I love plants and flowers and their symbolic meanings, so I decided to do these drawings of my Daisy Bubblegum characters and their symbolic plants, since they're already named after plants anyway. I did the villains, the members of the Acolytes of Chaos cult first, but I'll do the heroes as well eventually.

1. Dandelion - The cult's chosen one, who is being groomed to face the gods' chosen one, the protagonist Daisy. Isn't particularly thrilled about this, but loves playing the dramatic villain role.

Plants: Dandelion - 'Overcoming hardship'. This is mostly due to his shitty abusive dad, the leader of the cult, who is unimpressed by his son's attitude and laziness. Laurel - 'Ambition, success, renown'. Despite his dislike of his role, all he wants to do is live up his Dad's expectations and prove everyone wrong. Dahlia - 'Elegance and dignity'. This is how he sees himself, but he doesn't live up to that high estimation. Globe Amaranth - 'Immortal love, unchangeable'. This is about his romantic relationship with his second-in-command, Xan, the only one in the cult who actually believes in him.

2. Xan - The ancient god of disasters and illness who left the realms of the gods because he was unable to fulfil his role as the causer of death and destruction.

Plants: Rye - 'Love, fidelity'. This is about his relationship with Dandelion, who he is fiercely loyal to, because Dandelion was the first mortal to treat him with kindness. Gladiolus - 'Strength of character, honour, conviction'. Honour and conviction are very important to Xan. He really wants to do what's right, but he's been convinced by the cult that they are noble rebels fighting against the tyrannical rule of the gods. Green carnation - 'Love between two men'. Again, this is about his relationship with Dandelion. Ivy - 'Dependence, endurance, faithfulness'. Loyalty is another thing that is very important to Xan, but he has unfortunately pledged his loyalty to the wrong people, and once he is completely loyal to someone, he can't just turn it off.

Second part of the Daisy Bubblegum characters and their symbolic flowers. These are two more important members of the Acolytes of Chaos.

Violet is Dandelion's childhood friend who acts as his evil tech genius. She is totally jazzed for the end of the world that the Acolytes promised to bring about, and she'll do anything to make it happen faster…

Plants: Violet - 'Daydreaming'. Violet's ultimate dream is for the world to end, so she can revel in the death and chaos and destruction. The bringer of this apocalypse is the Acolytes' Chosen One, who is supposed to defeat the Gods' champion and remake the world in chaos for their god Echoris to finally rule. Violet wanted more than anything to be the Chosen One, but Echoris chose Dandelion as her champion, which pissed off Violet even more because she thinks he doesn't deserve it. She can't do anything about it, so she resorts to passive-aggressive sniping and nagging Dandelion to do better.

Begonia - 'Beware, a fanciful nature'. This is also about her desire for the chaos and destruction that the end of the world will bring. She's been raised in the cult all her life and she took everything they told her to heart, even though the 'end of the world' talk is just to scare people into submission and the higher-ups are more interested in ruling a new world after the destruction of the old one. This is probably going to go badly for the higher-ups and the world itself when she realises this…

Wolfsbane - 'Misanthropy'. This is the reason she wants the world to end. Violet looks down at everyone for not living up to her standards. She sees the rest of the world as liars and hypocrites who lack her honesty, drive, intelligence and purity of vision. She's looking forward to brutally torturing and murdering them all at the end of the world, including her 'best friend'…

Rowan is Dandelion's dad and the current leader of the Acolytes of Chaos. Outside of that he's a well respected businessman and was once the companion of the previous Champion of the Gods. He's a cold, pragmatic man who doesn't tolerate incompetence.

Plants: Rowan - 'Threshold, wards against sorcery'. Rowan's dream is a world without gods and magic. This conflicts with the Acolytes' loyalty to their god, but Rowan is powerful enough to force the higher-ups to follow his plan, while lying to the lower ranked members to keep them loyal. Echoris is still useful to him for now, but he's secretly figuring out a way to kill her and all the other gods.

Amaranth - 'Immortality'. This is why he wants the gods dead. He wants to become the only god of the new world, in control of all magic and tech. He saw the devastation that the gods and their champions have wreaked on the world and is determined to finally end the millennia-old war between Echoris and the other gods, destroy them and their champions and free the world.

Hollyhock - 'Ambition'. This is Rowan's principal drive. It was beaten into him by his wealthy and ambitious family at an early age and the desire to prove himself has haunted him throughout his life, pushing him to aid the Champion of the Gods and build his company with his tech prowess, and poisoning his interactions with his friends and family, including his son.

Hydrangea - 'Frigidity, apology'. Rowan is cold and cruel to everyone, but especially to the people closest to him. Dandelion was adopted for the purpose of forcing a candidate for the Chosen One and Rowan sees him as nothing but a tool that isn't functioning properly. He makes no apology for any of his cruelty or his betrayal of the Champion of the Gods and his ideals, but there is one person who he regrets hurting: the beautiful sorceress who accompanied him and the Champion, his childhood friend and only love, Bleeding Heart…

Top Femslash Ships Bracket: Seeding

As promised, we're back with a new bracket! However, we're doing things a little differently this time. Rather than taking the data for seeding directly from a ranked list, we want you guys to be a part of the seeding process!

This survey contains a list of over 100 ships, pulled from centreoftheselights's AO3 ship stats for 2023 and 2024, and Tumblr's year in review, as well as a few submissions that are not on either list but are considered iconic or historically important. It asks two questions: which ships have you heard of, and which ships do you view positively? The final seeding for the bracket will be based on a ratio of these numbers, from which we will rank the top 96!

A few notes regarding this survey:

Please answer as honestly as you can! Yes, that does mean going through a long list of ships twice in order to check all the relevant boxes, but such is the price we pay for accurate data.

Please only submit the survey once! While we normally delight in voter fraud, artificially boosting your favorite ship in this survey will only skew the results with no benefit; in fact, it could potentially hurt your chances in the actual bracket!

Do, however, feel free to reblog this post so we get a larger sample size.

The form does require that you be logged into a Google account; however, we are not collecting email addresses, and responses will be fully anonymous.
