Ohhhh, Cas and Dean talking to Jack in 14x15 under the guise of talking to/about the snake is sooooooooo 🥺
Jack is defensive about opening up about his emotions, so the snake becomes neutral ground -> code for Jack himself.

AHHHHH! Kill me now.
Cas:

CAS: You've been spending a lot of time with the snake. ("You've been spending a lot of time alone.") ... CAS: How is he? ("How are you?") JACK: I don't think he's feeling well. ("I don't think I'm feeling well.")

DEAN:

JACK: I think it's sad. ("I think I'm sad.") ... DEAN: (accepting this, not pushing him) You try bacon? (Jack adds bacon to the pan) DEAN: So does the snake want to take a trip? ("Do you want to take a trip?")

Wherein Dean n' Cas are jealous of Ketch
When Ketch claps Jack on the shoulder, Cas’s eyes grow even more dark and stormy, and it hits Dean like a ton of bricks: Cas is jealous. Because Cas is a lot of things, but a suave storyteller he is not. He would never share stuff like that with Jack, especially his history as a holy soldier of God. In the event that he does communicate something about a battle, the delivery is as dry as grass, like: “It was 8:23 CST. The terrain was humid-subtropical and between 800 and 1300 feet elevation. It took us fourteen minutes to fell the enemy.” Dean appreciates the no-bullshit approach most of the time. The tactical and strategic details Cas chooses to include are kind of cool, but even Sam can’t listen to it for very long.
///
When Jack queues up his top twelve drum solo playlist, Dean feels an unexpected spike of jealousy, too. Jack had made that list for Dean. Sure, Dean had thrown it back in his face, but that doesn’t mean that he has to go trading Dean out for Arthur Ketch not even an hour later.

I would pay an ungodly amount of money for a Supernatural finale where Dean rescues Cas from the Empty and tells him he loves him too, Eileen comes back to be with Sam, and Jack chooses to live with the four of them in the bunker as a happy family.

okay but you see sam has ALSO fallen for dean's act. sam also believes dean to be the macho, daddy's soldier, beer boobs cars guy he presents himself as. this is why sam makes fun of dean whenever he even lightly steps out of that mold and thinks it's harmless banter instead of attacking an insecurity. it's why he laughs when john talks down to dean in the early seasons and it's why he seems surprised when dean is more comfortable with himself in the later seasons. it's why he just scoffs but doesn't push it when dean puts up a front and refuses to talk about his emotions and just accepts whatever excuse he makes at face value. it's why he offers dean a strip club to make him feel better when cas dies. and this isn't his fault!! dean has spent a very long time perfecting this image in front of everyone and ESPECIALLY to sam because along with it comes safety and security and stability and the only person. who has consistently been able to see through it. is castiel

There is not a SINGLE thing I love more than Cas offering threatening to kill John Winchester. Cas would smite anything that tried to hurt Dean and he would be BEYOND pissed that someone Dean trusts as much as his father treats him like that. It is my favorite fucking thing. I implore people to make up stupid reasons in your fic for John Winchester and Castiel to be in the same room to make sure that Cas gets to fucking deck him.
The SPN writers were cowards when they made it so that John and Cas weren’t in the same room together during Lebanon because you better fucking believe that would have been the end for John in all timelines.

Toxic destiel fans that say sastiel had no chemistry only rely on the fact that they barely had screentime together because if they interacted more they would see they had so much more chemistry then destiel.
Its funny how-
- sam don't blame cas for everything almost every other episode
-He makes sure he's okay
-He understand him and doesn't push him
-They worry about each other
-Every time they meet after being separated they go hug each other first thing
-They held hands from the moment they met
-THEY LITERALLY HAVE A CHILD TOGETHER
and people still say destiel is better.
And for people saying
"jack was dean's kid" you are boring and close minded because yes they had their moments but did we forget that HE TRIED TO KILL HIM MULTIPLE TIMES??? while sam believed in him from the literal get go???

Jack: Why is everyone so obsessed with top or bottom? Honestly, I’d just be excited to have a bunk bed. Dean : Dean : I'm gonna tell them. Castiel: Don't you dare.

It is finally the first day of the @crack-in-the-chassis postings! I am delighted to have collaborated with @friendofcarlotta on her hilarious Simpsons AU. Read it here:
Corner House of Horror
Get ready for a gallery of characters all acting silly, and of course an evil plot only the Winchesters can stop!
Tumblr media
When I read friendofcarlotta's fic, it was instantly obvious I had to try Matt Groening's style. As the title of the fic is inspired by the Simpsons Halloween Specials, "Treehouse of Horror", I tried my best to pay tribute to the promo posters they did for those episodes. The second art piece I did was just stuck in my mind, and impossible to resist making!
Thank you friendofcarlotta for being such an enthusiastic partner <3

