Deep down, Bruce belives in Superman. His split second, gut instinct is that Clark Kent will save the day. Oh he has contingency plans and threat assesments up the wazoo, because he's Batman. He wraps himself up in paranoia and planning because he is convinced nothing is what it seems. He stockpiles Kryptonite because years of trauma and self-doubt have left him convinced that everything will go wrong and it will be his fault. But when the cards are down, when he's falling, Batman trusts that Superman will be there, Bruce sees Clark and in his heart of hearts he knows he'll be safe.

“I won’t kill you, but I don’t have to save you either” is so lame in comparison to “I won’t kill you, but I will look the absolute opposite direction as a meta beats the shit out of you and then maybe I’ll hide a smile while they drag your body away”

In a nutshell how would superman wonder woman and hawkgirl react to buddy with the symbiote sprouting wings to fly with them? ( if you didn't know in the comics venom gained the ability to sprout wings to fly.)
I... I did not know that. Hope it shows in the new Venom movie!
In a nutshell...
Everyone is surprised by this new adaptation Buddy and Venom show. It's the reaction that's different.
Clark is a bit put off by Buddy and Venoms new way of moving, but the surprise doesn't stick. Will ask them if they want to go flying some time in the future.
Diana is more in awe. Doesn't see anything wrong with them. They are still her friend. Also invites them to fly with her
Hawk girl is angry. Yet another thing to worry about with Venom. Now it can adapt. Will be keeping a closer eye on Venom and Buddy in the future.

The White liberal is the worst enemy to America.
Malcom X : “The White liberal is the worst enemy to America and the worst enemy to the Black man. Let me first explain what I mean by this White liberal. In America there’s no such thing as Democrats and Republicans anymore. That’s antiquated. In America you have liberals and conservatives. This is what the American political structure boils down to among Whites. The only people who are still living in the past and thinks in terms of “I’m a Democrat” or “I’m a Republican” is the American Negro. He’s the one who runs around bragging about party affiliation and he’s the one who sticks to the Democrat or sticks to the Republican, but White people in America are divided into two groups, liberals and Republicans…or rather, liberals and conservatives. And when you find White people vote in the political picture, they’re not divided in terms of Democrats and Republicans, they’re divided consistently as conservatives and as liberal. The Democrats who are conservative vote with Republicans who are conservative. Democrats who are liberals vote with Republicans who are liberals. You find this in Washington, DC. Now the White liberals aren’t White people who are for independence, who are liberal, who are moral, who are ethical in their thinking, they are just a faction of White people who are jockeying for power the same as the White conservatives are a faction of White people who are jockeying for power. Now they are fighting each other for booty, for power, for prestige and the one who is the football in the game is the Negro. Twenty million Black people in this country are a political football, a political pawn an economic football, an economic pawn, a social football, a social pawn...”
In nutshell Democratic are the worst enemy to America

Hi! Feel free to ignore this but I thought I’d ask:
Do you have any comic recs for someone getting into Roy Harper? Very into Dickroy but want to learn more about Roy and where he came from and what his deal is etc etc
hey!! I can definitely help with that. roy harper my best friend forever <333
i am definitely not as well versed in his og speedy appearances alongside ollie (<- Girl Who Is Ignorant Of The Silver Age) but i think if you're interested in his early years the original teen titans '66 series is fun! there is also a really cute story about early ollie & roy published in dc's saved by the belle reve called 'earn it back' that i'd recommend.
you have doubtless heard of snowbirds don't fly (green lantern v. 2 #85), which. yeah. it is what it is. it's very hard to understand roy's story without reading it so it's kind of a must, but. y'know. keeping in mind the context of the time and everything. i would very much recommend reading the story 'green man and autumn son' from the green arrow 80th anniversary super spectacular after reading snowbirds; it's basically the story of sdf but from roy's perspective this time and it's like essential reading for roy imo.
next big thing would probably be new teen titans vol. 2 #19-21, which is where he finds out he's a dad for the first time!! very exciting! directly after that i'd read the cheshire contract arc (action comics #613-618), a very fun arc where roy actually gets to keep lian. plus dickroy! i would also recommend the arc rocks and hard places (action comics #627-634) which i think gets sometimes overlooked despite basically continuing on directly from cheshire contract. roy looking out for random irish orphans my beloved<3
specifically for ollie and roy's relationship i'd rec green arrow vol. 2 #75 (MY BELOVED), and the archer's quest (#16-21) arc from green arrow vol. 3! really really good stuff. 'you're a good dad roy harper/so are you ollie' augh.
next thing chronologically would be roy's new titans run, i think from around #97-130. this is where roy actually got to lead the titans, and it's an era that not a lot of people remember lol. the series was on its very last legs at that point but it's very cool to see roy in a leadership role!
arsenal (1998) is probably the biggest rec i have. beloved beloved comic. Roy In A Nutshell, four issues of pure gold. batman plus arsenal is also just one issue but very fun and a good look at roy!
titans (1999) is an obvious pick but like. it's so good. such good roy content. donnaroy i love you forever
and yeah if you're a dickroy fan then i shouldn't even have to mention outsiders (2003). The Dickroy Bible
OH almost forgot justice league of america vol. 2, around the first half of it! especially #6 has a REALLY good roy moment. red arrow!roy my best friend
i hope that's a good roy harper starter pack!!

