A loud rumble from a run-down truck rang outside your trailer window, jolting you from sleep. The book you abandoned some hours ago slid off your chest as you sat on the bed to peek outside. Snow continued to fall and hardened on the window sill from earlier that morning, each flake a silent whisper against the palm of your hand as you held it out in the icy air. Metal music blared through the familiar window across from yours, drawing your attention toward the warm glow coming from inside. An overpowering scent of weed lingered between the two trailers—something you'd found comfort in within the last couple of months of living next door to the Munsons. Of course, you'd heard the rumors where Eddie was concerned, and you'd have to be blind not to see how people treated him around here. Everyone ignored him, wrote him off as a freak while telling the tale of the long-haired devil-worshiping drug dealer to anyone who would listen. But after almost a year of living next to Eddie, you realized that couldn't be further from the truth.
The first night, Eddie crept up on your front porch when you weren't looking, making himself comfortable on the wooden staircase, offering whatever joint he was nursing—all leather jacket and wild hair with a grin that could warm you to your core if you let yourself admire him for a little too long. Since then, you'd meet Eddie outside once everyone had gone to bed and let his wild D&D stories carry you through the night. The world around you seemed to soften around Eddie, swallowed up by the relentless comfort of his presence. Even when he was gone, one last tiny blaze of warmth and light continuously flickered in your chest for him.
The night air was crisp, making you cling to your blanket that much tighter as you curled up in bed. You nearly jumped when you heard a thump against your bedroom window, a snowball crumbling as another landed against the window pane.
"You're not gonna make me wait out here until I freeze, are you?" Eddie's voice trickled in from outside, making you smile before quickly opening the window and letting him climb in. "It's fucking freezing out there. Hey, sweetheart." Your heart warmed at the nickname as he brushed past you, flopped down on your mattress, and picked up your abandoned book. His hair looked like he'd run his hand through it far too many times today; the snow still crunched as he crossed one boot over another as scattered icicles clung to his jacket's leather and denim patches.
"Well, it's no D&D book, but-." Eddie teased before you cut him off by snatching the book, placing it on your bedside table, and settling beside him. He smirked, clearly pleased with himself for getting to you so quickly.
"So what's new with you, Munson?" You said as you sank next to him, sneaking glances whenever he wasn't looking.
"Same shit, different day. I learned a new Metallica song last week, gonna play it at our gig."
"Yeah?"
"Yeah, I'll play it for you sometime." You smiled at that. "Oh shit, I was supposed to call Dustin." Eddie dramatically sat up on your bed and sighed.
"Dustin? Was it important?"
"Yeah, sort of; he's been trying to set me up with this girl. Or was it Steve setting me up? All I know is I went out with her last week, and now I gotta be at Family Video tomorrow at 6 to pick out a movie for whatever the fuck a double date movie night is." Your heart sank. Eddie was being set up; he was dating someone. And it wasn't you. Figures. He would never see you as more than a friend; all you ever did was hang out and talk about D&D; he could do that with any of his other friends. This shouldn't surprise you, but that didn't make it sting any less than it did.
"Hey, you okay?" Eddie noticed your silence amidst his rambling. You were seemingly lost in your thoughts as you toyed with your fingers. Something had shifted; your warm presence from just a minute ago felt frigid and distant.
"Yeah." You wiped the tears welling in your eyes and stood from the bed, suddenly needing to put as much distance between you as possible. "Just tired, I'm just gonna go to bed." The mere thought of Eddie snuggling up on a couch with some girl made your chest feel like it would cave in any second. You quickly turned toward your window to open it, unable to face him without fear of bursting into tears.
"Sweetheart, if I did something to piss you off, I'm sorry."
"You didn't just please…I want to go to bed." Your tone was firmer than Eddie had ever heard from you. He should go, head out through the window, and call it a night. But he couldn't. "Please." Your voice slightly cracked, and with it, a piece of Eddie's heart at the realization. When you managed to turn around, his chest was inches from your face, tenderness filling those big, brown, beautiful eyes darting back at you. His ring-clad hand cupped your cheek, skimming over your skin delicately like you would break under his touch.
Before you knew it, your mouth was on his. Your arms around his neck; he tasted like cigarettes and mint from the gum he anxiously chewed before you came in. It was intoxicating. Chills spread across your skin when his hands slid across your waist, pressing you closer to him. It didn't take long for Eddie's need for you to become apparent with feverish hands pushing you back until the desk bumped against your ass; Eddie tapped your thigh to signal you to sit on the hard surface, standing in between your legs and trailing his lips down to your neck and chest. Your hands tangled in his curls, breathing in as much of him as possible before he pulled away slightly.
"Eddie." You paused, studying his face for a moment; face flushed, hair tussled, and lips swollen and pink from your own; he was perfect. "I'm sorry. I should've told you how I felt, I-. Eddie's lips interrupted you with a searing but brief kiss as he spoke against your lips.
"Don't you dare apologize. I've been waiting so fucking long for this." A smile spread across your face, and relief flooded your chest. You tugged on his vest to draw him back to your lips as his hands began to knead your thighs, core clenching at the feeling. Whimpers escaped you from just his lips on your skin. His mouth worked its way along your neck, lifting your shirt and continuing to work his way down until he was kneeling before you.
"Can I?" You nodded as Eddie's ring-clad fingers hooked onto your shorts, pulling them off and discarding them on the floor along with your underwear. He hooked one leg over his shoulder and kissed the delicate skin of your inner thigh. "God, you have no idea how bad I've needed to taste you." Your breath hitched when you felt his tongue begin expertly working along your folds, then back toward your clit. It wasn't long before he slipped a finger inside you, then another. The chill of his rings pressing on your most sensitive spots as he plunged them in and out of you had you arching your back and squeezing your thighs tighter around Eddie. Your chest heaved; every whimper and moan that escaped was like music to his ears. Eddie consumed you like a man starved; it was like the more pleasure he drew from you, the more he wanted. He couldn't get enough. He teased your clit between his lips and began to suck hard. Eddie's movements were relentless. Your eyes screwed shut, and your core tightened until it snapped. Eddie's hand dug into the flesh of your hips to hold you in place as you squirmed against him until you were practically pushing him away. He could see the blissed look on your face as he stood and wrapped your legs around his waist, carrying you over to bed. Once you were settled, Eddie stepped toward the still-open window.
"Don't go," you whispered; a pang of fear hit you. Eddie smirked to himself before shutting the window securely, throwing his jacket on your nightstand, and crawling in beside you.
"Don't worry, sweetheart." He placed a kiss on your forehead. "I'm not going anywhere."

don't go (sharing your devotion) — one-shot
pairing: eddie munson x fem!reader
summary: eddie's jealousy was loud, just like everything else he did. or, eddie realizes he can't keep being the sole object of his best friend's attention forever and ends up screwing things up.
maybe it was about time.
word count: 2.1k
warnings: friends to lovers, jealousy (on eddie's side, he's not proud of it), light angst, unresolved sexual tension, a little bit of smut (+18), a hint of sub!eddie
author's note: was inspired to upload this to tumblr by @cursedyuta's stellar subby eddie content, and it made me remember i had this hidden. this was supposed to be two-part but i couldn't find the motivation to write any more, i'm sorry about the open ending! maybe it will gain a follow up one day, never say never <3
Eddie's jealousy was loud, just like everything else he did.
It stemmed from regret, pure and simple. Regret of not asking you out all the times you were alone with him, of not confessing his feelings, of not making you his when he had the chance. You weren't his, no matter how much he acted like you were.
As far as everyone was concerned, you were Eddie's girl. Being the only girl in The Hellfire Club — until Erica Sinclair's unexpected arrival, that was — and the only girl he was always seen with, it was easy to make that assumption, and neither of you really cared to clear those rumors. Something in his chest swelled with pride anytime someone called you his girlfriend and all you did was roll your eyes, but never tell them they were wrong.
Sometimes he wondered if you knew. You had to know, he wasn't exactly hiding.
His reputation did most of the work to keep guys away from you, but there were a few, brave ones who weren't really intimidated by Eddie "The Freak" Munson — alleged satanist, cult leader and whatever other false atrocity this town was willing to put on his shoulders. Those brave ones, the ones who asked you on dates and dared keep you from spending time with him, suffered with Eddie's relentless, petty teasing and practiced death stares.
Steve Harrington didn't seem easily intimidated by him in the slightest, though.
Eddie had all but scoffed when you told him you'd been going out with the former King of Hawkins High. It wasn’t until he saw the two of you together that reality started to sink in.
He didn't mean for things to get ugly, but the moment realized you were slipping through his fingers was an awakening he didn't think he could handle.
"What was all that about?"
Eddie shrugged, running a hand through his shaggy hair, a little humid from sweat. It was hot that night, even hotter inside the small downstairs bathroom you locked yourself with him in. Outside, the small party the drama club kids were throwing went on, voices and music being muffled by the closed door.
"I just wanted to know what Harrington was doing hanging out with low lives like us. Can't I be curious?" His voice was a bit slurred, no doubt from all the cheap beer he downed before and after Corroded Coffin's gig, fuming as he stared at you from across the room, all tangled with Steve, laughing at his jokes.
You leaned on the tiled wall, crossing your arms. He tried not to let his eyes wander lower, to the way your tits were pushed up in that halter top that left little to the imagination, but his was already running wild. "Do you hear yourself, Eddie? When you speak? Or did all that headbanging finally mess with your brain?"
"I think that would be the drugs, sweetheart."
It was a poor attempt to make you laugh, he knew. You knew it too, because your face remained impassive.
"You were curious, then. That's why you threw a fucking scene? Is that why you acted like an idiot and dragged me along with you, in front of all of those people?"
"Wouldn't be the first time." He mumbled, now unable to meet your eyes. Shame was something Eddie rarely felt, comfortable in his own skin most of the time, no matter what other people thought — but when it came to you, all he wanted to do was shield you from those same judgemental gazes, but instead, he put you right in the way of their scrutiny.
All because he couldn't stand the sight of you flirting with someone else.
"Goddamnit, Eddie! Can't you be serious for once in your life? This isn't the first time you do this shit but this time you went too far."
"I didn't like watching Harrington being all over you, okay? I didn't like knowing he's going to take advantage of you just like he does with all those other girls. Is that what you want to hear?"
He knew he was exaggerating, in fact, he knew nothing about Steve Harrington's intentions towards you, or any of the other girls he was seen around with, but none of that mattered to the ugly, jealous monster roaring in his insides.
Sighing, you close your eyes before looking right into his. "No, Eddie. That's not what I want to hear, but an apology would be nice."
The words "I'm Sorry" were stuck inside his throat, along with those three little words he struggled to say to you, as he watched you leave through the door and lose yourself amongst the crowd.
The day after your fight was spent in his trailer, nursing a bad hangover and a broken heart, both of which were his own fault, and the consequences of his reckless behavior. One of them hurt more than the other.
Eddie was sitting on the old brown couch on the trailer's porch as the sun went down on the horizon, smoking the uptenth cigarette of that cursed day when he saw Steve's burgundy BMW enter the trailer park from afar, and stop right in front of the Mayfield's trailer.
That wasn't unusual, since Steve was often checking up on the Mayfield girl, just as he did with Dustin, as far as Eddie knew. What was different this time was you on his passenger seat, looking as pretty as you did the night before. He stood up as he watched you talk, his heart clenching inside his chest when you exchanged a quick kiss before you both left the car, Steve going into the Mayfield's home and you made your way to the opposite side.
His side.
