Unlike a certain putrid and rotten bunch of people belonging to this House whose line thanks to the Goddess Syrax has died out, these girls are the best combination of two worlds.
And they would be more like HighGaryens due to their mom being a Targaryen who through her gorgeous daughters completely targified House Hightower as they were wed to the sons of Lyonel and Samantha, the sons of Martin and other Hightower cousins, thus taking over the entire House.
For me it would be like this:
- Jeyne HighGaryen who is Rhaena's rainbow baby after the loss of her first baby conceived from her first marriage to Corwyn Corbray, Jeyne was named for Rhaena's second mentor (the first one was Rhaenyra) who taught her about the importance of soft power.
- Valaena HighGaryen in honor of the mother of the Conquerors and for Rhaena's own mother Laena, honoring both the Velaryon and Targaryen sides of her family.
- Lianna Hightower I guess Rhaena would like to give her daughter a name that was both an ode to her Targaryen/Velaryon side and a new start.
- Jocelyn HighGaryen in honor of Rhaena's great-grandmother who was fiercely loyal and defensive of her family, who fought for the rights of Rhaena's grandmother.
- Daenaera HighGaryen because I think Rhaena will honor her sister-in-law just like she was honored as well, Daenaera loved her as an older sister and Rhaena saw in Daenaera a figure of a younger sister.
- Maegelle HighGaryen for Rhaena's great-aunt (the closest sister to Rhaena's paternal grandmother) Maegelle Targaryen, who played an important role in being a conciliator for her family and cared for the Smallfolk.
They would wear grey, because if you don't know it, grey is the actual color of House Hightower, search it.
They would bring back the study of alchemy and necromancy into this House.
Daemon would be so proud seeing his granddaughters took over the Hightowers and have turned them into beta-targaryens.
Garmund + Rhaena =
Tumblr media
Possible Targtower names:
Valaena mother of the conqueror and of course mother Laena
Jeyne for Jeyne Arryn who fostered Rhaena
Rosamund flower name for the reach and Garmund’s name
Daenaera kind of a stretch but she loved Queen Daenaera. I also like Daenys
Orea after Orys Baratheon and half Baratheon grandmother and Garmund’s father Ormund
Baeryssa pretty combo for Targtower common names for Baela
Rhaeys bringing back the Rhae- because Targaryens will never get rid of that

Never let team Black stans and Targ fanboys gaslight you to believe that house Hightower is an enemy of house Targaryen:
1) Before the conquest, Aegon and Visenya visited the Oldtown and spent time at the Citadel.
2) The Hightowers did not march to the Field of Fire, and surrendered without a fight.
3) Aegon's reign officially began in Oldtown after he was anointed and crowned by the High Septon (who was a Hightower) in the Starry Sept, and was celebrated by the people of the city as he rode over the city on Balerion.
4) House Hightower was one of the few houses that helped the Targaryens in the First Dornish War.
5) Aegon agreed to betroth his son Maegor to Ceryse Hightower when Ceryse's uncle suggested that Maegor should be wed to his niece, and look what F&B has to say about Maegor and Ceryse: "Maegor boasted to having consummated the marriage a dozen times the night of the wedding, and those who had seen the bedding agreed that Maegor was a lusty husband."
6) Maegor recognized Ceryse as the official Queen of Westeros, even though he had two more wives, and gave all of her lands and titles back to her.
7) When Rhaena Targaryen fled from Maegor, he sent a rider to Oldtown commanding Lord Hightower to behead Rhaella (who was training to become a Septa) as punishment for her mother's betrayal. Lord Hightower refused, and imprisoned the messenger instead.
8) Alicent fetched old Jaehaerys' meals, helped him wash and dress, and read to him. On her deathbed, she said: "I want to see my sons again, and Helaena, my sweet girl. Oh... and King Jaehaerys. I will read to him, as i did when i was little. He used to say i had a lovely voice." She didn't mention her father or her brother, but she mentioned Jaehaerys. That shows how much she loved him.
9) Rhaena Targaryen (Daemon's daughter) married Garmund Hightower, and had six daughters by him. As one of the few remaining heirs to the iron throne and the sister of the King, she had no reason to marry a third son and have not one, not two, but six daughters by him if she didn't love him.
10) They remained loyal to the Targaryens during the Robert's Rebellion.
11) Unlike Jaime Lannister and Barristan Selmy, Gerold Hightower remained loyal to Rhaegar till his last breath. He refused several opportunities to leave unharmed, and eventually died while he was defending Rhaegar's son.
12) Daenaerys thinks house Hightower is among the houses that will help her take back the iron throne. She assumes correctly because the Hightowers believe in a prophecy that says Oldtown would burn and its monuments would be cast down if they opposed the "Blood of the Dragon." That's why they gave full support to neither side during the First Blackfyre Rebellion, keeping a foot in both Targaryen and Blackfyre camps.

