Only one date is ever mentioned in-game, that being 2021. Considering that the Virtual Singer Fan Festa seems to be a stand-in for Magical Mirai 2021, we can assume that the Scramble Fan FESTA! event takes place in September 2021 (the real-life MM2021 was delayed to November due to covid-19, but the pandemic doesn't exist in-universe and MM Tokyo usually takes place at the beginning of September). There are Leo/need Daily Life social media posts that show them attending Magical Mirai, and do state the year of the event, but these can be considered promotional material for the event itself rather than canon material, especially since the characters address in-game that only one year has passed since the start of the story (despite the fact they have celebrated new year's day 4 times now. Timeloop things).
Based on this date, we can actually place exactly when every main character was born. The cutoff date for Japanese schools is April 1st, making Ena the oldest main character, being a 3rd year with a birthday of April 30th, followed by Tsukasa on May 17th, so on so forth all the way down to Kohane, a 2nd year with a birthday of March 2nd.
Considering when Scramble Fan FESTA is set, Ena, who was a 2nd year at the time, would be 17 years old. That would place her date of birth as April 30th, 2004. Additionally, while Kohane, a first year at the time, should be 15 during the event, the game considers her to be 16 due to using a set age for every grade bracket. Regardless, the event setting places her date of birth as March 2nd, 2006.
Based on this, we can conclude that:
Ena, Tsukasa, Rui, and Shizuku were born in 2004
Mafuyu, Kanade, Airi, Minori, Saki, Toya, Nene, An, Ichika, Mizuki, Emu, Haruka, Honami, and Akito were born in 2005
Shiho and Kohane were born in 2006
This also means that Ena, Tsukasa and Rui are all older than the MEIKO software (released November 5th 2004), and everyone except Kohane is older than the KAITO software (released February 17th 2006). Every main character is older than Miku, the Kagamines, and Luka based on this information.
Using the information around set ages*, we can also work out rough estimates for when the side characters were born. For example, Arata, who was 19 during the first 3 years of the game, is 3 years older than the members of VBS who were all considered to be 16. Since the members of VBS were born in the April 2005 - April 2006 school year range, Arata was likely born in the 2002-2003 school year range.
* based on how characters like Youta and Miu, who are said to be the same age as Leo/need, were both confirmed to be 16 years old before the 3rd anniversary age-up. Also Haruka's age is confirmed as 16 at a point in time when she shouldn't be 16. Timeloop things.
Based on this, the oldest living side character, Kounosuke, who was 55 pre-3rd anniversary and 39 years older than Emu, was probably born between April 1966 and April 1st 1967. On the younger side of things, Hanano, who was 14 pre-3rd anni, was likely born between April of 2007 and 2008. I've put the rest of the estimated side character DOBs under the cut.
assumed age as of 3rd anniversary in brackets (literally just pre-age-up age + 1)
Rakunosuke Otori - April 2nd 1922 ~ April 1st 1923 (98 (at time of death. would be 100 if still alive))

Additional notes (mod is rambling atp):
Rakunosuke died when he was 98 years old. In the WxS main story, Emu says that he died a year ago. Assuming Emu was 15 at the time, they have an age gap of around 83 years. The year of birth listed here was based on that assumption.
We know that Kanade's mother died aged 30, but we do not know when she died. She is still alive in flashbacks set roughly 10 years prior to the events of game.
In the third fanbook, ages were given for Mrs Asahina, Shindou, Yuuki, Asahi, and Arisa as one year less than they are given in this post. The reason for me adding a year on is because of the confirmation in a livestream of Daigo's age being 27. Daigo is meant to be the same age as Shousuke, whose age was given as 27 prior to the 3rd anniversary. When his age was provided on stream, he was grouped with the 5 I mentioned earlier. Based on this we can assume that all their ages are taken from the same time frame, i.e, pre-3rd anni (and this also confirms that NPCs inexplicably don't age but we'll ignore that for continuity reasons).
We do not have confirmed ages for Nagi, Reki, Sakaki, Ohara, MMJ's landlady, Mafuyu's father, Hiiragi, or the members of ReLight yet
Rui suggests that Reki is the same age as him in A Story Where You Are The Star while talking about both him and Asahi in the same sentence. Asahi was since confirmed as 18/19, so it is likely that Reki is also around that age.
Nagi's age is left blank in the fanbook due to it not being revealed that she was dead at the time of publication. She is younger than Taiga, but we don't know by how much, but nonetheless she was likely born in the early 1980s. It is unlikely we will ever know her exact age.
Ohara is stated to be in his mid-30s, placing his birth year as somewhere in the 1980s, likely around 1986-1989. Sakaki is an old college friend of Ohara's, so he is likely a similar age.
