Phil Coulson x Female!Inhuman!SHIELD Agent!Reader: Guard
Summary: Phil doesn’t know where the path you’re on will lead, but he’ll be damned if he lets you walk it alone.
Rating/Tags: T (Post-Season 2 (or maybe during? I can’t remember when half this stuff happened); Phil & May; established Phil/Reader; Reader’s powers are not described; angst; fluff; manslaughter)
Challenge: “160 Collective Drabbles” challenge by BobaPop on Lunaescence Archives.
Tag List: @imaginesfire
Notes: Please keep in mind that I didn’t watch Agents of SHIELD very far into season four (I think...Ghost Rider was there), so it is not likely to be anywhere close to canon compliant.
Guard
Phil Coulson had seen S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters under innumerable moments of distress over his years working there. Certainly sometimes distress could bring out the best in agents, sometimes even the best in humanity. This time, not so much. Although the stressful event itself had concluded hours ago, the entire Hub still rang with the odd silence that had started things off. No one moved except for him, and no one spoke but May beside him:
“I don’t think this is a good idea.”
She said this because she believed it. That Phil knew. Normally, he would have listened. He respected May a good deal; she was intelligent, strong, and unafraid of saying what needed to be said. If anyone had a handle on the situation, it was her.
This, unfortunately, was the one time he had no choice but to ignore her advice.
“You don’t have to stay,” he answered mildly.
May snorted. “Like hell I don’t have to. You think I’m going to trust Bobbi to watch your back on this one?”
“My back is going to be fine.”
“You say that,” said May, “but I’ll only believe it when I see it.”
“She won’t hurt me.”
May’s eyebrows rose, and for good reason. Two good agents had died that day. Mack would make a full recovery, but only because he was tough. Phil hadn’t been out in the field much before making the decision to go toe to toe with the person who had killed and hurt his team.
His companion did not bring any of this up, however. She was well aware that Phil already knew. Instead, she simply allowed him to move forward.
“I’ve got the door,” she said, and added, “be careful in there.”
“You know me. Careful is my middle name.”
He watched just long enough to see her roll her eyes, then turned his attention to the task at hand. Said task was opening a door–a solid, latched door keeping danger away from the rest of the team. Phil knew what lay behind it: a shaking, sobbing, unsettled young woman. He knew because there were about two dozen security cameras trained on her at every minute, as well as agents whose only task was to watch the video feeds and make an immediate report if anything inside the room changed.
He also knew because he knew [F Name] [L Name], perhaps better than he knew anyone else in the entire galaxy.
Already he had put things off too long. With a last steady breath, he pressed his hand to the flat expanse in front of him, approximately where a knob should have been. A line of blue light slid up his palm, then the whole door flashed and dissolved.
Phil stepped through the space left behind just before the door rematerialized behind him. He was sealed inside with a woman most people were now calling a monster.
You didn’t look like a monster just then. In fact, you didn’t seem as though you noticed Phil was there at all. Your eyes stared unblinkingly at the feet you had pulled up onto the cot. Every few seconds, an agonizingly tremulous breath would shudder out from your lips. Your hair was a mess, your fingernails bloodied, and your cheeks streaked with tears.
Phil cleared his throat.
You jumped about a foot in the air. When you had composed yourself enough to look over at him, said composure did not last long. Your face crumpled immediately. Despite how quickly you hid it in your knees, he saw your miserable expression.
“[Name],” he said carefully.
A pause. A tremendous sniff. You lifted your head. “D…Director.”
“How are you doing?”
Slowly, your eyes drifted away to stare blankly at your toes. “Does it matter?” you asked hoarsely. “How I am?”
Phil glanced behind himself, as though making sure that May really couldn’t hear him. He knew how she felt about the way things were, and Mack, and Bobbi, and Hunter, and most of the rest. But that wasn’t how he felt. Not even close.
“It matters. Why wouldn’t your feelings matter?” he said
You didn’t reply, at least not right away. With one arm still wrapped around your knees, you pushed fiddled with your tangled mess of hair. “What are you doing here?”
It wasn’t the answer he expected. It wasn’t even an answer, really. Still he would accept it. You could refuse to look at him all you wanted; you could pretend you were angry and that you didn’t want to see him if you wished. Phil didn’t care, so long as you kept talking. Ideally, he would have called Dr. Garner in to get you to talk. Unfortunately, Dr. Garner really wasn’t an option anymore, was he?
“I thought it would be good to have a little chat.”
Your silence was not exactly an invitation to make himself at home in your cell. All the same, he shrugged and leaned against the wall opposite you.
“Besides, it’s not the same out there without you,” he said.
Much to Phil’s surprise, you looked surprised. “Don’t say that.”
“Don’t say w–”
“You’re Director. You can’t say things like that about a…about a…”
“About the woman I love?” he suggested.
“About a murderer. I killed those men, Phil. Me. I killed them.”
Your voice grew quieter and quieter as you went on; your chin sank to your knees. To Phil, the distance between you and him felt endless. All he wanted was to cross that distance, sit down next to you, and make everything okay again. He was S.H.I.E.L.D. director now. Wasn’t he supposed to have that sort of power?
“You were right to leave me in here,” you whispered.
Phil looked sharply over at you. “Leave you in here?”
“When are they going to kill me?”
“Kill you?”
Apparently, you cared nothing for Phil’s obvious distress. You shook your head dazedly and still refused to look at him. “I killed three people today. I killed Mack.”
“Okay, first things first,” he started, “you didn’t kill Mack. Mack will survive because he’s always prepared. That’s the great thing about Mack. That’s why I sent him with you today. Secondly, why on earth would you think we were about to kill you? Third of all, I did not leave you in here.”
Maybe it wasn’t really fair of him to get so frustrated. You were clearly going through a terrible time. He was well aware that it could not have been easy, coming back to base to turn yourself in after what had happened. Knowing that most, if not all, of your friends were frightened and out for blood couldn’t have helped. Yet to find that you lumped him in with the rest hurt. Perhaps that was obvious enough, because you didn’t answer him this time either. All you did was press yourself into a smaller ball.
Sighing, Phil straightened up. “I should have come sooner,” he confessed. “Daisy thought that, considering the circumstances, you might want a bit of space.”
You made a noise at that, but what the noise meant, Phil had no idea. A few moments of absolute silence followed, then you made the noise again. It went on and on and on, a dejected, bubbling cry that you couldn’t seem to smother this time around.
He took a hesitant step forward, paused, then decided. Staying on the other side of the room wouldn’t do. Not anymore.
The cot creaked as he settled onto it. Most people who wound up in a S.H.I.E.L.D. holding cell weren’t offered comfortable amenities like real beds or real food or real visitors. If Phil could have offered you any of these, he would have. For the time being, all he could do was offer himself, sitting there and listening to you weep.
You did not react to his closeness like he had thought you would, not even to shift further away. He did not reach for you, much as he wanted to. He simply waited.
“I-I-I didn’t want this,” you moaned, and whether or not you intended him to, Phil heard. “I didn’t want to be Inhuman. I didn’t mean to be.”
“Everyone knows you didn’t mean to, [Name].”
“I don’t even kn-know how it happened. I just–got infected”
“The Terrigan Crystals are everywhere now. You could easily have eaten some when no one else was around to notice the change. It’s not your fault.”
You hiccupped, and closed your eyes as though the thought caused you great pain. It probably did. “I never wanted–even if I did, I wouldn’t want this…”
“[Name],” said Phil, “I know.”
Finally, you wrenched your head up so that you could face him. Your eyes appeared scarlet in the dim light–from crying so much, he assumed, not your powers–and snot glistened on your upper lip. Never in his entire life had Phil ever seen anyone look so hopeless. Somehow, he managed to refrain from touching you still.
“I’d be better off dead,” you said brokenly.
Phil’s heart burned inside him. “Daisy had trouble at first, too. It’ll take practice, but we’ll figure something out for you. We’ll have Fitz and Simmons rig up a whole training facility. You’ll get used to it. No one will hurt you before then. I won’t let them.”
For a long while, you just stared at him. Quiet tears continued to course down your cheeks, but your gaze was steady. He had a good idea of what you were thinking about while you stared at him: That Daisy’s powers were never like yours, that there was no Afterlife to learn from anymore, that no one on the team or in the entire world would ever look at you as a human being again. But the last was a lie. You were still human, and Phil could see that. Human blood ran through your veins, red as his own, even now.
You did not remark upon any of that, though. Instead, you reached your arms out toward him, and your face crumpled once again. “Hold me,” you murmured.
So Phil did, closing the gap to put his arms around you. You pressed your head to his shoulder, quickly soaking his suit through with tears. He didn’t mind. If that was what it would take, he would hold on to you for the rest of the night and into the morning.
No one else would lay a finger on you–not while he was there, and he didn’t plan to leave until he saw a real smile light up your face once more. It might be weeks before that happened; it might be years. But he wouldn’t leave your side until it did. Never again.