1. Jack isn't really holding back here. His anger definitely gets the better of him. Poor gas station clerk.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
2. Cas immediately moves to restrain him. (Cas has rightfully determined that now's not the time for a lecture.) Meanwhile, Jack: "get out of the way, angel-dad!" (who it's okay to be rough with, because we're more equal in physique). And symbolically, it's a crotch/waist hit, too, which symbolizes Jack overpowering Heaven-Father, which is a big warning sign within a family unit:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
3. Earth-Dad Dean gets Jack's attention with an equalizing force. (Humans use tools to become powerful enough to take on forces bigger than themselves, after all.) This seems to snap Jack out of it.
But importantly, it's not even symbolically at the level of stun gun. It's like a little whoopin' or even a foghorn blared, just enough to get his attention. (It doesn't phase him.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
4. Next, Jack first looks to Cas, appealing to him, like "you approve of my violence, don't you?" But when he doesn't, Jack looks to Mentor-Dad-Sam, and Sam gets to deliver a voice of reason. Meanwhile, gas station guy is shaken to hear about Maggie.
Throughout all this, Sam mostly stands around yelling and acting shocked! Whereas Dean and Cas simply...aren't. Much like in Tombstone, when Cas somberly asks, post-security-guard shooting, "if this has happened before." Cas and Dean seem generally more acknowledging of the danger Jack's power poses.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
5. Ashamed at his violent overreaction, and at being wrong, Jack rushes out. Dean thinks Jack's needs to be alone to stew. Perhaps, he’s right. Jack tends to need space to process, akin to Dean and Mary.
But maybe Cas's instincts are more on the money here, that Jack is fragile and needs to have the support of people around? It’s hard to say, since Lucifer finding him was very unusual, unfortunate happenstance.
Again though, Cas and Dean seem to be more on the same page in terms of not reeling from shock, but immediately acting to respond.
were you the one who called dean shooting jack to get his attention a spanking because I can't stop thinking about that lol
I did! In this instance, it's only the visual of pulling a gun on your child that's bad IMHO. Because Jack is unleashing angelic, overpowered rage on an innocent minumum-wage-gas-station-worker! Cas moves to full-body tackle Jack, and Jack throws his angel-dad across the room.
Only then does Dean pull the gun and give him a lil' whoopin'!

Time travel characterization ideas
I just think that, rather than hating themselves (like they hate their, uh, actual selves), Dean & Cas might immediately move to parent their past selves, if they met them.
Like how they do with with Claire & Jack, they'd meet them with a mix of wise counsel, gentle teasing, and stern, tough love.
///
Sam, on the other hand... It might be interesting to see Sam uncomfortably faced with things he didn't remember about his past self.
It'd be very fun to see older Sam critique himself (and Dean & Cas)
Because Sam doesn't like what he's seeing with fresh, older eyes
(He's horrified by his past self's ignorance, his impatience, his acerbic wit, his bloodlust, etc)
In fact, Sam is psycho-analyzing everyone to the point of accidental, passive-aggressive disrespect
His faux-gentle counsel gets brushed off, and he doesn't even know why...

on season 14… I know some things were planned some weren’t / were met with network pushback whatever whatever… Dean and Cas were absolutely having some crazy emotional affair by mid-season even if they would never give it a name and Cas was regularly spending the night in his room even if he didn’t actually sleep…

Okay, I think I can finally share this now.
In my version of "Moriah" Chuck orders Jack to kill Castiel with the promise of bringing things back to how they were before all the mess they're in now, Mary included. Jack starts panicking and crying and is clearly being played but he's in no state to rationalize things so he starts blurting out all kinds of stuff and eventually resolves to actually do it. Sam and Dean are forced to watch by Chuck and are totally incapacitated just like us, hypothetical viewers, are made to watch Jack's tragedy as it unfolds.
But Castiel is okay with that and actually plans to do the deed himself in order to avoid at least this one pain in Jack's life so he comes close to Jack and holds his face in one hand while the other is ready for the blade. He needs to tell him one last thing before the end. They're both crying but somehow Cas find the courage to recite a different type of blessing over the children, one that of course doesn't involve God and it goes something like this:
Jack, don't cry. It's okay, it's okay.
I need to tell you something, Jack and I need you to listen carefully, okay? Okay, good.
Being elected as your father has been the greatest joy and honor of my life. Hey, it's okay, shhh, it's okay, listen to me.
It was a joy so great that I got scared, Jack. I'm sorry Jack but I got so scared. I didn't know it then but it was this gnawing fear of losing it all, of losing you, that made me make... many mistakes. It was this fear that prevented me from understanding who you really are, from seeing the truth. So here it is.
Jack, you were, are and always will be such a luminous, beautiful and important presence in this world. Ah, as a matter of fact, in any world. Because you're... you. And you are... amazing.
No, no, no listen to me now, please, shhh, it's okay: You have to know that whatever happens in your life, I will be there for you. No matter what, I will be by your side. If things will go wrong, I'll be there to give you my energy. If things will go right, I'll also be there to give you even more energy.
You must never forget that you're loved, Jack. Oh, look at you: my son...my son... I love you. So much.
Cas, in an instant, is ready with his angel blade but it's in this moment that the Shadow erupts into the world to take Castiel away: no reasoning, no strategic plan, nothing. The moment of happiness is the moment of unconditional love.
Chuck's frantic because this "unconditional love" thing wasn't in his script and yells that it was not supposed to happen this way, that he gave them the possibility to access everything they ever wanted, the price was just one self-loathing, doomed-anyway angel but it still wasn't enough for them, was it?
It's also the moment where Sam, briefly freed from Chuck's powers, gets his lucidity back and decides to pull the trigger on Chuck (and himself). In the background, Jack's screaming and crying so much that the mere force of his screams is enough to resurrect the whole cemetery but Cas is not coming back to him.
Chuck is wounded by Sam (who's also hurting in return) and is forced to flee. Dean is also wounded beyond repair and is like turned to stone and almost can't breathe because he's living, again, one of the worst moments of his life as we go back to a distorted, more messed-up version of s12 finale and to the beginning of Jack's tragic story.
Jack is spiralling and he's out of control and out of himself as he starts opening woundsrifts after rifts through dimensions and worlds looking for Chuck, looking for the Empty, looking for whatever comes first at this point because he's moved by the dangerous, unpredictable and explosive bomb that is revenge spurred by love. Until Billie finds him.
