I just wanted to share another baseless Dark hc, He's basically the king of youtube hell (or the void/shadow realm as I like calling it), so fancy demon man, yay (Him and Anti have a somewhat truce where he gets to claim the other half of youtube hell as his own territory)

it feels like a lot of people have given up on fully connecting ISWM/Engie Mark to the wider lore (aka WKM) since IRL Mark straight up told us he wasn't Actor.

but not only am i a stubborn son of a bitch, but yknow what Mark also said?

"Engineer Mark isn't Actor Mark, but Actor Mark just might be Engineer Mark."

so hear me out, y'all.

preamble; if you saw this in a yt comment section, no you didn't. (that was also me i didnt steal this i prommy-)

i have this entirely insane theory about iswm that Engineer Mark is actually Damien, but only sometimes.

the most obvious places i can spot him is in the abandoned ship with the candles ("captain needs their sleep" and whatnot), as Old Mark (specifically in the empty diner), and most definitely as the "Mark" we see as part of the finale, the one who realizes he was wrong.

Actor is allergic to admitting fault so I Don't Believe That's Him.

this explains the thematic focus on sleep and rest in these scenes, things told to Damien and told to US by DARK several times.

speaking of Dark, it explains why he isn't there. we DO however see the suspiciously Darkiplier-esqe Ms. Whitacre, which it isn't controversial to say atp is CLEARLY Celine.

that is, until the universe does its final kablooey and Dark as we know him, Damien attributes and all, comes to take the warp-crystal.

and besides, think about it.

given Actor's whole goal in all this, as laid out in the Damien Project, do you REALLY think he would write a story in which all problems arise from HIS OWN NEGLIGENCE? NO!

that would make him a villain, and all he ever wants is to be portrayed as the hero, literally for eternity!

but you know what i think he would do? set up a farce for the most troublesome of his "co-stars".

you, the viewer, want genuine choices? you want to have some real control over the story? some responsibility? FINE.

everyone looks to you, but under your leadership everything goes wrong, no matter what. you don't know why, but you're actively villinized and the harder you try to go back and fix things, achieve an "ending" on your own, the more people HATE you. the more the thought that maybe there IS something wrong with you specifically will stick in your mind as a possibility.

all these options, but none of them "right", creating MORE suffering instead of fixing it just to find that ever elusive end.

damien wants control of the narrative? he wants his old friend, you, the District Attorney to be released from his eternal story and given back to him? FINE.

here's his role back in earnest, given the possibility to engage and choose instead of intrude and twist like usual.

(yes, i do think Damien/Engineer is genuinely going down his own hopeless path while we find our own. in one of the descriptions leading to the final "Hold On/Let Go" confrontation, it says "you're not the only one making choices. you're not alone, you never were".)

he is allowed to fight for the safety of others, side by side with his closest companion, just as they did when they were alive.

BUT, the twist is Damien becomes a genuine villain. in his quest to do the altruistic thing and help at all cost, he is personally responsible for the death of LITERALLY EVERYONE EVER.

this is a personal hell for someone like Damien, as seen from WKM, all he ever seemed to want was help others and guide them towards peace.

for his actions/leadership to fail so unthinkably catastrophically, seems like the exact hell a bitter Actor would want to subject his "old friend" to for meddling. :/

Actor sets the stage for a theatrical punishment game. Mayor and Attorney, together again, taking an impossibly long stay in a personally crafted hell for the horrendous crime of ever even thinking they'd be worthy of ✨️staring roles✨️.

Actor turns you two against each other, and once Damien is brough down to the depths of despair and you have finally learned that true responsibility can lead to catastrophic, painful results, we're brought back to our proper places.

you go to a proper ending, with the Engineer role now being played by Actor once and for all, and Damien once again becomes part of Darkiplier, pocketing the warp-crystal to plant on the box in Heist.

