One of Rhaenyra's biggest opps (in HOTD) really was her own father. Because how are you going to proclaim your daughter as heir, only to then marry her best friend and have four kids, three sons, in an environment that is against women already as is but even more so with one sitting on the Iron Throne? And then, not only, do you not prepare her for anything political but scold her publicly, which isn't good for her image, and just....hardly do anything to aid her until you're on your last leg? And yet there are still fans saying he was a "great dad" and that he "did all he could". HA, I THINK NOT!

Bestie. . .they have. . .the same dad???? They have the same mum???? Literally all of the Bridgerton children except Hyacinth watched Edmund die? They all experienced Violet's immense sorrow? He and Violet obviously have a very close connection and so of course he saw her wilting (plant pun, if you were wondering) or at least knew about it and has responded with being particularly gentle with her?

Trauma shaped all the Bridgertons. Colin was a young boy when his dad passed and everyone in the family experienced an immense grief and, unlike his brothers, Colin was twelve, he wasn't the heir, he wasn't the spare, and had no responsibility but to go to school (sent off elsewhere after his dad passed away, thus disconnected from his circle of support and family) and figure out how to be a man from strangers and rakes. Literally no one had space for his grief and sensitivity? He even cries alone in his bedroom in Season 1 and stops talking about his travels after he gets made fun of in Season 2 and claims that hardly anyone replied to his letters in Season 3 like what do you mean he has no trauma related to love?

Colin was right there on the steps watching his father cradled in his mother's arms as she wept over his sudden passing. Of course he has trauma related to love? Colin's entire arc was about how he only felt he could be cared about if he was pleasing the people around him or being useful in some way and putting on a mask and a persona so he wouldn't be hurt by how much no one else wanted the real, messy, authentic him around? His mum and dad lived a love story and Colin watched it fall to pieces just as all the Bridgertons did, he just internalized it differently. His entire family was grieving so he decided to be useful by offering levity where he could, especially as the brother raised predominately with his sisters, Eloise and Daphne.

And yet despite the fact that this was such a huge tragedy of his childhood, Colin still is incredibly emotionally available and as soon as he realized what he felt for Penelope was romantic, he takes initiative and he cuts into her dance with Debling and he chases after her carriage so he can confess that he can't stop thinking about her and he's not at all angry at her, she doesn't vex him, it isn't frustration at her- it's torture because he is so damn besotted with her that he dreams of her and the kiss they shared haunts him but it's torture he embraces because he's a romantic soul who is incredibly emotionally brave and he cares about Penelope more than he cares about his ego or image or past hurts.

The True Heir

Okay, if you watch to catch up to this AU, (Which I am writing a story for), look at this link and look back at it's many reblogs. LINK.

The main jest, Jack Fenton is the supposed dead son of Ra al Ghul. He, with the help of his love, Maddie, faked his death and ran away from the LOA. The two went to university and continued on with their lives studying the Occult and raising their kids. Away from the LOA of course.

Jack always made his clothing with extra weight to ensure his steps are always heard, and dub him, a bumbling fool to many. He does get a kick out of it whenever his kids groan in annoyance or look at him fondly, being proud that he's their dad.

He and Maddie have taught their children self-defense and how to take care of themselves. In the possible event that their past will come back to haunt them. When they found out that Danny became Phantom, his fighting style (@hdgnj, heheheh) was a dead gave away. They didn't say anything. They wanted their kids to come clean with them.

Jack started to create weapons and items he hopes will help his kids and their friends in their adventures. The Booo-merang was created with the intention of always finding Danny if... something were to happen.

Move forward a bit...

The family and team Phantom are in Gotham for a Ghost Convention. Talia see's Danny and has a flashback to her supposedly dead brother... Talia found out that her brother is alive.

The true heir of the League of Assassins.

That's where things get interesting for one Damian Wayne. If Jack is the true heir.... what does that make him? Who will take over if Jack is well... indisposed? Does he even have heirs?

Here comes one Jasmine Fenton... Oh, a seemingly normal looking human right? Right? No.... no, no, no....

If there is someone that all ghosts fears, the Ghost King's sister and the one that promised to always look after him. The Flaming Knight, the protector of one, Ghost King Danny Phantom.

Chapter two

The next morning I wake up from a pitiful attempt to sleep.

Kind of hard with a dragon breathing down your neck.

It's still early, the sun barely up but after a week hiding in this cave and hunting in a selected area it looks and sounds like most people left Aretia. With other words I can start hunting in a larger area, after all it's difficult to keep a dragon satisfied.

Brennan is still asleep but Marbh is awake so he can give the message to him. I take my bow, arrows and my bag and leave.

If I'm quiet enough I should be able to get a good stack of food for us and the orange dragon that now lives in a cave way too small for it's ego. Most animals should still be out and not hiding, especially since it seems most people left. Animals will notice the silence and appear more.

And animals guaranteed, enough for the three of us. I collected all the food by a tree closer to the cave so I don't have to keep dragging it all back in one go from a farther distance. I look in the direction of the cave, judging by the sun it should be around midday. Slowly one by one I put the animals in the huge bag I took with me, the one my dad packed for me In case something would go wrong... I stare at the bag, the memory still fresh in my mind.

"A survival bag?" I ask my dad, a small smile on my face as I raise my brows at him. "For what? You wanna do another camp trip? Friendly reminder that last time didn't go exactly as we planned." My voice holds amusement. But he looks... dead serious.

"I made it for you in case something goes wrong." My face falls. What is he talking about? "I... I don't understand. What could go wrong? I know we've had a few... things go wrong, but our army is in place. We're prepared." The way he looks at me says he hasn't been completely honest, which makes sense as Xaden and all the other children are gone, moved to a safe place that no one knows about.