No NPCs are given exact birthdays
#this post is an apology for the fact i never made a timeline when i said i would. sorry this is kinda confusing also#in short just know that we can assume that the game takes place in the 2021/2022 and 2022/2023 school years#don't use that as an excuse to be weird about the characters bc that's still the in-universe year(s) even if it's not the irl year.#this post is just for fun okay? okay.#project sekai#lore

Here is another instalment of my TF2 Alternate Universes, todays AU is about if the mercenaries lived in the 21st century in todays society, info is under the cut snd i hope you like it 😋
First we have the Mercenaries who aren't Mercenaries -
Scout - Scout who is named Jeremy Fast was born in 1996 making his 28 and he is a high school PE teacher for the boys, he is a good PE teacher but he been in trouble with the school a few times after parents complain that he's been flirting with the high school girl all between 13 - 16, he grew up with his single mom and his 8 half brothers and he is the youngest of the brothers, he's not sure who his dad was when he was younger but then he found out when he was 18 from his mom that his dad was a guy from france who met Jeremy's mom at the bar she works at while on a buisness trip, they then hit it off, had a one night stand then scout's mom had Jeremy, Jeremy's dad then disappeared after Jeremy was born but he still kept in contact with Jeremy's mom for child support, the only issue Jeremy has is that he can't seem to get a girlfriend, he went though dating apps, went out public areas like bars and concerts and even ask woman if they were single but nothing worked making him feel depressed that he can't get anyone to love him, another issue is that he has ADHD so he struggles to socialise full time and gets easily distracted, lastly, he's uses TikTok a lot to make random videos and he is a little popular on the platform but still can't get a girl to like him.
Soldier - Soldier who is named John Dow was born in 1979 making him 45 years old, he is a ex-military man who got let go from the military after being mentally unstable to be in the military, he found out from the military after being in it for 15 years that he has undiagnosed asperger's which was the reason the military had to let him go, John didn't want to be let go as he was used to being in the military for so long and he had nobody to go to as he was a orphan since he was 2 but he now on his own for a while with a single apartment that he bought with his veteran pension, he was also accepted to have a service dog for his asperger's and he ends up having a yorkshire terrier named Squibbs (This is based on my late yorkie with the same name and i just think it's funny seeing Soldier having a small dog like a yorkie as a service dog), the apartment he lives in also introduced him to his opposite neighbour named Dell and John is now having a sexual crisis as he has romantic feeling for Dell.
Pyro - Pyro who forgot his name was a firefighter but then he got into a accident where his body got completely burnt, he also gained severe memory loss after banging his head on a falling wooden board trying to get out the fire and now he stays in a care home as he started to act childish and unstable, he is not dangerous or unpredictable, he is just a lost and severely burnt human with mental issues that the doctor and nurses are trying their best to help him, he loves to draw, make balloon animals, is easily entertained and he has a big imagination but he can't seem to get his old memories back as he can't remember anything or anyone from his past life.

Maureen Wilson Plant
Maureen Plant, née Wilson was born in India. She was a trained nurse and the only wife of Led Zeppelin's frontman Robert Plant, and muse of the band's "Thank You" song. She is the mother of 3 of his children: Carmen Jane, Karac Pendra, and Logan Romero Plant.
Early Years and Family
Maureen F. Wilson was born in Kolkata (formerly Calcutta), India on November 20th, 1948. She has one younger sister, Shirley Wilson.
Guitarist Vernon Pereira (1944 – 25 October 1976), who was a founding member of the Band of Joy with Chris Brown, was her cousin.
Maureen Wilson's father was chief of the Calcutta mounted police. Their family moved to Trinity Road, West Bromwich sometime after Indian independence, where he became a steel factory owner in Birmingham.
[Maureen and Robert at their home, Jennings Farm at Blakeshall in Worcestershire, England, by Mike Randolph/Paul Popper/Popperfoto]
Relationship with Robert Plant
In 1966, Maureen Wilson met Robert Plant at a Georgie Fame concert, which at the last minute was canceled. From then on they began seeing each other and their relationship blossomed. Throughout the mid-1960s, Plant struggled financially. He played in various bands such as Listen, Band of Joy, and even had a few solo projects.
Plant later acknowledged that Maureen, who was working as a qualified nurse at the time, had helped him financially during this period of chopping and changing bands. Apparently, Plant even had a short stint working in Maureen’s father’s steel factory to make ends meet.
On November 9th, 1968, Robert and Maureen married. The reception took place at the Roundhouse, a venue Led Zeppelin played earlier that evening.
In 1969, Maureen traveled with Led Zeppelin on their North American Spring Tour, however, this was her last ever tour on the road with the band. After that, she stayed on the family farm and looked after their children.
Also in 1969, Robert Plant dedicated the track “Thank You” to her.
Robert and maureen had three children: Carmen Jane (born 21 October 1968); Karak Pendra (20 April 1972 – 26 July 1977); and Logan Romero Plant (born January 21 1979). Robert was present for the birth of all 3 of their children.
[November 21, 1976 - Robert and Maureen with their children Karac Pendra and Carmen Jane, with Scarlet Page (C) at "The Song Remains the Same" premiere party.]
