He doesn't have to do anything almost for her to get into his life. She is easy and good and perfect so we should feel bad for not liking her, for not wanting her for him when everyone around Carmy thinks so of her and doesn't miss a chance to throw it right into our (and Carmy's) face all the fucking time. All the fucking time.

And so for me, it is written like that for a reason.

However we also see that Carmy starts losing his focus the moment she comes back into his life and best believe, I think he felt it, i think he knew and that is why he gave her a fake number bcs deep down he had a certain understanding that she was not perfect for the person he wants to become, he started to become but guess what, she forces herself and his entourage (Fak his best friend lol remember how carmy is a bit ???? When she tells him that thru the phone) thinks this might be good for him, she is the person Carmy always wanted so they think they are helping but they are wrong and they dont know and they dont see how he is eager to envolve bcs he doesn't show it much with them, he is not as open and human with them like he is with Syd. Besides, Carmy also has the tendancy to let things happen to him too, he kinda likes having it easy regarding all the other parts of his life (other than his job) so he just goes with the flow and so Carmy stops changing the sec he meets her again.

He stops and misses the opportunity to grow and envolve and find his purpose and I know deep down he knows and that is why all of their scenes kinda feels off. He knows deep down, not up front but we know with how their interactions are shown to us.

Claire is perfect for the Carmy from the past. She is perfect for the person he used to be and not for the one he thrives to become and so I am very excited to see how they're gonna play that for season 3 especially after she told him she loves him.

Ep8 "What Can The Damned Really Say To The Damned" rewatch thoughts (Part 1)

On my third rewatch of the first episode of season 2, I noticed a ton more than I had before. Whether that's because it was on a brighter tv screen, or just that my initial buzz had stopped overloading my cognitive functions, who knows.

In any case, here's my first 10 things I missed!

Just after the massacre of soldiers at the checkpoint - Louis spits something out as they walk away. Did he also help kill them? Is that a tooth or something? I love the idea that Louis is doing a lot more human hunting that he ever lets on...

2. “Or is it the sleep of an infant? Tabula rasa” - I had to look up this term because I'd not heard it before, but it's roughly the philosophical idea that babies’ minds are born as a blank slate. (Wikipedia)

3. Just before Louis complains that he’s cold, you can see that the bonfire is using a dead soldier as fuel. Additionally, he's talking about his refusal to burn Lestat as they huddle around it (nice touch, sicko writers!).

4. Obviously I knew that the "Huns" were German soldiers, but I wasn't sure what “Beasts of Ivan” was referring to... Russian forces? Or Ivan the Terrible (Treblinka guard)? TBH, even after googling, I'm still not entirely sure.

5. Oh god the skeletons of the vampires they discover - Louis and Claudia don’t know to scatter the ashes so their souls are still likely trapped in there?? 😭 (See also: Daciana after the fire…)

6. The Dubai staff member taking Louis’s blood dish away is wearing a face mask and gloves but Real Rashid is wearing gloves but no mask… Who do we know that did that in season 1, eh?? 👀

7. Now, this might not be anything but I thought it was interesting that you can see Louis’s breath in the sequence with Hallucistat (whose breath you can also see). So does that mean he's fed recently to be warm enough to do so? There was a great story on the Truest Blood podcast where the actors talked about needing to suck on ice cubes so that their breath didn't show up on camera, and that detail really stuck with me.

8. Louis says “I had taken 7,000 souls by then.” Ok, let's do some maths - 7,000 divided by 35 years is 200 per year, or 3.5 per week. That's roughly one murder every other day, which seems like a lot for someone claiming to be a vegetarian?? Like, was he killing several a night in the early years with Lestat (the "blood-drunken night in Baton Rogue", for instance), and for the past several years with Claudia? Sure, we see him bite a rat here, but he's clearly killing more than he wants to admit to himself...

9. The little boy that Morgan bribes with a cigarette to take Claudia away from adult conversation - his name is Andrei. Book readers may remember that this was Armand's given human name. (I don't think it means anything, I just think it's a nice touch from the writers, and they might change this in the show to be something more appropriate to his background)

10. After Louis remembers that Emilia mentioned about the woods after Claudia left, Armand suggests Louis takes a break. Daniel then goes on a rant to Real Rashid, ending with “You I can fucking break!” Louis dismisses Rashid, but then then Armand immediately follows him out of the room. What was Armand following him for? What was he saying to Rashid?