Open Wounds - 10
Pairing: Bucky Barnes x reader
Warnings: nope
A/N: This has not been edited. Sorry.
You rested your hands on your hips as you looked around the room Stark had given you to store your shit until you could get it sorted. You had to admit that the billionaire was far different than you expected him to be after all of Fury’s grumbling. Even the thought of going through the boxes was exhausting. You left it for the day and headed to your room tucked between Clint and Nat’s. You had enough to deal with in there anyway.
Piles of clothes laid across your bed waiting to be sorted and put away. Bags of supplies you’d purchased to replace the things you needed immediately crowded on top of the dresser and desk. Bucky had helped you secure your weapons as soon as you arrived at the tower so at least some part of your life was organized. You groaned when you got back to your room and took in the mess. This was going to take forever. Maybe it was a bad idea to tell everyone you wanted to take care of it by yourself. If worse came to worst, you could always kick Clint out of his bed and sleep there tonight. Or you could share with Nat.
You took a deep breath and began sorting through the clothes on the bed. Half of them were your dad’s and could be packed away. You just couldn’t bear to get rid of them yet. You hung his leather jacket and one of his shirts in your closet. The rest of his clothes you folded and stacked in some of the empty boxes Tony had obtained for you. It took you longer than you wanted to stow them away but you kept pausing to press the fabric against your nose. You were certain if you breathed deeply enough you could still smell his cologne.
After you placed the last item in its box and sealed it shut, you wrote ‘DAD’ across the side. Then you wiped the tears from your cheeks and got back to work. The rest of the room went faster and it wasn’t long before you had everything in its place. You glanced at the boxes of your dad’s clothes and decided you’d take them to the other room tomorrow. You were done for the day.
A knock at the door caught your attention and turned to find Steve leaning in the doorway. He gave you a small smile. “How’s it going?”
“I’m getting there,” you answered. “I’m at the point I can function. I just have about a thousand boxes to sort through.”
“If you want any help, just let us know.”
“I’ll remember that.” His attention focused on something beyond you and you turned to see that he was looking at the photos on your nightstand. Besides the family picture, there was one of you and your dad laughing as you danced at some event. “That’s my family, for what it’s worth.”
He hummed in agreement. “I actually had a reason for bothering you. With everything that happened today, I realized that we never got a chance to talk to you about this morning. We’d like to have you on the team if you’re interested.”
You thought for a half a second before shrugging. “Sure. Why not? There’s some equipment I’m going to need. Fury took anything that had the remote possibility of belonging to SHIELD.”
“Of course. Just give a list to me or Tony and we’ll get it for you.” His smile widened as he pushed himself off the door frame. “Good to have you on board, Coulson.”
Once he was gone, you pulled out a notebook and started to make a list of what you needed. It wasn’t a long list, but it was an important one. Especially since Fury had taken all your tactical gear including your vests. Asshole. You wondered if you’d be able to forgive him this time.
A little over an hour later you were laying on your bed watching a movie on the giant screen on your wall when another knock came at the door. You looked over to see Bucky standing in the opening with a plate in his hand. You paused the movie and sat up. “Jarvis, lights please.”
You squinted against the sudden brightness as you stood. “Hey, Bucky. What’s up?”
“I thought you might be hungry. I brought you a sandwich.”
You took the plate from him and sat it on the desk. “Thanks. That’s sweet of you.” Pink colored his cheeks and you couldn’t help a small grin. “You can come in if you want.”
It was weird having only your room for your personal space, but you supposed you’d get used to it. It’s not like you had much of a choice. And now that you were part of the team, there was no hurry to find an apartment.
Like Steve, Bucky noticed your photos first. He picked up the one of you and Phil. “Is this your dad?”
You lifted your chin in answer. “That’s right. You never met him, did you?”
His eyes found yours. “They rescued me after New York. I’ve heard the others talk about him though. He’s missed.”
“Yeah, he is.”
He set it down and picked up the other photo. “Fury’s almost smiling in this one.”
“That’s as close as he gets I think,” you agreed and moved to stand beside him. That’s why you noticed when his smile slipped as he studied the photo.
“Is this you in the middle?” He sounded unsure, confused.
You swallowed the lump in your throat and licked your lips. “Yeah. That was taken the year after my dad adopted me. Why?” The thought that Bucky might see the picture and recognize you had never even crossed your mind. You were so not ready to have this conversation yet.
He shook his head and put the picture back. “You just looked familiar for a moment. Must remind me of someone.”
“It happens.” Your gaze moved from him to the photo. For the first time in awhile, you studied your image. You’d been laughing with your head thrown back. It would be difficult if not impossible for him to connect you with that girl he met in Hydra so long ago.
He glanced around the room. “Looks like you got settled in.”
“For the most part.”
Bucky rubbed a hand across the back of his neck. “I, um, wanted to ask if you’d like to get breakfast with me in the morning. There’s a little diner not far from here that has the best food. It’s okay if you want to say no. I don’t want you to feel pressured or anything. I know it’s going to be weird with you living here, I mean we’re practically living together and we just met and—”
“Bucky,” you said with a smile, cutting off his rambling. “Breakfast sounds good.”
His smile covered his face and made your own widen in response. “That’s great. Does 8 work?”
“Perfect.”
“Great,” he repeated himself. Your eyes trailed him as he headed to the door.
Surprisingly, you found you didn’t want him to leave. “Hey, Bucky?”
He turned back to you with wide eyes. “Yeah?”
“I was going to finish my movie while I ate my sandwich. You’re welcome to stay.”
“Are you sure?” he asked. Then he continued quickly before you could even respond. “I’d love that actually.”
You grabbed your plate and settled back on your bed. “I’m watching Shaun of the Dead. You seen it?”
He shook his head so you hit the button to start the movie from the beginning. As the opening sequence started, he moved past your bed to the club chair you’d had them place in the corner of your room. As you ate, you found yourself watching him more than the images on the screen. Afterall, you knew the movie by heart while this new version of your old acquaintance was still a mystery.
Bucky left when the movie was over and you were asleep a half hour later. It had been a long day. It was nearly four when you woke from a nightmare. You sat up in bed panting as you ran a hand over your head.
You dreamed about Hydra. You always dreamed about Hydra. This time instead of the usual faces that haunted your dreams, This time it was Fury and the new version of Soldat that tortured you. That chased you through endless hallways. And Clint, Nat and the rest of the team were all there. Just watching. And when you’d finally been caught, their laughter echoed through your head. God, what was wrong with you?
You tossed the blankets aside and headed to the room next door. You knocked lightly and Clint opened the door a couple of minutes later. The annoyance on his face fell away once he realized it was you. He pulled you into his arms and pressed a kiss to your head. “Come on in, sweetheart. You want me to get Nat?”
You shook your head and pulled away from him to crawl into his bed. You’d ask if you could stay, but there was no point. He’d never say no. “It wasn’t that bad. Just…unsettling.”
He nodded and got in beside you before drawing you into his arms so you could lay against his chest. “You want to talk about it?”
Not really but your therapist said that wasn’t healthy. “The usual only the white coats were replaced with Fury and Bucky. The rest of you watched and laughed when they caught me.”
“Christ, I thought you said it wasn’t that bad.”
“It wasn’t.”
His fingers traced up and down your back helping you relax. You were nearly asleep when he spoke again. “You going to be okay, kid?”
He was talking about more than your dream. He was talking about facing your soulmate. About Fury being an asshole. About you losing the only real home you’d ever known. “I don’t know anymore.”

day nineteen: black eye | m.m.
summary: when may comes into the medical wing it’s usually life or death; a black eye and bloody nose are welcome changes.
pairing: melinda may x reader
cw: minor injuries, blood
word count: 759
Bruises and scrapes were a dime a dozen around these parts. These parts being the base’s medical wing, home to the meagre team that Coulson managed to put together and the plethora of patients walking in and out at a sometimes hourly basis. Of course the field agents practically lived in this wing, that was obvious, but for a load of supposed geniuses who could take over the world at the push of the button, they were not on friendly terms with lab safety rules.
So despite the many years you’d slaved away to get your degree in medicine, your skills were more often than not being put to use dealing with the most minor of injuries. But the pay was phenomenal, secret government agencies and all, so you couldn’t say that you minded too much if your days were rather slow and monotonous more often than not. And over time you’d gotten to know who were the staunch avoiders of the medical wing and who were the frequent fliers.
Which is why when you see Agent May poke her head in the room, your mind immediately jumps to you being in the Twilight Zone. Because a fan of medical help, she is not, and there is no other way to describe her being there on her own accord than unnatural. Rather than making a scene about it, you abandon your paperwork on your desk and stride over to her, determined to keep her from running away again for no good reason.
“Agent May, this is a surprise. Come on in and I’ll get you sorted out.”
“I don’t think-”
“Nonsense!” You interject before she has the chance to make her escape. “It’ll take five, ten minutes tops, and then you can go back to terrifying rookies once more. And hey, a black eye will really seal the deal.”
Before you can drop yourself in it any further, you turn on your heel and head towards your little cubicle, staunchly staying silent instead of filling the silence with chatter. You hear May close the door behind herself, and seconds later the crinkle of the paper covering the chair reaches your ears.
Grabbing yourself a pair of gloves, you pull them on and pass May a box of tissues now that you can see the dried blood which had been dripping from her nose. Once she’s satisfied with her attempts to clean off the blood, you hold out a hazardous waste bin for her to put them in, placing it off to one side when she’s done.
After getting her permission to check that she hadn’t broken her nose or fractured her eye sockets, you start up a one sided conversation, filling the silence by telling her all about the people whose ailments you’d treated today. It’s by no means interesting, although you think the story about Agent Fitz yelling at one of his underlings loudly enough that they thought they were having a heart attack brings a smirk to her face, but never once does she tell you to shut up, silently or otherwise.
It’s weird, she avoids the medical bay like the plague, and seldom speaks to you except when it’s necessary, but she’s just different with you in a way you’ve only ever spectated when she was around her team. If you didn’t know any better, you’d say she had feelings for you, but everyone knows that she and Coulson were destined to be together, they’re just both too blind to see it.
“So, how did you get this black eye? I thought you were untouchable, at least that’s what Piper and them lot say.”
“Davis wasn’t looking where he was flinging his elbow and apparently my nose was the target.” She says so dryly, you would’ve thought she dead serious if it weren’t for the mirth lighting up her eyes.
“Okay, well, so long as you avoid Davis’s elbow again, you shall live to fight another day.”
“Thanks.”
May pushes herself off of the table and hesitates, arms still braced on the pleather seat as she leans against it. You don’t take much notice of her, disposing of the slightly bloodied gloves before turning to face her. She doesn’t give any indication of her next move, rather she leans in and presses a chaste kiss to the corner of your lips before turning tail and fleeing from your little cubicle.
It’s a good thing you didn’t put anything into the office bet about her and Coulson after all, or you’d have been a very sore loser.

So if Daisy and Sousa end up in couple how do you see their end now ?
Anonymous said: Do you ship daisy and sousa more now ?
Anonymous said: Do you think Daisy and Sousa are going to happen?
Hi Anons,
Next up we have the Daisy/Sousa asks. I have dubbed the Ship the SS TimeQuake but await to see if it gets an official name.
Yes, I am not totally on board with it. See how Sousa was with her and how she was with him last week sealed the deal. I think Chloe and Enver have great chemistry together. I like the dynamics of the couple. He’s used to a powerful and independent woman and will not be intimidated by Daisy and will respect her.
Over the next few episodes I think we’ll see Sousa being pretty protective of her with her recovery...and we know how the Shield ladies love it when a guy hovers over them trying to recover. That might cause some bumps but I think its meant to be a bit more of a slow burn with them becoming official towards the end of the season if not the final episode.
As for how it all ends. I am still sticking to Sousa becomes Director, now more than ever I think Mack is either going to fall or just walk away and never look back the first chance he gets. However, knowing that there is something about Daisy’s ending that had everyone a bit ehhhhh and Chloe said it would be divisive. So it could be that she follows in Coulson and May’s footsteps, unwilling to commit to a relationship over Shield. Or Daisy gets an offer elsewhere (Afterlife or another team) and they either break up or go for the long distance option.
But right now its really too soon to call. I need to see how things play out with them over the next few episodes and how Daisy comes out of Nathaniel taking her powers.

Summary: Written for prompt: steve/tony, accidental marriage
All he wanted was for Tony to show up. He was the king of dealing with this kind of thing. “Tony would know how to handle this.”
It didn’t register that he had spoken that last thought out loud or that the reporters had latched onto the response with a fervor that he’d never seen or known was possible.
“Tony? Tony Stark is your fiancé?” the excited voices snapped him back to reality as his mind wheeled backwards
The Accidental Husband (ao3) - melonbutterfly loki/tony M, 3k

Turn Off Trouble Like You Turn Off A Light (ao3) - blithers darcy/steve T, 31k

Bucky trailed off, his thoughts slipping away from him. The him in question—Tony Stark—was giggling like a kid that’d had way too much candy, his face all scrunched up, and Bucky grabbed him, and kissed him.

