I FINALLY GOT CHAPTER 2 UP

Here's chapter 1 if anyone missed that one

gawd it took me so long I'm so sorry! In my defense it's double the length of chapter 1. Here's a little preview

It started with a boom that rivaled thunder. 

Lilith jumped awake in the dead of night, heart pounding. Around her, animals were chittering, panicked. There was an energy, a tension in the air. She couldn’t quite understand what it was or what was happening. She still could find no source of the noise that had awoken her. 

Another boom rattled the air, followed by actual thunder. Both were accompanied by blinding light from the sky above. The ground beneath her shook, and the plants rattled their leaves. 

Lilith stood and began to run. She could barely see what was going on through the canopy of the trees, but she was determined to figure out what was going on. Normally at night, she wouldn’t have been able to see anything. But with every crash, every shake, every boom, the sky lit up with different colors and illuminated her path. 

When she finally reached a clearing, her suspicions were confirmed but her questions remained unanswered. 

The sky above her was in turmoil. The clouds churned and danced around each other, trying to crush each other and melting into each other. They tugged and pulled, ripped and teared away at each other. Lights would flash from behind them with their deafening booms. It looked like the end of days. 

The only experience Lilith had that was even remotely akin to this was light rain, but mostly only because it’d be cloudy with distant thunder. This-... This was something else completely.

Lilith watched transfixed. Hoping maybe at some point it would let up or fade. But it wouldn’t. At most there would be a longer stretch of seconds between the next flash of light than other times, but it never waned. 

Soon, the battle of the sky stretched into the daytime, distorting the colors of the sunrise around it to a violent red before eventually giving way to day. The clouds remained dark, and heavy, sometimes even black at times. 

Lilith had hoped that during the day it would make more sense, or be less frightening. Instead, what she saw was only worse. 

“Lilith!” a voice called to her, and she turned. Eve was beckoning her, “Come on! I know you don’t like Adam much, but don’t be alone in this!” 

Lilith glanced at the sky one last time before running over to Eve. 

Eve was right. As annoying as Adam was, being alone with that chaos reigning above her would be worse. It seemed however, whatever it was that was happening, was also rattling Adam. For once, he took on a more protective role over the two women, trying to comfort them. 

They spent the day together eating the fruits of Eden, and sitting together looking at the sky. 

When the sun started to set, the sky was still rumbling and booming. The lights distorted the clouds into monstrous shapes before immediately destroying them and then creating more shapes.

“What in Eden’s name is going on??” Adam hissed under his breath. “Is this going to last all night too?” 

It did. 

None of them got much sleep. 

It lasted all throughout the next day as well. And the next night, and the day after that. 

It never rained, and the wind only minorly picked up, as if down below on Eden was completely separate to what was happening above. Lilith eventually grew weary of Adam once again and broke off to be by herself. Clearly, whatever was happening wasn’t about to hurt her. 

Finally, after seven days and seven nights, when the dawn was breaking through the thickness of night, there was a sickening sound that started off as a crackle but devolved into a rattle as a single light flared in the sky and then jortled across it. 

The sky went quiet as that single light began to fall, a smaller piece of it broke off and went on its own trail. 

Lilith could only watch in morbid fascination as the streak of light fell, and when it hit the earth, the ground itself shook, rippling out in waves as if it had turned liquid. 

Lilith grabbed onto a tree for stability as all the animals screeched around her. 

Then it settled. 

The ground no longer shook.

The sky was silent and still. 

Looking up at it however, in the exact trace of the light, the edges of the clouds had been ripped apart, and the sunrise was making it glow an angry red. The air was uncomfortably chilly. It felt as if something had been irrevocably changed.

hey so how do you think Batboys would deal with a s/o who listens to them at the start of the relationship when they say don’t go to that area. S/o offers them help sometimes with things. (In reality, s/o just didn’t have a reason to go yet). But what they do when they find out s/o is Going to the place for a change cuz they felt they had to go do something important (the boys weren’t around when something came up) and if either get argumentative when this first happens, s/o points out They’re both a couple who aren’t gonna agree with each other’s decisions all the time, but s/o’s glad their boyfriends there, at the same time, annoyed they followed cuz doesn’t want them getting shot at cuz of s/o. then how do they deal with this being a thing that sometimes happens between them far into the relationship still??