-something interesting is how much more the lack of communication drove me bonkers this time around, like please just explain everything in detail to each other we could solve so many problems

-Merlin also seems like so much more of an ill-moraled character this go around? Like he is truly so morally grey and his logic for “should I do this” is deeply just “does it in any potential way benefit Arthur/the fuckass prophecy”

-TO THE POINT THAT he’s literally like Magic’s #1 Hater for five straight seasons AND can’t see that he is actively making the prophecy unfold every single time

-Gwen/Morgana gfs my angels I’m so sorry this happened to you

-Morgana should have had a friend so badly like one friend (not Morgause) would have saved her

-same exact sentiment for Mordred

-Merlin/Arthur and Merlin/Gwaine literally no comments

-actually this show invented polyamory and throuples would have saved many of you

-Morgana and Morgause…. This script is fruity as hell can we be for real. Both actresses said “yeah we played it a little queer” I fear the BBC was not brave enough to give Morgana an evil fucked up gf and went the Kill la Kill route

-I think by Elyan’s death all the knights fully must know that the ambiguous secret Merlin seems to have is in fact his magic and they are just choosing not to say anything out of respect for him (“he’s tell us when he’s ready”)

-EXCEPT: Leon doesn’t know. I do however think Leon just thinks Merlin is gay.

-Gwaine absolutely knows there’s literally no way around that one

-Gwen I feel also had an inkling that Merlin had magic, which I feel is supported by her and Gaius’ conversation in S5E13, I do also think she thinks he’s gay

-I forgot how much of a through-line the joke that Merlin crossdresses is, it comes up at least three times

-tangentially related, the early friendship between Morgana and Merlin… I mourn u every day! The friends they could’ve been and how happy he was when he thought she knew he had magic (S1? When she thinks he has a crush on Gwen)

-also I forgot how much angst Merlin had about magic towards Gaius, several (justified) comments about how Gaius doesn’t understand what he’s going through

-also so so interesting is that I feel like in so many Magic Revealed fics, we write Arthur responding with shock & confusion & anger (which all rock big fan), but in the finale, once he understands that Merlin is so for serious a sorcerer, he’s just so scared of him?? Which was crazy I don’t think that has sunk in before how scared he looks

-and then they start to get over it and we get the reminiscing about their fight from the first day they met where Merlin confesses to using magic and we get the devastating exchange “you cheated” “you looked like you were going to kill me!” “I should have”

-(also why was the full breadth of her enchantment never discussed back to miscommunication please she didn’t cheat on him like that justice for Gwen’s rep I’m sick)

-BUT ALSO! A season later in S5E13 we get Merlin and a dying Arthur with Merlin trying to explain that they have so much to do so Arthur can’t die, and Arthur says “just hold me”

-I will lose it every time about this one… watching half of a couple die and mourn the chance to live a life together and then mirroring that at your own death with the man you are unexplainably close and connected to

-also the “I’m going to say something I’ve never said to you before… thank you” had such a queer set up that even my parents thought it was going to be an “I love you” when we watched the show for the first time together in like 2014 so… it’s the Spanish supernatural finale dub in my heart

-I think that’s enough I’m just sick to my STOMACH over this show once again, obviously it’s a BBC show from 2009 so it’s not without criticism but it’s genuinely my favorite TV show I’ve ever seen without competition. There is a deeply clear allegory for queerness that has drawn in and continues to draw in queer fans constantly and keep the viewership active. I also just love so badly how campy and classic it is, it’s one of the few pieces of media I have in DVD because I fear so badly to lose it. it was such a damn poor decision by oda to have usopp rejoin after sunny's reveal and franky's recruitment im so damn mad about it

why have usopp eavesdropping during the scene with garp? it had absolutely no narrative value and was awkward as fuck

why have usopp joining the after-party as sogeking? this is pretty fucked up on so many levels (that boy really thought *usopp* didn't have the right to be there) but we know oda loves that after battle celebration with everyone and he had to force usopp into it somehow

i hate hate hate that usopp's not part when sunny was revealed i hate it so fucking much

almost as much as not having him part of franky's recruitment like, fuck, look at this from luffy's perspective: usopp wasn't on enies lobby and has never really bonded/made up with franky, the last time luffy knows usopp's met franky was when franky and the others beat usopp up and despite that, luffy agreed with zoro that usopp needs to step up and come back to them when they suddenly have franky with them, like fuck, luffy didn't think at all huh? if usopp hadn't been on enies lobby, he definitely wouldn't have made the first move and apologized and i wouldn't have blamed him

but at the same time, i can see it clearer than ever why zoro demanded that apology; usopp had been an re-accepted part of the crew during and at the end of enies lobby, he stood proud and without his mask with them and no one would have rejected him or demanded an apology in that moment, but usopp got cold feet and hid again, he didn't claim sogeking's achievements as his own as he should have done, and i think that's why zoro couldn't act like nothing happened, those cold feet showed a lack of trust from usopp to the crew that zoro couldn't accept

