i haven’t seen anyone mention it yet because it was a small moment, but i went a little insane hearing Phil call the Dan birthday pictures he posts every year “a loving selection of photos.”

like i know we all know this, but to hear Phil actually say that all these photos he takes of Dan are loving is just something very special. we rarely get to hear them use the word “love” regarding each other (even though it shines through every moment they’re together).

Baby boy definitely did all that shit, sure, and yeah it was terrible to Louis and Claudia and Lestat and Madeleine and technically the whole coven...he looked fabulous af doing it thought. Credit where credit is due he gaslit his way to a mediocre relationship and, probably, [Redacted but understood by the girlies in the *know* about 1973-1985]. Not being alone meant being in the worst possible relationship for all parties. Gremlin chose violence against everyone, himself included. I'm not gonna say oh woe is him when it comes to this (his backstory is a whole other story but we're not really there yet). He's a chaos demon and I just love that for him. And I love that it was his (eventual) fledgling who exposed him. He had it coming. Either way? He's a little evil shit but he sure as shit was fabulous doing it and I love him.

i will never hate amanda larusso because her role in the narrative is so important. daniel marrying someone only three or four layers removed from karate insanity but still removed from it. who thinks daniel is Exaggerating when he talks of his Troubled Karate Past and eventually realizes oh no he wasn't kidding at all. if anything he left out the worst parts. and the fact that she's also someone who loves him enough to stick by him through Karate Insanity Two Electric Boogaloo. need me a freak who doesnt divorce me despite the increasingly ridiculous men who come out of the woodwork to Ruin my life. RIP people who want amanda to leave him she will never abandon her little italian freak of a husband. mwah.

You know what's fucked up about this entire Horner situation?

They were never gonna let him go. They did the investigation just to fulfill a formality. They even set the grounds for today's announcement by already posting yesterday:

"Any statement from Red Bull GmbH is expected to reflect a thorough and fair investigation, but matters of confidentiality are likely to limit the amount of information shared publicly."

By this, they just meant that whatever bullshit we post tomorrow (translation: we're not kicking him out) it'll be fair and impartial. And if someone asks us any questions (translation: we know we'll get the backlash) we can't say anything because it's a matter of confidentiality and we can't share private information (translation: you can fuck off, we don't have anything to prove him innocent, so we'll use the confidentiality clause).

And that is exactly what they did! They posted that their investigation was "impartial" and "fair" and it contains "private information".

They had been setting the stage for this all along!! Who are they trying to fool though?

I hope she takes him to court and drags him in the mud.

this was kinda the worst episode out of the entire series tbh simply because of the pacing. i liked the episode, but it was all over the place. they tried to tie in all the lose ends in 50 minutes, and that just wasn’t possible. louis being imprisoned, then released, losing his mind, recovering, AND burning down the theater and killing santiago, all in the span of like 5 minutes, the whole louis/lestat/armand scene, daniel exposing armand, loumand divorcing (that was so underwhelming, esp after 2x05, like, i needed these bitches to have a proper verbal argument, i needed them to be AT EACH OTHER’S THROATS), armand turning daniel (offscreen, cause they didn’t have time to get into all that, cause like… no way it was that simple lol there were too many devil’s minion hints throughout both seasons), louis flying to nola, reuniting with lestat (they have far too long and complex a history for it to be resolved so quickly, it would’ve been far more meaningful had it been done right), daniel publishing his book (compiling, writing, editing, publishing it AND selling 4-5 million copies must have taken a lot of time, so time jump, i guess?)… just by typing this out, it’s too much, way too much to cover in a single episode. the hectic pace left me unsatisfied and it also left a lot of room for plot holes (no more unreliable narrators now, cause the interview is done). idk i think they really should’ve split this into two episodes, at least. one of the things that i really admired about this show was the pace. in season 1, they managed to cover 3 decades in the span of only 7 episodes, while simultaneously showing us what was happening in dubai in 2022, and it never felt rushed. season 2’s pacing was still amazing and satisfying, up until this episode. idk man… i hope this doesn’t happen again, cause it really left a bitter taste in my mouth, and it was the finale, so my expectations were high.

Between that and the cunt-off happening in the Dubai plotline I genuinely couldn't stop smiling...

I started smiling somewhere around the time Armand first showed up in the Paris plotline and didn't stop until the credits ended. My cheeks hurt.

I'm being a little unfair, everyone is tense and on edge in a situation none of them were really as ready to face right now as any of them thought they were, but there are still aches worth examining and pains worth working through and figuring out how to soothe.

also like i keep reading fics where people try to spin daniel's turning as something he was sort-of into, and that he sort-of consented to it (although with his life being threatened he could never consent fully, yanno) and also it tends to be intermingled with him and armand having sex and like. i know im a killjoy for saying this but i really hope in canon it isn't like that. like the turning is this massively violating and cruel thing and honestly i think it'd be a lot more interesting for it to be one more issue the two of them have to move past before they have any sort of relationship with each other
