Nico as the son of Zeus though, both him and Bianca being the Children of Zeus, not of Jupiter.
They are both still born before the Pact is made, but Hera being Hera is obviously not very pleased about it, so Zeus does the same thing he originally does with Thalia and Jason.
He abandons the older sister to her luck, and gives up the little brother to Hera, as a peace offering.
Bianca's life is spared, she doesn't get immensely tracked down by monsters, or anything, because technically her birth is lawful, but she cannot be allowed to live any further, and reach 16, so she still gets taken to the Lotus Hotel.
Hera takes away her memories. Hera is always playing the long term game, she knows it's on her best interest to make sure Bianca doesn't remember any of it.
Hera knows she could probably make her take a bath on the River Lethe, if she insisted hard enough, but she knows not to bother Hades with matters this trivial.
Bianca then, proceeds to live decades upon decades of her life, feeling like she's missing something, and like, maybe there should be somebody else sharing her suite on the Hotel, but between all the games, and shows, and fun she's always having, the feeling almost fades away.
Only almost, but good enough.
Nico on the other hand becomes Hera's only connection to the mortal world, the only mortal child she's ever been this close with.
Hera does think about whether to send Nico to one of the Camps, but eventually, she doesn't, same thing as with his sister's case. It's not the right time to have him roaming the world, but the Hotel is out of the question now.
So instead, Hera takes Nico with her, and maybe it's just how different Nico has shown himself to be from Hera's reproachable husband, or from any of her strangled children.
On Olympus, Nico doesn't grow any older, his memories are erased too, he has the faded sensation like he's missing an important part of himself, but Hera never allows him to sink too deep into those thoughts, and feelings.
Instead, she teaches Nico things, about everything really, she teaches him history, how to read and write, in English, Greek, Latin, how to utilize the powers his father gave him at birth, how to fight, and how to protect himself.
Hera sits Nico in the middle of the clouds, up above on Olympus, and shows him the world, she explains about the Greek Camp, she explains about the Roman Camp.
She carefully, and fully answers each and every single one of Nico's questions, about why they are separated from each other, and the multiple Pantheons, and everybody's powers, who's stronger than who, and why.
What stories are true, and which aren't. Hera realizes that this is the first time anybody has ever asked her about her stories. She can't help but indulge.
And Hera knows she usually wouldn't be caught doing things like that, that she has got the fame of a ruthless powerful force of nature, and for a good reason, but marriage is also a big deal about patience, and she's patient if nothing else.
Or maybe, it just has to do with the fact that it's been millenia since anybody has seemed to actually care about what she has to say.
Hera refuses to allow Nico to live any sort of mortal life, and yet, this is the closest she's ever felt to that sentiment her brothers, and sisters, describe when talking about their heroes, and mortal children.
When watching Nico's sleeping form, after yet another lesson successfully fulfilled, because Nico is nothing if not efficient, Hera thinks that she can almost understand. Almost, but the most she's ever gotten.
The decades pass, and Nico's human body remains the same, but he does grow up.
He grows up to be strong, and knowledgeable, good at basically anything anybody could think of.
Hera has him watching too, as she pick and chooses each of the Seven Heroes she deems worthy.
Nico attentively watches, as Juno ties Frank Zhang's life to a fragil wooden piece in front of his mortal mother.
Nico sits next to a baby Leo Valdez, singing to him, together with Hera, that same melody Hera used to sing to Nico on her own, way back, when he himself was a baby.
It all feels so long ago, even though Nico is well aware, he hasn't lived even the most minimum fraction of what Hera, and the rest in Olympus have.
Nico claps, as that incredibly young Leo proudly shows him, and Hera, his little drawing of the battleship.
Nico doesn't ask Hera about it, because he thinks they both already know what's going to happen with that ship, very very soon.
Human lives pass in the blink of an eye; That's another thing Hera had taught him.
At long last, Nico has to very bravely walk down, so far away from Hera, for the first time in his life, and even away from his already distant father, and their skies, and the protection of the Olympus, to get into his Uncle Pluto's realm.
Juno speaks to her little brother on Nico's behalf, explains why Nico going there is of the upmost importance, and just like Pluto did with all of his irresponsible little brother's children before, he gives Nico a random innocuous Quest to fulfill, before he lets him do what Juno asked, out of them both.
Nico grabs Hazel Levesque's hand, and her soul, and raises her from the Fields of Asphodel, before bringing her to Camp Jupiter.
Later on, when Hazel questions him, and asks why rescue her at all, they don't know each other in any way, they are barely cousins of any sort. Nico only tells her that divine intervention is sometimes needed, but rarely given.
Because, that's the way he has seen Hera respond to these sort of matters, and if there was one thing Hera never taught him, was how to convive with mortals.
Nico doesn't blame her, ultimately, he's aware Hera couldn't have possibly taught him something she never learned herself.
Nico never asks Hera why she didn't pick him to partake on the Prophecy too, but Hera still answers him, because she knows him too well. Can read his expressions just fine.
For the better or for the worst they know each other when nobody else does.
Hera tells him that he will have his own important role to play on it, eventually, even when she wishes he didn't.
And when Hera can tell the time has finally come, she sends Nico down to the Earth. To New Rome.
Juno figures it's fitting, after all, by this point it's basically a warning towards the rest.
Proudly proclaims him as her own. Nico becomes known across New Rome as Juno's Champion. She's his Patron.
Everybody knows who Nico's Godly parent must actually be, when he comes furling down from the sky, in a tangible mass of wild winds, and thunderstorms, riding a white steed made from the wind spirits.
But Nico never refers to Jupiter as his father, or to Zeus either, if asked, he only ever talks about Hera or Juno as his caretaker. After a while, nobody else questions him.
Juno doesn't send him to be part of any Cohort, or even as an official Praetor, instead, she sends him to enact, exactly as what she's meant to be, as a warning.
Nico becomes their only direct contact with The Gods.
He protects the Camp from afar, and he's not gloomy or unnecessarily confrontational, but he's so far away from the rest. So different from them.
It's difficult for Nico to really connect with the rest, who have lived so differently from him, who have seen so little of what he has.
Nonetheless he tries, and he does manage to form close friendships, with people like Dakota and Reyna.
Nico can't ever quite bring himself to make friends with Hazel and Frank, he has this feeling like he already doomed them, mostly because he has.
On the other side, Bianca would have run away from the Casino with Percy and the rest, when they first found it.
Bianca, who would always be so on edge, feeling like she's missing something, like she's forgetting something very important, that she should be doing something else.
The moment she sees the opportunity to run away, and try to feel fulfilled, somehow. She takes it.
Percy and the rest, have to make a complete detour to get Bianca back to Camp safely, because if they had actually taken her to the Underworld with them, Hades probably wouldn't have spared her.
Bianca would grow up in Camp, living in the Hermes Cabin, and the feeling, now without all the distractions of the Casino, would only grow bigger, she would have to learn about all the time she's been out of commission.
Eventually, Bianca has a sudden outburst of her own, probably for some small petty reason, but the way that the thunderstorms form, and the lighting hits the Earth, right in front of her, every muscle on her body feeling electrified.
Everybody knows at once who her father must be.
Zeus doesn't claim her, but he doesn't need to. Bianca decides that she never needed him in her life before, and she's not gonna start needing him now.