He could see it from afar, the pain in your eyes. There was rage too, lingering, somewhere in there. Your hips swayed with the determined movements of your feet, and he couldn't help but let his eyes linger on the mini skirt you were wearing — the black one, his favorite. Not that you knew it was, but every time you wore it, his mind raced with thoughts of what was hidden under that tiny piece of fabric, struggling with the soft flesh of your thick thighs.
For a moment, he thought about how might look like to you, standing shirtless on his porch, a long since extinct cigarette hanging from his fingers, wearing those same old black jeans. He wondered if you could see the dark circles under his eyes, or if his hair looked like the bird's nest it certainly felt like. Eddie felt sick, unworthy of your presence, unworthy of you. He kept wishing you would turn away, back to the golden boy who had apparently won your heart, but suddenly there you were, right in front of him.
"Will you let me in, please? We need to talk."
Not trusting his voice, he nodded, stopping out of the porch and towards the door, where you followed him to. Once you were inside, the silence between you was heavy, oppressive, until you were the one who broke it.
“You know, you can’t keep guys away from me forever.” There was a shy, almost teasing, smile behind your words.
“I have no idea what you’re talking about.”
He avoided your eyes, tracking back further into the house and in the direction of his room, knowing you would follow him. The angry stomp of your boots behind him was like music to his ears, it made his heart race into his ribcage unlike any heavy beat of bass drums.
At that moment, Eddie couldn't find anything more beautiful than you — standing in the yellow light of his room, eyes set on him, brows and lips set on a hard line, making him want to reach out and run his fingers through them to soothe your expression. You looked like an avenging angel, a goddess come to put him in his place.
There was no one else he'd rather be on his knees for.
“Yes, you do. You know exactly what I’m talking about, and the worst part is that you keep acting like nothing is happening, like… like you haven’t been doing this for years. Eddie, I’m…”, it weighed on his heart, the way you sighed deeply, stopping yourself mid-sentence, “I’m tired. I’m tired of dancing around whatever is going on here, so you’ll either spit it out and tell me what you want, or I’m gonna walk out of here and go home with Steve, because at least he’s not the one bullshitting me.”
It wasn’t often that Eddie Munson was left speechless.
Ever the wordsmith, he should have had the perfect excuse on the tip of his tongue, but instead, he has nothing. Eddie watched you with dark eyes, burning under your gaze, his mouth sewn shut. With one last look, a bullet through his already wrecked chest, you turned to leave.
"No, no, no!" Panicking as he felt you slipping through his fingers, Eddie finally reached out, running to stand between you and the door, voice rising in a whine, "Don't go with Harrington. Please, I'll do anything you want, just… stay, please?"
You hesitated a little before coming closer, neatly brushing his chest with yours, your perfume making him almost dizzy, making him close his eyes for a moment, taking you in.
"All I want is for you to tell me what you want." You insisted.
Placing his hands on his hips, the same hands that were itching to touch you, and looking up, chuckling with nervousness, he finally confessed, "I want you. Is that good enough for you, huh? Is that what you want to hear?" He caught himself repeating the same words as yesterday, only this time, he meant then. "In fact, you're all I've ever wanted. I want you so bad it's embarrassing, Y/N. It's fucking ruining me."
Eddie was met with silence, but at the same time he looked down to you, you raised your hands to rest them on his chest, spreading heat through the worn out Sabbath shirt he was wearing and into his skin. "Did it kill you to admit that?"
"No, but you are, baby."
"Consider it payback for all the years you wasted being an asshole and not realizing you could have had me this whole time."
Pushing him slightly, taking advantage of How distracted he was by your unexpected — or should they be expected? — words, you maneuvered the both of you until he felt his knees hit the edge of his bed.
"Can I still have you now?"
With a final push from your delicate hands, Eddie landed softly on the bed, lying on his back, his hair falling like a dark halo around his bed. He saw your expression soften as you climbed on top of him, straddling his hips. This time, he didn't restrain from touching you, letting his hands slide over the skin of your soft thighs, squeezing them lightly. He could feel the heat of your pussy from under the thin fabric of your panties, making him swallow back a moan. He wanted to grind against you, release a little of the tension rising in his jeans, but he kept still, waiting for your next move.
It felt like a dream, you on top of him, looking like every bit of a wet dream as well. Your hands grabbed his wrists and positioned them above his head as you lowered your face right above his flustered one.
"You see, the thing is… I don't think you deserve to have me right now, Eddie baby. You need to think about what you've done a little more, don't you think?"
A shiver ran down his spine with your words, making his body writhe under you, a wild fire spreading through him, ready to eat him alive — just like you looked like you were about to do.
"See, I'm gonna have to go and find a way to let Steve down gently, and then we're gonna talk, actually talk, about whatever this is," you motioned with your head at the two of you, "okay? No more running, no more hiding."
"No more running, no more hiding." He nodded frantically, repeating your words. Eager to get on your good side again.
"Good." You placed a sweet kiss to his forehead, a stark contrast to the torture you were putting him through. "Was that so hard?"
You had no idea.

domestic oscar isaac characters
headcanons really help writer's block.
Anselm
has found the secret to a happy marriage: keeping you well-fucked, well-funded and well-fed. that way you want for nothing unless it is dire.
He'll buy you gifts, typically with some innuendo, give you a healthy couple of orgasms, and have the cooks make you a delectable feast for dinner. If he had his way you'd just be in bed all day, being pleasured and dining on an exquisite menu.
Probably the first marriage ever consummated during the vows. Your wedding attire was too much, he couldn't handle it. He has you keep it for your anniversaries so you can recreate the scene.
Anselm talks about you relentlessly to his clients. By god the man won't shut up. He uses it as a measure of character; how politely will the guests speak about you and if they'll let him derail the meeting to talk lovingly about your latest accomplishment?
Very patient and loving. Seriously Gomez Addams coded. Sometimes he gets so overworked thinking about all the big things to show his love that he forgets the little things. You gently remind him that sometimes a night in is okay and that you don't have to do anything wild in the bedroom, as long as he's with you.
refuses to discuss a will and testament or any after-death things. Doesn't even want to think about it.
Nathan
already did this for him but idc.
likes existing together. Both of you have your hobbies, they don't necessarily have to involve both of you, but if you can do them together in the same space, that's enough for him.
lets you do your thing, but likes to keep tabs on your location. Not in a stalker way, but it helps his anxiety if you go somewhere without him. Sometimes he'll just text you a hello? and you'll respond with how you're feeling and how quickly you'll be home.
clingy.
also very tactile. if he fucks up programming or something, back rubs and a hug are good ways to calm him down.
Really good at remembering anniversaries and dates. He doesn't like big showy things though. Small, sentimental gifts or watching a movie on the couch.
Leto
ensures your relationship is as stable as stone. Communicates so well, always says what he's feeling, would not keep a secret even if he was at gunpoint.
everything he counsels runs by you first. every plan he makes, every decision, all will have your input. He makes you a wax seal and refuses to acknowledge anything if it isn't on the paper.
makes sure to have an hour with you alone every day. Could be sexy, could be a meal together, could be taking a walk around the grounds, but he needs that hour. If he's ever on a trip, he schedules a holo conference.
If the matter of children ever arises, I think he'd listen to you very carefully. He'd do everything the way you prefer, and be very attentive during the entire process. Leto would forbid a wet nurse or any kind of nanny, in order to keep you and the baby safe.
not opposed to holding the baby during a council meeting. what's anybody gonna say about it?
Poe
literally the most wholesome relationship ever.
makes you laugh, teases you, runs around like a teenager. some people say 'oh he'll never settle.'
but he can keep it serious too. He always checks in if you're feeling down or stressed. Will literally elope with you if you show any stress at all about the wedding. Even if it's just about cake flavors.
idk if any of you know Sheena Melwani and her husband TRID but I think he'd be a lot like TRID. go check them out on youtube it's so wholesome.
dances with you every night. He loves music, and will always pick a song from the planets he visits to show you when he returns. Your favorites are his home planet Yavin, Naboo and Coruscant.
gets matching tattoos with you of a little x wing and a planet. (you're the planet obviously, because he thinks of you as home)
I'll make a part two but this is who I fit in this one.

Just had the wild realisation that I can write whatever I want here. This is a thing that I am allowed to do. I can scream into the void. I don't have to tag my posts. Grammar is a social construct. It doesn't matter who's listening. The people I love and who love me will talk to me posts or no posts. Someone's going to read this and smile. Even if it's just me.
I can watch only the finales of shows to see their happy endings. I can eat cornflakes in the afternoon. I can go into bookstores just to creepily stare at the hardcovers of Victorian literature. I can write meticulous notes for subjects I'm not studying, and highlight it to Pinterest perfection. I can tell people I want to bite them out of sheer love. I can write long emails to my friends about weird slippers that remind me of them.
I can tell you that it's been a hot year, the hottest one to date, and that April hasn't seen a single drop of rain fall onto the earth. But it's hanging in the air, making it heavy with moisture and that relentless, relentless heat. It's muggy and the swamp theme I chose for my bullet journal couldn't be more appropriate. I can tell you how I keep singing that song in my head, Corner Of My Sky, the one whose music video has Michael Sheen wrangling with an occult toaster. "The rain, the rain, the rain, thank god the rain."
I can tell you anything I like. I can tell you that I'm afraid of being forgotten, that I've always longed to be famous, that I have a hard time not caring about every single little thing. I can tell you that I'm ace and I'm afraid that no one will ever love me the way I need them too, even if I love them the way that they need me to. I can tell you the nightmares have gotten better, but they're still there, they don't seem to want to leave me. I can tell you that I'm so much more ill and broken than I dare think about. Because I am afraid that if I start thinking about it, I shan't stop, and then it will become everything. And I don't want it to be everything. I can tell you that. I can tell you that I have beautiful memories, too, not just the fear and the loss and the anger.
I can tell you that I'm a performer, an entertainer, and I love making people laugh. I'm more comfortable on stage, where people are already listening, than trying to go up and make conversation to groups of strangers. I can tell you how wonderful it feels to have been able to speak to so many people all around the world, to have them know me, to listen to me, and to listen to them in turn. I can tell you that I don't know where to draw the line sometimes, I'm never entirely sure when I'm joking, and the act easily becomes a second skin. I can tell you all of that.
I can tell you all the things that I used to tell myself in letters sealed in envelopes addressed to Future Me. And it won't matter, and it does matter, and it's all so fucking absurd. It doesn't make any sense at all. Does it? I don't know. I can tell you that I don't know very much at all. Knock knock. Who's there? No one. No one who? No one who matters. Knock knock. I haven't been able to walk around for a month. This room is an oven and I'm being slow-cooked, broiled into a little Asmi pie. I read fanfiction yesterday after a long while. That was nice. I think it's really cool that you all know me. You do know me. Sometimes better than I know myself. I can tell you that.
I can tell you the truth. I can tell you I love you. And that to be seen and to be known is a gift that I will always be grateful for. I can tell you that you don't have to listen. But if you do, then hi! Nothing makes sense. Let's sit in the nonsense for a while. I have biscuits. Would you like one? I'm very human. It's one of the things that gets me so easily hurt. Maybe it happens to you too. I can tell you that my plant Crowley is surviving, unlike the others did. I can tell you that maybe you and I are, too.
It's 8:02 in the morning. I might just eat breakfast now. It does seem like the thing to do. How weird and wonderful that is.

Day 9 - Fake Dating
Fandom: Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
Character(s): Link
Type of Request: 31 Days of Oc-Trope-R
Note(s): The requester wanted Reader helping Link fend off his suitors and I love this idea so much. Also, I make Link talk a tiny bit in this (like only a few words at a time) Also Also I felt so bad for Paya while writing this ngl (sorry Paya!!)