Car accident and Karac's death
The day after the last Earls Court date, on March 26th 1975, Robert Plant, Maureen, and their two children set out on a trip to Marrakech, Morocco. Jimmy Page, his girlfriend Charlotte Martin and their daughter, Scarlet, joined the Plants in June. The two families travelled through July and wound up on the Greek island of Rhodes. On August 3rd, Page left to check on some property in Sicily. The next day, Maureen Plant was driving her family and Scarlet Page in a rented Austin Mini car down a narrow road on the island when she lost control. The car hit a tree hard. Thrown against the steering wheel, Maureen suffered life-threatening injuries and had lost a large amount of blood. Robert first thought she was dead. Maureen's leg was broken, her pelvis fractured, and she suffered concussion for 36 hours from a fractured skull. Robert and their children were seriously injured but Scarlet Page was unhurt. Charlotte Martin and Maureen's sister Shirley Wilson, who were following in the car behind managed to get medical help, but there was concern the local facilities were inadequate and Swan Song Records tour manager Richard Cole was contacted to bring the Plants back home to England for emergency treatment. Band manager Peter Grant arranged for two Harley Street specialists as well as blood plasma to be sent via private jet in the meantime. While Robert had to be moved again to the Channel Islands for tax reasons and recuperation, Maureen remained in London to continue recovery. Robert wrote the song 'Tea for One', about his feelings for her on tours away from home.
Karac Plant was at the tender age of five when he became suddenly ill with an unidentified viral infection. On July 26th 1977, Led Zeppelin traveled to New Orleans for the next show. As they were checking into the hotel, Robert received a call from his wife Maureen at the family's farmhouse near Kidderminster, Worcestershire. The first phone call said his son was sick, and within the next two hours later, she informed Robert that Karac had passed away. Earlier Karac had felt ill and been ordered to bed by the family doctor, but his condition deteriorated. Maureen called an ambulance but he failed to respond to treatment and died on the way to Kidderminster General Hospital on Tuesday 26 July 1977. Robert Plant was shocked and devastated. An autopsy held on Monday 1 August 1977, revealed Karac had died from natural causes. Only a week earlier Carmen had become ill with the same stomach enteritis which affected Karac. Karac's funeral and cremation was held in the first week of August 1977.
[Robert Plant and his extended family, including (L-R) his then girlfriend Jessica Jupp, his son Logan Romero, Maureen, 2 grandchildren, Carmen, her husband and child?, Shirley Wilson and son Jesse Lee aka Jordan Plant.]
The 1980s and beyond
Logan Romero Plant was born on 27 January 1979. His birth hardened Robert's resolve not to tour the United States for any length of time.
Robert and Maureen divorced in August 1983, but they have remained friends.
Maureen Plant dated Ian Hatton, guitarist for Jason Bonham around 1991.
In October 2010, she attended a number of UK shows of the Robert Plant and the Band of Joy European Tour 2010.

THIS DAY IN GAY HISTORY
based on: The White Crane Institute's 'Gay Wisdom', Gay Birthdays, Gay For Today, Famous GLBT, glbt-Gay Encylopedia, Today in Gay History, Wikipedia, and more … December 3
Self-portrait
1830 – Baron Frederick Leighton, English sculptor and painter, born (d.1896); Leighton's painting, long in disfavor, but coming back in style as more and more people learn to appreciate the Victorian Renaissance Revival, was enormously popular in his lifetime. Since Leighton's sympathies were with the Italian Renaissance tradition, his paintings - with their often mythological subject, monumental compositions, and figures clad in classical drapery - are among the last examples of the grand traditional manner in European art.
Daedelus and Icarus
Leighton's paintings and sculpture appealed to a large and influential segment of the Victorian public, which craved an art of "high seriousness."
Because he played by the established rules of the game, Leighton, whose homosexuality was widely known, pursued his career and his pleasure with discretion. He died at 65, the day after being made a baron, the first English painter to be so honored. Leighton was bearer of the shortest-lived peerage in history; after only one day his hereditary peerage ended with his death. As he was unmarried, after his death his Barony was extinguished after existing for only a day; this is a record in the Peerage.
Sigmund and Anna Freud
1895 – Pioneering psychologist and daughter of Siggmund, Anna Freud was born on this date (d.1982).
A pioneer in the field of child psychoanalysis, Freud neither conformed to conventional heterosexual expectations nor identified herself explicitly as a Lesbian. Even though it is impossible to know whether Freud was homosexual, it is relatively easy to conclude that she was decidedly not heterosexual in any typical sense.
Anna Freud's primary relationships were with her father, with whom she lived and cared for until his death in 1939, and two close female friends, Lou Andreas- Salome and Dorothy Burlingham. Burlingham became Freud's life partner and companion, although the sexual nature of their intimacy remains unclear.
Burlingham moved to Vienna in 1925 to begin her work in psychoanalysis. She lived with the Freud family in their apartment at Berggasse 19, which at that time included Sigmund Freud, his wife Martha, her sister Minna Bernays, and Anna Freud. She and Anna Freud became close friends and began their life-long collaboration on developing children's therapies and psychoanalysis. They worked and lived together for the rest of their lives. Freud helped raise Burlingham's children from a previous marriage.
1946 – Guy Hocquenghem(d.1988) was a French writer and queer theorist.
Guy Hocquenghem was born in the suburbs of Paris and was educated at the Lycée Lakanal in Sceaux and the Ecole Normale Supérieure in Paris. At the age of fifteen he began an affair with his high school philosophy teacher, René Scherer. They remained lifelong friends. His participation in the May 1968 student rebellion in France formed his allegiance to the Communist Party, which later expelled him because of his homosexuality.
