In which Capitano realizes that he is simply a fool in love

Knight AU, Knight!Capitano and Royal!Reader, slight fluff to angst, possible one-sided love/unrequited love, hurt and only slight comfort (if you squint really closely)

Regal, elegant, refined. It is almost comical to the knight who has witnessed all your clumsy moments behind closed doors.

Gone were the times of youthful adventures and endless mischief. From sneaking into the nearby village and avoiding supplementary lessons to facing the reprimanding of exasperated tutors, Capitano and you were inseparable since the day the king assigned the former as your personal guard.

To be honest, it was quite the feat to have Capitano even entertaining the idea of skirting duties. A young boy then, temptation was easier when you spun a tale of needing to run errands and that it was more training to prepare him for the many dangers you’ll both face in your later years. Yes, that’s how it would always go. You, with a cunning tongue, taking advantage of that growing need to uphold justice and to become the epitome of a true knight was a rather common sight then. Something that also turned into a small prickly thorn as Capitano and you matured. And, the only memories in which Capitano knew more than to be disciplined and how to simply be nothing more than a young boy indulging in childish curiosities.

Fleeting days of joy have ended for both you and Capitano have grown into your respective roles upon coming of age. A poised royal diligent in their studies, committing to their promise for prosperity and wielding their intellect for sake of security. And Capitano, an honorable and just man who became your most trusted knight—unyielding against the daring few who swore to harm the crown and the astute voice you needed when guidance of others was nothing more than false reverence. That is what you and Capitano were. A royal and a knight—bound by the strings of fate and duty to your roles.

Still, Capitano was but a man. And a man he was, coming to the realization that his heart too can yearn for another.

It’s in the way that the feather quill swiftly glides across the parchment in front of you that day. Jet black ink sealing away your future that had long been decided before either of you could comprehend it as a possibility. For duty and for honor, he would have said in moments of doubt and hesitation. It is but a necessary move to protect all those that you cherish ever so much.

And yet, it’s the almost inaudible sigh that has him second guessing himself. Then again, perhaps it is no longer impossible to pretend that he isn’t a fool for believing that fate would give him one small chance. How could he do such a thing when his throat was constricting? Every objection to this arrangement died like a candle reaching the end of its wick. Every letter received and sent was another dagger to his armored heart. Fury, frustration, guilt; a well of emotions dragged him down to the depths below.

The fateful day eventually reared its ugly head around the corner. All preparations were finished ahead of time and it was Capitano who was selected to escort you to be received by the neighboring kingdom so that the ceremony can finally commence. It made perfect sense for why Capitano was chosen. Having been there through thick and thin, growing into the fine knight that he is as you an empathetic and respected ruler, encouraging you that what you are doing is only right despite his clenched fists. Constantly reassuring you that you are more than prepared even though he was not ready to accept a cruel reality.

It made perfect sense. To everyone but Capitano as he stood at the gate, silently toying with the idea of asking you to run away with him. With each step forward, the regret became more suffocating. So much so that all Capitano could focus on was the increasing distance between you and him. Armor too heavy, throat too parched, mind far too distracted. How long would he have to endure this?

“This is Capitano. Knight Commander and my most trusted guard,” your voiced echoed.

Capitano remained silent, regarding the soon-to-be-king with respect that was expected of him. The man was loyal through and through to the sword wedged in his heart he so readily handed over and all he could do was peer up at the wielder at the end—you—who he swore to when he bent the knee that fateful day.

He could only nod in the end, bowing his head and biting his tongue to save the remnants of his heart. He was but a sword at the end of the day. Hardened and shaped to cast aside what distracts him. Merely a knight commander who so happened to have grown up alongside you and has been the shoulder you weeped on in times of need. An extension of the crown and soon-to-be the other man who would stand by your side once the marriage takes place. It was selfish of him to think that he’d escape his role so easily with just a few words. He knew it from the day he walked into that long corridor alongside the former commander, all but naive to the image he had to uphold. He was a knight commander. A swordsman who so happened to have the right tact to earn his spot and acknowledgement from the crown.

