20 Questions for Fic Writers
Thanks for the tag @esmealux ❤️❤️
How many works do you have on AO3?
I have 29 works on AO3. I've been working on a new Lucifer fic for the past 2 years on and off (mostly off) and that'll be my 30th on the site. However, I do have 63 works on ff.net (29 of them are the same) from various fandoms.
What's your total AO3 word count? As of right now, I have a word count of 179,925 words on AO3. I know that total is sometimes some writers' word count for a single fic. ;)
What fandoms do you write for?
Right now, it's mainly Lucifer (and Supernatural). I've been writing fanfics since I was a sophomore in high school. On ff.net I have written for (in no particular order): Bewitched, The Big Bang Theory, Castle, Doctor Who, Forever, Heroes, Jimmy Neutron, Lucifer, Smallville, Supernatural, Timeless, and Will & Grace.
Top five fics by kudos:
The More Things Change... (Lucifer): 1,090 kudos
Been Down This Road Before (Supernatural): 621 kudos
A Unique Guilt Trip (Lucifer): 548 kudos
Trick-Or-Treating Revelations (Lucifer): 543 kudos
Thanks For Listening (Lucifer): 449 kudos
Do you respond to comments?
Yes! I try to respond to every comment if I can... at least on AO3.
What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
I don't actually write angsty endings. All my fics have happy endings actually. ❤️
What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Oh, wow. Since all my fics have happy endings, it's hard to choose just one... for the ones I wrote over a decade ago, honestly, I can't remember... LOL. Read them if you so choose and pick your own. ;)
Do you get hate on fics?
I would get hate on fics on ff.net but thankfully (not so far) on AO3. When I first started writing fanfics, I interpreted some helpful advice AS hate, but it really wasn't. Thankfully the response is mostly positive on my writing. Sometimes I'll still get some "hate" on ff.net, but I still feel an obligation to post there for consistency since I cross-posted since getting an AO3 account.
Do you write smut?
No. (But I read it).
Craziest crossover:
The only crossover I have written was a Castle & Forever crossover that can be found on ff.net and AO3 called Ties That Bind.
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not to my knowledge.
Have you ever had a fic translated?
I think somebody wanted to translate one of my older Smallville fics back in the day. Honestly, I can't remember which one or if it came to fruition.
Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Not to my memory, but I used to beta all the time for Smallville. And I was a "consultant" on a fanfic on AO3 from a friend for a Forever and Quantum Leap crossover fic. Plus, I bounce ideas off with fandom friends in the Lucifer fanfiction world. ❤️
All time favorite ship?
Uhhhhhhhhhh... I can't say an all-time favorite ship because I love all of my ships equally. But I'll settle for my top two: Clois (Clark Kent and Lois Lane) and Deckerstar (Chloe Decker and Lucifer Morningstar).
What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I've had a WIP for Sherlock/Sherlolly in my documents for quite a few years. It's a time travel one where Sherlock from post S4 gets sent back to the time between the end of S1 & beginning of S2. I don't think that one is ever gonna be finished to be honest. I never post fics until they're finished anyway, so at least there won't be anybody disappointed. ;)
What are your writing strengths?
I try to pride myself on the characters being written in-character - where the reader can actually picture the actor's expressions, mannerisms, etc - like they're watching an episode. Dialogue is definitely where I excel.
What are your writing weaknesses?
I really suck at descriptions. I'm not gonna lie. I have tried to work on setting the scene and character movements, etc but I still struggle with those factors.
Thoughts on dialogue in another language?
I'm not really great at it. If the character is known to say words or phrases in another language, I might write it in a few times, but nothing that needs a long translation.
First fandom you wrote in?
Jimmy Neutron (on ff.net) when I was about 16 years old.
Favorite fic you've written?
I have a few, but honestly I'm more proud of my Lucifer stories and my one Supernatural story, so I'd have to go with a tie between my first ever Lucifer fic: The More Things Change... and my Supernatural fic: Been Down This Road Before. And right now the Lucifer fic I've been working on for 2 years is quickly becoming a favorite too. LOL. We'll see if people like it once I've finished it and started posting. ❤️
---------
Tagging a few of my fandom friends: @my-crazy-awesome-sox, @mightbeawriter, @wendeckerstart, @kaykat666, @thewollfgang and anyone else who wants to or feels inclined to do it! And to those that I tagged, please don't feel obliged to do it. Love oo!! ❤️

Head-canon:
Darkness can represent:
Negativity. Toxicity and captivity (along with destruction)
Which makes sense since Blitz is known for burning bridges and he is seen “captive” (psychologically) by Stolas; because he thinks all he wants from him is just sex (even though that was originally the plan to begin with before Blitz probably started getting feelings lol)
Blitz is darkest parts (the less coloured) are most likely negative and toxic in these relationships:
Fizzarolli >>> fell out and is his arch rival
Verosika >>> broke up and probably does feels shit for the way he had treated her
• I theorise that as soon as he had broken up with her was when he had adopted Loona thereafter
* Or how do we know she didn’t do anything just as bad? (We don’t because yes let’s all blame Blitz for everything since he’s the antagonistic character)
Striker >>> Not much to be said except for let him get away after he attempted to assassinate Stolas - so Blitz feels guilty about it maybe?