Hocquenghem taught philosophy at the University of Vincennes-Saint Denis, Paris and wrote numerous novels and works of theory. He was the staff writer for the French publication Libération. Hocquenghem was the first gay man to be a member of the Front Homosexuel d'Action Révolutionnaire (FHAR), originally formed by lesbian separatists who split from the Mouvement Homophile de France in 1971.
With filmmaker Lionel Soukaz, Hocquenghem wrote and produced a documentary film about gay history, Race d'Ep! (1979) the last word of the title being a play on the word pédé, a French slur for gay men.
Guy Hocquenghem's Homosexual Desire (1972, English translation 1978) may be the first work of Queer Theory.
Hocquenghem died of AIDS on 28 August 1988, age 41.
Angus (R) with Quentin Crisp
1953 – Patrick Angus (d.1992) was a 20th century American painter who among many other works created a number of oil or acrylic paintings of the interior of the Gaiety Theater and some of its dancers and customers in the 1980s.
Some of the those titles are: Grand Finale (1985), The Apollo Room I (1986), Remember the Promise You Made (1986), Slave to the Rhythm (1986), All The Love in the World (1987), Hanky Panky (1991)
Born in 1953 in North Hollywood, California and raised in Santa Barbara, Patrick was a shy boy who wanted to be an artist. With no guidance and only misinformation for reference, he floundered. Although a kind high school art teacher mentored him and even let him use his studio, Patrick was afraid to broach the subject of his sexual angst with a heterosexual man.
In 1974, a scholarship to the Santa Barbara Art Institute led him to discover the book 72 Drawings by David Hockney (1971). Here he found an artist who celebrated his sexual persona in his work and who glamorized the "good" gay life in Los Angeles, only 100 miles away. However, when Patrick moved to Hollywood in 1975, he discovered that the good gay life does not exist for poor people, "unless, of course," as he bitterly noted, "they are beautiful."
Patrick, believing that he was sexually unattractive, was hopelessly lonely for the affection of an objectified beautiful boy.
In 1980, in New York City to see the Picasso Retrospective at the Museum of Modern Art, Patrick made a crucial observation of the sexual autobiography inherent in Picasso's work. Thereafter, Patrick began to paint large canvases based on his personal obsession with erotic loneliness.
Although a dedicated creator of portraits and still lifes, and an occasional designer of stage settings, Angus is principally known for works begun in 1981 depicting the young male erotic dancers at the Gaiety and other New York showplaces. Referring to an earlier French painter who made his reputation depicting the demi-monde, playwright Robert Patrick deemed Angus "The Toulouse-Lautrec of Times Square."
"Hanky Panky"
Angus appears as himself in the 1990 documentary movie Resident Alien, about Quentin Crisp in New York. Angus is portrayed by actor Jonathan Tucker in the 2009 dramatic movie An Englishman in New York, a biographical picture about the later years of Quentin Crisp. Crisp befriends Angus in both films, and encourages him to show his work.
Angus said he didn't have the happiest day of his life until he was on his deathbed, succumbing to aids at thirty-eight in 1992. It was then that he saw the proofs of Strip Show, a book of forty-seven color reproductions of his paintings, and could finally believe that his art would not be completely forgotten. He had worked in obscurity, defeated by early humiliations from galleries that caustically rejected his depictions of sexual loneliness and the "bad" gay culture of hustlers, tricks, and low clubs. Worn down by his failures, Angus gave up hope of exhibiting his paintings, until Robert Patrick wrote an essay about him in Christopher Street.
1967 – Martin Sorrondeguy is the singer of hardcore bands Los Crudos and Limp Wrist, the founder of the DIY record label, Lengua Armada Discos, documentary film director and a prominent figure in both the straight edge scene and the queercore scene. He currently does vocals in the band Needles.
Martin Sorrondeguy was born in Montevideo, Uruguay, grew up in Chicago, Illinois, United States. He sang about many issues facing Spanish speaking minorities in the U.S. as the vocalist for Los Crudos. The band recorded in both Spanish and English, releasing many recordings, and toured in South America and Mexico, as well as the U.S. and Canada. At the same time, Sorrondeguy started his independent record label, Lengua Armada Discos. While in Los Crudos, Sorrondeguy began making his documentary film Beyond The Screams: A U.S. Latino Hardcore Punk Documentary. The film was released in 2004.
It was during the time he was vocalist for Los Crudos that Sorrondeguy made his sexuality public and began to speak out about it. In 1997, he appeared in Scott Treleaven's documentary film Queercore: A Punk-U-Mentary and spoke about being gay in the hardcore punk scene.
In the 2000s, Sorrondeguy put together a new band called Limp Wrist, a straight edge queercore band. In 2001, he was featured in the Punk Planet publication We Owe You Nothing. In 2002, he appeared in the "Queer Punk" issue of the long running San Francisco-based punk zine Maximum Rock n Roll.
Since the early 2000s, Sorrondeguy has been very active in solo and group photo exhibitions of his photography, which has also been regularly documented in his semi-regular 'zine, Susto. Sorrondeguy has been an occasional guest lecturer on his experiences in Canada, Brazil, Australia and the U.S. Los Crudos continues to tour, embarking on U.S. and Scandinavian dates in 2016.
