Of Meetings and Musings
Masterlist
Not so Fake
“I expected this from Dick, not from you Alfred.” Tim said blankly from his place on the ground. Wrapped in what he could only define as a Military grade Bat-proof burrito blanket.
“Well Master Timothy I know better than anyone that you would not listen to reason. The moment your brothers’ and father's back are turned you'd be gone and already ten feet deep in your newest case.” Alfred moved forward placing a cup to the side of Tim’s head before bending the straw so that he could turn his head to take a sip. “Be happy I am letting you sit in on over video call for the Justice League meeting.” Alfred pulled out a domino mask, securely attaching it to Tim’s face.
“This is mildly embarrassing.” Alfred looked at him for a second before reaching over and turning off the camera feed on their side.
“Better?”
“Slightly.”
“Good, now I expect that water will be gone by the end of this meeting or your coffee ban will be extended. I will be in the kitchen, just call if you need me.”
“Understood.” Tim said glumly as he thought about coffee. Alfred gave him an amused smile before walking off towards the kitchen.
Tim couldn't help but pout over the fact that he was even in the situation. He just wanted to do an intensive search into the Infinite Realms, while simultaneously hacking into the government agency known as the Ghost Investigation Ward, light work really. He barely had time to react before he was caught by Alfred. Honestly they act like he had a problem.
Tim in fact does have a problem.
Dick had managed to convince them to let Tim at least listen into the meeting. Which won him some points in Tim’s book, going off a mental tally he was now tied for second place with Duke. Cass remained in the number one favorite sibling spot, while Jason had dropped to last after the spam of pictures he took of him in the burrito.
The complete asshole he was had probably already posted them all over Twitter and Instagram. Tim wasn't ready for his Wayne Enterprises PR team email, he was gonna get Jason back for this.
He sighed, taking a sip from his straw tuning back in as Batman called attention.
“Very startling information has been brought to my attention. Something that we should've known sooner but slipped under the radar.” Batman straightens, moving to the side as the projector turns on. Displaying a PowerPoint that Tim considered woefully uninformed considering Jason had made it. Jason's the only one that uses PowerPoints weird transitions, and Tim knows he could have found everything Jason compiled in under an hour.
“The Anti-Ecto Acts a law passed by Luthor during his President run. It was signed into law the day after Gotham was declared no man's land, leaving it to slip our attention.” Nightwing turned the page in the packet he had gotten made up, signaling the others to turn as well. It was the bill in full for them to read over. “This law states that any being made of ectoplasm or able to create it are classified as undead and non-sentient. They automatically lose all human rights, and are open season to be experimented on or exterminated. They also declare it a crime to be a ghost or Ecto-Entity, the Ghost Investigation Ward, operating under the government, is given full rights to arrest those they deem undead.” Batman clicked the next slide to show multiple League members’ pictures. “Multiple League members are considered to be undead.” Everyone was stunned as they looked over the pictures, Superman was the first to speak up.
“Batman, seven of those pictures.” Batman nodded his face blank but his kids could read him clearly.
“Seven of Gotham's vigilantes are considered non-sentient and inhuman. Myself included, anyone in the Justice League that has died and managed to come back. If we don't move fast, we'll all be in trouble.”
Tim sighed, shaking his head deciding to step in.
“Under statement of the year B. This is one, either a plan Luthor made to take us down, or two, the start to tearing down all protections Metas and Aliens currently have.” Constantine nodded before standing up moving to the front.
“I thought you all knew about this, else I would've told you sooner. We're all in lot of trouble with these Acts. Luthor basically declared war against another nation.”
“What do you mean John?” Superman questioned as he leaned forward more his Eyes kept straying back to his picture and that of his god kids. Batman nodded to Constantine letting him take over the presentation. Tim was surprised to see screenshots of Danny’s videos on the next slide.
“There is a Realm that coincides with ours and every other universe that exists. It's known as the Infinite Realms, to put in bluntly, if the Infinite Realms was to be destroyed every universe would too. The Infinite Realms is inhabited by ghosts and primordials, beings that could and would destroy worlds if they simply teamed up. The Anti-Ecto Acts is a declaration of war against them.” Constantine sighed, rubbing the back of his neck as he glanced at the pictures. “For one we need to get it repealed immediately. Second we need to start peace treaties with the Infinite Realms, up until a few years ago it would’ve been impossible. The King was a tyrant that would love a war, however three years ago he was defeated in battle and another was Crowned.”
“How do we get in contact with this new King?” Wonder Woman questioned crossing her arms determined to see the Acts abolished.
“The only lead we have is, and I shit you not, this YouTuber.” Tim blue screened for a moment as his eyes zeroed in on a screenshot of Danny’s grinning face. Constantine held his hands up at the incredulous looks he was getting. “I know, sounds down right loony but it’s true. GalacticPhantom, also known as Danny, has posted multiple videos of himself and friends interacting with Ghosts from the Infinite Realms. The most important being the young ghost girl with white hair in the last photo. If our connections are correct, that girl is Princess Danielle Phantom, clone of High King Phantom and heir apparent. In order to reach the King, we need to reach her, and to reach her, we need Danny.”
Tim blinked before dropping his head against the floor groaning slightly, thinking about how they’d have to go about this.
“Before we continue with this.” He interrupted grumpily knowing this was going to cause issues. “So as the resident expert on GalacticPhantom,”
“Yes Red, we know you have a crush on the YouTuber.” Hood called out teasingly, earning a few small smiles. Tim was silent just glaring at the camera before speaking again.
“Congratulations Robin you’ve moved up the rankings of my favorites lists.”
“Tt- I don’t care about the nonsense you’re spewing Red.”
“Awe, Robin are you smirking? That's so cute! My baby birds are bonding!” Nightwing I swear I will stab you.”
“Back to the point!” Tim said loudly, wanting to slam his head against the floor. “Danny’s friend Wes, he is either incredibly smart or a psychic of some sort. He has a majority of our identities clocked. Stop yelling, honestly, I believe he has a curse much like Cassandra of Troy, the only people that believe him are his friends.” Batman sighed and everyone watched in shock as he pinched his nose.
“Red, we are going to have a serious talk about sharing important information like that.” Tim snorted, rolling his eyes as he took a long sip of his water.
“Honestly B, the only reason I’m telling you now is because he is going to immediately know something is wrong. Given that only his friends listen to him, well I have no fact they all will be on high alert. To put it plainly, for once we can’t sneak around in the shadows.”
“Damn, we have to do a Superman confrontation.” Nightwing said glumly, earning a teasing offended look from the man himself.
“What’s wrong with my way?”
“It’s not as fun ‘cause they see you coming. It’s never a surprise, I like surprising them.”
“Ya, you would Wing.” Superman said affectionately before Batman called attention back to their meeting.
“We better start planning then, I want us to be in peace talks within the week. I am giving Oracle and Red Robin full permission to pull up everything from GIW and get it blasted through every media outlet, converging with Superman on certain points of this. Given the new knowledge our best bet would be to go in with civilians. I will ask the Waynes to act as liaison for us, given they are our biggest benefactors they can be direct contact between the two.” Batman turned the power point off before moving to the middle of the table again.
“Given the threat all of us are currently facing, I am enacting Protocol Convergence effective immediately. No hero is to do sole patrols, heroes are required to keep emergency homing beacons on them at all times. If anyone is confronted by the GIW they are to retreat immediately and alert the others. The Watchtower is having its shields upgraded and will be ready for the possibility of an attack. If the GIW does approach one of us, either meet here, Superman’s Fortress of Solitude, or the Batcave. I will be temporarily opening the Zeta-Tube for the cave, do not abuse this. Now, we need to get to work everyone is dismissed.”
Danny stopped suddenly causing everyone to look at him confused as he slowly put his missing bowl down and looked around the school kitchen suspiciously. Lunch Lady also stopped in her mixing, having agreed to have a bake off with King Phantom for one of his videos.
“What's wrong Pudding pop?” She asked softly, placing a hand on his back, Danny didn’t respond for a moment before turning to them and making eye contact with Dani, who also looked off put.
