Spinning Wheel - The Three Sisters

My piece for the Object Head Zine 2023 Edition. The theme was Historical Fiction so I decided to paint spinning wheels in different periods. We were allowed to post our whole piece a couple of months ago, but only remembered to post this now because of the KofiChallenge :'^) huhu

The smallest listing is a set of 1.5x1.5 inch quilted pins/magnets and the largest is a queen size quilt. Here are a few examples:

If you want a nifty alternative to using a Yuletide tree, save space, and a place to display pins, I can make a tree wallhanging for you. This is one I made for myself using colors I love. Halloween themed? Black and white? I can do that.

Here are a couple of my favorites. Visual drama is fantastic, especially for bland spaces. Why be bland (shades of oatmeal) when you can be bold (using colors)?

If you're nervous about design, just give me a theme or color palette. Or free reign and a size range. I also have finished quilt tops you can choose from for me to make into completed quilts for you.

Remember, quilts can serve many uses, from home decor to bedding and more. I know several pagans who use table runners and table mats for their altars! Displaying a wallhanging will help absorb echoes and even aid in insulation, much like tapestries. Mug rugs protect a surface from a hot mug/cup of tea, and coasters under hot candleholder can help protect the surface beneath them.

Commissions will close August 1st, or when I feel I have enough, giving me time to finish what I have and work on seasonal things.

I'm working on a new zine—Reckless Chants #27: to resist despair. (Yes, the subtitle is from the Operation Ivy song “Sound System.”) The stories in it are about my misspent youth, music and mayhem, Wisconsin and Chicago, growing up, despair, resistance, and punk. About old friends and old flames and queerness; shows I went to Back in the Day and shows I didn’t go to recently; about my attempts to still live as a weirdo punk artist despite having Adult Responsibilities and despite the world being, quite literally, on fire. Though it will be text-heavy, as per usual, there will also be various collages/pieces of Xerox art—including a pull-out centerfold!

Finally finished! This is a picture that took me a few days to finish. 😂😂 Warm tones are still used. Even if the two of them are on the island, there is still a ray of sunshine shining on them. It is important to find a medicine, but we can't ignore the growing relationship between the two. 😌😌
