I am very curious about this. Most info on imdb about how many episodes a character will appear in seem to be placeholders (either 18 or 1, even for characters where it wouldn’t make sense). But Josie is specifically listed for two episodes 1.1. and 1.9. so the pilot and the finale of Part 1.

This is new fuel to my theory that the leaked Bullseye scene is not in the pilot but in the finale.

It would make sense to Josie to appear in the first ep. If Nelson, Murdock and Page are (re-) introduced in the pilot, they’ll go to their fave bar of course. That doesn’t mean the shooting takes place then.

Them being back there in the finale of part 1, maybe to celebrate a (partial) success in whatever case they work on, would bring Josie back again.

Ooooh this is an interesting one.

Ok, so I have a feeling that in Netflix!Era DD, endgame was likely Karen, or that's the vibe I got based on S3, although Elektra was still a possibility. But the MCU entrance has obviously thrown that into the air and added a TON of possibilities, including some we haven't seen yet, and a few established comic characters that are showing up in Born Again like Heather Glenn and Kirsten McDuffie, so we have a TON of options here.

Required: these are all just guesses. I get ships are personal so if you ship one of the ones I'm guessing won't happen, just know I get it and I could be wrong (my favorite ship in the Netflix shows were Matt/Claire and my not-gonna-happen-but-fun-to-imagine Ship was Matt/Jessica, neither of which will happen in the MCU era, so I'm not going based on my own favorites).

Karen Page: I'm going to be honest, and this is just a guess: my intuition says their endgame won't be Karen. I don't have much to go on other than rumors that Karen may not be a permanent stick-around character, and those set photos of the Matt kiss scene with Heather, which means that even though Karen was around, Matt or Karen (or both) have seemingly moved on (Karen with Frank maybe?). So I don't think that's going to be the Matt romance endgame.

Jen Walters: I don't think it's going to be Jen, either. I get the feeling, as cute as I think they were, that that was meant to be a permanent thing and Disney's been pretty clear they won't be making another She-Hulk even if she makes some cameos elsewhere, which rules her out as a romance.

Heather Glenn: They've said he's going to be involved with Heather Glenn in Born Again this upcoming season, a new character to the show/this particular variation of Daredevil. She is an established character in the comics so it's not like this doesn't have backing, but I just don't feel like it'll have the impact Disney would want when looking at endgame. Supposedly now with the rewrites, they've leaned much more heavily into making it dark like the Netflix shows and following that general mythos, and that to me means they're likely to bring back:

Elektra Nachios: now this is our big wildcard since she's not confirmed, but she's where I'm leaning towards putting my money. She's insanely popular in the comics, she's well established, her relationship with Matt is a classic and a staple of Matt's various arcs, and Mattlektra might be an easy win for Dis after some lower ratings on their stuff. I've also read a few rumors that Elodie was spotted on the Born Again set, though whether that's for a cameo or not is unclear. Still, that makes it sound like she's going to be back. If I had to guess, it will be a, 'I would have been with you if you were here', and once she is back, that's where Matt's liable to head towards even if he's with someone else. Especially if our older Born Again Matt is just a little more jaded, a little more tired and lonely when it comes to love and what seems like his failures to keep Fisk behind bars - someone like Elektra who he feels understands him so well would be very hard for him to resist. And if his relationship with Heather Glenn is anything less than super solid in the coming season, Elektra's going to be able to get in there, and it would admittedly be interesting to see an older Elektra that's grown just like Matt has.

Matt stays solo: god I don't want this to be endgame because i want this man to have someone to love on him after a hard day, but this is entirely possible and in some ways, it would be a way for them to kinda easily dodge the ship question. I could absolutely see Matt trying to pull a tragic, 'my life is too dangerous for love' but I don't think this is where they'll go. They like the romance thing more, but maybe that's wishful thinking.

Other options: various comic characters are going to show up, and again, Kirsten's a possibility although I haven't seen any noise on her being a romance in Born Again, although if they have excellent chemistry that might be something they lean into down the line. As it stands though, I'm going to put my money on the writers bringing back Elektra for a Mattlektra tragic, fated love endgame.

I have this theory that Elektra made a appearance in Echo, and that scene will lead to a story that will be explore in Daredevil Born Again. But the scene was deleted.

So everything started when I saw the trailer "hurt" the one that is focuses in Fisk and Daredevil, and saw this shot.