Light represents:
Understanding & intellectual thought (well duh Blitz in his psychological torment; so that’s a no-brainer! Pun intended 😆)
But it can also mean goodness and reality
Stolas:
He wasn’t in the dark with everyone else as mentioned, he was into the light… representing that he could be the reason for Blitz to get out of that self-hatred (via Stolas’s kindness and affection)
Almost like reaching out for help
Or signifying a healthier relationship (hence the eradication of self-hatred) and that would probably help Blitz to stop erasing himself from photos with friends and family
* It even said Blitz wanted self respect for himself and his peers for one of his goals in his bio
Moxxie:
Who started off in the dark (in representation of Blitz’s current relationship with his employee) BUT I noticed how he went from dark to light
* I know he was following Blitz up the stairs to a hallucinogenic Stolas but still this could a huge character development
So this could be foreshadowing a significant change… as to how, why, and when we don’t know (only Viv knows lol 😂)
Verosika:
Okay, I won’t deny (as biased as I am for Stolitz I still think about the FACTS) that, yes, Blitz may have subconsciously felt guilty about hurting his ex-girlfriend because this all was in his MIND not what shows on the exterior, but that doesn’t mean he would want to go BACK to her, I’m looking at you “Blitzika” shippers 😂 — despite all the hard work he will have to make for being in a healthy relationship with Stolas — because Viv and Bryce Pinkham have already revealed that Stolitz will get together REGARDLESS of what happens; that’s the whole storyline of Helluva Boss
Off topic:
That’s like saying “there’s NO WAY Deckerstar would get together, because he’s “irredeemable” (who pretty much was the same as Blitz) but they DID end up together they even had a kid!
Verosika is Eve (Lucifer’s ex-girlfriend) in Lucifer and Stolitz are Deckerstar their fates are “align with the stars” — pun intended — meaning Stolas and Blitz are endgame
(Not gonna do Striker and why because Blitz met him for a day and had a one liner to say - also I decided to put the clip here to support my theories because I couldn’t be bothered putting up gifs lol 😂)

hey lucifer anon here again, just wanted to drop by and say i finished season 6 and oh my goDDDDDDD. i would love to hear ur thoughts and feelings if u have any
beloved lucifer anon, i finally finished the series (!!!) and i have the most Thoughts & Feelings. i laughed, i cried, i screamed, i cried some more. it’s been a while since my last true spiral, and god, it's exhilarating. i’d never written a meta spec piece before, and after 5b aired, i was less certain about godadiel—sorry, amenagod. but the show wasn’t over yet and i held onto hope, all the while reluctantly letting myself get used to the idea of lucifer ascending to godhood. i was hanging by a thread through s6 up to those moments when lucifer and amenadiel have their huge revelations. i lost my shit when lucifer admits he doesn’t want to be god; i had to keep myself from screaming “I KNEW IT” after amenadiel says he's going to be god (almost waking up everyone in my house at 3am -- a theme for me this season that was kicked off by the reveal of who rory is !!!!!).
anon, i was flying high, i was chomping at the bit, i was feral. this season has left me with brainworms for days, confirming so many wild theories (#1 dad mug, i’m looking at you, motherfucker), and making me think back to all the seeds that were planted and now harvested, and of course leaving me melting into the floor from all the deckerstar love. (i think the only thing i was truly unprepared for was "welcome to the black parade" playing at the end djsldjsl my emo heart was NOT ready for that!!!)
i really want to delve more into my Thots(tm) about this season and the arcs as a whole, but with my brainworms raving it up, anything i do will just be me going !!!!! at everything. for right now, i’m just going to soak in the show gently kissing me on the head and giving me such good fucking food. the glass i'm chewing is delicious.

