good night’s sleep.
All it took was to have you in his arms.