You blamed it on how nice he is to everyone. Oh, you need ten apples? He's doing it. One hundred crickets to impress a girl? Done. It's insane what he'll do (you're still annoyed that you watched him cut grass for hours to get the crickets to only actually give the guy ten).
But then he was going to Karkariko Village next. He seemed nervous as you two traveled on the new horse he tackled and won over. Usually, he liked using his Sheika sleight, but you both quickly found out that you are not transported with him, and he had to hurry to get back to you before the Guardian shot you. It was not a fun time.
"What's wrong, Link?" You ask as your arms are wrapped around his waist while he directed the horse. He's quiet for a bit as he ponders the question. Or maybe he heard you and was choosing to be quiet like he sometimes does. A sigh is heard from him as he looks over his shoulder. You did not realize how closely you were holding him and tried to put some space between you.
"Be my girlfriend," he says. No lead in, no 'hey I have a favor', just a flat-out proposal and your jaw dropped. Link quickly realized his mistake and pink crossed his cheeks as he shook his head. "Pretend! Pretend to be my girlfriend!"
You had a million questions and were starting to ask before Link filled you in. Apparently almost every girl and woman (some men too) in Karkariko village has a crush on Link. Well, maybe not Impa, but that's still a large number. And Link does not know how many excuses he can give so he wants you to pretend to be his girlfriend just to keep them off of him.
And you agreed.
You don't know what came across your mind to agree, but you did. You and Link talked about things like how you started dating or other couple questions that might be asked. It was a bit weird, but ended up being fun? Mostly because he's a dork and you teased him quite a bit when he talked about how he didn't realize a lizalfo tail couldn't be used as food for some reason and a fairy had to save him after eating the dubious food.
When you make it to the village, you don't quite understand what Link needed help fending off. The people seemed nice, some kids wanted to play tag (and you found it adorable how Link did so), and there was a shrine that Link stole the apples from. It wasn't until you and Link went into a shop that you realized.
"Why hello, Link, here to fill up your quiver?" She practically purrs and your jaw drops at how much confidence she has while Link pushes you forward.
"Um, actually, we would like some arrows please," you say, and she glances to you in disappointment at you being between her and Link, who she still tries to eye as a piece of meat.
"And you are?" She asks, her tone a bit bored, but you can tell she tries her best to be nice to a new customer. Even if you're a bit annoyed with how she's treating you.
"His partner," you tell her, and she pauses as Link breathes a sigh of relief. She glances between the two of you and, without thinking, Link holds your hand.
Sure, he's held hands with you before. Mostly so you didn't fall off a cliff or when the wind was really bad. But this context felt different. Well, you're fake dating so it really shouldn't be that weird, but the issue is that you liked it.
You hear her mutter something about "typical men breaking a woman's heart" but you ignore it as Link buys up about every arrow in the store. You thank her as he drags you outside and sighs.
"'Fill up your quiver'." You are so quick to tease him, and his face goes a dark red as he puts his hands over his face to hide. You're interrupted from your next teasing as you hear a gasp and you glance over and see a, well, a very pretty girl.
"Hello Paya," Link greets politely to the girl while continuing to hide his face and her face gets redder than his is. And you realize that she likes him too. It's difficult not to realize it as Link gives you a look for help and you smile gently at the girl, Paya.
"Hi," you say, and she looks to you in confusion as her eyes glance between you and Link and how close you stand together. And you watch as her heart seems to shatter, but she keeps giving a smile. Your own heart aches with her reaction.
"Hello, I'm Paya. It was nice seeing you again, Link." It was sweet how she greeted you if only tears weren't forming in her eyes as she quickly walked off and Link sighed, muttering that he'll have to talk to her later.
You keep walking through the village with Link, continuing to be his fake girlfriend but the smile on your face felt faker. Your mind kept going back to the shattered look on Paya's face and you imagined yourself in her shoes. Link is your friend; one you've traveled with for so long. How would you react if he suddenly showed up with someone he looked really close to? You didn't like those thoughts.
Eventually you and him walk out of the village, going to where the fairy shrine is so he can catch some just in case. And you see the shining lights surrounding him and how handsome his face looks as he glances in the pool of the fountain. And you realize your "just friends" thoughts are full of crap.
You're silent as you two walk away from the fountain, following the path to a little overlook. Link sighs in relief as he sits on the ground, taking a break from the excitement while you stay standing and overthinking.
"What's wrong?" Link asks and you hate how perceptive he is. Or at least, when it comes to you, he seems overly preceptive. You force a smile and sit next to him.
"I was thinking of Paya, she looked heartbroken," you tell him and Link sighs at that.
"I know." Is his reply and you can hear the heaviness in his tone, as if he also feels guilt, but he doesn't say anything afterwards. Nothing about telling the truth or even hoping she'll be okay. You know earlier he said he'd talk to her, but you don't know what that entails. The only thing you're thinking of right now is, you don't want to end up like her, the poor girl.
"It'd be unfair if she learned that we are lying about dating," you say and Link glances over at you, giving a slow nod. "So, we should actually date." His eyes look like they'll pop out of his head.
"What?!" You wince at his reaction and are about to apologize and start to think 'maybe I will end up like Paya' but then you see the massive blush on his face again.
"Well, we've traveled together for so long and-"
"Let's date." He cuts you off from the long speech you're about to give to explain your feelings. You're a bit annoyed by how quickly he recovered, but that goes away as you sigh and lean against him, something you did as friends but now it feels different, but a good different.

Parallels are funny
I was never into anime when we were friends. I just wasn't a fan, until recently. I was watching a few different animes based on another friend's recommendations. Jujutsu Kaisen is the one I am referring to as I write this. I never thought about why Satoru Gojo's and Suguru Geto's relationship really affected me until I saw this piece of art.
Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto fit us so well.
The love, the intensity, the ending. One who would do anything for the other if they asked. One who kept the other in check while allowing them to feel truly free. One who was shining too bright to notice the darkness consuming the other. The one who had endless possibilities, and the one who wanted the impossible.
From freshman year to the middle of our junior year of college, we were inseparable.
Constant rides and study sessions. Doing homework, and practicing our pass-off music together. Those first few classes in our major were hard, but don't worry, I was there to always lend a hand when you needed it. Classes just kept getting harder. We both started to get busy and overwhelmed. I know you started to feel depressed when I was advancing in classes, and you were struggling with the same ones. I was there to support you as much as I could, but I had to keep going. I just didn't realize that I was leaving you behind. I thought you just needed more time, but you were focused on other things.
We were a duo- connected at the hip. Always together, never too far apart.
The friendship was innocent. Sharing laughs and having late night conversations. Small, drunk kisses that didn't mean anything, right? Cuddling and sharing blankets. Matching outfits and saying I love you. We talked about getting matching tattoos. I swore you were my soulmate. We shared so many late night drives. Remember when we went to the beach at midnight and didn't get back home until 4am? Yeah, I replay the video sometimes just to hear your voice.
Everyone thought we were dating.
That was so funny, right? Of course as best friends we shared locations, had specific nights just for us to get dinner, had sleepovers every weekend, and joked about why we haven't slept together, yet. Of course, as best friends we would push the limits of what other friends do. Of course, I noticed you were struggling, I tried my best to help you. It wasn't always what you needed, but I tried. -Did you notice my struggle? No? That's okay. I hid it pretty well.- Of course, I got upset when you started to use guys to make other guys jealous. I didn't want to see you play with people's emotions like that, but I also didn't know how to stop you. You couldn't see how it affected you. You didn't see the changes it made.
Some words were said- words I wish I could take back, but it's too late for that.
We didn't speak for quite some time after that. I left my final 'I love you' on your doorstep- a scrapbook of us. The times we did speak were brief and out of pure necessity. Until, one day you volunteered a comment on my performance. I was frozen. You didn't need to compliment me- I didn't need it, rather. This was a critique, but you offered me love, instead.
That was your final 'I love you.'
I know that many other people have experienced a friendship like SatoSugu, but I think we truly encapsulated it, unfortunately. From the intense friendship with wild adventures, to blurring the lines between friend and lover, to losing each other, and to, finally, saying our final 'I love yous' to each other in our own ways.
Just like Satoru Gojo's happiness around Suguru Geto, my happiness was so loud when I was with you that I could not hear your silence. I’m sorry Satoru- Suguru didn’t stay in this universe either. Maybe the next one. In this universe, I spent 3 years loving you, and, now, I will spend the rest of forever missing you. There is no curse more twisted than love.
You're not dead, but I will never see you again. Even if I did, you wouldn’t be the same. You are my best friend, and I was yours.

you can make a fic for yandere klaus mikaelson, where he finds his match in mystic falls, and when he breaks his hybrid curse, he begins to hear a voice that turns out to be his wolf who has been asleep for all these centuries, and now that he is awake he wants his soul mate, much more so than klaus because klaus wanted to take it easy with her and woo her properly, but when his wolf started talking to him he was much more possessive and convinces him to just take her, eliminate her rivals and keep her protected at all costs and basically the wolf side of klaus is a yandere and klaus just does what he's told, and in the case of y/n since she was only human her feelings for klaus weren't that big, and when klaus The kidnapper was very upset, but she also did not have the courage to reject her soul mate, so she ends up giving in to Klaus, and is given the task of taming her wolf.
I’ll Try
Klaus’ wolf was estatic to finally have some control, to be let out of his cage and be free.
Three full days he had full control over Klaus’ body, running wild and tearing people apart as he'd always wanted to.
But then Klaus put him back away, and he barely put any effort in to please his wolf.
A thousand years they had both waited ro unlock this side of him and yet the only time his wolf was allowed out was to inject venom and cure it? It wasn't fair.
So then when Klaus layed eyes upon her, he couldn't even try to stop his wolf before it was forcing him towards her
She's ours, our soulmate, she needs us
Klaus was going mad, he was sure of it. Psychotic is one thing, voices are another
His feet took him straight to her. She was gorgeous, perfectally innocent and dainty. The wolf was already trying to latch onto her. Klaus endednup walking right into her knocking her backwards and shootimg his arms out to catch her as she let out a yelp from impact.
He expected her to yell or be salty, he had quite literally ran into her, rather roughly at that, but instead she immediately went into apologies
“I'm so sorry, I wasn't looking where i was going-“ she began
“No no, it was my fault, i was in rush, forgive me“ he muttered, almosg awestruck as he saw her up close. Each tiny detail of her face came together flawlessly and he itched to trace her features.
We need to take her with us, just grab her, she needs to be indoors and safe now
Klaus quickly pushed the words away and unwrapped his arms from her, setting her back down on her feet and taking a small step back.
“so where are you going in such a rush?“ she asked and he blinked in confusion
“what?“
“you said you were in a rush? Do you need to be somewhere? I can drive you?“ she offered
Say yes.
“I'm heading home actually and it's probably out of your way, but thank you“ he managed to get the words out while he mind was clouded with images of her. Holding her, touching her, marrying her, fucking her, having children with her, if was overwhelming and he wasn't sure what to do.
“okay, welk i hope you get there safely“ she told him before walking off
You let her go, it's fine, just fine, we'll get her next time the wolf convinced but Niklaus was only focused on her.
Over the next few days Klaus become further acquainted with his wolf. His wolf was persistent in getting their mate, saying they needed her and that there were too many dangers for her out in the world.
Klaus argued they leave her be and not ruin her by dragging her into the supernatural world, to take things slow and gently introduce her.
They compromised and decided that Klaus would court her and if she didn't take to him then he had to let his wolf out to play.