"We might have put the army in place but that does not mean we will win when they attack. I'm not risking you getting captured. I have a proposal for you-"

I snap out of my trance, boot steps that crunch leaves and branches making me stand in high alert. It's not Brennan, it can't be. I pull an arrow and lay it on my bow, but I don't aim just yet. From where I'm standing no one can see me through the high bushes by the tree. So whoever is on the other side won't see me. More crunches of leaves. More than one person. I crouch down near the bushes when I hear them talking.

"I don't care how long it takes, I want you to find her." A deep, gruff voice says. "This place is ash. If she was still alive she would've burned when we burned her home." Another one responds, he sounds more on the frightened side. "She's his daughter, his heir and first in line, I want her to watch it happen." The first person bites out again. "Find her." Then all boot steps sound farther and farther away. I lower my bow, trying my best not to make a sound.

They're looking for me. Who? lies beyond me but someone is looking for me.

I'm back by the cave when the sun slowly starts to fall.

Brennan is awake and sitting up against a rock, aside from small conversations we don't talk that much. I suppose he is also going through his own grief.

I drop the bag, making Brennan flinch. He must have been deep in thought. He looks up at me, his messy auburn curls sticking out everywhere. I know he's hungry but I know he won't voice it.

I get to work quietly. Unpacking, skinning and roasting the animals.

Good thing about having a dragon in here. Unlimited fire. And I don't have to put in a single effort except ask.

It's almost a routine now, I hunt, come back, unpack and make the animals ready, Marbh roasts them, we share and at the end of the night I put the fire out and we sleep.

Two nights later Brennan and I sit quietly, eating, while Marbh enjoys some bigger meat I found. Your welcome.

"He always talked about you." Brennan's quiet, rough voice breaks through the fog in my mind. I look at him, my face not showing a single emotion of what I'm feeling.

"Naolin. He always talked about you." He is quiet for a moment and then continues. "Every time he received your letters, or when he wrote one for you. He would always talk about you. Memories, things that reminded him of you. When we sat outside watching the stars..."

A part of my heart cracks, I had kept Naolin from my Thoughts, not wanting to mourn now, I had to stay alive, I can't do both.

I don't respond. I continue eating quietly, not wanting to let my thoughts wander to too painful things.

Over the following days Brennan and I find ourselves talking more, simple topics nothing too deep that could possibly open healing wounds. I managed to get him out of the cave yesterday to get some fresh air. We walked to a lake with a giant carrot following us. We sat down, enjoying the quiet sounds of the water.

With a dragon breathing down on me, cozy.

We're nearing two weeks here, we're both tired but it's too risky going to the open mountains near Riorson house, who knows what's waiting for us there.

I didn't go hunting today, there was no need as I managed to get enough for a few days. It was an opportunity to actually get some sleep that I couldn't deny.

Somewhere in the evening I feel two hands shaking me slowly. I open my eyes, easily recognizing Brennan's face. He looks slightly panicked and before he can say something I hear an extra pair of Boot steps. I immediately take my bow that had been laying right next to me, an arrow close by as I aim at the figure. Was it the person who had been looking for me days prior?

I hold my aim, my eyes adjusting to the light. The figure doesn't move, it holds its hands up in, surrender? Peace?

My eyes finally adjust to the light. My eyes widen slightly as I take him in. My bow lowers and my hands shake slightly.

"Felix?"

Aloe AU Concept

Julius Miles Arc was not a dull man, however he was known to make the occassional mistake. Deciding to follow the tradtions of his family in teaching their male heirs the way of the Birds & Bee... Was perhaps the biggest of said blunders.

In his defense it was how his father taught him, so yes, he would admit, after a spledid camping trip he may have brought his son to the redlight district of Mistral's lower ring.

He was not however about to risk his son's safety, no Jaune was to become a man, so he would become one in the greatest brothel he could find.

Lien was for once not a concern as he was willing to shell out as much as needed to make sure Jaune left the occassion filled with a new life experience and just as much pride.

The place was spledid, and the women exceptional, why, if he didn't have a wife was was almost constantly breaking his pelvis he might've been tempted.

And his boy had his pick of the lot of them, oh how the other men waiting to buy their own time one of said women. Having to wait till his son had made his choice, Julius having put down extra so Jaune could quite literally have his pick.

He would admit to being suprised... Afterall he did not think his son would pick the Receptionist... He didn't mean to sound rude but well... She did look rather worn-out and... 'Experienced' even compared to most courtesans.

His reason was that the woman Aloe, was 'very pretty' he'd admit her eyes were a darwing shade of burgendy, or would've been where they not so off puttingly dull and and her hair messy and unkempt as it was was a unique green...

Though the real reason was obvious as Jaune's eyes flickered between the Faunus woman's damaged but still pretty insteactoid wings and massive, swelling breast. One appealed to his innocent nature, the other to his developing masculine desires.

The Receptionist, surprisingly enough actually agreed, despite no longer working as a escort.

And it had been set, Jaune had left with her confused, flustered and embaressed, and come back a little more brave and proud of himself, a bit of confidence clear in his eyes and a pep in his step...

Is what should have occured...

No, no, no... Instead they could quite literally hear his son becoming a man. Aloe as it turned out had chosen a room without soundproofing, seemingly she was well known for her pranks and lack of shame.

He stood there, with the women and other customers... Listening, it should've been only a half hour at most... It had been several. And that wasn't even the worst of it.

It was not how the other men had gone from snickering at his son for his inexpereince to looking ashamed of themselves as they heard the woman two hours later actually moaning, yelling and even begging his son's name.

It hadn't been the way the women had approached him hoping to see if the dad was as good as his genius soin apparently. No... It was when Jaune spoke.

When his little, innocent, naive son told the woman she would be his wife. When he told her to have his children...

He knew then, he fucked up, because a Arc went back on their word, even in the heat of passion.

Jaune woke up as the bullhead finally landed, his head in his wives lap, Aloe, one a Mistralian prostitute, turned receptionist then turned mother of his son and daughter. Jaune got up stretching, ignoring the people looking at him, or to be more precise his wife. A mother Aloe might be, but reserved she was not. Wearing a eye catching and frankly slutty outfit.