1968 – Brendan Fraser is an American and Canadian actor. He is best known for playing Rick O'Connell in The Mummy trilogy (1999, 2001, 2008), as well as for leading roles in comedy and fantasy films including Encino Man (1992), George of the Jungle (1997), Bedazzled (2000), Looney Tunes: Back in Action (2003) and Journey to the Center of the Earth (2008). Fraser branched into dramatic cinema with roles in School Ties (1992), Gods and Monsters (1998), The Quiet American (2002) and Crash (2004).
During a hiatus from film acting, Fraser found a new audience in television, with supporting roles in the History miniseries Texas Rising (2015), the Showtime drama series The Affair (2016-2017), the FX anthology series Trust (2018) and the DC Universe action series Doom Patrol (2019-).
Fraser, the youngest of four boys, was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, the son of Canadians Carol Mary (née Genereux) and Peter Fraser. His mother was a sales counselor, and his father was a former journalist who worked as a Canadian foreign service officer for the Government Office of Tourism. His maternal uncle, George Genereux, was the only Canadian to win a gold medal in the 1952 Summer Olympics, at the Olympic Trap. He holds dual American and Canadian citizenship.
He had his first major box office success with the 1997 comedy film George of the Jungle which was based on the animated series of the same title created by Jay Ward. His biggest commercial success came with the adventure fantasy film The Mummy (1999) and its sequel The Mummy Returns (2001).
Fraser alleged in 2018 that he was sexually assaulted by Philip Berk, the president of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, at a luncheon in the summer of 2003. The incident, his subsequent divorce, and the death of his mother, launched Fraser into a depression that, combined with his health issues and a backlash within the industry over speaking out against Berk, he believes caused his career to decline.
1991 – OutRage held a zap of the Church of England in response to a press release condemning homosexuality. If you are unfamiliar with the term, a zap was a raucous public demonstration, popularized by the early gay liberation group Gay Activists Alliance, designed to embarrass a public figure or celebrity while calling the attention of both gays and straights to issues of LGBT rights.
1994 – Died: Elizabeth Glaser (b.1947); major American HIV-AIDS activist and child advocate married to actor and director Paul Michael Glaser. She contracted HIV very early in the modern AIDS epidemic after receiving an HIV-contaminated blood transfusion in 1981 while giving birth. Like other HIV-infected mothers, Glaser unknowingly passed the virus to her infant daughter, Ariel, through breastfeeding. The Glasers' son, Jake, born in 1984, contracted HIV from his mother in utero Mourning the loss of her daughter and determined to save her surviving child, Jake, along with other HIV-positive children, Glaser co-founded the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation in 1988.

Last weeks poll ended with 16 votes, the winner (it was to be expected) was ZZ Top's 1983 "Eliminator" with 31,3%. It was a struggle for me aswell, but i ended up choosing "Afterburner" because it's the one that i keep going back to. It's must have something to do with that unique 80's sound...
youtube
The video for "Paranoid" was filmed in Belgium (1970), it was the first song i ever heard by Ozzy and Black Sabbath... i was hooked instantly! It's still my favorite Sabbath album to date, i mean... how can it not be with classics like "War Pigs", Paranoid", "Planet Caravan", "Iron Man" and "Fairies Wear Boots"?
youtube
Considered by many to be the first heavy metal band, Black Sabbath was formed in 1968 by Tony Iommi, Ozzy Osbourne, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward in Birmingham, UK. The band's original name was the Polka Tulk Blues Band (later shortened to Polka Tulk) and later on changed to Earth before becoming Black Sabbath inspired by an Italian horror movie of the same name. The original line-up lasted until 1979, after which Osbourne was fired and replaced by Ronnie James Dio. The line-up changes would continue, with no line-up remaining intact for consecutive studio releases. Throughout the changes, only Tony Iommi and keyboardist Geoff Nicholls, who also joined the band in 1979, would remain with Black Sabbath, although Nicholls would not always be credited as a full member. In 1997, Iommi, Butler, Ward, and Osbourne reunited, touring and releasing a live album in 1998, although a long-rumored studio release did not appear (the group attempted to record a new album in 2001 with producer Rick Rubin but the sessions were scrapped). After that, the group periodically reunited to tour with Ozzy's "Ozzfest" tour. In 2004, longtime keyboardist Geoff Nicholls was replaced by Adam Wakeman for an Ozzfest tour. No reason was given for the replacement. In 2006, the original line-up was inducted into the Rock 'n' Roll Hall Of Fame.
youtube
In 2007, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, Ronnie James Dio, and drummer Vinny Appice (who were featured on 1981's "Mob Rules" and 1992's "Dehumanizer") announced that they would tour together as Heaven & Hell (with Iommi, who owns the Black Sabbath name, deciding to keep the Black Sabbath name solely for the original line-up in light of their Rock 'n' Roll HOF induction) to support a Dio-era greatest hits release, which also featured 3 new Dio/Iommi compositions. A brand new live album was released under the Heaven & Hell name that same year, followed by a studio album in 2009.
youtube
In 2009, Osbourne sued Iommi over control of the Black Sabbath name. The lawsuit was settled the following year. In late 2011, it was announced that the original line-up would be recording and touring. Shortly, afterward, Bill Ward dropped out, stating he had been given a contract that was "unsignable". The three remaining members opted to continue without him. In 2013, the band released "13", their first studio album with Osbourne in 34 years. The band played their final live show in Birmingham, UK, on February 4, 2017. Although the band has announced that full-scale touring is done, Tony Iommi has stated that the door is still open for future music and possible live appearances.