And so Klaus began planning
He tried his best to woo her, they went on several dates and he always brought her flowers and other little gifts to make her smile but then he noticed that other men were still trying to get with her, asking her out and also giving her roses. Thankfully he had asked her ro be exclusive and she agreed but it didn't stop his wolf from going mental
What aren't you seeing? Can't you see how they look at her? You need to take her before someone else does. There's only so many times you can risk this
It didn't help when his wolf planted dreams and images of their beloved with another man, with their own family and she moaned a name that wasn't his.
It was when Klaus had to save her from a disgrace of human being, they had pulled her to an alleyway attempting to do god knows what, Klaus managed fo get to her in time, throwing the man off and keeping her close as she sobbed into his chest. That night while she was tucked up in his bed, his wolf rose to the surface, tearing the person who dare lay a finger on her to pieces.
We can't have this happen again, it isn't safe in this world, she needs to be hidden, taken care of and tended to
And this time Klaus couldn't argue and son instead of waking up in Klaus’ bed where she fell asleep, she woke in what looked like a cell. Her breathing became shallow as she began ro panic, fear written across her face as she screamed for someone to let her out
“my love...please, you must calm down, this is temporary until i can get your room decorated and secure.“ klaus attemoted to calm her but she scrambled away from him in tears.
Eventually she fell asleep in Klaus’ arms after he held her until she grew roo exhausted to kick and scream at him. His wolf grew impatient with her unwillingness
Just tell her we're soulmates, she cannot reject us, it would harm her more than anyone else
After a few days Klaus had her in a nicer room, soft calming colours decorating it, a large comfy bed, bookshelves and a drawing area. There were flowers in vases on the window sills. The windows were blurred and no matter how hard she bashed against them, they would never open or break.
And once she was some what settled he began to explain their...bond...and what it meant witjin the supernatural community. He told her of his wolf and how much he cared for her, loved her even.
She wasn't sure how she was supposed to respond, she didn't feel bond anywhere near as much as he did and was frightened of his wolf.
And when she asked him to prove what he was, she certainly wasn't expecting to watch in horror as each of his bones snapped out of place to form a wolf three times the size of any wolf she had ever seen.
She stayed entirely still as he brushed up against her all over, licking all up her neck making her heart rapidly smack against her ribs in fear. The wolf didn’t care for her fear, he was just happy to have her and to be in control.
He rubbed his scent all over her, pushing his snout everywhere he could and she did not once protest, her body shaking as she held her breath. The wolf pulled her to the bed by her sleeve and curled up around her, waiting patiently for her to fall asleep so that he could hold her lovingly without her shaking and sniffling.
When she woke Klaus was back in his human form, he had gotten changed to not frighten her. He held her gently as she cried to him
“I’m sorry sweetheart, it’s going to be okay” he whispered convincing both her and himself
“I just don’t understand” she whimpered
“I know, but it’s going to get better, you just need to try, please love, just try” he pleaded and she nodded
“I’ll try”
And at that moment both Klaus and his wolf knew, she was to never leave him or his hold.

Finding their Mate
A/N: There's a few characters I wasn't expecting to write for but it's hilarious and I couldn't think of any other villains with a heart other than the icons (Kai, Katherine, and Enzo). There were a few I debated on adding and then decided not to. I feel like there might be slight yandere vibes in here but I'm also like ... *crickets chirping*
If anyone wants a villain they like and want it written, be sure to send in a request and I'll see what magic I can work
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Enzo
He always thought Maggie was his girl, never gave any other woman a thought (before and after his time being locked up at Whitemore). Then he found Damon and the rag tag crew who are always in trouble, which is when he met you (after trying to kill Damon, of course). And after coming back from supernatural purgatory one time too many times, he stopped acting like a jackass and decided it was time to live his life. He felt something in his undead beating heart for the first time and had no idea what to do. Finding out you two are mates was even better than he could have thought, more so after you sacrificed yourself to stay with him during that fire to show him that you weren't going to leave him, whether he had his humanity on or not, really sold him
Kai
With him having no emotions, merging with his younger brother, and then getting them was terrifying but he'd never admit that out loud. Being told that the reason his heart beats faster around you are because of the feelings for you and is fated to you, he nearly pissed his pants. Then he approaches the Salvatore's for dating advice, and they nearly die because Kai is asking the two guys who have been nothing but mean and are actively trying to keep you two apart for help (the way his mind works is fascinating). When they couldn't offer too much help and nothing was working, he decided it was time to talk to you, confusing you when he had no real motive behind it. It worked though, you two would not be where you are without him chickening out/ manning up
Katherine
With her being on the run for most of her life, she never planned on tying herself down somewhere, more specifically to anyone. Honestly, after her family took away her little girl, she didn't want to be tied down; she was afraid they'd be taken from her. But then you fell into her life, literally. She was almost taken to Klaus (for the billionth time and you fell in front of her). If she were to find herself truly in love, and not what she feels she had with Stefan, a clumsy person like yourself does not make it onto her roster but you've changed her life for the better. Even when she runs back to Mystic Falls to terrorize everyone, she makes sure your safety is her top priority first and foremost
Silas
He always thought Amara was his special someone but then his ex got in the way and messed all that up (big rip for him). Anyway, when he decided to play the role of Saint Stefan, he found himself fascinated by you. The littlest things you did drove him wild, and it took him a while before he realized why he felt this way. He was always told to believe that mates didn't exist, but people still liked to pretend as if they did. You proved him and everyone from his youth wrong because here you two are. Don't forget that he will try and kidnap you to ensure you don't get hurt when everyone tries to gang up on him and to make sure he can "help" you because you are his most favorite thing person
Qetsiyah
She always thought her true love was Silas and always would be, but then he decided she wasn't enough and only used her. The bitterness in her heart grew after that and ruined her thoughts on romance and love. Then she kidnaps Stefan and fries his brain while also finding you amongst his friend group. She knew she had to meet you. Her being in the same places as you, not a coincidence. She slowly found her way into your life and started off as a friend. Then she figured out why she was so invested in your life and slowly backed away until you decided to do something about it. There's no way in hell you're losing someone else in your life especially when you know she means more to you than any of your friends could ever know
The heretics
This was an interesting development for everyone, not just you. But in this case, you could choose whether you wanted a romantic relationship or more of a friendship with the group. Lily and Julain weren't so much involved in the fated bonds thing which annoyed the man from time to time. The Salvatore's mother was just happy her family found someone special (reminding her of her Julian). This whole bond made things harder at times, but they were all happy to have someone else to care for and you’re the one who stopped any arguments from happening and/ or things from getting worse. None of your friends were happy to hear about you deciding to leave with them but if it meant you could save their lives, you're going to take the chance whether they like it or not

ajax | childe | tartaglia
no, not at all. should they?
he was a seasoned warrior. he was the first one whose body was covered in battle remains, and he was so goddamn proud of each one of them. and he thought you should be too.
so when he learnt you didn't like them, and even try to hide them as much as possible, he was taken aback. why would you cover the memories of what you fought and won against to? that was nonsense!... for him, at least.
when you explained to him that you got them because of a childhood accident and that, since then, people have been looking at you with pity, making you take a huge dislike to them, he felt shocked.
anger started bubbling up in his blood. he wished to inflict to the people who caused your accident the same kind of pain they made you experience, but ten times worse. he only stopped his thoughts because you told him so.
somehow the topic moved onto dating and, upon hearing people refrained from going with you because your scars, according to them, "ruin your overall pretty face", he was at it all over again.
how did they dare to say you couldn't be dated because of your scars?! you were the freaking cutest person liyue harbor could have given birth to! for bloody abyss' sake!
and he told you that, he told you how damn cute and beautiful you were, and that in his eyes your scars were bonus points, because warriors have scars, and warriors are prideful! and you should keep up to this!
to further prove his point, he kissed that big scar you could never manage to properly hide. his rough and bitten lips felt surprisingly soft against your sensitive skin, your cheeks warming up at the gentle touch.
«never let those idiots have the better of your thoughts ever again, you got me? you're stunning even like this- no, even more, because you managed to live past it. you're pretty, always remember that, okay?»
baizhu
of course not, how could they?
however, he could understand why you were so prone to think otherwise. like him with his chronic sickness, you didn't want people to know about such an unsavoury (according to you) feature you had.
but unlike him, you couldn't hide it from other people, not at all at least. it pained you, and he could see that. your eyes turning down whenever they witnessed a pitiful look from someone were enough to understand how you felt.
if he could, he would give you an ointment to put over them, but the cuts that left you those scars have long healed, since you got them at an early age.
he would ask you how you got such scars, and upon hearing it was because of a wild animal attacking you, he felt displeased. how could your guardian let that happen? where were they at that time?
it reminded him of qiqi's accident that had her get her vision but also turn into a zombie — an absent guardian that couldn't do the only thing they were tasked to, their negligence causing pain to the small being that was entrusted into their care.
you would dismiss that, telling him you didn't resent your guardian because it was your fault for running away to explore, not caring about the wild surroundings, but he would disagree.
a small argument would follow, but it would die down as quickly as it started. he was only concerned about you, and you understood that. if all, it made your heart flutter for how caring he was toward you.
«i really can't stand the circumstances of how that happened, but unfortunately i can't go back in time and stop it from happening. but know that, even if you have scars, they don't conceal your beauty. and remember, beauty isn't only about looks, it is especially about one's soul. and yours is indeed magnificent.»
gorou
they could never.
but he could understand you. being a general meant having a lot of scars, so he knew the feeling of having eyes on you because of them.
except that, much like childe, he was proud of them. they were a reminder of how fiercely he fought for the freedom from the vision hunt decree, they showed how he was in the front line for his people and the entirety of inazuma.
and you knew that, because you took part in the war right by his side, together with aether and kazuha and your soldier companions.
it was right during a battle on nazuchi beach that you got your scars. you fell under the attack of a shogunate soldier and, hadn't it been for beidou and her claymore, you wouldn't have escaped it alive.
he thought that your scars were a proof of the courage you showed in battle, fiercely fighting because you believed in the principle of freedom and it was nonsense depriving people of theirs because of "eternity".
but now that the war was over and you were back to being a simple civilian, it was hard to not focus on your scarred body and face. before you were too busy in assuring your companions were safe, but now too much free time was sitting in your hands.
people's eyes were constantly on your face, witnessing the horrors of the war, pity in their looks as you passed by. and you hated that, hated it so so much that you ran away and found refuge on an isolated beach of watatsumi, under the moonlight.
he found you there, curled in a ball, one hand playing with the white sand as your face was hidden in your knees. you heard him but, even before you could try, he stopped you from running away again, his eyes poking holes into yours as he spoke, his hands holding yours.
