hey btw be very careful when like. getting prosthetics/like. idk shell or metal replacements or whatever the term may be for certain pokemon!!

when pokemon like the pawniard line lose their headcrests, it showcases they have lost a battle. they may still fight but not for power or leadership. its kinda like retirement. a bisharp or kingambit thats head is chipped or breaks steps down as leader. they will never fight to become a leader again and jn some cases may be ousted from their army.

while you CAN replace their horn, be careful while doing so. it can cause your pokemon to see itself as a fraud and end up sulking everywhere and refusing to engage with others of its species OR exhibit hyper aggression if it believes it now no longer has to worry about losing its crest because you'll always just get it a new one. additionally, if others of its species discover its crest is fake there is a chance they may kill it for misleading them.

another steel type to be careful with is aggron. ive seen people talk about welding replacement metal to replace holes and chips and stuff or polishing and buffing out scratches and DO NOT DO THAT.

while you technically could and the aggron wouldnt experiance pain, it would be very fucking pissed. aggrons wear damage to their metal armor with pride. its an example of all sorts of fights and hardships theyve survived. aggrons with more damage to their armor are better respected among their species and its used to distinguish among aggrons

aggrons who respect eachother may mark eachother with their horns outside of fights. during a territory dispute, aggrons with more damage to their armor sometimes win without having to fight because the less marked up aggron views them as more powerful and more worthy of the territory. aggrons will scratch up the armor of arons before sending them off into the world.

by removing the damage to an aggrons armor you are telling your aggron you do not value its history. it is not worthy of respect. it does not need to be recognizable by other aggron. obviously if its genuinely dangerous for a certain crack or hole to be there go ahead and fix it but otherwise do not fucking get rid of the damage!!!

for many crustacean pokemon, dont worry about lost limbs. they can regrow claws and legs. slowly, but they can. obviously if its missing both its claws it might need some help but i promise the crabrawler will have its claws back eventually.

theres a lot of sfuff but like generally do your research on everything dont nust automatically assume your pokemon wants or needs a prosthetic. pokemon dont have the same concept of ableism as humans do and often time dont care if their buddy is missing a leg or an eye.

JOAQUIN COBALT (THE UNTITLEDVERSE)

This feels accurate for Joaquin considering he begins The UnTitledverse as an adolescent, and the series follows his growth and youth to adulthood. Joaquin has the weight of the world (or rather multiverse) on him, but, he still has time to be a child, to be a teen, to be his own identity, with Maisie, Mario, Calvin and all his found family and friends to share the weight.

Religious themes (including the trauma) for Silva go brrr! Like what else is there to say?

HAOYU ANABUKI (LIFE, DESPAIR & MONSTERS)

Yeah this makes sense for them. Haoyu is someone who's not used to love and when it comes it is gonna be the most life-changing thing for them. For once something they will have to make a commitment towards keeping if they want it. Haoyu is also the type to go in a panic as well as overthink; including full-on denial.

MARISSA "RESS" BISHOP (A RADIOACTIVE CALAMITY OF LOVE, BOMBS & GORE [FALLOUT])

While this definitely suits Ress at her best, I don't think it encapsulates everything about her. Because while Ress' love is bountiful and ageless and endless... there's also the fear of losing it all, because Ress will outlive everyone she knows because her own natural mortality outlasts everyone else's. The only person that would be around the longest with her (and meet her at what would be considered old age for a hybrid species like them) would have been her older half-brother, Ore... but even that is cruelly taken away from her by their father Urias and his Occult. Yeah, so while this definitely does shine a light on the happiness and thrill Ress would feel with her lover (prime example being Piper), it doesn't acknowledge the grief she'd eventually have to face.

Caribbean Lobster

Caribbean Lobster Strolling through the local aquarium one day, not long ago, a crustacean of magnificent size and color made its way to the front of its exhibition tank to inspect passersby. I could not help but wonder how out of place it must have felt next to its drab, but brawny clawed cousins from this region. And I wondered further still, just how such a spectacular looking creature must…

All I’ve wanted was to see a crab and my patience has been rewarded

VERY IMPORTANT a dam in the Netherlands, the weerdsluis lock, is directly on a migratory path for spawning fish. They have a worker stationed there to open the door for the fish, but they can take a while to open it. So to keep the fish from getting preyed on by birds they installed a doorbell. Only, the fish don't have hands to ring the doorbell. If you go to their website, they have a LIVE CAMERA AND A DOORBELL that YOU RING FOR THE FISH when they're waiting, and then the dam worker opens the door for them! I can't express how obsessed I am with this. look at this shit. oh my god.

Please check on the fish doorbell once in a while :)

The cute little red crab, from your aquarium store

The small red crab so commonly seen in aquarium stores, in the freshwater tropicals section, is Perisesarma bidens, historically known as Sesarma bidens. Historically it was often retailed as the Thai red crab, or simply the red crab. More properly this species, Which is actually quite variable in its appearancw, is the red clawed mangrove crab. Although it arrived in shipments from Thailand, P. bidens has a broad swathe of distribution, from East Africa into the West Pacific. It is a small and appealing crab, with a 5 cm or 2 inch carapace. Not surprisingly, they were often purchased for freshwater setups, when they were more commonly available in stores. Sadly, most of these crabs are too short lived in our tanks. P. bidens is in fact a herbivorous to detrivorous little crab from mangrove habitats, with a preference for estuarine forests dominated by Kandelia, but also of Avicennia and Brugueria. Such communities flourish upriver of the more salt tolerant tree, Rhizophora, but are still growing along river stretches that are subject to tidal influences. Within the mangrove food web, teeming P. bidens are important consumers of fallen leaves and algae.

Like the famous mudskippers from similar habitats, P. bidens is amphibious, so it must have access to land as well as water, and care must thus be taken that the crabs do not escape. Their water should be brackish, perhaps st a specific gravity of 1.005 to 1.015, rather than marine or freshwater, because these crabs are estuarine. Water temperture should be maintained at 24 to 26 degrees. As a burrowing crab, P. bidens also needs a reasonably deep substrate of fine sand or mud, not a gravel or a bare bottom. Their natural diet is primarily macroalgae and mangrove leaves. It consumes both fresh and decaying plant matter, and has been observed to consume some animal protein by opportunistic scavenging, such as when encountering dead fish and insects. In the aquarium, P. bidens will nibble many foods, but requires a diet that is biased towards algal and other vegetable components, such as Spirulina. Such a crab is not predicted to chase live prey around the swamp, or the home aquarium.

In the aquarium, P. bidens can show aggressive behavior towards passing fishes. This is because the species is territorial, and not because it has predatory intentions towards the fishes. Claims that P. bidens nips at sleeping fishes are unverified, and unlikely owing to the natural diet and feeding habits of this crab. Although it cannot be ruled out this species might, occasionally, seize upon a sleeping fish, it remains unproven that they ever do so, and the form and function of their grasping claws, are quite unsuited to such behavuors. Certainly it is one of the least risky crabs, to cohabit with sensibly sized fishes, that will neither annoy the crabs as a target, nor less intentionaly by their regular activities. Unfortunately, P. bidens, as a herbivore, is very likely to consume live plants, ruling out this species as a suitable member of the planted rank community. A number of P. bidens can cohabit, but only in a suitably large aquaterrarium, with hiding places, broken lines of sight, and opportunities to burrow. The decor must afford them much opportunity to retreat, as they would among mangrove roots in the wild.