A/N: sorry about the short format. it kept turning into a character analysis of the boys rather than a request despite rewriting so many times😂

Dick:

Everyone says he’s the nice one. Not tonight and most definitely not for you

You placed yourself in danger. Disregarding your safety and how tonight could've been the last night for both you and him

He told you how dangerous that place was because he loves you and never wants to see or hear that you’re wounded. That the person that holds his heart was injured in any shape or form especially in an area even he has to be cautious when entering its vicinity. But you still chose to go there.

He wonders if he did something to not make you trust him. To rather not tell him and risk going to that area behind his back when you could’ve asked him to go with you

It’s him. He’s the one that gets his tongue tied up after starting the argument when you bring up how couple’s aren’t going to agree with each other's decisions since he had done it one too many times to you. (Cough jumping into a street full of fear gas without any protection cough) Still argues that this is different as it’s your life that was at stake

The nail to the coffin is you telling him your relief of him being here and your desire not see him get hurt because of you. Not only are you throwing his words back at him, you’re sincere about it and how is he supposed to stay mad when he’s listening to how he’s loved just as much as he loves you? 

Jason:

You did not just that. You did not go to the place he warned you not to. You can’t be serious-

It’s this type of stuff that gets him mad at you. Not the disgruntlement or him agreeing to disagree, he’s actually mad mad

You are precious. You are special. Maybe not to all but to him, you are. He’s been through death and revival in the worst ways- he will never let you go through that. He won’t allow it. Ever

Except you’re about to by heading to the one area he told you not to go when even him, the guy who survived the Lazarus Pit, considers it dangerous. And he swears if anything were to happen to you, he won’t be holding anything back

He uno reverse your argument you started, asking you how you would feel if he had done the same thing you did to him. Emphasis on the not telling part as that’s his biggest issue 

It’s not as if he was going to stomp his foot down and end with saying no. He would’ve gone with you so he could help you out. But to do it and suffer through it alone? When he’s right next to you? No way is he going to let you do that

Much of his anger sizzles out when revealing you didn’t want to drag him into your problems when he already has his hands full and confessing you’re actually glad that he’s here with you. Most likely to gloat about the last part afterwards as his heart throb from how much you cherish him 

Tim:

It’s either he gets a stroke, an aneurysm, hyperventilate, or all three

There was a reason why he gave you the whole talk of why you shouldn’t go, listing all the reasons and probability of anyone surviving- all for you to simply not go and not get yourself killed 

There’s no anger or irritation; he’s pure anxiety, close to having a mental breakdown from almost losing you had anything gone wrong 

He goes from going off how dangerous it was for you to go there in the first place to him practically confessing his love for you again with how he doesn’t know how to live his life if you aren’t there with him 

Ended up causing an argument about how he needs to treat himself better and know he’s the best thing ever vs. you needing to treat yourself better and you’re the best thing ever when he tells you it’s not his life that’s important right now, it’s yours 

Still mentions how you could’ve asked him for help. He’s the best detective after the man in black himself so why didn’t you? 

Gives you the stink eye once you express your relief he’s here and you only wanted to keep him safe from getting hurt from your problems because he knows you were trying to get away with it and it’s not working. Okay, maybe it is but not completely

Duke: 

Flabbergasted. Dumbfound. Mentally broken

Where were you? The place he told you not to go? The area that was deemed as JLA level danger? What the actual fuck-

Between the two of you, you’re usually the smarter one but at the moment, not so much as he’s desperately hoping you’re okay, safe, alive, and nothing happened to you

Rather than an argument, it’s you trying to calm down a very worked up Duke as he goes off a tangent from how worried he was for you to asking what you were thinking going to a dangerous area alone

Like seriously, do you understand what could’ve happened and how heartbroken he would be if he lost you? You’re the one who helps him remember who he is as a person and remind him what he does is worth it if he could see your smiles and spend more time with you. What is he supposed to do without you?

