The gray wolf was was once widespread in Mexico, but was extirpated in the 1970s when the last few individuals of the Mexican wolf subspecies were captured for a breeding program. Since then, wolves have been released into northern Mexico and the southern United States a number of times, resulting in approximately forty to forty-five wild wolves currently living in Mexico.

being born outside of the west the reality that everyone who lives everywhere is a full person in the way that me and my family are people, and that all the names on a globe are all 'real places' where people live always felt like an obvious given to me, to the point where even as a kid going to primary school in canada i remember finding it like profoundly bizarre and alienating that all the kids around me didnt have that understanding already and the way that they would be so cruel and insensitive upon finding out i wasn't born in canada was viscerally upsetting, even teachers would treat me differently and i would get this even from canadian born nonwhite kids which i just couldn't comprehend. a sensation i'll never forget is being in like 2nd grade and being one of the only people to raise their hand when the teacher asked if anyone here was born outside canada and just the way i was treated like an alien and not in a good way, a distinct feeling of everyone in the room thinking there is something fundamentally different about me in a negative sense and i just couldn't understand it. the kind of myopic chauvinism that gets ingrained in people from such a young age by the culture felt upsetting to me, even though i didn't have the words to explain why or what exactly i was experiencing because i was literally 7. like i knew the rest of the world was real and normal because i'm from there. that should be a given, a basic assumption, and it not being one in the west is Not representative of a 'universal' mistake that everyone on earth makes but rather of a jingoistic eurocentric ideology that is taught from an extremely young age

“I don’t talk about Palestine because I don’t like going into politics : /” fuck you. The existence of Muslims and MENA people has always been political to the West. Their lives and their deaths. Their happiness and anger and sorrow. Their love and hatred. Their sweat and blood and tears. Everything has always been reduced to politics when they are more than you could ever begin to comprehend. Palestine will be free. And so will Sudan and Pakistan and Lebanon and Yemen and Syria and every other country, place and people who suffer only for their pain to be called political by those responsible for and complicit in it

just thinking about kabru. did you know a 2010 study found blue-eyed males were perceived as less dominant (a trait correlating with masculinity) than their brown-eyed counterparts? did you know a 2013 study found that people trust brown-eyed individuals more than blue-eyed? did you know a 2015 study found it harder to track where blue-eyed babies were looking? did you know blue eyes are associated with substance use problems?
just thinking about kabru.

what's the government's response to the awful waiting times to access medical transition? make it harder for people to get referred in the first place. if we can gatekeep a bunch of trans people from ever getting referred in the first place, the waiting lists will be shorter! genius! /s

with that new revelation in ii2 e16, i feel like there's... a lot less to know about the world of ii. at least, not to know for sure.
because, before then, you could extract some information from passing comments. remember the french or whatever pizza delivery guy who tried to pass as italian, but spoke spanish instead? from that, you could determine that 1. france, spain, and italy are places that exist and 2. if those countries exist, why not all the countries in the world?
but. but, according to what cobs said at least, mephone4 seems to have made everything. he made the weird looking grass. if he made that, then why not anything else? did that guy exist before he came onto the show? probably not! and if he was made that day, was the concept of "france," "spain," and "italy" made that day too?
there's no way for us to know what the normal world of ii looks like. do they have parallel countries to us? well, we know their continents aren't parallel. it follows that their countries wouldn't be, either. who knows what their history is like? how the normal objects are like? will we know?

Not entirely sure how I'm expected to respond when I point out something is white as fuck and the person I'm criticizing goes "I'm literally PoC!!" Okay? Good for you? Get well soon??
I literally live in South Asia, a place still nursing the world's worst colonial hangover. That's like one billion brown people desperately in need of joining Bootlickers Anonymous. If I had to respect the rancid takes of every yahoo that lives here I'd have to drown myself in the sea.
Living in white countries does something odd to diaspora brains. If you call yourself BIPOC in your own head long enough you end up forgetting you're just a garden variety idiot mainlining white supremacy like everyone else.

i love seeing those advocacy groups that say they’re fighting to protect free speech on campus and i think that they mean advocating for the (peaceful btw) pro-palestinian protestors that have been brutalized by police and arrested and expelled en masse, but then i go to their website and they’re just advocating for conservatives to be able to say hate speech with no repercussions