Nothing more, nothing less.

IDK, the idea of one of Minecraft's original, oldest Youtubers being a silver fox is just really funny to me.

Also because of the mask, having big ears and a tail to emote with will make him a lot more expressive (I will probably draw comics with these guys eventually, just knowing how I fanart.)

I am not immune to Eefo Propaganda.

I really like the idea of the triple-heart headband that gets scratched out over the course of a series. (Not sure how that'd work with series that don't go by a traditional 3-life system, though. Maybe they're filled in, go dark, then get scratched out?)

Half tempted to turn his shoulder-spots into hearts, too.

Gem:

Already shows signs of going for heart-level skins, which I am super excited about drawing. (Like the eye change in Secret life, and the target on her overalls in Wild Life)

Also love the bandanna, it's so cute.

Her entire vibe is adorable but threatening, and that's honestly one of the most fun to capture.

This is also when I started adding quotes to some of these, as I've been drawing them in semi-alphabetical order.

In my heart of hearts, that heart on her overalls is made of sequins.

Grian:

A red macaw, conditionally.

Of course I had to draw Watcher Grian, I am not immune to Watcher Propaganda.

God I love drawing feathers. Figuring out how to fit a Macaw's feather pattern into the ear-wings was super fun, I think I did a pretty good job?

The scaled hands and feet are not going to show up on any of the other bird-folk on this series, that's a unique to Grian thing.

As another winner, Grian also gets a little crown and the sun near his name.

I love Grian's sense of humor and how wild and delighted his laugh is, how often he audibly claps at stuff that happens throughout the series, and how easily he makes things fun for other players, so I really wanted to pay homage to that.

Now, about pilgrim story:

This is what our Meerkat friend sees during their flasback moment, which is also the same things our Lamb sees when Clauneck shows them Narinder's card (you can even see both). Somehow, they get to see what Lamb saw. Maybe it's some sort of an astral thing. There's not much I can add, both because we have limited information and my main theories are based around the game itself.

Chemach

For a moment if you pay attention, you can see little Chemach, clearly way younger and without her crown/s. We probably will learn what caused her madness and her state of mind, how did she got a crown, how she killed other bearers and basically all about the feather family. From what I could read, it says ''WHY NOT CHEMACH!'' in the dialogue bubble. And she has legs.

The fucking adition

We have never seen this monster before. It does remind of the massive monster, it's clear that this creature is a spawn from the deepest rings of hell. Or maybe it's a new species of divines being added considering that one has fur and the game doesn't have demons but has angels (???'s babies and the enemy)

This new addition might gave us a new adventure route in the new update, other than purgatory and realms of the bishops. Maybe a realm for sins completely?

Notice how the white part we thought of their face is just a mask? And the similarity between the 1st and 2nd skull?

Edit: So, the skull does has the name "god_skull" in the files. But I still like to think that guardians are related to the skull.

In my Story theory, which I find absolutely canon, I talked about Aym and Baal being demi-gods. Their fighting is literally same with ''Guardian'' (Baal's three hit melee combo and Aym's fireballs) Which technically means that Guardians ARE part of demi-gods. Sorta?

Even their idles are same!

And just like I said before, Aym and Baal ARE guardians.

Baal: Guardian/Protector of heaven

But there is something that takes my attention. Look at guardian's and Baal's weapons. Both are Sun. And, Baal's HP is higher than Aym's. So, does that mean that Aym hasn't fully reached godhood? His scar does match with the Guard's but I doubt it means anything.

Back to the subject, that the theory for Spore Grotto's skull being a God's might be wrong. It may be demi-god's too.

