Robin: I can handle him. He's probably just another foolish vigilante.

Signal: He's flying. I just saw him phase through a building. Pretty sure he's not a "foolish vigilante."

Oracle: I'm pulling satellite footage… okay, weird. He's fighting something. A… green blob?

Red Hood: Blob? Like Clayface's cousin?

Red Robin: Nope. That's ectoplasm. 100% ghost confirmed.

Danny: Uh, hi? Could you not stalk me? I'm just here for the blob.

Red Robin: … How did you get in this chat?

Jason's been pestering Danny about why he looks like a borderline walking corpse for ages and Danny has decided to put his lying skills to the test. (he has none)

I've been playing w the idea that the more Danny transforms, the more his ghost form gets "lively" while his human form gets weaker and more sickly. He knows that if he keeps transforming like this then, one day, he's not going to have a livable body to go back to, but he really doesn't want to think about all that. He's more interested in the weird "totally dead but not dead" Wayne son who may or may not have a thing for his sister.

everytime i do one these im like "this time I'll keep it simple so I don't have to suffer through colouring bc I have zero foresight—it'll be greyscale at most" and then all of the sudden its 4am and i'm trying to finish a stupid comic but i decided to add "some" colour to spice it up and hide my shitty ink job and then SOME COLOUR ALWAYS BECOMES FULL COLOUR WHY CAN I NOT ESCAPE THIS STUPID CYCLE!!

(did this all stem from me not being able to decide between a super pale character design and one w a vibrant tan bc I love white hair + tan but I also love extremely pale albino so I forced myself to find a way to make both work? never! that's absurd!)

Danny sat on a rooftop feeling confused. It was currently 3 days later than he last remembered. That was 3 DAYS with no memory of anything. He didn’t even know what city he was in. The only thing he is sure of is that it wasn’t mind control. His experience with Freakshow let him know that.

Along with this feeling more similar to the time his mom shoved high proof cleaning alcohol that was ectofied in his face during an excited rant. The fumes alone had him missing a few hours. Luckily Jazz was there and kept his blackout drunk self entertained.

So the question was, where the hell was he and what did he do?! Also, what caused him to blackout? Last he remembered he was in Metropolis and he got nearly hit in the head with a green glowing stone that he only vaguely could tell was somehow not ectoradium. After that? Nothing.

Aka: Kryptonite is highly compressed ectoplasm and causes Danny to get black out drunk just by being in its vicinity.

P.S. I also would love to see what chaos you think Danny would get up to lol

Thinkin about a DCxDP where Danny’s helping ghosts find peace while he’s laying low in Gotham.

Like, he moved away from Amity for whatever reason. Maybe the reveal went badly, maybe he just couldn’t stand staying any longer. For whatever reason, he’s in Gotham, because the rent is cheap and he’s nowhere near the strangest thing there so no one looks at him twice.

However, this city is cursed. Like, cursed beyond cursed. It’s actively alive with how many curses there are, and the ghosts there are extremely unhappy about it.

(Of course, that’s not a problem for Danny. His ghost side filters out the toxic smog and the chemicals in the water, and his human side gives a resistance to the rank ecto and the hexes that are actively trying to devour him.)

He doesn’t really want to do anything about it, to be honest.

He’s sick of playing hero, considering how it went last time, and he’s busy working at Waffle House or Walmart or whatever other store doesn’t bother doing a background check (in Gotham, that’s probably all of them), and maybe trying to find a way to get highschool credits that don’t immediately disqualify him from every college in existence.

Still, the ghosts know he can hear them. They know, and they keep coming for help.

So, hey, why not? He definitely can’t put this as experience in any sort of job application, but he really doesn’t have much else to do.

So, he becomes errand boy for a bunch of ghosts.

Sometimes he’s finding objects that are important to them, sometimes he’s giving evidence they collected together of their murders to the police, sometimes he’s getting them the last meal they never had, sometimes he’s just spending time with them like they’re not dead.

The ghosts don’t always move on, but they’re always more at peace. Occasionally they pay him back in charms and blessings and the locations of valuables that he can keep or pawn for cash.

Eventually, a new ghost shows up.

She looks like a shadow, like all the ghosts of Gotham, but she seems stronger than usual. She asks him for a favor that those who came before him were never able to fulfill.

She asks him to find her engagement ring, and give it to her son.

