Yes they are! Generally, the more time it spends on land, the closer it will be to 5 calories than 4. The estimate was actually based on frogs and tadpoles, I had to make an educated guess.

My best source was a feeding chart from a reptile food website which sells whole small prey for consumption by snakes. It perfectly lists out the values of dozens of small animals, but no fish. So I took a note of the 4 calorie estimate, observed that an adult frog increases in calories compared to tadpoles (bucking the trend with the others on the list where younger animals are worth more caloric value) and went on to do more research

I couldn't find a source that broke down WHOLE prey caloric value like the chart, so I ended up comparing caloric value between rabbit fillets, chicken fillets, and fish fillets on human-centric nutrition websites. My hypothesis was mostly consistent, even with more species added. Fish (perch, flounder, pike) < Wild Mammal (rabbit, squirrel) < Poultry (chicken, turkey, quail). There was overlap between "classes", certain fish getting over the 100 hump, but generally there was a trend I boiled down into 4/5/6

This is consistent with how a lot of fish meat is actually water. In fact, cats quench a lot of their thirst from the food they eat. I also learned some very interesting stuff about the fat distribution in fish which is going to blow a bit of a hole in some of my Clan culture stuff lmaoooo, but I'll furiously swim across that obliterated bridge when I get there

But funfact! Fish oil is rendered fish fats and it is the form that unsaturated fat takes, whereas lard is what saturated fats become. I need to do more research into this topic to understand what kind of difference it would make in a wild cat's diet.

There was one big bucked trend though: salmonid meat was WAAAAY higher in fat and calories. Like, absurdly high. Like 150 cal trout fillet vs 110 cal of rabbit fillet vs 88 cal of perch fillet.

I do not know why that is. My guess is that maybe it's because they were taking the number from farmed salmonids? Maybe it's because they're particularly fatty fish? Perhaps this is just the raw power of salmon slammin'.

Anyway, at one point I was trying to estimate exact caloric value per popular prey species, but decided I didn't have the "backing" to get so exact with the numbers since I was doing estimates with the fish. I'll do the work if it comes down to it, but for now, 4/5/6 is a quick, easy guideline you can use for just about any WC project.

It seriously started from a comment and it never left my head till it was sketched out. That is, until I wanted to colour it and had to figure out how to translate the WIP to the final product.

There's a lot of handwaving and blind mixing of her original armour design and supposedly traditional Malaysian/Indonesian clothing, but it was fun and I hide behind the "artistic licensing" excuse. But it was fun to translate Bloodthirst into a keris, especially considering the blade itself was curved to begin with.

This honestly took way too long in between personal and work related situations, but it was fun to come up with, even if 80% of the extra work I agonised over was self-inflicted lmao.

Again, hats off to the genius idea/concept from @si-lantro.

On the battlefield, the sense that serves as your first language will always be reiatsu. If you have them, vision and audition are key, too, but they are the harmonies, that which augments. You feel the pressure first and foremost, edges brimming over where reiryoku within becomes that pressure without. It would be easier if it were pressure like a headache, isolated in space and pulsing, but the pressure comes from everywhere at once—where you enemy is or has been, and if you are very skilled, where they intend to be. (If you don’t beat them there.) A million tiny pressures, streaking and fraying. The only time you can feel your own reiatsu is when the battlefield is so turned upside down it is no longer certain whose is whose. When you get lost in the cacophony.

Part of the reason the Academy teaches the crisp, hard binary of Hollows and otherwise, energy and blight, is because in real life, in the midst of that cacophony, it is so hard to tell the difference sometimes the only thing that saves you is falling back on your certainty: Know evil as an absolute, and purify it. (That it is so hard to tell the difference should not be taken as an insinuation that no difference exists. Perish the thought.)

Imagine fighting side-by-side, or trying to. Have you ever? Only those with incredible control and attunement to each other would attempt it: Reiatsu roostertailing from your adversaries and partners alike, pressure raining down so hard these giant things you know to be there blink out of existence, lose their edges, become everywhere and nowhere. And of course, bodies in flight, pressure fighting pressure, is a dance in itself. You’re used to it, the pressure, the fluctuations that make the reishi beneath your feet resonate and roll. But get enough bodies in motion and that can snap around on anyone at the wrong place, the wrong time, and all the while you never having touched each other.

Being a neurodivergent teenager is finding something broken in a store, thinking that it would be nice of you to try and fix it so the employees don’t have to worry, and then getting yelled at and berated by one of the employees (who said he already fixed it once before, so it couldn’t have been you that broke it), while the other employee who saw it broken before you got over there just sits and watches, and so you tell ur mom and she gets mad at you saying that “you should know not to touch things that don’t belong to you” :(

Moral of the story guys apparently it’s not social acceptable to try and fix something that you find broken, and I wish I knew that before trying to help </3

There’s a couple of lyrics in a song off of Twenty One Pilot’s new album titled “At The Risk of Feeling Dumb” that I’m convinced are a Top Gun reference like

Other than the obvious reference to fighter jets and ejection seats, the first line references Kawasaki Zs. I’m not an expert on motorcycles, but I have a strong feeling that the Kawasaki GPZ900R that Maverick rides in the first Top Gun happens to somehow relate to the Z-series of motorcycles called out in that first verse. Maybe it’s just coincidence that there’s a Z in the motorcycle’s model number, but it feels like an intentional reference to Top Gun when combined with the line about fighter jets.