This should be the final scene from House of the Dragon:
Tumblr media
The extremely emotional reunion of Rhaenyra and Daemon’s sons.
Aegon III Targaryen married to Daenaera Velaryon.
Alyn Velaryon and Baela Targaryen as the Lord and Lady of Driftmark.
Rhaena Targaryen (the rider of the Blacks’ pride and joy, the dragon Morning) and her husband, Corwyn Corbray (Brave valeman and Team Black supporter).
Alicent Hightower’s horrific, well-deserved end and the treacherous Green line permanently ended.
A new beginning for the true members of House Targaryen.
And I want Rhaenyra’s theme to play in the background, just as it did in the first episode, because this is after all, her victory.

sorry to be the bearer of bad news but if you think aegon iii would have “healed from his trauma” with the daughter of his mother’s murderer then you’re delulu. the boy who wore black all his life? the boy that gave away jaehaera’s doll the first chance he got? the boy that was so discomforted by jaehaera’s presence that the maesters even noted how he was less discomforted by myrielle peake’s presence than jaehaera? it’s fine to have headcanons or whatever, but seriously. aegon iii would sooner ride a dragon than “heal” with the girl he was forced to marry.

“They should just keep Jaehaera with Aegon and get rid of Daenaera and give Daenaera’s kids with him to Jaehaera. It's a fitting ending for the Dance to bring the two branches of the dynasty back toge-”

One change from the book that I really want and hope to see in the later seasons is the destiny of Jaehaera Targaryen and Aegon III Targaryen.
Jaehaera was born from a loveless marriage and was raised in an very dysfunctional family. Not only her family was divided in two and she could feel the hate, but her life was ruined by a civil war.
At the age of six she witnessed the murder of her twin brother and almost the one of her younger brother Maelor, both her and her mother were threatened of rape and death. After that they weren’t the same, her mother distanced herself and she was mainly raised by her grandmother.Years later her younger brother will be brutally murdered and her own mother will kill herself leaving her alone.
At the end of the dance of dragons,Jaehaera is what remain of her parents. She becomes a tool in the hands of the men around her to bring back peace in the realm. She spends the rest of her days playing with her toys before her destiny will be the same as her mother.
Jaehaera deserved better, what had happened during blood and cheese forever changed her and shattered her pure innocent soul. She deserved to break the cycle of abuse,to survive the dance, something that she didn’t take willingly part of,and to be a good and diligent Queen along side Aegon the Younger who also deserved better.
As much as i like Daenaera,i wanted Jaehaera on the throne,to survive her trauma and taking strength from it making the realm a better place after the war.
I also really hope that Aegon will not abdicate and also learn how to use his own trauma and his mother memory to be a good king.Aegon that was sent away from home when he was a small child,he had almost lost his life and he had lost his brother Viserys.Witnessed the brutal death of his mother before his eyes and put on throne without being asked, used as a way to save the Targaryen dynasty and forced to marry the daughter of the man that killed his mother.
I really hope that in the show Jaehaera and Aegon the third will get a second chance,a better ending. To prove that the young generations are better than the old ones, that the children are better than the parents and that they are the ones to pay for the actions.
I hope that they will rule together and have a long and fruitful reign filled with love, joy, children and peace. They deserved it after what it was done to them.