“Someone not of the Realms used our official titles.” Danny muttered shifting back and forth before giving Lunch Lady a tense smile. He stood taller, no longer slouching as his transformation took place, leaving him in his royal regalia, Dani transforming soon after moving to stand beside him. “I’m sorry, can we reschedule this? I feel the need to speak with my Council.” Lunch Lady nodded, snapping her fingers causing their ingredients to disappear and be replaced with freshly baked cookies.
“Of course your Majesties.” She said curtsying before offering a plate to Dani who took it with a grin. “I will reach out to Royal Secretary Foley to reschedule. I hope that you find everything well.” Danny smiled nodding as he opened a portal for her back to hers and Box Ghost’s Haunt.
“I do as well, please tell Box Ghost I said hello.” Lunch Lady smiled, thanking Danny and promising to do so before stepping through and waving goodbye. “Do you all want to come?” Wes glared, rolling his eyes as he stood up stretching.
“Stupid question, of course we’re coming.” Danny grinned rolling his eyes as he opened a portal to the Infinite Realms Castle. Dani bounced through calling out to them as she started flying down the hallway.
“See you in the Council room! I’m going to summon the Council!” Val snorted, walking through after Sam and Tucker. Wes entered the portal two steps behind Danny watching carefully until it was closed.
“This’ll be interesting.” Sam said, stretching out her arms as the Realms fueled her liminal side and green vines wrapped around her left arm sprouting a few black and red roses. Tucker snorted as his hat was replaced by a Nemes and the traditional makeup of a Pharaoh appeared marking him as the reincarnation of Duul Aman. Val paused looking herself over before huffing and crossing her arms glaring at the ceiling.
“Really?? Still nothing? Is it because I tried to kill him at one point, come on I’ve changed and been reformed! Give me some cool ghostly changes! Even Wes gets them!” She said, glaring at Wes, who just grinned back as he adjusted the chest plate and sword that appeared on him.
“To be fair Val, I only get it because I forced my way into being his knight.” Val huffed, throwing her arms up more playful than frustrated. Danny snorted before starting to walk towards the Council room the other following after.

Another Hangover Cure
Author’s Note: I got this idea from @yearninglustfully on this post! I recommend reading Hangover Cure first!
Summary: You, Rhys, and Cassian aren't allowed to be together alone anymore... but what about when the three of you are paired up for business?
Pairing: Azriel x Reader, Platonic!Rhys x Reader, Platonic!Cassian x Reader
Warnings: drinking, implied smut, let me know if I need to add any others :)
Your specialty for the Night Court had always been spells and wards. You could easily place a spell or ward anything. Your intelligence is what made Rhys invite you to work for him so long ago. That is how you started at the Night Court and it quickly became your home.
For a while, you had been practicing breaking wards and spells. It was much harder than it seemed and you had yet to master it.
Rhys had brought you a box that had been warded many many years ago and after working on it for a month, you told him you needed help. It was a much older and stronger magic than you were used to and you weren't afraid to admit when you couldn't do something.
After much contemplation, Rhys decided he would go to Helion, the High Lord of the Day Court, to get his help. He wanted you to come with and told Cassian he would also be coming for extra security.
You were currently in a meeting with everyone in the IC discussing this.
"Absolutely not. You three cannot be trusted together." Az immediately stated.
Feyre and Nesta immediately agreed with the male.
"Listen, we need Y/N for this so she can learn and see how its done. This is literally her area of expertise, she is crucial for this. I am the High Lord, it is a curtesy for me to go and the only reason Cass is going as security is because the rest of you are busy." Rhys told the group.
"Don't think I forgot about the tree you three stole!" Az responded.
"You told him?!" Cassian asked you.
You grimaced and gave him with a sorry look.
"This won't be like us going out for a night out, this will be us doing work." You reasoned with Az.
"Yes, strictly business" Cass added with a salute to the shadowsinger
"Fine, but not for too long. You three have to come back by tomorrow." Az compromised.
"Deal." You, Rhys, and Cass all said in unison.
Azriel pulled you aside before you left.
"Please be safe my love. And as much as I am worried about the three of you together, I do want you to enjoy yourself still...just not too much. Helion can get handsy." He ended the sentence with a scowl.
"You're the only one I could ever want. I promise I will be safe and responsible." You told him
He placed a kiss on your forehead and helped you strap on your bag.
"I love you so much, have a safe trip." He spoke and then placed a loving kiss on your lips.
You heard Cass make a gagging sound and Az rolled his eyes at his brother.
You walked over to him and Rhys and the three of you started the journey to the Day Court.
Azriel, Nesta, and Feyre all stood watching you three leave.
"This is not a good idea" Nesta spoke
"Terrible idea" Feyre agreed.
"Lets just hope they learned their lesson last time." Azriel added
The three split up and went to do their work for the day.
Once you made it to the Day Court, Helion was quick to greet you.
"Ahh Y/N, my protege! I am so excited to teach you my ways." He announced and brought you in for a kiss on the cheek.
"Hands off, Helion. I promised my brother I wouldn't let you be all over her." Cassian told him
You all laughed and after the rest of the greetings, he led the three of you inside.
The warded box was laying on the table in front of you all while Helion examined it.
"Hmm this is rare and old magic indeed. I believe the reason you could not crack it was that it requires two to break the spell." He told you.
You let out a sigh in relief, knowing that it wasn't entirely your fault that you couldn't figure it out. The Day Court High Lord explained what you had to do and how these specific wards worked. You actually learned a lot from him and were grateful for this experience.
The two of you worked on the box and eventually broke it open. Rhys stored the contents of it in his bag and began to talk.
"Alright, well thank you for all of your help. This has been very-" he started but Helion cut him off.
"You're leaving already? I had a whole meal and night planned, which included the finest wine we have to offer." He told you three with a smile that showed all his teeth.
You looked over at Cass who was already smiling at you and then Rhys who looked to be contemplating his next words.
"It would be rude to leave when they went through all the effort of putting it together for us." Cass spoke before Rhys could.
"So its settled! You're staying. I have rooms for you all so you can stay the night as well. Our wine is no joke, you probably won't be able to have three glasses before blacking out." Helion stated, leading you to the dining room.
The four of you ate a lovely meal, sharing stories and enjoying the wine. It seemed every time you would drink it, it would fill itself up. Perhaps thats why a few glasses would get someone drunk beyond belief.
Before you knew it, you were already feeling tipsy. You could tell the others were as well, due to their pink cheeks and loud voices.
"Are you guys interested in seeing how the Day Court parties?" Helion asked.
"Absolutely!" Cass responded.
"I'm intrigued." Rhys added.
You just nodded and giggled, knowing the wine was taking over quickly.
That was the last thing you remember from the night. Well, you remember dancing and laughing, a lot of laughing.
---
"I can't believe they did it again!" You heard Feyre speak.
"I can. I told you it was a bad idea." Nesta added.
Azriel just stood in silence watching the mess on the ground with a smile on his face.
He didn't care that he had to come help you after you had a fun night. He trusted you and he trusted his brothers. He secretly enjoyed getting to take care of you for the day. He was just concerned with you getting so drunk that your shields would be down.
Your eyes slowly opened and the feeling of drinking too much wine last night hit you. You were laying on your back sprawled out like a starfish. Everything hurt and you had no idea what you were even laying on.
You slowly began to roll over and continued rolling as if you were going down a hill until you hit the floor. Once you looked over, you realized you were laying on top of Rhys, Cass, and Helion, who were all bunched into a ball, and there was a...door laying between Rhys and Helion. You weren't even sure who's limbs belonged to who, they were so twisted up.
They all started to wake up after you moved off of them and all were groaning and grunting in pain.
"Is this what you call strictly business?" Az asked with a smirk on his face.
"Don't tell me we did it again." Rhys mumbled
"Cass why are you wearing my socks as gloves again?" you asked, holding your head to stop the pounding.
"At least I didn't go through a wall this time." Cass said in defense.
"Actually..." Helion stated as he raised his pointer finger and pointed it at the wall behind them, "we both went through that wall. Y/N sure can make one hell of a ricochet ward."
"Helion, you told me you would watch over them so it wouldn't happen again!" Feyre scolded him
"After you told me about how these three party, I wasn't going to let the night go to waste. I wanted to have some fun!!" He defended himself.
"So that's why my glass kept refilling itself!" You said in an accusatory tone, pointing at him.
