Joker is being held in Walker's prison for crimes against humanity, reality, and a bunch of other stuff.

Turns out it's really hard to keep this clown locked up.

"Sir," one of his men said as he floated into the room. "The Joker has escaped again."

Walker slammed a fist down on his desk in frustration. Humiliation still burned within him from the meeting with the King just now.

Being brought before a group of humans, the Justice League, in order to make his case and almost beg His Majesty to allow him to use heavier methods to keep that clown maniac within his prison—

It made him shake with rage just at the memory of it.

"That whelp—!" Walker hissed. "He's worthless as a King! If he doesn't have the mental fortitude to do what's necessary for peace and safety within this realm, then he should've left the throne to his sister! At least then, she knew how to handle matters like this! We can't keep that damn psychopath in our walls if we aren't allowed to use specific methods!"

'Of force,' went unsaid.

"Sir, be careful, that's lèse-majesté," another one of his men said worriedly. "Remember that Her Highness has decreed that if there are any offenses towards His Majesty, the law will not protect the person who insulted him."

Walker snarled. "If he wasn't so much more powerful than all of us, I would've lead a revolt by now and put his older siblings on the throne! The nerve to be kind to a criminal like the Joker! 'Treat him like a human as he deserves.' What idiocy! The boy is much too—"

Before he could spout more treasonous words, the door opened again.

"Sir! A letter from His Majesty!"

Walker frowned heavily and then took the letter. He opened it and then paused.

There was two pieces of paper within and as he read them, he suddenly laughed.

"Hah! Maybe I was wrong..."

"Sir? What's in the letter?"

Walker hummed. "A decent enough check to pay the cost for the containment of the Joker once more, and a letter from the King himself, telling us to do what we can to keep the Joker as long as it's kept out of the Bat's eyes. See for yourself."

And true to his words, the letter was from the Ghost King, short and efficient. There was a brief apology for his public humiliation, but he cited a need to make the League trust him, since Ghost Zone culture differed from mortal realm morals.

After the explanation, the rest of the letter could then be summarized as, "The Joker just needs to stay in jail. Do whatever you want but don't let Batman see."

Walker grinned broadly. "Maybe he is his sister's brother after all. Alright, boys! Let's go catch a certain clown and show him what happens when someone breaks the law!"

Cheers rang through the air.

The Joker would finally be learning the ghost way of how they punished evildoers.

Yeah, he’s a stereotypical southern warden guy but are you really one without a pack of tracking hounds for the job?

So, yeah, I’m giving Walker three dogs that turn into Cerberus and love him very much. Despite Walker retiring them after hiring Bullet, there are occasions where he does bring them out to catch the worst and most elusive prison escapees or criminals.

Phantom of the Manor

AKA "The Batfam unintentionally start giving ritual offerings to the Phantom. Danny, who's been mistaken as the Phantom of the Opera, is wondering why his hoodie pockets are full of tomato slices??" prompt idea!

Headcanon that Ghosts become more powerful the more people believe in them, kind of like deities. Danny's never really had to deal with the whole "ritualistic sacrifices to Bloody Mary" or "superstitious prayers against Davey Jones" because Phantom is a Hafta. Danny doesn't need people to believe in him or worship him.

So, he's never gotten a ritual offering before.

Which is why he's absolutely baffled when he shoves his hand into his hoodie pocket to grab his phone and feels something... squishy. And cold. Both Sam and Tucker scream as Danny jolts to his feet with a squeamish shriek. He damn near Goes Ghost as he tries to tear off his hoodie, regardless of the staring mall-walkers. Danny finally manages to fling the hoodie onto their table, scrambling to Sam and Tucker's sides, trying to breath through a panicked: "There'ssomethinginmypocket!!"

Sam carefully pokes around until she finds... squished tomato slices? They're oily and salted like a tomato caprese without the cheese. Which is an interesting choice for a snack. You'd think Danny would at least use a Ziplock bag or something?

("Ancients! Of course, I didn't put them there, Sam!")