Okay fuck it I'm done.
Remember that little rant I had a while ago about Jaehaera? And how she was just a little girl that deserved so much better?
Well today I saw this
Tumblr media
And now there's an even bigger rant incoming.
I'm just flabbergasted, I don't know what to say except are you really this petty?
This person on Twitter commissioned a wonderful portrait of Aegon III's family, which looks great, I really have nothing against the artist, he was just doing his job.
Buut, as that user says
"Note a certain Doll tossed aside on the left next to Aegon😏"
So yes, a team black stan was so mad at the mere suggestion that Daenaera would be cut from the ending of hotd that they commissioned a well known Asoiaf/f&b artist to draw Aegon's family with a little doll to remind us that Jaehaera is dead and thus no longer in the way.
I just have to say...
What is wrong with you? Seriously, I admit I've spent some money on hotd/asoiaf related things out of passion for the story, but I've never gotten to the point of commissioning art to spite people in the fandom that have an opinion I don't agree with.
Also, alright, you don't like the greens, that's fine! We all have our own tastes. But this? It's just sick. Wanting a fictional, traumatized 10 year old girl to be dead so badly you pay people to remind everyone that she's gone is on another level. Cause I firmly believe this was drawn only for that reason, not to actually show a wholesome family portrait.
I'm so done with these people. Do they ever go outside of their mom's basements? Have they ever touched grass? I don't think so, otherwise they'd spend their money for better things than celebrating a child's death.
This is the kind of team black person who will happily watch blood and Cheese happen and cheer when Jaehaeys is decapitated.
The sheer toxicity of this fandom is unbelievable. I genuinely haven't seen this amount of pettyness since the days before the aot ending.
Get a life, seriously.
P.s
I got this image from the r/hotdgreens sub on Reddit.

So this is major headcannon time, I decided that it was tradition for westerosi queens to design their own frames for their royal portraits. So first ones Rhaenys and Visenya opted for identical frames made of Valyrian steel, they were simple due to the rareness of the steel. Alyssa chose one made of silver seashells that she had collected throughout her life. Alyssane chose silver to reflect her dragon Silverwing and the favorite gems of her daughters. Aemma wanted to reflect her often forgotten Arryn ancestory. Alicent obviously went full Hightower while Rhaenyra chose a silver frame designed to look like Valyrian buildings with her dragon Syrax represented. Heleana based hers on a sketch that Rhaenyra had shown her as a young girl, opting to feature a garden wall from the red keep with motifs of her favorite insects. Jaehaera was unable to design her own frame. Daenaera chose a pearl adorned frame devoid of any dragon symbolism in respect to her husband. Daena wasn’t allowed a frame by her husband Baelor. Naerys reflected her faith with a Seven-pointed star frame. Myriah used Dornish gold in her frame. Aelinor designed a wooden frame, she did not want an expensive frame as she never felt like she was truly Queen. Betha used the wood from a Weirwood tree to reflect her houses northern history. Shaera was fascinated with the history of her house and after much debate was allowed to have a frame made of dragonbone. Rhaella’ s frame was a small rebellion of her own, the shape the first of its kind with purple flowers as a subtle nod to her childhood infatuation with Bonfier Hasty. Cersei Lannister has yet to design her own frame, many believing that Robert Baratheon forbid her from doing so. the portraits were saved by a young servant who spirited them to the citadel where they are now stored. Jaehaera and Rhaella’s portraits were painted from memory, both from their weddings, Jaehaera’s reign was too short to have a painting commissioned, and Rhaella was forbidden by her husband to have her portrait painted out of fear that she would somehow hurt any babe she carried.