So, I'm trying to get this (in)vulnerability and mojo swap thing in season 5 straight, as I feel we didn't get and will not really get a straight-up answer, except that it all comes down to self-actualization.
So I think this is how it probably works:
Lucifer chose to be vulnerable around Chloe ever since he started developing feelings for her. For me, that started with that moment in 1x04 where she saw his scars for the first time. Later that episode, he bled when she shot him.
After their night in 5x06, Lucifer became completely open and vulnerable with Chloe and that's why she could mojo him. However, as she has never tried mojo-ing him before, we don't know if she hasn't been able to do that all along. So the timing could just be coincidence.
And because he then thought that she "stole" his mojo and was scared he was losing his powers, he couldn't mojo anyone else anymore. Until Chloe was kidnapped, then he needed his mojo to help her, making it "come back".
Because of his "lost" mojo and also because he felt vulnerable and helpless when paralyzed in 5x07, he "decided" he needed to become invulnerable all the time to protect Chloe. That's what he realized when they were talking on the balcony.
In 5x07, he actually liked being invulnerable to some extent because he could protect her now, but didn't really realize that this was sending the wrong message to Chloe.
If God hadn't shown up at the end of 5x08, he might have gone back to being vulnerable around her, for her, but then a whole lot of other things happened and he distanced himself from her emotionally.
From 5x09 until 5x16 he felt unworthy of her and he put distance between them, so he couldn't reverse the invulnerability anymore. Nor did he really want to because they were going to war and Dan had just died and an invulnerable Lucifer could protect everyone, especially her.
Going into season 6, he'll probably stay invulnerable, as he is now emotionally vulnerable, having told her he loves her, and so he doesn't need to show his feelings by being physically vulnerable.
So, yeah, that's just my two cents.

*Lucifer season 5B spoilers*
So is no one seriously gonna talk about what Chloe getting stabbed in the lower abdomen with part of the Tree of Life could mean...?
They went to great lengths to mention it was the last part of the Tree of Life, and it might’ve been an intentional part on the writing team to stab her basically in the womb.
Maybe I’ve watched too many shows and been on tumblr too long but idk, seems like it could be a thing ...
Also the nod to all the dad jokes with Lucifer (I know I know it was about him being God but still)
Maybe I just want to see Lucifer be a dad okay

So I was rewatching Lucifer season 1 episode 7, “Wingman,” and picked up on a very divine piece of foreshadowing. 😈
In it, Lucifer is looking for his wings and the person who stole them. Amenadiel came to help him - Amenadiel, who, had actually tipped off Carmen (black market auction host) about the whereabouts of Lucifer wings. When, in effect, Amenadiel was the real responsible party and antagonist of the scenario.
At the same time, Chloe had found the secret door at Palmetto street. And guess who was with her at the time and insisted on helping her (in secret) with the case. Dan. Dan, who was actually fully aware of the trap door and was just  manipulating Chloe (like Amenadiel was manipulating Lucifer), because in reality he shot Malcom and was the responsible party & antagonist of the scenario.
We also see Amenadiel and Dan undergo very big character arcs; from supporting villain to friend and good man. The circumstances of their arcs are very similar too. So, I believe, it’s no surprise that Dan and Amenadiel became such good friends.
The writers leave special things like this for us to find all the time! Pardon the “Pops” (s1e10) reference, but the episodes are “sneaky little devils hiding tasty secrets inside” for us to discover hehe. And I can’t wait to see what easter eggs and hidden messages they have in store for us in season 5 part B.  ❤️

The Devil’s Knocking on Heaven’s Door - A Lucifer Season 5A analysis (and a theory)
This post contains a ton of spoilers for season 5A of Lucifer, so be warned!
Why aren’t we talking about the fact that, in 5x01, when Luci was standing on the balcony in SOB’s Hell loop and missing LA, he said “City of Angels” as opposed to “Los Angeles”?
Tumblr media
Later in the episode, when he was still in Mr. SOB’s Hell loop at the house, he said, “[You’re afraid of your own family] ‘cause you know, if you go through that door, it’s only a matter of time before you screw up again... It is inevitable. Sooner or later, you are going to disappoint them allllllll over again!”
Tumblr media
Then, his entire demeanor changed (in the fashion we’ve come to expect from this show when Lucifer realizes something from a case applies to his situation, too). Resigned, he said, “And so you’d rather stay away for all eternity.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It was subtle here. The situation obviously applied to Lucifer, and SOB picked up on that. Lucifer, too, was making excuses about his duty and needing to stay away--but not from Earth, and not from the Detective. He said as much in 5x03.