Bianca doesn't tell anybody else, but she moves to The Zeus Cabin, and sits at his table during breakfast next morning.
She's forced to give a lot of explanations to all the Campers, but she's resilient, if nothing else.
Hera decides to send Nico to the Greek side after a while.
So he can meet the other players on her desperate last move.
It's another one of those things Hera usually wouldn't do something, but for once, she feels like she has somebody who's fully on her corner, who doesn't call her desperate plans foolish and useless, and she feels like, if Nico doesn't know everything that's happening, nobody ever will, and that will only keep, overcomplicating things.
And, when Nico finally meets Bianca, after Hera very purposely sends him to the Cabin next to hers.
The thunderstorms form wildly around them, and the winds can't seem to settle down, as lighting engulfs them both, he decides Hera is going to have to give him a very very long explanation.

okay but imagine. Thalia Grace, after Jason's death, in a fit of desperation, comes racing to Nico di Angelo, wanting him to summon his ghost, because she just wants to talk to her brother one last time. Before it's too late. Before he reaches Elysium, since the closest she could get to talking to her brother after he goes to the hero's paradise is through dreams, and that wasn't enough for her. Seeing his fragmented soul through dreams is not nearly good enough. She wants the message to reach him. The real him. Not a loomy remnant. She wants to apologise, as she feels her soul being hollowed out with guilt.
She should've looked for Jason, even after their mother told her that he's dead.
She shouldn't have been so busy with the hunters that she would have to cut their brother-sister conversation short.
She should've realised how much her brother craved her attention.
She should've come to the chb meeting that she'd promised jason she'd come to, she shouldn't have made her brother wait like a lost puppy.
The look in jason's eyes when she told him she'd have to leave was etched on to her face. Permanently scarring her soul.
She should've been a better sister. She failed him. She failed to make him feel wanted. She hoped Jason didn't face his death thinking that she didn't need him. Because Gods of Olympus, that would break her.
And she poured all of these gut wrenching thoughts to Nico, who suprisingly listened. Yes. Nico did resent Thalia for being in the hunters of Artemis, the same group that got his sister killed. But listening to Thalia pour her heart out to him, really hit a little too close to home. The daughter of Zeus seemed to echo a young nico, trying aimlessly to summon his sister's ghost to talk to her. They both had the same hollow red eyes, burning with hot tears streaming down, the same crease in the eyebrows, the same flicker of rage over their siblings's murder. At that moment, Thalia Grace looked as unthreatening as the king of all god's daughter could possibly look like.
But Nico was glad, that Thalia, atleast cared about her little brother to this extent. Up until this point, Nico had these lingering doubts if Bianca had really cared about him like this, she had dropped everything to join the hunters after all. Hearing Thalia talk about jason had healed his inner child. Maybe big sisters do think about their younger brothers, no matter how busy they appear to be... So he complied to her wishes. She deserved closure from her brother's death. It would do Jason some good too.
He poured all of his concentration into summoning the son of Jupiter, as Thalia anxiously chewed on her nails, pacing around the murky woods in anticipation. Until a wispy figure with rimmed glasses and neatly cropped hair, appeared in front of them.
"Hello, sis."
Nico di Angelo and Thalia Grace were more or less the same, when it came to wanting to make amends with their deceased sibling.
Except Thalia was the older sister who wanted her younger brother back, And Nico was the younger brother who wanted his older sister back.
#I sobbed while writing this btw#Like no joke. There are droplets of tears in my phone screen#I couldn't sleep last night#bc I just kept thinking abt how Thalia would've felt#To get her younger brother back years later only to lose him again#Tbh id be fucking pissed at the fates lol#But I realised that Thalia and nico really parallel eachother#But the roles are reversed#nico di angelo#thalia grace#jason grace#bianca di angelo#pjo#pjo fandom#pjo hoo#percy jackson#pjo series#pjo hoo toa#pjo toa#annabeth chase#hazel levesque#frank zhang#leo valdez#piper mclean

Nico's Big Sisters (Getting Ready for a Date)
Piper, putting eye shadow on him: Almost...Done!
Nico: *opens his eyes*
Piper: Ok! Time to do your hair.
Annabeth: Now, what do you do if he asks about your day?
Nico: I tell him about my day but don't be too personal. And then I ask him about his day.
Annabeth: Okay. Now, how about if he asks-
Thalia: Annie, it's a date, not an exam
Annabeth: I'm just helping him get ready
Thalia: Mhm. Nico, listen up. If this guy tries anything funny, you tell him that your favorite cousin is a daughter of Zeus and a Hunter of Artemis
Reyna: That's too much. You gotta shorten it. Just say that your cousin and best friend know where he lives... cuz we do
Thalia: Ugggh, can't you just tell us how this'll go, Rachel?
Rachel, painting his nails: Not the kind of prediction I do. But there's no ominous feeling yet, so I'm sure he'll be fine. Speaking of 'fine', his nails look great
Annabeth: Can we please go back to studying?
Clarisse: Sure, Nico, what do you do if he does something to you that you don't want him to.
Nico: I take my pretty white teeth, I go for the neck, and don't let go until he stops twitching
Everyone:
Clarisse: That's my boy.
---
Nico: Hi, Will!
Will: Hi, Nico. Oh, hey, Bianca. Hey, Zoë
Bianca: Hi, Will
Zoë: Hello, William
Bianca: Uhm, Nico, where's your bag?
Nico: Oh, it's- Oh, must've forgotten it in the cabin. Be right back *leaves*
Bianca:
Zoë:
Will:
Bianca: William, do you understand the seriousness of what you're about to do?
Will: Yes, I do, Ms Bianca.
Zoë: And thou understands that once thou enters into this relationship, it will most likely last forever?
Will: Yes, Ms Zoë
Bianca: You do understand that just because your aunt is our boss, doesn't mean we wont hurt you, right?
Will: I didn't doubt it
Zoë: And thou understands that there will be consequences for thy actions if thou so much as make him frown?
Will: Yes, I do.
Zoë: Good. Know that from now on, thou will be watched every single time thou is with Niccoló
Will: I completely understand
Bianca: Alright. Be back an hour before curfew. No drinking, no smoking, or else I will call our father and have him put a fast track on your soul and life.
Will: Understood, Ms. Bianca
Nico: I got my bag!
Bianca: Oh, how cute! Alright, you kids have fun!!
Nico: Bye, Sorella! Bye, Zoë!
Zoë: Enjoy thy time, patatino!

i think a lot about how the more we learn about Hades as the series goes on, the more it informs his character in the first series and particularly highlights some of the major themes of the first series.
Hades is a god who has lost everything and is one of our most poignant examples of how the gods are incredibly, painfully subject to human emotions like loss and grief just as much as any mortal. He lost Maria, had to give up the di Angelo siblings, was forcibly kept away from Hazel by Gaea, Marie, and Zeus, and eventually lost Hazel and Marie as well. He spent three and a half years after Maria's death knowing Hazel was stuck with Gaea and being unable to do anything about it without Zeus killing her too, besides at best trying to send her warnings and encouragement from afar, and knowing she would inevitably die too. He essentially spends three years mourning his still living daughter because he can do nothing to save her. And after it's all over all he can do is try to give Hazel the best chance in the Underworld he can and wallow in his grief.