On some level he knew it was bad, but hey, if she followed the norm they would've never met right... His dad would've never trained him, after he asked him to so he could protect his family. Jaune might've tried sneaking into Beacon frankly.

But now he didn't even need to do that, heck a part of him didn't even want to be a Huntsman, he had children to raise, and provide for. A wife to love, he'd be content living the life of a farmer, and Aloe could accept that, but... She'd made it clear that he shouldn't just settle for a average life.

So he was here, trying to live out his childhood dream, at the very least she was right if he could fight off Grimm better the family would be safer, and Anself could always use another huntsman...

Girls cooed and awe'd at his children, Teal and Jasmine were adorble after all, his son having a pair of antenna and just the prettiest blue eyes in the whole wide world. His toddler Faunus son was too much for the girls to endure the cuteness of.

His daughter though was off limits, little jasmine, four months old, and looking every bit like a little precious fairy plucked straight outta the fairytales. Some might have worried he would've dropped her while he sleep, but that was never gonna happen. Getting outta the bullhead he manged to catch a girl getting... Blown up.

He really couldn't help himself, handing Aloe Jasmine before he went off to check the occurance, finding a girl in the crater. And like that he made a new friend.

Aloe would've never considered something like this in the cards for her. Motherhood, happily married, a life with litte to no worries... But that's exactly was exactly the life she was living.

She owed Jaune, no her husband everything, she was under no delusions, wasn't obssessed with him... Well, unwarrentldly obssessed, no, Jaune Arc had earned he devotion.

She knew what she was, who she was, and where she came from, she, was a whore, born in the lowest cast in Mistral at the ditrest corners of it's city. A Faunus with a impossible to hide trait filled in a den of raciest. Her mom having died, maybe from a overdose, possibly by a scored customer or maybe even at the hand of her own pimp.

She didn't really remember, she was too little to really recall.

But it left her to raise herself, and in that sorta enviorment you could only really do one thing. So she did, she sold herself, and she sold herself well. moving up and outta the lowest ring to just a low one, choosing a brothel she could trust. Making a life for herself that didn't make her crave death like so many of the others in her line of work.

No, she simply didn't care about anything, about herself... About her waste of a life, she was as content as street trash could be. At least their had been moments of bliss, thankfully her pipe was her only drug, she wasn't into harder stuff like others had been.

She was... content to just die like that, not live, what she did was difently not living.

Not until that little boy on the cusp of manhood came into her life and picked her. It still brought a smile to her face, his cute flustered expression.

He didn't see her for what she was, didn't see the worn-out, used-up animal whore her other customers had saw before she moved unto introducing the girls instead of serving herself up. With teasing, and being bred by her husband while the other men in the village looked at her with desire while she brutally and slying ruined their lives for it. But, Jaune deserved more, he'd stepped up at every corner and then some. Learned to farm, to fight from his dad and even learning how to lead the village for the eventual day he had to step up.

He even learned about Faunus rights, and the struggles her people went though... He actually knew more about her people and culture then she did now. The idea of his son and daughter living in a world where they could be discrimnated against seeming to infuriate him.

She, she loved him, not at first, but it had happened fast... So much so she wanted to give back. And this was how, by supporting the dream he never talked about, that she knew he'd be more then willing to throw away for his family.

And well that wasn't all... She was getting up their in years, she was closer to his moms age then his after all... And Mistral had plenty of different life styles then simple monogomy. If some of those sorry excuses for men could have a mistress or three why shouldn't Jaune. Ture, he would never cheat on her, but she had plans around that, Huntsman fought side by side, grew close as family.

If she worked her magic maybe she could make certain... Arrangements, and beside she already had candidate or two. The blonde with breast as big as her own who went all dowey eyed over her babies, her kid sister who he was fast friends with. The 'Secretly' Faunus who looked at her and Jaune warmly as he lovingly cared for his Faunus kid. Not to even mention the spartan and literal bunnygirl

Heck maybe she was reading to much into it but even the Schnee seemed to be a bit to intense with Jaune when they argued. Maybe she could get her dear husband a personal, private and exclusive brothel of his own. Filled with girls who'd just love to be his personal whores.

I think soya is a pretty interesting character... I set out intending to write this about him, but it ended up being more general

kyora seems to have many children, but there's 3 he clearly values more than the rest: soya, hakuri, tenri

soya is 5 years older than hakuri. it's interesting. it's a pretty big age difference for manga siblings, I think.

from how he acts, I get the impression soya was loved and put above the rest as "special" for years. he's pretty confident in the things he does, and doesn't seem to be so fixated on conforming and doing everything "for the family" like everyone else we see. after all, you can't be a leader if all you know is following directions.

but then hakuri was born, and, a year later, tenri...

do you see soya there in the background? if you haven't thought about it before, it's worth taking another look. soya is always in the background in these flashbacks. he's there, but he's not acknowledged. he's an afterthought.

look at the panel of them at the funeral. tenri and hakuri are in kyora's arms. soya wants to be in the inner circle, but he can't.

sure, hakuri is treated like an idiot now. no one respects him and he's considered trash... but I think he really was the one being raised to be the next heir, once upon a time.

he's goofy so it's easy to think he's dumb, but look at how he acts in battle... he's really a genius, and I don't think kyora would've missed that. in one day, he picked up so many techniques he's never used before in his life. he has a great ability to understand how other people work. see: syncing up with chihiro flawlessly, trusting that his dad would hold out until the end, using himself as bait for soya...

hakuri's also very brave and proactive. even though he was powerless, he tried to escape with the ice girl... and after what happened with that, he still left on his own. he saved a little girl and tried to fight the yakuza, and approached chihiro himself even though chihiro was in the middle of a yakuza killing spree... then he took hiyuki's attack head on...

alright, alright, that's enough hakuri praise. I love him though. I could probably talk about him forever

kyora's hands shake when he was about to kill hakuri. he says it's from rage, but I don't think that's really all he was feeling. love and hate...

if kyora never had any love for him at all, I don't think he would have let him run away when he could have just teleported him back any time... and would he have ever felt like this if hakuri didn't matter to him?

it really seems like hakuri was someone kyora put his hope into until it seemed like hakuri couldn't do sorcery at all... it even seems like hakuri was given more leniency than other sazanami when it came to learning.

we're told sazanamis are expected to be able to focus spirit energy by age 8, and to use isou by 12. kyora gave up on hakuri at 12, but that's 4 years of extra focus when he didn't show any ability at all the entire time...