Tries to continue being angry but finds it unfair how you manage to get him to have his heart skip a beat when you tell him you’re glad he’s here and you didn’t want him to get hurt because of you. He’s supposed to be lecturing you. Not feel fuzzy, come on

Damian:

You’re an idiot. And not in the “you’re my idiot” affectionate way

Did it seem he was kidding when he told you why not to go? Was it a joke to you? Just where in the world did you even get the idea that it was going to be okay for you to go there?

In short, he’s pissed. Pissed that you were brushing off his concerns for you because he cares and doesn’t ever want to see you hurt or worse. Pissed that you weren’t caring for yourself when you, yourself, are the only treasure he would ever desire

Yes, he’s going to argue with you because he’s right and you know he’s right. Or should but obviously you don’t when you argue back about couple’s respecting each other’s decision when, for him, it’s about you potentially close to losing your life 

In which he brings it up as well as how you could’ve asked him for help. Would he have said no if you asked him to take you to the area? Yeah, at first. If you continued pushing, he would’ve gone with you. If not, he would’ve done everything to get to the bottom of it because he’d do anything to make sure your safe and he won’t lose you

Scoffs  from you being glad he’s here but annoyed from the chance he could get hurt because of you but it takes the edge off him and he softens from how you told him how much you think about him

But seriously like I've mentioned before Murdoc does not handle kindness well

He doesn't think highly of people and often think they have bad intentions

So he often thinks people are either using kindness as some underhanded tactic

Or that their stupid cuz their nice

I feel like a broken record at this point but Murdoc was not raised in a environment that fostered an environment that encouraged him to care for others, it was kinda a man eat man world, and it made him very self centered

So he has a very hard time grasping at the idea of caring for anyone else but himself

And again same goes with being nice, in his world being nice got him no where so in his eyes those who are nice are incompetent

But either way nice people, caring people, love- make him mega uncomfortable and nervous

So his S/O like I've said in past he's break down some walls

when his S/O starts being real loving and caring at the start of the relationship, it honestly sets off alarmbells for him

He thinks your up to something your not, he's just paranoid

but another part of him soaks it up like a sponge

inflating his already inflated ego

he'll soak up praise and let you be as caring as you want, he's being treated like he deserves in his mind

that's until the voice inside his head starts spreading the little seeds of doubt

his trust issues bubbling up as your love is seeming more unconditional

It's unnerving really, people usually start acting less nice by now...

Your care is making him uneasy

And he'll cope at the start by making fun of you teasing you, and he has the tendency to take things to far at times

He can become aggressive if you make him feel too vulnerable too early in the relationship

it takes time for him to get used to more genuine love

He can't handle romantic or genuine intimacy

It scares him :(

So he copes HARD

Like it's sad to watch

Ways he copes: he thinks you doing things for him is you coming on to him, make fun of you if you say you love him, praise is met with teasing, ect

He doesn't nesisarly not like it, in fact if you stopped he'd get into his own head even more

And there is no short term solution, you just need to be patient and carful, he needs understanding and time

This is probably the first genuine relationship in his life

His relationship experience is mostly hook ups and hollow relationships that never lasted long

This is new and intimidating

The the shitty part is that he doesn't let you know that

His communication skills are trash and is scared to express his true feelings

Your kinda left to figure it out yourself(which isn't that much of an issue, it's obvious to his S/O that he has these issues with how he acts.