“I spent thousands of years in Hell, imagining our reunion.”  He was planning to return to Earth, eventually. The whole time, he was planning on someday coming back to her, getting her back. So, “you’d rather stay away for all eternity” wouldn’t really fit, would it?
Tumblr media
What other place would Lucifer be talking about? What other place might he have been making excuses to avoid? What other “home” might this situation have reminded him of? Hint: it rhymes with “leaven”.
Couple this with the fact that, throughout this entire 8-episode batch, not once did Lucifer flinch or get angry when someone said, “Oh my God”. No quips, no snaps. The only time we saw him get angry at God was when He sent the message to Amenadiel that Hell no longer required a warden. But Lucifer wasn’t just mad at that; he seemed... jealous. There was hurt in his eyes when he said, “Dad spoke to you?”
Tumblr media
The real pièce de résistance of the season, imho, came in 5x08, when God came down to Earth.
Tumblr media
By this point, Lucifer had already had the talk with Chloe about being vulnerable, lowering his guard, and letting her in. They’d talked about him CHOOSING to be vulnerable around certain people and how that can manifest in physical ways.
What happened at the end of the episode was SUBTLE--so subtle, in fact, that I wouldn’t blame anyone for not noticing it. But it connected with that conversation just a bit.
When he saw Dad, one might have expected “Lucifer the Rebel” to get angry, launch into a rage, engage in all sorts of aggressive, defensive behaviors.
Nope!
When Lucifer saw God standing there, his expression changed to one of not anger, but pain. Maybe he was feeling sadness, guilt, fear, or all of the above. But two things happened.
Tumblr media
First, in a matter of milliseconds, Lucifer went from angry and fighting with Michael to being on the verge of tears after seeing God.
Then, HE LOWERED HIS WINGS ever so slightly--a straight-up visual for lowering his defenses. That’s not an action someone takes out of anger.
This makes me believe that we’re in the home stretch of this show (and indeed, I guess we were supposed to be). Lucifer is almost ready to seek his father’s forgiveness, to make peace with his family, and come home to Heaven.
One of the reasons for that hasn’t been explicitly said on the show yet, but it’s there: Chloe Decker is mortal. She will die someday. And ffs, this dude is IN FRIGGING LOVE with her. He’s been to hell for her, taken bullets for her, jumped in front of an ax for her. He’d do literally anything for her, and to be near her. But if he doesn’t make peace with Dad, he won’t be able to follow when she goes to Heaven, and he’ll lose her forever.
This is why I think his powers are going haywire. He’s realized this is his greatest desire--to be with her, to find redemption. But he’s TERRIFIED he’ll fail; he won’t be worthy of his father’s forgiveness, and he’ll lose Chloe. This is why he’s keeping her at arm’s length. This is why his mojo won’t work right. His greatest desire coincides with his greatest fear, so he’d rather distance himself from his desires because that’s what he DOES. He exists in a near-constant state of denial, and for the first time this season, we’ve seen him actively working to unravel those patterns with Chloe’s help.
We’re going to see that work continue in 5B; I know it. This is the batch of episodes where I’d be willing to bet money that we are going to see A) the showdown between God and Lucifer we’ve waited years for, and B) the reconciliation he both needs and deserves.
And yes, he does deserve it. Chloe is the only mortal who sees him for who he truly is, right? She sees him as overwhelmingly GOOD, an angel, even. That’s the truth, though he’s too mired in his self-loathing to see that just yet. But ooooooohhhhh, it’s coming, and it’s going to be AMAZING.
Okay, anyway, I just had to write all this down. Thanks for reading.

Lucifer Season 6 Theory
Ok so hear me out.
In these pictures we see Lucifer WITHOUT the ring and Maze WITH the ring, BUT the ring is white again instead of black.
Now, following the logic we saw in 05x04, Lilith's ring was white before she put her immortality in it. If the ring is now white again it means that Lilith's immortality has gone elsewhere, right?
Some time ago Leslie said she had to shoot a fight scene and she was very emotional over it; many speculated it could have involved Trixie's death. WHAT IF Maze sacrifices her desire for mortality and gives Lilith's soul to Trixie?

Lucifer - Lee ; Michael - Meg
Long story short, an analysis between Lucifer and Lee and Michael and Meg. Why 5x01 is an unfinished case and how it’ll all come to maybe play in 5x16.
