It’s already over 2,500 words and I have Jamie only finally having finished talking about Pre Dad and Beginning of Dad time.

“But the shine on having a kid with learning difficulties despite mad footy skills faded pretty quick. I’m dyslexic, so I stayed late after school working on how to get better at me reading. Or having someone doing reading with me so I could do me homework faster.

He wanted me to spend that time getting better at playing. And it didn’t matter explaining that all the academies have education requirements. Which is when he really started in on the names, didn’t he?

Which I were already used to with me classmates. People were either too smart, which were considered bad. Or normal which was good. Or…I don’t actually gotta use the word, right?”

And he finally looked up but it was to lock eyes with Doc Sharon. She was the one who told him that ‘facing reality’ didn’t mean accepting the labels others put on him. That was a phrase society used to keep people down.

She didn’t disappoint, letting him know with a nod that he was okay not saying it. Roy had taken an especially deep breath right after he said it, making him brace for whatever he was gonna hear from the coach. But he didn’t say anything at all. Plus Keeley had grabbed his hand when he said that, which were nice. It kind of felt like the whole room disagreed with his dad actually.

“Like, I know even now people think I’m thick. Which can be true. But I actually like learning. Just gotta do a couple extra steps to really do it properly. It doesn’t make me stupid, cause the actually stupid thing to so would be giving up just cause things are hard.

And I don’t do that. I’m not afraid of hard work. Wouldn’t have gotten to the professional level at all if I were. And wouldn’t have come back to Richmond if I let having to prove I deserved to be here intimidate me.”

5. Tom O’Brien

Tom, your kink is not my kink, but you’re unembarrassed about being a freak and I respect that. Also, seems you took being replaced by Zoreaux/Van Damme/Zorro as goalkeeper in your stride. Nothing about you make sense to me, and I dig that. 

4. Robbie Roberts.

All right, this is shallow as fuck (then again, they’re background characters, not like I have a whole lot of deep stuff to go on), but I just think he looks really hot at the City game in 3x11.

Look at his face! This man wants it. This man is ready. This man can pull off bright pink in a way Jamie would kill for (if he had the brains to understand that he doesn’t wear it as well as Robbie does). Good thing our favourite Tartt is substituted after scoring that goal, because my boy Robbie deserves to play more. (Yes, I could have edited the pic to leave Jamie out. I stand by my choices.)

Also, look at him tapping Jamie’s shoulder as he runs past to take his place! Never noticed before, LOVE it. (Jamie, it seems, does not love it, but he’s a cranky baby who hurt his ankle, so we must forgive him.)

3. Declan Cockburn

Questionable opinions regarding leaked nudes aside, this man is a gentle giant to me. He’s not very bright, perhaps (but this is Richmond AFC, a team of himbos, so who is), and doesn’t always catch the nuances but is happy enough to go along with most of whatever. A quietly caring friend. Good in a brawl. Hums while he cooks. Looks nifty sporting an earring. Probably has a wife and several small children.

(I resent the accusation that my favourite players are mostly players who are nice to Jamie. Even though that accusation is one hundred percent true.)

2. Jeff Goodman

Listen. Listen. Jeff is probably a bit of an asshole (man’s just got that look, you know; also see my next point), BUT just like me he is genuinely fond of Jamie even when Jamie is a prick, so yeah. We’re two peas in a pod, Jeff and I. The lack of Jeff in fic is criminal (and I count myself amongst the guilty ones: we need to step it the hell up, fam). What is this silly Jamie fanboy up to in his spare time? Does his girlfriend get tired of him talking about his fucking colleague all the time? Is he bitter about Jamie hanging out so much with Sam and Dani these days? Does he have a favourite colour? A dish he likes to cook? What’s going on in that head of yours, Jeff? Inquiring minds want to know.

My darling. My baby. My man of the glorious, glorious hair and interesting looks! Yeah, I don’t know. Just. He’s so dainty and seems really cool and level-headed in a way that goes way beyond his years and. I am inexplicably very, very fond of Sasha, all right? Whenever I see him chilling in the background my heart does a little dance. Best background Richmond AFC player because of reasons unknown. I have spoken.

Loved your new fic so much! Personally think new members absolutely need a list of all the team's stuffed animals. I feel like some like the likes of Reynolds, Colin and Sam had ones they had from childhood whereas the likes of Isaac, Jamie and Jan were talked into buying or were gifted ones. They probably have rules about not having the same species of animal toys as well because they're all insane...Richard's and Jan argue that their toys are actually a mountain goat and a domesticated goat despite that literally still being the same species and them literally having the same toy. I have so many thoughts on this would love to hear yours

So I've thought about it and this is what I have:

Tom O’Brien - A sheep, because his granddad was a sheep farmer.