Fast-forward a couple of weeks. Danny's going insane because why the hell are there tomatoes literally everywhere? Every couple of days (or hours, depending on the day), he finds different types of tomatoes all over the place. In bed when he wakes up. In his jean pockets at school. Even in the shower, he'll be blindly trying to find the shampoo bottle and come across a handful of grape tomatoes. He can't. Handle. It. Anymore. Danny's going to become the "Tomato Man" at school from how often he randomly pulls out tomatoes from his pockets. Like he needs another reason for Dash to mock him.

The last straw was when Danny was Full Ghost and felt something... itchy in his suit. He knew before he saw it. Danny tentatively pulled the sleeve of his suit open, silently praying that it wasn't what he thought it was, and- yeah. There's V-8 smeared from his goddamn elbow to wrist. He had to fight with tomato juice in his suit for several hours. And that's it; Danny literally can't take it anymore. He goes to Frostbite, begging the Yeti to help him with his Tomato Problem.

Only to be told he's receiving offerings. Which are apparently incredibly sacred and should be appreciated. (It'd be easier to appreciate if it was, like, cash or something. Maybe a Nintendo Switch. Instead, his patrons are worshipping him by offering... tomatoes. Great.)

So, clearly, the only option is to go straight to the source (i.e., his patrons) and tell them to Fucking Stop Giving Me Tomatoes. The next time he feels something weighty in his pocket (gross!), he follows the thready connection of his worshippers through a portal.

And Danny steps out in his full Ghost Regalia (because clearly they're worshipping Phantom, right? So Danny can't exactly show up in ripped jeans and his favorite NASA hoodie). The family sits at a dinner table... which is a little weird, since he'd expected an altar or something. But even weirder is the beady, predatory that look borderline-violent staring at him from everybody at the table. There's an uncomfortable silence more tense than dinners at Vlad's mansion.

Then, Danny carefully scoops out the soupy, baked grape tomatoes from his pocket and dumps them on the table. He doesn't wait for them to question it, just points to the tomatoes and says, "I appreciate the offerings, really, but it's gotta stop. It's gross. I have to wash tomato juice out of my clothes every day. If you're gonna leave an offering, no. More. Tomatoes. Please."

The oldest man seems jolted out of his stupor.

"Excuse me, but could you please explain why you've come to our home?" The man asks cordially. (As if Danny couldn't see him carefully gripping his steak knife like a throwing dart. And that's just rude, honestly. Danny was invited.)

"Uh, I'm Phantom? You literally give me offerings every day. Again, I appreciate it, I never thought I'd have diehard fans, but I don't even really like tomatoes. I mean, they're fine in salsa and stuff, but even I won't eat pocket-tomatoes."

"I believe there may be a misunderstanding. We don't worship a deity named Phantom nor have we left any offerings." The oldest says. He seems like he's about to continue when one of the black-haired adults interrupts him with a nervous, "Uh, B? About that..."

So. Yeah. It turns out Dick Grayson and Jason Todd forced the family to watch Phantom of the Opera, which spawned the joke of offering any food they don't like (i.e., tomatoes) to "the Phantom" (i.e., their trashcan). More than half the family doesn't like tomatoes and Alfred uses it as a punishment for breaking something, overworking, etc. They'd gotten pretty sneaky about scraping their leftovers into the bin but had gotten into a habit of saying "this one's for the Phantom, a treat for the Phantom," or something incredibly stupid like that.

Danny's just... a little relieved, honestly? Because he's literally fifteen and wouldn't really know what to do with followers if he had them. Plus, now he doesn't have to worry about waking up with tomatoes in his bed or making excuses for all his tomato-hoarding while at school. (Which was not necessarily the right thing to mention to Bruce "Serial Adopter" Wayne. Practically the whole table turned to stare at Bruce when Danny mentioned he's apparently an underage deity, waiting for Bruce to sweep in with a well-executed, "Well, it's getting late. Why don't you stay the night?" Because Bruce apparently can't help himself from collecting another black-haired, blue-eyed kid.)