Bigger bodies:

Kickin' breathes Ylang ylang gas like how Catnap does to the Red Smoke

Ylang ylang gas is colored creamy yellow. It can also make anyone within the vicinity to fall asleep. And like Catnap, he can control the dream you are having

His gas can boost confidence (bigger bodies) and his plush is ideal for timid children (toy)

Despite the cramped up spaces,Kickin's bigger bodies can fly, although low range like a real life chicken/rooster

When he roars, he can emit the caw sounds of an aggressive rooster, mixed with deep growling

Like Catnap and Dogday, he can speak. I imagine his voice to be the raspy and a little static version of a young man's voice. His voice is a little high pitched compared to Catnap's and Dogday's voices. Also, before the hour of joy, his voice box was in perfect condition (unlike CatNap's whose voice box is broken before and after the massacre) And now his voice, although has a little static, is still functional and can speak steadily. (If only he was alive in the game😞)

He lurks around the caverns area

His jumpscare would be jumping on you with his talons pointed at you, his wings wide and his caw deafening your ears. Kind of like how birds of prey hunt and pin down their food

He is the only smiling critter who can walk on two. I know Catnap can stand on two legs but he's mostly on four. So KC is the only one who walks and run on two. Tho he can also walk on 4 if he's crawling or crouching

Cartoon:

He LOVES to comb his feather crown and owns various shades

Kickin chicken may be shown in the cartoons to eat bugs occasionally, which the others will be weirded out. Pickypiggy smiles and gives him a thumbs up, attempting to support him whilst smiling awkwardly and sweating bullets. Kickin offered her to eat but she immediately shook her head 😆 he eats with pride✨

Other than that, he likes any pastry food and leafy greens, ice cream and wafers

He can sing and play the guitar. He likes to listen to pop music

After doing activities cool kids do, he likes to rest on hammocks, specifically the ones made in rattan and net

He cried watching the Titanic movie or any tragic romance in general

He's a gentleman who can cry because of movies💅

He often takes random selfies and pictures with the smiling critters. He posts it on Playin'stagram (instagram)

He likes to be a model for Craftycorn whenever she's drawing, and for bobby bearhug whenever she needs a fashion assistant

He joins in to the girls' make up sessions, sometimes dragging catnap, bubba and dogday in whenever the girls hunt for make-up models

He's optimistic and refuses to let the negative things keep him down, he can also be stubborn at times and doesnt think about the consequences (which causes him trouble)

He's the loud, supportive type of friend, shouting shit like "You can do it!!" Watch out for aggressive positivity XD (the difference between him and dogday's attitude is that dogday is a more gentler version of his positivity, but can also as get loud and supportive as kickin is) He's also the type to not read the room and sometimes shout supportive words in the wrong time (for comedic purpose lol)

I heavily referenced this image for my design since this is my first attempt at a comic! The only thing I directly copied is the comic frame layout since I don't know how to space stuff out yet and wanted a starting point. The rest is referenced similar to my first piece of fanart, where I wanted to pull from the ideas without directly copying.

Similarities in poses and such were entirely accidental and if I redid this art piece (I don't plan to cuz this took 9hrs as is) I would make sure there is far more difference from the ref image.

I think Ogygia is the cause of the white-streaks in this au, so when Tommy comes back from his prison with Revivebur, he has the white streaks. It's also why I made sure Fundy's streaks are not white. Couldn't decide whether Tommy's final breath is a scene of the fall from the Logsted-spire or him drowning in the sea, so I just left it semi-ambigous.

Also! Any scene that has happened by now in the story has a background, while future predictions have the same dull blue background and have some minor inconsistencies (Fundy's eyes, Tommy's outfit & possible hair streak, etc), because I think Eret gets the vague future but not the details (leading to some vagueness in the song).

Other details are the friendship emerald & crow feather on Philza's wind bag, the lil bird on the bag that led Tommy to believe the bag was birdseed originally (I'm making this canon @charlybvnny) & Eret having a gold-colored blindfold because a mortal prophet wouldn't have a crown. Little Tommy doesn't have a focus on the discs yet, so his button is the L'Manberg Flag. Tommy is falling next to the Your Tubbo Compass, & it floating away shows him losing hope of returning home.