but those fucking cold feet are so engraved into usopp's being, he already has abandonment issues and is so afraid to be rejected, he developed a different persona because he fucking thought they wouldn't allow him to save robin with them, and he had to make up stories that the crew still likes and misses him, how fucking sad is that, lying is his coping mechanism, how can anyone take it literally?? he thinks they wouldn't take him back no matter what, so all he can do is lie and try to act unaffected when he is anything but

but then again, i could have taken zoro's words way better if they had some kind of foreshadowing, dropped like this it really had been out of nowhere, there had been no objections to usopp joining them on enies lobby and suddenly there are conditions to take him back? conditions usopp doesn't know about? conditions that are nearly impossible to meet by their notoriously lying sniper? yeah what a mature declaration, zoro, look who's actually playing pirates....... :)

i hate the implication that usopp threw a tantrum and acted childish so fucking much!!! being emotionally hurt like he had been is valid, yes lashing out wasn't the best thing to do but it was understandable in his situation, and luffy handled the whole situation just as poorly, and i do appreciate that even zoro said it doesn't matter who was right or wrong, if someone was right or wrong at all (there wasn't, everyone was hurting)

and now after finally rewatching the apology scene, my major problem with it is that usopp didn't just apologize, it's that he said he was wrong, when again hurt feelings aren't wrong, and i very much appreciate luffy's reaction to usopp's words, he is so taken aback, and i feel like it's because usopp's groveling and breaking down like that, that wasn't what he wanted and had expected from usopp, but usopp really shows his true deepest fears only in moments of high distress, and i think it was only in that moment that it really hit luffy that usopp meant every word of how inferior he felt within the crew, nobody wanted usopp to beg and grovel, but he did because he thought it was his last and only chance

and you know what i also hate? that oda opted out of taking responsibility of the emotional impact w7 had on everyone and have everyone immediately acts as if nothing had ever happened, but yeah it's a shounen and men don't talk about their feelings i get it...... :)))

can you image how perfect it would have been if usopp had taken the sogeking mask off on merry's last sail? that boy didn't need to be humbled, that boy needed to claim his achievements as his own and have trust that his friends love him as he is, that would have been some great character growth, he needed that confidence boost and not to grovel in despair while he thought he was left behind for good (again)

i fucking hate that oda looked at usopp and saw a boy that was blinded by pride and needed to get off his high horse when he wrote an anxious boy with abandonment issues

Even though you missed him, you felt good putting yourself first.

The party went better than you thought, you were able to distract yourself from any negative thoughts and appreciated having your favourite people around. "Where’s Kylian?", one of your friends asked after following you into the kitchen. Taking a cold bottle of water out of the fridge, you shortly froze at the mention of his name. Turning around to face her, you attempted to play it cool, "He’s not coming." She furrowed her brows at you. "Why not? I thought you were so close." Your eyes rolled at her question, though you tried to hide your downcast expression. "I didn’t invite him", you coldly responded and rushed over her. "I feel like there’s something you haven’t told me yet", she insisted. You took a deep breath, "Can we talk about this later? I don’t want to discuss this out on my birthday." She understandingly nodded, "Sorry." Through the light pain you felt, you smiled at her and tilted your head. "Forget about it. How about a round of shots?" The pair of you giggled and went back to the rest of the group.

Kylians date repeated his name several times, slightly pushing his hand until he finally looked up, "Huh?"

"Are you even listening to me?", her face scrunched up as her eyes moved back and forth between Kylian and his phone, which he quickly locked. "Honestly, no." Her lips parted in shock, discomfort showing in her face. "I gotta go now. It was nice seeing you", was all he said, not even dedicated a glance to her, before he finally got up from his chair, paid for himself and walked out of the restaurant.