And he's immortal, so those 70-odd mortal years are nothing to him. Losing the di Angelos and Levesques is still recent to him. He's still freshly wounded enough to sic monsters after Thalia in revenge. And then right after he gets Nico and Bianca back, he loses Bianca truly this time.
And Hades and Nico's grief are parallels! They've lost the same family. They lash out with their pain and self-isolate, pushing people away. Hades constantly compares Nico to Bianca after Bianca's death and jabs at him. He hides in the Underworld and refuses to help or interact with the Olympians. And it's a direct parallel to Nico - To Nico, that grief is condensed too, because to him only 6 months have passed between his mother's death and Bianca's. He runs away and refuses to return to CHB after Bianca's death. He lashes out at Percy trying to help. Hades and Nico are the only ones each other have left but they're too absorbed in their pain to acknowledge that. It isn't until Nico starts healing from losing Bianca at the end of BoTL that we see a shift - Nico isn't self-isolating anymore, he's sorting himself out and finding his own path. He seeks others out at his own pace - finding Camp Jupiter, visiting Percy. He's stopped lashing out. But Hades still hasn't, and it isn't until TLO that Nico calls him out on that very behavior. The Olympians are his family, he is Hades' family, and Hades is too busy focusing on what he lost to stop shutting out the family he still has left. And at the end of TLO and into HoO we see Hades finally make the same shift Nico did - he's embracing his family, he's stopped pushing them away, heck he's even getting out of the house more. But we still see even more parallels between him and Nico in how they cope with loss - we know that Hades was told he couldn't revive Maria. But when Nico goes to search for Bianca to revive her, it's heavily implied Hades intentionally allowed Nico to revive Hazel. Hades orchestrated the revival of his daughter because both Nico and Hades are still holding on to what they lost.
The core of Hades' character in PJO is that the god of the dead is mourning. And I find that so fascinating.

I was thinking that Athena, and other gods, don't necessarily know that the baby is Perse yet? Maybe they find out when she gets to camp and stuff, I really like the idea that a bunch of gods suspect annabeth of being Perse and spoiling her, but Apollo is like "No, I know my love, that's just a child"
Ok, so now imagine that Perse is cursed around the same time Bianca and Nico go to the Hotel Lotus. Maybe she tried to save them and was cursed then, and she just vanished like that.
Imagine Athena and Poseidon looking for their daughter for DECADES without a trace. Is not even that Poseidon had to restrain himself for a lot of time, he just didn't THINK about that until he met Sally and they really had a connection that led into their brief romance.
Athena, in the meanwhile, is making a lot of kids with some sort of Mark of Athena 2. 0: Sister Edition. Like, the kids of Athena want to desperately find their missing sister, but there is no clue of where she might be. Like, the only reason why Athena and Poseidon didn't start a war against Zeus is because I believe he didn't make it known to everyone that he had Perse cursed.
Then Athena grows colder towards the family. Poseidon grows meaner towards mortals. And then somday, Percy is born. And something shifts in the world. But Annabeth wasn't born much before, so they believe Annabeth is her.
Athena knows that ain't the case, and so does Poseidon. But Zeus keep a close eye to Annabeth, until he learns that Poseidon too had a daughter, around the same time Annabeth was born.
Oooohhh, the drama 🤩

PJO Future AU head-cannon stuff (some ARE taken from other peoples head-cannons bc they’re awesome):
- Will Solace would not be a medic/be in the medical field— I feel like just because he’s good at it doesn’t mean he likes it. Maybe he’d be a teacher because of his leadership skills.
- I feel like from working in the infirmary and having people close to him pass, Nico would choose a medical field job. I feel like he’d be an RN (registered nurse) or doctor and work at like an urgent care (er is too crazy for him— or maybe it wouldn’t and he’d like the chaos)
- I also feel like there’d be a not so great injury and Nico would be like “Oh let me see” then see it and be like “oh that’s really cool” not much would phase him— or it would but he’d find it fascinating
- I feel like the fact that they didn’t have these new kinds of tech when Nico was growing up also adds to his fascination. Like what do you mean x-Ray machines exist?
- I feel like Percy would do well with water jobs— like maybe he’d be a marine biologist and he’d find it fun to just communicate with the ocean life.
- Frank and Hazel would take a lot of dual credit classes or graduate early from highschool so they could focus on the camp— like they’d take online stuff so they could spend more time focusing on camp. (hope that makes sense) I’m not sure what I think their careers would be.
- Leo would own his own mechanic shop after going to trade school (saw on tiktok)
- Jason (revived) would be a professor of history— probably mythology.
- As a Valgrace shipper (dont judge pls) I think that they’d get together shortly after Jason is revived (not too short— six months after?) because they’ve been through a lot already and don’t want to risk anything again.
Now, onto kids because I don’t see these often but I find it fun to imagine:
- Frank would be a girl dad. He’s got two daughters and is just so happy with them and Hazel.
- Percy and Annabeth would have three kids, two girls and a son, in that order. I feel like Percy and Annabeth would work hard to have good relationships with their kids and finally relax. I feel like they’d be sorta protective but also be very relaxed with them- educate them about being mature and making good choices.
- I feel like Annabeth would realize how important names were and try to name her kids after popular figures in history who had good stories
- Will and Nico would probably have two kids, both adopted, but one would be one of Will’s half-siblings/half-nephews. The kid was really little, like four or five, when he got to camp and Will just kinda adopted him so he didn’t have to be full-time at camp. They also have a daughter but not until the son is like 12. She’s also adopted and is also a half-blood but I feel like they wouldn’t know who her godly parent is until she’s 12 and then be shocked because she’s like a child of Zeus.
- Leo and Jason would wait a while and focus on their relationship and careers. Then they’d adopt two daughters (not at the same time) and raise them where they don’t know about half-bloods until they’re older. They’d probably be half-bloods so that way they could raise them the way they wished they were raised. Leo and Jason don’t want them to have to see and experience the stuff they had to at such a young age.
- I don’t think any of them would name their kids after any of their late friends. I saw someone, a while ago, bring up that it could result in bad memories or just not be an okay time yet to do so. So— I don’t think that Annabeth would name her kid Silena and I don’t think Nico would name his kid Bianca.
- However, I do feel like Annabeth and Percy would name their eldest Sally after Percy’s mom (it would work well with the headcannon that Annabeth would name her kids after people with good stories) and have her middle name be a positive powerful historical figure.
(I realize I left Piper out— I’ve been forgetting a lot about characters recently and need to go back and reread HOO in order to grasp what I think she’d do in the future)

Maybe in Another Life |3|
Pairing: Clarisse La Rue x Hunter of Artemis!Reader
Summary: You are a Hunter of Artemis, but you start to question what you truly want when you meet Clarisse and get to know her.
Warnings: Slight Titans Curse Spoilers
Word Count: 2.5k
Main Masterlist | Series Masterlist

You, Zoe, Percy, Thalia, Grover, Bianca, and the other head councilors were all seated around a table with Chiron and Dionysus. All of you were discussing the prophecy, what it meant, and more importantly who would go on the quest. Five people were meant to be going on the quest but since it was Zoe’s she got say in who should go on it. It was actually Percy who agreed that Zoe should be the one to decide and that the majority should be Hunters. Zoe would have preferred to have no campers, you agreed with her, but the prophecy indicated that it needed to include both Hunters and campers.