...and I think all this is why hakuri is treated so badly, and why soya hates him so much. soya knows he's just the backup. and the one meant to take on the role he's been given is right here, a complete failure

he can't get angry at his dad for treating him like this, but he can get angry at hakuri... and the rest of the family can be angry at hakuri for "letting down" kyora as well, so he becomes the perfect punching bag

I think soya was already bullying hakuri before hakuri became considered a failure, but only in small ways that he could have gotten away with, teasing him, annoying him, pretending it was all out of "love". this might have been one of the reasons why hakuri didn't show any sorcery ability... or maybe he was just a late bloomer... or maybe both!

and the abuse just ramped up higher and higher once nothing was stopping him

now, tenri... the youngest ever member of the tou. he's special, but he doesn't think for himself. he follows directions absolutely. he was never set up to be a leader, and so I doubt soya ever bothered messing with him.

tenri exists so that there's no space for soya as either the strongest nor the leader. I think this is also one of the reasons why soya is so unhappy when he's told he's going to be the next head. if tenri could be the next head, he could at least be happy knowing he was the strongest, but he isn't

the way tenri acts is also good contrast to how soya and hakuri behave.

I don't have much to say about him beyond that. he plays his role well and that is all

How would the boys react to Mika being pregnant? Would they know before her (I feel like James would) and what kind of fathers do you think they’d be?

Well they would all be happy by default. It seems to be in the succubus instinct to REALLY wanna further your lineage so, naturally they would all want this on a genetic level.

However. Mentality always beats genetics. Let's go into that.

If any guy could know that a girl was prego before the girl herself, James would in fact be that guy. I think of all of them he would be the most.... pleased? I guess? I feel like that's not the right word but happy isn't the word I'm looking for either. He was the crowned prince. Other than ruling the kingdom well, having an heir was probably the highest priority he was taught. Plus he does dedicate a good chunk of his life to making sure his brothers are happy and successful in life. It would be natural for him to be a family man.

Though as a father, one hurdle he would force himself to get over is his emotional distance. He knows that he's not the most emotionally open and that was fine when it was just Mika and she seemed to understand but he's aware that his judgmental nature and distance would negatively affect his child so he would work that out to give his child the best chance of a good life. On a positive though? That child is gunna be educated as fuck! They are going to read higher level books as a teen than most people do ever. Easy ticket to a stable life.

I feel like Erik would have a feeling but also after the events of Demon War, he would be a little doubtful. He says himself that he would be happy if Mika was the mother of his child so he would happy with the pregnancy, his only concern would be for Mika's health and safety. I kinda joked about this in a previous post but because of the whole "demons are born with tiny horns" thing, that could probably scrape up Mika's insides especially since -if the kid is born with horns like Erik's or his mother's- that shit is coming out of the sides of their head. So O U C H.

As a father though, I can see Erik being very doting possibly to the point of mildly spoiling the child. He wants to give his child all the love and freedom his mother denied him, giving them the opportunity to do any activity they could ever want regardless of how it seems socially. He would essentially be raising his opposite for better and for worse.

Sam would absolutely NOT be able to tell. He probably didn't even think it was possible. He would be shocked but happy. I don't think he sees himself as the fatherly type but he's more than willing to learn. His concerns will change based on what route you're on. If you're on the King Sam route, his concern would be the race of the child. Sure Mika was turned into a succubus but how much of that changed her genetic makeup? Would she make succubus children or human children? And, the more concerning part, how would the kingdom react? They barely accepted Mika as their queen, they would NOT accept human children as their future rulers. Sam would rather not have to fight his entire kingdom, yknow?

By contrast, if you went down the default good route, Sam couldn't give less of a fuck about race if you paid him to. Now his concern is how he's gunna raise the kid. Royalty gives you structure, without that he has to freestyle.

As a father, I can see Sam as kind and soft but only with his wife and daughters. Yes I said "daughters", I made a mother's day drawing that shows Mika and Sam having twin girls. (So like double OUCH on the birth for Mika) Sam is your typical overprotective dad type. He wants his girls to be safe so he will protect them with his life. He would also teach his daughters self defense so they can protect themselves once they're grown.

Matthew would also not be able to tell. If Mika gets morning sickness, Matthew would be more concerned that she's caught something from work. Though when he is told, he will be SQUEALING with happiness. He would absolutely be the happiest of the five to be a dad. It's far beyond "biological need", he genuinely wants to be a parent. Mika is not lifting a goddamn finger for any of the chores or physical work. Hell even Simon Tabby causes fewer issues to not stress Mika out.

As a father, he would be fun loving. His child would never be bored or feel neglected as long as he's around..... However, like Mother, like Son. It's not that Matthew is anywhere near as crazy as Aezera but he would probably share a few of her values on family and magical education. He would prioritize the child's happiness and self expression while also making sure that they are well trained and well educated especially in magic. After all, even if the child doesn't show immediate promise, he had a runt phase too. They just need some training. This is the exact way Aezera raised Matthew, with Matthew just being not invasive or horribly controlling. Definitely an improvement, still room to improve though.

