The book had so much potential but it felt like I was reading an entirely different plot and none of the previous plot holes were explained. Found an artist who made art of bagginshield and posted it on YouTube and on one of the videos the pinned comment was about how they literally had to delete a bunch of comments that were asking if or were insinuating Bilbo was a child and thorin was grooming him. Granted, their art wasn't the most detailed Michaelangelo you've ever seen, so you couldn't see Bilbo's age properly I guess, and I guess if you have absolutely no idea what The Hobbit is you would be worried, but jfc. Why is everyone infantilizing him. He is a grown ass hobbit who smokes mad pipe weed, grows prize winning tomatoes, and went on a badass adventure to claim back Erebor, got THE FUCKING RING OF POWER ON THE WAY, tricked fucking WOODLAND FARIES AND ORCS, AND won the heart of one of the most badass warriors of all time (Thorin) so. really annoying, that.

if bilbo wasn't a hobbit but instead a dwarf, man or elf, huge parts of his character would be taken way more seriously