«i know it's hard to stand people's gaze, i can feel it as well. but remember this: you fought in a war, you couldn't possibly get out of it untouched. your presence saved many soldiers and helped us win, because it was a group effort. if people can't go past your scars, ignore them, they didn't live what we did. i'm proud of how well you did, and you should be proud of yourself too.»
kaeya
tsk. you had some guts to think such nonsense.
as a knight, you were no stranger to fights and battles. it was part of your duty in protecting the land of the anemo archon, and you never regretted the pain, because you felt the loving embrace of lord barbatos' gentle winds reassuring you.
and it was that same embrace that you felt after a battle against some hilichurls during your patrolling route, amber by your side. you easily slashed the monsters off, and you thought it was over, a chilly breeze messing with your hair, helping you relax. and that was your mistake.
a huge mitachurl with an axe came from behind and attacked you. you, unprepared, were caught by surprise and took over by the monster, who managed to tower over you with his flaming axe. hadn't it been for amber, you wouldn't have gotten only scars.
after that episode jean forced you to take a break for a while, to relax and enjoy the peace of mondstadt. but on the first day, as soon as you stepped out and were among people, you wished you could run in the outskirts and never come back.
all the citizens' eyes were on your scarred face, still fresh and tinted in a strong hue of pink because of the blood rushing through. and it was enough to push you back inside your home and make you decide you won't go outside till you could go back to your knightly duties.
it was easy, then, to notice your absence in the hustle and bustle of the city life, kaeya noticed. he would go ask around about you, but with no success. so he would think to go directly to you and see for himself what pushed you to be a reclusive when you were normally always eager to be outside and enjoy the everlasting good weather in mondstadt.
seeing kaeya on your door was the last thing you were expecting, but he was still your captain and you couldn't possibly refuse his request to see you. so you let him inside, head low, hair covering your face. and of course he noticed, as he always did.
he went straight to the point, asking what has been wrong with you as of lately. at first you would try to drive the conversation in another direction to not answer and let him know about your thoughts, but kaeya was too smart for that, and you both knew it.
you gave up after just a few tries, and so you blurted out everything that happened, your thoughts and your insecurities. he listened to you carefully, silence filling the room... till he flicked your forehead — you were so stupid, really.
he took your hands in his, tongue clicking his cheek before he started talking.
«the almighty y/n down the weather because of a few scars? i was expecting much worse- and no, don't give me that look, you know deep down i'm right. have i taught you nothing about being charming even when you have strange quirks? i have an eyepatch, you have your scars, so what? people can't deny that your beauty is still there, it just got a new feature. not a big deal. so stop being dramatic, you're still as fine as a glass of death after noon.»
kaveh
those little scars aren't enough to hide your beauty from his prying eyes.
he was an art connoisseur, meaning any piece of art he landed his eyes on he could recognise its value. and you were the most precious one he has seen in his whole life.
that being said, he truly couldn't understand why you couldn't see yourself the same way he saw you. have your perception of yourself changed that much because of a few scars?
you were a matra working together with cyno and other higher-ups, being one yourself. so it's useless to say you were always on the front line, fighting side by side with the general mahamatra during certain missions or operations.
it was during an expedition in the desert that you and your group fell in an ambush, a fight soon breaking out. a fatui soldier smacked you down and his bullets reached your face, cutting all over and leaving bleeding wounds that scarred.
back to sumeru city after a period of rest cyno forced you to take, people started looking at you as if you were some sort of alien. and it pained you so much you no longer were able to hold your head up; your heart was full of hatred for your reflection, resentment for the fatui, anger for your incompetence in preventing such accident.
but all those thoughts would disappear as soon as kaveh got to know them, your rambling bursting out after you reached your limit. you weren't one to cry easily, so seeing your eyes red with tears had him realise how much it affected you.
he took you away to let you cry in peace, and waited for you to calm down before his words came out so you could listen to them clearly.

hi! i really liked (Solomon's Kindness) *^^*
can you do for solomon x reader's first date going to aquarium with mc who loves whales/dolphins fluffy fic ?
thanks! keep going with your writings ^v^~
Hi, anon!
Thank you for the request, I'm so glad you're enjoying my writing!
I really liked writing this! Hopefully Solomon isn't too OOC here, it ended up really fluffy. I couldn't help myself! Anyway, I hope you like it!
Solomon x GN!MC
Warnings: None!
You didn't exactly keep your love of whales and dolphins secret, but it also wasn't something you talked about a lot. Which meant that someone would need to know you pretty well to notice this preference of yours without you telling them. A notebook with a whale on the cover, a little dolphin key chain attached to your bag - the signs were certainly there, but they were small. Only someone observant would notice it.
This is why it came as a surprise when Solomon asked you to go on a date with him to the aquarium. He stated specifically that there was one in the human world featuring dolphins that he wanted to take you to.
"How did you know I like dolphins?" you had asked him.
Solomon smiled and tugged gently on the dolphin key chain on your bag. "Did you think I didn't notice?"
You realized in that moment that he had been paying attention to you. Enough to know that you would enjoy such an excursion.
Now you were standing beside him in a large, beautiful aquarium. You had come at a time that wasn't busy. There were only a few people milling about here and there, so it felt like you had the entire aquarium to yourselves.
The first area you found yourselves in was set up like a dark cavern. The lights were practically non-existent and the walls were grayish blue. Every few feet, however, there would be a circle of bright colorful light. Round tanks that held swarms of jellyfish dotted the area.
Solomon waved a hand and it was as though the jellyfish swam right out of their tanks, swirling around you in rainbow colors. You knew it was a magical illusion, but you were amazed as always at Solomon's skill.
You laughed in delight. "They're so cute!"
Solomon's eyes were soft as he smiled. "So are you."
You felt the hint of a blush rise to your cheeks, but the room was dark and you hoped he couldn't see it.
You emerged from the darkness and found yourselves in a large area full of tanks. You moved from tank to tank, reading the information about the inhabitants. As it turned out, Solomon knew quite a lot about fish and marine habitats. He would start talking about them at length, almost lecturing you about the habits of various fish and marine plants. Then he would catch himself and apologize for talking so much.
It was actually really adorable, so you started deliberately asking him questions about things to see if you could get him talking again. It worked the first few times you did it, but then he caught onto you.
Eventually you found yourselves in a room where the entirety of one wall was a massive tank. Here you could see dolphins swimming through the bright blue water. You stood in front of the tank together, watching them play.
"This aquarium specializes in dolphin rehabilitation," Solomon said. "That's why I wanted to bring you here. These dolphins were found injured or sick. They were brought here so they could recover. Once they're well again, they'll be released back out into the wild."
"That's amazing," you said, moving closer to the tank glass. "They're beautiful. I'm so glad someone is taking care of them."
Solomon took your hand. "There's more, come on."
He pulled you into the next section, which was like a tunnel with a tank on both sides as well as overhead. Swimming by and around were all kinds of creatures - sharks, large fish, stingrays, and sea turtles. Light shone through the water, creating ripple effects on the floor and walls.
You were entranced by the beauty of this area, taking your time passing through the tunnel into another large room. On one side was a continuation of the tank from the tunnel. Across from there you saw the other side of the dolphin tank.
Standing in the middle of this room, surrounded by the light and water on all sides, you tried to take it all in.
"It's like I'm standing in the middle of the ocean," you said, your voice quiet with awe.
Solomon still held your hand and he squeezed it. "I thought you would like it."
You turned to him, smiling happily. "I love it, Solomon. Thank you for bringing me here."
Solomon's eyes widened a bit. He turned to you, reaching up with the hand that wasn't holding yours and placing it gently on your cheek. "I would do anything to see that expression on your face, MC."
You blushed, not just at his words, but at his close proximity. You were struck by the way the light from the tanks sparkled in his eyes and hair. He looked like he was alight with magic, glimmering with feeling.
You felt yourself move closer to him, as though something tugged gently on your heart. You took one step forward and there was no more space between you.
Solomon put his other hand on the other side of your face, cradling your cheeks as he pressed a kiss to your lips. Your hands came up to rest on his chest as you leaned into him.
This moment passed by so quickly, but it was one you would hold in your heart forever.
When you returned to the House of Lamentation, all the demons brothers had questions about where you were. But you decided to keep your first date with Solomon all to yourself.
Nobody else seemed to notice the new dolphin key chain attached to your bag. But sometimes Solomon would tug gently on it and smile at you, not saying a word. And you would blush and smile back as you both remembered the kiss you shared among the dolphins.

Out of the Woods - ch 10
a/n: i can't thank yall enough for the love and support, i know rewrites/oc fics aren't everyone's cup of tea so i just really appreciate it - and i promise the next chapter is gonna be a good one c;
prev ☆ next
In the morning, JJ was acting like our conversation never happened, and although it took me by surprise, I kept up the act too. It was easier, and I had gotten rather good at pretending, but pretending that nothing was wrong couldn't take away the ache in my heart every time I looked into his eyes.
After we ate breakfast together, we all went out on the boat to get Kie and Sarah, who seemed to no longer be at each other’s throats, which was a victory.
We all loaded into the Twinkie and took off for the Crain house. John B was the first out of the van, but as we were loading up to head out, he stopped us to let us know how much he appreciated us being here, doing this with him.
“Always,” Kie promised. “Of course, man,” Pope agreed. “We’ll always follow you on wild adventures. That’s what friends are for,” I added, looking over to JJ. We still hadn’t talked about the way we left things, and my anxiety grew with the more time that passed. “Alright, we done with the circle jerk? Can we go do this?” JJ asked.
We all climbed out of the car, Sarah was the first over the wall, then Kie and I followed, the boys behind us, but then a motion sensor light came on, and we all ran to hide.
“Okay… so she has motion sensor lights,” Pope said. “Maybe we can just move really slowly?” JJ offered and Pope shook his head. ‘That’s not how it works.”
Sarah said she knew where the circuit breaker was, and offered to go shut it off. “You’re not going alone,” John B said. “Watch me,” Sarah challenged. “Crain chops people into pieces.” JJ pointed out, but Sarah countered with how old Mrs. Crain had to be by now.
“I’ll go with her,” I spoke up, and everyone was silent, staring at me unsure. “What? If she’s joining this group, we need to bond and there’s no better way to bond than almost dying together. C’mon,” I whispered, before pulling up my bandana to cover my face.
Sarah led the way with the flashlight, we both kept low to the ground as we maneuvered through the greenery to the porch. But when we opened the breaker box, there were just wires, wires that lead inside.
“Fuck…” I whispered, before seeing the door. I very slowly turned the knob to find it was unlocked, and carefully opened the door. Me and Sarah carefully walked through the house, she used the flashlight to follow the cord, and eventually we found the box.
I opened it and flipped it off, we waited for a moment and the generator stopped. “Okay they should be heading down into the basement now,” I whispered. “Hey, did you really mean that? About wanting to bond with me?” Sarah asked. “Of course I did. You’re dating one of my best friends. He’s too important to me for you to not be important to me too.” “Thank you…”
Sarah gave me a small smile, but then the grandfather clock started chiming, making both of us flinch. We stayed pressed against the wall, keeping watch, or maybe too scared to move. We stayed like that for a few more moments, then we heard a loud clang, freezing to hear if any noises followed.
“Well at least we know they’re down there…” I whispered, and Sarah nodded. We thought we were in the clear, but then slowly the sound of footsteps filled our ears.
I covered my mouth to hide the sound of my breathing as the footsteps came closer, she called out for Leon, Mr. Crain. She must’ve been blind because she walked right past us, but when she screamed, me and Sarah got scared and ran to hide. I found a door but it was nailed shut, and she was coming closer with a fire poker.
She swung it around blindly, and I dodge the best I could, but let out a yelp when she nicked my arm. Sarah ran in, wrestling Mrs. Crain for the fire poker, before grabbing my hand and pulling me to run. She took us to a door to the basement, and we ran down, shouting to warn the others.
“She attacked us with a fire poker!” Sarah explained, but John B was still in the well so Pope and JJ started to pull him up. “Are you okay Junie?” Kie asked me, shining a flashlight on the blood trickling down my arm. “She nicked me, I’m fine-” I panted. “We just need to go.”
John B was shouting something, but we couldn’t make it out, but Pope went into double time pulling him up. Me and Sarah tried to help, but when I pulled, my arm hurt worse so I stopped, just before a gun fired in our direction, all of us scrambling to hide.