“Grover,” Zoe said, surprising the satyr. Zoe knew Grover would be helpful in tracking down where Artemis was.
“And Thalia,” Zoe said surprising the daughter of Zeus. Thalia hated Zoe but there was no way she’d turn down going on the quest when it meant she could save her friend.
“Phoebe,” Zoe said, flicking her eyes to you. You nodded, understanding Zoe’s thought processes. “She’s the best tracker we have.”
“And Bianca,” she finished.
You tensed up, your eyes snapping to Zoe. She didn’t pick you. You had nothing against Bianca, she was new and nice enough, but she had no experience, with a quest this dangerous you didn’t want someone inexperienced going with your sister. You clenched your jaw to keep yourself from speaking up. You knew your place; you questioned Zoe but never in front of a group like this. Zoe met your eyes with a glare, silently making sure you kept your mouth shut. At least she knew what your thoughts were, she wouldn’t be surprised when you confronted her after leaving the big house.
“Wait!” Percy didn’t keep his mouth shut. “What about me? I want to go too!”
“Oh,” Grover said, looking at his friend. “I’ll stay behind?” He looked at Chiron, you, and then Zoe.
“No.” Zoe smirked at the boy. “No boys allowed.” She flicked a glance at Grover, “He doesn’t count.” Grover frowned but didn’t say anything more.
You caught Clarisse’s mouth twitch up in a smile at Zoe’s words. The girl was the head councilor of the Ares cabin and had remained relatively silent for the most part, surprisingly. Ares kids were usually all about a fight and begging to go on quests but when they were talking about which campers would go on this quest she hadn’t volunteered. Clarisse agreed when the Stoll brothers said it sounded like two people were going to die based on the prophecy. A flicker of what you could only describe as surprise flashed across her face when Zoe chose Bianca to go on the quest. You would bet she had the same thoughts as you, bringing someone so new and untrained was crazy.
“But I need to be on this quest! I need to save Annabeth!” Percy tried to reason with Zoe. You knew it was no use, there was no way Zoe would budge on this, there was no way she’d ever let a boy come along on a quest.
“Not everyone wants you crashing their quest fish boy,” Clarisse snarked.
Percy flicked a glare at her but didn’t say anything, moving his attention right back to Zoe. You figured there was a story behind Clarisse’s words. The idea of Percy Jackson worming his way onto other’s quests didn’t surprise you. You didn’t think he desired attention and glory like a lot of demigods, if you were to guess his reasons were probably honorable, as if he felt he had to be the one to save the day, like it was his responsibility.
You stayed silent, dutifully at Zoe’s side as she and Percy continued to argue. It didn’t stop until Chiron stepped in, saying that it was Zoe’s decision. Not that Chiron could force her anyway, he had no say in what the Hunters did. As you, Zoe, and Bianca left the big house Thalia, Percy, and Grover stayed behind to continue talking with Chiron, while the other councilors dispersed back to their cabins as well.
Before the three of you left the big house though Zoe was approached by the Stoll brothers. You narrowed your eyes as they talked with Zoe. They said how Phoebe had been interested in a shirt at the camp gift shop and they wanted to give it to her as a gift. Zoe didn’t question it though, she just took the shirt with a roll of her eyes and pushed past them, shoving her way outside. You followed, looking back as the Stoll brothers silently giggled to themselves before running off when they caught your stare.
“Say goodbye to your brother,” Zoe said, coming to a stop not too far from the big house, looking back at Bianca. “Then make sure you’re packed; we leave at first light.” Bianca nodded and ran off in search of her brother. “Speak,” she said without turning to face you.
“Why am I not on this quest?” You asked calmly.
“Phoebe is the best tracker out of all of us. Even you know that,” Zoe said plainly.
“But what about Bianca?” You crossed your arms. You didn’t want it to sound childish, but that’s probably exactly how it looked, you weren’t chosen to go on a quest and now you were whining but that wasn’t the case, not really. “She’s new to this, not just being a Hunter.” You raised your arms gesturing around camp, “But all of this, to being a demigod. She’s barely had training.”
“She needs to learn eventually.”
“This quest is too important to be a training session.”
“Do you trust me?” You kept your mouth shut as you sucked in a breath. “Do you?” She asked again, it wasn’t like she didn’t know the answer.
“Without question.”
“And yet you question me,” she mumbled.
You gave her an unamused glare. The only one you trusted more than Zoe was Artemis and she knew that because it was the same for her. After Artemis, there was no one Zoe trusted more than you. The two of you had been together for so long, you knew each other better than you knew yourselves at times. However, unwavering trust didn’t mean not questioning things and just blindly following orders.
“You are needed here,” Zoe said.
“Bullshit,” you scoffed.
“Language,” Zoe snapped, glaring at you.
You couldn’t help but smile, shaking your head at Zoe, she was really stuck in the past at times. Since you were the oldest you went into town or interacted with mortals more than most. You were also better at adapting and not drawing attention to yourself. If a mission involved going somewhere public a group of pre-teen girls tended to draw attention, but being seventeen most people didn’t question your presence. Since you got to interact with the world a bit more you were able to keep with the times and not speak as if you were born a thousand years ago, even if you were. There was plenty you didn’t know about the human world, things you never cared to know, you didn’t need to know them, you just needed to be able to pass as a regular member of society occasionally.
“How can you say I’m needed here,” you got back to the subject at hand. “I’m needed with you. Our goddess is in danger, and I need to be by your side as we try and rescue her.”
“No.”
“You heard the prophecy,” you whispered, glancing around to make sure no one else was around. “You know what it means.”
“We don’t know anything yet,” she brushed you off, but you saw the way her back straightened just a bit.
You gave her an unconvinced look. Even if prophecies could be misleading and weren’t always literal, you knew you both had your suspicions. You had both been demigods for so long, with Artemis for so long, you weren’t naive enough to not make an educated guess at certain lines of the prophecy.
“I don’t have a good feeling about this,” you admitted. You stared into Zoe’s eyes, silently begging her to change her mind. “Please, let me come with you, let me do what I’m meant for and protect you.”
Zoe’s gaze softened. It was rare for Zoe to not be a hundred percent serious and stoic, but she was capable of showing emotion, other than annoyance, most didn’t get to see that though. “You’re needed here,” she repeated kindly. “Without Artemis and with me going on this quest our sisters need someone to lead them.”
You knew what Zoe was trying to say but that didn’t stop you from trying to convince her. “We’re at camp, they’d be perfectly safe until our return.”
“You can’t guarantee that.”
“Then let me make sure it happens,” you pleaded. “Let me go on this quest, if a leader is needed here then it should be you not me. You know you’re better at this than me.”
“We both know I have to lead this quest, it’s my quest.”
You dropped your head in defeat. You knew there was no convincing Zoe to let you come and there was definitely no convincing her to stay behind. You felt Zoe rest a hand on your shoulder as she stepped closer to you. “I will not fail,” she said softly. You raised your head just enough to look her in the eye. “I will rescue our goddess, I swear it.”
“I know,” you said, giving her a sad smile. “Promise you’ll come home as well.” You knew she couldn’t do that; no demigod could promise that when they went on a quest, hell they couldn’t promise that if they just went for a walk, a demigod’s life had a habit of being short and tragic, happy endings being a rarity. “The Hunters need you. I need you.” A part of you hated to admit that, you weren’t one to get overly emotional but the dread you were feeling over this quest made you say it. It was true, you needed Zoe, she kept you from going off course, she kept you in line, you couldn’t imagine a life without her.