The blood dripping from the bottom of ghost-Tommy symbolizes the beings he kills without mercy (Egg-Sirens, Suitors & Scylla sacrifices), the chest blood is for him stabbing the shit out of Dream, the red buttons show the death of his non-human attachments (the discs & lmanberg) and the cheek slash shows his fight with his crew during Mutiny.

You know what i want to see Gemi(ni) with a gremlin angel reader who's just the definition of chaotic good, whenever the think the twins need a break reader will just pull out the copies they made of their fanfic (they always find it) and just start reading it aloud

It's nice to see people in the store.

For a while, the twin devils were the only customers at the quaint, little comic shop they frequented in the human world. It worked in favor of Gemini's anxiety, Gemi's abrasion towards any living thing, and most importantly of all - it was right across the street from where that breath-taking angel did their business...

Moving on, the shore recently gained a boost in popularity by having people come in to read for the growing crowds. More often than not the stories would be one straight off the shelves, but if they were lucky an aspiring author or hobbyist had their chance to shine.

While it meant their safe haven was tarnished, the demons were happy for the shop owners as they were decent company. Another bright side was today's speaker had a far more captivating voice than the those before. Just hearing the tail end of their words from down the street put a spring in their step. Not to mention, the story they were reading sounded familiar - almost close to heart.

" "And I'll still love you for eternity and a day." The angel soothes their demonic love, hands pure as a new dawn cast over ones of wax and spilled blood. "Let the halos and feathers of my fallen kin be molded into the crown you place atop my head as we become one in your domain. And scene"

Tears and applause flow from majority of the crowd while the authors are left sweating bullets in the back. That story was born from someone's heart. The conjoined hearts surrounded by muscles made of wax and layers of fear and dread. That was a story the twins worked on together. The gore a product of Gemini's wishes for a backbone and the days they grow agitated away from their true love. The soft, domestic air what Gemi has always dreamed of, but too afraid to speak. The two collab yet again in the scream that tears through their human form. The angel looks over at them, waving.

"Ah, you two - Hello! Did you enjoy the story? It's one of my favorites from this author.

That haunting lurking little smirk of their's shines the twin's way - a ray of sunlight in the hell they themself brought onto the devils.

"Kidnap them."

Gemini ducts their head into the neck of their coat as they whisper shout to themselves. "What is up with you and kidnapping people?!"

"Those are for experiments. This is for marriage. They're already aware of our feelings in a way so it's fine. There's a mirror in the bathroom, nobody will see us."

"Do you know how much trouble we can get in! Hey-" Gemini screams in turmoil from the recess of their mind as Gemi takes over. They storm through the crowd, grabbing you by the wrist and marching towards the bathroom. You clap your hands together, halo appearing once you're away from the crowd.

"Oh! Are we going to make out in the back just like Jimmy does in that one story with the baker after slaughtering their ex-partner who tried to come back into their life?"

"No, we're getting married just like the story you felt so inclined to tell the world."

"Boo - I wanted to try their strawberry pie."

I put a decent amount of thought into the throne's designs!

In this essay I will-

Hootbons was the most difficult to design. Good thing I started with her's first!

Since her OC maple is a rubberhose cartoon, I went with a 20s technology theme. The 20s were a time of great technological advancement. Radio, Television, even Vaccum cleaners!

Just cluttering a bunch of 20s technology together didn't look very good, though, so I added maple tree branches along with animation themed items like pencils and animation cels.

Mushy's is just a slightly redesigned version of her throne from her execution. I added a few more mushroom types for variety.

Dia's was easy. It's just his crown as a throne.

Since I found 0104-vkta from her human Gangle art, That's what I based her throne on! You'll see a combination of the happy and sad masks in the middle.

Loxely's was also simple, she's a flower. I made her throne a flower.

Goose's is supposed to be a goose feather, but I looked up references for duck feathers instead for some reason. (also, I just drew generic bird feet instead of goose feet??)

since Rabid is a jester with a clown nose (a mix of a medieval form of entertainment and the more modern concept of a circus clown), I decided to mix a medieval throne with props you'd find in a circus!