“She’s blind!” I shouted. Another shot. “I don’t care if she is- that’s buckshot!” JJ shouted back. Another gunshot just before John B pulled himself up from the well, but we couldn’t wait. We all ran for the door, then out to the street, practically climbing over each other to get in the van, just as John B caught up with us. He fell into the van, shutting the door behind him. He was covered from head to toe in mud.
“JJ drive!” Sarah shouted. “You good? You shot?” JJ asked over his shoulder, but we were all fine, minus the smell coming from JB.
I pulled the bandana off my face and tied it around the wound on my forearm, and then I looked up to see John B holding something shiny… something gold.
“No fucking way.” I said. “You did not-” Kie said, but John B nodded. “You did it!” Pope cheered, and JJ let out a celebratory scream. We did it. We found the gold- we were going to be rich, like Kook rich.
We had a long day ahead of us, so we all went back to the Chateau to sleep. I tried to get JJ to talk to me, but he just went straight into the bedroom, and I knew better than to force him to talk. At least Pope was nice enough to share the pull out couch.
-
The next day, we met up again to melt the gold down, JJ figured we couldn’t sell it with the wheat symbol on it, so Kie used a blowtorch and a pot to melt it down a bit, then we went to the pawn shop. JJ was in charge of that part, because as Pope pointed out, he was the best liar. And he was, he told the woman at the counter that it was from his mom’s jewelry, and melted it down because she’s slowly losing her mind. They settled on $70,000, but she didn’t have the cash, we had to go to the warehouse where they kept the safe, so that was our next errand.
While we were driving down the road she told us, I noticed we were getting awfully close to the Boonies, then passed it, until there was nothing but woods, and that’s when we heard the cop siren. JJ moved to quickly hide his bag with weed in it, while everyone was panicking over it, until we heard the ch-ch of a shotgun, and looked to see a man with a bandana over his face.
“Why don’t I go ahead and see them hands in the air?” The man said.”All y’alls hands up in the air now!” He shouted. He made John B get out first, then told him to let us out, so we all got out with our hands raised. JJ tried to say something but the man screamed at him and told us all to get in the ditch. I was trying to keep my breathing level, trying not to panic.
“It’s a set-up guys!” Kie said. “That old bat shanked us. Fuck! Goddamn it!” JJ hit the ground in frustration. Then John B slowly started to get up, then ran to the cop car.
The man came back to say if we didn’t want our heads blown off, we’d stay right there. But John B was still in the car.
I was shaking with fear, trying not to cry, but then we saw John B and the man fighting, so we all got up. He didn't have the gun, so I swung on him, my fist landing on his cheek, but he quickly recovered, and threw me to the ground. JJ punched him, John B hit with the butt of the gun.
“I got the gold!” Pope said.
JJ bent down to help me up while Sarah hit the man’s head with the car door, then Kie and Pope kicked him, he was down. JJ pulled down his bandana.
“Barry?” I questioned. He lived on the outskirts of the Boonies, my mom would make me pick up firewood from his trailer. “This guy sells coke to my dad,” JJ said, running his hand over his mouth, a sign that his mind was racing. “He probably knows my brother,” Sarah said, panting.
“Listen, I could’ve hurt any one of y’all, Junie you know-” He was cut off by a punch from JJ. When he keeled over, JJ grabbed his wallet, then began walking back to the van.
JJ drove us to the address, I kept quiet that I knew exactly where he lived.
“Welcome to Crackhead Wasteland,” Sarah said as we pulled in. John B nudged her. “Junie is from here.” I heard him whisper, and immediately turned my head so she couldn’t see the look on my face. “Dude, why are we at Barry’s?” John B asked when JJ parked. “This’ll only take a second,” JJ said, getting out. I quickly opened the van door and got out to follow him. When I got into the house, John B was watching as JJ ransacked the place.
“What are we doing?” I asked. “An eye for an eye, bug,” JJ said before going into another room. When he came out, he was carrying a bag. “Alright, took care of business.” “Hey, look at me-” John B said, grabbing hold of JJ. “If you keep going down this road, you’re gonna end up just like your dad-” JJ grabbed John B by his shirt. “You watch your mouth, man. Aren’t you tired of being messed with? Huh? How about you, Junie?” “That’s not the point, JJ.” John B said. “‘Cause I am…” JJ whispered, finally letting go of John B.
JJ went outside, and we followed behind him. “Alright, so we’re looking at about 5 grand each for reparations for putting us through that bullshit.” “So that’s what we’re doing now? We’re robbing drug dealers?” Kie questioned. “This Barry guy’s gonna find out. And he’s gonna come after us,” Sarah pointed out. “Yes he will, this is not the time to start wilin’ out,” Pope added. “How’d you guys like havin’ a gun pulled on you?” JJ countered. “Relax-” John B said. “He had it right here-” JJ whispered. “We gotta get the gold, we’re putting this back,” John B said, but JJ pinned him against the van. “Do you feel like a tough guy, huh? What are you gonna do when he comes for us? For Junie?” “We punch him in the throat,” JJ said. “Yeah, good fuckin’ idea, JJ.” “I’m not putting it back,” JJ said before getting in the van. The rest of us all stared at each other. “You guys gonna get in or what?”
I moved to get in the van, but John B stuck out his arm to stop me, which made JJ come back out. “What?” “We’re sick of your shit,” John B said. “Oh yeah?” “Yeah, you’re pulling guns on people shit,” Kie added. “You acting like a maniac-” Pope started. “Pope, I took the fall for you, man! Know how much money I owe because of you?” “I’m gonna pay you back, and I didn’t ask you to do that!” “I just did pay it back, right here, right now, by myself. You know what? That’s exactly what I’m gonna do, go off by myself.” JJ said, grabbing the bag and walking away.
“JJ!” I called, but when I tried to go after him, John B grabbed me again. “Just let him go…” Kie said, pulling me from John B and into a hug.
We all went to the Wreck to talk, but I wasn’t really listening, too worried about JJ. Kie noticed this. “He’ll be okay. Probably just needs to blow off steam.”
“That’s exactly what I’m worried about…” I said. “He’ll come back, Junie. He’s just… doing a JJ thing.” “Do you think he’ll go home?” Kie asked. “There’s about a zero percent chance that JJ goes home…” Pope said. I bit my lip, and shook my head. “I don’t think that’s true… I need to find him-” I said standing up. “Junie, c’mon,” Pope said. “You can’t go running off, not when we’re this close.” “Listen, most of you guys have amazing parents, who love you so I don’t think you get this. But trust me, okay? If he feels like we’ve turned our backs on him, home is the first place he’ll go. I need to find him,” I said before walking past them, and out of the restaurant.

So I wrote a Mikoto fic for his birthday based loosely around the timeline convo. I'm not putting it up on my AO3, though- because I'm putting it right here! I said I'd be back on the day, and I at least tried to keep my word. Apologies in advance for any spelling or grammatical errors. I'm gonna go work on the orekoto side of this now.
Everyone was keeping away from me. No one would probably wish me a happy birthday this year. It was clear whenever I entered the room... Everything about me made these people uncomfortable. Why was I being treated like the biggest threat here? They're all murderers too! It-
It wasn't even me. I didn't even do anything. Even worse, this place, Milgram, it couldn't even prove I did anything. It's claiming that I have another side to myself. That this double committed the crimes. It was exactly like what I said in that awful interrogation. They got the wrong person, someone who looked similar even though- that someone was me, it wasn't. That sort of thing, can I even believe it?
I mean, isn't it convenient that this place came up with such a wild excuse to justify putting me through all this. I can't take this anymore... I feel like I'm about to fall apart constantly, my memory's been getting worse. All these weird occurrences one after another I-
I can't even trust myself anymore.
It's lonely... I'm all alone again aren't I.
"Hah..."
I couldn't help thinking back to that one questionnaire they had me fill out. One of the questions was if I'd ever dated. I guess the guards impression that I was unpopular wound up being correct in the end.
"You know... there's only so much of this I can take before I get angry." I muttered the words lowly to myself. All those ridiculous accusations, people saying they saw me where I know they didn't see me, blaming me for things I had nothing to do with! It's the same everywhere I go, no matter what I do!
"It wasn't meant to be this way." I looked over my shoulder searching for an all too familiar but now so foreign voice. My own voice from back then-
I hit my hand against the bed before clenching the covers into it tightly. I'm going crazy in here. I can't take it anymore, I can't take any of this anymore. I need to talk to someone anyone. I don't want to be left alone. I don't want to be by myself; I don't want to...
But I'm not. If what this place is claiming- If that's true, I'm not alone then. Yeah, I'm not alone.
Even more than that, now I have a face and name for that reason I'd been searching for, even if it's my own. I won't just sit around here letting anybody say whatever the hell they want about me, I won't let them ruin my life anymore. None of it was meant to be this way it's all their fault things have turned into such a disaster.
So, why shouldn't they have to explain why to me? It's my birthday, after all; it's the least they could do right after making sure nobody here would even talk to me.
"Another me, could there really be such a thing? My tattered clothes, why no one will speak to me, being called a-" I couldn't stop my voice from cracking as I looked down at my own hands "murderer." I choked down my disgust. "I can't bring myself to believe something like that. I'm me after all the one and only. Not mass produced goods or a package deal. Just me...right?"
"Ha..?" A small terrified laugh escaped me. What do I mean, right? Who am I asking? What am I waiting for an answer for? The person that has that- The only one who should is me. Right? That's right...isn't it? I...i...
"Can you even hear me speaking? Can you hear me if I don't...?" Do they know me better than I do...? No, that's a crazy thing to think I'm losing it. This is all their faults, I didn't do anything- I don't remember doing anything! So, why? Why is this happening to me?! Why do I have to go through this?
"If you can hear me just answer already- I can't take this anymore. I deserve an answer I didn't do anything wrong-"
"Didn't do anything wrong?"
I covered my head with my arms on instinct. Not again, not those voices again. I wasn't talking to them. I don't want them to talk to me.
I didn't do it...I didn't do it...I didn't. Just have to be louder to talk more think more anything to just make them stop.
"Why are you being so cruel?" The words came out as a weak whine. At least they came out...
"MURDERER!"
I'm not-
"You're the reason I've ended up like this- the least you could do is ANSWER!" I forced out the words so quickly I almost bit my tongue. For a moment, the voices stopped. There was quiet; a nothing sort of quiet. Then, in what seemed like an instant, I was-
"I what was I doing again..? I was... I-" I shook my head lightly, "Regardless, an answer won't just appear in front of me if I just sit around talking to myself. I won't get one regardless of how much I think, either. It'd be better if I just stopped thinking about it. I've worn myself out enough already anyhow."

The Other Side of Paradise
Chapter 5: Helium
Killer x gn!reader word count: 2.9k first|next
Slowly, your friends began to roll in. You play the part of host, greeting and mingling with everyone. Killer was attached to your hip, not wanting you to wear yourself out - he was still worried about last night's ventures taking a toll on you. You were just fine, however, so you think that was an excuse to stick to your side.
With Kid’s help, you were able to help him relax and he ended up going off to shotgun a beer with some people that arrived or whatever Kid called him to do. You loved him a lot, but sometimes he worried a little too much. You didn't want to impede on his fun just because he was concered about you.
Besides, you felt fine aside from some stiffness.
That was really put to the test when you felt someone tackle you from behind. You caught yourself, wincing only slightly, but otherwise fine. You looked back, seeing Dive hanging on you like a wild animal. “HI Y/N!” She shouted in your ear, causing you to flinch a little. You snorted, standing back up with her plastered to you.
“Hey, Dive.”