Don't had a lot of characters that fit into that style, and of course the light can be one in the trailer, another in the show and other in real life, but in the moment I saw that, the first person that came in to my mind, was Elektra/Elodie, and yes the all white is strange come from her, but she wears white in the comics.

Basically my theory is, Elektra become a mercenary (after The Defenders) and eventually she started working for Fisk, the scene in Echo was a scene of them, maybe the started of that.

And then in DD Born Again we have the return of Bullseye, he will try to come back to Fisk, but Fisk will refuses him because of everything that happened in season 3 and because he had Elektra now. So Bullseye is gonna go after Karen, because killing her was the only task that him failed to complete, but even after his kills her as a way to prove to Fisk that he deserves come back, Fisk still not want him back, so Bullseye goes after Elektra because if she dies Fisk will have to bring him back.

But after all the changes that happened in DD I don't know...

EDIT: I don't think that was/is Elodie, is Eiza. The rumors in 2022 about her as Elektra was probably true. But maybe that scene has not appeared in Echo because she is not Elektra anymore

I have two theories. The first is one that @breckstonevailskier offered: that Heather is working for Fisk in some way and trying to somehow sabotage Matt's efforts to take him down.

The other theory I have is that the scene we saw being filmed is a flashback to during the Blip and Matt was dating Heather to fill the Karen-sized hole in his heart :D

I can handle some drama in the middle, but Karedevil has to be endgame. She is the only one who's ever been able to love and accept all of who Matt is (I know they're not dating at the end of s3, but you can tell the feeling is there). Even Charlie said she's "the love of his life."

Hi friend!! I’ve missed you.

Okay so. I am holding onto hope that:

1- The first half of the season (if that rumor of the first part being episode 1-9 are true) will be when the blip happened and during the blip, which would give the excuse and reason for Foggy and Karen NOT being there. It’s now seeming like Matt never got snapped away- which I would LOVE to see how they do that with his senses cuz that shit would be so so tragic in Matt’s pov having no idea what’s happening and nothing he can do to do stop it- so Matt doesn’t get snapped, but Karen and Foggy do- so their firm….is also gone. It would be too painful for Matt to continue that business without them.

Due to these reasons and pain and guilt and PAIN and Matt, because he’s Matt, will somehow blame himself for not helping in a battle he had no idea was happening and stopping it. He may go into a depression again, maybe this is where and when he meets Kirsten or something. But during the 5 years of the blip, he decides to work for/with another firm, or start a new one again.

2- Again if the rumor is true and the second part of the season is episodes 10-18, maybe that’s when End Game happens and everyone comes back. (I don’t think Born Again was even close to finising that first half of filming before the WGA Strike so reaaalllyyy, maybe there’s wiggle room here once selfish studios pay writers and actors what they deserve and more and filing starts again whenever that will be)

But my theory and some other fans theories, that the second part will be AFTER the Blip, and they can do a little time jump if they want or flashbacks or something idk. Let’s not forget in She-Hulk Matt actually looked and seemed happy, in a good place, at times lighthearted and having fun and THE SAME WITTY CHARMING ASS (i say fondly) HE IS (that didn’t change) with Jen and he even says “we” talking about his firm and Matt has always kinda been against bigger/giant law firms because most of the lawyers that work at those places tend to be more corrupt and not have the clients best interests at heart. Maybe if he joined a bigger firm during the blip there would be some conflict there.

And after, this would be A great reason and opportunity to bring back Foggy and Karen and could potentially start up their business again, or at least get Foggy to join the firm, OR they have a little branch under the bigger firm. The point is, they could use the second part of the season to bring back Nelson and Page.

And Matt’s words to Jen sounds more like he has Foggy back in his life and he’s still in a pretty good place. You don’t think Foggy would get an absolute kick out of Matt having a one night stand with She-Hulk!? He’s be so proud and cracking joke’s because “she literally spanked your ass twice” 😂 (Kevin if you’re reading this…)

3- After seeing Charlie Cox at two cons and meeting him twice, I firmly and 100% believe he has somewhat of a voice in some decisions for Born Again. The studio KNOWS this show or “reboot” or continuation wouldn’t be possible or the same without Charlie. Kevin knew that. And the reaction Charlie/Matt got in NHW PROVED how much the entire fandom loves him as Daredevil. So, I feel like his input and opinions are valued. Which makes me hopefully guess/theorize that Charlie has at least spoken to someone about bringing back Elden and Deborah. And I know Vincent really loved Deborah as Karen too, and I feel like he would also have a say because you just can’t change him as Fisk either. Same with Jon as the Punisher.