Easy enough, he thinks. It’s a bit of a pain to buy the ring from the seedy pawn shop it’s in (he would usually just steal it, but he doesn’t want to implicate her kid in anything, which she seems grateful for), but everything’s going mostly alright.

Then, she tells him who her son is, and wow, no wonder no one’s helped her yet.

He’s Red Hood. The guy who is(/was) the crime lord in charge of crime alley. The title sounds a bit stupid to Danny, but he’s still a genuine threat to a living person.

Good thing he’s not one of those.

And so, the next time he sees Red Hood out and about, he goes right up to him. The man seems mostly unbothered, but Danny does notice how his hand slightly drifts towards one of his many weapons.

He tells Red Hood outright that he’s there on behalf of the man’s mother, then just holds out his hand with the ring inside, dropping it into Red Hood’s open palm.

Then he leaves, not waiting for a response.

Jason has a mystery on his hands, and he might just cash in some favors from Babs and Tim to figure it out.

He’s got to find the guy who gave him his mother’s ring, and find out everything he knows.

Babysitting duty calls, Klarion

It another world threatening battle for the justice league, young justice against the league of Villains and chaos children before most of the chaos children froze as if they sense something bad was approaching and immediately dipped out.. except klarion whom was fighting with raven who immediately froze up too late in front of the portal.

Only for a green portal to appear, as a worned out floating glowing green, but blue skinned teenage boy who turn into a man with red eyes, a clock staff in hand and a glowing white hair baby in a baby carrier.

Klarion is literally struggling like a feral cat who got wet in cold water against some invisible force speaking in some odd static like language before giving up after half a minute when the man spoke back with a short word.

The man now just shape-shifting into turn elderly just gave klarion the baby carrier before noticing how the heroes and villains have stop in mid battles looking at both klarion and him.

"All in soon time, but be warn Flashes whom break the laws of times will get their due if you keep messing with the past and future." Spoken the elderly now shape-shifted into a young boy before he turn back to klarion leaving him a note and glowing baby bag before floating back into the swirling green portal.

Klarion could only look at note with his eye twitching, Teekl meowing as she climb into the baby carrier purring around the glowing baby.

"Why do I keep getting babysitting duty, it so unfa-..." klarion grumbled as he pick up the baby carrier and bag teleporting away..

....

....

"What just happened?" Said Dick whom only one question would be put on hold til later in the watchtower of what just happen before the fight resuming with the young and original justice league winning since the league of Villains were distracted.

The dynamics between Dan, Danny and Ellie are so funny to consider. Danny is far too used to handling Sam and Tucker at their worst and now he has an additional gremlin duo who picked up whatever madness was in Vlad's system when he decided cloning was a great idea. (Danny is highly aware that it is not a good thing to have more him in the world and has resolved to better avoid clone plots). Meanwhile Dan and Ellie will fight over the most random, inane things, but the minute it's about family they band together into a proper terror and the only beings able to stop them are Jazz in her disappointment if the situation calls for it, and sleep deprived Danny who does not realize his exhausted presence is like a terrifying parental figure catching their kid doing something stupid.

It gets even funnier when Jazz finally breaks out of the mindset that she needs to be in charge and instead enjoys herself, and so the only leash for the three most feral Fentons (honorary and named) is a perpetually tired teen/young adult.

Now drop that in Gotham.

Klarion is EXCITED. He's absolutely DELIGHTED even, unable to sit still as he flits from place to place. His baby cousin! Is! Visiting! Which OBVIOUSLY means he, as the older one, must make sure the main places are still standing so he can show his itty bitty baby cousin EVERYTHING! After all, he's never gotten to be the older one! He's always been the youngest in the family! But now he has an itty bitty toddler cousin- form recently shifted to match- to teach the ways of Chaos to! He's so EXCITED!

The League and heroes on the other hand, are Very concerned about Why the Witch Boy has been spotted in practically every major city in the US in the last few days. What is he planning?!

Dp x Dc AU: Dani has a too many break-ups for Danny’s heart to handle as an older brother- So he gives her a criteria that her next boyfriend needs to fit for Danny to approve of their relationship. 

Dani was really excited about her new boyfriend. He was witty, and charming, knew how to sword fight and was absolutely stunning. He loved his family, was passionate about animals and social justice causes, and he was an artist! She had a thing for green eyes, and hey, he was actually super chill about them having flexible schedules to see each other (she had vigilante shit to do that she couldn’t explain)! It’s been going on for a few months and she’s honestly ready for him to meet Danny & Jazz but... 