It's all about how you approach it, patience is key

As you break down these walls by continuously being there for him when he needs you, when his self destructive behavior gets the better of him

And he ends up piss drunk, hung over in the winnebago, relying on you to take care of him

It with times like these his trust in you grows and the more vulnerable he allows himself to be infront of you

And at some point you'll get their with all the walls broken(for you at least, he ain't letting anyone one else see him vulnerable)

And he'll be a greedy little bastard with your love

Honestly, your love turns him into a bit of a attention whore

But that comes at the price at him being intently jealous

Since a lot of walls had to come down at this point and Murdoc is generally just a very jealous person, he doesn't react well to what he perceives as someone receiving love that is ment for him

Acts like a piss baby, and saunters over and try and take the attention away from that insignificant person and on to him

He'll try and get you away from the person in a way that probably makes him look like a total dick and or if his actions get him in trouble or he can't separate you from the person he just pouts and whines as he attempts to get your attention

Once this man has S/O's love, I don't think he could live without it

charlie’s day wasn’t going well so far, and that was an understatement, her father and alastor were having issues…again, she had to stop niffty from freaking out the newer residents, and it seemed like not a single productive thing was getting done.

to ease her stress slightly, she thought a game night with the rest of the hotel would be a blast, however, it just seemed to stress her out more…

the problem was, she forgot to tell basically everyone, it didn’t even occur to her until after sitting around for 20 minutes after setting everything up, she had what felt like the whole night planned.

charlie sighed before saying “well.. i had this game night planned, and i completely forgot to tell everyone..!” her lips going into a small pouty shape.

“i could play with you.” you smile softly, plopping down on the ground infront of her, charlie nodding eagerly, you couldn’t help but giggle at her silly self.

“sooo…” you trailed off, looking through the selection of board games to choose from, “what do you wanna play first?” you ask, looking up at charlie for her approval.

“hmmm..” charlie hummed, tapping her finger lightly against the table, her eyes lit up at the sight of one that caught her eye. “that one!” she smiled, and that one you played.

halfway through the game, you watched charlie cheer as she scored a few additional points, “if you win, i’ll give you a prize.”

charlie’s eyes flickered up to meet yours, nodding eagerly with a smile.

that seemed to fill her with at least a little bit of determination, you’d never seen her fight for something so small, her eyes piercing into the board and her tongue peaking out of the corner of her mouth.

charlie looked at the number on the dice in delight as she grabbed her pink game piece and moved it to the end of the board. “yes, i won!!” she cheered, before letting out a small gasp in realization, “wait — what’s my reward?” she asked with an excited grin, catching her off guard, you leaned over the table, grasping her cheeks, and began to kiss her on the lips.

she let out a breathy giggle through her toothy grin as she began to kiss you back, her hands resting on your sides, sure, it was messy, but it didn’t feel messy, it felt right.

you licked the corners of her lips, as her mouth opened agape to let your tongue in with hers, your tongues hooked around eachother, exploring eachothers warm embrace, her hands travelled up and down your sides, before you pulled away, biting the bottom of her lip, a trail of salvia connecting you both, the same way an invisible string connected your souls.

charlie chuckled, still catching her breath, “c’mon, lets forget about this whole ‘game night’ thing and go up to my room, yeah?”

Addendum: old man anon griping about cheating with ChatGPT does not endorse cheating or procrastinating. I'm just being silly.

I mean... at least with regular old-fashioned cheating, also an academic tradition since time immemorial, at least you're engaging with the material somehow. You are putting your own two god-given eyeballs on that and using your own ickle brainikins to do SOMETHING with it, even if that something is morally questionable. We've all seen the elaborate cheat devices where someone managed to engrave all the exam answers onto a pen or a pair of socks or whatever -- at least that person went in and used their initiative to remember information SOMEHOW, and to do it under their own power. Now, yes, it will get you into trouble, and yes, there are plenty of conversations to be had about accessibility and the fact that not everyone learns by sitting in a room and being lectured at and then having to regurgitate it all from memory with no notes in a final exam, which is why there is a whole thriving field of educational pedagogy and best practices and how to accommodate students with different learning styles and etc. etc. I sometimes see AI framed as "uwu accessibility issue :(" and like... cmon. There are educational professionals who spend their whole lives and careers working out how to shake up the traditional learning format and present material in an engaging way and teach students how to think and write and otherwise be academic and rigorous. And like, if you're voluntarily in this space, then we presume you WANT that instruction! Not to just sit around and whine about how we aren't catering enough to you personally and this means you should get to use the Bullshit Plagiarism Nonsense Machine to never ever think at all!

