Building a Unified Metrics Store: How to Improve Decision-Making and Organizational Agility
Introduction: In today’s data-driven world, organizations rely heavily on metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive decision making. As companies continue to expand and grow, the number of data sources and applications also increases, leading to a fragmented data landscape. As a result, it becomes challenging to gain a single source of truth for metrics, leading to inconsistent data…

Highlighting the importance of finance and business analytics in corporate finance
In today’s dynamic business world, relying on traditional methods for financial management is no longer sufficient. Finance departments are increasingly adopting finance and business analytics to make informed, data-driven decisions that propel corporate growth. This integration of analytics empowers finance teams to move beyond basic functions, such as managing cash flow and financial statements, toward strategic roles that shape the future of the company. The combination of analytics and financial consolidation software allows organizations to gain deeper insights into their financial health, driving informed decision-making, risk management, and long-term growth.
The Power of Business Analytics in Finance
Business analytics utilizes data and statistical models to analyze financial information, driving accuracy and enhancing operational efficiency. By implementing finance and business analytics, companies can:
Make data-driven decisions: Relying on real-time data rather than outdated reports, finance teams can make more accurate decisions regarding investments, spending, and resource allocation.
Improve financial forecasting: Analytics helps create precise cash flow forecasts and liquidity planning, reducing financial risks and ensuring businesses meet obligations effectively.
Track performance: Finance teams can monitor KPIs like profit margins and revenue growth in real-time, ensuring alignment with company goals and identifying areas of improvement.
Optimize cost management: Analytics reveals inefficiencies and provides insights on cutting unnecessary costs, boosting profitability.
Manage risks: By analyzing historical data and identifying patterns, businesses can anticipate risks and create strategies to mitigate potential challenges.
How Business Analytics Transforms Corporate Finance
The integration of finance and business analytics brings a more sophisticated approach to financial management, allowing companies to break down complex challenges and address them through actionable insights. This transformation enhances both daily operations and long-term strategies. By utilizing financial consolidation software, companies can simplify financial processes, ensuring accuracy and streamlining decision-making.
For example, finance professionals can now forecast future cash flow needs, determine high-return investments, and identify areas of wasteful spending more effectively. This data-driven approach also fosters collaboration across departments, leading to more cohesive financial strategies and greater organizational efficiency.
Case Study: Rapid Reporting and Enhanced Decision-Making
One company that embraced business analytics saw significant improvements in reporting and decision-making. By automating manual report generation, the company reduced the time needed to compile reports from weeks to minutes. This allowed finance teams to focus on strategic tasks, reducing stress and improving accuracy. Divisional leaders had immediate access to financial data, enhancing their ability to make quick, informed decisions.