Zoe sighed and removed her hand from your shoulder. She didn’t say anything, just offering you a sad smile in return. Then she turned and left you there, heading back to the cabin to inform the rest of the Hunters about the quest and what the plan was. You knew the others wouldn’t be thrilled about staying at camp even longer knowing Artemis was missing and now that Zoe was leaving but none of them would question her like you did, they would just silently accept their orders to stay and wait for your goddesses return.
“Trouble in paradise?” a snarky voice came.
A smile appeared on your lips as you instantly recognized the voice already. You turned to see the daughter of Ares herself standing behind you, her arms crossed.
“Aww, you waited around just for me?” you gave it right back. Clarisse scoffed, rolling her eyes. “Zoe knows what she’s doing, and I trust her decision.”
“Yeah, that’s why you were begging her to go on the quest.”
“I wasn’t begging.” You tilted your head at the implication of her words. “Were you eavesdropping?”
Clarisse clenched her jaw, glaring at you. “No,” she said through gritted teeth. “Was just curious why your leader wouldn’t want her second who happens to be her best fighter at her side.”
“So, you admit I’m the best fighter,” you smirked, gesturing arrogantly at yourself.
Clarisse rolled her eyes again. “Of the Hunters maybe but definitely not at camp.”
“Yeah?” you stepped cockily towards her. “And who would be the best fighter in camp, you?” she gave a shrug and nod, but you could see the arrogance in her eyes, she definitely believed she was the best fighter in camp. You couldn’t help but scoff at the claim. “Is that why I kicked your ass in capture the flag?”
“That is not want happened.”
“Funny, I seem to remember you on your back, your own spear in my hands, pointed at your throat.”
Clarisse stepped forward as if she were ready to brawl with you right there. You couldn’t get rid of your smile, staring right back, seeing the fire in her eyes. Clarisse might have been right; she might have been the best fighter at camp, but she was no match for your centuries of experience.
You and Clarisse continued to stare into each other’s eyes, your competitive spirits mixing, adding to the tension in the air along with something you couldn’t place. You weren’t sure what it was about the daughter of Ares that drew you in, that made you want to mess with her. You two finally broke your stare down when someone cleared their throat.
Both of you quickly blinked, realizing how close the two of you had gotten as you each quickly stepped back. You turned to see Silena standing there, her eyes darting back and forth from you and Clarisse.
“You promised to hangout tonight,” Silena said to Clarisse, finally interrupting the awkward silence when it became clear neither you nor Clarisse would. Clarisse rolled her eyes but unlike every other time there was no annoyance behind it.
Your smile faltered as you watched as Clarisse allowed Silena to grab her arm and began to drag her back to the Aphrodite cabin or wherever they were going to hang out. “I expect a rematch,” Clarisse turned back as she continued to follow Silena.
You weren’t sure why your smile quickly appeared at the daughter of Ares’s words. “Can’t wait,” you said back with a smirk.
You did really want to fight the girl again. Capture the flag was fun and you had fun playing with her, but it was just that to you, a game. You wanted to really spar with her and see what she was actually capable of. Clarisse definitely had skills and you wanted to see just how good she was and see how well she could actually keep up with you. You knew she still wouldn’t win but it certainly would be fun beating her again.
You sighed and made for the journey back to the cabin. Zoe and them were leaving early and you might not have been going but you would be there to see them off. Until then you needed to help Zoe pack, making sure she had everything she would need for the quest. You also needed to make sure to talk to Bianca, the girl was young and inexperienced, and you wanted to give her as much advice and encouragement as you could before she left, you knew she was going to need it. The closer you got to the cabin the more the uneasiness and dread for this quest filled you, this quest wasn’t going to have a happy ending, you knew that, you were just afraid of what that would look like.

Those comments about whether Percy should be the ✨️IT girl✨️ of the universe or the multiverse got to me
I started thinking about how beautiful she is and how she is accidentally causing a war between the gods, then I started thinking a little and remembered another situation where the beauty of a goddess/woman caused a war, That's right, I'm talking about the Trojan War
All that confusion (according to mythology) started because Eris threw an apple on the table and offered it to the most beautiful goddess, which caused a conflict between the goddesses who got up to get the apple (Athena, Hera and Aphrodite), not Would it be funny if we recreated this scene with the big three?
During act 4 the yanderes are watching the PJ world, they are watching the PJ gods interact at a visibly tense dance, it is very obvious that the three brothers are uncomfortable or irritated at having to interact with each other, during a small argument between the three of them the goddess Eris approaches
She praises the three for having such beautiful daughters and says she wants to offer this golden apple to the God who has the eldest daughter, she throws the apple towards the three and they all get up to catch it and that's when a huge fight begins over which semi -goddess is the most beautiful (let's change the age at which Thalia became a hunter and we will also change the age at which Bianca died so that they are both at the height of their teenage beauty to be able to "compete" with Percy)
The three decide to use the opinion of a quarter to decide who is the most beautiful, initially Zeus asks Hera to be the judge but she refuses (she totally does this as revenge because when she asked him to be the judge last time he refused), no goddess wants to judge this case so they choose a mortal woman to decide
PJ Hades knows that Bianca is not the most beautiful but it is a matter of paternal love to defend her honor, PJ Zeus is defending that Thalia is the most beautiful both as a political act and as a matter of narcissism but he knows that she is not is the most beautiful and PJ Poseidon is arguing that Percy is the most beautiful both because he loves her and because he KNOWS he is right (this will be the ONLY time that ror Poseidon agrees with PJ Poseidon)
In a similar way to the original tale, the three gods go to the mortal and each one makes a different proposal about what the woman will gain depending on which girl she chooses, meanwhile the three girls are next to their respective fathers, each wearing a beautiful dress and decorated with beautiful jewelry (Percy's dress has a marine theme and she is decorated with pearls, Bianca's dress has a gothic theme and her jewelry is all black, while Thalia's dress has a sea theme stormy night sky and her jewelry is more varied jewelry)
Percy (despite actually being the prettiest) loses the competition since Zeus's bribe was better, it all ends up in an even bigger mess than at the beginning because now Poseidon and Hades are particularly bitter about how Zeus is boasting about his victory and the enmity between the three increases
Unfortunately they are no longer at the height of Greece so waging a war to demonstrate dissatisfaction with the result of the contest like Hera and Athena did is impossible (ror Poseidon is almost having an aneurysm due to PJ Poseidon not starting a war or a massacre in the name of his daughter's honor)
How do the ror gods react to this? (more specifically the three big)
"Poseidon is arguing that Percy is the most beautiful both because he loves her and because he KNOWS he is right (this will be the ONLY time that ror Poseidon agrees with PJ Poseidon)"
WRONG!