"Ok I'm leaving for 20 minutes to let you four figure out what happened and once I get back I want to know everything." Nesta stated and Feyre and Az followed her.
"Well, it could be worse than this, I guess." Cass stated
"Could it?" Rhys retorted.
You grimaced and looked around as a memory hit you.
"Helion, did I ride a pegasus last night?" You asked
"I believe you did and I believe it bonded with you." He replied with a nod of approval.
You looked over at Cassian and only then realized he was entirely orange.
"What happened to you?!" You exclaimed.
"I don't know!" He replied starting to freak out.
"I can help with that one. You said you could pull off any color so Y/N bet that you wouldn't look good if you were orange." Rhys said, his voice rough
You looked at the orange male with a sorry look and said, "oops?"
"Rhys, why are you laying with a door on top of you?" It was Helion's turn to ask.
"I was cold." Your High Lord told him.
The four of you were silent for a few moments, just watching each other.
"You have a black eye." Cass told Rhy.
"You're missing a tooth." Rhys told Cass.
"Y/N warded my hand to make it stick to whatever it touches so when I peed, it got stuck to my..." Helion admitted, his voice getting softer towards the end of his sentence.
"Oh, Y/N, no..." Cass said in horror.
"You have got to stop drunk warding things." Rhys added.
You covered your face with your hands in embarrassment.
"This is worse than last time!" Cass exclaimed.
"Our 20 minutes are almost up and we still don't have our story straight. I mean, I don't even know how they knew to come for us. Do you guys?" You exclaimed
Cass and Rhys shook their heads no.
"I think I let them know their assistance would be needed in the morning... but I might have also sent them our breakfast order." Helion explained.
"Breakfast sounds so good right now" Cassian groaned and the rest of you made noises of approval.
"Ok, heres the plan. We pull ourselves together and act like we had a normal night with a normal amount of drinking." Rhys told the rest of you.
"They saw you using a door as a blanket!" You whisper-shouted at him.
"It's not the best plan but its the only plan we've got." He replied in the same tone.
"I think they're coming. Act natural." Cass whisper yelled.
Feyre, Nesta, and Azriel all entered the room and looked around.
You were leaning with your elbow against a wall, resting your hand on your head. Rhys was sitting on the couch with his legs crossed, his ankle resting over his knee while he pretended to be deep in thought. Helion was leaning against a table pretending to read a book. And Cassian was standing in the middle of the room with his eyes wide like a deer in headlights.
"You're all idiots." Nesta deadpanned.
"Rhys, how could you let this happen again?" Feyre spoke dissapointed.
Azriel was quiet so the sisters looked over at him, they were expecting him to scold the group as well. When he didn't, Feyre nudged him.
"Do you have anything to add Az?" She asked him
He was still just smiling at your attempt to be normal and shook his head no.
"I just want to get my mate home as quick as possible." He stated
Everyone snapped their attention to him, even you.
"Mate?" You questioned.
"Mate." he stated with a huge smile, "in the middle of the night, I recieved a breakfast order from Helion. I assumed that meant the four of you were incredibly drunk. I was going to let you have your fun and wait til you got home to poke fun at you but this morning I felt it snap into place."
You walked to each other and he wrapped his arms around you, bringing you in for a kiss. The urge to be close to him was stronger than ever now.
"Let's get home." You told your mate, bringing him in for another kiss.
"Quickly please, before the two of you start devouring each other's faces in front of us" Cass spoke with a gross look, but you knew he was happy for you.
Azriel lifted you up and started flying with you, headed back to the Night Court.
"Do you want me to make you some food once we get home?" Your mate asked you.
"No, I just want to get home as fast as possible. I need you." You told him, his eyes darkening at your insinuation.
"You seem to be feeling much better than when you woke up. I think I truly am the best hangover cure." He joked.
--
After you got home, the frenzy started and lasted a little over a week. Once it calmed a bit, you finally showed up to the River house for a nice family dinner.
Conversation was flowing and that night out got brought up.
"You know, I really don't remember much of that night." Cass said.
"I know everything that happened." Azriel spoke before taking a bite of food.
"WHAT?! How?!" You exclaimed.
"After everything that happened last time, I made sure to send a shadow with you for your safety. It hung back and watched, it would alert me if you were in real danger. Before we showed up to get you guys that morning, it reported back to me what happened the entire night." He spoke so matter of fact.
"Show me." Rhys told the shadowsinger.
You watched as a grimace overtook the High Lord's face, watching your entire night get played in his head.
"Yeah, the three of us aren't allowed to be alone together anymore." Rhys stated with a horrified look on his face.
"We want to know!" Cass complained.
Rhys replayed everything in your and Cass' mind. There was nothing but silence for a few moments.
"I'm deeply sorry." You told Cass with a grimace.
"You pulled my tooth out!" Cass shouted, jumping up.
"In her defense, you did tell her, 'I bet you can't pull my tooth out.'" Rhys added.
Azriel pulled your chair closer to him, wrapping an arm around you. The three of them might be idiots but he loved them and felt grateful for his family.
Let me know if you want to be added to the taglist :)

Supers and Bats
So! Jazz, Danny, Dan, and Ellie are adopted by Clark Kent and Lois Lane after bouncing around the System for a while.
Jazz couldn't legally take care them because she's just an 18 yr old in College and couldn't provide for two 16 yr Olds and a 12 yr Old on her own.
(Dan is in his Post-AGIT Body, so he looks like Danny's Twin Brother, and Ellie is still 12 because she hasn't started Aging yet.)
Anyways, eventually the Fenton Family opens up about their Powers and are accepted into the Super Family. They even Begin acting as Heroes for Metropolis, taking on their own Super names. Like Superkid, Supergal, and Superguy, all lazy but funny names that fit the Family Naming Convention.
And you know the Rule, if you are a Super, you will inevitably end up with your very own Bat.
Obviously Clark adopted Bruce as his Bat. They were the originals, the OG's, they set the precedent.
Kon adopted Tim as his Bat while on YJ, or maybe or was the other way around? They both don't know, since they were both absolutely Messes when they were on that Team. It really could have gone either way.
Jon and Damien have been eachothers Bat/Super since the Day they met. Let's even say Jon never got stuck in that Time Paradox and stays the same age (a gift from peepaw Clocky)
Barbara actually gets Jazz. She's not exactly as Super as the rest of her Family and Adopted Family, but she he up there. And she constantly studies for her Classes at Barbara's Library, so they get to hang out a lot and bond over having to take care of their respective Families.
Danny and Duke get along well, and decide that Danny is now his Super. They started hanging out when Danny decided to become the 2nd Day Shift Hero of Gotham on a whim, cause why is Duke the only one? He splits his time between Metropolis and Gotham but as a Super it's not an inconvenience. They like Joking with eachother on patrol.
Surprisingly Dan and Dick get along very well. Dick used to be extremely Agressive and Violent, and can relate to Dan who has recently begun trying to ugnore his more extreme reactions. They bond over the feeling of not being understood as kids and their shared "Extremely Repressed Anger" emotions. (Dick doesn't have dad instincts shut up jason)
Cass and Steph take one look at "Still a 12 yr old Chaos Gremlin" Ellie and decide that she is theirs now. It's okay, they can share! They absolutely love their brand new Little Sister, and let her be the biggest of Gremlins!
Most people forget but Jason has Bizzaro as his Super, while he is on the Outlaws. Once Ellie hears about Bizzaro's situation, she helps stabilize him using some of Vlad's old Tech. So Bizzaro gets to live in this! Yay!
That's the idea, thoughts?

Trans!Danny is stuck at a gala when his period starts and gets caught unprepared. Thankfully, he finds some girls willing to help him out.
~~<◇>~~
When Vlad made him heir to DALV.Co, Danny knew that he would have to go with him to social events such as the gala they were currently at. That doesn't mean he has to enjoy them though. And he especially wasn't enjoying this one. Of course he had to be in public and without supplies when his period started. So now he had to find someone he could ask for a pad, no matter how mortifying it would be.
Danny scanned the crowd, trying to figure out who would be the least snobby if he tried to talk to them. He decided on two girls about his age who were standing semi away from any large groups. With a sigh and silently grieving his ego, Danny made the walk of shame over to them.
"Excuse me?" The girls snapped to attention when Danny spoke up.
