Having feelings about six again

Like, every one of the memory loss crew has to relive the worst news of their lives. But for most of them, they get that news secondhand: from someone who knew them, from the "internet", from five's memory diving, etc. Six relives the moment itself, even not knowing his whole past, while memory diving to help five.

And his news isn't necessarily "worse" trauma-wise, but its distinctly different. Everyone else's "worst news" is very personal. One, three, and arguably two and four all have the death or dying of people they care about (two also has her whole upbringing but thats a bit different). Theres obviously gonna be distress over finding out people you loved died or will die but. They dont know those people anymore. In an abstract sense they are upset about those deaths but they can't even miss the people they lost because they dont remember them.

But everyone six loved seems to be doing just fine (I mean anders is never exactly having a blast but hes physically alright). He lost his wife and kid but, at least at the only time we see them, they seem to be doing better without him.

Six's finding out about his past is just so different. Its finding out that you were responsible for an attack that killed thousands of people, and the fact you dont remember changes nothing about how much you care. You get to relive the moment you found this out and almost killed yourself over it. (Do you make the connection between this and your guilt? Your tendency for self-sacrifice?) Then you get to find out you didn't even treat your family well, and tormented yourself until they couldn't stand to be with you because you decided to go back to work for the people you trusted who betrayed you and made into a mass murderer.

Two, four (sorta), and three become people who care about others and want to help people. Six gets to find out he was acting against his own moral code for the past year(s) and cant remember why.

Griffin Jones had been an undercover agent for the GA for years, gaining intel and taking out the monsters that killed innocent humans. He took pride in his work, knowing he brought justice by bringing in monsters for their crimes. Until he found out that they wanted every monster brought in, even those that hadn’t hurt anyone. By then he’d gotten in too deep, hurt innocents on both sides of the human/monster conflict. That and the bleeding wound from his neck from his latest vampire hunt, made him chained to the GA as their double agent. But that was fine because the crew of the Raza only knew the vampire, not the hunter.

Just popping in to tell you how great your work for this (relatively) small fandom is. It must've taken so long to go through all those races make all those pointers and observations and compile a list thank you. If batsplat has no fans then I am no longer in this world etc etc

that's so sweet... honestly the compiling bit didn't take that long; this is all based on notes that have been sitting in a google doc for aeons (a lot of them were a product of the pandemic lol). it's nice to share them for a change, and I'm glad people have enjoyed the write-ups!

Oh, thanks doll...funnily enough I have had a darker, Modern AU crime mystery genre (think like, film noir esque) that centers around teenage Elizabeth in the wake of her mother's murder/death, her father being found guilty of the crime (was he, or was he not? he has a history of being arrested for like political corruption-adjacent stuff, but his lawyer always manages to secure his release and he's never been arrested pertaining to a violent crime before this), that's been on the backburner for a while. And another, not such a mystery, but in the wake of both of her parents' deaths, the Thomas Seymour thing unfolding in a modern context, and RD helping her get revenge (based on a plot in an episode/chapter of the time traveler's wife hbo series/novel).

Yeah, I don't know if I'll ever pick up above the stars again (I feel like I was the only that liked it), it's privated for a reason, i'll probably private all my fics, actually, once I finally get around to it. But I did love the concept for it, and have a lot of notes for the story, so I guess I'll never say never.