Currently you were playing "Never have I ever". Neymars friend Gil read out the questions. If you’ve done one of the said things, you had to drink your shot. When Gil read out a dirty question and you quickly downed your shot, Neymar widened his eyes at you. "Damn Y/N, I didn’t want to know that", he spoke up jokingly, his chuckle being interrupted by the door bell ringing. You were about to get up, but your brother insisted he would go for it. "What the fuck are you doing here?", Neymar asked when he opened the door to find the uninvited visitor. "It’s Y/Ns birthday and no one told me?!", Kylian complained, lightly pushing Neymar to the side in order to enter the house. "I can't recall her inviting you." Kylian looked around the decorated house and nodded as he enjoyed some of the snacks he found. "Yeah and I'm actually pissed about it." Neymar scoffed in disbelief. "You didn’t even remember it’s her birthday, so-" He got cut off by you entering the room. "Who is it Ne- Oh." For a few seconds, you silently stood in front of Kylian who kept on searching for something of his taste at the snack bar. "Happy Birthday princess. Forgot to tell me about your party hm?", he greeted you. Neymar rolled his eyes at him before deciding it would be the best to leave the two of you alone. "I thought you’d be on a date", you crossed your arms in front of your chest. He tried to talk through the bunch of grapes that filled his mouth. "Didn’t go as planned. Nevertheless, what’s up with you? You’re not answering my calls and texts, now you didn’t even invite me to your birthday. I could’ve used you sometime this week." He wiggled his eyebrows while you just raised one at him. "Yeah, you could use me, the only thing you need me for."

"Girl what? We’ve agreed on this friends and benefits thing", he said, "You could’ve just told me if you got uncomfortable with it. Adding to that, I've told you I don’t want anything serious. You’re my best friends sister, I wouldn’t play you like that."

"Your best friends sister? Is this all I am to you?", you cried out, tears forming in the corner of your eyes. "Y/N, what got into you? I thought we were just having some fun, what are you making a scene for?" "Damn, you really don’t get it do you? I'm not spreading my fucking legs for just anyone!" As a tear rolled down your cheek, it suddenly hit him. You liked him more than a friend and he was too blind to see. "I'm- I'm sorry Y/N, I had no idea. I never meant to hurt you", he stuttered out as you couldn’t even stop the tears from flooding. Neymar walked in the room to check up on you, only to find you hiding your face behind your hands and crying bitterly. He quickly rushed up to you, wrapping his strong arms around you. Kylian was trying to explain himself, but Neymar didn’t let him. "Leave. Now", he glared at him. Kylian tried to continue, but he was lost for words. "I’m sorry Y/N, I really am. I… I hope the rest of the day goes well for you."

You just came back from showering, already getting comfortable in your pajamas, when Neymar jumped up from the couch. "I'll go get some snacks, do you want anything?", he asked, pulling his car keys out of his joggers. "No, thank you. Hurry up though, or else I'll fall asleep", you softly smiled at your brother in gratitude. He didn’t only go to grab some snacks, but discuss things out with his former best friend. Luckily, Kylian just got out of the cab when Neymar parked in front of his house. Neymar stepped out of his car and noticed a girl following Kylian, their hands intertwined. When Kylian realised who stood there, he simply looked at him in confusion. "We need to talk", Neymar said, expecting that girl to leave, but she only tightened her grip on Kylians hand. Kylian was tipsy, but she was drunk as fuck. "Can y'all do this later? We were just about to…", she blabbered, holding onto Kylians arm as she was about to stumble her way to his entrance door. "You were about to get your ass back in that cab and let us talk, alright?" Her eyes widened at Neymars words.

"You’ll just let him talk to me like that?", she looked at Kylian, who didn’t take his eyes off Neymar. "Do as he said", he coldly responded. She made her way back to the cab, cursing them out inaudibly. "So what do you want to talk about?", Kylian finally spoke up to break the unbearable silence. "My sister, obviously", Neymar started, "I never supported what the two of you had. I knew you would hurt her. This situation isn’t anything I didn’t expect. But leave her alone now. Just fucking drop it. Even if she gets weak and tries to contact you, don’t even think of replying. If I ever happen to see you close to her, or even just message her, I swear to God Kylian, I'll forget myself." Kylian remained quiet, feeling a strike of shame as he listened. "Did you hear me?", Neymar said, soft but still in an angry tone. "I’ll leave her alone. Just take care of her and make sure she’ll be alright, okay?" "Bet on it", Neymar reassured him, glancing over at him one last time before getting into his car and driving home to you.

"Finally! What took you so long?", you shouted out the moment you heard the entrance door open. "Sorry pequena, they didn’t have your Ben & Jerrys so I had to find it somewhere else." You couldn’t hide your big smile when he handed you your favourite ice cream. "You’re the best, honestly", you squeaked out. "I know, I know", he laughed. Neymar watched how happily you ate your ice cream, the way you giggled at the silliest parts of the comedy movie, and in that moment he promised himself, he would never let anything or anyone hurt his little sister ever again.