Engineer isn't Actor, it's a role he plays when it suits him and his goals, to make his enemies suffer. he's willing to be Damien's understudy, if only for this purpose.

but at the end of the journey, Actor becomes Engineer to take in the fruits of his labor. ..and maybe invite you to a Heist while he's at it.

Illinois absolutely loves to be held by Dark, once he gets past his misgivings of getting close to others.

Ironically, the fact Dark isn’t quite human anymore is what helped Illinois to grow close to him. He can’t help his excitement that there’s so many cool things about Dark.

Dark can relate to Illinois. While the lives Dark led as Celine and Damien were quite different, the process of becoming Dark, of being Dark, has helped put into prospective for him as to why Illinois’ so guarded. The more they talk, the more and more Dark can hear just what Illinois is omitting in his words, and what his actions say.

Dark loves watching Illinois. It’s… soothing, how genuine this man truly is beneath everything. How when he smiles, rare as it is to be a smile instead of a smirk, it lights up the room. How he can watch just how thoughtful Illinois is in everything he does, and can see the progress he’s made with him in growing closer. Not to mention, in general, Illinois is entertaining in his antics, and easy on the eyes even when he’s not doing anything.

Dark helps Illinois is exploring himself, rather then just the world. Dark’s gender-fluid, and Illinois, as it turns out, is agender. He never truly cared about gender besides what was pushed by his family, and general society. By the time he was older he just paid it no mind, but didn’t explore his own likes either, too invested in his work.

My personal nonsensical headcanon abt Dark is that he owns a pet cat that's somehow like demonic by association bc like when he's Dark it's a blob of void but when he's Damien it's a tuxedo kitty. The kitty is technically named Damien Jr., but is addressed as Dames. Also, the cat mimicks whatever he does

Anyway, I'm here to beg ask if you have some soft Darkiplier headcanons for a starving simp? I have been craving soft Dark content for a long time, and I figure what better way to celebrate the end of the semester than with a request?💙

I'm sorry this has taken me this long to get to, I've been wracking my brain for what to put, having no further direction to play off of, and well… a lot of the soft stuff I have for Dark is also kinda angsty… 😅 and/or derives specifically from his time before WKM. But, I figure you probably won't mind either way, so. lol, I figured that was probably the case when I got that notification. And believe me, I've accidentally done that before. But hey! Congrats on two semesters down! 🎉

But anyways, here's what I've come up with as far as some random 'soft' HCs for Dark~

His favorite flower is honeysuckle, having an association of the flower with the DA, and he's always had plenty of honeysuckles - and roses - planted around his home, making him always smell ever-so-slightly of them.

His favorite color is actually pink - though black is a close second - and has been since long before the events of WKM. It's partially the reason why Wilford is all pink (the other reason being that pink is a derivative of red, which was Celine's favorite color… and Mark's).

He almost always wears black suits, only putting on white for particularly special occasions. Though he can easily be convinced to wear white more often.

Dating back to pre-WKM, he loves to bake - but hasn't been in an emotionally and mentally 'okay' mindset to even want to for a long time. But, once events occur to make him happy again, one would be hard-pressed not to find him baking often, or find the evidence of such in the plethora of pastries and sweets he's made, sitting out or put away in the fridge. And he's damn good at it. It's the best damn baking you will ever encounter. The happier he is, the more he bakes, and more often, too.

And on that token, he's got one hell of a sweet tooth - greater than Will's, in some aspects. He loves caramel and cinnamon and vanilla and cream, yes, but his absolute favorite is chocolate. And - so far as he's been able to find thus-far - his most favorite dessert is Devil's Food Cake, especially when the recipe uses coffee. (He's not as fond of more sour or bitter sweets, such as those that include berries, but he doesn't dislike them. Yes, I've had many thoughts about the WKM cast and what sweets they like lol)

His body temperature runs a lot colder than the average human's (a result of the events of WKM) and in moments where he's feeling playful, he will touch the back or side of your neck with his fingers just for the reaction to the sudden cold he'd get. Did I mention that he's a bit of a mischievous sort? Yeah. :) (He and the DA got up to quite a number of shenanigans back in their university days~)

I made a post about inhuman darkiplier so i decided to give you all my wilford hcs too— no offense but some of yall baby him that is a grown man who canonically is an adulterer and also shot a baby once lmfao

Wilford doesnt bend to reality— reality bends to him. Whenever nearby, people notice how much more colorful things are, more saturated and bright, and it feels like the music from parties follow them long after the show’s over.