Now, I will say that the naivete around AI is not only limited to students. I was in a department meeting yesterday where the literal associate dean of the college seemed startled to discover that AI might not be a) totally reliable b) able to totally replace lesson planning and evaluation/grading by an actual human professor (after several faculty members pushed back, shall we say, briskly on the idea that it could). Plenty of people still think it can just magically solve Academia (or /insert field here), and those are not just limited to clueless undergraduates. And yes, undergraduates are clueless in different ways and for different reasons in every era of the world; it is likewise an academic rite of passage. But I still cannot for the life of me understand why you, in ye olde benighted 21st century, would pay tens of thousands of dollars and/or accrue it in debt to go to college, to learn nothing, to whine and blame your professors for "not designing assignments well" (when again, every remotely decent educational professional agonizes for eons about how to do a good job of this for all kinds of students), to insist it is your entitled right to use the Bullshit Plagiarism Nonsense Machine, and then presumably be /shocked pikachu face/ when you don't learn anything and spend your time posting idiot takes on the internet. I mean. The state of critical thinking is /waves hand/ Already So Bad, and the AI craze plays directly into that by fulfilling the insidious fantasy that the hard things in life aren't actually hard and don't have to be learned by patient and careful practice. Also, another question! As you are well aware, I am writing a fanfic book inspired from your fanfic thanks to your permission. However, i been struggling with what type between these two a storyline or a react. Do you think I should do a react first or the fanfic first? Also, I am debating on either have Luke, Ethan, or Male Oc Chase as Percy love intrest in the PJO world, which should I do?

i can't TELL you which one to do first cuz it all depends on YOU, buuuuut these are two very different types of books so i'll just list out the pros and cons of starting either one first and let you decide 😅

REACTION FIC

pros:

easier/quicker to make cuz all you're doing is copy-pasting a chapter, making any necessary edits (like changing names), and THEN putting reactions. so 50% of the chapter would be the og scenes and then the other 50% would be reactions; less writing imo, UNLESS you're the type to make long reactions which are also really nice!

(btw, i recently found out that some people tend to copy-paste the chapter and also add in the reactions simultaneously while editing??? that worked out TERRIBLY for me cuz i was so exhausted. i changed it up to copy-pasting the entire chapter first, editing the whole thing to put the changes and fix format, and THEN put down the reactions. this also helps to make lengthier reactions cuz you got the energy to do so instead of wasting it trying to simultaneously fix the og scenes!)

you can be really loose with the plot lol. it's a reaction fic, you don't really need a "climax, plot twist, resolution, character development, etc." like other fics do

cons:

gotta be careful on how you write the reactions 😭 this is a personal issue that i've been having trouble with rn 😭 i keep going back and changing shit cuz some of my reactions are so flat or downright cringy or just way too short

lot of work if you're gonna add tv/movie scenes. this is if you're planning on intermixing it with the tv show like i am, i suggest you look up the transcripts for the scenes so you can copy-paste instead of painstaking typing every word out! THEN you can rewatch the scene to describe movement/facial features

STORY-FOCUSED FIC

pros:

you have more freedom! with reaction fics, you'd be restricted to the same setting, the same characters reacting, etc.

you get to have fun fleshing out ur characters by giving them character development

cons:

no shortcuts lol. everything will be typed out, no copy-pasting huge chunks so get ready for more work!

gotta plan out the basic outline of the whole fic so you actually know what the goal for ur fic is. could be very tedious!

♡ chappell roan. though the only thing she released this year was good luck, babe, which was still an absolutely huge success, she has been SO iconic throughout the entirety of 2024, with all her performances and appearances, along with her tour and the success of hot to go in the summer. shes too iconic not to put up here ♡

♡ okay i don't even LISTEN to kendrick lamar and yet i KEPT hearing about him CONSTANTLY this year. his music kinda goes hard actually and that whole thing w drake as well?? honestly though hes not on my playlist i definitely think the world has heard too much about him for him not to make it up here 💬