Just rewatched Western Energy:

2 minutes and 30 seconds in and the episode already has a major fucking plot hole. If Striker could hear Stolas talking to Blitz on the phone WHY tf didn't he destroy it the second Stolas started to call? If he did that than I.M.P would have never been notified that Stolas was in danger in the first place

Small contradiction: the episode establishes that the nurse that Blitz talks to can't read...then 30 seconds later she is able to read a list of names when searching for Blitz's name. Funny how Viv forgets even the smallest of things here

Dear god the tonal issues this episode are at their worst. So many serious scenes are just interrupted by unfunny sex jokes, and the episode constantly switches between serious and comedic scenes out of fucking nowhere. The tonal whiplash here is insane.

The entire fucking scene where Striker tortures Stolas is the biggest example; Striker stabs Stolas a few times and its constantly interrupted by him making an unfunny sex joke. There's nothing wrong with inserting jokes into serious scenes but you need to do it in a way that doesn't come across as tonal whiplash. This episode is FILLED with SO much tonal whiplash it doesn't make me feel anything in any of the serious scenes

The pacing is also bad here as well. Everything feels like it goes by waaaaay too damn fast, and the tonal issues make this problem even worse

The final scene. Once again the show's pacing issues and tonal problems make this serious scene have no impact. I don't feel ANYTHING while watching it.

And then there's the reveal that Stolas and Blitz's feud in Ozzie's god was resolved with a fucking blink and you'll miss it text message. That's such a lazy and underwhelming way to resolve this conflict. Ya, this was the moment I officially lost my patience with season 2.

Well, this episode was just as bad as I remembered it being. This might actually be worse than Oops, but I'll wait until I rewatch that one.

Thoughts on season 17?

So I talked briefly about s17 last night in a 2am haze here are those rambles but I'll try to give a whole debriefing on my opinions here (spoilers ahead obvi)

So, honestly, going into s17 I was very skeptical. I hate s16 with a passion even rewatching it last night to do this little 'finally finishing the show' thing I'm currently doing. I also have heard a lot of people talk about how Tucker was done dirty in these ending seasons. And I'm the kinda guy that does his best to hold of on having opinions on stuff I haven't personally watched cause I just don't think anyone can realistically have a strong opinion just based on other peoples thoughts and words. Buuuut it still didn't put much hope in me that was for sure lol

Going in though I was, admittedly, pleasantly surprised. It wasn't, like, amazing but it didn't suck! And it was FAR better than s16 and at this point that's all I can ask for lmao. The first thing I wanna talk about is, obviously, Tucker (lol) and his whole thing in s17.

So, like most RVB seasons, s17 is the continuation and end of of the time travel arc thing so it's coming off of s15 and s16 but mostly s16. Now, I'm actually gonna go ahead an preface all this with saying I fucking HATE time travel in media it almost always gives me a headache and I will talk about that at some point but I wanted to get that out of the way here.

SO Tucker. My guy of all time the dude of always and forever. He got probably ones of my favorite arcs of all time for a character especially in RvB seconded only to like the Freelancers. And I've talked about how much s16 basically turned me off the show for a LONG while and most of that was because of how they were writing Tucker.

S17 is not nearly as bad here. So they actually give a reason to his weird ass behavior in s16 and where I don't think it was perfectly executed it made it a lot more bearable for me, honestly. It put more context as to why his personality did almost a complete 180. It also gave me the time to really pick apart what they were clearly trying to do with him. Like having him work through his masking he does for his insecurities and still processing the whole hero arc he got a few seasons back. That's all super interesting I just do wish they'd have done it better.

But I will say; TUCKER IN THE LABYRINTH? TUCKER IN THE LABYRINTH??? FUCKING HELLO???? Like. No one said anything in the episode really. But like. My brother in christ he had a panic attack and then passed out on the fucking floor cause he watched his friends disappear and didn't know what to do or how to get them back. LIKE OH MY GOD??? Like Chorus we saw him get pretty frantic about the others being 'taken' by the Federation. So he gets pretty obsessive when someone is missing it seems but for his greatest fear that the Labyrinth used to try and get him to kill himself was juts? A fear of being alone??? That's insane. Like lots of people fear being alone! Lots of people fear their friends and family leaving them! That's normal ish enough. But for Tuckers fear to be so fucking strong that the AI believed it was enough to kill him?! DUDE WHAT? THATS INSANE! IT MAKES ME ACTIVLLY CRAZY WHAT THE HELL! I think blowing up is the only way I can cope with this thanks