Just like the bright lights, his personality is just as saturated— almost overstimulating. He’s almost as manipulative as Dark, but uses his talkative talents to get you to agree to whatever shenanigans he’s cooked up in his mind this time… or shushing a gun to make sure it won’t shoot. He’s very fond of guns, so they are too. They listen well.

Being in his general vicinity while partying gets you drunk by-proxy, dancing to the tunes far longer than you should be able to.

He’s a man with no past, constantly living in the present; his memory is spotty. When was the last time he asked Damien how Celine was doing? Weeks, or months? Or did he just ask an hour ago?

There’s no such thing as drinking to forget when there’s nothing to remember.

His gun is always on him, perfectly holstered somewhere unseen. Despite his general insanity, he seems to keep a level head, surprisingly not one for losing his temper very often.

But what happens when he does?

Although the colonel is long gone, his instincts from his time in war still show through— shouting commands and slamming his hands on things. He demands respect.

Still, his general demeanor remains relaxed, almost goofily charming. He’s made a name for himself; a famous interviewer. He’s got a nack for asking the right questions— although anyone answers truthfully with a gun in their face.

Death means nothing.

Markiplier Egos with an Asexual DA / Viewer

a/n: I decided to write this specifically as you coming out to them after you've already been dating for a while so it'd be different enough from the Aro hcs thing I already did. We cool with that? Alright.

WILFORD WARFSTACHE

Like I've already said, he doesn't care what your sexuality/gender is, he's immediately accepting of you and your identity.

That really doesn't change if you're dating.

Boundaries can take a lot of getting used to for him; he's a very physically affectionate kind of person.

He tries his best tho and always apologizes if he realizes he's touching you in a way that you've said makes you uncomfortable.

There's really not much else to it, things just continue as normal.

DARKIPLIER

Doesn't care. (supportive)

It really doesn't affect your relationship at all.

He doesn't usually like people touching him apart from specific circumstances with those he trusts, so boundaries aren't really an issue.

Again, not much left to say.

GOOGLEPLIER

He'd probably recite the definition of asexual except it's like the one for reproduction.

He's not being a dick for once though, he's just genuinely confused.

After explaining it to him, he finds the right definition and is kinda just like: "...Oh yeah, me too."

BINGIPLIER

"...Like a plant?"

Yeah, he doesn't get it at first either.

"Ooohhhhh! Same, brah. Same."

ACTOR

I can't not see him as a little aphobic before the events of wkm, but considering he's now lived for over like a hundred years or something, he outta be a little less ignorant now.

I mean, he might not fully get it at first still, but he'd try his best to for you.

He'd never force you into something you're uncomfortable with like that anyway. If you really don't wanna have sex, he's not gonna throw a hissy fit over it. (even tho that does feel like a very actor mark thing to do)

Just remember to assure him that it has nothing to do with him specifically or it's gonna make him insecure. He's a narcissist, the love of his life not finding him attractive is gonna make an impact.

Very respectful about your boundaries despite being a touchy kinda person. If you're not okay with certain kinds of touches, just let him know.

Overall, it might take a bit for him to adapt, but his effort is at least endearing.

YANCY

As previously mentioned, he'll most likely already be familiar with it due to his very inclusive friend group.

He's at least knowledgeable enough to know that asexuality is a spectrum, so he'd probably ask you to explain what flavor of it you happen to be.

Very supportive!