I would say "Damien is a mindreader" but he isn't at this point! YAY! So he might not figure it out until he's told. Now, I think Damien would be happy, however after seeing a video from Michaela, I realize he would have more of a nuanced response. His anxiety would take hold as he questions if they even have the physical and emotional resources to care for a child. On top of that, race comes back as an issue but it's now the opposite. Has Damien's DNA changed when he was truly turned human or would he produce demon kids? How would two humans deal with human-demon hybrids? He would be terrified of any of his kids gaining his mind reading seeing how miserable it made him and he would probably also be concerned from Mika's safety with the horns thing again. However, when his anxieties calm down, he would show more of that happiness. The best part of the next nine months would be Mika and Damien getting to set up their child's room and fill it with everything new parents need.

As a father, I think Damien would be a sweet but stern dad. Teaching his kids morals and kindness so they can grow up to be empathetic people. As much as his last interaction with his mother broke his heart, from how heartbroken he was we can tell that Damien's mother had a close relationship with Damien once. I think he would try to reform that relationship with his child and mimic all the things he loved about his mother hoping that his kid could view him the way he viewed his mother. Where I think his fault would lie would be his slightly possessive nature and his PTSD. That would extend to his children and may make him stifle them in an attempt to keep them away from danger, real and perceived. Though an honest conversation, either from the child or Mika, would help.

2. Rhaenyra wasn't responsible for the dispute between the children; she didn't conspire against or speak ill of Alicent's children. It was Alicent who insulted, conspired against, and belittled Rhaenyra's children. Alicent also didn't want her children to associate with Rhaenyra's. What's the worst Rhaenyra did or said about Alicent's children before episode 7? Calling Aegon Alicent Hightower's son?

The part about "Mommy's babies can do no wrong" is quite amusing when you remember that Alicent deliberately tried to conceal Aegon's involvement in the pig's prank when she complained to Viserys, and she only attempted to blame Rhaenyra's children. She also didn't care that Aemond was being bullied by Aegon; basically, she said he could continue to bother his brother but only him. That seems like a "Mommy's babies can do no wrong" behavior.

4. Alicent's children aren't prepared for war; she didn't even have a plan for when Viserys died. If they were prepared, they wouldn't have made the mistakes they did.

5.Fans of that woman must stop believing that a lack of fatherly love justifies their children becoming rapists and murderers. There are people in both real life and the ASOIAF universe who have been through worse things than "my dad doesn't love me" and aren't that kind of human trash. These people must also stop acting as if Alicent's children are homeless people on the street with no privilege because they are the most privileged children in Westeros. The fact that their dad doesn't show them love and doesn't make them heirs doesn't take away the fact that they are princes who can do what they want. Alicent had in no way prepared her children for the war she decided to start. What did she really expect? That if they steal the throne, Rhaenyra won't do anything in retaliation? That DAEMON (you know, that man considered the most dangerous in Westeros, with experience in war, with a dragon experienced in war, an excellent warrior and rider) wouldn't do anything in retaliation? That they would just bend the knee, send their bastards to the Wall, leave Dragonstone, and leave Westeros in peace? If she decided to send her children to war, she should make sure they were prepared for it. Aemond was 19 years old and only fought with his teacher, he hadn't even participated in a real fight or tournament, and he considered himself an excellent warrior. He was chasing and antagonizing an inexperienced rider and dragon, on an old war dragon (who apparently likes standing on business) during a storm no less, what did he think was going to happen? “BuT VHaGar" nothing! Yeah that old ass lizard wasn't listening but Arrax in a scared attempt was trying to protect himself and Luke. He stole Vhagar when they were younger, claimed it, got jumped (which was the funniest shit though), beat up his cousins in that same fight and was about to bash in the head of the next heir in line to the throne when his feral little brother cut out his eye. Which he himself said was a fair price so there was no reason to be harbouring that animosity towards his nephew and allowing him to live rent free in his mind. He won in the end; the fight when they were children and the oldest, largest dragon. Aemond is one of the few people directly responsible for the suffering of our sweet girl Helaena and her children. You'll pay for your crimes!! I'm not going to say he kick started the dance he just fast tracked it.

DAEMON TARGARYEN IS AN ABSOLUTE VILE PIECE OF SHIT! Look if you read the books and watched the show you'll know that this man isn't a ray of sunshine or a breath of fresh air, I'm sticking to the show timeline, he's an absolute ass. Good father and semi decent husband aside (the bar and standard for both those claims are in the 1000th level of purgatory btw) he's a vile piece of shit. Alicent Hightower is a bitter hating ass bitch. I'm not sorry. Otto raising her aside, she needs to pay for her crimes. Alicent knew good and damn well that Viserys didn't want Aegon on the throne. So what did she do? Help her father usurp the throne. It was a fickle reason for her usurping the throne too. Realistically speaking that wasn't to protect her children. She just hated Rhaenyra and couldn't stand the fact that she was to be crowned. Not accepting the marriage proposal between Jace and Helaena because she was bitter was dumb as hell too. Putting her disappointment of a son on that throne, who is also a rapist was/is bound to end in shambles. She's also directly responsible for Helaena suffering as well. Marrying that poor girl to him even if it would've made her his queen.

Otto Hightower is a bum. He's a manipulative piece of shit and he deserves the absolute worst. Why would he do that to Alicent? She got stuck with the asshole for a dad and he suffered his daughter which in turn suffered his granddaughter and her children. For all his cunning and brains he didn't have the merit to do it on his own. So he unwillingly involved his daughter to put a green on the throne and they chose the worst of the worst green too. He orchestrated their own downfall. He'll pay.

I don't even want to give that bum a spare thought but AEGON II TARGARYEN IS FILTH. There isn't anymore to say. He wasn't a good husband, certainly not the father of the year, he isn't a good king and he's also a rapist. He knew he wasn't supposed to be on that throne. He said it himself. Instead of growing a backbone and standing up to his mother and her entourage, he decided to play a major role in usurping Rhaenyra's birthright. Which was reaffirmed again and again and again. He's responsible for his suffering and the suffering of Helaena and his children, the ones he claimed and all his other illegitimate ones. Rhaenys should've ended it at his false coronation. He needs to pay.