there is nothing pjo!poseidon can do that would even satisfy ror!poseidon by 1%
he calls percy beautiful, and ror!poseidon would be like "THATS IT? only 'beautiful'? what, do you need a thesaurus or something, MY DAUGHTER IS MORE THAN JUST 'BEAUTIFUL', SHE'S--" *rants for the next few hours describing his daughter-wife's beauty*
he'd also judge the dress pjo!poseidon gives her 😭 like "is that the best dress you could give her? how DARE you insult by daughter by giving her such a sub-par dress! you're clearly trying to sabotage her!!! 😡🔱"
and omggggg when percy actually loses, someone would need to hold this man back. he's pissed at EVERYONE (except his daughter-wife ofc 🥺). he'd be pissed that pjo!poseidon doesn't even TRY to fight for his daughter's honor, pissed at pjo!zeus for cheating, and pissed at pjo!hades for thinking his daughter even had a chance (sorry bianca, but he hates you for existing 💔), pissed at the human for taking zeus' bribe, etc...
once hades gets a handle on what pjo!zeus' personality is like, he already knew it would end with thalia/zeus winning because he knows pjo!zeus WOULD cheat, so he's not that surprised. disappointed that he would cheat, but not surprised. he's a little miffed that the girls would be put in such a demeaning and embarrassing position tho, and if he were there, he would like to have a word with eris for causing this mess (again).
he'd definitely prefer it if percy won tho cuz he's in love with her AND knows that she's the prettiest of the bunch. sorry to thalia and bianca, but he doesn't know or care for them 😭
meanwhile zeus is cackling and laughing at his loser brothers 😂 he would definitely try to hide behind adamas when shit gets real, but adamas would happily kick him aside and let him face the consequences 😭

Can someone pls bring these fic ideas to fruition
Amphitrite has a daughter the same age as Percy. They were born due to the Sea Rulers taking a break from their marriage. However, to shield them from Hera and Zeus respectively, they are claimed by Triton. They are allowed to stay in cabin 3 as Poseidon's grandchildren. Cue absolutely chaos while the unlikely sibling pair try to save Olympus.
The Fates had have enough of Zeus's bullheadedness. So as punishment they forced him to live out Percy Jackson's life, unable to tell anyone that he is trapped in Percy's mind as a vague voice that he absolutely refuses to listen to.
Percy has two best friends. The trio has stuck through thick and thin. They come to Camp Half-Blood, only to be claimed by the Sea family(Poseidon, Amphitrite, and Triton). Cue chaos while everyone tries to determine who is who's kid.
The Fates meddled and hence Thalia, Percy, Bianca, and Nico were raised at camp, while Annabeth, Luke, and Will are the newcomers.

I've always wondered...
What if Percy was a Girl?
I've always been thinking of this but I just wondered.
Like instead of Perseus her name would be Andromeda Jackson.
Full name: Andromeda Rhea Jackson
Andy Jackson, Daughter of Posiden
How would everything look of Percy was female?
I've always wondered this.
Like everything stays the same Except Percy is Female named Andy Jackson
Pretty sure I have seen a dozen fanfics that go like that. Personally, I'm not a fan of gendebending, but it's a popular concept.
Several things come to mind, the obvious things.
Remember how Percy was gravely underestimated at the start? I think it would be a bit more prevalent here. I am not implying that certain characters are more misogynistic, it's more along the lines of not putting a young girl in even more danger.
I think more characters would be prone to sympathizing with a female Percy. Luke mainly, Annabeth too, other characters like Thalia, Jason to name a few.
The dynamic with Hunters and Amazons would be completely different. And a female Percy would drill in their heads the grave consequences of blind hatred of men and misandry and coming from a female, it would be more of a wake up call than anything else.
Percy and Zoe dynamic would have been even more interesting and closer than one in the books, albeit less meaningful since Zoe wouldn't be overcoming her stigma about men.
I think certain characters like Nico, Rachel, and Annabeth, who all have/had a crush on Percy, will explore a slightly different dynamic or an even more intimate one with female Percy. Nico might also not feel as disgraced or shamed by his own righteous feelings towards Percy.
Certain characters like Leo or Piper might be attracted to female!Percy (which they were originally not cause self explanatory).
The not so obvious things but more important things: (trauma coming your way)
Poseidon would be more protective and slightly more guilty if female!Percy ends up resembling Sally more. Cause now the sea god knows not only did he abandon his queen among mortals, he also abandoned his little princess, his only mortal daughter.
(Probably similar dynamics with Seafam. Especially Triton and Amphitrite)
Now, we come to Gabe. We know what a despicable human scum he is to Sally but a female!Percy, a young girl? Alone with Gabe and his friends? Since 6 years of age? I think we can all imagine the horrors.
Think of how all firstborn children of the big three, the direct results of oathbreaking, would then be female. All women. A new era of female led army of demigods, directly challenging certain misogynistic history of the Olympians. (Thalia, Andromeda(female!Percy, Bianca).
Think of how Zeus(other Olympians, too), with his unending ego and despicable nature, will fall at last at the hands of women. After how he uses women, as some sort of tool and a means of venting, a fitting end for him.
I may not like gender bending, but this has its merits as it becomes not only about changing oppressive ways of the Olympian Gods but also about defying patriarchy.
It would make some lovely additions to the essence of the series itself so it's not a bad idea at all.
These are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head. Will reblog if I remember more. But anyway, I'm pretty sure the fandom will be filling this up with headcanons anyway.

We talk about the whole “dead moms” thing in the Riordanverse but no one brings up the bad dads
[PJO]
1)Percy’s dad literally told him he wished Percy hadn’t been born, the first time they talked
2)Annabeth’s dad was always at work +neglected her +kinda chose his other family over her
3)didn’t Grover’s dad die searching for Pan?
4)Thalia’s dad always ignored her and never answered her prayers until Athena interfered in Titan’s Curse
5)Nico’s father literally told him he wished Nico had died instead because he liked Bianca better (definitely not Hades’s best moment)
6)Rachel’s dad is an a$$hole
[HoO]
7)Jason didn’t meet his dad until he was fighting in Athens, age 16
8)Leo didn’t meet his dad until he was 15 and I’m pretty sure he didn’t see him again after that either
9)Piper’s dad always neglects her and in Lost Hero she said he usually gets distracted after max 30 seconds of talking to her
10)Hazel’s dad only appeared once when she was 13 after having abandoned her and her mom with a curse
11)Frank’s dad gave him a spear and a death mission at 16 first time he saw him and for Riordanverse standards that’s great
12)Reyna’s dad went insane and she had to kill him
[ToA]
13)Meg’s dad was murdered when she was 5 as punishment and then Nero abused the living sh!t out of her
14)Lavinia felt she was a disappointment to her dad for refusing to continue the family tradition/business of dancing
15)Lester talks many times about how Zeus abused and manipulated him
[Magnus Chase]
16)Magnus only meets his dad twice and it’s all supposed to be fine
17)Samirah’s father is a horrible megalomaniac trickster who wanted to control his children and willed her to die in Hammer Of Thor
18)Alex’s dad is an a$$hole
19)Hearthstone’s dad is a monster both literally and metaphorically
20)Blitzen’s dad is dead
21)Mallory’s dad was alcoholic and abusive
22)T.J. died because, due to his father, he couldn’t refuse a challenge and then went another 150 years before meeting Tyr
I haven’t read the Kane Chronicles yet (I’m planning to) but there seems to be a pattern in the rest of his books
Shout out to Silena’s dad. He had a pastry shop. Must have been handsome cause he got with the literal goddess of love. Sent his daughter pastries at camp when she was sad. The only good dad in these books.