In a nutshell how would batman's rouges react to Nightlight?
The rouges have met Nightlight before, but they all assume that the Bat's just made a robot out of the batmobile.
In a nutshell...
Killer Croc and Bane have tried to take down the 'robot' before in hand to hand combat... that did not end well. At least the robot is polite and didn't toss them in the back of the Asylum van. Heck, Croc even got to keep his tail this time! Bane also over heard the 'robot' arguing with one of the guards about using the electrical rods on them too many times.
Penguin was mortified when the 'robot' decided to pick him up like they were taking a rat to the dumpster bins. Though he could have sworn that he saw the 'robot' coo at some of his birds...
Two Face has mixed feelings about Batman's new robot. One side LOATHS it with a burning passion. The other can't help but respect. Just the other day when he was up against Batman, the 'robot' ended up siding him with several points in the argument. Oh, he loved the stink eye Bat's gave the 'robot'
Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy love this 'robot'. This robot not only is polite and dare they say 'sympathetic', but the 'robot' has a soft spot for plants and hates the Joker! These are win wins in their book. Once they break out of the Asylum again they find several little plants mailed to their apartment with an anonymous note attached. It just had the Bat symbol on it.
Joker hates Batsy's new toy. It seemed the thing had a vendetta against him the one time he decided to kidnap Red Hood and Red Robin. All he wanted to do was recreate a master piece and the next thing he knows is a giant robot is busting down his wall with a giant gun. That thing nearly ran him over several times!

Hello!! o/ I was curious about your opinions on the whole Jason Todd is immortal idea, this post lays it out pretty well & kinda mentions him using it to his advantage:
https://www.tumblr.com/forestlingincorporated/672020812528779264/so-jason-todd-might-be-immortal
If in your asymmetrical warfare series he was immortal in this way (dies but comes back) would that change anything? Would he use that ability at all?
Thank you :D
Hello!! I’m very normal about this ask. 👀
Friend, I think about this all the time. Like this is my #1 go to I-can’t-sleep-let-me-ponder-the-nature-of-Jason-Todd’s-existence thought wormhole.
‘Cause here’s the thing. Batman 💯 killed Jason at the end of Under the Hood. This, right here, is undeniably, unquestionably, arterial spray.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He would have bled out in minutes from a severed carotid. This kind of blood loss is not a survivable.
Tumblr media
And then ofc there’s the whole…
Tumblr media
Argue in the comments with me if you want, but I will die (bloody from hypovolemic shock) on this hill. Bruce killed Jason with that Batarang.
But, clearly, Jay comes back. Somehow. Those purple space sparkles at the end of Under the Hood sure look a lot like the purple space sparkles that bring Jay back initially.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And then there’s that beautiful bit of narrative text that goes along with Jay’s initial resurrection:
“The strange truth of this anomaly, this wave that set so many bits of time on a different path did not change history … but set it right.”
Tumblr media
To me, this says that there is a right way for Jason Todd to die, and Superboy Prime’s ripple in time isn’t going to stand for it going down any other way. Ethiopia was the wrong way. À la Batarang wasn’t right either. So, immortal? I don’t know. But there are definitely conditions in place surronding his exit from this plane of existence.
But how does that ripple fix Jason’s death, exactly? After Under the Hood, does Jay wake up buried in the rubble sometime later? Or has Jason’s initial resurrection become fixed in time—a nexus point, if you will, that keeps pulling Jay back in. Now that’s fun to daydream about. 👀
I agree with the Tumblr post you cited that it seems like DC was building toward something with Jason in that era, and then just dropped it. And it seems pretty in character for how Jason was being written post Infinite Crisis, that if he thought he couldn’t die, he would use that to his advantage.
So, those are my thoughts in a nutshell surrounding the possible immortality of Jason Todd.
If in your asymmetrical warfare series he was immortal in this way (dies but comes back) would that change anything? Would he use that ability at all?
Right now, AW Jason is on a path to reclaiming pieces of himself—to building something for himself outside of Batman and the Joker—things that canonical Jason didn’t have or do. I think all of that would make AW Jason less cavalier about dying, less willing to chance it, than what DC was implying for a post Infinite Crisis Jason.
It certainly hasn’t occurred to AW Jason that he could be immortal. If something were to change that, depending on the nature of those circumstances, well … I guess we’ll have to see.
Thanks for the fantastic ask, friend. Hope you enjoyed my ramblings. The implications of all of this in Asymmetrical Warfare are going to be buzzing around the back of my brain for some time to come. 🩵