Demed L’Her, CTO at DigitalRoute – Interview Series
New Post has been published on https://thedigitalinsider.com/demed-lher-cto-at-digitalroute-interview-series/
Demed L’Her, CTO at DigitalRoute – Interview Series
Demed L’Her serves as the CTO at DigitalRoute and is a software executive with a proven track record in enterprise software strategy. He combines a strong academic background with a pragmatic approach to leadership and technology.
DigitalRoute offers a portfolio designed specifically to convert raw usage data into billable items. The DigitalRoute Usage Engine™ enables companies to adopt usage-based business models. More than 400 companies use the platform for usage-based monetization, quote-to-cash automation, finance system consolidation, and telecom mediation. The platform helps businesses extract value from usage data to streamline their operations.
How does DigitalRoute leverage AI and machine learning to enhance the value derived from subscription usage data?
Analysing usage data is a prime opportunity to explore AI and machine learning for several reasons. Usage data sets are large, made up of lots of small incremental data points that only tend to make sense after aggregation. Core to our business is ensuring that usage data is well prepared for analysis, this makes it high quality and often quite diverse. Honestly, using traditional data analysis for usage data is like searching for a needle in a haystack.
Ultimately, usage data is very valuable. There is a clear connection between usage data and revenue as any usage could translate into a billing event. But this also means that any usage that is not processed leads to revenue leakage whereby a company provides a service that customers aren’t being billed for. Because of this challenge, we use machine learning to identify anomalies in usage patterns to identify revenue leakage. We can then predict problems that may arise at the end of the month billing cycle, the day sales outstanding (DSO), and forecast usage to help companies bill based on the future.
How has your diverse experience across different companies, including roles at Oracle and SAP, influenced your approach at DigitalRoute?
When I left TIBCO, a pioneer in messaging and integration, to join Oracle, the business was undergoing a shift from being a database company to becoming an application vendor through significant M&A moves. This was a very enlightening experience for me. I realised how little technology mattered in the purchase decision process. Business benefits and applications drove the technology choices, not the opposite.
That experience is something I have carried with me ever since, and it has been crucial in my journey at DigitalRoute. We strive to have the best technology on the market to process usage data, but we know that the technology is not what people buy. Business leaders buy business value. They buy ease of use; they buy peace of mind. Turning cutting-edge technology into these benefits is what drives us at DigitalRoute. We are committed to solving business problems.
You’ve also worked in many different countries. Is that at all useful in what you are currently doing at DigitalRoute?
Absolutely. DigitalRoute has nine offices around the world, and we have global customers. Over the past few years, we have heavily diversified our workforce to reflect the global nature of our customers and source the talent we need to grow. Today our engineering team is spread across three continents and includes dozens of nationalities. However, I have learned that you can’t just bring all these characters and their talents into one room and expect things to work smoothly. Businesses must blend skills, expectations, and ways of working. I’ve found that working across Asia, Europe and Silicon Valley has helped me with this.
What are the key strategies you have implemented to drive the transformation of DigitalRoute from a telco-specialist to a multi-vertical SaaS company?
The number one change to enable that pivot was within the product management team. Telco companies tend to be very large – and very demanding. Vendors selling to telecommunications companies have, in turn, become very flexible and reactive to these customers’ needs, and the products’ roadmaps are heavily tailored to solve ongoing projects’ needs. In contrast, the key to scale across multiple verticals is to look ahead, develop a product vision based on market trends and common painpoints – and pre-empt their needs. This might sound like semantics but in practice, it is a very difficult balancing exercise and one that requires a lot of discipline. You need to carve out the resources needed to deliver on the “common needs”. And until these functionalities are delivered there will be frictions and questioning of why we are spending resources on the vision vs the tactical needs. And then you deliver and you realise that your efforts are yielding far bigger dividends and benefits – for everyone!
What are the key trends you see in the subscription economy, particularly in terms of data usage and monetisation?
The flat-fee ‘all-you-can-eat’ subscription has been a great engine for growth. But it is also reaching its limits with it proving itself to be too blunt of an instrument. Consumers and businesses alike are suffering from ‘subscription fatigue’. This is because many services are offered as a subscription, no matter how little or how often it is being used. The result is that every single finance team is left with an agenda to reduce or consolidate these subscriptions.
Incorporating a usage component in pricing, either via usage-based pricing or via hybrid pricing, which involves a combination of flat-free subscriptions with a variable portion based on usage, is something that seems to resonate very well. That is with both customers and service providers as it tends to feel fairer as they don’t have to pay outrageous monthly subscriptions for things they barely use.
While the shift from simple subscriptions to usage monetisation seems obvious from a business perspective, there is a major technical hurdle. To monetise usage, you need to be able to accurately meter usage. Unfortunately, this is something most companies aren’t prepared for.
How do you think AI will shape the future of subscription-based services?
It seems that AI will speed up the transition that we encourage businesses to take at DigitalRoute. With AI, subscription companies can leverage their usage data more effectively. By analysing usage data quicker and more accurately, subscription businesses can then make more informed billing decisions. I do think it will enable more businesses to move towards either usage-based or hybrid billing models which are more transparent and conducive to business growth.
More importantly maybe, AI and more specifically the ability to interact with products through natural language, is helping us put our capabilities directly in the hands of finance teams. Finance teams can now formulate queries such as “What is the forecasted increase in usage of our service in the EMEA region for the rest of the fiscal year?” without having to go through intermediaries.
What innovative technologies are you integrating into DigitalRoute’s platform to stay ahead in the competitive market?
A common curse among engineering teams is what we call ‘the not invented here syndrome’. This is the tendency for engineers to think they can build something marginally better than what already exists. Ultimately, it’s not always possible and even if it was, it might not be worth the time to build and maintain. That’s why my team’s motto is not to reinvent the wheel, but if it exists, we use it. Our tech stack is constantly evolving, we leverage all the pre-built cloud services available to us and we regularly swap them for better ones. This keeps our tech stack fresh.
But more importantly it means we spend our development cycles where they matter, on differentiating features, unique to our goal of processing usage data. The latest technology we have added is AI including simple statistical models and more advanced large language models for machine learning, data analysis and language processing.
Can you share a success story where a client significantly improved their business outcomes using DigitalRoute’s solutions?
DigitalRoute played a crucial role in significantly improving Spectrum Reach’s business outcomes through the implementation of SAP Convergent Mediation by DigitalRoute. As part of a comprehensive SAP solution, our software addressed their challenges with manual invoicing across multiple regional accounts receivable systems.
By leveraging our combined solution, with partners, they were able to streamline their invoicing processes and offer flexible, customisable billing options. This transformation resulted in a unified accounts receivable platform that enhanced efficiency for both staff and customers. The implementation of SAP Convergent Mediation by DigitalRoute allowed them to process and track high volumes of media usage and transactional data, which in turn, supported more flexible customer billing operations.
Key outcomes included a 10% increase in billing process efficiencies, a 25% reduction in payment application time, and the ability to provide a single invoice per customer, regardless of spend type of location.
Ultimately, the result was that by using SAP Convergent Mediation by DigitalRoute, they not only enhanced their operational capabilities but also significantly improved their customer experience, setting the stage for continued growth in the competitive advertising landscape.
On LinkedIn, you mentioned that building teams is one of your passions. How do you foster innovation and ensure alignment with market demands within your engineering teams?
The basic recipe is always the same: One – find the right talents. Two – empower them and enable autonomy. Now, this is easy to say, but there’s always a bit of black magic involved when it comes to people and finding the “right” ones. One thing that is often overlooked is that “right talent” is an evolving concept depending on your company, your culture and your team’s maturity stage. The definition of the right person tomorrow is not the same as the right person today. Do you want to find someone who can evolve into that definition or consider shorter-time missions?
“Think about AI for instance. Just hiring a brilliant and impatient data scientist and dropping her in the middle of an established product team that has been together for 5 years is not exactly a recipe for success. You need to constantly devise and align the personal objectives of the candidate with the company objectives. Sometimes you even have to just disrupt everything and bootstrap a team out of nowhere – which is actually how we started with AI at DigitalRoute.
How do you see the role of DigitalRoute evolving in the next 5-10 years within the subscription economy and usage-based revenue management?
It seems that implementing a subscription model has been relatively easy for businesses. It was largely a pricing and packaging exercise. But subscription-based businesses are becoming increasingly aware of the requirement for usage data. However, before considering the opportunities that usage data presents, companies need to be able to accurately measure and report their customer’s usage. There are very few straightforward and dedicated solutions on the market. However, DigitalRoute has emerged as the leader in usage data management, a critical and must-have ingredient to successfully ride the next wave of the subscription economy: the usage economy.
Thank you for the great interview, readers who wish to learn more should visit DigitalRoute.