"Oh, hello there!" the blonde greeted, "I don't think I've seen you at one of these before. My names Steph and this is Cass". The dark haired girl, who he now knew as Cass, smiled and waved at him but otherwise didn't speak.
"I'm Danny, it's nice to meet you," Danny fidgeted in place and a hand came up to rub the back of his neck, "Man, there's really no way to ask this that isn't embarrassing..."
Steph regarded him with a raised eyebrow, "You aren't going to ask for our numbers, are you?".
Danny's eyes went wide and he raised his hands in a defensive manner.
"Oh ancients, no. Ah- Not to say that you aren't attractive! You are! I mean, you're both very pretty but I don't swing that way-" He's cut off by airy laughter from Steph and soft chuckles from Cass.
"Relax dude, it's okay. So, your question?"
"Would either of you have and extra pad? Or a tampon? My period started and I don't have anything with me..." Danny flushed and didn't make eye contact as he asked.
Danny nearly sobbed in relief when Cass nodded, discreetly slipped a pad out of her bag, and passed it to him. "Thank you, thank you so much!"
Cass made a 'don't worry about it' gesture and Steph smiled.
Before they could say anything else, a tall man who looked like he could bench press Danny without even breaking a sweat came and interupted.
"Hey, have either of you two seen where Dick went?" He asked the girls.
"Last I saw him was by the refreshments table," Steph informed him. Cass nodded in agreement.
"Thanks," the man said. He then turned and walked off, presumably towards the refreshments table. Danny's eyes followed him as he walked away and- Ancients, that ass! Even the layered suit couldn't hide the clear musculature that made up the mans everywhere. He could step on Danny and Danny would thank him.
Danny only realized he was staring when Steph cleared her throat, an amused look on her face.
"Ah! I wasnt- I mean- I was just-"
"Totally undressing Jason with your eyes?" Steph smirked. Danny flushed and made a hasty retreat.
"WOw, would you just look at the time! I should go uh... take care of this!" He gestured at the pad in his hand. "Yeah! I'm just gonna go."
"Come find us when you're done, we'll introduce you!" Steph called to his fleeing form.
Danny practically flew to the nearest bathroom. As soon as the door was closed he leaned against it and screamed into his hands. He completely embarrassed himself! He could never show his face again! Although...
Images of Jason flashed in his mind. Maybe he would go find those girls again... But first he needed to get this pad on!

Have you considered Tim stealing all potential robins before Bruce even can meet them?
Tim has Janet and Jack take in dick at the circus
dick and Tim out and about meet Jason and whoops new sibling
Cass follows them home and who would say no to a new sister?
Damian is out on the wrong doorstep and no take backs
Jason and Tim tutored Steph and when he noticed her life going to shit? New sister!!!!
A young boy is smart enough to start his own child gang so cute! New brother!!
then one day Bruce from another universe gets dropped in to this one…
Yes yes... however, this AU would call for either two Drakes interaction: the Drakes are amazing fabulous parents who love all of their new kids or they are absent and either don't care or don't know Tim is adopting every sibling he sees. You couldn't reasonable do abusive Drakes in this AU and have all the kids agree to be adopted (Cass would leave and steal everyone else with her).
I'm all for Tim stealing his siblings from Bruce, but another funny AU would be a reverse batkids age order one. Tim, after his parents die at like 12, just makes up a fake guardian for himself. Then Duke's parents get gassed/Duke starts a gang. Tim instantly adopts him as older brother material.
Damian, after seeing Tim trying to help Duke, gets interested in what they are doing. Tim latches on to *another* older brother material (and this one can teach him cool fight moves!)
Cass, who sees Tim helping some people out, decides to follow him. Tim decides younger sister material.
Tim, when out and about, gets hit by a brick in the face? New friend! (You can decide how their relationship progresses)
Tim's doing stupid shit in Crime Alley when he meets a kid who begrudgingly saves Tim's ass? Younger brother material!
They go to the circus and meet a kid recently orphaned? Good thing Tim's "guardian" is so chill with adopting so many siblings :)

hi! i hope your having a good day 😊 you said you were taking requests so i have one if you dont mind! could you do something were az and reader are interrupted after they accept the bond by someone, maybe elain and she's upset and it causes issues? thanks!
Hey,
This is my first request so please be gentle with me if it isn't exactly what you were looking for. Also I'm sorry this sat in my inbox for so long, I wasn't sure exactly how to go about writing this one; I eventually decided on making it as dramatic as possible. 😅 So in true form, this is written mostly from our drama king Rhys' POV but there is some Reader POV fluff at the end. I wasn't sure where you stood with smut, so I've kept it relatively open to interpretation at the end.
Get Out!
Maybe being so secretive about your relationship with Azriel wasn't the best idea after all.

Rhys POV
Rhys adjusted his grip on the blade in his hand as it clashed with Cassian's, the keen of metal against metal filled the training room. Sweat burned his eyes as he heaved air into his lungs. Cassian's grin bordered on feral as they separated, circling each other. Rhys hadn't realised how long it had been since he'd trained properly, but he could feel it in the ache of his muscles.
"Fatherhood making you soft, Rhys?"
Rhys rolled his eyes, hoping that Cassian didn't notice he couldn't muster more of a response between gasped breaths and fending off his attacks. They'd been at it for hours. Cassian was right, in between High Lord duties and trying to spend every possible moment with his son, resolute on not missing a single milestone, Rhys had certainly neglected his training regime. And now his brother was making him pay for it.
A blade whistled dangerously close to his face. Rhys managed to bring his own up in time to stop the blow as the force of it reverberated down his arm. He ducked out of Cassian's reach, staying firmly on the defensive while his brother eyed him with mirth. Cassian made a show of surveying Rhys slowly as he began to advance again, eyes trailing down his body and settling for a moment on the tight muscles of his abdomen. He clucked his tongue in disapproval.
"Just because Feyre loves you, doesn't mean you can let yourself go so much." Rhys dodged as Cassian swung towards his side, levelling him with a strike of his own which was blocked with ease. Cassian smirked at him as their blades locked, Rhys bared his teeth in a snarl as he forced Cassian's blade back.
A gentle caress against the fortress of his mental shields stole his attention away from his brother for a moment. Cassian smacked the flat face of his sword against Rhys' thigh, a strike that would likely leave a nasty bruise. Rhys opened the antechamber in his mind, built like a house of worship over the foundations of his mating bond with Feyre. He managed to send a small, gentle caress in return before he was drawn back to avoiding Cassian's blade.
Rhys, where are you? There was an undercurrent of worry flowing down the bond to him. It took his attention immediately. He signalled to Cassian, lowering his blade and taking a deep breath.
Training with Cass at the House. What's wrong? He was already moving as he answered, racking the blunted practice sword and retrieving his shirt from where it had been tossed earlier in the session. Cassian mimicked his movements before heading to the pitcher of water to pour two glasses.
It's Elain, something's happened.
What?
She's inconsolable. She says...that Y/N attacked her. Surprise sparked in Rhys.
Are you sure? It didn't make any sense. You were so gentle. A junior healer under Madja's tutelage, brought in to assist with Feyre's pregnancy. You'd been visiting the River House regularly to do milestone checks on Nyx. During that time, both he and Feyre had struck up a friendship with you. He'd never seen you so much as raise your voice.
It's all she's said to us, Nesta is furious. Rhys' eyes drifted to where Cassian stood, gulping down his glass of water.
"We're needed at the River House."
Cassian raised a brow at the seriousness of the tone as he moved across the training room towards his brother.
"What happened?"
"Honestly, I'm not sure. But we should get back before Nesta goes on the warpath." Cassian considered for a moment before taking to the skies, seemingly spurred by whatever he felt down his mating bond. Rhys launched himself after his brother before sending a reassuring message to his own mate.
We're on our way.
Elain sat nestled next to Feyre on the sofa. She dabbed at her eyes with a handkerchief as her sister rubbed soothing circles on her back. Nesta was pacing in front of the fireplace, the swish of her dress and hard clack of her heels against the hardwood felt too loud in the otherwise silent room. Rhys stood for a moment in the doorway, assessing the scene in front of him as Cassian passed him to join Nesta. She ignored him, continuing to pace.