So again, I am holding out for being hopeful and not truly believing anything until it’s in the actual episodes I watch. It’s marvel, we have to remember that, they lie and gaslight fans all the time and try to convince the fans what’s not true and what is. So a twitter account from “sources” is a little harder to believe.

I have nothing against Deborah Ann-Woll or her as Karen because I actually loved Karen. But 99% of the heart in Daredevil was Foggy and his relationship with Matt. To not have AT LEAST Foggy be in the show at some point is utterly ridiculous. Matt’s not suddenly going to have a new best friend who truly gets and understands every single side of him and knows his past and martyr tendencies like Foggy. Matt isn’t just gonna straight up trust others and tell them he’s also Daredevil (Jen literally just ripped his mask off but he had no intention of telling her know)

And honestly, just as no one else but Charlie Cox could play and be Matt/Daredevil, no one else but Elden Henson can be and play Foggy. I just don’t think that amazing heart of Foggy’s can be the same without Elden.

hey there! so this is going to be one heck of a mess of a message because i’ve been meaning to tell you how much i’m enjoying embers and ashes but i just keep forgetting! and then things inevitably happen that remind me that i *want* to tell you how much i’m living for the story you’re writing, and yet i still fail to say anything. regardless, here we are - me, your devoted fan, ready to spew some adoration upon you

first off, i recently met someone named grey at work and i would be *lying* if i said my initial thought wasn’t of your story. i was like “greg? grey!” secondly, i was reading some tumblr theories about daredevil born again and about dex’s upcoming role in it. the particular theory i was reading mentioned the period of time dex would need to heal from his injury, and i literally thought to myself,“oh, nah he’d be fine because grey will come in and heal him.” scrolled a little farther only to *then* realize embers and ashes isn’t *technically* canon, so i guess what i’m saying is that your story is having a lasting effect on my long-standing interest in this show and these characters

ok so finally, i was wondering if you have a face claim for grey/reader. i know it’s technically a Matt x reader story, but i was curious if, when writing it, you actually envision someone or even if it’s just yourself! i just find it so interesting how authors see their own stories!

Yeah so I'm glad you brought up the Dex thing. I like to stay as canon as possible, and with his role in Born Again now, that... complicates things. I'm thinking I'm going to delay that part of the plot for as long as possible so I can scope out what his role is in the upcoming season — as much as I can, I want to stick to that. I'm thinking I'll just push some other plotlines forward in the meantime and keep him relatively on the back burner until we have a better idea of where his character is going to go.

Also, I don't have a face claim! I like to think that anyone, anywhere in the world who is reading Grey can envision themselves in that place. That's why I try to avoid bodily descriptions and even niche personality traits, because I hope that at least most readers can imagine themselves as her.

THAT BEING SAID, I do admittedly sort of write myself into the story — and then I try to blur that into a hobby-less, facial-feature-less version of myself that, in effect, becomes the generic Y/N. I try to think of how I would respond in each situation and end up going with that (though Reader is definitely probably funnier and also bolder in situations than me, lol most of the time I'd just be frozen in fear, unable to say anything if Daredevil approached me).

For example: the elevator scene in the last chapter. I tried to imagine how it would go down if I were in there. What would I say? How would I react to knowing Matt has super-hearing, especially when I also need to pee very badly at that moment?

In regards to specific personality traits (which wasn't even part of your question lol but now I'm rambling) I do try to keep Reader as relatable as possible, considering what I know about the average fan fiction reader:

They're probably a bit nerdy (I mean, who else spends their time reading or writing reader insert fan fic)?

They're probably a bit more reserved (not true for everyone, but again, I find that people who spend their time reading this type of thing have very rich inner worlds, are homebodies, etc)

BIOGRAPHY.

from the moment landon wallis took his first breath, he's been told he was lucky. born too early for comfort, they told his parents it was amazing he'd survived. this became foreshadowing for most of his childhood and adolescence, dubbing him with the name lucky.

he couldn't tell you if it was his way of standing out amongst the gaggle of siblings he fell into or maybe it was just to release all the pent up energy (which he later discovered was anxiety) he held beneath his skin.

countless times he had close calls with broken bones from daredevil acts, surfing in shark infested waters or during storms, a particularly bad car accident, and several bad falls from high up places he had no business climbing up to in the first place. by the time he was an adult, no one called him by any other name.