"This is unbelievable", you lament, hunched over your desk.
"How did the stocks plummet so much?"
"Miss. L/N, The stock market is a gamble." Mr. Kwon offers.
"I am aware of that Mr. Kwon. But the risks we took were calculated." You massage your temples, grumbling defensively under your breath.
The predicament at hand induced mixed emotions in you. On one hand, you were anxious. Anxious for the employees who have a family to fend for, the news headlines they'll be witnessing and the confrontation you'll need to have with the stakeholders.
On the other, less dominant hand, you felt uncannily relieved.
Ever since your company, Jubilee and Co, invested in the share market with you at the helm, you've been waiting for something to go awry.
Simply, because you couldn't fathom anything remotely auspicious happening under your leadership. Not because you didn't have faith in your capabilities. No.
It was because you've gotten the short end of the stick from life so often that you've grown accustomed to it.
And now that your trepidations have borne fruit, you feel the weight being lifted off your shoulders.
Gingerly clutching the cup of coffee perched on your table, you take a sip. This was not the time to wallow in self pity.
"Mr. Kwon, prepare an excel sheet that has all the consolidated data of the company's capital. We can't afford any delays. I have to begin looking for plausible shareholders."
You could feel the soreness kicking in, as you knead the knots in your shoulder.
It was gonna be a long day.
..............................................................................................................................
You peer at your phone's self camera for the umpteenth time.
Huffing, as you rake your fingers through your hair. Everything about your outfit seemed off but scrounging for a better one would take an eternity. You were living on borrowed time as it is.
"Miss. Y/N L/N, Mr. Jeon is ready for you."
You stand upright, hands clenching the portfolio in your hand futilely, your heels scuffing across the floor of the hallway.
Navigating through the huge corridor, you spot the door of the room where the incumbent CEO sits.
Knocking lightly, you speak "Mr Jeon?"
"Come in."
His husky voice beckons.
Drawing in a shaky breath, you step into the room.
And as soon as you do, you're rendered awestruck by the cabin.
It has expansive floor-to-ceiling windows that offer a panoramic view of the bustling city below.
The golden hour sunlight streaming in through the blinds.
The walls, adorned with exquisite golden motifs, which no doubt must have cost a fortune.
Fitting for a billionaire like him, you suppose.
Right in the center of the room is a rich mahogany desk, cluttered with documents.
Perched behind the desk is Jeon Jeongguk, the formidable CEO of Jeon Enterprises. It is renowned globally as the only firm which deals with technological ergonomics. Their unparalleled success transcended borders, setting the standard worldwide.
Needless to say, Jubilee and Co was a far cry from Jeon Enterprises.
You've read enough tabloids about the cold, formidable CEO to know what might transpire.
On behalf of your company's stakeholder, you'll ask him for help. He'll eye you incredulously, disdain marring his face before he politely calls the security guard to escort this deranged woman out.
You're taking a leap of faith coming here and hoping a tech tycoon like him even spares you a glance.
You hear him take a sharp intake of breath, prompting you to look at him.
His mouth was slightly agape, eyes widened, as he stared at you from across the room.
His gaze trailed your dainty form from top to bottom, eyes darkening the more they consume you.
You shudder.
You should have taken time to look for a more flattering outfit. Or maybe your hair was dishevelled?
Clearing your throat, you politely ask him, "May I take a seat, Mr Jeon?"
Caught off guard, Mr. Jeon suddenly stands up before motioning for you to sit.
"Please do, Miss...?"
"Y/N L/N." , you supply.
"Y/N..." His dulcet voice repeats your name, as though in a trance.
There was an eerie tension in the room but you would be damned if you let it get to you and lose this golden opportunity.
"As the chief operating officer, I'm here to represent Jubilee and Co."
This was it.
This was the part where you'll be catapulted out of the building by big and buff security men--
"How may I be of assistance to Jubilee and Co. today?"
You blanch.
Out of all outcomes you were expecting would ensue your introduction, this was the most unexpected one.
You were not prepared for this, how do you broach the proposal of an alliance now?
Quickly gathering yourself, you resume.
"We are honoured you have decided to give us the time of the day, Mr Jeon."
"Don't mention." His tone, though professional, betrayed a hint of eagerness.
"From what I presume, you're here to ask for an affiliation." He continues.
"Your stakeholders want Jubilee and Co to become a subsidiary under Jeon Enterprises."
You were tongue tied.
Mr. Jeon was an astute man. You'll give him that.
"Yes, sir. That is correct."
"And why, exactly, should I invest in a company that is, for a lack of better word, in shambles? Inundated with abysmal employees", He rejoinders.
You wince. No matter how true his word were, they were acerbic.
Jubilee was like a baby to you.
You've gone through hell to make it transition from a tier 3 brand name to a decently esteemed firm. You've spent countless sleepless nights looking after it, skipped meals to tend to it's wounds.
Chagrined, you speak before your brain can process your words.
"I understand your concerns, Mr. Jeon. But Jubilee is more than just its current state. It's a testament to resilience, to the countless hours of dedication and hard work put in by its employees, including myself."
Your gaze meets his, vulnerability shining in your eyes.
"Yes, we may have faced setbacks, but we've also overcome them. I believe that adversity often presents the greatest opportunities for growth. I understand your reservations, Mr. Jeon, but I urge you to consider the untapped potential within Jubilee. With the right investments and guidance, I firmly believe that it has the potential to rise from its current situation and flourish once again."
A hush falls over the room.
Jeongguk's gaze remained unwavering, fixed on your face throughout your entire tirade.
"Consider me convinced, Miss. Y/N."
"S-Sir?"
"I guarantee. Jubilee's stock will be restored, funds will be augmented, and brand reputation will be unrivalled. The employees that will henceforth be inducted will be recruited by my personal hiring team."
You can barely hear the rest of his sentence, already thrumming with excitement. Your mind plotting all the ways you can get back at the naysayers.
The resurgence of Jubilee is inevitable, now that you have Jeongguk on board.
"But, you must understand Y/N, there are no free lunches in this world."
And just like that all your dreams come crashing down.
"Pardon, sir?"
Mr. Jeon gracefully rises from his chair, closing the proximity between the both of you as he leans on the front of the desk, positioned directly in front of you.
"I'll accede to all your demands, but I want a fair trade."
Mr. Jeon's words hang in the air. You had hoped for a smooth negotiation, where was this coming from?
"What kind of fair trade are you suggesting, Mr. Jeon?"
A knowing smile tugs at the corner of his lips as he meets your gaze.
"I'll provide my expertise, my resources, to ensure Jubilee's revival," he begins.
"But in return, I ask for something beyond the confines of business."
There is a tacit silence enveloping the room.
The implication of his suggestion is glaringly blatant.
Situations like these were rife in the corporate world. Pleasure in exchange for business gains was not unheard of.
What was however, unheard of, was an employee of Jubilee engaging in such lewd dalliances.
While they were definitely slacking and inept when it comes to work and strategies, Jubilee has maintained a pristine image of possessing the most morally sound employees.
You are caught in a mire.
On one hand, you are disgruntled that he thought you were so shallow that you'll take him up on an offer as promiscuous as that.
But on the other hand, you are convinced this is your only shot at reviving Jubilee. Jungkook's assets and team marshalled together will undoubtedly take Jubilee to unprecedented heights.
"We have a deal, Mr. Jeon."
..............................................................................................................................
"Jeongguk, stop please! Not now, I have to get ready for a meeting."
"I don't renege on my promises, baby girl." He hums, biting your lower lip as his hands fondle your clothed chest.
"And I expect the same from you, yeah?"
The past few months have been very conducive for Jubilee.
As expected, with Jeongguk's acumen & assistance, the company is practically thriving, now in a league comparable to the unicorns.
And it had to be. You've traded yourself for its prosperity after all.
"Fuck", the expletive rolls off your tongue as a strangled moan.
His palms knead the flesh as he grinds his hips on your clothed pussy.
"You're so pretty, my baby. Got me wrapped around your little finger like a hormonal fucking teenager."
He grunts in your ear as one of his hands find purchase on your hip, the other smoothly lifting your pencil skirt to stroke your thigh.
"Kook, I c-can't"
He is terse as he pants, "Yes, you can. You will do everything I ask you to, am I clear?"
"Y-Yeah"
"Good girl" He dotes.
Unbuttoning your top and latching his tongue onto your now bare nipple.
"Stop teasing Kook, touch me already. I'm so fuckin' wet"
He grins as he resumes his ministrations on your inner thigh, cheekily peering up at you from where he is stationed, between your breasts.
"Someone's needy."
You huff exasperated, placing a hand on his as you halt him.
"Fine, I'll just ask Taehyung for help. He won't deny me anyways."
All air escapes you as you're suddenly jerked, your bare back meeting the wall with a thud.
You open your eyes at the sudden movement.
Jeongguk's laborious breath is laden with ire.
Eyes closed. Jaw clenched.
His previous playful beam, nowhere to be found.
He takes in a deep breath before opening his eyes.
They're the darkest you've ever seen them. Pupils enlarged to an extent that his eyes appear pitch black.
You fucked up.
His hand comes up as he lightly chokes you, not enough to hurt you but enough to cause a pool of wetness dripping down your thighs in its wake.
"Say shit like that one more time and see me burn that fucker alive."
"You have the fucking audacity to even think of another man, when yours is right in front of you? Don't you fucking forget who you belong to Y/N. You're fucking mine. Body, Heart and Soul. You've sworn your loyalty to me. You've surrendered yourself to me completely the day I agreed to buy that shitty company of yours."
Your panties are completely drenched at this point and you're unsure if its because you're turned on or petrified of how vexed he has become by the mere thought of you with another man, even though you had said it in jest.
Without any preamble, his fingers prod at your entrance as he sinks them in. Your walls embracing him like second skin.
"Even your tight little pussy isn't yours anymore. It belongs to Jeon Jungkook.”
He slaps your pussy immediately after, as though proving his point.
“And I don't fucking share, so you better pray to any deity you worship that I don't fucking catch you masturbating or so help me god."
He fingers you passionately. Not stopping even after you plead him to.
"T-Too sensitive, K-Kook."
Unbuckling his belt, He pulls out his penis. It stands tall, proud and red with pre cum oozing out of the tip.
You grab him for stability as he pushes the tip in, letting your walls adjust and clamp before he brutally picks up his pace.
"Tell me who you belong to." He bellows.
Too out of it, you fail to form a coherent response.
THWACK.
He slaps your ass hard.
Once. Twice. Too many times to count.
"I-I'm yours Koo, only yours." you manage to say, eager to cajole him.
"Damn right you are." He hums, seemingly placated with your answer. Picking up his pace, he spits in your mouth, meshing his tongue with yours, while his fingers play with your clit.
You feel the familiar warmth below your cervix, as you groan,
"C-Cumming"
He gently pats your hair, kissing your earlobe.
"Let go, baby."
As you ride off your high, too blissful to pay attention to your surroundings, you don't notice the way Jeongguk's gaze darkens.