Rhys approached his mate and Elain, settling himself on the arm of the sofa at Feyre's side. He casts an assessing gaze over the middle Archeron sister. Her other arm, the one not wiping at her face, was laid in her lap as Feyre held a compress of ice over the wrist.
Rhys let out a low sigh, running his hands through his hair as he worked through possible avenues of action. He reopened his mental connection with Feyre.
Has she said anything else? Feyre turned away from her sister where she sat staring into space.
No, Madja's on her way though. It's strange, she said she hasn't seen Y/N in days, she was supposed to be visiting her family in the Day Court. None of this makes any sense, why would Y/N do this?
Unease sat heavily in Rhys' stomach. Could something have happened to you on your travels? He thought of Braillyn and the manipulation the crown had afforded her over the minds of others. The Dread Trove was safe, was this a different horror Koschei was responsible for? Was he trying to target his family through you? It would make sense, you visited the River House regularly and both he and Feyre had left Nyx unattended in your care on more than one occasion.
He felt Madja's approach as she let herself in, inclining her head towards himself and Feyre where they sat. She settled herself on Elain's other side, reaching for her arm. Feyre moved her hand and the compress away, revealing a slight bruising and swelling on the skin underneath.
"We need to find her, she can't just attack Elain like this." Nesta's voice cut sharp as a blade across the room, Elain's tears starting fresh at her words. Madja lifted her gaze from where she was assessing Elain's wrist, tilting her hand in gentle exercises to assess the range of movement.
"Perhaps you can continue this discussion outside?" Rhys caught the pointed look the healer gave him. He nodded, standing and placing his hand on the small of Feyre's back as she did the same. Nesta watched them for a moment before stomping towards the door; disappearing into the foyer.
Feyre shot him a look, grey-blue eyes filled with worry as they moved to follow her out. Nesta continued to pace outside the room as they shut the door, the low sound of Madja's soothing voice travelling through the wood.
"We have to do something."
"Nesta, we shouldn't do anything rash." Feyre's voice was firm as she addressed her, switching smoothly from comforting sister to High Lady of the Night Court. "Not until we have more information."
"Well she," Nesta gestured towards the closed door and her distressed sister, "isn't saying anything. So I say we find Y/N and get her to tell us what happened."
Rhys was inclined to agree, but held some reservations as to what exactly Nesta deemed an appropriate method of finding out information when it pertained to the middle Archeron sister.
"Feyre's right, we shouldn't be hasty about this." He met Nesta's eyes, filled with burning silver fire. "You're too close to this," he continued. "Why don't you go back to the House, blow off some steam and we'll discuss this later when we know the full story." Cassian moved closer to Nesta's side, a comforting hand on her arm as she stared Rhys down. He watched as she closed her eyes and took a deep breath, then another. Rhys recognised the mind-stilling technique she favoured to keep her grounded.
Her eyes were still bright with anger when she opened them again, but she seemed calmer than she had been before. She gave a small nod. Cassian tucked her under an arm as they made their way to the front door.
"We'll send for you when we know something." Cassian nodded to Rhys over his shoulder but Nesta didn't turn back to look at either of them. The door closed with a thud behind them.
Feyre looked at where her sister and brother-in-law stood a moment before. She turned, making her way down the hall Rhys study.
"What do you think we should do?"
"I'll search the city for her, we could send a note? Ask her to meet us both?" Feyre nodded in agreement.
"We should make contact with Az." Rhys considered, reluctant to disturb his brother when he'd asked for a rare week off to visit his mother in Illyria. The request had been sudden and abrupt. Az had sent word close to midnight a few days prior. He hadn't written much, other than he needed some time away from his duties and that he'd reach out to Rhys later on in the week. He had been concerned at the out of character behaviour, apprehensive that something serious must have happened. Azriel had evaded requests for more information; saying that he'd brief Rhys on his return.
"When we know more," he paused with Feyre on the threshold of the study. "I don't want to call him back when it may turn out to be nothing serious."
Feyre hummed in agreement.
"I just...I don't understand, why would she do something like this? We gave her access to our son, Rhys. She didn't seem..." Feyre trailed off. Before she could continue the sound of a throat clearing came from the kitchen door. They turned in tandem, both sets of eyes fixed on the twins that appeared out of the shadows there.
"We...We think this may be our fault." Nuala's voice was quiet as she spoke for both of them, hands clasped together tightly as they stood before their High Lord and Lady.
"How could this possibly be your fault?" Feyre didn't hide the surprise in her tone. Their dark eyes were unreadable but Rhys didn't miss the glance they both gave towards the closed door where Elain still sat with Madja.
He opened the door to the office, gesturing in invitation to the twins to follow Feyre and him in.
Rhys sat in the high-backed chair behind the desk, Feyre perched on his lap as they listened to Nuala and Cerridwen's tale.
"Azriel instructed us not to tell anyone where he was when he sent word. She saw us putting together a basket, asked us who it was for. We didn't see any harm in telling her we were making it for him," Cerridwen's face was grave as she spoke. "Elain wanted to help, so we baked the bread together. She went to the garden after that, and Nuala left to deliver it."
"I know she didn't follow," Nuala cut in, her voice shaking. "I would have noticed if she had."
"Perhaps she saw where you went in one of her visions?" Feyre supplied. She bestowed her a small comforting smile, Rhys could feel her sympathy for the twins through the bond. They cared about Elain; even without his daemati powers you could read the guilt they shared.
"But it was here? In Velaris?" Rhys asked. Nuala looked at her twin, a silent conversation happening between them, before she nodded her head. Rhys' stomach turned to lead. Azriel had lied to him about where he was. Rhys knew that Azriel had his secrets, maybe more than anyone else in the Inner Circle. But he'd never known him to be overtly dishonest, not with his family.
"What happened after that?" Feyre's voice was gentle as she pushed for more information.
None of this makes any sense.
I know. Feyre squeezed his hand, the one that she had clasped between both of her own beneath the desk, as she sent reassuring waves down the bond.
"We were both preparing lunch after that. We didn't see her again, until you did." Feyre had shown him the memory as he'd flown towards the house. Elain bursting through the front door, arm clutched to her chest and tears streaming down her face. She hadn't said anything as Nesta had taken her into her arms, demanding to know what had happened.
"Would it be possible that Elain met Y/N on the way to...where Azriel is?" Feyre addressed the question to the room but it was Cerridwen that answered her.
"I don't think so, my lady. It's...out of the way, you wouldn't stumble upon it by accident." Rhys didn't miss the look Nuala sent her, dark eyes on fire. Cerridwen sunk back into her chair, realising that perhaps she'd said too much. Rhys pressed though, he couldn't leave it.
"So that would mean that either Y/N followed Elain from the house on purpose or she was there? With Azriel?"He suspected it was the latter, and the twins certainly knew more about it than they were willing to share. They both looked down, pointedly avoiding Rhys' gaze.
"We promised, my lord."
"We could do it together if you want?" Feyre's hand toyed at his neck, tracing the Illyrian tattoos etched into the skin. They'd dismissed Nuala and Cerridwen back to their duties while they discussed the next step to take. They had both agreed that reaching out to Azriel was the best course of action, to follow the lead of his potential involvement before they took any further steps concerning you.
Rhys was torn. He wanted Feyre to be involved, but it felt too personal. Azriel hadn't lied to her. But he had to him, his brother, his High Lord. Azriel, whom he had always trusted. Feyre would moderate his temper, if the need arose, but a dark volatile part of him didn't want that.
A quiet knock sounded on the door. Feyre called out for Madja to enter, already sensing her standing on the other side. Her smile was reassuring as she moved to stand in front of them at the desk.
"A nasty sprain, but no broken bones." Some of the tension seemed to leave Feyre's shoulders as she let out a relieved sigh. "I've recommended she rest it, keep it elevated," Madja continued, "it should be back to normal within a few days."
"Thank you Madja, we appreciate you coming out of you way." Feyre's tone was warm as she spoke to the elderly fae.
"It's my pleasure, my lady."
"Did Elain say anything to you? About what happened?"
Madja frowned, before shaking her head. "Nothing that made much sense. She mentioned a door and being pushed, she didn't say any more than that." Madja took a step closer to the desk, worrying the fabric of the apron she wore between her fingers.