Burrotello's throne was made reaalllly late in the game, when I had already finished most of the sketches for part one, but I felt bad not including her since she was the only new member of our discord at the time.

I went with a gothic theme for her's. I don't think her clothes can really be considered goth, but that's what I went for. Maybe it's the earrings.

You'll also notice that, unlike the others, she doesn't have anything on the backrest! I forgot it 😭 (this design element is an important theme.)

Just realised I forgot to include Ark-fork!

Her's was pretty simple, it's just a throne made of bones. There wasn't really any planning for this one!

Okay, so the backrests! Each of the thrones have a circular element in that area (except for Burrotello because I forgot, and Dia's and Mushy's aren't really circular, but you get it). They are meant to represent halos. If you look at the backgrounds, you'll see eyes on the balcony of the elite's seating section:

And, it's not very visible since the large thrones are covering it up, but there are wings on the back wall behind the elites.

Multiple eyes and wings are commonly attributed to biblically accurate angels

The elites sit high above everyone else, surrounded by angelic imagery with "halos" behind their heads. It is a very clear show of their hubris, of their willigness to play god not only with their AUS, but with their own audience, deciding who lives or dies by the wave of a hand (i.e. executions).

When I describe "the elites" here, I am specifically referring to how they are portrayed as characters in my comic. This is not a comment on the real people behind these sonas.

all he needs to do is wait for the archer to fall asleep and the rest is history. as paimon guides a sleeping daryl through the woods, weaving him through trees with the acute awareness he'd display when awake, it takes but a snap of his fingers to have him jolt awake in the real world.

unluckily for the guardian, the demon makes the transition from dream to reality all too seamless, his false pursuit of a peter just always out of sight translating well as paimon borrows his host's voice and beckons him deeper into the dark.

eventually, through the thorn-ridden undergrowth and the unforgiving bark path, he emerges into a clearing that does not look like it belongs. almost peaceful, a gentle fog rolling in that gives the space an ethereal glow; the moonlight an unnaturally big spotlight directly above.

no peter, naturally, but something else directly to daryl's left: a shrike perched in the nearest tree, its resting place not too far from the man's head. it watches him with a beady eye, head on a tilt that gives the impression it's seeing him. its white feathers glisten like jewels in the moonlight, its black tail seeming as dark as night itself.

"so i might have told a teensy little lie," the bird says, and no sooner does it speak is it disappearing in an animated POOF! of black smoke. from behind daryl: "hoh-lee! it's you, it's really you!"

airborne is the 'man' that greets him, and comically too; one leg tossed over the other as if reclining on a well-loved armchair, arms tucked behind his head as if he's never experienced worry in his life. a small crown floats above his head.

"oh you're going to have to forgive me if i'm a little starstruck. this is SO. exciting for me! i mean, DARYL DIXON, in the fl̵e̵s̷h̷!̵"

Lord Calroy Cruller - No npc leaves a lasting impression more than Calroy. From his physical design to his charming personality, wonderful inside jokes and intense plot twist he is an incredible, one of a kind character. No npc has such an epic backstabbing speech, nor such impressive pants. He charmed us all and his betrayal impacted not just King Amethar but the audience as well. His secret genius plan, his murder attempt against the king, his killer one liners. Nobody beats it. In the background from the very beginning, he is an essential part to a crown of candy and helped give us the most badass survival of any player. Amethar for sure should have died there, and yet he survived. Calroy MAKES a crown of candy. He elevates it to a truly glorious game-of-thrones-but-better story full of the perfect traitorous secrets and blindsides the show needed. Nobody can beat that.