♡ tyler the creator i feel like also deserves a mention in this list. i also kept hearing so much about him and his music is genuinely so good. chromakopia was such a massive success and all of his albums are so incredibly complex and enjoyable it would be a crime not to put him up here ♡

i feel like kpop deserves its own little section because its so different to western music in the way of management and music output. and the winner of said section for this year has to be stray kids. with ATE in july and their new album in december, they have been touring and collaborating and going all out this year. i am more of a casual listener these days but i have not been able to stop hearing about them. they are so iconic every year but this year i cant think of anyone that tops them in all honesty 🩷✨️♡

2024 was a very much pop-oriented year in the world of music, and with hyperpop being surprisingly the top genre, many conflicts were started and many bangers were made. though i can't say its been a legendary musical year, its definitely been a memorable one, and i feel next year will only continue that and take it even further. i look forward to seeing what 2025 brings for us in the music scene, and i hope you all have a beautiful new year, inside and outside of music 💬🩷🫶🏻🎀🎧⭐️

I Kinda disagree ( no hard feeling tho! I respect your opinion). However, you Hit the nail with the panel format issue, Dont get me wrong, telling an arc in few panels have also been used also in the eddsworld classic era before but it was fun to read cuz they weren't heavily storylin arc ( example : Mystery ) (1/2)

no worries about respect, people are bound to disagree! ^_^ i also love discussing things so heres a little bit of my perspective here (also sorry if this ask was a two-part i think my inbox ate the 2nd part of it)

i feel it would be better for these longer comics to be made into shorts instead of comics. the weekly upload of 4 panel story comics is a nightmare. ive criticised TBATF for the same problem, uploading 4-panel comics in what is meant to be an outrageously long webcomic with lore and a lot of events. theres already a remedy for this because eddsworld HAS done longer comics before, and even if it hadn't its never too late to break the imaginary rules v, not everything, especially longer ideas with dead air in the middle, has to be formatted as a four-panel funny

as for the comic itself

its bound to make fans incredibly impatient knowing the next 5+ weeks are going to be about this particular thing that has very little pay off

it feels worth mentioning the pizza time comic which is another 4 parter which lacked any substance and left a lot of fans incredibly disappointed. if you want to put your ocs into your comics as part of the crew there is nothing wrong with that really but youve got to understand that a lot of people are not going to be interested in the mishaps of oc 1 and oc 2 instead of edd and his friends in a series called Eddsworld

very long and i personally did not find it entertaining at all

the problem is definitely not that theyre multi-parters but rather that theyre not self-contained multi-parters. edd made plenty of multi-part comics! but each of them also work as stand-alones, see:

this style of comics, funnies, originates from news papers - so if you were going to make a multi-part comic you would HAVE to make it funny on its own because its no good to get the paper one week, look at the funnies and the funnies dont even have a joke (or at least not a joke thats funny without the extra context). people need to be able to tune in whenever and still get the joke. the modern multi-parters dont account for that and instead make the next part without consideration as to whether its REALLY funny enough to be made into a comic or not.

the comics are made so you can crack the jokes youd have a hard time putting in the show, either because theyre too short to be animated on their own or because the situation is too specific to be organically put in the show (like the rubber one above). if the comic isnt going to have a joke one week, maybe its better to store that in the idea bank for an actual eddisode!

Coming off anon for this one cuz oh boy it’s theory time and I’m feeling very silly

(I just woke up at the time of writing so sorry for any typos, rambling, or confusion lol)

Alright! So, I’ve been thinking a lot about the existence of Eclipse and the theories popping up about them lately mainly: that Clipsey is a recycle of Moon’s broken body. Which I’ll touch up on first.

The issue that was presented with Moon by this definitely-not-at-all-suspicious engineer was that his processing unit was smashed and ‘unsalvageable’ (which we know to not be true), and aside from the obvious injuries cause by Trap, no major problems with Moon’s case are brought up. His *internals* were destroyed, aside from his battery which was reused.

Continuing forward, the SOMA comparisons. Reading through a plot synopsis of the game, I can’t help but link the destruction of Moon-man’s processing unit and Simon’s brain injury together a bit. Considering that that is the partial cause for Sun and Moon combining and the reason for Simon getting his brain scan copy. Both undergoing heavy ‘brain’ damaging and being brought to very odd circumstances because of it.