You heard another laugh and looked up with a grin. “I'm surprised you're still standing with how you went radio silent after your date last night,” Hop mused as she walked up, a sly grin spreading across her face. Your own face felt like it was on fire suddenly.
“What's the big news!” Dive looked at you excitedly. She wasn't one to care about romance or any “boring” things like relationships. You knew that you were going to have to give Hop the rundown. And you'd probably do it whenever Bubblegum arrived because he was going to want to know just as much.
You set her down, shaking your head. “Can't tell you.”
Hop snorted, rolling her eyes. “Oh, c'mon. You can tell us. We'll act surprised whenever they announce it.”
“Yeah! Tell us! We can keep a secret!” Dive was bouncing on the balls of her feet with excitement as she looked up at you with wild eyes.
You hold up your hands, shaking your head once more. “Not my news to tell.”
“Not fair that you got to know before we did,” Dive mumbled, folding her arms over her chest.
Though, it was always a given. News couldn't be kept from you if Killer knew. It was only natural that you were told the news since it had to do with him in the first place. It would’ve been the same if roles were reversed anyway. Neither of you could keep anything from each other. Well, at least not too long. He did make you wait, after all.
“Can't even give us a hint?” Hop narrowed her eyes at you. You made the motion of closing a zipper over your mouth, locking it, and throwing away a key.
“You're so lame!” Dive groaned, rolling her eyes. “What's the point of being best friends if you keep things from us!”
You feigned having your feelings hurt. “Oh, Dive, how you wound me so.” You shook your head, putting your hands on your hips. “And it's not like you guys aren't already going to find out in a couple hours anyway. Dramatic ass.” You rolled your eyes with a grin.
Dive stuck out her tongue at you. “Whatever.” Then she skipped off, shifting her attention to the food that was laid out on the table.
“You're really not gonna tell us, or at least me?” You looked over at Hop who had her eyes narrowed at you, shaking your head. “I promise it's good”.
“Better be with all the hype and build up.” She snorted. She wrapped her arm around your neck, putting you into some weird side chokehold, and moving on from the discussion. “Now let's go do some shots!”
--
People continued to show up at a steady pace and it wasn't long until your house, backyard, and garage were filled with people. The music was loud, bumping through the house, conversations being carried at full volume, different kinds of party games, all kinds of chaos in general. When you had a friend group as large as yours, it filled any space pretty quickly - especially when they were actually able to all show up.
Honestly, you loved it when your house was like this - filled to the brim with all of your favorite people having a good time.
Killer had found you a few times to be showered in kisses before disappearing into crowds again. You were just glad he was more relaxed and less worried about you now. You were sure the alcohol helped with that, but you’d take it.
“Hope the two of you aren't having too much fun without me.” A voice came from behind both you and Hop as the two of you stood out back, having a small gossip sesh. A voice that the two of you were very familiar with.
“Gummy!” Both of you cheered as you turned around. He mirrored the large smile the both of you had plastered on your faces. “Hello, my absolute best friends. Especially the one who went radio silent after their date last night.”
Your face went red again. “Whaaaat?” The two just grinned at you after glancing at each other. Man, not even two seconds into being here and he’s already hounding you for details.
“Well, you can make up for it by telling me what the buzz is all about,” Bubblegum said, moving to make himself a drink.
“Huh?” You're perhaps a little drunk, not fully grasping what he was asking.
“What's the news? Why were we all summoned?”
You blinked slowly as you processed his words before taking your head. “No.”
“No?”
Hop shook her head right along with you. “Nope. Wouldn't tell me either.” She sighed, pouting slightly.
“Must be real big if you won’t even tell us.”
You nodded, saying nothing more on the matter. You were determined to keep their secret safe. You were already fighting for your life trying not to tell Hop and Bubblegum anyway, so the less you spoke about it - the better.
“With news this big and with how you guys are hyping it up, they better have been signed,” he grumbled, sipping his drink.
You, however, were caught off guard that he guessed right off the bat, choking on your own drink. You're pretty sure it came out of your nose.
“Oh my god. Was I right?” A big, shiteating grin spread across Bubblegum’s face. “I'm right, aren't I?”
The same smile was appearing on Hop’s face. “Holy shit, why didn't I think of that! It’s totally that isnt it?”
You held your hand up, still trying to recover from choking. You'd done a movie worthy spit take with that level of surprise. The two snorted at you as you tried to gather yourself, coughing and doing another shot to help recover.
“With that response, I'm assuming I'm right,” he said, snorting and shaking his head. “Even if you deny it at this point, I know in my heart of hearts I’m correct now.” You just stared at him with wide eyes not saying anything.
“Oh my god! He is right!” The two of them cheered and laughed while you sat there pale as a ghost. Oh, you hoped they didn't say anything. Sure, they were good at keeping secrets, obviously, but alcohol could be a cruel mistress in letting things slip out.
“Oh lighten up, y/n!” Bubblegum threw an arm around you. “We're not gonna say anything, your secret's safe with us,” he mused. “Until everyone else knows.” The two of them chuckled at your stunned silence. He was right though, you knew you could trust them. After all, they were your closest friends outside of the ones you grew up with. You knew they wouldn’t tell anyone.
“Before we accidentally blow it, let's change topic. Something I've been wanting to ask, but I've been waiting for Gummy to get here.” Hop, thankfully, switched the topic. You were worried that they'd say something too loud and then everyone would know. With this many people around it was hard to talk about things without being overheard.
“I bet I can guess that one too,” he said. You looked at him quizzically. “Uh?” They were pulling you in a million directions, leaving you stunned and confused like some kind of flashbang.
They both gave you droll expressions and you tried to rack your brain. “What- oh.” They grinned, nodding. “There it is,” Hop said.
They wanted to know about yesterday. It was only the one thing you talked about since Killer made the plans. You had been over the moon about it.
The three of you settled onto the couch in the garage and you told them how the date went. The smoothie place, the movie, your mischievous actions, the forest, and the fact that it went pretty much until the sun came up. You didn't give them the absolute details, but you mentioned that you're pretty sure you saw god and it was Killer.
The three of you continued to do what you did best. Gossip. They asked questions, you answered. Then they filled you in on what you missed from being out for the count the last twenty four hours. And with a friend group as large as yours, there was always a lot going on.
-
Eventually, you hear Kid's voice boom through the house as he called for everyone to make their way to the set up outside. Earlier, the five of you, well, four, considering Killer wouldn't let you help, set up a few tables to make one long table out back for the dinner you had planned. Yes, there was food already out but that was just snacks, this was going to be a feast.
That's why Killer had been cooking all day, after all. Though, Kid was able to help a little bit with the grilling.
The two next to you start grinning their knowing grins and you had to smack the both of them to remind them that they're not supposed to know. You just hoped they were able to save face and not reveal anything long enough for the news to be delivered first. It was getting harder the drunker you became. You were also glad that Dive wasn't around when they figured it out because she was the worst at lying which made her terrible at keeping secrets. She always would have a pained look on her face and that's how you knew she was hiding something. It wasn’t exactly her fault, she tried to keep secrets, she just looked like she’d explode if she didn’t tell people. Not for lack of trying.
The three of you head outside and you immediately spot your boyfriend at the table. You grin widely, making your way over to him before plopping yourself down in his lap. “Well, hello to you too,” he mused, wrapping his arms around your waist.
You turn to kiss him, sighing into him. Man, you were going to miss him.
“Bigs! Knock it off! I'm tryna make an announcement here!” Kid's voice rang through the backyard and made your ears ring. The two of you laughed, pulling apart.
“Alright, alright. You have the floor, Tungsten.” A sly grin spread across your face. You two weren’t ones to shy away from arguing in front of your friends. Actually, it was a given at this point.
Kid just narrowed his eyes at you at your light teasing. “That's not…” He trailed off, grumbling to himself for a moment before shaking it off. He wasn’t going to let your egging on get in the way of his news. “Anyway.”
His eyes scan the table, looking at everyone for a moment before grinning. “I bet you're wondering why I've gathered all of you here today and why the universe aligned so perfectly to let us ALL enjoy it.”
“Get on with it!” A tong flung across the table, striking Pomp in the head as soon as the words left his mouth.
Kid straightened himself back out. “Fucking. Don’t interrupt.” He huffed. “As I was saying.” He grinned widely. You knew he wasn't one for speeches. He was just going to say it.
“Finally, after years of hard work - we've been signed!”
Everyone was in stunned silence for a moment. You could hear the gears turning. Luckily, Bubblegum and Hop were just waiting for everyone to react so they could join in. You thought they’d immediately cheer, but luckily, they could read a room.
Then everyone burst into roars of cheering. There was screaming, howling, whistling. Gig even ripped off his shirt as he cheered, waving it around in the air before throwing it. Boogie and Mosh yelled before smashing their heads together after shotgunning a beer. Just buck wild all around.
Kid yells, demanding everyone's attention once more. It takes a moment, but it slowly calms down. Also after your cousin throws a few items at a few domes, that helps catch people’s attention.
“That all being said, we'll have to move to the big city. We'll be moving about 20 hours away.”
Everyone was silent. Realization was settling in. Yeah, they were signed, but they'd also be leaving. Which also meant they'd come to parties less often and overall be not around. Sure, there was the group chat, but they were about to be so busy.
“When do you leave?” UK asked.
“Monday.”
The crowd burst into murmurs and whispers. “Monday? Thats so fast!” Hip said, shaking her head. “Why so soon?”
“Well, there's a lot of papers and such to sign. They just want to get started as soon as possible.”
More whispers.
“You're still gonna visit, right?”
Kid scoffed, rolling his eyes. “Of course we are! You guys are our friends - our home. We wouldn't have made it this far without you. As soon as we get rich, we're gonna buy one of those huge mansions and everyone is welcome to live with us!”
The crowd erupted into cheers again. After all, it's pretty much what you did now. The house was much smaller than a mansion, of course. Much, much smaller. But everyone came and went right now anyway. Everyone had their own routines and classes. They didn't live here, but that would truly be the life.
All of your best friends, your family, in one place. Coming and going as they pleased like always but you'd live together. Now that you could get behind. You found yourself cheering as well.
The idea of everyone living together in a mansion had also been the dream along with the rockstar dream. If the rockstar dream didn't work out, everyone was gonna pitch in for a large house to live in. Which, with thirty or so people could be pretty easy. Some people might have to room together, but it wasn’t anything that bothered any of you.
But if they ended up getting a mansion everyone could have their own room!
At this point, things grew too chaotic for Kid to rally, not that he really tried. He said his piece, everyone was excited and buzzing about the news. You noticed Gig crying and hugging everyone around him. You couldn't help but smile.
“Ugh, I'm so glad we don't have to hold it in anymore. I thought I was going to explode.” Bubblegum spoke before thinking then his eyes widened at you. Your own eyes widened. You felt Killer’s arms wrap around you a little tighter.
“What is this about holding something in? Did you tell them?” His voice was low and in your ear.
Hop and Bubblegum looked at you, both wide eyed. They saw the look Killer gave over your shoulder and they skittered away quicker than you could blink. Even drunk, he was sharp. And they just signed your death sentence.
You turned around in his lap. “Babe.” He looked up at you through his hair, a dangerous look on his face. “It's not what you think. I didn't tell them.”
“Then what was that about?” His voice was smooth and deep, sending you shivers down your spine. Not in fear, but excitement. You knew exactly what to expect when he got like this.
“Uh, well, earlier we were drinking. And Bubblegum guessed it-”
“And you told them?”
“No! I didn't say anything! But they went with it as truth.” You frowned.