I specifically did not use the word abusive in that post about Thor giving Loki reason to fear him. If you're reading 'abusive' into that inherently.... that's not true nor my bad. I did use it in a hypothetical scenario post a few days earlier which was not meant to say 'this is what happened in canon' but that *if they were* abusive to each other (i.e. if Thor was more of a bully than he is often shown, which is a common headcanon given how arrogant and rude he was in Thor 1) that it's still ripe ground for interesting yummy works. You don't have to share that taste btw.

"Punishment" a rdr fanfiction.

A short rdr fanfiction in an au where it was not Agent Ross who killed John.

It was like looking at a ghost, seeing you that is, because while I recognized you as your own person, as the little kid I knew all those years ago, running around asking if anyone had found any comic books and making flower crowns for your mother, I also saw him in you.

I could see his determination in your eyes, the kind that only came from strong desire and a feeling of unjustness, unrightfulness, your life was not easy growing up, was it? We tried our best, we all did, to keep you safe and out of danger, to give you a better life than we had had. I am sorry it didn’t work out, I am sorry I made it even worse.

You wear your hair like he did when we were young, down to your shoulders. I bet it is a mess to brush out in the mornings, I remember his was, he always complained about, would often ask me to help, though only when we were out of the eyes of the others, when they couldn’t see my hands softly stroking over his rough hair, brushing it out ever so carefully.

The fact that he ever denied you as his seems ridiculous looking at you now, like a bad joke no one would even find funny because the truth is so obvious… Yet that being said, you are different from him, even when you hold his fun and wear his hat, the one with the small feather, you are different, you are naive, you are sloppy, aggressive, you don’t have his skill or his finesse.

This isn’t your life, is it? This is your first time pointing a gun at a man, is it not? It is quite funny actually as the last time I did it, it was at him. My life will be the first you take, seems fitting as the last I took was your fathers.

It brings me joy because it tells me you didn’t have to grow up as he, stealing, robbing, murdering, having a noose around your neck by the age of twelve. He did right by you, gave you all he never had.

I guess another difference between the two of you is that you don’t stall, he did, I did. He did it because he cared for me, I doubt you even remember me, to him I was a friend, maybe more, to you I am the man who ripped your father from you, that is why you have already pulled the trigger. Your father hadn’t been able to, while he had pointed the gun at me, he didn’t pull it, he had talked to me, slowly lowering it as my hands remained in the air. We had too many memories for him to just shot, yet he had too much on his shoulders for him not to point the gun.

Maybe if he had been like you he would still be alive and I wouldn’t have been walking around praying for someone to wash his blood off my hands, I doubted he would have wanted mine on his either, but rather mine than your mothers. His loyalty laid with her, it had for many years, no matter how much I wish I could gain it back and if the law told him that her safety and the immunity of your family was guaranteed with my death, then my death he would have… Even if I could see in his eyes that it would not weigh easily on his shoulders.

When I say I am sorry for what I did, I mean it, I wanted nothing more but for you to be safe, for him to be safe, for your mother to be safe, though knowing her she is most likely dead, otherwise you would not be here, she wouldn’t let you. “You do the hanging, not the swinging, you hear me?” I remember she told you that one day, all she ever wanted for you was to become a lawyer, or at least someone who didn’t run when the law came around.

I tried to run away from him you know? Your father. I shoved a crate on him and jumped out of the window, and then I ran, I ran and ran and shot anywhere but near him, hoping to scare him off so I could disappear, but his horse stumbled and he fell. A bullet hit him and he was dead on the spot, never suffered, never hurt, most likely never realised what happened, I barely did.

My horse had barely come to a stop before I was on the ground, stumbling over to his body, looking down at the empty eyes I had once went for comfort to. I had cradled his lifeless body in my arms, warm tears running down my cheeks as he went cold and I prayed to any god that might exist for our fates to switch, that it was a father and not a criminal who would walk away from there.

 For three years I had lived iolated in the mountains, hiding from reality, myself, the truth of what I have done, things that you can run but never hide from, and god had yet to appear, he had yet to make things right, yet to do anything, until now, he has brough you to me and I will gladly let you ring the bells of judgement and bring me my punishment.