"If I may..." She paused, waiting for further invitation to speak. Rhys gestured with a hand for her to continue.
"I've known Y/N since she was a girl," Madja's voice wavered as she spoke, in all the years Rhys had known her he'd never seen her close to tears before. "She wouldn't do something like this it's not in her nature," Madja paused before quickly adding, "not to discredit your sister, High Lady." Rhys watched Feyre as she caught her bottom lip between her teeth as she listened to the healer.
"This situation is highly unusual, Madja. We need to speak to the parties involved, gather more information." Rhys speech was clinical, playing High Lord rather than concerned brother-in-law.
"I'll take my leave then."
I should see to Elain. Feyre slipped off his lap with a parting brush of her lips against his cheek before following Madja out of the room. Rhys rested his elbows on the desk in front of him and lowered his head into his hands.
After taking a few minutes to collect himself Rhys began using his power to comb through the city, brushing past the minds of his citizens as they went about their daily lives. It took longer than he thought, identifying the distinct signature of his brother, as recognisable to him as his own after 500 years. Cloistered on the outskirts of the city, the surrounding land reserved for farming crops with very few residences. He felt another presence there, one less familiar to him, yours.
Rhys brushed a talon against Azriel's mental shields, a teeming cluster of darkness not unlike the shadows he wielded, and waited. The tick of the clock as the seconds passed by had Rhys on edge, he was considering pushing again, this time more firmly, when the shadows created a small opening just big enough for him to slip through.
Rhys didn't bother with a greeting. His mental voice was harsh, more than he meant it to be, as it reverberated around the dark antechamber.
You have ten seconds to explain why you are not in Illyria, and why my mate is consoling her injured sister before I come and find you, and we have this conversation in person. Conversation was a very polite term to use for what would inevitably become a battle of wills, and potentially blades, between the High Lord and his Spymaster.
Don't you fucking dare, Rhys. Azriel's voice was ice. The hostile rage that bubbled underneath shook Rhys out of his own for a moment. It was like its own living thing, driven by base instincts to defend against a threat at all costs. The force of it almost pushed him out. Rhys bridled his own surprise and rage down.
Okay, Rhys' voice was soothing, carried on a night-kissed wind. I won't do that Az, but you need to talk to me.
The storm of Azriel's emotions seemed to calm a little, Rhys could feel the effort he was putting in, wrestling for control that was usually so militant. He waited for his brother to speak for a few moments before continuing.
Why don't you start with where you are, and why Nuala and Cerridwen are involved?
He thought that Azriel was going to hold fast in his reticence. Instead his voice, missing some of the frigid quality it had before, answered after a few beats.
I own a property on the outskirts of the city, I've been here since I sent word asking for leave. Azriel paused before continuing, Nuala and Cerridwen were just doing what I asked, they don't need to be a part of this. Rhys should have expected this. Azriel always knew how to toe the line between answering what was asked without giving any substantial information.
And what is it that you asked them to do for you? Because they wouldn't tell us, because of some promise they made to you.
They delivered some supplies to me.
Supplies?
Food and other basic necessities.
And is there a reason you couldn't retrieve these for yourself? Why you're sequestered away in some property we're unaware of with one of our healers? Rhys tried to press against the walls of Azriel's mind to see what else he could feel or sense but it yielded nothing. Are you injured Az? Worry bloomed. As out of character as it was for Azriel to lie to his family, if it was because he was injured and didn't want any of them to know, to worry, Rhys could rationalise that.
No. Rhys could feel Azriel's attention, drawn away to whatever was going in outside his mind, still only half maintaining their communication. Is Elain okay?
Are you talking to Y/N? I know she's there with you.
Azriel hesitated before answering. Yes.
Elain is saying that Y/N attacked her, is that true? Did you see what happened?
I did, but it was an accident Rhys. She didn't mean to.
She says she was pushed. I'm not sure how that can be considered an accident, Azriel. Rhys tried to keep a handle on his agitation, but this conversation was going nowhere quickly. Why don't you show me what happened, then we can put this whole thing to bed.
A tidal wave rose, angry and biting as it chased Rhys towards the gap in the barrier he entered from. Rhys retreated back from it, shocked by it's sudden appearance.
No. Azriel's snarled response rebounded around his head.
Fine, I'll take it up with Y/N if this is how you're going to act.
Wait, don't. The emotion receded as quickly as it came, leaving Rhys toeing the edge of the empty chamber. Leave her out of this Rhys, it's my fault.
Oh? She's assaulted a member of our Court, Azriel.
She's my mate, Rhys. Rhys thought for a moment that he hadn't heard him correctly. But it made sense, the instinctual frenzy of emotion that seemed eager to slip his brother's control. We didn't tell you in the beginning, we wanted to get to know each other without any added...pressure.
Az, this is wonderful news...unexpected but wonderful. But we wouldn't have pressured you, either of you, into anything.
I know, I just...I was being selfish, Rhys. And we were so caught up in each other. I said I'd talk to you when I got back, I was going to tell you then. Rhys didn't hide the happiness he felt, letting his brother feel it freely, It was a bit spur of the moment, deciding to accept the bond. That's why I asked Nuala and Cerridwen for help, they knew where we were.
I'm happy for you, Az. Rhys allowed himself to bask for a moment in the joy that he could feel from his brother as he spoke about you. A part of him wanted to leave then, to retreat from his brother's mind and leave him to enjoy this special, if volatile time, as a newly mated male. But there was still a piece of this puzzle missing. What happened with Elain?
It is my fault Rhys, I should have sensed her coming. But we were preoccupied. Azriel's discomfort put Rhys own teeth on edge as he continued. We were in the living room and Elain opened the door, Y/N panicked and slammed it with gust of wind.
Panicked?
We were...indisposed.
You're joking, Rhys barely managed to choke the words out as he tried to contain his laughter.
Its not funny, Rhysand. He could almost see his brother grinding his teeth in agitation. By the time we made ourselves decent, Elain had already left. I was going to come to the house to see if she was okay, but Y/N is really upset that she may have hurt her. Rhys understood what he didn't say, that he couldn't leave his mate like that.
Tell her it's just a sprain, nothing serious.
That's a relief. If we're done here- Rhy's didn't allow Azriel to finish, already taking his leave.
Rhys watched the sun set set over the Sidra as he ruminated on the strange events the day had taken, and how he was going to defuse the tension from this morning before Azriel returned, likely with Y/N in tow.
Your POV
Steam curled into the air from the water of the bath. The heat soothed the ache in your muscles, ones that you didn't even know you had were making their displeasure known, as you adjusted your position to lean back against Azriel. His arm slipped around your middle, pulling you flush against his chest as scarred fingers traced circles over your midriff. You sighed in contentment as Azriel continued his ministrations, feeling his smile against the skin of you neck. He brushed the sensitive skin with a delicate kiss. Neither of you spoke as you sat there, enjoying the comfortable silence and basking in the feeling of the new golden thread that tied you together.
Azriel reached to the edge of the tub where the basket of toiletries lay, filled with your favourite scents curtesy of the shadow wraith twins, and grabbed a soft cloth and a bar of sweet smelling soap. You groaned as he began to gently massage the lather on the cloth into the skin of arms and shoulders, adjusting slightly to give him better access. You turned your head, resting it in the cradle of Azriel's shoulder, looking up at him through your lashes.
Over the few months that you'd known him, you'd come to admire his stoic beauty. Rich hazel eyes framed by thick lashes and dark brows. His sharp features and full lips that erupted butterflies in your stomach every time he gifted you with an alluring smile or tantalising smirk. As your relationship had progressed he'd become more open is displaying his emotions with you, less prone to cloaking himself in his shadows. But you'd never in that time seen such open contentment displayed on his features.
You watched as his eyes tracked the path his hand drew with the cloth against your body. You brought a hand out of the warm cocoon of the water to trace the map of markings across his shoulders, following the trail up his neck with tender kisses. Azriel's chest rumbled his approval. The flare of his wings sent ripples across the surface of the bath as you let a soft breath out against the delicate shell of his ear.
"It appears my little mate is rather insatiable." Azriel sighed, feigning exasperation as he moved the cloth lower, down off your shoulders to brush the top of your breasts.
"I have no idea what you're talking about." The hand on his shoulder reached to brush a single fingertip against the sensitive membrane of a wing as you smirked into his neck.