Asteroid Hera (103)
"Queen of the gods, and goddess of women, marriage, childbirth, heirs, kings, and empires. She is the goddess of the sky, the wife and sister of Zeus, and the daughter of Cronus and Rhea. She was usually depicted as a regal woman in the prime of her life, wearing a diadem and veil and holding a lotus-tipped staff. Although she is the goddess of marriage, Zeus's many infidelities drive her to jealousy and vengefulness. Her sacred animals include the heifer, the peacock, and the cuckoo. Her Roman counterpart is Juno."
❀ Someone's Asteroid Hera conjunct or opposite your Venus can indicate that that person is jealous of the romantic attention you receive from others and the romantic attention you give to other (especially if the Hera person is a feminine)
❀ Similarly, Hera conjunct Venus in a Natal Chart is indicative of someone who has the potential to be vindictive and jealous in a relationship. It also indicates being jealous and vindictive towards other women in a feminines chart.
❀ Someone's Hera in your 5th House can indicate that someone is jealous of the preconceived notion that you are receiving attention from anyone other than them. Additionally, it also indicates that they feel jealous when your attention is on anyone other than them. This goes for your Natal Chart as well. It can also indicate that one party is jealous about the accolades and talents of the other party.
❀ Hera in the 1st House or conjunct the Ascendant in Synastry can indicate that one (or both) parties were already in a committed relationship with someone else when the two parties met. (Tom Hanks + Rita Wilson, Blake Lively + Ryan Reynolds)
❀ In a Natal Chart, hard aspects from Hera to the Sun can indicate having an appearance that is alluringly pretty like a siren. (Megan Fox, Laetitia Casta)
Whereas soft aspects from Hera to the Sun can indicate having an appearance that is naturally pretty (Bianca Balti, Gigi Hadid) I've also noticed that the average person tends to find the latter more attractive.
❀ Hera conjunct Juno can indicate mutual jealousy between two parties, and the house Hera is in can indicate what causes it. Ex. If it falls in the 4th House it could indicate that both parties are jealous of how close one is to someone else. The Hera person will act on this jealousy whereas the Juno person will not.
❀ Hera in the 7th House in Synastry can indicate that one partner is jealous about the romantic attention the other partner receives.

*Essay on Children of the Big Three, original characters, and canon compliance*
Trigger Warnings: Death/Murder
During ace week this year, in one of my oneshots I had a, minor, original daughter of Zeus named Enid, which has sent me down a rabbit hole of thoughts about big three children, and how to make original characters with Zeus/Jupiter, Poseidon/Neptune, or Hades/Pluto as their godly parents while still maintaining the integrity of the story. That is to say, Percy being the child of the prophecy and the acknowledgement that the Big Three Pact was created and subsequently disbanded from the mid-1940s [while Grover says in the Lightning Thief that the pact was post-WWII, I have reason to believe that the prophecy itself, (and therefore the pact), was given during the war, between 1941 and 1943, rather than after it's conclusion. The reason behind this has to do with Riordan's wonky timeline, which I will probably make a separate post about] to the end of the Second Titan War in The Last Olympian, which is quite a large window of time; about seventy years. Note, this is solely talking about the creation of OCs that do not contradict canon at all, and therefore is not talking about OCs such as another Jackson kid, a third Grace kid, or a different prophecy child, those stories are not meant to fall under the realm of canon compliance.
First, it is easiest to split the children of the big three into four distinct categories—older than 16 when the pact was enacted; under sixteen, but already born, when the pact was enacted (this category would include Hazel, Bianca, and Nico); born during the pact (Thalia, Jason, and Percy); and born after the pact was dissolved (my character in The Hearth's Children Enid). I also will be looking into the difference between Greek and Roman Big Three kids, as that has some interesting implications of the pact.
While none of the books talk about whether the pact also included in their Roman forms, I am writing this under the assumption that it is. There are many reasons I believe this, but I will detail the main ones below. While it is evident that the Twelfth Legion has never heard of the Great Prophecy, we also know that the Sibylline Books, where the Romans are known to get their prophecies from, has been destroyed for centuries and only remains in Ella's photographic memory. This is not relevant, however, because Ella, of course, is not known by Camp Jupiter until after Percy fulfills the prophecy. Additionally, the only reason they know the Prophecy of Seven is because it was transcribed before the book was burnt. It is not unreasonable to believe that the Great Prophecy, like the Prophecy of Seven, was in the original Sibylline Books but lost because of it being destroyed and was not saved. It can also be inferred that Camp Jupiter did not know of the pact made as well, given they do not seem too shocked at Jason, and later Hazel and Nico's, existence. That being said, Jason's treatment is also a big indicator that the pact was still prevalent to Jupiter, Neptune, and Pluto. While Jason being at camp didn't seem to be overly shocking to the Camp Jupiter population from what little we know about it, he is also revered by everyone, despite being in the 5th Cohort, which is known to be valued as less than. If the Big Three pact did not cross over to the Romans then wouldn't it be safe to say that Jupiter and Neptune (and to some small degree, Pluto) would have had a ton more kids to compensate for the fact that they couldn't have Greek kids? There is no feasible reason for Percy and Thalia to be Greek if Neptune and Jupiter respectively could have as many kids as they want with no consequences. But since Camp Jupiter isn't aware of the Big Three Pact, the lack of big three kids over the past half-century probably seems more like a strange coincidence than anything else. [Note, it is extremely likely that, even in series, there are legacies of Jupiter, around camp. While it is unknown just how many generations removed a legacy is allowed to be to still join the legion, Octavian is still a member despite his family being in the legion for 100 years (meaning Apollo must be, at minimum, his great-grandfather) which would put his first family member in the legion pre-pact, and therefore pre-the decline of Big Three Kids. Additionally, Claudia (from Camp Jupiter Classified) has no problem entering the Legion as a great-granddaughter of Mercury before she learns that she is, in fact, a demigod too. Shen Lun, Frank's great-grandfather, is extremely far removed from Poseidon, but I count him as an anomaly because he was allowed to join the legion due to his strength rather than his nearness to godly blood. Neptune and Pluto are far less likely to have descendants at camp (Pluto actually wouldn't have any at the time of Heroes of Olympus cause Hazel claims she would be alone if they separated by godly parent, though it is possible there are descendants of Pluto in New Rome or have already left the legion) and, as we see with Percy and Shen Lun, Neptune's children and descendants were othered, and therefore would be unlikely to send any children they had to the legion which would explain why Percy's existence seems far more shocking than any other Big Three kid] This fact can also have been why Jason, Hazel, and Nico weren't completely gaped at, since legacies of their godly parents likely have been steadily in the legion for decades.
