mariana zapata binge!
after just coming from an absolute mariana zapata binge like i read 5 of her books..!~ needless to say i loved ALL OF THEM!
but favoritism wins and i would say kulti was "THE BEST" that book was literally fucking adorable, romantic and soo very funny. i loved sal's dad tbh.
'wait for it' for me was i guess the most appropiate representation of children acting their age like srsly we see 4 year old kids say stuff i don't think even adults say.. so ig it was fresh for me.
the setting of all rhodes lead here was like perfect for me, the grumpy landlord his kidd!
from lukov with love and the wall of winnipeg and me have my whole heart.
it is a little great to finanlly read something a little less smut centered and fun too!
ps~ the slow burn is not for the weakhearted...!

saw a thumbnail for a yt review of kulti recently that said “she did WHAT with her coach?” and it annoyed me cause sal clearly never stepped out of line with rey even once - and now that i’m doing a re-read and seeing how much sal went through because of her friendship with him, i’m even more pissed off. i know it’s clickbait, and just a book but, dude, really? there so many things that happened in the book they could’ve put that would’ve easily made people click, and instead they went with a lie 🙄

RECO OF THE WEEK!
Kulti by Mariana Zapata
Synopsis:
““Trust me, I’ve wanted to punch you in the face a time or five.” When the man you worshipped as a kid becomes your coach, it’s supposed to be the greatest thing in the world. Keywords: supposed to. It didn't take a week for 27-year-old Sal Casillas to wonder what she'd seen in the international soccer icon - why she'd ever had his posters on her wall or ever envisioned marrying him and having super-playing soccer babies. Sal had long ago gotten over the worst non-break-up in the history of imaginary relationships with a man who hadn't known she'd existed. So she isn't prepared for this version of Reiner Kulti who shows up to her team's season: a quiet, reclusive shadow of the explosive, passionate man he'd once been.”

• Review: Kulti •
I mean this from the bottom of my sports romance-loving heart: if you are only going to read one sports romance, READ THIS ONE.
It is the slowest of slow burns – like, it’s nearly excruciating – but MY GOD, it’s, just, SO GOOD.
Here’s the gist: Sal is a pro women’s soccer player and her childhood idol/celebrity crush/soccer mega-superstar, Reiner Kulti, becomes one of her coaches. He’s The Worst, she *despises* him and ends up laying into him one day, and then, ever so slowly, he starts to open up to her.
AND Y’ALL – IT’S JUST SO GOOD.
It *is* a bit long and the front half *is* a bit slow, but I promise (promise!) that it’s worth it. Like, there’s *a reason* Tessa Bailey says is her favorite romance novel.
So when you need a book that is just gonna knock the breath out of your lungs – pick up this one.