He's never really felt like he needs sex in a relationship anyway.

He's honestly just happy you gave him enough of a shot to wanna be friends let alone date him.

ILLINOIS

Honestly surprised at first, he had no idea that was even a thing.

He's totally okay with it of course! He just didn't know you could have a relationship where sex isn't like...mandatory.

Similarly relieved as I've described before when you explain it to him. It's a welcomed change to be sure.

He'll hold back on flirtatious comments if they make you uncomfortable.

Tries his best to respect your boundaries. He feels lonely if you don't cuddle him at night tho.

Sexual intimacy has become something he dreads with meaningful relationships. He likes getting to focus more of his time on you as a person, making sure you feel loved, and just treasuring your time together.

Overall really supportive.

HEAD ENGINEER

A little awkward around the topic of sex I imagine.

Mostly cus you're still the captain so power dynamics and all that.

You're already risking a lot just by being together romantically, that kind of workplace relationship could definitely get you both in some hot water. No matter how temptingly scandalous it can seem.

This was basically the stuff that first came to mind once you told him and he almost felt relieved because of it. I mean, that's certainly a headache you shouldn't have to risk dealing with now.

Outside of logistic nonsense, he's very supportive all around.

Like I've said, he can sometimes overcompensate when it comes to boundaries, so assurance helps if that's not something that bothers you.

He came up with this like dorky way of quantifying things where basically he says any energy he'd put into sex he instead puts into cuddling you twice as much and- just- yeah-

MURDOCK

Very calm and reassuring if he sees you were anxious while telling him.

Even if you weren't he's pretty chill about it.

Every action of his is typically very calculated no matter the situation, even if in more of a purposely sporadic kind of way. So needless to say, he's pretty good about boundaries.

I mean, if you're in the middle of making a quick get away and end up having to get uncomfortably close to hide or something, that can't really be helped, but yk. (he'd make it up to you later anyway, probably something dinner related)

hiiii mutual im gonna infodump about the timeline/watch order of the mark-cu for a minute cos im bored hope you dont mind

who killed markiplier is agreed to be before anything else. it takes place either around the 1920's or around 2017. 1920's because thats how they dress and act and its implied to be in the 1920's but theres also security cameras and a joke side video which is a news report that are all dated with 2017 but the 1920's are considered the cannon time by most people cos it makes sense.

then it gets kinda nebulous, most people seem to agree that a lot of individual skits/characters appear during the 2010's saving a few exceptions (notably wilford warfstache, darkiplier, and (actor) mark who are like the main 3).

i personally then skip to a date with markiplier around february 2017. there is a possible ending where actor mark breaks character and we go behind the scenes which i consider the 'cannon' ending. at some point after dark meets wilford/other egos and they form a small group to attempt to get revenge on actor mark for some spoiler stuff (idk if uve seen wkm yet).

after that is DAMIEN which takes place inside darkipliers mind or limbo or smth i have no clue which immediately goes into a bit before markiplier tv, which is a pitch from wilford to the other egos but it goes no where because it doesnt help the cause and everyone is too divided over it.

then theres wilford 'motherloving' warfstache which is its own like short video meant to expand wilford and another guy from wkm that might be a spoiler. im not sure where it takes place its at least 3 years after wkm but theres a lot of timeline fuckery wilford creates and youll see what i mean when u watch it. i also think the warfstache automated interview automaton takes place around this time maybe earlier

next in my version is a heist with markiplier. it doesnt have a proper ending all of em are simultaniously true because of the box (again youll see what i mean) and darkiplier (and also actor mark fucking around with the 'script' but thats going into hc territory i can yap about my headcannons later if you want me to)

then iswm takes place much later at least 20-30 years past 2040's~ but the womhole universe jumping shit means any given timeline could be in the past or the future so im not gonna get into that anyways you can watch anything in any order. wkm makes things make slightly more sense but some characters only show up in skits or on other channels so theres that.