Aria in B♭ - Chapter 14
The bans had been cried not once, but twice, and no objections had yet been raised, although there had been a great deal of muttering, both amongst the peers and in less noble circles.
Tony had been determined to ignore it; he was doing things properly, and if anyone was going to be aggressive about their wedding, he could in fact just take Bucky and run off to Scotland.
Which meant when they left church after the second reading, it was an unpleasant surprise to be greeted, not by Tony’s own carriage, but by the King’s herald.
Sir Coulson, who had under a few circumstances been called the King’s hatchetman (discreetly, behind his back) was a sober, sensible fellow. A good fighter and a good soldier, but not at all adverse to carrying out less than savory orders, strode up to him. “Lord Stark, I presume?”
Tony suppressed the sudden and urgent desire to run, and another desire to place himself between Bucky and Sir Coulson -- as if it would do any good at all, if the king had ordered Coulson to ensure that Tony not marry Bucky by any means necessary. He drew himself up and lifted his chin. “You presume correctly, my good sir. How may we serve you?”
“The King hungers for the presence of your company. Most immediately,” Coulson said, holding out one of the king’s fussy formal scrolls, with his seal and signature, the ink practically fresh. “And Mr. Barnes, as well.”

twistedxquake started following you
@twistedxquake
“Hey girl, what’s up?” Lee asked, looking through things on his chair as the Director of SHIELD. Waiting for something to come up that required his attention.
#twistedxquake#//Thanks for following! :D#//Character replaces/takes the place of Antoine Triplett in MCU because Lee and Trip act exactly the same. BJ is cast as Lee in the future#so instead of rping both I fused them into one. Lee's middle name is 'Antoine' in respect for Trip and one of Lee's nicknames is Trip#because the character is known to trip over randomly so it would be cool to call him that. c:#Other differences are. This guy ain't human#never has been. Story in the about. c:#He also changes AOS disappearing when Trip died but Lee/Trip replacement comes back in April 2015 goes back to the gang after Season 2#In Season 3 near the end of the first half. Things change because once Coulson kills Ward for revenge. He is deemed unfit to lead and Lee#becomes Director of SHIELD and seals up Hive so the second half drama doesn't happen so certain people don't die#As of now Lee has the SHIELD agents stopping crime where ever it is! Including hunting down Ghost Riders other than Robbie and dealing with#AIDA. The Framework and the Watch Dogs. And now I'm quite sorry for the load. xD

(Trying to get back in to writing by catching up with the Whumptober Challenge for @whumptober2019!)
Day Twenty-Three - Bleeding Out
Phil wrenched the door open, searching the darkness beyond desperately. Just a moment later two figures came limping out of the night and Phil quickly moved out of the way to let them through. He shut the door and secured the locks before turning to his agents.
“What’ve we got?” Phil demanded as he hurried over to them.
“She’s lost a lot of blood,” Clint gasped. “She’s fading, we have to do something now.”
Clint had one of Natasha’s arms thrown over his shoulders, but she wasn’t helping at all with making their way across the safehouse. Phil rushed passed them to Natasha’s cot, ripping the blankets and pillows off of it and tossing them thoughtlessly to the floor. Clint threaded his free arm under Natasha’s knees and scooped her up so that he could place her on the cleared cot.
Phil got his first real look at Natasha, and it was so horrifying that Phil’s knees suddenly felt weak. She was pale as a sheet, her breaths fast and shallow and her eyes half open but unfocused. Clint had wrapped a makeshift bandage -- at a glance Phil could see that it was Clint’s sleeve -- around Natasha’s shoulder and upper chest on her left side.
The worst was the blood. The blood that soaked Natasha’s shoulder, that dripped down her side that coated her left arm and hand. And it didn’t stop there. Clint’s hands were saturated, blood also coating his side.
“It’s not mine,” Clint said breathlessly, reading Phil’s mind. His eyes were wide, panic brewing within them. “It’s… it’s all hers.”
“Shit,” Phil hissed.
Then he snapped into action. Phil hurried over to the table where he had left the med kit he had pulled out when Clint had called to tell him that Natasha had been shot. Clint had dragged over a side table next to Natasha’s cot for Phil to dump out the supplies. As Clint untied his makeshift bandage Phil sorted out the supplies that he needed. Phil grabbed a pair of scissors and quickly cut away Natasha’s shirt around the wound. Then he went to work quickly and firmly packing the wound with bandages.
“Is that gonna be enough?” Clint asked anxiously.
Phil sighed heavily as he carefully assessed the situation. Natasha had lost an extremely dangerous amount of blood and they still had several hours until the med evac that Phil had called got to them.
“She needs a blood transfusion in order to have a chance,” Phil admitted. He looked at Clint. The mission obviously hadn’t been easy on him either. Bruises were starting to color his skin, he was pale and still a little short of breath. He hated that this was their only option. “I’m not a match for her, but your blood type is O-negative, which is the universal donor.”
Clint was already rolling up his sleeve. “Let’s do this.”
“Go grab a stool,” Phil instructed as he sorted through his medical supplies again. It had been a long time since he had been told how to do this… but he was pretty sure it would work.
Phil grabbed some IV tubing, two catheter needles and medical tape. He worked quickly as he attached one of the IV catheters to one end of the tubing and then cut the other end of the tube that was normally meant to attached to the IV bag. Then he carefully taped the other IV catheter to the other end, making sure it was sealed.
“Put that there and sit,” Phil said quickly as Clint reappeared with the stool. Clint immediately did as he was told. Phil grabbed an antiseptic wipe in order to clean Clint’s arm. He found a vein in the crook of Clint’s arm and placed one end of the IV. He allowed the tube to fill with Clint’s blood before he placed the other end into Natasha’s arm. Phil sighed. “You have to stay on that stool so the blood runs down the tube. You can flex your hand to help with the flow.”
Clint nodded vaguely, opening and shutting his hand at even intervals.
Phil shifted his focus back to Natasha for a minute. He checked her pulse. It was weak and thready, but it was there. Her breathing was still fast and shallow, hitching every couple breaths, but at least she was still breathing.
He sighed heavily as he sat back. He had done all he could for Natasha for the moment. It was time to change focus again. He looked up at Clint, who was blinking heavily and swaying a bit on the stool. The adrenaline had apparently worn off and it looked like shock was starting to set in.
Phil pushed himself up and headed across the safehouse. He grabbed a hand towel, filled a pot with warm water and then poured a glass of orange juice. He tossed the towel of his shoulder, grabbed the pot and the glass and then went back to his agents.
“Here,” Phil said gently, handing the glass of juice to Clint. “Sip on that.”
“I’m not thirsty,” Clint said, his voice hoarse.
“You need to keep your sugar up in order to give as much blood as Natasha needs,” Phil told him rationally. That got Clint to take the glass, mechanically bringing it to his lips. Phil took that as a win for now. “I’m going to clean you up a bit, okay?”
Clint nodded, though he didn’t look at Phil. In fact, he wasn’t looking at Natasha ever, but rather was staring out to the middle distance. Phil could only deal with one thing at a time though. For now, he wet the towel in the pan of water and then set to work washing Natasha’s blood off of Clint’s hands and arms the best that he could.
“You okay, Clint?” Phil asked into the awkward silence as he finished up. When there was no response, Phil looked over at Clint in concern. He had only drunk a little of the juice and was still staring off blankly. Phil felt a spike of fear, wondering if he had missed an injury. “Clint?”
“It was my fault,” Clint said quietly. “If I had been faster she wouldn’t have--”
“No,” Phil cut him off firmly. “No, don’t do that to yourself, kid. This kind of shit happens in our line of work, you know than and Natasha knows that too. What matters is you got her back here and we’re doing everything we can to keep her going until the med team gets here.” Clint swallowed thickly and gave a small, unconvincing nod. Phil reached over a put a hand on Clint’s shoulder, drawing his attention. “Drink your juice, kid. It’s going to be okay.”
Clint lifted the glass again and took another sip.
Phil went to grab another stool to bring over so that he could take a seat next to Clint. He felt bad, the kid looked exhausted, but there weren’t any chairs that were tall enough to keep Clint above Natasha. Phil coaxed Clint into finishing the glass of juice and then allowed Clint to lean against him heavily.
Phil checked his watch. A half hour after he had started the transfusion, Phil shifted in order to stop it, knowing that Clint had likely transfused almost three pints at that point, which should be enough to keep Natasha stable until the team arrived and was also pushing how much Clint could safely give.
The movement caused Clint to stir from where he had begun to doze with his head on Phil’s shoulder.
“I can give more,” Clint mumbled as Phil began to detach the transfusion.
“You gave plenty,” Phil assured him. “I need you to drink some more juice and then I need you to get some rest.”
“She’ll be okay?” Clint asked, blinking blearily down at Natasha’s still form.
“Yes, she’s going to be okay,” Phil said firmly. “She’s going to be okay because of you. You did good, Clint.”
A ghost of a smile crossed Clint’s lips. Phil helped him over to his own cot, keeping him up long enough to drink another generous glass of orange before he allowed him to drift off to sleep.
When the med team finally arrive, they found both of Phil’s agents resting comfortably, Clint sleeping soundly and Natasha still hanging on.
“Your first aid skills are impressive, Agent Coulson,” one of the medics said as they carried Natasha out on a stretcher. “You know, we could use you in our department.”
Phil smiled and shook his head. “No thanks. I’m right where I need to be.”

Rewatch of 2x09, “Ye Who Enter Here”
Favorite scene(s):
- Jemma taking care of Trip and asking about Skye’s dad
- The Koenigs helping a very reluctant Raina escape from Hydra
- Bobbi asking Jemma about Fitz
- Skye hugging Coulson before they leave for the mission
- May sounding offended that Kara still has her face
Favorite quote(s):
Jemma: *knocks on the table* “That’s not wood, is it.”
Coulson: “Actually, that doesn’t have anything to do with the [Bermuda] Triangle. We solved that in the 80s.”
Billy Koenig (to Sam Koenig): “You can’t even do a sit-up!”
Bobbi: “Don’t die out there, okay?” / Hunter: “It’s Canada.”
Coulson: “I hate that phrase [acceptable collateral damage]. My number is zero.”
Raina: “Did you know [your dad] delivered you?” / Skye: “That’s sweet. He also killed a bunch of people.”
Other noteworthy stuff:
Does Mack want to work on Lola because he thinks there could be secret tech on her? Or is he legitimately interested in the old car?
That invisible umbrella Sam Koenig used to hide himself and Raina from Hydra has to have been inspired by Sam and Frodo’s elven cloaks, right?
Look at all that pretty natural lighting in San Juan!
Mack falling down the hole and turning all scary seemed like it was going to be a bigger deal than it actually was. Also you know Bobbi was thinking about Coulson’s statement that he had zero acceptable collateral damage when he told them to seal the tunnel despite Possessed!Mack falling down there.
I’ve always wanted to read fic about Raina before we meet her in AoS--her tie before and after she met Cal--but alas, I’ve never found any and I don’t think I could write it :/

