So, I recently started writing a WIP where the kids get stranded in Gotham due to an accident in Raon's lab and many of my thoughts were on Cale simply disliking Bruce for allowing his children to take the front lines of a war he started because when Cale brought the kids to a war against a motherfucking god, they didn't get a single scratch on them while this dude fights somewhat strong humans and got his kid killed-- Raon what did you just say?? The small one with a sword has a metal SPINE?? The other one doesn't have a spleen???

But then I realized, Cale's a redhead. Who is very good with kids. Has morals who align not too far from the no killing rule(Cale tries to preserve as many lives as possible but understands that sometimes you need to just kill a fuck). He's a REDHEAD. One who looks pretty and unassuming but could kick butt.

Dick would be all over that.

I think my favorite thing about Netflix One Piece is that at first, it appears that they've made Zoro much smarter than he is in the anime. But then over time there's this dawning realization.

he's not smart.

He's just very confidently stupid.

He comes across as smarter because he doesn't talk enough for it to be immediately clear that his brain is just a hamster wheel with a hamster that only runs if he's holding a sword.

Zoro only looks smart because he's standing next to Luffy, who helped set the standard for shounen-protagonist brain damage.

love artist impressions based on data of exoplanets but for some reason absolutely thrilled by the Shittiest Actual Photographs we have of them. the obvious thing is that unlike stars, exoplanets are 1)small and 2)not usually emitting any strong visible light. this makes them near impossible to get a clear photo of and every image you see of a fully defined sphere with colors or clouds is entirely from the mind of an artist based on the available data and conclusions of said data of that particular insterstellar piece of Thing. every photograph of the real physical object is always Very small and ... doesn't tell you much because the planet itself only takes up maybe 3% of the image

if i had to take a guess, to get any visual on them you need them to be reflecting the light of their nearby star At An Angle Facing The Camera, and slash or giving off their own infrared light, and even then theyre still So Small that they show up as just little glowing jellybeans

when it comes to Different Kinds Of Stuff In Space just being able to barely see these things that we know exist makes me bizarrely nervous and delighted, not for the fear of like oh aliens are gonna fucking get me or anything but i think for just being aware of something unfathomable far out of our reach. like an ant suddenly realizing that its living on a massive globe larger than anything its ever understood and on the other side of that globe is like, a dilapidated barn or something else seemingly inane in the grand scheme of things and the ant has to sit and think about what that barn is like for the thrill i suppose

Great question! I'll say I haven't put much thought into their place in the AU since, neither are likely to make more than a name drop appearance for several reasons. But future one shots I might explore their place in this AU more.

BUT thinking about in universe ill say Yes and No-

Tim of course knows his old friends, but for the sake of "Distancing himself from literally every person he's ever known or loved for the so caller greater good" he never "met" them.

From the comics I have read they all met at Highschool at either Gotham city HS or Gotham Heights HS- Well in this AU Tim only EXCLUSIVLY went to "Gotham Academy" which was the elite private school instead of its public school counterparts.

The rest of the Waynes went to either City or Heights for whatever reason- Jason (having lived longer this time around) transfered to Gotham Academy for some of its college level programs. Aka why Tim had to deal with seeing him.

Ives and Bernard have both independently "met" Cardinal- but never for too long. And they both dread the day they ever meet Timothy Drake in person.

Aka- Tim has sucsessfully evaded his former friends who spend their life none the wiser about him other than as a local tabloid figure and a vigilante even more mysterious than the Batman himself

Thinking about 15-16 SKK hc, where Dazai likes to take every chance he gets to yeet off a building and yell “TRUST FALL!”

Of course, Chuuya has to jump after him because that’s his partner and he has to be the one to end the idiot before a fall does. So he grabs him and tucks the moron’s head into his chest to take the hits.

Sometimes, they land in trash bins cushioned by bags of rotting banana peels and fish; sometimes, they come out soaking wet from landing in a pool, or sometimes, Dazai calculates it so they land on top of a restaurant’s awning to say, “Wow! Chuuya, I knew you would fall for me!” just to watch his partner become flustered and grab him by the collar to shake him around like a rag doll while spouting curses at him.

Dazai obviously laughs about it but deep down, this is just one of the things he has learned to love about Chuuya. That no matter what, Chuuya is loyal and will be there to catch him if he falls. Dazai will be there too, after all, he can learn to breathe, eat, fall in love, and die with Chuuya.