for the most part, lucky had a good life. sure, there were ups and downs but that's usual for everyone. he struggled in school, finding it hard to focus and read. despite his extroverted nature he often found himself to be awkward and anxious all the time in social situations.

eventually he was referred to a psychiatrist and diagnosed with attention deficit disorder, bipolar disorder, dyslexia, and got on medication to help. this has never been something lucky was ashamed of, even when people treated him differently. he knew what it was like before he knew and how much better things were after. It’s just another thing he counts himself as lucky to have caught early, before things got worse.

plus, he had daphne who never judged him too much and when his head got crazy, she told him stories that distracted him from it all. needless to say, even though his sister's head was often in the clouds, she managed to keep him grounded.

never being much of an academic, lucky chose to get his GED at seventeen and not go to college. instead, he started filming his daily antics or stunts, talking about his sister's theories and the stories she'd tell him, and broadcasting them online.

he'd always been rather good at video games, so he learned how to stream them online and how to edit those videos for people to watch later. eventually lucky made a name for himself and after launching a few horror game series he blew up almost overnight.

his outlandish and overanimated reactions, interesting stories daphne told him regurgatated in his own words, and general easygoing demeanor gave him a steady following where he never needed to get another job again.

these days, he has his own apartment (with a roommate), fixed with a very nice streaming equipment along with tons of games and consoles of all sorts. he posts content almost daily across platforms, sometimes recording early and scheduling them to get a few days off.

lucky no longer needs to edit his own videos, though he still does from time to time and has an assistant that helps him navigate through emails for sponsors and solicitors and schedule in things like events, competitions, and appearances.

he no longer takes medications, but still regularly sees a therapist - he now uses cannabis, cbd, and micro doses mushrooms to keep his mental health in check.

despite his anxious undertone that can sometimes make him awkward on first meeting, lucky is still very social and loves people. he is often out and about, sometimes filming, sometimes goofing around or hanging with friends. all in all, he's just out there being lucky.

when it comes to fans, lucky tries to give anyone them as much attention as he can and he does giveaways constantly to give back to his community.

I think this is important to remember and think about. Just because Elden Henson and Deborah Ann Woll aren't here yet doesn't mean they'll never be. This is a show that's going to be filming for the rest of the year, there's a rumor that the season'll be split in two with a little break between the two halves (again, just a rumor, could not be real).

There's also rumors that Elden Henson has already been on set and has already filmed at least a small scene. This is what Marvel has been doing rather well, hiding things. We might guess it, but there's a lot of times that we might be so damn sure something'll happen, but until it comes out- there'll be that little thought of how silly we'd all look if we were wrong (i.e. the cameos in No Way Home, and Matt being in She-Hulk before the trailer came out)

I posted about the blip idea when the photo first came out, however it's also been shown that the church he was in front of hasnt changed their sign SINCE March of 2020. And so an entity like Marvel, a little sign that's easy to fix in editing, or easy to hide in camera work isn't the biggest deal to them and it wouldn't be worth the hassle of asking the church to change the date of a sign that hasn't been touched in 3 years.

They also could have been happy to see the sign have the wrong year, since Endgame they've started hiding the years in their shows and movies (i.e. there was a happy new year sign in Hawkeye that set photos said 2024 but in the show it was blocked, and Aunt May's grave in No Way Home).

I think the blip would only be fun to show for a moment, to maybe give us an idea in a little scene that lets us know what's happened since we last saw Matt, to show us how everyone leaving sounded to him and his senses, to show us yet again how it sounded as everyone came back. It could be a fast 10 minute thing at the beginning of the show, something not too different from Yelena in Black Widow, but for us to see the other side, the side of someone who stayed.

But to assume so early into production what the show is going to be like isn't fair to the production team and the actors. Theories are one thing, but we don't need to be assuming that just because week one Elden and Deborah weren't on set that they won't in just a few months and maybe we don't know they were ever there, hidden away as Marvel has every right to do to keep up conversations and free exposure for their show.

TLDR; This show'll be filming for a long time, we can't assume anything yet. Marvel can be sneaky and can hide things from us. And remember everything is just theories right now and to not let a theory that could be proven wrong dictate your opinion on a show.

