Hikaruuuu for the character ask please? Esp now that you read through the manga again. Manga Hikaru def changed my perspective on Hikaru as a character so I'm curious about your overall stance on the boi

How I feel about this character:

→ he’s so good and so annoying and i love him so much. you’re so right that reading the manga completely changed my opinion on him-- he just gets so much more screentime and so much more development. i think he’s a really interesting character, and i should give him more credit, honestly. he’s like. a ball of anger and love and yearning and selfishness and self-improvement and i think he’s so good. 

All the people I ship romantically with this character:

→ haruhi, kind of? i’ve written some hikaharu that lowkey convinced me of them, but i’m not like. intense about it 

My non-romantic OTP for this character:

→ i’m there’s obviously kaoru, first of all, gotta get that one out of the way. other than that, i think he and mori are best friends, which we see a bit of in the manga. i think that hikaru spends a lot of time talking to mori and mori spends a lot of time talking some sense into him about basic things that hikaru (because he is so anxious all the time) is stressed about. 

My unpopular opinion about this character:

→ i think that hikaru is just. so straight. like. painfully straight. he’s the only cishet in the club, and as more and more of them come out, he gets progressively more uncomfortable. then kaoru comes out and it takes a hot sec for him to adjust to that, but once he does, he is like. the most overly enthusiastic ally you will ever find.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon:

→ literally any of his plotlines from the manga would have been great in the anime, but other than that, i’m pretty happy with his ending? i think some canon hikaharu would be quality though