how to improve memory retention in lectures?
improving memory retention during lectures involves a combination of preparation, active engagement, and effective review strategies. here are some detailed tips to help you retain more information:
prepare beforehand: review any assigned readings or materials before the lecture. this will give you a foundation to build on and make it easier to follow along.
active listening: stay engaged by asking questions, participating in discussions, and making connections to what you already know. this helps reinforce the material and makes it more memorable.
take effective notes: use methods like the cornell note-taking system or mind mapping to organize your notes. focus on capturing key points and main ideas rather than writing down everything.
use mnemonic devices: create acronyms, rhymes, or visual images to help remember complex information. these memory aids can make it easier to recall details later.
chunking: break down information into smaller, manageable chunks. this makes it easier to process and remember large amounts of data.
review regularly: go over your notes soon after the lecture and periodically review them to reinforce your memory. spaced repetition is a powerful technique for long-term retention.
stay organized: keep your notes and study materials well-organized. this makes it easier to find and review information when you need it.
get enough sleep: adequate sleep is crucial for memory consolidation. make sure you’re getting enough rest to help your brain process and store information.
stay hydrated and eat well: proper nutrition and hydration can improve cognitive function and memory. make sure you’re eating a balanced diet and drinking plenty of water.
i hope this post was helpful! ❤️ nene