If you had the chance to change something about the dance of the dragons (TV show or book), what would it be? For example, how a character dies, which team a house is on,or an entire character personally. How would you change it to make the story better, in your opinion?♥️🖤💙💚
House Velaryon would be split 50/50, with Vaemond's family joining the Greens in hopes of restoring Driftmark to people with trueborn Velaryon heirs.
The Vale would be split as well, and Jeyne Arryn would have to bargain with the Royces of Runestone (Rhea's people) to support Rhaenyra. Actually I'd make it that clashes break out in the Vale. Despite of the arrival of Joffrey and little Aegon's dragons, Rhaena would try to quell the Royces doubts with diplomatic talks, giving her more to do, and introducing her to her first husband Corywn Corbray in the process.
Instead of having Garmund Hightower sent away to be squire I'd have him remain in Oldtown, participating in politics as the Dance takes a toll on his father Ormund and his brothers. I'd actually do an Oldtown subplot in the show showing us the politically adept man that Rhaena marries in the future, quelling tensions at a time of instability and House Targaryen's dwindling power.
Helaena would participate more in government just as she was hinted to do in the books. I'd show why she was Beloved of Smallfolk and have her fly Dreamfyre more often, as well as make her more active in her relationships with her family members. She and Aegon would have a marriage of constant trials, she would give advice to her brothers and be a companion to Alicent constantly, accompanying her in the halls and encouraging her often when she's down. I feel like her bond with Alicent was underrepresented in the show.
I would highlight Aegon's night life, show his understanding of the outside world from which his family is sheltered behind the walls of the Keep. This would be good build up for when his Dragonstone arc is portrayed. We need to understand how he easily seduced the population of Dragonstone into turning against Rhaenyra.
I'd expand Alys' arc by building a connection between her and Larys. This would make her relationship with Aemond complex and would get you questioning her motives and loyalty. In the end she chooses Aemond out of sincerity, while Larys focuses on Aegon as his more malleable chess piece.
Alicent and Criston would have a romantic entanglement, but only after Viserys' death and Helaena becomes the new queen. This would make his death on his way back to her more tragic and darken Alicent's heart towards Rhaenyra.
Daeron would be present for Jaehaerys' funeral. Aegon would summon him as King, despite of Alicent's concerns that he's better off protected in Oldtown. After Aemond becomes Regent he sends Daeron to tackle the rising rebellions in the Reach against Aegon.
Vaemond's family strike an uneasy alliance with Alyn and Corlys after the war. In return Vaemond's son demands his daughter Daenaera be given to Aegon iii as wife. Rhaena oversees this sensitive negotiations and manages to strike a deal in the end.
Aemond would refuse to leave Harrenhal when Criston asks him to, because Alys was pregnant (he doesn't tell Criston this) and he fears for her safety should his family learn of her. At this time, Borros could still be looking to betroth Aemond to his daughter Floris as a strict condition for him to add to the Greens army. Aemond perceives this, and declines to go immediately to retake King's Landing. He wants to plan first before making a jump (the Alys bewitching him to abandon his family thing is too juvenile for me).