Have you seen Captain Marvel? Thoughts?
thoughts on captain marvel?
Have you seen Captain Marvel?
Have you seen Captain Marvel yet?
Given all your great People’s History of Marvel stuff lately, I assume you’ve been asked already, but any Captain Marvel thoughts you can share? What did you think of Captain Marvel?
Ok, ok already, I’ll write the post!
Full Spoilers Below
I really liked it! As solo origin movies go, it was definitely one of the better ones; personally I’d put it up there with Doctor Strange in how it deals with bringing some big new ideas into the MCU, while having way higher expectations than that film ever did. (Also, I want to plug my colleague @elanabrooklyn‘s podcast episode about the film, which you should listen to while reading this.)
Things I Liked:
I thought the amnesia/false memories plot was a great way to wrong-foot the audience who’re used to superhero origin stories (the good guys are the bad guys, the bad guys are the good guys, Vers is Carol) which worked hand-in-glove with the film’s broader thesis about gender: that male dominated institutions are not just going to try to exclude or diminish you, but also gaslight you about who you are, what strength looks like, etc. to get you to comply. “What was given can be taken away”/”““Don’t let your emotions override your judgments.” are the key throughlines here, a great example of how the writers are taking worn-out Hero’s Journey tropes and flipping them on their head.
I really liked the twist on Mar-Vell. It makes the origin story less of an accident and more of a choice, and I’m always in favor of more active protagonists; there’s really no reason why the Space Alien Defector from Decadence couldn’t be a female scientist instead of a male warrior; and it both honors the original (that no one really cared about, tbh) and surprises the hardestcore of fans. Also having the light speed engine be the Tesseract is a good way to incorporate Captain Marvel into the broader MCU without needing to explain a brand-new source of wibbley-wobbly.
The war metaphor. There was a lot of handwringing before the film about Captain Marvel being pro-military propaganda, because of the Air Force deal that had been worked out. As I suspected going in, the film is a very sneaky subversion of that, with the Kree Starforce being a very clear stand-in for the U.S. Military. The surface level analogy is that the Kree Starforce is a male-dominated institution that tries to gaslight and prevent Carol from reaching her true potential just like the Air Force tried to do, but it goes deeper than that. The whole first act of the film sets up the Starforce as Seal Team Six equivalents - a highly-trained special forces group, fighting an enemy explicitly described as terrorists, but trying to do it in an efficient/precise way that makes them the good guys as opposed to Ronan’s carpet-bombing Accusers - which is a narrative we’ve been conditioned to accept since 9/11 through films like the Hurt Locker/Green Zone/Zero Dark Thirty/etc. However, the second and third acts reveal that’s total bullshit. The Starforce try to kill civilians, do kill their own people to get their hands on military intelligence, and are perfectly happy to carry out the Supreme Intelligence’s imperialist total war, and their supposed commitment to precision and avoiding collateral damage goes out the window the moment it’s the least bit inconvenient.
Seeing Carol Danvers in the Jamie McKelvie suit - fauxhawk and all - blow through an alien warfleet whooping with joy made me ferklempt a little. I think that moment will only grow with time as something on par with the first time that Iron Man does the superhero landing or “I’m always angry” as genuinely worthy of the term iconic.
EDIT: Forgot about Goose. Cute, funny, and instantly wins over the cat-lovers in the audience. I imagine the dog-lovers out there will want a much bigger role for Cosmo in Guardians 3...
Things That Surprised Me
I was genuinely surprised at how good the de-aging CGI has gotten. Coulson looked slightly waxy, but there was a real performance in Samuel L. Jackson playing not just a younger Nick Fury but a younger Nick Fury who is very specifically Samuel L. Jackson in the Long Kiss Goodnight. I have no idea what this means for the future; are we going to see the original Avengers forever, just with more and more de-aging GCI slapped on them? If only for salary and contract reasons, I doubt it’ll go beyond the realm of cameos and secondary performances, but it’s a nice way to try to maintain continuity as the MCU ages into its second decade.
The Skrulls. I had thought that the anti-war message was going to be more of a Kree-Skrull War plague-on-both-your-houses thing, but turning the Skrulls into the equivalent of Syrian refugees totally blindsided me. It’s an incredibly gutsy move, and I’ll echo what @giveamadeuschohisownmovie said about the brilliant bit of culture-jamming that is casting it-bad-guy Ben Mendelsohn as “the lead villain” and Jude Law as “the wise mentor,” judo-flipping audiences with our own expectations about recent films, the hero’s journey, and how we should feel about aliens who look like the Skrulls and aliens who look like us. That being said, part of the reason why it’s a gutsy move is that it precludes a lot of possible stories: I don’t think you could do a Kree-Skrull war, or a Secret Invasion movie, or a Super-Skrull movie after this, given the way that the film deconstructed the entire notion of Skrulls-as-heel-species.
Things I Could Have Used Even More Of:
While I totally understand the pacing reasons why they didn’t do this, I kind of wish there had been more time to do some road-trip banter between Nick Fury and Carol; give Nick a chance to introduce the alien to 90s music and fast food, crack some meta jokes about Pulp Fiction, etc.
I also could have used some more banter with the rest of the Kree team. I think some stuff got cut here, because there’s definitely some shots from trailers of the team walking down a hallway and staring down Ronan coming the other way that didn’t make it into the film. As a result, Carol’s team turning on her and her fighting back doesn’t have as much emotional weight.
Finally, and this is a really small nit-pick, but a bit more budget spent on the CGI during the Supreme Intelligence scenes would have gone a long way. Annette Benning’s dual performance was so good that the slightly dodgy mirror tendril stuff stood out in a negative way. Or just don’t do the mirror tendril stuff and double-down on the memory-warping or dueling beams stuff, which worked much better.

Legacy- Part 7
Pairing: Carter! reader x ?????
Summary: Everyone knows Peggy Carter is a force to be reckoned with, who cold have guessed her granddaughter would hold the same ferocity, if not more. This story follows y/n Carter’s life as she faces the obstacles life pitches her.
Warnings: None
A/N: Its finally time. shes really gonna do it
Peggy watches with amusement as the two girls looked purely terrified.
“How- w-when…- “Darcy stutters out before giving up “totally busted.”
“you are indeed, totally busted.” Your grandmother replies, but there is no hint of anger in her voice or stance. No sign of disbelief or frustration, no yelling or gritted teeth. That’s when it hits you.
“You wanted me to find the journals.” you breathe out.
“That’s an odd assumption- “
“oddly right. Those journals held things that would be dangerous in some hands, you’d never just toss them in a box, let alone the top box that wasn’t sealed shut. “You accuse her
A large grin appears on her face “it took you long enough- “
“oh, what the hell.” Darcy mumbles “this entire time you knew- you couldn’t have just handed her the journals Peg !?” She throws her arms up in frustration.
“To shield and the worlds knowledge, those journals don’t exist. The information within them”
“is extremely dangerous in the wrong hands. I’m aware.” you stare at her “I need to know the formula for Nitramene.” You bluntly state,
your grandmothers’ eyes slightly widen “Nitramene was discontinued after Howard-”
“as far as shield was concerned it was, but I know that didn’t stop my parents or Howard.”
Darcy watches the staring competition between the two carters, heart racing as you slightly challenged your grandmother
“Nitramene won’t fit well with your toxin extraction, you can find a simpler way-”
“what about for a super soldier serum process? I think it’d fit pretty well there.”
“It’s prohibited to - “
“I took it more as a suggestion not to try, but Carters aren’t really known for following the rules, are they Agent Carter?” You smirk at her knowingly.
“You’re definitely a Carter.” She mumbles, running a hand down her face in defeat. “If shield discovers what you’re doing- “
“I’ve already covered all my footprints. Falsified my blueprints of the chamber to match the toxin project, everything lines up to be hidden perfectly Grandma. All I need is the Nitramene. “
You slowly approach her, gently taking her hand in yours “I’m so close to- “
“creating something that could get you killed. Something that could cost others their lives if it falls into the wrong hands - “
“something that could change the world. Did you think I didn’t weight the outcomes for this? That I’d be reckless enough to even leave any room for chaos?”
She sighs squeezing your hand in hers “Nitramene is extremely sensitive, it cannot be thrown about, it can’t even risk to be shaken. It’s highly explosive - “
You smirk knowingly at her” you have it, don’t you?”
“Howard destroyed every piece of evidence connected to it. Only a few vials of it exist- “
“are you going to make me go on a treasure hunt for it? Because I’m pretty positive it’s in this house-
“calm down Nancy Drew and let me speak.” She glares at you, then at Darcy when she laughs
“is the chamber built?”
“not yet -“
“I’m not releasing it into your hands until you complete it, then you will go right from here to your lab and begin the experiment. Are we clear? No one is to know - “
“it’s being conducted in the middle of the night, I’ve already figured out how to bypass the security check in and hack into my security cameras to replay footage instead of recording at the time. There will be no evidence, no traceable date, everything is covered with the project they actually assigned me to.”
“Very well. Go on and finish this, just… make sure whoever you chose for this - “
“there’s nothing to worry about Peg, I think she made a great choice.” Darcy butts in, smiling at you with a wink.
“oh lord.” Your grandmother mutters “I’ll be waiting.”
“you won’t be waiting long gram.” You kiss her cheek
“I didn’t think I would be. You’re too brilliant for your own good. “
“I wouldn’t be a Carter if I wasn’t.”
It only took a day to assemble the chamber, Coulson delivered the vibranium a few hours prior, leaving it in a sealed container on your shelf. The Only missing piece being the Nitramene. You wipe away the sweat on your forehead as you drop down to sit on the floor, tools scattered around you and Darcy laying herself across your lab table,
“you could have helped.”
“watching you work is… impressing. But it exhausts me just watching, I’d probably pass out from exhaustion if you actually made me do something. Gotta save my energy anyway.”
You roll your eyes at her answer, laying yourself on the floor and letting your eyes flutter shut for a moment “you know I don’t trust anyone else to do this with me, right?”
“I’d be offended if you did.” She throws a pen at you, cheering when it bounces off your forehead “c’mon, let’s get outta here. We got a couple hours to kill before shit goes down.”
And the countdown begins.
2 am rolls around, you find yourself on your grandmothers’ doorstep, before even knocking the door flings open. Peggy rushing you inside and leading you toward her bedroom, then into her bathroom. You watch silently as she goes to her shelf of various perfumes, when she turns you see a small bottle in her grasp.
As she gets closer, you pick out a small shape among the liquid, tethered by what looks to be a few strings holding it suspended in the center of the small bottle.
“I cannot strain the importance of keeping this bottle steady y/n. When you remove it from the bottle use these - “she turns back, retrieving a pair of tongs “do it slowly and cautiously when you remove it and place it in. Make sure it’s safely sealed into the compartment you designed to contain it, otherwise - “
“grandma, I can do this.”
You’re not sure if you’re reassuring her, or yourself at this point.
She nods as you gently take the bottle from her hands. She escorts you back to the front door, smiling as she cups your cheek
“I am incredibly proud of you - “
“For all we know this could fail gran- “
“but it won’t. Do not underestimate your intelligence darling. Good luck, I expect a call in the morning.” She kisses your forehead before sending you on your way.
You and Darcy sneak into the SHIELD facility, avoiding the halls you know has guards. It’s a lot less stressful since you already hacked into the cameras and began rolling the pre-taped footage.
Stepping into your lab, you go right in to work mode. You press a few buttons, smiling when the chamber emerges from the wall, in the hidden false wall your mother left details for in her notes. She installed it herself, there a few more, but you haven’t had a chance to explore those just yet.
“What do you think your grandmas going to do when she finds out you’re the one taking the serum?” Darcy asks
That’s the golden question “I’m going to pray that she’s thrilled - “Darcy scoffs “shut up, it’s a 50/50 chance she could be totally ecstatic!”
“Or totally homicidal! I aided you in this! She’ll kill me too!”
You laugh” don’t worry about her, well deal with it when that wave comes - “
“she’s a fucking hurricane, not a little wave. Have you ever met your grandmother?!?”
You shrug her off and get to work, setting up the necessary laptops, open the correct container and finally pop open the actual chamber. Darcy watches in silence and panic as you slowly fill each tiny tube with the serum. The liquid a mesmerizing shade of blue, while the Nitramene sits on the counter, holding a bright orange hue.
You adjust everything into its place, cringing when you remember about all the needles necessary to inject the serum. It’ll only hurt for a second. If Steve Rogers could do it, so can I. You set your lab to sound proof, and apply the blackout feature to your glass walls, just in case.
“Alright D, I wrote the directions down and tacked it to the table right in front of where you’re going to be, but I’m gonna go over it verbally for you. “
She nods, following you to her position
“I’m going to get myself ready, then deposit the Nitramene. It will be stable for roughly 5 minutes, before it becomes a hazard. As soon as I step foot into the chamber hit this button” you point to the large green button labeled ‘1!’. “Immediately after those doors shut, hit the red one” pointing to the one labeled ‘2!’,” it motorizes the spider leg looking things that inject the serum, the light at the top of the chamber will turn blue when it’s all administered, and you’ll see the tubes emptied. once the light is red, hit the other red button- “you point to the ‘3! Just a few more D!’ Labeled button “it initiates the Nitramene, allowing minimum oxygen to infuse into its compartment and sparks the energy just enough for the chamber. You have to move quickly to this lever, - “now you’re in front of a yellow handled lever attached to a small laptop on a small table beside the chamber, wires running it to the chamber, ‘almost done babe #4’. “ This entire screen will turn blue when you need to pull it down the first time-“
“the first time?! “
“you nod, it goes by 10% notches of power each time, you have to do it slowly. All that radiation at once would kill me. I placed a note beside the laptop to remind you of the timing. After every notch, the timer in the corner will count down 20 seconds, when it hits 0, you move the lever another notch. Keep
your eyes on the timer. When you hit 100%, as soon as it’s finished it’ll shut itself off, and the doors will pop open.”
When you finally look at her, you see the concern written clearly on her face. You take her hands in yours, smiling at her
“hey, you can do this. I trust you. I wouldn’t have asked you to do this if I didn’t believe you could handle it.”
“your life is going to be in my hands- “
“I trust you.” You repeat. “think of this as doing this the Dugan way. Always a chance of-”
“ending up in the hospital.” She finishes, tightening her grip on your hands before tugging you into a tight embrace.
“I love you.” She reminds you as she takes her spot at the first button. You hover over the Nitramene, slowly twisting open the lid, and dipping the retractors into the liquid. The orange glow only brightens as you relieve it from its small prison, the tiny ball brightening the entire lab as you take cautious steps toward the small compartment in the chamber for it. Slow and steady, sloooooow and steadyyy . You lower it in, screwing the cap shut as tight as you can. Releasing your breath as the orange lights up it’s small new home.
the clock starts now.
“I love you too. Always Darcy” you lift your shirt over your head
“woah woah woah! Why are you getting naked!?” She shrieks
You laugh as you remove all your clothes besides your boy short panties. “I feel like this looks like the beginning of a bad science porno.”
Both of you laugh, the sound dying down as you step in front of the open chamber, your heart rapidly racing. I can do this, I can-
“you sure about this? That’s a lot of needles - “
“pffft, this is nothing - “your wave her off, praying she doesn’t see your hands shaking “I could do this all day. Oh- “you turn to her one last time “just a heads up, the lights are gonna flicker and I’ll probably scream. Ignore it, and keep going - “
“but- “
“do not stop under any circumstances, got it?”
She nods “your parents would be proud of you ya know?”
“tell me that after this works.”
You back up into the chamber, squeezing your eyes shut as the doors close you in.
The whirring of the machine is oddly calming, you let your mind wander to Steve Rogers. You’ve seen the pictures of him before the transformation, a handsome man before, and just a little bigger handsome man after. You never doubted how your grandmother fell in love with him, throughout all the stories you’ve heard, you’ve fallen in love with the thought of him.
Your thoughts falter as you feel the pierce of all 8 needles over your body, a small yelp emitting from you at the harsh pinch.
That wasn’t so bad. As the liquid pulses through you, the pain ignites. You take deep breathes, as the you hear the first click of the lever being moved.
Heat flares through every inch of you, an uncomfortable pressure swimming over your body. You don’t hear the other clicks, only feel the pressure increasing, your body screaming at the pain spreading through you.
You force yourself to distractions, you let images of your parent’s flash through your mind, followed with memories of them, along with your grandma, Darcy, dum dum and Coulson. Even with the distractions you scream out, your body vibrating from all the energy being radiated into you, bones aching and muscles throbbing.
Please work. Please please please. You mentally repeat as the pain sweeps through your body. Until suddenly, it stops, the sound of the doors popping open startle you.
You squint your eyes at the blinding light that floods your vision. On wobbly legs you attempt to step out of the chamber, being caught by two arms as you lose your balance. You look up into Darcy’s watering eyes as she snakes her arm around your waist to help you stand.
“Well? How do I look?” You weakly ask
She hands you a baggy black V-neck “you’re huge!” She sees your face drop before beating out laughing “I’m -I’m just kidding! You’re fine! Your muscles a little more defined, and your tits are bigger - wait- “she leans and looks behind you” yep, your ass too. That’s not fair man.”
“Don’t ever do that again. I almost had a heart attack!” You slip the shirt on before walking over the mirror on the wall.
You really stayed the same size, your arm and leg muscles just look more defined, like Darcy said, and your eyes widen at your chest, then as you turn to check your ass.
“Huh, didn’t know it was gonna to do that.” You mutter.
You return to Darcy’s side, typing furiously on your tablet,” let’s see how the inside looks.”
“how- oh gross! Is that even sanitary?!” Darcy exclaims as you prick yourself on a fingertip prick you pulled from the box beside the screen and wipe the blood on a clean dish. You use you tablet to scan your blood, an image of your blood and DNA strands appearing on the screen. You grab a journal from your bag, turning to the page you last marked, an image of Steve Rogers blood and DNA that Howard kept behind Peggy’s back (although she actually knew.)
You hold his images beside yours, the abnormalities perfectly matching his.
“we did it.” You whisper, your volume increasing as you spin to Darcy “WE DID IT!! I can’t believe it!” You squeal
She opens her mouth to speak, except the voice that sounds, doesn’t belong to her
“Funny, neither can I.”
Your tablet drops from your hands as the familiar eye patch accompanied by the glare of Nick Fury steps into sight
Welp, this is gonna be fun.