= PROJECT MOON LORE GUIDE =
(I've posted a guide like this on Steam, but I figure it couldn't hurt to put an updated version on Tumblr, too. Also, a warning: This post is going to be very, *very* long.)
Hello, current Project Moon fandom and future/want-to-be fans!
Do you enjoy Limbus Company but don't know how to get into the other games and media to appreciate the greater lore of the series? Do you not actually have the money, time, or patience to endure a brutally punishing (and sometimes even janky) roguelike management sim, deckbuilder, or gacha game because we live in a capitalistic hellworld like the one this very series criticizes? Struggle with getting access to supplementary materials due to controversies and language barriers?
(Pictured: PM Twitter and the Limbus Steam Forums, on any given day. Seriously, what is wrong with some of you people.)
And especially important: hate how Reddit and Steam are full of dudebro coomers who are openly hostile to F2P, non-day one players who might grapple with all the previous issues on top of being more invested in story than waifus?
Then read on under the cut!
= o = o = o = o = o = o =
This guide contains a comprehensive list of resources for you to be able to enjoy the Project Moon series to its fullest, including links to wikis, playlists, and more. Even if you can't play the games, I personally think those who can actually appreciate the series shouldn't be gatekept from the truly fantastic story and world that the games hold. Except Canto 6, we don't talk about Canto 6.
AND AN IMPORTANT REMINDER: THERE WILL BE SOME SPOILERS FOR CERTAIN PARTS OF THE SERIES, AND PLEASE ACKNOWLEDGE THE CONTENT WARNINGS BEFORE YOU GET INTO ANYTHING HERE! This is a very dark series that tackles and shows very heavy topics and content!
For those who can't read the text on the image, some of the common trigger warnings for this series includes:
Animal Cruelty
Drug Use
References to Alcohol and Tobacco
Injury and Dismemberment
Homicide and Suicide
Violence and Torture
Cannibalism
Kidnapping, Abduction, and Captivity
Psychosis
Diseases, Seizure, and Dyspnoea (aka shortness of breath)
Familial Homicide and Domestic Violence
Reference to Clowns (Coulrophobia)
Themes of Occultism and Spiritualism
Audiovisual Depictions of Gore
Uses of Sharp and Pointed Objects
Hospital and Medical References
References to Gaslighting and Bullying
Body Modification and/or Deformation
Flashing Lights (Photosensitivity)
Disorientation Induced by a Shaking Camera
Strong Language and Demeaning Words
Reference to Traffic Accidents
Uses of Guns and Instruments of Violence
Discriminatory Violence
Religious Torture and Violence
Enforced Ideology and/or Actions
War and Mass Conflict
Anyway, if all that didn't scare you off, on to the guide!
= o = o = o = o = o = o =
=WIKIS:
When in doubt, there's always the wikis for being references and useful sources, from gameplay to story elements!
>>Cogitopedia - A WIP wiki run by members of the community, working on adding in-depth content for all of the games and supplementary materials.
>>LobCorp Wiki - Has data on every abnormality, including inaccessible ones and cut ones (such as Price of Silence).
>>Library of Ruina Wiki - Has the lore from key pages, and also has cut content like the CGs from the original planned ending.
>>Limbus Wiki.gg - Has ID Uptie stories and info about Mirror Dungeon encounters. (DO NOT USE THE LIMBUS FANDOM WIKI, IT HAS BEEN ABANDONED/VANDALIZED.)
>>Library of Project Moon - A WIP fan blog whose purpose is to consolidate translations of the literary source novels and related works for Limbus Company and the PM games as a whole.

=LOBOTOMY CORPORATION:
Summary: Lobotomy Corporation is the first game in the series. It is a roguelike management sim where you play as "Manager X", tasked with handling employees and various monsters known as Abnormalities in order to generate daily quotas of a power source substance known as Enkephalin and a mysterious "Seed of Light" project. You are aided by an alleged team of AIs known as the Sephirot, and your very own personal assistant AI, Angela. It's often been likened to "anime SCP Foundation."
This is the game where everything begins, and without it, we wouldn't have the plot of Limbus (or anything else for that matter). This is where the Golden Boughs come from, this is where Abnormalities come from, this is even where Distortions come from - but we're getting ahead of ourselves on that front.
>>This playlist will allow you to watch all the cutscenes from the game, in order, for the canon ending.
>>This video also has the cutscenes, albeit not in order, HOWEVER, it does have the alternate, non-canon endings A and B (which are timestamped in the link for convenience).
youtube
>>WordsmithVids (also on YouTube) also has what is generally considered to be the most popular summary of the game.
youtube
(NOTE: Some people disagree with WordsmithVids and his interpretations of some of the characters as well as his content being "meme-y," so I advise you to watch at your own discretion and draw your own conclusions. That being said, if people have better recommendations, please send them to me instead of just complaining and bitching without offering solutions like that one guy on Steam did, thank you.)

