Alright, my Dragon Age Origins Unofficial Remaster mod has been dumbed-down and re-uploaded for anyone who wants it.

For anyone who asked! Please keep in mind that there are some cheat mods in here for when you just want to enjoy the story without worrying too much about gameplay but they can be unistalled any time for a more challenging playthrough.

So I can finally play dragon age origins and the rest on a computer and I've been look for mods but have had zero luck and honestly patience to wade through the mess that is nexus mods. I had hoped sorting through most endorsed would give me something actually good but uhhhh I forget most people are weird. Do you have any mods you recommend or ones that you think everyone must install?

Concept Art Surana Hair and Head

Inspired by this mod, I wanted to try my hand at creating the hairstyle shown in the concept artwork for Surana to match it. This is the result.

My brain can't handle incomplete lists, so I'm posting links to the other mods I have up on Nexus as well even though they're from like last year...

This one upgrades the vanilla Asala to endgame stats and the DA2 Might of the Sten model, so poor Sten doesn't need to sell his soul for a better sword anymore.

Optionally, also adds a new outfit and face texture, to match the red warpaint look of the Stens in DA2.

notes: This is my first hair mod that I have successfully completed (meaning not having my warden walking around with a missing/invisible scalp and hair)! Super excited to have finally learned how to properly use the Dragon Age Blender plugin. It was quite the learning curve but I am so thankful to all the modders that had put out tutorials - as they were quite honestly lifesavers lol. I would have been completely clueless without them.

by the way, since a lot of people are playing or replaying origins, I thought I'd share a mod I use for my female dwarf warden (it primarily resizes their absurdly long arms) :)

Update: v2.0

Removes restrictions on headmorphs in the Toolset: combine features, use features from all heads, put beards on all heads, and bypass feature snap in the CC. Restores unused sliders and makes hair selection easier.

New major features:

The ability to change some textures that were previously restricted to the head's MAO, meaning you can have a default on most heads but change to a different one on whichever you like (makeup/face and scalp skin tint masks, brow/stubble and crew cut masks, and scalp skin texture (with the ability to blend it with another scalp texture like we do with face complexions)).

Apply scalp tattoos!

(General) Raised tint filename length restriction from 10 characters to 128, because 10 characters was abysmal.

(General) Lots of model filters for anyone who makes/edits levels.

DA:O Tattoos Conversion

-27 different face tattoos and face paints ripped from BG3 by me

-2k tattoos (2048x2048)

-For use in DA Toolset or as a replacement in CC (see details below)

-I recommend using with Bright Tattoo Tints

INSTALLATION: TOOLSET

-Place contents of Toolset file in --> Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\packages\core\override <-- 

-Open Toolset, tattoos are located under 02. Part Selection\ 3. Tattoo \ 01. Tattoo Mask

If you don't want to use a replacement but want your tattoo to show up in CC if you're a Dalish elf then download this mod --> CHANGE YOUR HERO HAIR AND FACE ANYWHERE IN THE GAME <-- and replace your characters head at the first save point.

INSTALLATION: REPLACEMENT

So the way tattoos work in the game is that there are 4 tattoos contained within a file which can be broken down and the individual tattoos edited or replaced. Most modded tattoos only contain one tattoo within the file, but it still overrides the other 3 slots which is why you get the entire head tattoo and duplicates. With these tattoos however the other slots are still filled with the default tattoos so only one tattoo will be overridden, and the rest will look the same. Here’s a gif comparison in case I sucked at explaining it.

-Download the file that matches your Characters Race/Origins (Only replace ONE file at a time)

-Choose which tattoo you want and rename it to the corresponding code listed below that also matches your characters race/origin uh_pct_dc1_0t (Dwarf Commoner) uh_pct_dn1_0t (Dwarf Noble) uh_pct_h01_0t (Human Noble, Circle of Magi, City Elf) uh_tat_ed1_0t (Dalish Elf)

-Place in your --> Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\packages\core\override <-- folder

note: you can have up to 4 replacements at once they just cannot be from the same folder. So you can not have 2 Dwarf Noble replacements but you could have one dalish, one human, and one commoner at the same time for example.

okay I’m trying to learn to mod dao, and am currently following food then games tutorial, but I’m a bit lost very early on... so you’re supposed to go into bioware/dragonage/packages/core and within that create a folder and name it override... 

however there is already a folder named that in there? should I use that one or delete it and create a new one? or create a new one and like name it override2 or something??

So...this is my elven mage Warden, Selph. And it looks like her and Alistair are already getting crushes on one another. Buuuut they're also oblivious. Quit stealing glances and pretending you weren't then, you goobers ~hehe. 😏

Took some other screenshots as well. One from the Korcari Wilds, a few from The Joining (with Alistair looking quite concerned for the last remaining recruit), and lastly, some of my new Arcane Grey Warden armor at the Tower of Ishal. 😎

I remember fenagling with some mods a long time ago with this game, so I read up and decided to try it out again, thankfully not breaking things too much in the process--at least where it counts lol. I personally enjoy Alistair's look in DA:Inquisition (even if he's a little too pale in Inquisition imo), but this mod is like...everything. They even went through the trouble of making a younger skin for the 10 year gap between the games like good lord I'm in LOVE. Mods aren't "perfect" by any means, but modders are doing the gods' work among mortals, and this one is so, so good. It took a bit of reading and surgery to finalize compatibilities and such, as it does when utilizing several mods, but I got it to work!

Grey Wardens of Ferelden by NeoKingArthur on Nexusmods (for Alistair's, Duncan's, and the Warden's armor.)

Bidelles Cosmetics by Bidelle, Hairstyle Day by ShepSky, Vibrant Colors by PineappleTree, and FrecklesPlus by Rekicker are a few other mods I used for the creation of my Warden. All on Nexusmods.

Otherwise, I use a fair bit like Improved Atmosphere, DAO Fixpack, and Dragon Age Redesigned, and other small things for immersion and aesthetics. It's a long list. :T