Also, speaking. Of Tucker. UM THE TIME FRAGMENT HE HAD TO FIX? THANKS. THANK YOU. THAT WAS SO PAINFUL. THAT WAS FUCKING FOR ME PERSONALLY. THEY DID THAT SHIT FOR ME. No joke that happened and I fucking scrambled out of my bed and ran to my qp's room like STARRRRR and I'm over here like climbing into their bed and half to tears about to sob like a clown just like "STAR STAR THEY DID THE THING THEY DID THE THING ITS FRECKLES SHAKE STAR STAR HE HAD TO RELIVE FRECKLES SHAKE STARRRRR" and they're like "... yeah?" (<- They have seen like two seasons of this show and have no idea what the fuck I am on) BUT LIKE DAMN HIM HAVING TO SABOTAGE HIS OWN TEAM TO MAKE IT TURN OUT THE WAY HE NEEDS IT TO FIX THE TIMELINE. FUCKED UP. ESPECIALLY TO LEARN HOW FUCKING SCARED HE IS OF SHIT LIKE THAT EXACT SITUATION HAPPENING? FUCKING AWEFUL I LOVED EVERY SECOND IT WAS AMAZING BEST DECISION SINCE SLICED BREAD HOLY FUCK!

So, uh, yeah they made up for s16 at least for me :)

ANYWAYS. Other parts I loved: so like, fr? The time travel in this season wasn't as bad as other shows. It was p easy to grasp and the whole "reliving events to fix those points in time" actually made more since than most bullshitted time travel plots (I'M LOOKING AT YOU NINJAGO SEASON 2 EPISODE 6 WRONG PLACE, WRONG TIME. IM LOOKING DIRECTLY AT YOU) so I did really appreciate that. Also them jumping through time like they were doing especially when Donut was with Wash? FUCKING AMAZING. It was like genuinely hysterical them continuously going back to the point where he shoots Donut and Donuts like WHY DO I KEEP DOING THIS??? It's great peek comedy especially when its Wash that brings them back to that moment n hes like oh fuck im so sorry its GREAT

ALSO MORE OF THE FREELANCERS !!!! I LOVE THEM!!!! I love seeing our silly guy Wash interacting with the other Freelancers. Wash and Donut in this season were literally perfect. I loved them befriending each other and being silly together. Donut and Wash adventures are honestly the best part of this season actually.

Also WASH AND CAROLINA THIS WHOLE SEASON OH MY GOD. OHHH MY GOD. They make me so insane this season watching both how they started and then how they had like their mini breakup but came back together CAROLINA CALLING HIM HER BROTHER FUUUUCKKKK ITS SO EVERYTHING TO ME MAN THEY ARE FUCKING FAMILY DAMNIT

Speaking of family DONUT FINALLY GETTING RESPECT FROM THE REDS N BLUES! HOLY SHIT!! I've always hated how sidelined Donut got cause I love him I think he's great. But like, they pretend like he's so forgettable or not even there. And having TUCKER learn his character development in this season from DONUT and him and Wash telling ppl like no assholes listen to Donut he knows what he's talking about he can lead us THAT FUCKED ME UP THAT WAS SO GOOD ILL BLOW UP

I do, however, wish that Donut had more self respect. The whole "they may hate me but theyre till my friends!" bit was kinda not great LIKE if it had come in AFTER some of the stuff between him and Wash or him n Tucker then that would be fine but idk it felt weird that Donut chose the reds n blues over Chronos in s16 finale to me like it would make more sense if he was like nah fuck BOTH yall but we still gotta save the planet for me at least and then coming around like woah wait yall do care about me? n the apologies n shit

Speaking of apologies fucking Wash being like "you are all going after him and saying youre sorry" was so funny hes such a dad

HMMMM ALSO CAROLINA'S BIT IN THE LABYRINTH!! THAT WAS ALSO SOOO GOOD not to be insane but when she talks about having people in her life and that makes her stronger the camera is specifically showing Tucker and Wash behind her and this is where I blow up I just explode I cannot cope WAH

There's like just so many good character moments like with Grif and Kai in her Labyrinth god that was so so so good. And Huggins and Grif was also the perfect of all time as always. Huggins and Grif are so good I love them.

I will say another negative admittedly was how hard Kai had it out for Tucker like when they were trying to snap him out of the time thing and out of the Labyrinth idk like I'm sure it was all for laughs but it felt like when they had their talk that things were gonna be better for them like as friends obvi not as an item since she shut that down. But then like idk it felt kinda off to me but also the whole s16 thing just made me SUPER put off on any Kai and Tucker stuff in canon material. I LOVE the idea of them being friends I used to hc Tucker being super super close w both Grif sibs and I personally still do! But the show eh idk hard to explain ig lol

the TLDR is i liked it! it wasnt perfect but it was waaaay better than s16 and i had a good time either way !