The last time she was home it was for a broken heart and Danny was beside himself with worry over her. He made the guys recently deceased ancestors come forward to speak on his behalf and it was Mortifying- Danny was ready to throw down. And Dani had to admit, it was super sweet that her big brother cared so much. He’d happily given a shovel talk to each of her partners when she brought them home and he’d happily tried to bond with them and integrate into their lives. Danny always allowed her to make mistakes but respected her choices to only ever ask two questions when a new partner came into the picture: Do they make you happy? Do they treat you well? 

This last time he made a simple request, just could they please fit this one criteria? 

The thought comes to her unfortunately when she’s making out with her perfect match, her soul mate, this beautifully stabby man Damian Wayne, that she should bring up the deal breaker. Her brother gave her literally one request for her next partner, and by the ancients she didn’t want to disappoint Danny. 

Pulling away from her boyfriends kiss for just a moment, Dani quickly asks “Sorry, Sorry, it’s just...Have you ever died before?” 

Damian’s look of confusion and then concern grew on his normally collected face, which told her more than enough. 

“Okay great!” And she leaned back in, only to realize that he’s pulled back. 

“Would... Would you care to explain why you just asked me that?” Damian was doing his best to not jump to conclusions.

“Sorry, I just got in my head a bit about how you’re like, the light of my life and I want you to meet my family and then my brain wandered, before you did that thing with your teeth, to the fact that my brother kind of requested... um, well, he just asked that my next partner be, uh, don’t freak out if this sounds weird, but uh, be dead.” 

“He...He wants your partner to be dead.” 

“Well, Dead adjacent is perfectly normal in my family! It’s not like a whole thing! You’ve died before, so he’ll absolutely love you! And he’ll love you even more because you love me!” She smiles as brilliantly as the stars.

Damian isn’t sure for a second, but eventually asks: “Your family is ‘dead adjacent’ and you want me to meet them?” to which she happily confirms. 

“Do you... Wish to know how I-” Damian begins but she cuts him off “No! Never, I would never ask that of you. He won’t ask either! He actually has a better vision for these things so it probably won’t even come up! How does next Tuesday work?” 

“That should be fine, however, well...On the subject of family expectations ... Is it even possible that you might be a vigilante?” Damian’s worries melt away when his girlfriend smiles and lunges forward to kiss him. 

Families could have such weird expectations, you know?

Danny goes on vacation to the dc universe, only to vibe and do nothing else. He'll let the heroes in this universe deal with whatever. He doesn't plan on doing any hero work or getting involved in any of their nonsense. Every magic user however is scrambling and panicking over the overwhelming amount of death magic that just entered their universe and is just sitting there menacingly.

Danny’s accident happens early. Little 6 year old child was left alone in the lab. Instead of popping out on the human side he ends up in the ghost zone.

Only temporarily. A natural portal opens. Dropping 6 year old Danny on top of John Constantine.

how do you clone a fey? that's trick question; and fey love those!

@the-navistar-carol (<333) brought up a good point while I was talking about my changeling danny au with her -- Dani! How would she exist in this au? Danny's a changeling - a fae. How would Dani, a clone of him, be created? How do you make a fey? Not through any means that Vlad is doing; you can't make a fey through unnatural means, considering the Fair Folk are nature. And Vlad's not a fey himself -- he's a halfa, even if he could make a fey, it's not in his best interest too. He's a powerful ghost, but even the weakest fae can overpower the strongest ghost. He won't want a clone of Daniel to be more powerful than him.

(In a three tier hierarchy it goes Ancients -> Fae/Mythos -> Ghosts. They all live in the Infinite Realms, but on different Planes. The fae live above the Ghost Zone in the Fey Wild, while the Mythos live beside the Wilds or down in the ghost zone depending on where they are. Places like the Frozone, the Athens Acropolis, and other such large islands climb throughout all three Planes.)

(While Ghosts can travel into the Fey Wild, its generally advised against as the ectoplasm tends to manifest differently there due to close contact magic. It can make it rather disorientating for a ghost, and as human spirits, the Fae living there would jump them faster than they could blink. So unless you're willing to play mind games with 'steal thy name eat thy face' fae, most ghosts keep out of the way of the Wilds. Fey can travel down into the Ghost Zone, they just don't bother.)