All in all, Helaena doesn't deserve anything that's going to happen to her and her children. Jace, Lucerys, Rhaena, Baela, Joffrey, Aegon III and Viserys II didn't deserve to get wrapped up in it as well. They were kids. If Alicent wasn't hating so hard and had raised those boys with a shred of decency we could've seen one of the best eras to come out of a Targaryen dynasty and I'm not talking about if Jace did indeed marry Helaena (wouldn't necessarily have been possible either cause book spoiler, Jace and lucerys were already betrothed to the Targaryen twins since they were kids), I'm just talking about all the kids getting along and being friends. Wait a minute… just had a thought… what if their Darling already has a kid from a previous partner? Thinking single parent that works hard to provide for their kid. How they handling that? Feel like Viv is going to be jumping straight into the deep end.

Oh, Vivien would absolutely jump right in. That's like a built-in family! It's perfect! He would promptly try and take a fatherly role. If the child was very young, Vivien would simply make it known that he was the father the whole time and there was nobody else involved. Atalanta would be slightly different, but she wouldn't mind if Darling had a child either. Now that Darling is her responsibility, Darling's child is also her responsibility. That child will be moved into the penthouse and given anything they need to survive and thrive, including the best clothing, books, toys, and school. Assuming they were old enough and well-behaved, Atalanta would gladly take the child to her office and show them around, possibly even setting up the child for a business career in the future. IF Atalanta really really liked the child, she would give them the Montclair name and pass on the business to them. If she was just indifferent to the child, she would still raise and provide for them, but their relationship would be more surface level rather than deeply parental and Atalanta would prefer another heir to be born. She would set Darling's child up for success though and leave them enough to live on without working a day in their life.

What do you think Kazui’s dad was like? During Kazui’s T2 QNA he said his dad was a cop and wanted him to be one and in his T1 QNA Kazui Said his family must find him embarrassing.

Strict and controlling, I suppose. In contrast to parents who pamper their children and shower them with love, allowing them to do whatever they want, Kazui's father, I think, would have required him to follow certain rules, and expressed feelings less vividly and strongly. Perhaps at times there could be slaps for disobedience and for discipline purposes.

One of Kazui's answers is literally "[…] Because in my family children were the most distant." (T2 Question 8 "If you had to make one of the prisoners part of your family, who would you choose?") It could be about his marriage to Hinako, as well as his own family, his childhood and the fact that he and his father were emotionally detached.

He seems to me to be the type of parent who plans the fate of their child even before that very child is born. Considering where Kazui studied and what his profession was. He saw his son as his heir or something like that, you know. Oh, and also i remember that about a half year ago I saw someone thinking (I don't remember exactly where and from whom) that Kazui's family could be, if not rich, then above average income. And to be honest, I like to think about it from time to time! As if this would make his father would control him even more because of this, so that Kazui wouldn't disgrace their family name and lineage.

Plus, Kazui himself seems to be very attached to his father and speaks only about him from the family, which suggests that his mother didn't play such an important role in his upbringing. Just as a thought, maybe Kazui's father just rarely let her near their son or let her influence him. I know there are fathers who build a barrier around themselves and their child so that everyone else cannot interfere and the father raised the child the way he wants exclusively.

I mean, that all would be pretty logical, considering Kazui's whole character and how at ease he is in prison. When people who are under someone's control and management suddenly find themselves on their own and find nothing better than just hanging around and going with the flow, because they are used to being led.

HEARTBREAKING. The worst people you know are a throuple! It’s less of a love triangle and more of a weird love arrow with Derby as the focal point. You’re really innovative because you created a world in which dirtmoney and derbif can coexist in…. Relative harmony. You’re a fucking mastermind and Im glad to be the mouthpiece for your ideas.

Starting off strong, Derby Harrington is a trans man. So send those period cramps over, he will feel every single one of them. Obviously the news that Mr and Mrs Harrington were having two children, and neither of them boys, was enough to drive the final nail in the coffin of their already failing marriage. Married as teenage cousins, they tried desperately for a viable pregnancy. Both parties had had sons in the past, but none of them were legitimate heirs to their Oil fortune. A pair of twin girls would, essentially, ruin them.

Born in Brooklyn to parents that were already very much on the brink of divorce, Derby spent a good few weeks in the hospital’s NICU due to having an irregularly large heart and other health conditions (much to his parents' dismay; they really just wanted to get out of there and drop him off with the nanny at the house at that point like they’d done with his healthy twin sister). Instead, his mother was forced to stay with her sickly child while the other one was safely in the hands of their team of nannies.

His mum is a mistress to multiple rich men, she’s never made a living anywhere other than on her back with her legs open. His dad sends makes bank for their mansion through managing their oil company, and many, many well hidden offshore bank accounts. Derby tried disowning his mother for her infidelity but later on he couldn't really blame her as he followed in her footsteps and got messy on his own with Bif and Johnny.His parents divorced when he was about 6 or 7, and he was split from Dahlia. His father took her, wanting to stake his claim to the healthy twin early on in the hopes that he could raise her up to eventually take over the company, no real Harrington was sickly and weak, she seemed more purebred than Derby.