I strongly believe misogyny and racism are behind the flop of this movie, I had an amazing time watching it, whole thing was genuinely funny with relevant marvel lore and characters plots (the aliens are still fighting each other and blaming humans, but hey, colonialism and exploit of resources are the main reason we have to protect planets). Everyone loves when Peter Quill explores the galaxy but if three women do the same it's suddenly a problem.

A lot of people saying how tired they are of Marvel, were only tired of women doing the Marvel formula, don't believe those haters. Just like every other Marvel project, we have the hero journey and their blockbusters cliches, a lot of visual effects and jokes, LIKE EVERY OTHER MARVEL PROJECT, but sure, let's blame the girls for the failure. To me, it was really refreshing just to see women having fun and supporting each other and throwing little energy balls every now and then.

Also, the fact that Princess Carol is a fucking Star now? Pretty sure that got her killed in the What if series but good to know she's more powerful than that.

Kamala is the star of this movie, she's so funny and charming but also Monica and Carol angst got me crying and it was not enough!! I need more of their pain

I almost forgot, Miss Carol Danvers is all by herself in space just using a god damn TORTURE DEVICE to try to get her memories back, EXCUSE ME??? Someone gives this woman a hug, or idk, sent her to therapy with Bucky cause jesus Christ that's not healthy lady.

For the things I didn't like, the rhythm for sure. Such a quick movie, a lot of things happening, one minute I was crying the next I was giggling then crying again and then thinking about politics like slow down a little. I wanna digest the dialogues for a second.

THE SINGING PLANET I CANNOT-

Really funny movie, kamala's parents, the cats, everything was so easy going and cheerful even with the little angst moments, I had such a good time.

The best thing about this movie, as fanfic writer who gets truly frustrated with plot holes and stuff like that, it's that I will be able to watch it again. Movies from the first phases I used to love before I start writing, I can no longer enjoy the same 'cause I keep seeing how they don't make a fucking sense or have unbearable characters storylines and personality changes (yes I'm talking about Civil War and Age of Ultron or Ultimate, maybe STEVE ROGERS LEAVING BUCKY in a specific matter). This and also the fact they lack all kinds of minorities. Doctor Strange had like 2 women in the cast?? And don't even get me started on talking about what the sequel did to Wanda's character development.

The Marvels, Ragnarok, Black Widow, Captain Marvel, Captain America (1&2), Infinity War and Guardians of The Galaxy (all three), Black Panther (both), Ten Rings, Eternals, are still the only Marvel movies I actually enjoy rewatching, because they are projects that respect the characters established personalities and history and for origins ones like Eternals or Ten Rings, they are simply fun, what a crime for a movie to be just fun huh

All of the shows are worth rewatching (even Fury's one that I hated it), 'cause they were given time to develop into stuff and as a writer there's a lot for us to work it.

Btw, I'm not talking about Kate Bishop'cause I'm simply unable to process my happiness over seeing her again. I do think I might have a stroke once Yelena is back.

so I started CM: Evolution last night and I have a lot of thoughts, they're very basic because I was typing them as I watched, but I'm gonna do a little overall at the end too. So SPOILER WARNING for below the cut

I don't know how to feel. Definitely need a rewatch of Extreme Agressor, that I do know.

Overall, I don't think it really felt like Criminal Minds. All the current talk - covid, gen z slang and even tiktok is...no, it really takes the magic out of the show. A part of why I love CM so much is because it feels nostalgic, especially watching the first few seasons that are done before the 2010s. Having all those reminders of current times really makes it hard to disassociate and fully enjoy what you're watching, at least for me. Most of the characters felt OOC, i really cannot understand why that is. The first episode is written by Erica Messer who is a staple as a writer on the show and has been for years. It's just...so not CM, and so far I don't really like that.

But yeah, I'll be watching the rest just because I want to see where they take the story, but I'm not really a fan.

(If i see the word hoo-ha used again, I'm committing a felony. I also don't need to hear about the pussy candles brand either.)

So, season 1 rewatch is done and I forgot just how fucking great the last fight scene is, he’s just so… gah! To be fair the entire last episode is fantastic, probably my favourite one up until this point, but it got me drooling over Matt in the gym. I don’t even think I have to say anything, but like considering I split my hand open from going after a punching bag, I’m just picturing Matt trying to fix the injury, showing me how to hit properly once it’s healed, his voice in my ear, his whole slutty body against mine, the whole nine yards.

Also, practicality means red suit is safer, red suit and helmet are smarter and my nursing student ass approves because safety, but the whore in me is lamenting that it’s missing the absolute whorishness of the skin tight black one. It’s a problem, Charlie get a million times hotter when he’s punching things, bleeding a little, and ya know, just speaking, so someone in costuming knew what they were doing 👀

Still not over “Avocados at Law” btw. And that smooth fucking Spanish, ya girl is gone and so are her clothes 😂 I’m just considering myself lucky that he lives in my iPad and isn’t a few blocks away. Compulsive tease.