If Sousa a good guy or no ?
Hi Anon!
He Darn well better be good! He is a legend in Shield and play a huge part in getting it off the ground. Because if he got turned bad there will be lots of fit throwing and whining from me.
I’m assuming you haven’t seen Agent Carter.
Daniel Sousa is an American soldier who fought during World War II. He had to abandon the warfield due to losing one of his legs, and became an agent of the Strategic Scientific Reserve within one of their offices in New York City where he was determined to prove his worth in spite of his disability.
Spoilers! At the end of Carter he and Peggy seal the deal after two seasons of will they won’t they and that is where we last saw him in LA. Then Endgame happened and Cap went back and had his Happy Ending so we’re gonna find out real quick how that effected Sousa.
Clark has also said in an interview that we are going to see a different Sousa than we last saw and that Coulson will indeed have some super fanboy moments with one of these Shield Legends.
We know he’s going to be in the mix for a long time too (he got a wrap gift so you don’t get that if you are only in an episode or two). I highly suspect he will be a target of the Chronicoms and like Coulson be an absolute wealth of Shield knowledge that even Coulson might not have.
An interesting note is in one of the shots of the 7.02 promo and the Chronicoms are attacking him and Mack he doesn’t have his cane. So he either lost it or maybe Jemma was able to help heal him.

19. The only obstacle (work colleagues)
“Boo.”
Steve jumped half a mile in the air and glared at Tony as he cackled wickedly.
“Was that really necessary?” he asked, watching Tony walking round to sit down opposite him.
“Nah, probably not,” Tony admitted with a smile, “but I just couldn’t resist.”
“You’re a jerk.”
“And you owe me a report,” Tony countered with a shrug. “S’why I’m here, actually. Do you have a copy? I need the remittances as well.”
Steve nodded and leant forward to ruffle thorough papers in his letter tray. “Yeah,” he said as he pulled out stapled sheets, “yeah, I’ve got copies. And the originals are in the filing cabinet over there if you needed those too.”
Tony beamed as he took the paperwork from Steve. “You’re amazing. Really, really just the best.”
Steve sighed as he watched Tony walk away from his desk, only jolting out of his daze when he received a swift smack to the back of his head.
“What?” Steve turned to stare at Bucky with a wounded expression, scowling when Bucky rolled his eyes.
“You’re so smitten. Always so out of it whenever he so much as walks past.”
Which… yeah, okay. That was true. There wasn’t much of a defence that Steve could give to that. He did have a bit of a crush on the other man, but who could blame him? There was something about Tony that just dragged people in, like moths to a flame. He had sort of magnetism that Steve couldn’t resist, something unnatural and without explanation.
They had been working together for about two years now, getting closer and closer each month until they couldn’t go a single day without talking to each other. They spent their lunch breaks together and sought each other out to grab coffee, bringing breakfasts in for the other on busy mornings and sharing their loads of paperwork.
“You should go for it,” Bucky said and Steve looked at him in confusion. “Tony,” he clarified, “you should ask him out.”
Steve shook his head and dropped his gaze to his desk, reaching out to fiddle with the loose paperclips and elastic bands. He really needed to buy some sort of pot for them, he reminded himself.
“I can’t ask him out,” Steve said, “we work together. And he’s a manager in this department. I’m pretty sure there’s a rule about that.”
Bucky’s eyebrows scrunched together. “He’s not a – Steve, wait. He isn’t–”
The phone on Steve’s desk started to ring and Steve grimaced at Bucky, tilting his head to signal to his friend to leave. Bucky did so, but he scribbled on a piece of paper and pushed it over to Steve. Nodding in acknowledgment, Steve took it and tucked it under his keyboard to read after his phone call as he picked up the receiver.
/
“Did you read it?”
Steve looked up when Bucky slid into the seat next to him. “Huh? Oh, your note? No, I forgot. Sorry.”
Bucky opened his mouth to say more before Steve twisted his head and looked around the meeting curiously. “Hey, where’s Tony? He’s gotten so much better at skipping meetings lately; I really thought he’d be here.”
“Steve, Tony’s been–”
Just as Steve turned his gaze on Bucky with wide eyes, the meeting started and Steve forgot his friend to look up at Coulson standing at the front of the room calling everyone to attention.
Steve walked out of the meeting with his head buried in his notes, re-reading the scribbles he had taken as Coulson had been talking. He loved his job, but damn, was it stressful. Bucky managed well enough and Steve was forever envious. Steve was the sort of guy that panicked when the slightest thing went wrong and more often than not was struck with a random work-related thought in the middle of the night.
Right. So he needed to send an email to one company to chase and ring someone else – that company was notorious for ignoring emails so it had to be a phone call. He also needed to put an order on…
Just as he was going over his to-do list in his head, Bucky nudged him and he looked up with a question on his face.
“Yeah?”
Bucky didn’t say anything in reply, just nodded down the hallway. Steve followed his friend’s eye line to Tony.
“Hi!” Steve abandoned his mental to-do list and thrust his notebook into Bucky’s stomach before heading down the corridor, drawing level with Tony. “Where were you?”
“What?” Tony’s brow furrowed in confusion and he looked at Steve for a moment, assessing him for something. He lifted his gaze and looked over Steve’s shoulder at Bucky, Steve twisting to look at him too.
“In the meeting,” Steve said, dismissing Bucky when he shrugged and turning back to Tony. “It was a department meeting. You should have been there; you’re in the department. Where were you?”
There was a long moment of silence where Tony squinted at him again and Steve got the distinct feeling that he had missed something vital. When he spun around again to look at Bucky, his friend lifted his hands in surrender and shook his head, a grin on his face.
“Don’t look at me, punk,” he said as he turned on his heel and walked away, “not my fault you’re an oblivious idiot.”
Steve frowned in offence. He wasn’t oblivious. Or an idiot, for that matter. He said as much as he turned back to Tony, earning himself a small smile. Okay, he was definitely missing something.
“I don’t work for the department,” Tony finally said.
“What?” Steve’s brain was spinning. Tony did work for the department; they’d worked together since Steve had started with the company. They were colleagues. What was Tony talking about? Wait… no, he hadn’t… “You haven’t quit?” he blurted out, his heart suddenly racing and a shiver going down his spine. “Tony, have you left?”
“No!” Tony laughed, disbelief colouring his tone. “Are you serious?”
“What?” Man, what was Steve missing? Was he really so work-obsessed that he had missed something this big?
“I work for the R&D department now.”
Steve’s mouth fell open. “Wait, you got a promotion? What? When?”
“Are you serious?”
Never mind asking if Steve was serious, was Tony serious? He got a promotion?
“When?”
“Like two months ago? Steve, you came to my celebration party.”
“That was for your merger!” Steve protested, “the one you got when you… oh.”
“Yeah, oh.” Tony rolled his eyes and sighed. “I thought you knew! You bought me a card!”
“For the merger! It was a huge deal and I was proud of you!”
Steve fell silent as he absorbed the new information. Tony really didn’t work in his department?
“So you really didn’t know?”
“No! Of course I didn’t know, Tony. You’re always in my office! You’re still always on our floor – how was I meant to know you don’t work for us anymore?”
“Well, the two departments are gonna be working closely together, so that’s why I’m always there. That and the fact that I want to see you.”
Despite Tony’s voice dropping to a mumble and his gaze falling to floor where his feet were shuffling awkwardly, Steve heard the words as clearly as if Tony had shouted them from the rooftops.
“I thought you knew I’d gone and didn’t really care.”
Steve held out his hand. “Do you really think I wouldn’t have done anything if I’d have known you weren’t my boss anymore?”
Tony’s head shot up and he stared at Steve in hesitant hope. “So that means you…” Tony hesitated and Steve smiled widely.
Steve didn’t bother to answer verbally. Instead he surged forward and caught Tony’s lips with his own, the kiss soft and sweet and yet passionate all at once. Steve’s hands framed Tony’s face as he tilted him just enough to swipe his tongue over Tony’s lips, tasting coffee and a doughnut and a flavour so wonderfully Tony that he wanted it forever.
“There’s no rule against this, right?” Steve whispered when they broke apart, Tony’s mouth still close enough that his breath tickled Steve’s lips.
“No,” Tony whispered back just as quietly, his eyes fluttering open, “I’m no longer in your department.”
“Okay. That’s good.” Steve’s reply was barely out of his mouth before his lips sealed over Tony’s once more and no more words were spoken.