"Careful." Azriel growled, taking the circles he was tracing on your midriff dangerously lower. Even though the past few days had been filled with nothing but Azriel, the feel of his skin against yours, the taste of him on your tongue, there was a burning pit of desire that demanded more. You felt as though you could live a thousand more years and never tire of the feeling of him holding you in his arms. The thought of leaving the little bubble of bliss you'd created here was like a cold water shock. Thinking of the potential repercussions you'd face of what happened earlier left the sting of bile in the back of your mouth.
Azriel's hands stilled as he sensed the shift in your mood. You buried your face into his neck, closing your eyes and letting his scent calm your racing heart. Azriel abandoned the cloth to place his hand on the back of you head, carting his fingers through your hair. He made a low soothing noise.
"It's okay," he continued to massage his fingers against your scalp as he spoke. "It was an accident, no one is going to blame you."
"Elain will, she probably hates me." Your voice broke as you tried to hold back the guilt that had been plaguing you, such a start contrast to the joy and ravenous hunger.
"She'll understand. The others will too, Rhys actually found it very amusing."
"Oh cauldron boil me." You could imagine it now, the smirking good natured jibes from the high-lord and the likely even less subtle innuendos his general would deal out to you.
"Come on," the fingers dancing through your hair stopped. "Look at me." Part of you wanted to continue to hide as the anxiety and embarrassment coiled inside of you, but as Azriel moved to cup your cheek you lifted your face away to look at him. His eyes were soft as he took in your face, so close that you could see flecks of green and gold constellating around the iris. His thumb rubbed gently against you cheek.
"I just want to stay here for the rest of our lives." Azriel smiled gently and hummed his agreement, leaning forward to press his lips against the skin of your forehead.
"Unfortunately, I think we'll be missed." He considered for a moment before adding. "And I wouldn't put it past Cassian to break down the door and drag me back to civilised society." You loosed a small smile at his attempt to make light of the situation, but it still did nothing to quell the apprehension and doubts.
You'd so desperately wanted to make a good impression. It had all been planned out. After the week was done; once you and Azriel had returned to your normal lives, he would have announced the mating bond to his family. You'd planned to host a dinner, let them get to know you outside your capacity as a healer. Hoped to create the foundations for meaningful relationships. Instead, you'd ruined it before you'd even started, injuring the High Lady's sister and forcing Azriel to do damage control on your behalf.
"I'm just...I'm sorry Az, I know how important your family is to you. I can't believe I've screwed this up."
"They are important to me." He agreed, thumb stroking gently against your face. "But so are you. I've waited centuries to find you, and you're so much more than I dreamed you'd be." Tears welled in your eyes at his declaration. "I love you, and I know my family will love you too." You reached up to capture his lips in a delicate kiss, despite the gravity of the situation feeling his lips quirk into a smile against your own made your heart sing. You parted, and he began to trail kisses across your cheek.
"Rhys and Feyre already like you, they trust you with Nyx. Everyone else will fall victim to your charming smile and witty sense of humour, I'm sure." He murmured in your ear as he traced his nose against the soft skin of your neck.
"We'll face them together when the time comes." He whispered the promise into your skin as he paved a line of tender kisses to a particularly sensitive spot he'd discovered in the last few days, taking extra care to pay it the most attention.
You sighed and arched your back, allowing him greater access to your neck and chest. Azriel's affirmations had quelled the storm within you, leaving heat and hunger in the wake of his lips.
"But, we've got a few days before anyone is expecting us back. And I have plans for you." Azriel's voice turned husky at the end, the heady promise made your toes curl as you pressed yourself closer against him.
"Oh?" You breathed as his lips began to chart a course across your chest, skimming across the tops of your breasts. You felt more than heard as he hummed an affirmation against the delicate skin. "And what would those plans be?"
Azriel's wings flared as your hand found his hair, winding the strands between your fingers. He stopped lathing delicate kisses against your skin to look up at you through dark lashes, eyes light and mischievous. His grin was positively wicked, canines flashing in the light.

A Snippet From A Story I May Never Finish
"Star Light, Star Bright, First Star I See Tonight"
Summary/Context: Duke, Sam and Danny are friends from college. Sam and Duke are forced to go to a gala by their perspective families and decide the best way to survive it is to have Danny come with them. Danny is currently "hosting" Dani's core because she became unstable. AND GO!
Duke was fidgeting. The worst part about it was that he knew what he was doing, how obvious he was being with his nerves, but he couldn't make himself stop. Bat training couldn't save him from having to look at the boy he had a crush on all dressed up for a gala in a suit and makeup and oh god he was going to actually die.
“Breathe,” he said to himself quietly. He’d dressed in a maroon suit that Alfred suggested, since he was the only one in the family he’d take fashion advice from. Tim was a skater boy who would wear converse everywhere if allowed, Dick’s Discowing era spoke for itself, Steph liked to have fun with her fashion, and Cass liked to be comfortable.
He shuddered to think what would have happened if he let Jason dress him. He’d look like the cover of a cheesy romance novel, open white shirt and all.
The door to their apartment building opened to reveal Sam in what was the most color Duke had ever seen her in. Her dress was a fitted black number with light purple accents and big sleeves. She seemed to glide instead of walk, but maybe that was just how form fitting it was. “You like?” She twirled a little and Duke was surprised to see flats under her dress.
“You look beautiful. It's almost like you’ve done this before,” he joked.
Sam’s smile turned predatory. “Oh, you haven't seen nothing yet. Danny is just touching up his hair.”
Speak of the…Duke’s brain short circuited before he could finish the thought. His mouth went dry and his hands started to sweat because he couldn't stop looking. He must have been so obvious but holy shit.
Danny grinned cheekily, when had he gotten that close?, the light reflecting off the glittery star’s he’d laid over his freckles and the chrome eyeshadow he wore. “I see someone is star-struck,” he joked. Sam groaned at the pun, but it wasn't too far off. Danny liked to play with clothing and gender sometimes and Duke was so glad tonight was one of them. He’d gone for basic black dress pants but his shirt was made of thick black lace embroidered with small jewels, making his torso look like the night sky. Danny had completed his starry look with a series of earrings that dangled over his shoulder.
“You two make me feel underdressed.”
Danny’s grin softened into a real smile. “Don't worry, you look great. I know I'm going to get a lot of stares, so why not give them something to look at?”
Duke wasn't normally the possessive type, but in that moment he desperately wanted to bundle Danny up until no one would be able to see him. People would be looking at Danny tonight and that made something ugly twist in his stomach. “You look beautiful. Is that okay to say?”
Danny's cheeks pinked dramatically and he waved a hand between them. “It's fine, um, I like it?” He looked at Sam who was clearly laughing at them. “Oh, shut up.”
“You look beautiful too, Sam. I love your dress.”
“Thank you,” she said through her giggles. “I'm so glad we invited Danny to this thing, it’ll be a riot.”
“I said shut up,” Danny whined and put his face in his hands. “I hate you.”
“I know, that's why we broke up. Because you couldn't stand me anymore.”
“No, we broke up because I realized I was gay and you decided you didn't want a romantic relationship anyway.”
“Ah, yes, that's why you ended up cuddling with Tucker so much.”
Danny honestly looked like he couldn't decide if he wanted to die or kill Sam more. “I take it back, we broke up because I hate you and don't want to be near you anymore.”
Duke barely let himself have the thought before offering Danny his arm, which thankfully the other boy took. “I’ll protect you from the evil goth.”
Danny tilted his head and peered up at him through his lashes. “Who says she's the evil one?”
Fuck.
Duke rolled his eyes at his brother and looked back at his friends, hoping to catch one of their eyes so he could make a face. Not that Dick would truly be offended, but it was one way to entertain themselves. “Hold on,” he said when he saw Mr. Masters walking over to them and how tense they got.
“What is it?” Dick’s voice dropped his teasing tone and he started looking around.
Duke didn't respond and started moving closer, taking up a position next to the food so he could eavesdrop without tipping off Masters. Sam shook her head at him, so he didn't think he'd need to intervene, but at least he was there.
“-Little Badger, how is the little bug?” Even Masters’ voice was slimy and set off all of Duke's instincts. “I haven't heard from you since you left.”