=WONDERLAB:
Summary: Wonderlab was a webcomic by the artist MIMI/Whitezombies, originally posted on the Project Moon Postype account. It follows the adventures of several employees - often called "nuggets" in fan parlance - Catt, Taii, and Rose, in a Lobotomy Corporation branch facility as they go about their day to day activities.
This webcomic was taken down after the Summer 2023 Incel Controversy, when incels stormed the Project Moon office in Korea and made enough credible threats that the former Limbus CG artist known as Vellmori was fired, and it is currently part of a second conflict over copyright. However, primarily for archival and personal reference purposes, the comic has been saved and rehosted in several forms.
>>Internet Archive version. This has just the comic in an on-site readable format.
>>A backup archive on Google Drive. This features the individual pages, a downloadable .zip of the archive, and a readable Google Docs version.
For those who may have ethical concerns about downloading a webcomic that was pulled due to controversy (understandable), once again, >>WordsmithVids has a summary.
youtube
(NOTE: This is NOT the place to discuss either the Summer 2023 incel controversy *or* the current (Summer 2024) copyright conflict. There are far better places to do that with people who are far better informed on the topic than I am. This post is solely for providing references and archives of lore material to help guide people into this series. DO NOT attempt to bring up the controversies here, I will not be acknowledging them outside of mentioning why certain supplementary materials may have been pulled and have had to be mirrored. I am just an archivist, not a lawyer or discourser.)

=LIBRARY OF RUINA:
Summary: Library of Ruina takes place some months after the events of Lobotomy Corporation. A "Grade 9 Fixer" known as Roland finds his way into the mysterious, tower-like Library that has sprung up in place of the former main facility of L Corp, where he encounters Angela and the other Sephirot (all now Librarians). He begins assisting her in finding "the perfect book", which involves enticing people to come to the library through the sending out of curious invitations.
Now, unfortunately, there is not a playlist that splits up the cutscenes or puts them in order for Ruina.
>>These two videos have them all in compilation.
youtube
youtube
HOWEVER. A wonderful and dear friend of mine (@citroncynique <3) has allowed the guide they sent me to be reproduced/copied.
>>As such, there is a guide on how to watch the cutscenes in the order that makes the most sense, utilizing the timestamps of the previous two videos. It is not a perfect system, but it works at least.
>>WordsmithVids also has at least two summary vids out.
youtube
youtube
However, due to financial issues at last update, he has not been able to continue his summary of Ruina. I am including them regardless. >>As well as his Patreon in case people want to support him in hopes of making it easier for him to work on the vids again.
>>There is also an almost FOUR HOUR LONG video essay that delves into Angela's character specifically after the events of LobCorp and Ruina. It is not required viewing like the rest of the materials here, however, I think it still deserves a mention just for the amount of effort and care that went into it.
youtube

=DISTORTION DETECTIVE:
Summary: Taking place at roughly the same time as Library of Ruina, two Fixers known as Ezra and Moses and an N Corp. Taboo Hunter known as Vespa investigate the Distortion Phenomenon that is rapidly starting to spread across the City after the events of the previous games.
Originally released as a webnovel on Project Moon's Postype, Distortion Detective has 42 chapters and is technically incomplete/on hiatus. Project Moon, surprised at how popular the webnovel was, decided they wanted to potentially make an entire game based on the story. As of this writing, that has not happened (yet) but at least one character from the novel has appeared in Limbus Company, so there is still hope yet.
>>The DD series in its original form on Postype. This version was posted chapter-by-chapter, on Project Moon's Postype account and is (as of this writing, at least) still readable there.
>>A backup archive on Google Drive. This has the entire webnovel in a single document format (both Docs and downloadable PDF) featuring NishikujiC's official chapter illustrations up to Ch. 26, and includes the now-cut comic adaption of Ch. 19 by the artist Monggeu/koug99.
= o = o = o = o = o = o =
=LEVIATHAN:
(Lord, this one. Like it wasn't a big enough pain in the ass already.)
Summary: After the events of Library of Ruina, and operating as a direct prequel to Limbus Company, Leviathan follows the Color Fixer Vergilius (aka the Red Gaze) as he grapples with his own personal traumas and comes into conflict with the Ring Syndicate, before being recruited as a guide for the LCB.
Leviathan originally started as a webcomic by Monggeu/koug99. Health issues with the artist resulted in the comic being discontinued and turned into a webnovel, whose translation was never completed and had to later be finished by fans. The comic portion has since been taken down as of the Summer 2024 copyright conflict and controversy, much like Wonderlab was. Once again, however, this has been mirrored for archival and reference purposes.
>>Original source of Leviathan on Postype. Due to the copyright conflict and the translation hiatus, the only chapters available are Ch. 12-15. The link is still included for posterity reasons and just in case the copyright conflict results in the chapters being restored.
>>A backup archive on Google Drive. This link includes the comic chapters, as well as the SnakeskinFS English fan translations for the last five chapters that were never completed, all in PDF form.

=LIMBUS COMPANY:
Summary: After all the events of the previous games, a mysterious up and coming business known as Limbus Company has taken it upon themselves to send a group composed of 12 "Sinners" and their mysterious clock-headed Manager Dante to delve into the now-abandoned L Corp facilities in search of mysterious artifacts known as Golden Boughs.
Finally we come to the end of the shrubbery maze. Limbus Company is the latest chapter in the currently unfolding story of Project Moon and the City, a gacha game being used to fund other projects under the company umbrella.
Many people, once again, have ethical concerns about patronizing a gacha game. I for one agree with them, even as one of those patrons.
>>This playlist features all of the cutscenes for each part of the game story released so far (up to Intervallo 6.5-2/Murder on the WARP Express as of this writing).
>>There is also this site, which operates as a pure datamined text archive of all the story content.
>>And this site, which has all the in-game Observation logs as told by the Sinners, about the Abnormalities and enemies encountered in-game.