For most of his childhood, he was raised by a nanny that was close to his parents, meaning that he saw her as much more of a mother than his biological mum, Martha. 🚨🚨The nanny took advantage of him when he was barley 6 months old and continued to do so until he was 11 and was preparing to go upstate on a trip with his Father, swapping places with his sister for a month or so as per the legal custody ruling. Wanting to impress his father, he brought up that he casually had relations with her and his dad beat him severely and sent him back to go live with his mother and the nanny permanently, wanting nothing to do with it. Martha stepped in a little bit more to help him because she heard of what Henry (his dad) did but not out of the goodness of her heart, she just wanted more reason to hate her ex husband. Then he came out to her and she fired the nanny, fearing her as "competition" with her son. 🚨🚨

🚨🚨He was brainwashed into believing that whatever she did was okay because no one else could step in. Derby was basically isolated from the outside world and never had any other interactions besides the house’s menagerie of various exotic animals and some servants that didn't dare to intervene in fear they'd lose their jobs. Basically, his mother has a weird incestuous one sided relationship with derby and he doesn't really seem to notice because he's grown up around it all his life. Johnny pointed it out one time and was rightfully like "What the fuck that is not normal" and Derby spiraled and cut him off for a while, not knowing how to process that criticism from someone that he loved and trusted. He’d become so used to it, as it was consistent, repeated and normalised part of his development. It took a good amount of mental energy for him to put two and two together that what had happened to him was, in fact, sexual abuse. 🚨🚨

Derby and Bif had known each other since Bif was a little shrimp in 6th grade, and Derby was finally being allowed out of the house. Derby was still socially a girl but started to discover his true feelings with Bif's overwhelming support (Zoe is Bif’s twin sister who's amab, so he grew up supporting trans people). Then into their freshman year in Bullworth, Bif was working out every day and Derby was climbing to the top of the prep social hierarchy steadily, eventually leading to his total domination as a senior. Bif was always at his side, doting, supportive and devoted no matter how much the power got to Derby's head. He was the only prep who was brave enough to stand up and up and say no to Derby every once in a while, but that was only on rare occasions.

In sophomore year, the two idiots finally figured out they were deeply in love with each other and started dating behind closed doors (which was pretty one sided at the time).Rumours spread from the other preppies and went on from there that they were a thing, which turned out to be true. His dad was obviously not very happy when he transitioned because it was a "waste of a daughter" because he hoped that both of his twins would break the weird ass inbred family tradition. Despite this, derby is still somewhat attached to his dad since he was a role model for him as a kid and he's always trying to make up for the fact he's trans by promising to take up the oil business when he's older, and to run it a hell of a lot better than his cokehead sister.

Johnny comes into the picture in their Junior year, Derby had gotten a little bored of Bif’s tireless dedication and enthusiasm. He had his sights set on something exciting, an affair. Short, sweet and with no strings attached. He was more than aware of Johnny Vincent and his harlot girlfriend and h had to admit he’d grown to be a little attracted to the whimpering mutt. He was vaguely pretty to look at. They started seeing each other in secret, but nothing stays secret in Harrington House for long and Bif ended up finding out. Wanting to keep chivalry alive, he found out where Johnny Vincent was staying (which ended up being on the floor of those gross ass tenements in New Coventry) and formally challenged his crusty ass to a duel. Johnny wasn’t about that life, promptly said fuck that, and fought Bif then and there. Thus creating the 100 years beef between them, during which neither of them wanted anything to do with Derby.

Eventually, Derby wins them both back, puts them in a get-along shirt and they all live happily ever after with Derby at the center of the universe and those two gay idiots orbiting around him like he’s the sun.

They make excuses for Alicent that she was a teen mom and probably didn't want kids, esp at 15 or 16 which is why she is so bad at parenting while Nyra is shown to be loving while previously never wanting marriage or motherhood) and since Laenor didn't desire her, she found a LITERAL plan b.

She couldn't trust anyone else bc the court was already hostile toward her for being a female heir so whose to say one day the bio dad would get tired and claim them????

They just ignore it to fuel their hatred for Rhaenyra. Because just like you said, Laenor was a gay man, and, even more, the book makes it clear that Laenor never showed any interest in women:

This brings into discussion two separate, albeit very much connected, things:

First is how the whole council (and Viserys first and foremost, of course, since his word was final) was an idiotic group of idiotic men that placed Rhaenyra in an impossible situation from the very beginning. This wasn't a case of not knowing Laenor's sexuality, of some plot trying to keep the truth hidden until after the wedding, of pretense or lying — no, Laenor's sexuality was known to everyone. It was known he didn't express any interest in any women, it was known he was gay and had male lovers.

And yet the whole council simply went: you know what would be completely ideal for Rhaenyra? What would make her position so much easier? A man that loves her and is in love with her and actively asked to marry her and sought her hand in marriage? No. They decided that, somehow, the perfect answer is Laenor.

Which brings us to the second point of all this: for Rhaenyra to have those silver haired children that the Greens and Velaryon extremists cry about like they are some medieval peasants, it would have meant for her to rape Laenor. To not care at all about Laenor's feelings and desires and just repeatedly, robotically, force him and herself to sleep together until they produced a child.

But above all else, they hate that Rhaenyra actively sought to have pleasure herself when having sex. To not just sit there and endure it and count the seconds until it was finished.

They would rather see Rhaenyra as this monstrous gorgon that abuses her husband to fulfill her "duty" (someone take away this word from the greens). As this robot that clenches her mouth and suffers sleeping with her gay husband. And somehow this, for the Greens, is the better decision that proves a better character. This makes a better heir to the throne in their vision 🥴

Rhaenyra did the best she could with the horrible circumstances she was given. She allowed Laenor freedom, she allowed him to be with whoever he wanted. Jace, Luke and Joffrey were raised with love and not wanting for anything in terms of affection. And, mind you, the scrutiny was never on Laenor for his lovers. It was still always on Rhaenyra.

love love love seeing Kijo Togami headcanons on the byakuya tag AAAAAAAAA and honestly it got me inspired to share my own!!!!! heheheheh I kinda homebrewed the Plot Twist™ and new lore regarding... certain things... from Project Raincode into this so if you don't want spoilers for that I don't recommend clicking the read more. Though that being said it's very much a homecooked-homebrewed version of it so it's also not reflective of what's canon in the universe also. The plot twist IS still talked about however!

so a lot of my writing for Kijo is centered around my own lore (which contains a lot of oc x canon because hehe funny i have no self control) so I'm mainly gonna be focusing on the stuff that isn't super duper specific to that. Also, all of this takes place in the Non-Despair Timeline.