Lee and Lucifer
o   Back at 4x01, Lucifer said, “Money to cover any debts that you owe… and have a chance of a new life. A chance for people to see you in a different way.” What if Lee, just like Lucifer, did change and turned his life around. He stopped stealing, because well, he did get a fortune out of Lucifer, it could be he hasn’t paid his debts yet, him assuming he’d live long enough to still have enough money if ever someone asks for him to pay his debts.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
o   Just like Lucifer, who over time slowly changed for the better, though sometimes he’d still be causing some trouble here and there.
Tumblr media
o   In Lee’s hell loop, he talked about how his mom got sick and then died only to followed by his dad – how he missed his chance to get together with his family one last time – that he didn’t show his face to them, that he left instead.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
o   This could also be just like Luci’s case, how after his fall (him leaving heaven, his home, not to be seen again) Mum grew unhinged, locked up in hell, then ended up with her own universe – she’s not dead but she’s good as dead to them because Luci threw the key (sword) away. Also, with the upcoming issue with Dad how he’s getting old and janky now.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Meg and Michael
o   Meg describing Lee that he runs with the sketchy crowd, how he was a magnet for everything bad, that he was stuck in a vicious cycle and was bound to come down sooner or later. Then say she hasn’t seen the man in years – that she can’t say he knew the man anymore.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
o   Michael trying to act like Lucifer but failing because he thinks, just like Meg, that he knew his brother, who is bad, who will always be bad but in the end – he was proven wrong.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
o   Michael went down to earth to break Lucifer’s things (his found family) after some of their brothers and sisters started praising him (Lucifer! Lucifer! Lucifer!). At first, he wanted to prove them wrong, he’d break his ‘things’ to lure him topside to prove everyone that Lucifer didn’t change, but then changed his mind and decided to take everything from him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
o   What if Meg also heard the same, rumors about her brother how he stopped stealing (well because he received a fortune from Lucifer way back in 4x01, why would he still have the need to steal), owned a lot of properties now, and living his life to the fullest. While nothing changed for her much, she still lives in the house that she inherited from their parents 15 years ago. So, for a change she would be the one to steal from him – thus, the hired killer.
o   They both tried to live righteously – Michael in heaven, Meg an upright citizen, assuming since she’s not a convict (yet) – so just like Michael said – why are they praising a convict?
Tumblr media
o   Michael lies, Meg could have lied.
How could this parallel be reflected to Michael and Lucifer’s relationship in the future:
I know the scenes listed seemed to mirror with what Chloe and Lucifer were feeling with him leaving/returning (depends on who’s POV you’re looking at) to earth but it can also be a foreshadowing for what the twins would soon have to face:
o   Meg admitted that she’s in denial, that Lee’s death doesn’t affect her, but the truth is she misses him. (Like how Chloe still misses Lucifer but –)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
o   This could be soon mirrored by Michael, that he’s actually acting out not only because he’s jealous but how he actually misses his brother – his twin. He may have his issues with Lucifer, but they were twins and they may have grown apart over time, but I could easily see when both were younger, they were inseparable probably causing mayhem everywhere they went.
o   Assuming that the theory 1x10 is going to be mirrored in S5B – that Lucifer is the intended inheritor of the throne of god – then Lee saying that his family invited him and waiting for him could soon be Lucifer with his own family. Lee said he was invited, but they didn’t mean it, which could be that by the time Dad tells Lucifer the truth behind his fall, how all of it was a test and a preparation for him in soon inheriting and ruling over everything, Lucifer would also make excuses. Because just like Lee, Lucifer’s afraid to screw things up because it’s so easy to ruin anything when you finally have everything.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
o   When Lee said, “I missed my chance. What about you?” Lucifer actually did miss his chance, when it comes to him returning to Chloe, Chloe almost died and was only saved because Michael showed up. He only came back when Amenadiel went down to tell him what’s happening topside. Which might also happen in the future. Lucifer initially rejecting Dad’s ‘inheritance’, only for something bad happening to Chloe before he does finally accept it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
o   Chloe dying and going to heaven might actually be the only reason for him to accept his place in heaven. But that doesn’t mean that Chloe would remain dead (she could be like Eve; made with the hands of god). After all Lee might become the first soul to ever escape his hell loop and end up in heaven. Lucifer would introduce them to each other then Lee realizes that maybe it wasn’t his old crew – maybe it was Meg.
So why Meg?
