I've been making cave terrain with my new best friend Fiber Paste

I can't believe these are finally done! Took forever lmaoo

Some of the stalagmites are just scrap polymer clay I mushed up and painted and they match fine enough I think. I used various foams for the rest- the flat ones are cheapo craft foam i glued together in layers and the chunky ones are packing foam I chopped up and stabbed skewers into.

I coated everything in (white) gessopodge then added the fiber paste- gives them a stone texture and fills in all the holes, and I could also make little peaks in it for some extra stalagmites.

After it dried I primed them in black and did the basic dry brushing.

The hardest thing was definitely the cave pools cus I kept trying other mediums and fucking it up, but in the end I bit the bullet and bought some casting resin. (Used that on my swamp too)

Will probly make some scans of the DM screen I'm working on (painting in the background) as soon as I get some hinges for it

Sea Base

While waiting for paint to dry and to embark on my next painting exhibition, I give you: Sea Bases!

Lovely little bases they are. Rather than get annoyed with myself because I put a ton of work into a miniature and am delayed by the base not being ready, I learned from my previous annoyances and painted the bases first. They were also fun to paint.

I attempted to duplicate the water effect I made on the siren from a few weeks ago but then decided to scuff it up instead of leaving it smooth. Tiny little drops of color made these fun to paint.

On to the elves!

Giant mimic

The tongue was super annoying to get into place. And you feel you want one of those angled brushes just so you can paint behind the teeth, but nobody's looking that closely anyway.

The door doesn't quite shut all the way, which is too bad, really.

Painting a base for my upcoming mini.

Tried hard on this one to do an underwater light reflection pattern which have never done before. Maybe could have done better but overall happy for a first attempt.

Will see if I can match it on the model after.

Anyone who's ever talked to me about D&D for more than five minutes knows that I love mimics. It should then come as no surprise that I painted this mimic family from Dungeons & Lasers: Animal Companions. Now I should find a way to use them...

All three were painted with the Army Painter’s Speedpaints.