Girl Out of Time

Being set in the 1980s, Girl Out of Time is a prime opportunity for me to pay respects to the media of the decade. Dani's antagonist, the Extractor, is an homage to Terminator. I'm very fond of this AU because it fits so well within the boundaries of canon that I don't have to leap through many hoops to make things work. It cleanly replaces D-Stabilized as a sequel to Kindred Spirits, and I consider it a thematic successor to The Ultimate Enemy. Where Danny travels to the future for a second chance, Dani travels to the past.

"Taking place during the The Roaring ‘20s, it stars Prince Daniel Masters, heir to the Water Kingdom of Dalv. After the events of the Great War, his father, the King Vlad has tried to preserve peace and alliance with the other nations. Unfortunately that’s interrupted by the aptly named Chaos Order who are on the search for the Seven Crystals that hold untold powers to those who utilize it. Along for the ride is Phantom, a mysterious denizen who wants Vlad for himself (whom he deems his “papa”) by creating a world of Nothingness. Naturally, Danny can’t have that. After all, if the world is destroyed, then how can he rule it?"

Ok so

There is this trope about ghosts not reaching maturity until they've been ghosts for several centuries

There is ALSO the trope that ghosts fight as a sort of way to communicate

With the power of these two tropes combined-- I give you this strange headcanon:

Ghosts become mature adult ghosts after 500 years.

Danny and his usual troublemakers are all in the same "daycare".

He's just the youngest + most unique ghost so they like playing around with him the most. In other words, it's the ghost version of older siblings ordering their younger siblings around

As far as ghosts go,

There are blobs, ghost animals, shades (those are ghosts as we know it) and ghosts (aka Infinite Realms Beings) etc etc

The blobs and etc are, well, blobs and etc

But ghosts need a while to fully grow up and be considered adult

And so, if these ghosts are children, they need guardians or caretakers at the daycare right?

Correct

Baby ghosts are under the care of the nearest authority (Ancient or Leader or etc etc)

Except baby ghosts usually stay near where they were born and Danny and Co just so happen to be near Pariah Dark

Pariah Dark is asleep

But Fright Knight is there!

Except Fright Knight is also sealed

And it's one thing to wake up the ultra powerful megalomaniac tyrant kinda parent figure but not really you're supposed to have and another to drag your oldest adult sibling out of their room to touch grass

In other words, the surrounding authorities just went eh the babies can contact fright Knight if anything happens

But then Danny defeats Pariah and inherits his authority

So he technically becomes the caretaker of baby ghosts in the area while being the youngest baby ghost himself

Hence the other ancients visiting and *playing* with him to see if it's ok to leave the babies with this other baby

And since they're ghosts who don't have human guidelines or morals, decide that since he's that strong it should be fine to leave it alone

Besides he has Fright Knight! Good 'ol Frighty will definitely help out this new baby kid ghost with doing everything!

Meanwhile, Fright Knight waiting for Danny to come claim the crown and ring: ...

Cue Danny's rogues coming up to him to show him shit they accomplished

Youngblood : Phantom look at this cool baking soda volcano that spews out real lava!!

Danny: It does WHAT

Youngblood: Look!

Danny: NO

Ember: Hey Babybop wanna listen to the new song I wrote? It compels humans to start cults based on my name!

Danny: Ember, no

Ember: I think you mean Ember YES

Skulker: Ghost boy I have skinned an alien and brought you a pelt turned into a coat

Danny: ...you did WHAt

Skulker: It is nearing winter time and one must always be ready for winter time

This is really a THUNDERBOLTS* spoilers filled post, with time out to celebrate the friendship of TOP GUN: MAVERICK costars and MCU newbies Lewis Pullman and Danny Ramirez (FALCON & WINTER SOLDIER and CAPTAIN AMERICA: BRAVE NEW WORLD).

Now on to THUNDERBOLTS*. Warning: SPOILERS ALL UP IN YOUR FACE!