With the assumption that this is *actually* Moon’s body, “Uploaded into a modified corpse” is a *very* apt description for what Eclipse is. They’re a copy of someone (two people technically) inhabiting the dead body of the original, almost like Pry/ncess in a weird way.

That’s where the comparisons for the game and Bethroned end to my knowledge however, so time to move onto the more ‘looking too far into things’ section of my theory,

The design and color scheme!

Starting off, I noticed that the coloring of the Sun side on their face was reused from *post incident* which makes sense, that’s how Sun would’ve been seen last before running away with Pry/ncess, the eyes obviously match up as well.

Though the tops of the rays have noticeably sharper points to them if that’s anything at all, it’s impossible to draw the something the same way every single time after all so that can be easily written off.

The same can be said for Moon as well, the coloring of his face matches up with theirs, however his other features are… very much not intact. Very close but not quite.

The coloring and patterning of the hat is entirely different, the cape maintains the same coloring but the stars on Eclipse’s are much smaller and more faded than Moon’s as well.

What’s throwing me off though is the eyes, for both post incident and for Eclipse the right eye gained a black sclera, Moon’s pupil turned white, but Eclipse’s stayed red.

If Eclipses body was Moon’s then this could’ve happened naturally, the eye could’ve simply underwent the same damage/change as it did with Moon’s form in Sun’s body. Though do to this being his actual form the pupil could’ve kept its regular eye color.

Their lack of a mouth could also mean that they can’t speak, another drastic contrast in characterization to our boys. From the artwork we’ve been shone of them they see, cunning, clever, but very, VERY distressed. (Be a bit weird to consciously design eye-bags on your new king after all, right? That’s their own fault.)

And for my last point, their crown and the Opal.

This is the most obvious ‘combination’ in their design, it gets the rounded bottom of Sun’s and the gem formation and top shape of Moon’s. When overlayed on top of each other you also get similar colors to Eclipse’s crown, though more cleaned up and appealing on the eyes.

The gem in this crown has been confirmed to be an opal (if my memory serves me right I can’t find the post anywhere to confirm, tumblr search engine is bleh)

There were a few pieces of folklore and symbolism relating to the opal that I found particularly interesting with what little we know about Eclipse.

Mainly, it representing loyalty and goodluck as well as royalty. A lot of other interpretations I found pointed to it granting foresight and being responsible for prophecy, something you’d certainly want your king to have after the huge string of ‘bad luck’ that befell both of them.

Loyalty to prevent another incident like Sun choosing Pry/ncess over his kingdom and trusting them first, foresight and prophecy so that they can avoid incident like King Freddy dying and, well, Sun and Moon’s incident. and royalty is obvious.

Though the loyalty interpretation and foresight/intelligence can vary widely in intention depending on if Chica or PeePaw (maybe both, stares at Trap) is responsible for their existence. Cant speak that much on it before they’ve even appeared in the story.

Alright so what am I getting at with all this? Well, put simply, Eclipse’s design and name are very very intentional and combining the Princes was clearly in mind when they were (re)built by whoever their creator is. I believe that they attempted to program, be it from scratch with parts of Moon’s processor or with some kind of backup of Sun *somehow*, Sun into Moon’s body and combine their ai together in order to make a new heir.

Again, can’t find the message, but Eclipse’s existence was described as ‘decidedly uncomfortable’ which is very understandable if this were true, having you and your brother’s brain and memories COMPLETELY sewn together, not even with semi separate minds or personalities like with the actual Sun and Moon, would be very, VERY lacking in the ‘good for your mental health’ department, especially if you knew you aren’t the original ‘you’, just a clone, a do-over, a combination of two other failures that you need to clean the mess from up.

Put simply, I believe Eclipse is a combination of Sun and Moon, but not THE combination of Sun and Moon. If that makes any sense. They’re a replication of both placed inside Moon’s old body and used to fill the empty spot on the throne and potentially-maybe-hopefully-not help Afton.
