Roy: Huh? I said-

Jason: What was it that you just said to my little bro?

Roy: Well, I was only going with what you were saying-I-I... You were saying it too!

Jason, getting up from his chair: You don't have the right!

Roy: Okay, aren't you just being a little hypocritical here about this?

Jason: LEAVE! (Points at door) and don't ever talk to me or my little brother ever again

Roy: But, dude-

Jason: I don't even want you looking at him ever again!

Roy:..... Seriously br_

Jason: Go! The door is very wide open for those like you

Roy: Alright, jeeze (leaves)

Tim, with a genuine smile on his face: Hey, thanks a lot for that, Jay. I really appreciate it

Jason, folding his arms: Quiet, Nerd

I have never seen this topic brought up and now I’m curious.

What do we know about Roy’s biological mother in canon? And are there any theories on who she might be? Or why she is gone?

Lian's Civilian appearance

This is a revised version of Lian's appearance as a civilian. I imagined her in a cool punk style given her fearless nature.

Even before his death, Jason didn’t go out of his way to listen to music. He didn’t hate music. He enjoyed the soft symphonies that played from the manor’s expensive stereo system during Alfred’s cleaning sprees. He listened along to Bruce’s dad-rock in the car (and country- though no one will ever believe him about Batman’s secret love for women who sing about killing their husbands).

After his death, Jason’s mind was too preoccupied to really search out new music. Whatever was on the radio, if there was one in the car, he listened to on low. 

That was until Roy.

Roy always had music playing. Even after he stopped playing for Great Frog, Roy’s life was never quiet. The two would tumble into a safehouse and by the time Jason had finished washing away the grime from whatever battle they just survived, he’d hear the tell tale pounding of drums and wailing of a guitar coming from Roy’s phone. 

It was nice- giving Jason something to focus on outside of the buzz from the Pit. Soon, his post-fight routine included whatever new playlist Roy had made on their shared Spotify account. He doesn’t like everything that Roy does. God knows Roy’s interests are just as disastrous as him and that includes his music taste. Jason pretends to hate it- complaining how showtunes aren’t exactly the taste of a vicious mercenary. 

Still, he enjoys the little window into Roy’s life he gets in the form of music. And if Jason gets a little misty eyed at the playlist Roy made for him, that’s their little secret. 

I wrote this while listening to Spillways by Ghost, which would definitely be on the playlist Roy made for Jason. (YouTube / Spotify)