Things I loved in individual Marvel Movies (FYI...there’s a lot)
Iron Man
The epitome of showing character development within the time frame of a single film through Tony Stark.
Pepper Potts pretty much being Tony’s baby sitter.
Soundtrack
A man who has everything and nothing.
It’s literally just a well balanced action movie.
The fact that is was mostly just RDJ improvising and the other actors having to work with it.
Tony realizing he is part of the problem and finds his purpose in trying to fix those problems, and by doing so working to become a better person.
The fact that Tony is still not a fully realized “hero” at the end of this film-- he still has some quirks to work through and is a little too arrogant. But this really sets up for even more amazing character development in the next films.
It is a movie of its time-- terrorism and greedy businessmen as the villains.
The fact that Tony and Pepper are not a couple by the end, even when I ship them.
“I am Iron Man” The instant new trend of not hiding their identity.
Tony: Throw in a little hot rod red. Jarvis: Yes, that will help you keep a low profile.
Pepper buying herself a birthday present from Tony.
Tony seeing her in the dress.
Pepper “taking out the garbage”-- burn
Tony’s suite tests and Dummy trying to put out a fire.
Tony making the first suite in the cave-- i love that montage
Stane’s moment in realizing how the suite worked-- it’s such a silent but great moment
“Don’t waste your life.”
The acting that takes place in the moment Stane takes the reactor out of Tony’s chest is amazing-- RDJ doesn’t even say anything.
Pepper getting the thumb drive out of the office-- and having the forethought to have Coulson follow her-- Coulson just sitting there waiting (it was oddly funny to me).
The eventual use of the SHIELD acronym
Proof that Tony Stark has a heart.
I don’t have anyone but you.
Iron Man 2
Tony and Pepper kissing for the first time....admittedly the first two films came out at a time when the thing I mostly cared about was shipping.
Soundtrack
Stark clearly still developing as a person and superhero...I love me some character development.
Stark refusing to give the suite
“If your priority was to actually to...”-- Tony questioning governmental control
“I am Iron Man. The suite and I are one. To turn it over will be to turn over myself which would be tantamount to indentured servitude or prostitution...”
The Iron Man suit as a “shield”--- interesting.
I love watching Tony in his workshop.
Dummy.
Pepper taking charge several times throughout.
Natasha totally taking out Happy when he assumes she can’t.
Pepper actually coming to like Natasha as her assistant.
Tony dealing with his mortality
Tony: Were you aiming for him or me...I can’t tell!
Happy just ramming into Whiplash with the car over and over again.
I told you I don’t want to be part of your super secret boy band.
Fury and Tony talking about Howard Stark and how he was one of the founding members of shield.
Shout out to the tessaract.
Phil: I will taze you and watch super nanny as your drool into the carpet. Got it?
The ex wife.
Tony: Hammer tech? Rhodey: Yea.
Two seals fighting over a grape.
Phil leaving to go to New Mexico-- Thor shout out.
“Nice work kid.”
Pepper!!!
War machine and Iron Man working together to beat the iron suites-- I am partial to the shots of them in the Park area
Natasha beating the shit out of all the guys as she makes her way down the hallway...doing so very nonchalantly-- while happy takes on one guy.
Tony: You have a big gun but you’re not the big gun.
Hammer’s shock that Pepper is having him arrested while Pepper just glares at him totally unafraid of him.
Captain America shout out.
Pepper and Tony kiss.
I was here first, get a roof.
Tony: Text book narcissism?....agreed.
Getting the guy who hated Stark to present the award at the end.
“Funny, how annoying a little prick can be.”
Iron Man 3
Tony interacting with Harley
The question if Iron Man is the suite or the man-- Tony clearly needing to come to terms with the question if his heroism comes from the man or the suite-- and has to do so by accepting his weaknesses.
Tony proving he can still be a hero without the suite. He is a mechanic-- him infiltrating the mandarin mansion without the suite and just a bunch of every day items is amazing. This film just reminds us that his bad-assery comes from his mind. It is honestly just one of the best Stark moments all around.
Continuity in how Tony is affected by what happens to him.
Pepper coming to the rescue.
The fact that Tony went back for Dummy after his home was attacked.
In the end Tony is sure that even without the suite he is still Iron Man-- You can take away my tricks and toys, but the one thing you can’t take away...I am Iron Man.
The Dora Explorer watch
Honestly, I hate working here. They are so weird.
Captain America
Agent Carter totally beating the men into place and Steve clearly loving it.
Bucky: Weren’t you smaller?... What happened to you? Steve: I joined the army. Bucky: Did it hurt...is it permanent? Steve: A little...so far.
The introduction of the heart of the character-- good man vs perfect soldier
He’s artistic-- this really says something about his character.
The flag bit will not make me laugh.
Peggy Carter...enough said...literally...everything about her.
Steve using the garbage lid as a shield-- I just like the foreshadowing... someone get that man a shield.
I can do this all day-- even when he is tiny and doesn’t stand a chance he doesn’t back down against a bully knowing he won’t win (but he still called out the bully)
Knowing Peggy touching Steve’s chest was technically an honest reaction by the actress-- she was literally so shocked by seeing him without a shirt for the first time.
The fact that I can say, “aw look how cute and little they are,” about both Bucky and Steve.
Steve jumping on the grenade...is this a test?
He’s still skinny.
“You have no idea how to talk to a woman do you.”
“Waiting for the right partner.”
“How do you feel?” “Taller.”
“I could do this all day.”
Peggy making a kill shot on a man that is in a car and at quite a distance.
Peggy non nonchalantly shooting at Steve to test shield, but mostly out of jealousy...and Steve looking ready to pee himself.
Kid: go get him, I can swim.
The extreme differences in the reactions to the “performance” in the cities compared to the camps.
I really like the leather jacket.
“Where I am going if anyone yells at me I can shoot them” “Undoubtedly they will be shooting back.”
Fondue
Peggy: You can’t give me orders. Steve: The hell I can’t, I am a Captain.
Steve: You sure this thing works? Howard: It’s been tested more than you, pal.
Do you know what you’re doing? Steve: Yeah, I knocked out Adolf Hitler over 200 times.
Until the end of the line.
Bucky: You don’t have one of those do you?
Bucky refusing to leave Steve behind.
Cap and Bucky leading the rescued men back to camp.
I couldn’t call my ride.
Bucky: That little guy from Brooklyn that was too dumb to run away from a fight, I am following him.
Bucky: I am visible, I am turning into you. This is a horrible dream. Steve: Don’t take it so hard. Maybe she has a friend.
Bucky’s face of pure confusion after realizing Peggy wasn’t going to give him the time of day.
The subtle development of the friendship between Howard and Steve.
Bucky’s sniper skills.
Bucky: Remember when I made you ride the Cyclone at Coney Island? Steve: Yeah, and I threw up. Bucky: This isn’t payback is it?
Bucky: I had him on the ropes. Steve: I know you did.
Any time Bucky and Steve work together-- it just comes off very natural.
Bucky wielding, if only for a moment, the Captain America Shield.
Peggy and Steve’s kiss
I am not kissing ya.
Steve’s sacrifice.
Steve being able to think coherently enough to recognize that something is wrong when he wakes up by realizing the baseball game is too old.
The shot of Steve on a modern New York City.
“I had a date.”
Captain America Winter Soldier
The opening running scene (rather than something more actionesque-- and the banter that builds as Steve continuously passes Sam... this also really sets up the fact that this is a film that concentrates almost solely on characters (despite having great action sequences).
On your left....two passes later...Don’t say it.
Steve’s speech over the intercom, “...It’s a price I’m willing to pay. I may be the only one...but I am willing to bet I am not.”
Steve in glasses.
The Winter Solider-- his knife skills....the clear progression throughout the film as he becomes more and more conflicted.
“I am 95, I am not dead.”--- I need more information about this line.
“Does anyone want to get off?”
Natasha and Steve as a team-- Steve becoming more trusting of her
The fact that of any movie he could have watched after waking up Steve watched “Saw”
Steve/WS hand to hand battle
“This isn’t freedom; this is fear.” (Steve seeing Shield as a bully...he doesn’t like bullies)
Steve’s progressive realization that the power of the individual to make choices is more important than orders from an entity that may have ulterior motives.
Falcon/Sam treating Steve like a regular guy and just developing a loyal friendship that I appreciate.
WS catching Steve’s shield with one arm.
Until the end of the line.
Bucky/WS’s murder walk.
Nat: Where did Captain America learn to steal a car? Steve: Nazi Germany, and we’re borrowing, take your feet off the dash.
It’s really not your style Rogers. Steve: You’re right, it’s not, it’s hers (then commence Nat still trying to find Steve a date).
Captain America Civil War
Bucky noticeably uncomfortable when he first hears the sirens, then his relief when they pass him and the immediate return to being on edge when he notices the man looking at him from across the street.
So many reminders that Bucky’s nature is not toward violence.
Steve confronting Bucky in his apartment only for Bucky to run, trying so hard to avoid a fight...but the fight that happens I love, especially in the stairwell.
Bucky going after the reactor of the Iron Man suite-- noticeably not going for killing blows during the final fight and despite Tony full out trying to kill him.
How tired and sad Bucky sounds when he tells Cap, “It always ends in a fight
Wanda: You guys know I can move things with my mind right.
Wanda: You were pulling your punches.
Steve’s talk with Wanda about doing and saving who you can and that it doesn’t always mean everyone.
Tony managing to disarm the greatest assassin with nothing but a gauntlet while wearing a three piece suite.
Steve’s clear conflict regarding his friendship with Tony and willingness to forgive him at the end.
Wanda’s relationship with both Clint and Steve... I wanted more of this.
Steve understanding the dangers of the accords more than Tony (based on experience)-- and the importance of his message, “you can’t save everyone,” but you can save the majority.
I admit...this movie got me so worked up about how Tony wants so much to start pushing away the blame for even one lost life that he becomes so willing to place all the responsibility on a governmental power rather than the individual (as Steve believes) even at the cost of putting targets on the back of his friends/allies. I will never not be shocked at his shock when he talks of Wanda as a weapon or his shock when they put them all in prison. But I also love that I got so worked up about this-- it makes for a great watch.
“No you move.”
Bucky and the motorcycle-- wow, that was not only cool...but it was really, REALLY hot.
I can’t control their fear-- only my own.
I retire for like what five minutes and it all goes to shit.
You want to mope go to high school. You want to make amends, you get off your ass.
I can’t, but she can.
You locked me in my room.
Bucky being totally done with all the weird stuff going on around him.
“I can do this all day.”
Geez, Tony. How old is this guy.
Bucky moving in front of Sam to protect him from Spiderman.
You couldn’t have done that earlier? (I hate you.)
Can you move your seat up. (No).