-I don't know the reason why Steven Yeun dropped out of the role of Bob / Sentry / The Void, but this was a great opportunity for Lewis Pullman who I have been a fan of since BAD TIMES AT THE EL ROYALE.

He was not in the Amazon with her mom when she was researching spiders right before she died.

Funny enough, the BAD TIMES AT THE EL ROYALE director wanted Tom Holland (who had his own Bob-esque fcuk as bob in THE CROWDED ROOM) for the role that went to Pullman. Second best is good enough!

-I avoid trailers and try my hardest to avoid spoilers, but as I am terminally online I knew that a character dies very early in the film.

What a relief it was only Olga Kurylenko's Taskmaster!

And as the saying, "There's a lid for every pot" is a truism, there were fans of the character that were angry as they were misled in the trailers.

Mate, you were not there.

But her death works for me because at that moment each one was there with a kill order. They are all skilled mercenaries so why wouldn't they complete their - no pun intended - task? It's unrealistic to not lose one of them. And while yeah, it was quick and dirty, at least Yelena honoured her and was defended her. It's really more respect she got in BLACK WIDOW.

-I wasn't sure about the lineup because, outside of Yelena, John Walker didn't wow me in FALCON AND THE WINTER SOLDIER, Ghost was a non-entity to me in ANT-MAN AND THE WASP, didn't care about Taskmaster and Red Guardian is alright; but they were all utilized well and using these disgraced characters to highlight shame and depression and trauma was a good way to give them a redemptive arc.

-I'm glad I don't watch trailers until after I have seen a film because the trailer spoiled Bucky's Terminator / Ethan Hunt motorcycle moment. I was so happy for the disposal of politician Bucky

to badassery Bucky.

I initially thought Bucky was only being used because they needed a big established character in the film, but his inclusion makes so much sense in that Bucky is still dealing with his trauma of being brainwashed; he's just not ready confront that again.

So many hairstyles - almost all stringy and greasy looking.

What l Liked: The fake out of Geraldine Viswanathan's Mel trying to help Bucky. That duplicitous so-and-so. Just like the contessa!

What I Didn't Like: The Contessa. A little bit of that character goes far. Julia Louis-Dreyfus is still acting like she's on a sitcom.

What I Liked: Yelena being the heart of the film; just as in Black Widow. Her vulnerability has always been a part of her, not just something they drag out as needed. And even in her darkness she still had the desire to uplift and save Bob.

Who people are shipping now. I mean, I do get it. But, nah.

Yelena co-creators Devin Grayson and J.G Jones at the premiere with writer/inker Jimmy Palmiotti.

The people have spoken.

What I love about Grayson is that fan outrage follows them wherever they lands. Grayson has made statements in the past about Yelena being ace or aro-ace, which some people took as canon, but Grayson later clarified it's not canon; just their own headcanon; which then people got angry about because they felt Grayson was backing down due to fanboys.

As someone who watched the eventual DC Comics banishment of Grayson after a series of things that made fans meltdown, I say to Marvel fans...

-What I Didn't Like - Having "The Fantastic Four Theme" as one of the music credits spoiled the post-credit scene.

-What I Liked: Teamwork! Every joining in to save Bob from The Void smacked of "IT" where the kids join in to defeat Pennywise the Clown. But the film/tv version, not the book orgy version. Although, I would not have been made at them using that tactic to defeat The Void.

And great that they show that - to borrow a phrase from another character's story, "With great power comes great responsibility." Not just anyone needs to have power and Bob definitely did not need power because he was so easy to corrupt due to his hurt. I suspect he will eventually learn how to wield it in a way where he can keep The Void at bay.

Overall - fun; but definitely felt its three hours heading into the third act.

She was the most amazing and kindest woman you’d ever met. Created by @amityparkhalfa and I, this Walker’s wife, Rosalie. They met at their college’s debate club in which she gave the strongest counterpoint towards the cowboy’s argument on a topic regarding law enforcement or death penalty in the U.S. He’d would lose that debate, but Walker gained an immense admiration for her wit and tenacity ever since.