Facts
o   Gill, the killer, was hired for 20 grand (demon didn’t finish what he had to say only said about the vault)
o   The demon’s intel and Lee’s credit card statements led them to a safe at You Stored It (Meg already there)
o   The hand was in Meg’s Kitchen
Tumblr media
o   Lee’s old crew didn’t find the money in the safe (they could have taken and used the hand and got to the safe before Meg, Chloe, and Maze)
Tumblr media
Speculations
o   Meg hired Gill – she could have made a copy of Lee’s hand fingerprints to use to open the safe before decomposition started with the hand. (idk can fingerprints be copied? I hope so)
o   Lee’s old crew found out it’s Meg because Gill spilled the beans
o   Meg laughed when Lee’s old crew said the safe was empty when they got there
Tumblr media
o   Meg already have the money, hid it, returned to You Stored It to know if Gill really told somebody else, and waited for anybody who may be after the money in the safe
o   Chloe’s been suspicious of her since they saw her at You Stored It and when she laughed while facing Lee’s old crew at gun point
Tumblr media Tumblr media
o   Also, someone has already said this but all the actual suspects/victims for this season is either in disguise or was lying or pretending to be someone else.

i refuse to believe that the crew of lucifer is actually dumb enough to reveal the michael thing if it’s supposed to be a big plot twist. which is why i think it’s more of a subplot, maybe a way to get lucifer out of hell? my theory is that lucifer finds out about michael pretending to be him and comes back to earth. maybe he sends michael to hell to replace him so they don’t have to deal with that problem anymore?

I am fixated on the idea that Chloe has a very specific greater purpose, but I never liked the assumption that she was “created for” Lucifer or even created to “save” Lucifer.
I think her purpose is to judge Lucifer.
- This leaves Chloe with her free will and her own choice regarding The Dark Lord of Red Flags and her relationship with him. Dad creating a person as a gift to be used as an olive branch for his wayward son? Gag.
- She is immune to Lucifer’s supernatural charisma. I know, the show wouldn’t work at all if she wasn’t, but bear with me. Chloe is immune to his charms immediately, but she doesn’t affect his vulnerability until he’s had time to get attached to her. What I take from it is that the vulnerability is angelic self-realization on Lucifer’s part, but Chloe’s immunity to him is what makes her “special.”
- What greater purpose would fit perfectly for someone not immediate smitten by Lucifer than someone who needs to form an unbiased opinion of him?
- Final reason I like this theory? We can all guess how Chloe might judge Lucifer if it came to a head. That’s how the Devil gets a happy ending out of this (and I don’t know about you, but I really need a happy ending out of this.)

Ok theory time! Lucifer becoming invulnerable again around Chloe right after the 'you're starting to let me in' convo seems too obvs so I'm gonna throw out my 2c- I wonder if the physical vulnerability has been replaced by emotional vulnerability because he can now separate the two? So before this he saw physical/emotional invulnerability or "strength" as one inseparable unit, represented by his physical invulnerability. He was unable to be emotionally vulnerable but physically invulnerable but now he can because GROWTH

I'm so excited I'm literally vibrating--
Okay okay, so...
First off, we get Lucifers brother in here on this shit?? I don't like the looks of this guy since he seems like an asshole but it's double the Tom Ellis content so I'll let it slide.
Secondly, did Chloe accidentally fuck the wrong twin. From what I've seen so far she fucked the wrong twin and I'm expecting for there to be angst once she realizes it was the wrong guy, and then her just straight up decking Michael across the face
Third, is Ella or Dan going to find out about all the celestial bullshit? I'm not sure how Dan would react, but I know that if Ella finds out, she'd immediately start freaking out and asking Lucifer so many questions... after her initial breakdown.
Fourth (Jesus this list is getting long...), are Maze and Eve going to get together at some point?? I ship this SO hard at this point like idk
Lastly, are we going to see Maze being soft for once?? Like... I already have ideas in mind for what this season will entail, and judging by the final scene in the trailer... There's gonna be an archangel fight. I already have the image clear in my mind; Lucifer, bloody beaten and broken, with all of his friends surrounding him, trying to patch him up while crying. And Maze just... dropping the harsh mask she's held up for so long, and crying.
I'm sorry if this isn't very coherent, I'm just tired and having thoughts and my brain is just constantly keysmashing at this hour.

Deckerstar in 2x18 (meta and/or rant, I’m not sure)
I want to start this off by saying that I am in no way some pro “meta-ist”, or whatever they’re called. My specialties in life are rambling and forgetting things. I’ve never done a proper meta before, so I apologize in advance if this is a complete mess. With that being said, I have a lot of thoughts after watching the episode. So let’s try this:
First of all, not to be a negative nancy, but I think the episode as a whole was a bit of a mess. I’m not one to not like what the Lucifer writers do (I’ve never felt let down by them), but so much felt out of place, especially the Deckerstar. I really hate admitting this, but, to me, it felt like fanservice. Which I know is crazy, they’re the main characters, the main relationship, and the heart of the show. With that being said, it really did feel like it. There was so much going on, and it felt like the writers just had to cram some Deckerstar in there too.