OMG that final fight scene!! Matt's little "take your shot" in his Devil voice always gets me. And all those flips when he fights Fisk always feels like he's showing off to me 🤣 Like did you need all of them? I think punching would have worked just fine...

Honestly any time we see Matt in a gym working out I drool. I've got a weakness for Matt's arms, especially if they're all sweaty because he's been punching a bag for a bit. But Matty would absolute help you bandage your knuckles and he'd teach you in the future how to properly wrap your hands and throw a punch to avoid injury. And he'd be doing it to keep you from getting hurt in the future, but let's be real, it'd be damn near impossible to focus on what he's teaching with his body pressed against yours and his hands on you. He'd be repeatedly reminding you to focus and it would make things worse 😆

I KNOW! I love that he's protected with the new suit because I don't want him dead, but also, I love seeing that black fabric clinging to him. I'm not going to deny it. At least we get somewhat of a comeback of it in season 3! It's not the same, but it's something.

HIM AND FOGGY ARE ALWAYS SO CUTE. The cutest little avocados! But I love that you're still stuck on his Spanish 🤣 Maybe we'll see more of it in Born Again? Who knows.

Do you think Ian, Lip or Fiona ever broke any bones as kids? And if so, how do you think that it happened?

we actually learned that ian broke his collarbone at 12, and i always find that very interesting.

there are three ways that i think this could have happened:

he pulled a season 1 carl. i feel like younger ian was basically just like younger carl just a bit quieter and more mellow (less of a psycho), but he was definitely athletic and hyper like him. in season 1 carl tries to do a crazy stunt by driving a dirt bike off of the roof or some shit like that and ends up breaking his arm, so i can imagine ian trying to show off for lip or something and then just landing wrong and… bam. maybe he like, fell out of a tree or something. all i know is that it must’ve been pretty ian “play what cool” gallagher.

he and lip pull one of their infamous schemes and ian fucks up. yet again, ian “play what cool” gallagher lives up to that name. i’m thinking of the first scene with them both in 3x01 when they’re stealing that part for the thing lip was building (sorry i’m doing a rewatch rn but i’m only at like 2x07 so i don’t remember what) and then ian jumps off of the building and runs from the cops. maybe they stole something dumb from like, the mall or something, and they get chased and ian tries to do what he does in 3x01, but he’s only 12 so he’s not as strong, trained, and tall as he ends up being so he totally fucks up and gets caught. that’s pretty similar to #1 but i’m placing the blame more on lip because let’s be honest, lip most definitely had something to do with it.

football. ian played football in elementary/middle school, according to season 2 carl, so maybe he got hurt doing that? i was going to try to elaborate but all i know about football is that there’s a ball and people get tackled so… yeah. maybe his collarbone was the reason he stopped playing. like, we know he stopped and we know he wished monica was there when he broke it, so maybe he got hurt at a game that monica missed (ian gives monica shit for missing carl’s other games in season 2, maybe he was projecting?) and since he was injured and realized his mom couldn’t be bothered to come anyways, he quit? …damn that got angsty oops

also, ian is such an athlete that i can imagine him breaking other bones too, and based off of the scene in 1x01 where fiona says she can “never remember whether that’s good or bad” when lip winces after she’s trying to help him leads me to believe she’s had to deal with a kid breaking a leg or an ankle or something. i think it would be ian. i also remember hearing that when you break a bone it makes it easier to break it again later on, so him breaking his leg when he was younger could explain how his leg snapped so easily in 10x08😭

as for fiona, i can’t ever see her breaking a bone but for some reason i can really see her spraining her ankle as a teen. she was a track star and always going on runs, and i feel like that’s a common injury in track (my girlfriend does track… that’s the only somewhat athletic thing i know even a little bit about so i apologize for my stupidity about this LMAO). it could be a serious problem if fiona needed to lay low for a bit, because she would not let herself do it. and if she was still in school and doing track she’d be like, 16? so ian and lip would be 10 and 11, and i could imagine them forcing her to lay down and rest while they took care of things for her.

lip has never broken a bone in his life, miraculously. i mean, if you count breaking his nose, a few knuckles, and bruising his ribs then maybe, but i don’t think he’s really suffered a serious injury like that before. he always is getting into (and losing) fights, but he managed to never break a bone. my man is too unathletic for that shit (me too bro)… a deviated septum and maybe a sprained wrist are the worst injuries he’s delt with.