He wasn’t very close with his father, who was usually absorbed in his work at the Ministry
His best subject was DADA
He was absolute rubbish at History of Magic and Marlene and Kingsley had to basically teach him the entire class because he doze off so frequently
Not a Prefect but was head boy
Met Alice on the train in his second year and became fast friends. They started dating in his fifth year, her sixth.
Kingsley Shacklebolt
1969 - 1976
Gryffindor
Wasn't a big fan of Quidditch. He went to all of the games because Frank would have murdered him if he hadn’t, but he always brought a book with him
Was very close with his father. Contrary to Frank, he was closer to his dad because of his work. The time they spent together felt more important because he was at work so often.
He was absolutely devastated when his father was killed in action in his fifth year. He walked around as a shell of himself for the next couple of weeks.
Prefect
His best subject was DADA later on. He was really good at History of Magic in year 1-3 but he became a lot more interested in DADA later on.
Dorcas Meadowes
1969 - 1976
Slytherin
Halfblood
Her first friend at Hogwarts was Marlene. They met on the train in their first year when she had caught her crying after leaving her aunt and uncle behind at the station.
They were academic rivals for a period of time (end of first year - end of fifth (?)
They started dating in sixth and stayed together until the end of their lives.
She proposed to Marlene in 1979 and they never legally got married, but they were fine with that. It was perfect for the two of them.
Her mother was a baker and so one of Marlene and her’s favorite pastimes were baking together because they were both really good at it.

Her best friends were Marlene and Barty later on. Pandora and her were close too.
Her best subjects were Charms and Potions.
Emmeline Vance
1969 - 1976

Pandora Lovegood (née Rosier)
1969 - 1976
Ravenclaw
Pureblood
Best friends with Marlene, Emmeline, and Regulus
She wore odd jewelry. Bottle-cap necklaces and strange earrings out of interesting things she found. Marlene buys her the most interesting Muggle earrings she can find whenever she goes shopping. Pandora once joked she had one for every day of the year.
Her mum died in front of her when she was seven. She freaked out the first time she saw the Thestrals until Marlene explained them to her.
She liked Quidditch, but never enough to play it. She preferred to watch.
She met Xeno in her second year, his third.
They started dating in her third, his fourth.
Regulus saw her as an older sister figure to him, though he would never admit it. Except Pandora knew. She had an amazing ability to do that.
Her best subjects were Charms and Divination. She was particularly good in Magical Creatures as well.
Marlene Meadowes (née McKinnon)
1969 - 1976
Ravenclaw (i will literally die on this hill)
Pureblood
Prefect and head girl
Was not close to her mother due to her strict behaviors and absence from her life. Her mother was insistent that Marlene was a disappointment to the family because of her being sorted in Ravenclaw. When she was younger, she would slap her after misdemeanors.
On the contrary, she was close to her father. He was the head of the DMLE until he was attacked on Christmas Eve of 1969 and resigned, instead becoming an Unspeakable.
Was originally engaged to Frank in an arranged marriage. When the Longbottom family pulled out of the marriage after they found out about Alice and Frank, the McKinnons were trying to find another husband for Marlene. That was the only reasons she was with her family in July, the day of her death.
She had two older brothers, Michael and Matthew.
Her full name was Marlene Mayra McKinnon. Mayra was her mother’s name, and she inherited it from her. She hated it.
Her best friends were James, Frank, Barty, Pandora, and Emmeline.
Her best subjects were History of Magic and Astrology. She was also remarkably good at Ancient Runes.
Mary Macdonald

This date in rock music history…
August 17th
2009 - Pink Floyd
A thief in New Zealand took the unusual step of leaving his contact details at the site of his crime. He was a regular customer at the shop and already had several records on order.
2008 - Jackson Browne
Jackson Browne was suing US Republican presidential candidate John McCain for using one of his songs without permission. Browne claimed the use of his song Running on Empty in an advert was an infringement of copyright and would lead people to conclude he endorses McCain. Browne was seeking more than $75,000 (£40,000) in damages.
1999 - Led Zeppelin
Led Zeppelin topped a chart of Britain's most bootlegged musicians, compiled by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI), after identifying 384 bootleg titles featuring Led Zeppelin performances. The bootleg chart was complied from the BPI's archive of some 10,000 recordings seized over the past 25 years. The Beatles came in second with 320 entries, other acts listed included The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan and Pink Floyd.
1979 - Anita Pallenberg
The New York Post reported that Anita Pallenberg (the wife of Keith Richards) was linked to a witches coven in South Salem, New York where Richards owned a house. A policeman claimed he was attacked by a flock of black-hooded, caped people and a local youth claimed he had been invited by Pallenburg to take part in ‘pot smoking sex orgies’. Locals also claimed they found ‘ritualistic stakes’ and small animals that had been ‘sacrificed’ near the house.