=BONUS/SUPPLEMENTARY:
This section, liable to be updated at any given time, is for links to materials or fan-creations that don't necessarily fit with the strictly canonical story materials found in the games and webnovels themselves but which otherwise provide useful resources or analysis. Note that the vast majority of material here is supplementary and not required, but recommended.
(Except the literary sources. You will read those, and that is a threat. I can't take another Wings-forsaken illiterate opinion on Canto 6, I'm going to start Distorting and biting people if YOU PEOPLE DON'T READ THE DAMN SOURCE NOVELS.)
YouTubers and Video Essayists:
Frey Chaqma - Frey has done lots of work for the PM community, such as spearheading the Absolute Pride Resonance charity event for Pride Month 2024 as well as discussing the lore of the games and the City as a whole.
Tsunul - Another YouTuber who discusses lore but who also often delves into more interpersonal matters relating to the fandom and controversies that can affect the game community as a whole.
Esgoo - Although Esgoo does not necessarily get into lore so much, they are often tauted as one of the biggest names in the fandom for, if nothing else, their meta-analysis and basic gameplay/strategy material, as well as their community involvement.
hydrojoy's essay on Benjamin - in addition to Angela, hydrojoy also did an in-depth analysis on Benjamin, aka B, aka Hokma, from Lobotomy Corporation and Library of Ruina and their impact on the story.
MetiNotTheBadGuy's PM Character Essays - Meti has done several excellent character breakdown videos on some of PM's most notable villains/characters, including Roland, Kromer, and Dongrang.

=ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS:
Citroncynique. For being a truly amazing artist, putting in the effort of making a watch guide for Ruina's cutscenes, and getting me into this series and ruining my life forever by jingling a bugman with PTSD in front of me (<3).
MIMI/Whitezombies, Monggeu/koug99, NishikujiC, and Vellmori. Although several of these artists have left PM and the community on bad terms, I still think their efforts should be appreciated and supported, now more than ever.
SnakeskinFS. For finishing Leviathan's English translation.
Folex, Bek, WordsmithVids, hydrojoy, and the Lobotomy Corporation Archive. For posting their cutscene and summary/analysis videos.
NeedsMoreDoge. The Steam user who provided the original guide and backup on how to read Leviathan that I myself utilized.
The less than pleasant members of the community who spurred me into making this guide in the first place, out of pure spite.
And of course, readers like you and those members of the community who make me so happy to be here and be a part of this fandom. Genuinely, thank you all, I have never felt as welcomed as I do in the Project Moon circles I run in.
In addition to the references included here, I recommend you get involved in your PM community as well! Join communities and Discords, support content creators on social sites, help contribute where it's needed and in whatever way you can! The best way to counteract the worst elements of any fandom is to be a guiding and helpful element in your own right.
Thank you all for reading, and I hope this guide helps you out!

For a long time now, it's been impossible to see comments or reblogs with comment/tags on posts over a certain age when using the mobile app or blog view. Today I was looking at a post from 2015 that I knew had at least one reblog comment and lots of tags, but all the reblogs were under "other". I found the comment (but couldn't see any tags) by going to the [blog name].tumblr.com/post/[###] link and scrolling through all the notes in one list, but it's impossible anywhere else.
I know this probably has to do with the many changes Tumblr has gone through in that time, but it's still really inconvenient to have disappearing notes on the platform where part of the charm is that posts can survive for, at this point, almost a decade and a half.
Is it even possible to fix this, and of so, is it something you would consider?
Answer: Hey there, @maplerosekisses!
It is possible to fix this, and we would like to fix it, but it’s a daunting problem at Tumblr’s scale. Buckle up for storytime.
Long, long ago, Tumblr was created, and in the beginning, there weren’t even notes on posts. There weren’t even reblogs or likes. In fact, we were one of the first platforms to introduce the heart icon and the concept of “likes”! We created the reblog! Back in those days, each of these actions were tracked separately. Likes were tracked in one database table and reblogs weren’t tracked at all as notes. When we introduced replies, those had yet another way of being tracked in our database. Totally separate entities on the platform for years.
Eventually, we wanted to consolidate these into one number—so we had to count each of those different places. That’s horribly inefficient, and as Tumblr grew in size and popularity, this became a bottleneck that hurt the whole platform. So one of the things we did was to invent a new denormalized database table called “notes,” to track all of these different things in one place so we could easily count them. We still have that table, and it’s still the fallback whenever we need to count the notes on a post.
But this itself is ancient history. Since then, the product has changed even more, and we removed replies and re-added them later, back in 2015 or so—and made some changes in that process to help further improve efficiency. These improvements allowed us to include media in the notes view, and be able to split out replies versus reblogs-with-comment versus likes (kind of going back to the way it was originally.) Even then, we didn’t yet support showing tag usage in the notes—that would come even later.
In the process of making all of these changes for efficiency and functionality, we had to ask ourselves, as you point out: should we try to backfill these new database tables with all of the data from before? For a long while, we were using both systems to power the notes view, so we could display as much information from “before” as we could. Eventually, we didn’t need to do that anymore, because the number of people scrolling back to that “before” time became infinitesimally small. And that's the situation we’re in today.
Because if we wanted to backfill the data, we would need to process literally tens of billions of posts and notes from before 2015, at a conservative estimate. Let’s say it’s 10,000,000,000, for the sake of argument: if we started an automated process to go through them at ~100 per second (which would be relatively safe at our scale, so Tumblr doesn’t break as we’re digging up these old rows in the database), it would take over three years of continuous operation to complete that task.
In situations like this, we have to ask ourselves if that’s worth it. So far, the answer we’ve determined is no. But we may find a more efficient way to do it, there’s undoubtedly a way, and when we do, we will re-evaluate the decision again. We hope that makes sense—trying to make changes to Tumblr can be really, really hard.
But thank you for your question. We appreciate them and hope that goes some way to answering your query. Keep 'em coming, y'all.