“You don’t deserve it-- My father made that shield”-- he sounds like a child trying to defend himself and his actions. Steve dropping the shield and taking Bucky is pretty much him winning the fight-- taking the higher ground-- good man vs. good soldier being reiterated here. The shield doesn’t take away from Cap’s strength at all-- what made him a hero is his heart, the fact that he is a good man and he doesn’t need the shield. This is something that Tony is still learning and coming to terms with in his developmental arc.
This is the first time that we see Tony truly angry during his first with Steve-- he is being driven by his instincts to get revenge at that moment-- he is devastating but it takes away from one of his strengths-- thinking things out.
Tony is in the wrong regarding his trying to kill Bucky, he even practically admits it when Steve attempts to get him to see reason, “I don’t care, he killed my mom.” Tony is in the wrong and yet Steve still understands Tony’s feelings, yet he can’t let Bucky die even from someone he calls a friend-- this just makes for good emotionally intense conflict that is matched by the actual physical conflict.
Steve: He’s my friend. Tony: So was I-- this line literally emotionally devastates both characters.
Steve: I can do this all day. (Cap refusing to back down to protect his friend).
Tony losing because of one moment Bucky helps Steve simply by providing a seconds distraction.
Natasha being there for Steve at Peggy’s funeral
Tony trying to appeal to Steve’s past in order to get him to sign the accords using pens from Howard (one for each of them) and Steve’s response, “Some would say it bought us closer to war.” What a way to immediately set up where these two stand.
The idea that there are two sides to “right”-- Steve concentrating on moral and Tony being a realist... it really calls in to question which side you agree with most, and I love that.
Steve: If I see a situation going south I can’t ignore it. I wish I could. Tony: No you don’t. Steve: You’re right, I don’t.
Tony clearly trying to use the accords as an excuse to help him stop because he keeps finding excuses to not stop even when he wants to for Pepper
Did you know?-- the fact that it finally is made clear that Steve is not perfect and is willing to lie. He has reasons, but I think it is great to realize the contrast between the legend of perfect Captain America and Steve Rogers.
Steve realizing that the accords are similar to what Shield was doing in trying to deter war using fear/threats/control before it happened (which never works)-- Steve’s, “She’s a kid!” vs Tony’s, “She’s not a U.S. citizen and they don’t grant visas to weapons of mass destruction!” is really Steve’s break away from any possibility of him signing the accords.
Tony’s greatest fear of being alone coming to pass as he is left at Avengers headquarters alone.
Steve: Where you from kid? Peter: Queens. Steve: Brooklyn
Tony never really seems to truly agree with the accords (not only does he also break them) on a moral level and he seems haunted by it throughout the film, while Steve is made stronger by his decision because he is sure of his position
Tony: I am trying to keep you from tearing the Avengers apart. Steve: You did that when you signed-- how upset Tony is vs. how calm and matter of fact Steve is (who is surer of themselves?)
Thor
Frigga and Loki’s relationship
Darcy... she needs to be around more in the other movies.
Not that it’s a favorite thing, but I am honestly always confused how Thor is so hero worshiped when he’s kind of a dick at the beginning, and then when Loki starts doing similar things that Thor did he’s the bad guy (not saying he should have done them...but double standards and hypocrisy abound in this movie). The more you watch the more you realize that everyone treats Loki like crap... like wow, they were all lucky Loki loved Thor and his family or he would have done something much sooner.
Loki’s manipulations.
Sif: I did. Thor: True, but I supported you.
“ What happened, silver tongue turned to lead?”
Loki’s entire storyline.
Sif.
Loki using magic and daggers-- his fighting style is so interesting, wish we saw more of it.
“Go home little princess.” “Damn”
Loki being touched by the frost giant.
Loki more actively protecting the warriors three and Sif on Johtunheim than Thor.
Loki’s face while listening to the argument between Odin and Thor.
Darcy: Does he need CPR, because I totally know CPR.
Darcy: Yeah, we can tell you’re hammered, it's pretty obvious.
Jane: I grazed him, but she tasered him. Darcy: Yes, I did.
The number of times Jane hits Thor with a car.
Loki’s confrontation with Odin and the pure emotion that Hiddleston portrays in that moment.
Thor’s new found love of pop tarts and coffee
Next time you decide to taser someone make sure he’s already in the car.
Jane and Darcy’s reactions to Thor’s attractiveness.
“I used to know this scientist. I pioneer in gamma radiation. SHIELD showed up and I never saw them again.”
The first introduction to Hawkeye...being told to grab a gun but taking the bow and arrow instead.
Barton: You want me to slow him down sir or are you going to send in more guys for him to beat up.
Thor: You’re big- fought bigger.
Barton: I am starting to root for this guy.
Science Fiction as a precursor to science fact.
Science Fiction is just science we don’t understand yet.
My realization that even as early as the first Thor film Thor and Loki’s earth fashion sense was already very much established- high power businessman vs. “very comfortable/casual”-- symbolic, maybe.
The fact that Loki as a villain is perfection-- he is a match for Thor, he is personable, his motivations are similar but he has different methods, and you can see some reason in them.
Donald Blake shout outs.
Loki going from being rather meek at the beginning compared to his second return to Johtunheim to strike a deal with Laufey.
The fact that Loki clearly had no intention of letting Laufey kill Odin.
Heimdal’s learning that Loki is a better sorcerer then he was given credit for and can cloak himself even from the gatekeeper.
Thor and Jane bonding over science/magic.
We got xena, Jackie chan and Robin hood.
“Found you!”
“Is that one of Stark’s?”
Thor’s sacrifice- I love the drama of it.
Thor’s powers being returned- again, very dramatic.
So this is how you normally look-- it’s a good look.
Loki: I never wanted the throne! I only wanted to be your equal.
Thor pinning Loki just by putting the hammer on his chest.
Loki: I could have done it, father!Loki’s look of devastation when he is again rejected by his father.
Thor Dark World
Ta Da!
Loki totally ignoring the chaos of battle around him as he reads a book.
“I like her.”
You’ll what? Kill me? Evidently, there will be a line.
Loki: Now they’re firing at us. Thor: Thank you for the commentary Loki, it's not at all distracting.
Loki and Thor teaming up and using Loki’s magic in battle... I would have loved to have seen more of this team up happening in the films
To be honest, the only real saving grace of this movie was Loki... which I can get behind.
“I didn’t do it for him.”
Loki lecturing Thor about his escape plan and Thor pushing him out the open hatch in their ship.
Loki being revealed on the throne.
“Oh dear, is she dead?”
“I think you missed a column”
Loki’s reaction to Frigga’s death.
Loki’s look after having yelled at his mother.
Frigga attempting to make Loki’s imprisonment comfortable, she will never not see him as her son.
Who put me there! (There are so many levels to that statement and the acting is amazing).
Thor Ragnarok
Soundtrack
The whole play that Loki had written for himself and his pure enjoyment of it while pretending to be Odin.
“Beg your pardon?”
“You had one job. Just the one.”
“I am not a witch.” “How come you dress like one?” “Hey (offended).”
Thor’s powers
“I’ve been falling for 30 minutes!”
Hela-- love her-- a little anti-climatic ending.
Loki’s epic eye roll.
“Oh shit.”
Thor totally fangirling over Valkyrie.
Thor’s story about when he and Loki were 8 and Loki pretended to be a snake before stabbing him.
“It’s in my brain now”
Thor being full out God of Thunder and the soundtrack during the scene is amazing.
“I am not doing get help.”
“Do you have a better plan?” “No.” “We’re doing it.”
Loki cheering the Hulk smashing Thor.
Loki using his daggers again...I still wish we got to see more of that.
Your savior is here.
“I saw you coming.” “Of course you did”
“I’ve never met this man in my life.” “He’s my brother.” “Adopted.”
“I’m here.”
Avengers
There is something I greatly enjoy about the shot of Loki being taken in shackles down the hallway of the Shield based-- he definitely still feels in control even then.
Learning to become a team and not just automatically being a well-oiled machine.
Tony and Bruce’s science bromance
There will always be men like you.
Loki: I am listening.
Tony: Doth mother know you wearath her drapes.
Fury: 10 bucks says your wrong...Cap paying up on his bet with Fury.
Cap’s simple response: You should have left it in the ocean.
Avengers theme
I’ve got red in my ledger, I’d like to wipe it out.... the whole scene between Loki and Nat and the changing power dynamics during it is simply great writing and acting. And the end line of Nat’s being, “Thank you for your cooperation,” to show she came out on top in that battle is extra awesome.
She turns out not be another pretty face--- and then Natasha proceeds to annihilate them single-handed
Coulson calling Natasha through her targets phone then arguing with him on the phone that she’s too busy working, while also being tied up.
Natasha being convinced to leave her mission by being told Barton was compromised.
Bruce is on the run but still trying to do good.
Mark Ruffalo as Bruce
“No its won by soldiers”...fade into Captain America’s first intro in the film.
Tony: Like Christmas, but more me.
12% of a moment.
Tony: his first name is agent.
Pepper: Is this about the Avengers initiative...which I know nothing about. Tony:...I didn’t qualify for. Pepper: I didn’t know that either. Tony: Apparently I am volatile, self-obsessed, don’t play well with others. Pepper: That I did know.
Phil and Pepper being chummy with each other...I would have enjoyed more of this.
Coulson totally fan-boying over Cap.
Coulson: I watched you while you were sleeping.
Natasha: I thought Coulson was going to swoon. Has he asked you to sign his trading cards yet? They’re vintage, he’s very proud.
Bruce: They want me in a submerged pressurized metal container? (sees its actually going to take flight instead) Oh no, this is much worse (in complete sarcasm).
Cap immediately accepting Bruce.
How obviously uncomfortable Bruce is upon first going on the helicarrier surrounded by people. Such good acting.
Cap: Mr. Stark. Tony: Captain
Fury: Ant, meet boot.
Stark needing entrance music to confront Loki.
The near instant tension between Cap and Tony after capturing Loki.
Loki: I am not overly fond of what follows.
Cap: Stark, we need a plan of attack. Stark: I have a plan, attack.
Loki: I remember a shadow, living in the shade of your greatness.
Tasha: He’s killed 80 people in two days. Thor: He’s adopted.
Cap: I knew that reference!
Hill: When did you become an expert in thermonuclear astrophysics. Tony: Last night.
Tony: I am a huge fan of how you lose control and turn into an enormous green rage monster.
Tony: An intelligence organization that fears intelligence? Historically, not awesome.
Bruce being uncomfortable naming the Hulk and calling him ‘the other guy’
Bruce looking so uncomfortable during the first act of the film
Tony and Cap bringing up phase 2 at the same time in two different ways-- action and intelligence.
Tony: I am sorry Nick, you were lying.
Bruce: I am not leaving just because you get a little twitchy.
Tony: How is this now about me? Cap: I am sorry, isn’t everything.
Cap: You may not be a threat but you better stop acting like a hero. Tony: Like you? Everything special about you came out of a bottle. (pretty much this entire conversation)
Cap: put on the suite let’s find out. Tony: I am not afraid of you old man. (explosion) Cap: Put on the suite. Tony: Yep.