1974 - Eric Clapton
Eric Clapton started a four-week run at No.1 on the US album chart with 461 Ocean Boulevard, a No.3 hit in the UK. The house featured on the album cover is 461 Ocean Boulevard in the town of Golden Beach, Florida (near Miami) where Clapton lived while making the album.
1973 - Paul Williams
Former Temptations singer Paul Williams was found dead in his car, after shooting himself. He owed $80000 in taxes and his celebrity boutique business had failed.

Acts who appeared included Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, The Who, Jimi Hendrix, Ten Years After, John Sebastian, Sha Na Na, Joe Cocker, Country Joe and the Fish, The Band, Ten Years After, Johnny Winter and Paul Butterfield Blues Band. Over 186,000 tickets had been sold but on the first day, the flimsy fences and ticket barriers had come down. 🔬🌈 Exploring the Marvels of Fundamental Forces! 🔭💥
🔬🌈 Exploring the Marvels of Fundamental Forces! 🔭💥
-
🔥🌌 Hello, everyone! Today, we embark on an exhilarating journey into the world of fundamental forces that shape our universe. Let's dive deep into the fascinating forces that govern the cosmos: the Strong Force, the Weak Force, the Electromagnetic Force, and the Gravitational Force. 🌌🚀
-
🌟1️⃣ The Strong Force:
The Strong Force, also known as the Strong Nuclear Force, is one of the fundamental forces of nature. It binds atomic nuclei together, overcoming the electric repulsion between positively charged protons. 🧲🔒💪
-
💡 History:
In the early 20th century, physicists recognized that atoms were made up of smaller particles: protons and neutrons. However, they faced a conundrum since protons, all being positively charged, should repel each other and cause atomic nuclei to disintegrate. To explain this, in 1935, Hideki Yukawa proposed the theory of the Strong Force, which stated that particles called mesons acted as carriers of the force, mediating interactions between protons and neutrons. 🤝🔬
-
💥 Power:
The Strong Force is incredibly powerful, about 100 times stronger than the electromagnetic force. It acts over a very short range, only within the size of an atomic nucleus. This force is responsible for the stability of atomic nuclei, allowing stars to shine and elements to form. Without the Strong Force, our universe as we know it would not exist! 🌟🌍💫
-
💥🌈 #StrongForce #NuclearPower #NuclearPhysics
-
🌟2️⃣ The Weak Force:
The Weak Force, or Weak Nuclear Force, is another fundamental force of nature. It is responsible for certain forms of radioactive decay and plays a vital role in shaping the universe. ⚛️🌡️💔
-
💡 History:
In the mid-20th century, scientists discovered that certain subatomic particles decayed over time, emitting radiation. This led to the formulation of the theory of the Weak Force. In 1968, physicists Abdus Salam, Sheldon Glashow, and Steven Weinberg proposed the Electroweak Theory, unifying the Weak Force with the Electromagnetic Force. This breakthrough earned them the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1979. 🏆🌌🔭
-
💥 Power:
The Weak Force is the force responsible for processes such as beta decay, where a neutron transforms into a proton or vice versa, releasing an electron or a positron. It is weaker than both the Strong Force and the Electromagnetic Force, acting only over very short distances. The Weak Force played a significant role in the early moments of the universe, allowing particles to change and interact in unique ways. 🌠⏳⚡
-
💥🔬 #WeakForce #RadioactiveDecay #ParticlePhysics
-
🌟3️⃣ The Electromagnetic Force:
The Electromagnetic Force, one of the most familiar forces, governs the interactions between charged particles and the behavior of electric and magnetic fields. It plays a crucial role in everyday life. ⚡🧲🌍
-
💡 History:
The history of the Electromagnetic Force dates back to ancient times when humans observed the attractive properties of certain minerals like magnetite. In the 19th century, James Clerk Maxwell's groundbreaking work unified electricity and magnetism into a single theory, known as Maxwell's Equations. This laid the foundation for understanding the electromagnetic force. 💡🔦🧪
-
💥 Power:
The Electromagnetic Force is responsible for all electric and magnetic interactions, from the light we see to the electricity that powers our devices. It acts over infinite distances, making it the only fundamental force that does not diminish with distance. From the creation of lightning to the functioning of our nervous systems, the Electromagnetic Force is an integral part of our existence. 🌈💡🔌

-
🌟4️⃣ The Gravitational Force:
The Gravitational Force, perhaps the most familiar force of all, binds celestial bodies together and governs the motions of planets, stars, and galaxies. It shapes the vast cosmos we gaze upon. 🌠🌌🌏
-
💡 History:
The concept of gravity has been explored throughout human history, from the ancient Greek philosophers to the groundbreaking work of Sir Isaac Newton. However, it was Albert Einstein who revolutionized our understanding of gravity with his theory of General Relativity in 1915. This theory described gravity as the curvature of spacetime caused by massive objects. 🍎🌍⭐
-
💥 Power:
The Gravitational Force is responsible for the attraction between objects with mass. It acts over long distances, from the tiniest particles to the largest cosmic structures. It is this force that keeps us anchored to the Earth and holds galaxies together. Understanding gravity has been vital for space exploration and predicting the behavior of celestial bodies. 🚀🌌🌟
-

-
🌟 The Unified Hyperpower:
At the earliest moments of the universe, it is believed that all four fundamental forces—the Strong Force, the Weak Force, the Electromagnetic Force, and the Gravitational Force—were unified into a single force. This state is often referred to as a unified hyperpower or a grand unified theory (GUT). It suggests that these forces were indistinguishable and operated as a single unified force with immense energy. 💥🔆