TLDR; Krysten Ritter is supposed to come back, don't know if she'll be back in Echo or in Daredevil Born Again

The actress for Vanessa was recasted because the original actress was unavailable. Same character, different actress. No need for conspiracy theories, she just moved on. It was a minor part in a show she thought ended three years ago, her being unavailable doesn't mean anything.

I know Deborah Woll has said that she wants to come back as Karen (this video from three months ago, I don't have the timestamp of this video) so I still think it's save to assume that if Karen and Foggy are going to be in Daredevil Born Again, they will be played by Henson/Woll and not be recasted. As a we all know, Matt said "We" run a practice in Hell's Kitchen in She-Hulk. We is more than Me. They would not include that line if Foggy just didn't exist in this timeline.

Another leaker said that the 18 episode of Daredevil will air in pods/6 episodes chucks. If this is true, I think it's possible that Karen/Foggy won't be in the first sections because Matt will be working with the Punisher/Echo/whoever in not-Hell's Kitchen. Then, Karen/Foggy and Matt will be reunited once Matt finishes whatever he's doing in Hell's Kitchen in the second pod.

I'm sorry I loved Sam I still do BUT if someone acts against my favorite character I will defend my favorite character and I guess I'm a little harsh on Sam right now but I can't help it. dean is the big brother, Dean always looked out for Sam. sam and dean they have different point of views. sam didnt even try to save dean from purgatory. and dean did everything for him. i knew when they argued dean would save sam every time but in the same situation sam wouldnt save dean. when sam said he didnt even tried to save dean from the purgatory i thought something happened. and i still cant believe he didnt even tried. and he had no reason not to. like dean didnt even died he was in purgatory with the monsters. why didnt he try to save him? and i know dean's choice was selfish yes he didnt wanted to be alone. dean had a duty of care since he was little and he'll always try to save his little brother. but sam idek. Even Bobby was disappointed. Yes Winchesters had a deal but they never listened to this deal until Sam broke it. idk im just sad that it came to this.

i love dean's bond to sam. Dean has never cared about anyone as much as he cares about Sam, and he probably never will. and it breaks my heart to see them like that. i have a bad feeling. i think dean will go out of control and kill some people or probably demons.

I think I was going to write more, but a few days passed and I forgot what to write. Actually, I was finishing a season in two days, but I wanted to slow down a little. because I was going very fast and if I went at this speed I would have to say goodbye to them in a very short time. But I don't want to say goodbye yet, so I'm trying to delay saying goodbye by watching other shows together. I love SPN so much, I love watching Dean, Cas and Sam and their adventures. But there are 5 seasons left and I don't want to say goodbye.

Crowley is still a little bit human. his sons reactions and interrogation were funny. what is cas doing? crowle is funny. I'm just starting to love him again but he ruins everything. and dean he enjoys using the blade i know he cant help it but still he enjoys violence. is abaddon really dead? i think so but i cant be sure.

Cas is getting good at lying. spears and aguilera!? dean doesnt trust cas and sam. and he is under the influence of the knife. "-why is 6 afraid of 7? i assume its becuse 7 is a prime number and prime numbers can be intimidating. -its becuse 7 8 9" I've been waiting for this to happen. dean scares me. I have no idea what he will do while under the influence of the knife. and that scares me. i knew he wouldnt leave the blade. gadreel is right. everyone makes mistakes. and again dean… i knew he would attack he shook his hand. If he wasn't going to attack, he probably wouldn't have shaken hands. he is out of control. He can't even control himself.

I started watching supernatural about a month ago. At first carry on didn't mean anything to me, but now I listen to it completely differently. I even made it my phone's ringtone. I get emotional when Carry On is played at the beginning of the episode. Dean, Sam, Cas and the others are my everything even though I have only known them for a month. It's like I've known them my whole life. I love them very much and I'm glad I started following their adventures. i love them so much. but especially dean, im sorry but i have to say it he is my everything i love him so much. i love sam and cas too and bobby but dean is different. haven't we seen this before? Or am I experiencing deja vu? metatron saving the woman. idk it feels so familiar. I love Cas' references. Metatron is really getting on my nerves. gadreel was a good angel. really cas did all of this for dean. i am not sad they won. yes dean is dead but i know he wont be dead for long so no problem i guess. sam IS trying to bring his brother back. he said he wouldnt but he is trying it is nice to see he tries. i knew we would see demon dean in the future because i saw spoilers about it. but i didnt think we would see now! well, at least he is not really dead. hope he'll be okay. things will never be great even good but at least i hope it wouldnt be bad.