That's of course, not taking into account if Vlad even knows Danny's a fae himself. Vlad doesn't ring me as someone who really cares much about ghost culture or the going ons of the GZ. He might be aware that fae exist, but the moment he realizes he can't use them for personal gain he just doesn't bother with them. The risk is greater than the reward, and he'd rather not get eaten. But lets assume he's aware by now that Danny is fey, and has to take that into account while cloning him.

So, how does Dani exist? Good question! Honestly; i'm not sure. She might not exist at all, or if she does, she's more halfa than fey. Vlad would need a lot of human dna and ectoplasm to balance out all that fae magic. He manages to steal DNA from Jack and Maddie to do it, and since Jack's fey ancestry is very dormant its much easier to use alongside Danny's DNA.

In turn, it results in a little girl whose more human-ghost hybrid than clone. With that little extra boost in fey magic making her not a fey, but still relatively powerful. Dani is less of a clone and more of a lab-grown little sister. It's a rather tedious, complex process that has Vlad tearing his hair out trying to figure out. But he does eventually figure it out.

Harvey is mid bank heist when he hears “Harv? Is that you? It’s been so long!” From one of his hostages. Oh that voice was so incredibly familiar there’s no way-

Well he’ll be damned. Jack and Maddie Fenton, the couple he had a momentary fling with in college were pushing through the crowds and fully ignoring his goons pointing half a dozen guns at them as they made their way towards him.

Harvey couldn’t believe it. Jack and Maddie were still deeply in love and as crazy as ever, but they kept reaching out to him. They didn’t seem to mind him as the broken man that he is unlike another college friend. They treated him like a person. They didn’t expect his therapy and treatment to magically change him back to how he was, they just were happy that he was happy.

They mentioned once before that they messed up with how they treated their son but they realized their mistake and did their absolute damndest to make it up to their kids. They weren’t going to villainize their college ex. They were going to support him and be for him every step of the way.

Okay, peeps gave me some excellent suggestions for nicknames Penguin could call Jazz & Danny in the Uncle Oz AU (where Penguin adopts Jazz & Danny). The problem is that the suggestions were all *too* good and I can't decide now 😂

Danny had really tried to live a normal life that any normal mortal human would have. 

Probably a mistake to choose a city with a few curses and actual living shadows, but hey Sam really go him into Gothic architecture and he thought that the heroes would have it handled. He underestimated just how often citizens going on about their days were taken hostage. Along with how his luck made him one of the lucky few and of course, the first hostage brought up to be at the end of a gun. 

Danny thought he’d just wait it out. 

He didn’t think the guy pointing the gun would shoot him just as the heroes showed up.

The sound of the gunshot was deafening as Batman and the others entered the warehouse. 

The sight of a body going limp and hitting the floor in a morbid mockery of a puppet with cut strings even more so. 

The gun still trailed smoke as it was being waved around by the rogue who taunted them at another life lost as blood was pooling into a puddle by the body. Meanwhile, the masked heroes had to ignore it. They had to push it aside to come up with a plan, they couldn’t let another die that night. 

Batman and Nightwing played the audience to the typical monologue of the rogue as Robin and Red Robin snuck around to untie the hostages while Black Bat led them outside where Batgirl tended to any wounds and waited for the authorities to arrive. 

“-nd you just run around. Hiding in the shadows trying to save everyone, but you can’t!” the rogue said, he had yet to even share his name underneath his mask. All too excited to share his thoughts with little thought to his surroundings. “I mean everyone acts so afraid of you but you’re just a man in a suit. You’re human and you failed.” They paced around still keeping their focus on Nightwing and Batman while the last few hostages snuck out. 

The rogue laughed gesturing to the dead hostage with his gun. “Look at this guy! Dead because you were late. Probably won’t even make the news.” He nudged a limp arm with his foot and both Nightwing and Batman fought the urge to just shut him up. But he still had a gun and Black Bat was still sneaking hostages out. 

“So many people will die just like him and all you can do is clean up the me-”

“Ancients, will you shut up.”

The rogue froze and Batman looked to see who had spoken. There was groaning and the rogue looked in the direction of it too. 

He looked down. 

The corpse’s hand was latched around his ankle. The sound was coming from it and Batman watched as a bloody head lifted from the puddle of blood, some dripping down. Hair covered its face while the other hand came to where a hole was in the middle. 