Arlo Dixon - A cuddly corgi, which his now ex-wife maintains he loves more than her.

Tommy Winchester - A bear knitted by his nan. It is lopsided and only vaguely resembles a bear but he loves it.

Isaac McAdoo - A Build-A-Bear given to him by Colin as a joke. Neither of them can remember the joke but Isaac loves the bear as much as he loves Colin. He asked his mum to make the bear a little captain's armband after he became captain.

Sasha Kukoč - A frog, because he likes Kermit the frog.

Richard Montlaur - A mountain goat given to him by his nephew before he left for England. He actually hates goats but he loves his nephew so the goat stays.

Jamie Tartt - A shark, given to him by the team after the Dubai Air protest. He will never admit it but the shark means a lot to him. When he was at Richmond the first time he didn’t have anything and laughed at the immaturity of the rest of the team.

Colin Hughes - A dragon. After he comes out the team buys him a rainbow dragon and he takes both of them to games.

Jan Maas - An Octopus. Jan was going to be a marine biologist if he wasn’t a footballer. When he first joins Richmond he maintains he does not have a cuddly toy so Colin and Jeff steal the octopus, Jan didn’t speak to them for a month despite no harm being done.

Dani Rojas - When he first moves to England, nothing, because he didn’t want to lose an old friend on the journey over, until the comment about being a raven haired golden retriever results in Isaac getting him a golden retriever.

Robbie Roberts - A cat, because he is allergic to cats and his sister thought it was funny when they were kids.

Jeff Goodman - A highland cow, because they are both ginger. He has to keep reminding people he is from Yorkshire, not Scotland.

Babatunde - A raccoon, because he thinks they are cute and fun to watch

Declan Cockburn - A cuddly plant because he can not keep plants alive to save his life.

Paul Reynolds - Originally a Leprechaun he bought over from Ireland with him, however he ends up with a cuddly olive given to him by O’Brien after his daughter, Olivia, is born.

Moe Bumbercatch - A one eyed sloth he won on a claw machine when he was a teenager

Martin De Maat - Misunderstood and actually has a cushion with a picture of a donkey on it.

Sam Obisanya - A dog he has had since he was a baby. When he was with Rebecca the poor thing got hidden in the wardrobe but now it is back on his bed.

Kyle McCraken - A squid, which in part led to being called Squid Game. He is still upset that you can’t get a cuddly kraken.

Bhargava - A peacock, he shrugs when asked questions about it.

Anders Rosenfeldt - A rag doll because his girlfriend got it for him when he said he needed a cuddly friend for away games.

Thierry Zoreaux - A moose holding the canadian flag. If Paul and Colin can have something from their home countries, so can he.

Will Kitman - A very tired looking elephant that he has had since he was a baby. If it can survive university it can survive a football team.

Bonus:

Roy - A very grumpy unicorn given to him by Phoebe for his first ever Uncle's day. No one had ever seen it until they were in the championship and they played away at Rotherham when the fire alarm in the hotel went off, Roy grabbed the unicorn and took it with him outside. Jamie and Colin laughed, resulting in them having to run laps once they were back in Richmond and they both had to apologise to the unicorn in front of the whole team.

Beard - A hedgehog. No one knows why and he refuses to answer questions.

So apparently, before Declan O’Brien died (the director who made WT 3,4,5) he planned on making the 6th one which would have a plot with Lita (the eyeless girl at the end of WT5) being a survivor after enduring months/years of torture and rape (This was said in an interview in the “Behind the Scenes” category) . I have a theory that in Wrong Turn 3, even though we watched Three-finger die, we saw ANOTHER cannibal at the very end kill off a dude. What if that cannibal was supposed to be the offspring of Lita and the brothers? Just my personal theory at the moment. What do you think about it?

Tbh I'm kinda glad that didn't happen (tho RIP to Declan) as I ain't a fan of that idea, but if that was his idea I'd assume that was the idea for the mystery cannibal at the end of WT3, though does that mean the idea of WT5 was planned before WT3??

Either way I don't care for the idea, it just doesn't feel like it fits.

I also find it funny how strikingly different 3, 4 and 5 are yet directed by the same fucking guy?? Like how is 4 better then 3 and 5, also why is the 5th so out of character for the characters???

Personally I'd change the 5th one a lot cause it just doesn't work with 1 and 2, also adds a lot of holes about how it works with the 4th.

Personally I'd change 3 and 5 altogether 😌