Post-Dance AU (because I hate how George decided to completely eradicate the Greens *cough* Alicent’s *cough* line)
Jaehaera survives the assassination attempt by Unwin Peake because that poor girl did not deserve that horrific end and that’s that.
She and Aegon III bond over time, because these traumatized kids deserve some happiness and you know what? Maybe they are the only two people in the world right now who understand even a semblance of what the other has gone through (Aegon watched his mother die, Jaehaera watched her twin brother be slaughtered) and maybe they both recognize that neither of them is responsible for what their families did to each other so why should they resent one another?
Over time they become a great comfort to each other. On the days where one is particularly gloomy, the other sits by them and holds their hand and they are content to sit in silence together and neither needs to say what they’re feeling because the other already knows.
They are both very close with Gaemon Palehair. He and Aegon are close for the same reasons as within canon, while Jaehaera believes that Gaemon truly is her half-sibling, her last remaining brother.
Eventually, Alyn Velaryon brings Viserys II home from Essos, but the boy comes alone (a 12-year-old boy married to a 19-year-old woman, yeah I think the fuck not, not in my history, and besides even if they had been closer in age Larra Rogare hated Westeros so let her stay in Essos like she wanted and live her own life there and be happy).
Like in canon, Aegon is somewhat neglectful of his wife and friend in the wake of his brother’s return, but Jaehaera and Gaemon understand his actions. Anyway, they still have each other for company. Viserys is incredibly distrustful of Jaehaera, and Aegon pleads with Viserys to be more understanding of their marriage and the comfort they have found in each other.
Aegon decides to hold a feast to celebrate Viserys’s return. Viserys spends most of the festivities with Baela and Rhaena, preferring not to fraternize with the daughter of the man who killed his mother. In the company of his sisters is Daenaera Velaryon (aged up in to be closer in age to Viserys because an 11-year-old boy and a 6-year-old girl? It’s a no from me).
Daenaera manages to cheer Viserys with her happy nature, and he’s quite taken by how pretty she is. Unwin Peake, having never been exposed as the one behind Jaehaera’s assassination attempt (as is also the case in canon) brings his daughter to the feast in the hopes that she will catch the eye of Viserys, but Viserys has already taken a shine to Daenaera, ruining his plans once again.
The pair begin to exchange letters and (like Aegon and Jaehaera) bond over their losses. Viserys tells Aegon about his correspondence with Daenaera, and when Aegon tells Jaehaera, she decides to invite Daenaera to court as her lady-in-waiting. Viserys is delighted, and slowly begins to warm to Jaehaera.
As in canon, Aegon’s removal of the dragon eggs from the Red Keep causes a rift between the brothers. Unwin Peake continues to plot treason, conspiring to kill Aegon and Jaehaera so that Viserys may become King and take his daughter as his bride. But if his daughter is to become Viserys’s Queen, Daenaera Velaryon must also be removed. It is no secret by now that Viserys is very taken with the the girl, and intends to marry her.
Jaehaera and Daenaera eat the canonical poisoned tarts during a private dinner organized for the four. Aegon and Viserys narrowly avoid poisoning as they are delayed by a Small Council meeting. As in canon, Gaemon dies, devastating both Aegon and Jaehaera. The rift between Aegon and Viserys is mended as they help their respective ladies recover. Aegon and Jaehaera comfort each other through the loss of Gaemon, and Viserys proposes marriage to Daenaera, which she accepts. Oh, and Unwin Peake is finally exposed and executed (I still cannot believe this man escaped justice in canon, but not on my watch).
The four form a strong unit within the Red Keep and are, well, as happy as four traumatized young adults can be. They finally have the family each was deprived of at such a young age. Aegon eventually names Viserys his Hand, Jaehaera gives birth to Aegon’s five children, and Daenaera gives birth to Viserys’s three.
But unfortunately, canonical events must still come to pass. Aegon and Jaehaera pass away within months of each other in 157 AC; Daenaera dies some years later, and Viserys becomes his stern canonical self in the wake of her death. The crown passes from Aegon, to Daeron, to Baelor, to Viserys himself, to Aegon IV, who legitimizes the Blackfyres- who are now the descendants of both the Blacks and the Greens.

Let’s face it, when GRRM wrote the ending of the Dance, he put a pause on the whole Aegon and Jaehaera union, and realized that something was not right here.
Sure, it’s an “arranged marriage for peace” trope like the one from The Wars of the Roses…but kind of unnecessary (since the Blacks won), and also kind of disappointing because it sends the following message: “Usurpers and traitors should be rewarded.”
Otto and Alicent Hightower wanted their bloodline on the Iron Throne. They schemed, seduced and then started a whole war for it. Making Jaehaera queen (and have her potentially give birth to Aegon’s children) would give these two opportunists a win.
And then he thought about Aegon III, a broken child, forced in wedlock with the girl of the mad usurper who murdered his mother right in front of him.
And then, GRRM asked himself, who would deserve the honor of being Aegon III’s Queen and mother his children?
1. A girl from House Velaryon, a House who has always been on the side of the Blacks (even after Rhaenyra’s death), and fought for the true heir to the throne honorably and faithfully?
or
2. The last girl from the defeated enemy party, who had Hightower blood coursing through her veins?
The answer is pretty clear. And as such, thinking about granting Aegon III happiness, GRRM created Daenaera Velaryon, the always smiling little queen, who contributed to healing the boy’s broken heart.
This is why Daenaera Velaryon is Aegon III’s true wife and Queen in canon and why her presence in his life is essential.

real talk but jaehaera only has stans because they stan her womb. crazy how they’ll throw a fit about alicent and helaena being “poor, innocent victims” then say they want to subject jaehaera to the same situation. girlie was mentally unstable, she would not be a good mother or queen consort.