The rogue looked pale and shook, the gun fell from his hands, and soon enough so did he. His breaths were frantic as he tried to crawl back and kept looking at the dead body whose hand had not let go of his ankle. He couldn’t get further away.  

The bloody head looked to the side, letting some hair fall away and revealing a face. Icy blue eyes stuck out amidst the red. They stared right at the rogue, narrowing and the rogue opened his mouth but nothing came out. 

The corpse had enough words for all of them. 

“Everyone always has some shit they have to say, don’t they? Doesn’t matter if people just trying to live.  No no no. Just gotta wave a gun in their face, is that right?” They leaned closer to the rogue who was scrambling to get back but the grip on their ankle was unrelenting. “Hmmm. But what if I wanted to say something? What if” - they now were above the rogue like a monster looking down at prey - “I wanted to make you bleed too?”

Batman and Nightwing saw the rogue go unconscious at the whispered words that made their blood freeze and breath caught in their lungs. They waited for this undead creature to do something. But then all of a sudden, the pressure disappeared and the corpse didn’t look so frightening anymore as they backed away from the rogue and made their way to stand up. 

It was human in the way it stretched and groaned like someone sore trying to move. Even more so as a hand came to wipe at their head while they could hear it mumble “So not gonna deal with this shit today,” before they started to walk where the other hostages had exited. Barely even giving Batman or Nightwing a glance or any of the other masked heroes who had come inside the moment something had seemed amiss. 

“Hey wait!” Nightwing called out and the previously unmoving hostage turned around. He looked alive, breathing, his head bloody but no gunshot wound in sight. 

“Yes?” they asked.

Nightwing found it hard to figure out what to say and was beaten to it by Robin who said bluntly, “You were dead.”

The bloody hostage shrugged. “And?”

“Now you are alive.”

They kept looking at him as if expecting more. Robin scowled and looked at Batman for him to say something. 

Batman stepped forward. “Are you alright?” he asked. 

The question made them smile “Could have done without it but c’est la vie et al mort.”

“That so not how the saying goes,” Red Robin said.

“Mmm, maybe not for you.”

“Hood would like him,” came in over the comms from Batgirl. Batman couldn’t help but share the sentiment. He looked back to where Robin was trying to get the meaning out of that comment. It was odd how lively and fine the hostage looked, only a few head rubs and winces showed discomfort. 

He wanted to ask what had happened when suddenly there was the sound of a crash and Batgirl on the comms saying there was trouble outside. Nightwing and Black Bat already headed outside. He turned to tell Robin to stay with the hostage. But when he did, they were nowhere in sight. 

Robin had a scowl on his face. “Father, we will be looking for them correct?” his voice made it clear what decision he thought Bruce should make. Bruce nodded in agreement but also sighed. 

The hostage had been black haired with blue eyes. He could already hear the accusations. 

Prompt three!

Immortal danny in Gotham!!

Danny moves to Gotham (for college, cuz jazz moved there, for fun, whatever you want) it’s pretty cool! The architecture is awesome and there’s already heroes so he doesn’t have to worry!! He’s got an apartment in the Narrows and all is good.

Until he gets taken hostage during a rouge attack.

Mother Fucker- he was having fun living a relatively normal life!! Now there’s some hoe in a holloween costume pointing a gun at his head. Now- Danny knows he can’t be killed by normal means (the Guys in White showed him that) but this’ll still be a pain in the ass.

The Bats arrive on the seen just in time to see A Hostage get killed. The Rogue is ranting and raving about their plans, mocking the bats for letting a citizen die. The bats are trying to focus on making a plan to get the other hostages out safe, but it’s like a stab in the gut seeing someone die because -they were to late-

The bats were about to put their plan into action when The Hostage started tO GET UP??groaning like he’s waking up with a hangover and and very much NOT like he just got SHOT THROUGH THE HEAD 5 MINUTES AGO

He stumbles to his feet and murmurs something about “not dealing with this shit today” unties the other hostages and WALKS OUT THE FRONT DOOR while everyone is processing what the hell happened…

They need to find that guy.

Danny meanwhile, is having a Day. His head hurts like a bitch and he’s been avoiding tons of vigilantes since this mornings… Events. They just keep coming! HOW MANY BATS ARE THERE IN THIS CITY!?!? Spoiler, Nightwing and Batman keep trying to ask him questions, he’s pretty sure Red Robin is STALKING him and the Red Hood tracked him down just to give him a high five RED HOOD WASNT EVEN THERE??? WHY???