Now, why did it feel like fanservice? First of all, they were clearly a side storyline. The main plot of the episode was Mum, which is completely fine - but not for what was going on between our dear devil & detective duo. What was going on between them, was the development of probably their biggest plot - Chloe finding out the truth. It’s been a huge theme between them since the Pilot, which is why I feel like shoving it to the side, and only for a single episode, feels like fanservice. They haven’t had any really deep, personal moments since 2x14 (other than the pier moment in 2x18, but i’ll get to that later), and since then they’ve barely spoken to each other, aside from their usual banter. It felt sort of sudden, that Lucifer just decided that now was the time to come clean. If it had been the main plot, it would have been great as a one-episode thing. But they didn’t do that. It just felt like a “hey, we haven’t done any deckerstar in a while, let’s just throw this in here, it is the season finale after all.” kinda situation.
Another thing that makes it feel a bit fanservice-y, is how ooc the whole thing seemed. I could be completely in the wrong, but hear me out: Any time Lucifer and Chloe have a major development in their relationship, it tends to be because of some pretty heavy dialogue, or some big gesture. A few examples:  2x07 - their first real hug. Lucifer comforts Chloe about her father.
2x09 - Chloe saves Lux. Not only does Lucifer ask Chloe out on a real date, Chloe accepts. (Bonus: yes, Lucifer stands her up, but that was basically just because Linda called him out on Chloe (a silly human) being his home, not a place)
2x10 - The first (almost) successful date and their almost-kiss. They both develop sort of a new-found trust and respect for each other due to what they said in court, despite knowing a murderer could go free because of it.
2x11 - Their first kiss. I mean. The dialogue oh my god.
So why is it that Lucifer thinks that now is a good time to reveal the fact that he really is the devil, and probably also that whole thing about Chloe being a miracle child? I mean, yes the examples I gave were major milestones, but they weren’t nearly as heavy as the devil thing. When it comes to the first kiss, it was stretched out over two deckerstar centric episodes. I know first kisses are important but damn. What I’m trying to say is, “Why is it that all these major milestones were given entire episodes to be developed, but Lucifer (almost) telling Chloe everything wasn’t?”
In 2x18, Chloe says: “If you think that I wouldn’t forgive you for your mistakes, or your flaws, if you think that I don’t know who you really are by now, you’re wrong.” Now, yes, that is some pretty good dialogue, it measures up to the previous dialogue we’ve gotten, and it’s not ooc at all - this level of acceptance is probably the best thing Lucifer could ever hear. But again, this was not a deckerstar centric episode, and to be fair, from the way they’d interacted earlier, it felt a little out of place. Had it been a deckerstar centric episode, or had they just actually talked a bit more, either throughout the episode or since 2x14, I would probably have felt a lot better about this whole thing. Aside from that, it’s what follows next that really gets on my nerves:
The part that completely broke it for me - The final piece in the puzzle when it comes to Lucifer deciding whether or not to tell Chloe - the scene with Linda. This is specifically what feels ooc to me: When Lucifer enters the hospital room, he himself says something about how he never should’ve dragged Linda into this whole thing. She protests, saying: “I walked into this with my eyes wide open, chose to be your friend, and face all that comes with that - the good, the bad, and the crispy.”  Now, I could easily be misinterpreting something, but I’m pretty sure Linda didn’t walk into anything with her eyes wide open. If anything, they were not only closed, but she had a blindfold on, and she was in the darkest room imaginable. Anyway. With the way the scene was set up, I can only imagine that what Linda said was what pushed Lucifer over the edge. Now my question just is...
How?