Now that we have covered the Greek/Roman divide when it comes to Big Three Kids, and that your OC being Roman or Greek has very little effect on their existence, only on their peer's perception of them, let's move onto years. (Before we begin that, I would like it noted that I will be referring to the gods collectively as their Greek names; by that meaning Zeus will refer to both Zeus and Jupiter, unless otherwise stated for simplicity sake) The easiest two, and the only two where there isn't any nuance and will be plausible in canon timeline 100% if the time are: over 16 at the time of prophecy and born post-The Second Titan War. If your OC is already 16 by the time a "Child of the Eldest Gods/Shall Reach Sixteen Against All Odds" than the prophecy could not be about them. While, yes, part of the reason the Big Three Pact was enacted was due to the overpowered nature of Big Three children, a larger portion of it was so that the prophecy was postponed as long as possible. It would be a lot easier for a seventeen year old, who is not the prophecy child, to fly under the radar rather than a fifteen year old, who very well could overthrow the Greek gods in accordance to the Oracle of Delphi. No matter who you make your OC's godly parent, they could, plausibly, exist within the realm of the series. Same goes with children born after the Last Olympian. When Percy is being awesome and declaring that the gods pay child support, he also mentions the fact that the pact was kind of stupid since two thirds of the gods broke it anyway. And with the prophecy already fulfilled, much of the gods (especially Zeus') fears were greatly diminished. Personally, I believe that the Zeus cabin would fill up pretty quickly about a decade after the Percy Jackson series conclusion due to the rather adulterous and promiscuous myths involving Zeus, and that the Poseidon Cabin isn't that far behind in size. (In fact, Poseidon even jokes with Percy to say to expect siblings in due time, which could mean he already has plans to have more kids now that he knows he won't subject them to a life of pure horror). Hades is a bit more subdued, and is often portrayed as being overall pretty loyal and not so promiscuous so his cabin probably would not fill up too fast, but rather have a few kids sporadically here and there rather than a bucketload at the same time like his brothers.
In order to maintain canon compliance, if an OC were to be born post-pact but pre-the dissolving of the pact, there is no way their story wouldn't be inherently tragic. The only somewhat happy end for a Big Three character in this category would be to join the Hunters of Artemis, as Thalia and Bianca did to take them out of the running for Prophecy Kid, but if the OC were a boy? Well, they'd have to meet a tragic end before turning 16. Again, we know from the books that no big three kid attends camp after the pact is dissolved before Thalia is discovered, which leads me to believe that, if Zeus or Poseidon (In my opinion, the fact that Hades does not break the oath is a rather poignant and important factor in his characterization and how we, as the audience, are meant to interpret Hades in this medium. In Blood of Olympus, Nico talks about the justice of Hades to Bryce Lawrence, and a key aspect of justice is the keeping of one's words. Sure, Hades is often seen as a villain, but he never lies, but rather he manipulates the truth and omits, example being he said to Nico in The Last Olympian he would hurt Percy, which he didn't, but he never claimed he wouldn't hold him hostage. So, personally, I do not think a child of Hades OC born in this time frame could be seen as canon compliant, but one could try and argue if they see another way to keep the integral bits of Hades' personality while still breaking the oath. But, honestly, I don't see it as plausible.) were to sire a kid in their Greek forms, they'd most likely be dead before twelve, as that is the age that Camp Half-Blood typically begins looking for campers. As for their Roman aspects, again, the child would be dead before sixteen, but if we were to look at what was previously stated about Jason's characterization, it is safe to assume no Roman Big Three kid could make it to Lupa (as we know all Big Three kids would be able to pass her, as Jason succeeded at two). Why they fail to reach her is up to the creator of the OC, but personally, I think a Neptune kid would probably be struck down by Jupiter and a Jupiter kid by Neptune or Pluto (Jason's survival is strongly tied to the fact that he was from Sonoma and therefore didn't have to travel far to get to Lupa) would not only be plausible, but also have that inherently tragic Big Three thing.
There is a little caveat if the Big Three kid were born after Percy, which is to say that they could, possibly, survive past sixteen. Personally, I think this will depend on how much younger than Percy they are. If they were born within four years, their chance of survival is slim to none. They'd probably be killed. (Jason, of course, is an exemption, which is why their is a slim chance of survival, but the author would need an extremely thorough explanation on how they survived without either camp up until twelve to fifteen.) While it technically goes against compliance to have a Big Three kid arrive during the course of Heroes of Olympus and Trials of Apollo, there is the possible argument that can be made that an OC this age could still respect the integrity of the story, which is the most important aspect of Canon Compliance in my opinion. Over four years younger than Percy has a highest survival chance of kids born during the pact, with the younger they are, the chance of their survival increasing massively. A kid born a few days before the battle honestly has a pretty fine chance of survival.
Now, onto the most interesting category of Big Three Kids in my opinion: those born less than sixteen years pre-the Pact. Firstly, like with the previous section, I do not believe it is possible for a child of Hades to be in this section without destroying the integrity of the story. Hades' protectiveness when it comes to his children is an integral part of the story, as well as the way that Hades tries to hide them from Zeus, another Hades kid in this age range doesn't make sense. Additionally, if we are to go off the idea that the prophecy was first stated in 1941 (which, as previously stated, makes the most sense with the wonky timeline) another ulterior motive for Marie to move to Alaska could be to escape the wrath of Jupiter, and another reason Gaea targeted Hazel, because she had the power to be the prophecy kid. But, she dies before Zeus really has the chance to track her down. (Yes, Alaska is beyond the gods, but do you really believe Zeus would have let that stop him if Hazel survived until 15? I doubt it). A Pluto OC makes slightly sense than a Hades OC but I think in both aspects Hades' characterization is that he cares about his children as best he can. I think it's in character for Pluto to have actually visited Hazel, but Marie didn't let him get close to her because of her resentment towards him due to Hazel's curse. Also, Hades' having three kids within four years is a lot, and with his less promiscuous ways, it contradicts the integrity of canon too much to have other young Hades kids when the prophecy was uttered and the pact enacted. Also, Hades tries to harbor Nico and Bianca, and if he had more children he tried to do that with, Persephone would've started a riot.
Now with the logistics of Hades OCs out of the way, let's talk about Zeus and Poseidon. Honestly, it doesn't make sense for there not to be Zeus and Poseidon kids in this age range because of their, as previously stated, adulterous and promiscuous ways. It can be argued, and I will argue, that the way in which Zeus demands Nico and Bianca to be handed over by a certain date has the implications that Zeus already had kids that had been "turned over". As tragic as it is, the canon heavily implies that Zeus euthanized murdered his own children. At least, that is how I've always interpreted it. (I doubt he turned them into trees or other plants, but it is possible, it is just for me the reason Zeus turns Thalia into a tree is because he wasn't the one to kill her, Hades was, and Zeus does not seem like the type of god to take that lightly.) Poseidon's under sixteen kids must've been killed before Zeus went after Bianca and Nico, because Hades seems to be the only one who Zeus is really grilling to hand over his children from the memories we see in The Last Olympian. Was Poseidon planning on harboring his children like Hades tried to, but Zeus got to them first? Did Poseidon just cross his fingers and hope for their survival without much aid? Did Poseidon turn them over to Zeus to avoid fighting? We can't be sure. As much as I'd like to believe the first one, especially since Poseidon seems to be a decent enough father to Percy (and Tyson and Trident though neither of them are half-bloods and therefore could not be the kid of the prophecy), Percy also is heavily implied to be his father's favorite, though whether that's because of his status as a forbidden child or because of Sally, it is unknown, so it is possible Poseidon just crossed his fingers and hoped his children were strong enough to survive. I don't feel like Poseidon would turn his kids over to Zeus, but honestly who's to say?
Clearly, I have a lot of feelings about Big Three OCs and just children of the Big Three in general. If you're really interested in the discrepancies in the timeline of The Pact, feel free to ask questions on it, because I personally haven't seen anyone talk about it but I think about it all the time. Also, if you've seen any posts on that topic, send it to me! I think about Riordan's wonky timeline a little too often to be healthy.
