kind of getting emotional about Pattern right now. he knew Shallan would probably end up killing him. he knew. he was there when Testament died, and yet he still bonded her. he was so invested in learning about humans and finding a way to save his people that he chose to go on what he believed was a suicide mission because he thought the knowledge he’d gain would protect them. i know he’s a Cryptic, but he is Honorspren to me

Pattern is my favorite. Shallan says "well then why don't you marry Adolin" and he gets excited, not because he'd like to marry Adolin but because the very idea of learning about whether or not he could is so thrilling to him. He just loves learning and lies. Some spren are dogs and some spren are cats and Pattern is a cat.