So first of all, tl;dr on my funky version of the Homunculus Project is that some people either became homunculi via injection of DNA or they could have a body double. Body doubles could either live alongside the host OR have their consciousness transferred into a homunculus body. Typically, only high ranking people were offered the latter option. Also in my take on it, they found a way to negate the sunlight sensitivity and the Amaterasu Corporation cut corners that unintentionally made it so all of their subjects to have the issue. The Unified Government's experiments also successfully prevented permadeath, but they didn't know the effect was only short term and after a certain number of years "dying" would result in zombification.

•Kijo was one of the very first people to have his consciousness transferred into a Homunculus body, since he was extremely eager to become even more perfect than he already was. He was a huge backer and part of the project as a whole, seeing as the Togami Conglomerate has such a prominent place in the global government.

•One of the head scientists, a french DNA sequencer, was also one of the very first people to do this as well. She was able to do so despite not having the same status as the billionares because she contributed so much to the project. She decided to work on the project because she was born infertile and wanting nothing more than to have a kid of her own, and being transplanted into a new body was, at least in her mind, the only way to achieve that dream.

•Kijo overhears this and has the idea of procreating a homunculus child. Homunculus children at this point were being given to non-homunculus surrogate volunteers (basically how everyone else who went to Hope's Peak got to exist. It was never a school for the gifted-it was secretly a containment zone for all of the test tube homunculi babies aside from "Lucky Students" like Makoto and Reserve Course students.) She agrees since it's everything she's ever wanted, despite knowing that one day she'd have to give him up when the time came.

•The Woman would be allowed to bear Kijo's child, and he was predetermined to be the heir of the company. However, the traditional competition and inheritance contest had to continue as normal in order to maintain the illusion that there weren't genetically modified children in the family. Her son was never to find out, and him and his father were to rule to corporation for eons to come while also spreading homunculus DNA and offspring to those deemed worthy.

•Byakuya's mom never told him that he was basically destined to win. She raised him with love and care and all the formal training any Togami child would normally have needed to compete and be worthy of the title. It pained her to see him go, but she got to experienced the thing she'd always wanted.

•Byakuya doesn't find out ANY OF THIS until his dad "dies" (since the project ended up being faulty and nobody knew that the immortality effects did not stop the body from giving out on itself,) and subsequently gets reincarnated as a zombie within a day. It crushes him, he is full of angst and confusion, like imagine your whole life you believe your talents were earned not given, and they turn out to be given instead of earned (this is actually where more of the oc x canon lore comes in because my character also suffers from genetic modification, and her altered DNA is what cancels out the effects of his altered DNA. We have an in-joke in my friend group that Chere gave Byakuya radiation poisoning and that's why he's allowed to live almost painlessly lmfao) that and like, imagine knowing that one day your body is gonna just give out on you and you'll wake up the next morning as a zombie. that's kinda scary man ngl

•tl;dr: Byakuya Togami is a superhuman because his dad and mom are genetically modified superhumans. His dad wanted to play god and raise a god heir. Byakuya did not choose this path and now has to suffer the consequences of it. Byakuya is also the ONLY homunculus child that was born from two homunculi, all the others were surrogates. That's why he's the Ultimate Perfection ;) ...this probably doesn't make much sense and is like SUUUUUPER fucking out there and weird but I'm posting it anyway I'm tired of being a coward

I've also got another legacy family, the Duncans.

It all started when Moira Duncan and her teenaged daughter Tia moved into a ramshackle house in the edge of Moonwood Mill.

Moira got a minimum wage job, while Tia attented high school. Education was the least thing on her mind when she met a neighbourhood boy, Jacob Volkov. The two became fast friends, and not long after, lovers. Tia saw Jacob and his close family as a safe haven (even if they were wolves) and Jacob was happy to fill the role of a protector.

Tia would need all the support she could get, as her mother died suddenly. Little did she now, she was already pregnant at the time, carrying the legacy heir.

Even if the young couple was wholly unprepared to start a family, Jacob was excited to be a dad, and Tia gave birth to twin boys, Chann and Lowe. Unfortunately, tragedy struck again and Tia passed unexpectedly.

Raising two wild boys wasn't easy, especially when Chann had inherited his father's beastly side. But with the help of his pack, Jacob managed to keep the boys fed, warm and (relatively) happy. Growing up, Chann and Lowe were unseparable but as time went on, they started to show interest in different things - Lowe wanted to educate himself and, frankly, get out of Moonwood Hills, while Chann wanted to stay and live a quiet life away from too much civilization.

In the end, Lowe got the upgrade he wished by marrying a Landgraab heir (even he doesn't know how he landed that) and moved to Oasis Springs. Chann saw this as a betrayal, and the two never spoke again.

In the meantime, Chann had figured out a way to make money - selling his locally grown weed - and how to spend that money. He spent his nights at pubs and bars and nighclubs, meeting new people, having some relations of the casual type. Just enjoying life, y'know.

There was a new add-on to Moonwood Mill - Rose, who had moved in with her grandmother, Lily Zhu, after some scandalous event in her home town. As an insecure young adult, she was prone to the wooings of someone like Chann, and it didn't take long for Rose to fall for him.

Eventually Rose got pregnant and moved in with Chann, only to learn he was a cheating bastard. She was hesitant to leave Chann, especially after giving birth to twins, Lucian and Daciana, hoping a family would change him. The last straw was when Rose learned Chann had gotten another woman pregnant, and she left to live with her grandmother once again.

Lucian and Daciana are both blessed (or cursed) with their family's bloodline, which made raising them difficult - especially since Rose is only a human herself. Both kids have a somewhat strained relationship with their parents, but eventually moved back in with their dad into the ramshackled house. Daciana even picked up the family business of selling weed, while Lucian wishes to better himself as a man and a werewolf.

Now Lucian is married to one of his packmates, Donna Pleasant, and has hopes of leading the pack one day. Daciana on the other hand has copied much of his father's lifestyle and currently has three children with two different men. She isn't too keen on child-rearing and has left much of it to Lucian and Donna.