How did that make him think it was in any way a good idea to tell Chloe? Linda almost just died because she knows. The only (somewhat reasonable) explanation I can come up with myself is that Linda saying I chose to be your friend somehow makes him think that Chloe will get to choose... Something. I can’t even figure out what that something could be, but Lucifer does like his free will, so I guess.  It just still bothers me to no end, that even though this whole “choice” thing is correct, or even just about any other possible explanation, it just doesn’t make any sense. Lucifer’s main motivation for literally everything on this show is Chloe’s safety. He killed his own brother so that she wouldn’t die. If I remember correctly, he’s been willing to kill his Mum on more than one occasion to make sure Chloe will be okay.  He’s always, for some reason, been afraid to actually tell Chloe the truth. My guess is that he’s afraid of rejection. So, if we go by that, I guess both Chloe’s “I will always forgive you”, and Linda’s “I chose to be your friend”, could potentially give him a reason to tell her the truth. It makes sense. It’s not ooc. However, what I find so incredibly ooc is that he chooses to let Chloe in on all of this, that will no doubt affect her a lot more than it does Linda, right after Linda almost died. The one thing that Lucifer has been keeping Chloe from since day 1, just happened to Linda, because she knows the truth. This is cold, hard proof that knowing the truth is dangerous, so why would Lucifer, knowingly, put Chloe in danger? I seriously can’t come up with anything that makes sense. Let’s move on before I go insane.
To end this, here’s a reason as to why I didn’t like it that doesn’t have anything to do with being ooc or a having a fanservice feel to it: How oddly the ending scenes parallel the 2x13 ending scenes. Like idk, to me it’s just seriously weird: 2x13: Chloe’s life is saved. She and Lucifer talk about something emotional, and Lucifer is being angsty. He leaves with a motive to do something that will have a huge impact on their relationship. 2x18: Linda’s life is saved. She and Lucifer talk about something emotional, and Lucifer is being angsty. He leaves with a motive to do something that will have a huge impact on his and Chloe’s relationship.  2x13: Chloe leaves a voicemail to Lucifer about how they need to talk about something important [their relationship], and says she’s coming over “now”.  2x18 Lucifer leaves a voicemail to Chloe about how they need to talk about something important [him, but it will affect their relationship], and says he’s coming over “now”.  2x13: Chloe discovers that Lucifer is gone. 2x18: Lucifer gets kidnapped or something, and seems to not make it over to Chloe.  2x13: Chloe is alone in a deserted penthouse. 2x18: Lucifer is alone in a literal desert.  (Bonus: they’re both finales)
I mean, come on. They’re incredibly similar. Now for what makes them odd: First Chloe is dying, but for some reason, it’s suddenly Linda who’s in the middle of all this.  Both times, Lucifer’s motives could potentially destroy their relationship. The first time because he shuts himself down and leaves, the second because he opens up, and actively seeks her out. (this boy just can’t win can he?) Both times, they don’t end up meeting. The first time, it’s Lucifer who chooses to leave, the second time it’s by force. Both times, it’s Lucifer who’s missing, but the POV is changed. As for the last one, that’s just incredibly ironic.
Other than Lucifer’s sudden decision to tell Chloe, this is what pisses me off the most. Like it really grinds my gears. I think it’s mainly because, unlike the other part, I can’t figure out why the hell these are so goddamn similar and so incredibly different at the same time. I literally have nothing. Not a single clue as to what any of this could mean. Will it mean that Chloe will feel betrayed, once again? Will it mean that we’ll have to go through a rehash of 2x14-18 again?
Whatever is going on, I will say, I do have faith in the writers. I really do. They’ve pulled through with these odd and confusing plot twists before, and they’ve always managed to answer every question I’ve had. I don’t know why, but this one just bothers me a lot more. I think it’s mainly because the parallels are so painfully obvious and at the same time so different and I can’t figure out why.
This was nice to get out, I guess. I’m not really sure if this even counts as a meta anymore tbh. I hope I didn’t ramble too much, and that this made some sort of sense. If anyone actually bothered to read this, maybe it sparked some ideas and theories? I’d love to know what everyone else is thinking, whether it’s good or bad. have a nice day lol

I am surprised that anobody expressed any concern over this scene?! I know technically Lucifer is immortal unless Chloe is nearby, but still.... Either way none of my wilf assumptions are pleasant.
1) Lucifer and Michael fights. What if this is Michael but Chloe thinks it's Lucifer and freaks out and hugs him or something?? And Lucifer walks in and is hurt? After all Michael wants Lucifer's life. It could be a ploy to trick Chloe into thinking that he's Lucifer. Somebody please tell me this wouldn't happen!
2) What if Michael somehow manages to badly hurt Lucifer?? We see Michael leaving the Penthouse after the fight (entering the elevator disheveled with a wicked smile). I mean Lucifer would survive obviously. But can Michael really attack Lucifer really badly that he's rendered unconscious? And what would Chloe do?!
I'm at work but my boss had an emergency and didn't come so we had to cancel all the patients. So I'm bored and lazy and stupid Lucifer trailer is once again occupying my brain! 😡