-
🔍 Exploring the Connection:
Black holes, enigmatic cosmic entities born from the gravitational collapse of massive stars, hold a mysterious link to the unified hyperpower. At the heart of a black hole lies a singularity, a point of infinite density and gravitational pull. According to some theoretical models, the singularity could be described as a region where the unified hyperpower is concentrated. 🌌⚫
-
🌠 The Singularity's Secrets:
While our understanding of black holes is still developing, it is theorized that the singularity within a black hole possesses immense energy and an extraordinary concentration of mass. It is within this singularity that the fundamental forces might converge into the hypothetical unified hyperpower, operating under extreme conditions beyond our current comprehension. This connection between the unified hyperpower and the singularity holds great intrigue for physicists and cosmologists. 🌟🔭
-
🔦 Unveiling the Mysteries:
Exploring the nature of black holes and the potential presence of the unified hyperpower within their singularities is a subject of active scientific research. The quest to unify all fundamental forces into a single theory, often referred to as the Theory of Everything, aims to unlock the secrets of the early universe and the forces that govern it. By studying black holes and their enigmatic centers, scientists hope to gain insights into the unified hyperpower and further our understanding of the cosmos. 🚀🌌

McDonald’s Day
McDonald’s Day takes place on the anniversary of the day in 1955 when Ray Kroc opened a McDonald’s in Des Plaines, Illinois. This was the first restaurant of his franchise, but the ninth McDonald’s restaurant overall. Kroc helped make McDonald’s the most known fast food restaurant in the world, but the story doesn’t start with him.
Brothers Richard and Maurice McDonald opened a barbeque restaurant in 1940 in San Bernardino, California. In 1948, they changed up their restaurant and introduced the “Speedee Service System.” Instead of having waiters bring food to tables, their restaurant had self-service counters. They used an assembly line format in the kitchen. Prepared food was wrapped and placed under heat lamps. They also simplified their menu to include only hamburgers, cheeseburgers, french fries, potato chips, sodas, milkshakes, and apple pies. All of these changes helped make food preparation and service quick and efficient, and kept their prices lower than competing diners. They sold their hamburgers for just 15 cents apiece.
Ray Kroc was a salesman who had sold malt and shake mixers to the McDonald brothers. He stopped at one of their locations in 1954 and convinced them to let him open a franchise for them, which he did on today’s date in 1955. At that time, Richard and Maurice McDonald claimed they had already served 15 million hamburgers over the previous seven years. In 1961, Kroc bought out of the McDonald brothers for 2.7 million dollars. By 1970 there were 1,000 McDonald’s restaurants, and by 1988 there were 10,000. By 2017 there were more than 37,000.
Over the years, McDonald’s has expanded to other countries, while also expanding their menu. They set up shop in Canada in 1967, and are now in over 120 countries. Their menu is often reflective of local tastes. For example, poutine is on the menu in Canada, and the McLobster sandwich is sometimes available in the New England area. Hamburgers and fries have remained a staple at McDonald’s, but there are many other foods that can be found at most McDonald’s as well. The Filet-O-Fish was created by a Cincinnati franchise owner in 1962 so that Catholic customers had something to eat during Lent. The Big Mac was created by a Pittsburgh franchise owner who wanted a sandwich geared for adults. He used ingredients that were already available at the restaurant. It debuted nationwide in 1968. The Egg McMuffin debuted in 1973, and Chicken McNuggets came out across the country in 1983.
Ronald McDonald has been the face of the restaurant since 1963, and for a time other characters of McDonaldland, such as Grimace and the Hamburglar, were part of the company’s marketing strategy as well. Happy Meals were introduced in 1979, in which a toy is included with a child’s meal. Yellow arches adorned the rooftops of early locations, but “M’s” started appearing outside of the restaurant in 1962, and have since been its most popular symbol.
McDonald’s has been criticized for its role in spreading obesity, although in recent years it began adding healthy items and getting rid of trans fats. It also discontinued its “supersized” portions offering. The company has also been criticized for paying its workers low wages. On the other hand, the company has been praised for its charitable work. The Ronald McDonald House was founded in 1974. It gives families of children in hospitals a place to stay. Today there are more than 360 Ronald McDonald Houses. The Ronald McDonald House Charities was founded in 1987 and has been involved in various charitable efforts that are focused on children.
How to Observe
Celebrate the day by eating at a McDonald’s! You could visit the spot where Ray Kroc opened his first McDonald’s in 1955. The restaurant was demolished in the 1980s and rebuilt as a museum. Sadly, the museum has since been demolished as well. There is a McDonald’s across the street you could eat at though! The first restaurant the McDonald’s brothers had, located in San Bernardino, has long since been closed. You could still visit the location, though, as there is a museum there, and part of the original McDonald’s sign remains. The oldest McDonald’s still in operation has been serving burgers since 1953 and can be visited in Downey, California. You could also watch Super Size Me, or The Founder, a biopic about Ray Kroc.
