After his seclusion ended, Lan Wangji took A-Yuan to Lotus Pier. Of course he doesn’t like Jiang Wanyin, but for this, for *him*, he makes an exception. When Jiang Cheng is summoned out to deal with the Pier’s sudden guest, toting a now three years old Jin Ling in one arm and a strong tea in the other, he sees the face of a boy he’d assumed dead, a boy his brother once called son. “You have three days. I don’t want to see you so stay out of my business.” Is all he says before setting Jin Ling down and prompting him towards A-Yuan. Lan Wangji nods at him, crouching down to (his nephew?) A-Ling. “I was a friend of your uncle’s. This is my son, Lan Yuan.” The toddler looks up at his uncle who nods. “Be a good host, show them around.” Before promptly leaving. The toddler sticks out his hand to the other timidly. “I’m Jin Ling.”

Viole sat by the window, watching Mr. Shibisu rummage through the medbay cabinets. Mr. Rak and Khun went to the cafeteria to get food, so there were only the three of them in the room.

Mr. Isu had been doing that the moment Mr. Agni left. And Viole grew curious. "What are you looking for, Mr. Isu? Maybe I can help."

"Oh, nothing. I'm just checking what they’ve got here. A good scout should use every opportunity well." Mr. Isu gave him a thumbs up. "Also, there's no need to be so formal to me, man. Just call me Isu."

Viole felt sheepish. Maybe he should grow out of this habit soon. "Okay, Isu."

Isu flicked his fingers. It seemed like he just remembered something. "Oh, right. Bam. I have something for you." Then proceeded to dig through his pocket. His face lit up when he found the thing.

Isu walked up to him, and handed him a badge. It looked like a feather, but shaped like an odd tree branch. "What is this?"

"That's a wing tree badge, a symbol of the organization called Wolhaiksong. Princess Yuri asked me to give it to you, back on the second floor."

"Miss Yuri…" He hadn't heard about her in a long time. He missed her. He hoped she was doing well. Did she know that he was still alive? Oh. He should apologize for losing the Black March, too. And retrieve it, so he could return it to her. Anaak should have it, right? He'd talk to her later.

"If I recall…she said, 'Urek Mazino is waiting for you on the seventy-seventh floor' when she handed that badge over."

"Seventy-seventh floor?" That'd be a high climb, maybe some years at best. Could he meet Miss Yuri there? "Who's Urek Mazino?"

"He's the co-founder of Wolhaiksong, an irregular, and also one of the top five strongest people in this tower! No joke."

Viole examined the badge. It was white and glossy, small enough that he could hide it between his hands. To think that this small item could hold so much value…It was pressuring. Just like when he was lended the Black March. But still, he was happy to be acknowledged and remembered by such important people. "Thank you, Isu."

"You're welcome." Isu replied cheerfully and sat back next to him, shoulders slouched like an invisible weight had just been lifted off him. "Man… it’s good to finally be able to give it to you."

Servamps are immortal, and lead lives that span far back into what we consider the fogs of history today. Every now and then, however, they leave tracks along the paths they walk, whispers of their presence that can be traced through the centuries, leaving an imprint on the world to this day. 

Sometimes this is intentional. Hugh was always conscious of images, and took great care to construct the picture painted of him and his kin in fables and stories and whispers on the street. To be a vampire is to be noble and elegant and a little bit prideful; it’s black velvet capes and charming, fanged smiles and hunting for virgin blood at night, for a dash of purposeful fear to keep away unwanted attention. He’s quite proud of how far his legacy carried. 

Sometimes the traces left are accidental. Kuro would never know, but there is a little patch of land in England, a cluster no bigger than a few, tiny villages, where old, weathered grandmothers still tell the young children the bedtime stories of their youth, of a cat and a wolf that walked together at night. The tales have warped over time, embellished with charming detail of the adventures they would have had together, but if Kuro were to listen in, he’d remember those walks with bittersweet fondness. 

Sometimes remnants of a Servamp’s life are plentiful, proof of their presence brought into tangible form, to be found and locked away centuries later in the dimly lit cellar of a mansion shrouded in secrets. 

Lily spent his immortal life among the noble and eccentric; men with money and time to invest in the beautiful things in life. He mingled with poets and painters, had his fair skin and gold hair woven into songs and sonnets still read to this day, and captured on canvas whenever he did not quite manage to escape another artist looking for a new model. He has been Adonis and Antinuous and Troilus; and once an artist whose advances he rejected named his painting Narcissus. Lily still gets annoyed whenever he lays eyes on it – it was not him who spent hours staring at his face; and he has never had much love for his own beauty.

Ok I’m probably not the best person to say this, but I’ve been seeing a lot of (as of right now) accurate insults on how the CGI approach for the Live Action Little Mermaid movie, but please be mindful that you don’t take things too far, and *especially* don’t start going after Halle Bailey (Ariel’s actress) and to a lesser extent, Ariel the character.

Antiblackness is still an issue in a lot of fandom spaces, and it doesn’t just come out as using nasty slurs or stereotypes. It manifests as drawing Black characters lighter and/or with more white features, it comes out as removing Black partners from ships, and it starts out as plausibly deniable insults that get the door open to microaggressions and outright nasty comments.

I’m not saying that all discussion of the movie should be stalled, or even if it turns out to be an artistic failure, that it doesn’t merit discussion. I’m saying that you shouldn’t extend your vitriol to the characters and actors.

If you really feel the need to insult her, it might be worth a little introspection. Ask yourself, “Do I resent that they changed Ariel, or that they changed Ariel in this way?”. You’re not irredeemable if your personal answer isn’t kind. Just be more careful, try and observe how that sort of world view affects your behavior to others, and then course correct.

A lot of little kids would love to see another Black Princess. A lot of little kids would love to have a Black mermaid as a main character. Hell, a lot of adults would love those too. Black fantasy characters have long been excluded, transformed, killed, merely in the background, relegated to stereotypes, villainized and have hardly ever in the spotlight, especially in major productions.

Don’t make it harder for kids (and adults!) to see themselves on screen. Don’t ruin their wonder. So don’t make unkind comments. Keep it to yourself. Frankly, Halle looks beautiful, and I can’t wait to see the sparkles in her fans’ eyes as she swims across the screen.

I think theres a certain level of heart break to jimmy's secret life episode 4 title that hasn't been acknowledged

it is titled "Its happening again" and in that episode jimmy and martyn become the first 2 reds on the server

every season before secret life jimmy had died and been out of the series first which we call the canary curse around these parts

so with that background knowledge theres this element of dread about that title, like he thought this might finally be the season where he broke the curse and didn't die first. yknow?

this sounds really stupid but i personally have a sort of curse? i don't believe in a higher power but I've noticed a pattern with my friendships where i tend to run away or everything tends to crumble around me between 3-6 months after going skating with the group? its really stupid and I'm just drawing connections between things that arent connected, they're coincidences. but the reason I'm saying this is because i genuinely feel a bit cursed. so its like... i know the dread; each time i make a new friend, become part of a new group. i feel like a ticking time bomb like its my fault everythings blown up before and i ought to warn them it'll happen again. i just have a big sense of dread each time i make new friends, feeling like i want to stay away, to not get so close so maybe I'll not feel so bad when it inevitably falls apart but eventually the momentum of a friend group, they pull me into their orbit and i jump full in almost like i don't remember the curse

jimmy each season says "i'm not going to be out first, I'm going to play it safe" but be it a soulmate getting blown up or just a series of freak accidents he always ends up first out. so the pure dread and knowing he can't escape being doomed by the narrative in that title has kinda come back and punched me in the throat.
