ALL FOR THE GAME!!

The first time I posted about the concept of doing a sports anime piece with the aftg cast was October 2021 based on this post by @impavid-ish from July 2020 (yes I did go digging for the original post.)

I posted the "sketch" version in June 2022 and told myself that eventually I'd finish it and give it the full color treatment. Well, I finally did that - two years later.

Aaron falling asleep at his desk studying and Andrew putting a blanket over the back of his chair. He assumes it was Nicky and it never gets brought up until he walks through the house in Columbia and realizes Nicky went to pull an extra shift at Eden’s only to find Andrew in the living room with the comforter from his room bundled up and passed out in the couch with a documentary playing

They never talk about it but it becomes a thing whenever they find the other napping or asleep and stops once they move to the dorms, but in the later years at palmetto if they make sure the other has a jacket as a blanket on the bus after games or brings a spare blanket in the colder months then the rest of the foxes don’t comment (Nicky may or may not tear up)

Typical dates w the bois

David:

A chill day/night, David cooking them a meal followed by some relaxing gaming or tv watching time

They like simple dates, and they’d prefer to spend it at home than to go out and dress up

They’d also go camping together once every two or three months. Again, it’ll be very relaxed, just the two of them connecting with nature. Angel loves to watch David turn into a wolf and run around in the forest.

Asher:

Pizza dates! Usually they’d just order it to be delivered, but sometimes they’ll try and make it themselves, creating wacky new flavours and spending time together.

They’ll wind down with some video games and ice cream

Milo:

Dinner dates at fancy restaurants. Milo and Sweetheart love dressing up and exploring different pieces of fashion, so this is the perfect opportunity.

They’re slowly making their way through a list of famous fine dining restaurants that they made

Milo would always use this chance to flex his gentleman skills and woo Sweetheart, and they love it

Vincent:

Midnight strolls and picnics under the stars. Sometimes they’d pick up some 7-11 on the way to their picnic spot and eat snacks together.

They also love an opportunity to dress up once in a while, and will go to more high end restaurants just to see each other in fancy clothes

Sam:

Romantic walks in the forest, which escalates into a full on chase. Darlin’ loves being able to run at full speed, and Sam loves watching Darlin’ be free, running right along side them

Other days, they’ll stay in and watch a movie. Darlin’ will be all cuddled up with Sam, and they’ll have popcorn and other snacks ready on the table

Aaron:

There’s nothing that Aaron and Smartass love more than a day spent at home with just the two of them. Their work requires them to run around and spend a lot of time talking with other people, so they value this time they have to just rest and be with each other.

It’s a cuddle and talk sesh with the tv playing as background noise.

Perfect to unwind after the busy week

Ollie:

Ollie and Baby are also home people, and they’ll use their free time to play Ollie’s collection board games.

They’ll both still be in their pyjamas and have the board set up on the bed.

If they’re hungry, they’ll put a towel on the bed and have a bowl of chips or some other snacks ready on the bed too. (They’ll keep it clean, ofc.)

Guy:

A date with Guy can go one of two ways:

Concert dates! Watching performances of their favourite bands

Or a more relaxed gaming/movie watching day.

Guy will make any event or date fun with his witty jokes, and Honey would be smiling to the point of their cheeks hurting (although they’d never own up to it and will say that Guy is imagining things.)

Gavin:

Drawn out morning cuddles, followed by afternoon flirtations, and a loooong night of spicy time

He likes being able to focus on them, and only them. He’ll tell them soft, whispered words of love as he shows them just how much he loves them

Lasko:

A movie marathon date! Filled with lots of cuddles and talking (mainly on Lasko’s part)

Dear loves laying their head on his lap during the movies, and Lasko will always be stroking their hair

not to sound like an annoying fan but like. you guys know if you don’t like dear evan hansen you can just say that, right? you can just straight up go “yeah, it wasn’t for me” or “I didn’t like the music” or “the plot wasn’t my favorite.” like you don’t have to justify it further. it’s fine. every time I see someone say they didn’t like it because [insert character, usually evan] glorifies being a bad person and it’s problematic media, I want to rip my hair out
