Excerpt from Timequake (1997) by Kurt Vonnegut

[H]is older brother Frank, an architect, had committed suicide after a nearly identical blow to his self-respect only a month earlier. Yes, and Frank Pepper would eventually be popped out of his grave by the timequake, so he could blow his brains out while his wife and three kids watched a second time.

Here’s the thing: Frank went to the drugstore for condoms or chewing gum or whatever, and the pharmacist told him that his sixteen-year-old daughter had become an architect and was thinking of dropping out of high school because it was such a waste of time. She had designed a recreation center for teenagers in depressed neighborhoods with the help of a new computer program the school had bought for its vocational students, dummies who weren’t going to anything but junior colleges. It was called Palladio.

Frank went to a computer store, and asked if he could try out Palladio before buying it. He doubted very much that it could help anyone with his native talent and education. So right there in the store, and in a period of no more than half an hour, Palladio gave him what he had asked it for, working drawings that would enable a contractor to build a three-story parking garage in the manner of Thomas Jefferson.

Frank had made up the craziest assignment he could think of, confident that Palladio would tell him to take his custom elsewhere. But it didn’t! It presented him with menu after menu, asking how many cars, and in what city, because of various local building codes, and whether trucks would be allowed to use it, too, and on and on. It even asked about surrounding buildings, and whether Jeffersonian architecture would be in harmony with them. It offered to give him alternative plans in the manner of Michael Graves or I. M. Pei.

It gave him plans for the wiring and plumbing, and ballpark estimates of what it would cost to build in any part of the world he cared to name.

So Frank went home and killed himself the first time.

The Saga of K9

1977: Bob Baker and Dave Martin create K9 for the Doctor Who story The Invisible Enemy. He was only supposed to be in that serial, but production made him a companion as he would be popular with kids.

After four seasons as a companion, K9 became an icon of classic Doctor Who. Due to a quirk of character rights at the time, Bob Baker and Dave Martin owned K9 as a character. This spawned decades of attempts to make a spin-off featuring K9...

1979: The Adventures of K9 and Other Mechanical Creatures:

1980: The Adventures of K9 books are published. K9 fights the Time Lord "Omegon" in one:

1981: A pilot episode is made for K9 and Company. The BBC does not pick it up for a full season:

1982: The K9 Annual 1983 is published:

1997-98: DWM 253 announces a four-part pilot for a K9 series is being developed. DWM 269 reveals concept art made by Rory McLeish:

2006: K9 returns to Doctor Who in School Reunion:

2007: K9 is relegated to small cameos in The Sarah Jane Adventures as Bob Baker is still developing his own K9 spin-off:

2007: Dave Martin passes away.

2009-10: A K9 spin-off series is finally made in Australia, independently from the BBC. K9 had to be redesigned because the BBC owns his original design. The series has mixed reviews at best and lasts one season:

2015: The Essential Book of K9 is published. It features another redesign of K9 in the comic Short Circuit.

2015: A film titled K9: TimeQuake is announced and slated for a theatrical release in 2017. It will feature K9 fighting the Time Lord Omega.

2017 comes and goes with no news.

2018: A multi-million dollar K9 TV series is being developed to lead into K9: TimeQuake:

2020: The anthology book K9: Megabytes is released and promoted as a prequel to TimeQuake.

2021: Bob Baker passes away. His obituary mentions he has written scripts for a K9 film and TV series:

2023: Concept art for K9: Omega Rises is shown at the conversion Invasion Blackpool. The concept art shows K9, a new male character, Omega, Matter Beasts, and Dinodragons. The status of this project is unknown.

I never saw anyone address this, mainly for it being a FitzSimmons moment with Jemma remembering Alya's existence and it was very emotional. But this made me think about what Jemma said that Daisy and Mack are everything to Daniel and Elena and why she said that. Jemma makes that connection of Alya and her family with Fitz being her everything the way that Mack is Elena's and Daisy is Daniel's. Elena and Mack have an established relationship with years of history at this point but what about Daisy and Daniel? Sure Daniel stayed with the team in 1976 after bringing back a tortured Daisy, there is a clear attraction/admiration/respect between the pair and he was willing to sacrifice himself so Daisy could keep her team aka her family together. However, this is not enough in this possibly new relationship to define someone as their "everything". With that in mind, Daisy could most definitely become Daniel's "everything" in a year or so. Therefore, I would like to think that while she and Fitz were in space, living their lives and making some progress with the time machine and looking at the different time streams, Jemma noticed something. She would notice something building up between Daniel and Daisy with every timeline that he would stay with the time. I would like to think that Jemma would look at all the timelines that Daniel stays in after the events of their last mission as a team and watch her sister be in a loving relationship in multiple timelines. These would be a form of comfort to Jemma, especially knowing since last speaking to Daisy on that topic, she was ready to be someone again, not just anyone but her own Fitz. After Daisy and Jemma have this conversation, Daisy literally meets Daniel which I think could be a week or two later. So when Jemma says, they're your everything, it's because Jemmas has seen Daisy become his everything.

This would also explain why Fitz would not question Daniel's presence when he joins that team because Jemma would be like "He is her Fitz!" and Jemma being happy for Daisy would make him happy.
