Did you finish the Trump sculpture? You are so talented! I hope you’re still sculpting.
Aaaawwww! Thank you, Anon! :)Yes, yes. It’s done and painted and all. The tie broke though. I should have made the tie out of actual cloth, I guess. I tried to fix it with hot glue, but that just made a mess.Â
Currently, I don’t have the right set of mind for sculpting tbh. Too much going on. And for sculpting I need to be able to relax. And that’s not really possible right now.The next thing is that it takes a lot of time to do something like this. At least for me, because I don’t have any sort of practice. “Rumpelstiltskin” here was a matter of a good 20 or more hours. From the first scribbles to the painted version. Not including the time needed for the clay to dry. So… it took literally days. And my desk was a mess during that time ;)And also, I don’t really know what to sculpt, or what to sculpt for. I’m a pragmatist. I need to do things for a reason. At least things that take this amount of time, you know. I will certainly keep on sculpting. One day I will :) But right now… “Just” doing it for myself is… hmmm… See… I’m not good enough for it to not become a chore. I am terribly over-critical of my own stuff. I don’t know if that makes sense. No matter what it is, it is super hard for me to not only see the flaws. And so I’m kind of trapped in that loop of: Why do I even do this? Especially when it takes so much time. But, yeah… thank you again :) I really appreciate your words-

A not so very stable genius.Â
This is my first attempt to sculpt a complete figure. With head and arms and legs and hands and everything. I learned a lot by doing this (took me about one whole season of “How I met your mother” and half a season of “Fargo”... the latter fit better, to be honest).
The three big things that I learned are: - Don’t screw people (with their feet to the ground) because it is a bad thing to do and also will make things more complicated. - Don’t sculpt separate parts but make one whole piece because separate parts make things very unstable. - Hot glue is your friend
Nevertheless, I am pretty happy with little D. For two reasons:
- I learned a lot (and I love learning) - It is a great addition to my “Hall of oddities” (my home office, which is full of oddities)
I will probably post photos of the painted version as well. Just need to buy some more orange.

”3D doodle”
Thought, I’ll try some sculpting with water based clay. After it’s dried up and hardened I’ll smooth it out, paint it and will post the results.Â

Everyone does speed paintings. So I wanted to try it as well. Usually, I use references. But due to copyright reasons, I cannot show the references of course. So I doodled out of my head. This 12-minute doodle is “compressed” to two minutes.
I used my Wacom graphics tablet and FireAlpaca (as usual)