Any ideas to connect SU Diamonds and Worm Entities for a crossover?
For the past three years and change, I've been kicking around the idea of the Gempire as the residual result of an entity that botched its own cycle so badly that the central Zion-style figurehead holding the entire operation together is a hundred-thousand-year-gone memory. The result amounts to an entity with serious brain damage; The gems retain elements of the original programming for the cycle- namely, the ability to create anthromorphized avatars reflective of the local culture, and the drive to reproduce and consume planets to perpetuate themselves- but they've completely lost the plot on other important elements, namely the importance of hybridizing with local host species, their historical record, the full extent of their dimensional manipulation capabilities, best practices for resource extraction, and, most crucially, mutation, change and innovation as a desirable outcome.
Rather than an avatar, White Diamond is an intelligence analogous to a Endbringer or Titan who slid into the vacant role as the next-most-powerful autonomous portion of the network, holding the consolidated, stretched-thin remains of the original Network together by her fingernails while also deleteriously superimposing her own residual instinct from her original role onto the entire network- namely, to pacify, homogenize and sterilize host planets if and when a cycle is beginning to get out of control. This hybridized with residual data from previous host species that caused the gempire to organize in a fascimile of imperial structures encountered back when their cycle was still functional; essentially "Playing House" at the societal level, aping the culture of a host species without really remembering why.
The result of this is a "cycle" that's bad at everything it's supposed to do but effective enough that it limps on regardless- supremely energy inefficient, stripping planets bare rather than experimenting, and utterly developmentally stagnant. In the unlikely event that an entity were to cross paths with the Gempire, they'd have an uncanny-valley reaction to it and likely attempt to euthanize it, but compared to most entities the Gempire is tiny- while Shards canonically deploy in the hundreds of millions, the gems tend to reproduce only a few tens of thousands of themselves each time they claim a planet, and they usually only strip mine the handful of "active" worlds that would feature in a normal cycle rather than obliterating all dimensional iterations of it.
Yellow, Blue and eventually Pink are similar constructs to White, brought online to assist her in the project after the "imperial" territorial holdings grew too vast to micromanage. Unfortunately (for the cycle) another one of the things that got lost in translation were the controls meant to keep individual shards from developing autonomy or attachment-to-hosts. When the Gempire hit Earth, Pink Diamond and a significant contingent of the network, after patterning themselves after humans and spending a significant amount of time on the ground, pulled a fragile-one and went native, leading to a localized civil war that ended under unclear circumstances when the other the diamonds glassed the planet from orbit and pulled back their operations to prevent whatever affected the rebels from spreading.
All of this happened about 8000 years before the events of Worm, in a universe about 43 dimensions down the line from anything seen in the Earth Bet Cluster; due to the Gempire having mutated so much as to no longer be immediately recognizable as fellow Entities, and with so few active gems left on the planet in the aftermath of the rebellion, Zion ignored the crystal gems and folded them away into the inaccessible dimensional space, where the events of the show played out much as they did in SU canon. Ironically, Steven is the first ever example of this cycle successfully empowering a host, in the most roundabout way possible.
In my notes, and in keeping with the religious-theme-naming of the canon entities, I usually refer to this whole situation as Nirvana (what else would you call it when they break the cycle?)

But almost completely absent from the upfront festivities was Doctor Who, the iconic British sci-fi series that Disney+ now co-produces with the BBC following what was undoubtedly one of the biggest global TV show deals of the past decade. Doctor Who was handed a minor bit of real estate at the North Javits, but its lack of front-and-center placement may spin a yarn about the series’ position in the Disney priority log nearly three years on from the deal being struck.
Noises that it may not last beyond its initial two seasons are already reverberating around international TV circles, and one source close to the production tells us that they feel its future hangs in the balance already. Disney, the BBC, and co-producers BBC Studios and Bad Wolf all declined Deadline’s interview requests for this article.
“I thought it was a mixed bag,” says Tony Jordan, Society Co-ordinator of the 30,000-strong Doctor Who Appreciation Society, who says this feeling broadly reflects that of the mega fans he speaks with regularly. “When Russell’s return was announced I thought, ‘That’s fantastic’ but maybe I remembered the good stuff and chose to forget the not so good stuff. His track record of ending seasons with two parters has been widely varying in success, for example.”
When consolidated seven-day viewing figures were taken into account, the entire series averaged an audience down almost 1.5 million per episode compared to Whittaker’s last in 2021, according to Barb data supplied by overnights.tv, while it failed to light up Barb’s daily seven-day streaming rankings, which were at the time dominated by the likes of Baby Reindeer and Clarkson’s Farm, and evergreens such as EastEnders.
One of our sources close to the production believes Disney will “need to make a decision” on its future relationship with the show soon after The War Between the Land and the Sea wraps, and this could have a bearing on how long the in-demand Gatwa ... this source predicts the final episode has been left open-ended, with the possibility remaining that Gatwa could regenerate into his successor if he chooses to exit. Gatwa’s agents hadn’t responded to Deadline’s request for comment by press time.
take it with a grain of salt but not only is gatwa not sure if he wants to stay in the show, not only the ratings keep dropping down (i hate talking about them but maybe disney isn't), not only is disney now in doubt but the whole "lets bring back old showrunner old actors old writers etc etc and make a deal with a big mouse" is not a... good idea???
wow who (me) could've thought.
#forever grateful this show didn't end with chibnall so noone can blame him when it ends in 2 seasons#(or everyone still will but whatever)#it's not like disney bought the rights AFTER chibnall's seasons and considers dropping it after rtd#or wait it is#the budget is wrong tho i think it's less than 10m$#but still#anti rtd#mutuals you'll love this#doctor who