Cap: It seems to run on some form of electricity. Tony: Well, you’re not wrong.
Loki: Are you ever not going to fall for that?
Phil: So that’s what it does.
Man: You an alien...no...well, then son you’ve got a condition.
Tony: He wants a monument with his name plastered...son of a bitch.
Thinking he is going to die wants to call and talk to Pepper.
Tony: We have a hulk.
Tony: We may not be able to protect the earth but you can damn well be sure we’ll avenge it.
Cop: Why the hell should I take orders from you. ( Cap destroys some aliens...cop then immediately obeys orders.)
Bruce: That’s my secret... I am always angry.
That epic Avengers assemble round shot.
Barton not even looking while he makes a kill shot.
Fury: I recognize the council as made a decision, but given that it is a stupid ass decision I’ve elected to ignore it.
Hulk saving Tony
The “A” left on Stark tower.
Avengers Age of Ultron
The reaction of the Avengers when discovering Barton’s family life.
The fact that Barton has a normal family life.
Language.
Please be a secret door...yay!
Tony: Good talk. Random Hydra Extra: No it wasn’t
The teamwork in the opening scene
I somehow found myself shipping Nat and Bruce.
“A great deal of complaining and tales of torn deltoids.”- Thor
“He’s the boss”- Tony about Cap
“He’s fast and she’s weird” - Maria Hill
“What kind of monster would allow a German scientist to experiment on him in order to protect his country?”- Cap to Hill
“Unlike you, I don’t have a lot of time...will...Thor be there”
Sam: following cold leads on our missing person's case (Bucky).
“He’s also a huge dork...chicks dig that.”- Natasha flirting with Bruce by describing him...then Cap totally shipping them.
Cap: I’ve seen her flirt up close...As may be the world’s leading authority on waiting too long...don’t. Bruce: What do you mean up close?
The team trying to lift the hammer.
Cap: Together. Tony: We’ll lose. Cap: Then we’ll do that together too.
Black Panther references
Tony admitting that watching his friends die is not as bad as watching them die and he doesn’t.
Tony: I cracked into the Pentagon when I was in high school on a dare.
Cap: I really miss the days when the weirdest thing science created was me.
Barton: You’re no match for him, Captain. Cap:...Thanks, Barton.
Natasha: Cap, keep them occupied. Cap (out of breath): What do you think I’ve been doing?
Wanda....everything Wanda
Wanda: Ultron can’t tell the difference between saving the world and destroying it; where do you think he gets that?
Vision handing Thor’s hammer to him like its no big deal.
No one listening to Pietro so he comes back with a gun...”get off your asses.”
Cap: You get killed, walk it off....you didn’t finish....what were you napping.
I actually never realized just how snarky Steve is in this movie.
The teamwork between Thor and Cap is awesome.
Wanda’s entrance as an Avenger...YES!!!!!
Cap: We are not clear...we are really not clear.
Pietro: Keep up old man. Barton: No one would know...no one...last time I saw him Ultron was sitting on him...quick little bastard.
The fact that the above line was improvised by Renner.
Thor:...I am running out of things to say....you ready.
Pietro’s sacrifice. Wanda’s reaction after feeling it.
Barton names his son after both Natasha and Pietro.
Cap and Tony arguing that Vision picking up the hammer doesn’t count...and an elevator is also not worthy.
Wanda: I’ll protect it (looks at Hawkeye). It’s my job.
Vision: He’s right, he hates you the most.
Hulk having an obvious soft spot for Natasha
Natasha opening up to Bruce about her past.
Tony: Like the old man said, together.
Natasha: Still think you’re the only monster?
The whole idea of what makes a monster and how many people view someone else or themselves as a monster is so interesting and play a huge role in characterization.
Steve refusing to leave the flying city as long as there was even one civilian left there... Nat agreeing with him, “There are worse ways to go.”
Fury’s entrance and Steve’s, “Fury, you son of a bitch.”
Avengers Infinity War
Cap’s entrance by walking out of the shadows
Tom Holland’s improvising his death scene.
We don’t want to kill you, but we will.
Earth just lost her best defender.
Wanda being a complete badass-- she literally destroyed a stone with one hand and held off a nearly fully powered Thanos with the other
Caps glorious beard.
“I see you copied my beard.”
Strange seeing only ONE possible win in thousands...then giving up the stone... we’re in the endgame now...it was the only way.
Shuri making Bruce feel like an idiot.
Someone get this man a shield.
Steve and T’Challa running to the front of the battle line.
“I hope they remember you.”
Bucky alive and well
You speak groot...it was an elective.
Bring me Thanos!!! (In fact, the entire scene of Thor arriving to join the fight is cinematic gold)
Thanos on the farm-- yes, let them reiterate he won...like wow... you don’t get that much
What was she doing up there all this time?
“She’s not alone.”
Loki revealing the tessaract...trying to take Thanos on alone...and getting in one last jab with, “You will never be a god.”
Quill attempting to mimic Thor’s voice.
Rabbit
Any interaction between Thor and Rocket
Rocket engaging Thor in a meaningful conversation to comfort him-- such a huge growth is seen in his character.
Quill: What kind of weapon are we talking about here. Thor: The Thanos killing kind. Quill: Don’t you think we should all have a weapon like that.
“Stop messaging his muscles.”
Thor: Your bodies crumble as your minds collapse into madness. Rocket: Is it weird I want to do it even more now? Thor: A little bit.
Thor: He’s never fought me. Rocket: Yes he has. Thor: He’s never fought me twice.
It will kill you. Thor: Only if I die.
I’m way past asking for permission.
The 50% of me that’s stupid, that’s 100% you.
Rocket being picked up by Bucky and both continuing to shoot.
Oh, I’ll get that arm.
Thor being heartbreakingly optimistic and hiding his pain behind a smile until Rocket asks, “What if you’re wrong?” and Thor responds, “What more could I lose?” and Rocket’s, “I could lose a lot.”
The snap...”Oh god.”
You should have gone for the head.
You’re an Avenger now.
Peter: I should’ve gone home but it was such a long way down... If anything it’s kind of your fault that I am here. (Tony’s face is great)
Tony: The kid has seen more movies.
Tony and Thanos’ confrontation.
The adults are talking.
Steve giving his all to hold back Thanos with his bare hands and Thanos’ face of momentary confusion that a single man could hold him back even for a second.
My constant wondering what the result would have been if Tony and Cap were together in any of the scenes-- they work best together despite their contrasting personalities.
Doctor Strange
An arrogant man being forced to reconsider his world view and grow
Strange’s reaction to killing a man is perfect for the character but also just great acting from Ben.
Strange being called Master Strange and not wanting the title and being very adamant about not wanting the responsibility
Refusing to kill and being called a coward for it, but refusing to budge from his belief which results in a very interesting and wholly creative end battle... and fully earning and owning the title of Master.
Strange: You lack imagination. (No you lack a spine).
Dormmamu, I’ve come to bargain.
A hero actually using an infinity stone.
Say what you want about this film but I honestly think it has a great character arc for Strange.
The cloak.
Strange’s jokes.
Strange using astral projection to learn more.
The Incredible Hulk
It was better than the first one...remake it with Mark Ruffalo and we’ll talk.
Guardians of the Galaxy
Soundtrack
Introduction to Star-Lord
The mugshot line up and jailbreak
“You said it yourself bitch, we’re the guardians of the galaxy”
Dance off distraction... also perfect part of his characterization.
Quill trying to get Gamora to join in on the dance off.
The circle moment where Quill first becomes emotionally open and asks for help-- ending with Rocket’s “We’re all standing now.”
Peter coming to terms with his mother’s death as signified by his finally opening her final gift to him.
We are groot.
Rocket’s commentary while on the public while tracking down Quill
Rocket: What’s a Racoon? Quill: You are stupid. Rocket: Ain’t no thing like me except me.
Rocket’s bed fur.
Gamora: You must be joking. Rocket: No I really heard they find you attractive.
Let’s just say I really like Rocket.
Quill: A bomb? And you just leave it laying around? Rocket: I was going to put it in a box.
Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2
The Guardians team...this movie was pretty disappointing in most areas but I did enjoy the interactions among the characters.
Ego brainwashing Quill through so much of the film to convince him that he is above his team and be swayed to Ego’s side
The bodies of Ego’s children reveal
Yondu being revealed to be the hero and the real father figure
You look like Mary Poppins...Is he cool....Yeah... I am Mary Poppins y’all.
Peter’s discovery of the cause of his mother’s death-- that moment is amazing cinema
Ego: You are a god...if you kill me you’ll be just like everyone else. Quill: What’s so wrong with that? (aka being perfect doesn’t mean shit)
By the end, the Guardians become a family.
Rocket and Yando interaction... they’re both assholes that care.
Rocket’s shock that the colors shined for Yondu in his death... Quill accepting and sharing in Rocket’s pain in that moment.
Spiderman Homecoming
If you’re nothing without the suite then you shouldn’t have it.
The car intense car scene-- amazing cinema there
Peter: Come on Peter...come on, Spiderman.
Training wheels protocol
If you even cared you’d actually be here.
The adult is talking.
Peter is pretty bad at keeping his secret.
MJ reveal
Peter deciding to continue being the friendly neighborhood Spiderman for a while longer.
Happy having kept a ring on him for years.
Peter speaking revealing he can understand and speak Spanish when the shop keeper talks about Aunt May.
Ant-Man
The father-daughter relationship is adorable.
“I hope you don’t catch him.”
My days of breaking in and stealing shit are done. What do you want me to do? (I want you to break into a place and steal some shit.)
Scott as a father.
Ant-Man and Wasp
The montage of what Scott does in his spare time while under house arrest.
Again...father/daughter relationship.
The fact that Scott and Paxton go from viewing each other with low opinions in the first movie to seeing each other like family... it's so healthy.
Black Panther
Killmonger’s entrance into the throne room and very nonchalantly stating that he wants the throne before demanding to be asked who he is and letting it rip. The calm to intense anger is awesome.
This corset is really uncomfortable so can we wrap this up and go home?
What are THOOOSSEE?!
Everyone is shooting at me...wait let me put on my helmet.
Okay...let us just assume most of this list would consist of the wonder that is princess Shuri.
“Americans”
Great another broken white boy for us to fix.
T’Challa’s growth as a character by coming to understand the world differently through Killmonger’s actions.
The fact that T’Challa and Killmonger actually want similar things but come into conflict by their complete opposite ways of going about accomplishing their goal.
Stand up, you are a king.
The fact that T’Challa surrounds himself with females rather than men as his most loyal, fierce, and intelligent people.
Killmonger and T’Challa sharing a sunset and having a moment of understanding before Killmonger’s death.
The truth behind Killmonger’s reasoning and goals.
“Would you kill me, my love?” “For Wakanda? Without question.”
You can’t blame me, I almost died.
The moment I believe T’Challa became king: You were wrong! All of you were wrong! We let the fear of our discovery stop us from doing what is right!
.....I’ll add more, I’ve just been working at it for so long as I rewatched the films I am just posting it now and will add on later