“Mm, still sounds to me like you admitted it. Looks like I'll just have to-”
“KILLER!” The two of you jumped as Kid’s voice rang through the crowd. “C'mon, we're gonna play a set!”
“We'll pick up this convo later,” he purred before removing you from his lap. Your heart is racing with excitement and anticipation. You knew he wasn't actually mad. He could never be mad at you, but damn when he put on that fake anger attitude, it turned you on so much.
Hop and Bubblegum rejoined your side. “Are you in trouble?”
You had a dreamy look in your eyes. “Hopefully.” You sighed, leaning into the table, chin in hand as you watched your boyfriend head towards the makeshift stage they set up.
The two of them burst into laughter. “We'll take it!”
With that, the three of you go into full rager mode.

Hello! I'd love a sacred realm headcannon for Time with a shy SO, if you wouldn't mind?
AWEEEEE ABSOLUTELY!!! FHJDSKFJKS
Pairing: Sr! Time x shy!reader (gn) Warning:none?
Time
Okay I can honestly see this dude going two ways with how he reacts/handles having a shy s/o! But either way he does love and care for you, your more reserved nature would never change that!
I can see him being someone who would try to get you a little more out of your comfort zone (whether that be with social interactions, speaking up for yourself, or just being out in public!) near the beginning of your relationship as a way to get you more comfortable in said situations
Both in life and death he would often find himself in very...extroverted circles and wants you to be as comfortable as possible considering you might be around those circles quite a bit!
Now, as you two grow in your relationship and he comes to realize, or you tell him, that his actions weren't helping and just making you even more uncomfortable he quickly stops them
he isn't the best with words, so his verbal apology might seem a bit off putting, but he tries to best to make it up to you! (whether that be in gifts, quality time, or making sure that you're alright in whatever situation you two are in!)
BUT i can also see him as the sort of guy who, if he was aware of your shy nature before dating, wouldn't care that much at all! If anything he finds it rather endearing, making you less of a headache to be around :3 /j
He understands that you're naturally more revered and respects it. The hero of Time isn't actually the most outgoing person either, so it would be a TAD hypocritical for him to judge you on such a trait!
NOW!! For how he acts and interacts with his shy lover? HEHEHEH
Time honestly, but secretly, really likes when you stand by his side-or more like hide by his side! He subtlety broaden his shoulders to cover you when you find yourself inching behind the might hero while you two are in a social interaction that leaves you tired or anxious
This tall, grumpy ass man gets a little giddy, and proud, if you grab onto his cloak to keep him close!
Lets you play with his hand if you're anxious and can't leave, will glare at ANYONE who makes a comment about it LMAO
Wild had pictures of Time looming behind you, VERY INTIMIDATINGLY, whilst you quietly spoke to a shopkeeper! The owner couldn't see the hero, but his mere presence was enough to make the owner turn ghost white!
YOU TWO ARE TOTALLY THE 'They asked for no pickles' COUPLE!!!
Oh, did they mess up your order and you don't want to bother them again? First, you wouldn't be bothering them it is quite literally their job. Second! Time is already halfway towards the tavern's counter with your incorrect meal in hand -3-
Will NOT tolerate people making fun or joking about your shy nature. He doesn't care if its one of the other heroes or a living person, he can and WILL put them in their place one way or another.
OH OH!! Time is also totally the type of lover who would encourage you to take the lead in some situations (which he has difficulties with but thats more because hes a control freak), quietly reassuring and praising you as the day goes on but if he notices its getting too much for you he is quick to take charge once more!
Now, as much as he loves you he would not treat you as a baby. He is willing to be by your side no matter what, but you also have to learn how to survive on your own! Both in and out of battle!
But even with being said (by him, many times) its very common to see him speaking on your behalf -with your consent and agreement- in loud situations!
All an all, He loves you and wants to make sure you feel nothing but comfortable around him!

REVIEWS OF THE WEEK!
Books I’ve read so far in 2023!
Friend me on Goodreads here to follow my more up to date reading journey for the year!
___
196. The Alien by K.A. Applegate--⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was such an interesting perspective! I wasn't expecting it a few books back and was curious how Applegate would tackle it, especially since we know so little about the character. It definitely added a new pov to the story and I'm excited to see how they are represented in the future after more time has passed and more character development has happened!
I can't say too much because spoilers. But I am genuinely enjoying this series and can't wait to get to the next one!
___
197. The Grip Of It by Jac Jemc--⭐️⭐️
If there is one thing this confusing and jarring book did really well, it is the representation of what it might be like to slowly fall into madness. The way the characters worked off each other in their madness and the way the dialogue and chapters worked together to create a choppy and disorienting dialogue was genius.
What wasn't so genius was how confused I was most of the time. There are so many unanswered questions and the story is full of confusing moments. I know that Horror can sometimes truly be a hit or miss and that one person's horror won't be another, but this is the kind of horror that should probably be read more than once to fully grasp just what the hell is actually happening.
I will say that while the structure of the story definitely works in creating the mood of the story, listening to the audiobook was an interesting and frustrating experience. The chapters would end rather abruptly and would often leave me wondering what had just happened.
Overall, this book was everything I was expecting, but also underwhelming in its over-all presentation. It was wild and so brain twisting. I don't know if I'd recommend it, but if I did, I'd recommend reading it slowly and maybe more than once LOL.
___
198. The Island by Adrian McKinty--⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
THE ISLAND was both exactly what I was hoping it would be and still completely different than what I was expecting. I knew it was going to be a ride, but I wasn't prepared for the level of wildness that this book would adopt.
Imagine that you're on vacation with your new husband and his children, shortly after those kids' biological mother has passed away. You're in a country you know close to nothing about (Australia) and being the tourists who should be featured in a horror film, you find yourselves on a small, private island being chased by a trigger happy and aggrieved family. What ensues is something straight out of Hollywood.
I saw this as a cautionary tale for "actions have consequences" and while yes, the consequences here are dire, we have to admit that the catalyst for this was heartbreaking. I think McKinty does a good job of showcasing the dangers of grief and the magic of morally grey characters. Let's be real, the MC and her husband are no saints. They do a pretty twisted thing in order to save their asses and while yes, I was rooting for them and the kids, a corner of my mind couldn't forget the awfulness of their choices.
If you're a parent, this might be a little bit of a rougher read since it does include younger kids in dangerous situations. We get to see an MC who grows as a character in order to make sure these kids survive, but I know some parents, especially those who have younger kids, might have a harder time with stories like this one. Keeping that warning in mind, there were some pretty badass moments, but also some very human ones, as well.
I really enjoyed this and I'm glad I finally picked it up!
___
199. Aesthetica by Allie Rowbottom--⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
AESTHETICA was a lot and to be honest, I think that's necessary in the world we live in. So many young people obsessed with social media and their appearance on those apps are incredibly impressionable. What can help them be more famous? What can make them look more beautiful? The exploration of beauty standards and how they affect a young woman, in particular, and those around her can be relatable to at least one reader.
I think that Rowbottom's book is also a great look into generational trauma because of how the MC's mother raised her and how she herself had a level of dislike towards her mom that is a whole other side to this book. While we have the clear main story of the MC regretting the choices she made and dealing with that trauma, we also have her disentangling her love/hate relationship for her ill mother.
AESTHETICA was brought to my attention by an article presenting it as a horror story. In some ways, I can understand that. There is a certain kind of horror behind the trauma of selling yourself in the name of success. There is definitely a particular kind of horror in wanting to face all of the trauma you've faced, to the point where you're set on undoing everything that is the physical proof of that trauma.
Though this is a relatively short book, I think it carries a lot of weight. We see the power of social media and a naive mentality. We see the dangers of those who present themselves in a certain way. And we see the sometimes incredibly complex relationships between mothers and daughters and how deeply entwined these relationships and our own self worth can be. Also, a brief mention on the power of childhood friendships and how they can scar us if they end too soon, or shift in any way that is beyond our control.
I'd recommend this if you want a bit of an acid trip of an exploration into the above mentioned topics.
___
200. Icebreaker by Hannah Grace--⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
RE-READ: September 2023:
My library got the audiobook version, so of course I HAD to put a hold on it. I was a little scared I wouldn't love this book as much as I did the first time around, but I'm happy to say that I DID! ICEBREAKER is still one of my favourite romances, if only because of the level of communication between the characters. I also forgot how spicy and full of sexual tension this book was.
Overall, super happy I re-read this. Maybe it'll be a yearly re-read. 😌
___
201. Theodore Boone: Kid Lawyer by John Grisham--⭐️⭐️⭐️
There's something interesting about an older man writing a young kid--especially when his MC mentions in the book that at 13 years old, boys don't even notice girls and actively try to stay away from them. LOL. I actually laughed at that because I was thirteen over twenty years ago and I distinctly remember that not being the case. I just thought that was hilarious and felt super disconnected. Not that I want a romance story in a middle grade book, but just...let's be real. And I mention this first because it happens pretty early on.
Anyway, the MC was a pretty cool kid--he knows everyone and even has a little side gig where he gives advice to his classmates. His smart take on the current case and his enthusiasm jumps off the page. I'm not sure how I will feel about the rest of the series, but we will see!
___
202. Misery by Stephen King--⭐️⭐️⭐️
I went into MISERY knowing that it's a fan favourite. I don't know what I was expecting, but I was a bit let-down. I think that while I did enjoy some aspects of this book and was genuinely freaked out at times, this kind of fell into the same category of THE SHINING for me. When I read THE SHINING, it was incredibly hyped up and even though it DID have a terrifying take on the fall of madness, it was otherwise meh for me.
One of the best things that King does with his writing (or at least back them) was his creation of madness in a character. He somehow knows how to take the most terrifying characteristics of humanity and integrates them really well into his characters. The brutality of this villain was something else, especially when we actively see her professing her love for the MC and then causing him bodily harm.
I think one of the downfalls for me in my reading experience of this was listening to the audiobook. It was disjointed and confused the hell out of me. Maybe physically reading it would have been a wholly different experience, but the disorientation of the audiobook could have either freaked me out or confused me and sadly, it was the latter.
Not my favourite King novel, but I can see why so many love it. Will continue on my reading journey with King's books.
___
203. Natural Beauty by Ling Ling Huang--⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Phew, this book was weird and wild and hooked me right from the beginning.
Huang explores so many topics in her skin crawling novel: Racism, social perception of beauty, the addiction the wealthy sometimes have when it comes to "self-care", unexplored sexuality, envy, and SA in the most unusual of ways but could also be an allusion to how the rich can sometimes use money when it comes to getting away with sexual crimes.
I never expected body horror when I picked up NATURAL BEAUTY, but here we are. I remember when that started to show up in the narrative, along with the changing physical body of the MC, I paused what I was doing (while listening to the audiobook) and became even more enthralled. This was such a creepy and genius exploration of societal expectations and the things people will sometimes do to be either "different" or "like everyone else".
There's also an interesting sub-story about the MC's experiences as a child musical prodigy and how that definitely played into her malleability as a victim for the people who would eventually take advantage of her. It definitely played into the stereotypes society has about young Asian children when it comes to classical music.
And somewhere along the way, as the MC is evolving (both metaphorically AND physically), she starts to discovery a side to her sexuality never fully explored. During these scenes, it truly reminded me of the "will they/won't they" that usually accompanies blossoming sexuality--the "I want this, but do I really? But should I? Do THEY want to?" narrative that usually flashes through our minds when we're right on the verge of making that exploration.
Anyway, I'm just rambling now. I really enjoyed this, much more than I thought I would because this book was WEIRD. Like, mind-bending weird. And if it was ever made into a movie, I'd be watching it with the biggest side-eye.