“That's none of your business, Vlad,” Danny said. His voice was full of protective venom and a quick glance revealed that he was angling himself away from Masters and had a hand on his stomach. Did Masters know about the baby?
“I helped make her so yes, it is my business.”
Did he just—?
“You forced her on me,” Danny hissed and Duke swore he saw red. His fists clenched as he tried to breathe through his nose, fully turning and giving up on the illusion. “You don't get to just waltz over her like you're anything more than a fruit loop.” He looked like he was ready for a fight, hands clenched and anger burning in his eyes, but his voice was trembling.
Sam stepped closer to him for support and Danny actually seemed to lean on her. Like he needed someone there.
“Come now, Daniel, don't be like that. How will you take care of her by yourself?” Masters stepped more into Danny’s space, looking down on him with something resembling a smile. He reached up and touched Danny's hair. “You have no job, you have school, and I doubt Samantha’s parents will help you when they hear about it. You need me.”
There were very few rules when it came to galas, mostly that they try not to cause a scene that will ruin Wayne Industries and that if they have to punch someone, make it count. So when Duke shoved his way between Danny and the creep that was touching him, that it sounded like—that—, he made his punch count.
Masters slammed into the floor, catching someone's foot on the way down and making them stumble. He was already holding his jaw and his eyes almost looked red in the light from how angry he was.
Duke didn't even give him time to speak, stepping closer to more easily block Danny from view. Sam had already pulled him into a hug, so Duke could be the bodyguard. “Get. Out.”
Masters practically growled in anger, sitting up a bit as he poked at his jaw, the bruise forming slowly and Duke was proud to see it would be horrible. “Excuse me. Who do you think you are? What is the meaning of this? Where is security?”
Duke could see Bruce already pushing through the crowd with his worried face on but all that mattered was the hand that fisted in his shirt, the huff of breath and the press of a body behind him. Danny. “I said what I said.”
“Duke? What's going on?” Bruce seemed lost and half slipped into his Batman voice, turning the questions into “report” without meaning to.
Duke liked to keep up the illusion that he was the normal one, the good child that didn't cause unnecessary issues, but he would burn the world if it meant Danny would stop trembling right then. “Who I am doesn't matter, what matters is that you were harassing my friend and you will never get near him again.”
Bruce asked again. “Duke?”
He ignored him. Instead, he turned around until he could wrap his arms around Danny and check over his face. Pale, shaking, and probably half a second away from a panic attack. “I’ll explain later, Bruce, we're leaving.”
“You assaulted me!” Masters cried as his shoes scuffed on the floor, probably trying to stand. “I’ll have you arrested.”
Sam opened her mouth, looking ready to spit fire at the man, but it was Danny who spoke. Quietly, and broken, but still. “Drop it, Vlad. Please.”
The world froze for a second before there was a sigh. “As you wish, Little Badger. We can talk about the company you keep later.”
Duke forced himself not to react as he tucked Danny more security under his arm, letting Sam trail behind them as he got them through the mess of gala attendees. Apparently his face was threatening enough that the crowd pretty much parted around them as they moved, or maybe they just knew it wasn't worth getting in the way of a determined Wayne.
“Should I run ahead a grab a car?” Sam asked quietly, her eyes never leaving the doors to the hall.
“It's fine,” Duke assured her. “Alfred will probably be waiting for us at the door. Can you get our jackets?”
She nodded sharply and moved ahead to the coat check while he glanced down at Danny. Most of what he could see was dark hair since he’d pressed his entire face into Duke's chest, trusting him to guide them, but the hands gripping his shirt weren't so tight anymore now that they were away from Masters.
“Danny? Can you let go for a second so we can get your jacket on?”
There was a crackling noise and Duke thought he might be trying to talk, but Danny just nodded. He dropped his arms, but since Sam wasn't back quiet yet, Duke grabbed the hand he could reach and held it.
“I'm so sorry you had to deal with that.” Duke wasn't sure if Danny was able to hear him right now, but he knew someone talking usually helped when he was having an attack. “I understand if you don't want to come to galas with us anymore, but if you do I will personally make sure he isn't invited or allowed in to any you go to. Though if he does show up, I’ll probably go full bodyguard for you again and I really wish I could have punched him again.”
Danny snorted. “My hero,” he said and if it wasn't for the laughter, Duke would think it was sincere.
Either way, Duke felt his face heat up and was glad his coloring meant it wasn't noticeable. It got worse when Danny started playing with the hand that Duke had been holding his with, almost massaging it. It felt nice, and helped relieve some of the tension that was lingering from the punch.
A cleared throat broke them out of the moment as Sam came back with their jackets. “I saw what I assume is Mr. Wayne's car pull up outside. We're good to go.”
“The cops aren't going to arrest Duke, are they?” Danny pulled away enough to be able to put on his jacket and barely left him enough time for Duke to put on his own before sliding back under his arm. “I mean, Vlad won't press charges if I ask him not to.”
“Don't worry about it, starlight, Bruce can take care of it. I don't like the idea of you talking to him again.”
Danny stared at him and for a second, Duke thought he did something wrong before Danny's whole face lit up. “Starlight?”
Sam giggled as she headed for the door, pulling ten along behind her. “He's not wrong, have you seen what you're wearing right now?”
“And if you hate it—”
Danny ducked his head back until Duke's chest, muffling his response slightly but the denial was still understandable. “No, I like it.”
“Then that's your new nickname. I refuse to call you anything else,” Duke teased back. He waved when they caught sight of Alfred and helped Danny climb into the car.
“Where to, Master Duke?”
He paused before getting in the car and gave Sam a questioning look from where she had slid to pull Danny into a hug. She shook her head and looked down at Danny, biting her lip. “Somewhere safe.”
“To the manor then,” Alfred offered and waited for Duke to nod before gesturing for him to climb in after his friends.
Once the door was shut, Duke buckled himself in and reclined against the seats. “Well, that's one way to make a dramatic entrance.”
Danny laughed as he leaned against Sam but it quickly turned into sobbing. He curled up in his head and his hands gripped his hair tightly as he cried, despite Sam's best efforts to stop him. “Why can't he just leave me alone? That's all I ever wanted and he keeps popping up and finding me, how did he find me? I thought Tucker—”
“Why don't I call Tucker and he can check all of your security? Then you can talk to him and know he's okay,” Sam offered and Danny seemed to relax a little with the idea. “Go cuddle with Duke while I call him, okay?”
Danny looked back and forth between them for a second, like he wasn't sure, so Duke opened his arms invitingly. “Only if you're okay with it, starlight. But cuddles sound really nice right about now.”

Battlefield Confessions (Cassian x Reader)
Just a short one to get the writing juices flowing again, it's been a tough week!
I'm (very slowly) getting to all my requests and I'm so sorry it's taken me so long! I've loved all the ideas so much but have been in the middle of moving and a heap of other drama so been a bit distracted lately.
Anyway, I couldn't not write about a mid-fight love confession so here it is!
Enjoy 🥰
Word Count: 1,050
You and Cassian had been treading around one another for years. It was always a situation of right person, wrong time, and a constant will-they-won’t-they amongst your friends. It wasn’t until a heated screaming match in the middle of the battle against Hybern where Cassian was berating you about risking yourself to protect him from an unnoticed Hybern soldier that it all came out.
“It was a stupid, reckless move, Y/N. You could’ve gotten yourself killed.” Cassian had shouted as he slammed his sword down into an approaching soldier, pulling you back as he did so.
“Funny that, coming from you,” Barely jumping out of the way as another solider advanced, flipping your dagger into him as he stumbled against Cassian’s hold. “Aren’t you the one who had your wings shredded, and then had all your organs hanging out a few months later? Not to mention all the times when—"
“Alright, got your point,” Cassian panted in a moment of reprieve as he eyed the battlefield. “Doesn’t change the fact that you risking yourself for me is not worth it and goes against every order you’ve been given, from both Rhys and myself. Don’t do it again.”
“It’s not up you to decide what I think is worth risking… On your left.” You shouted at the sudden appearance of a small cluster of soldiers that sent Cassian’s Siphons blazing, the red light blasting into the majority of the group, leaving the rest as easy pickings for the two of you as you fought against them. “As I was saying,” You panted, “I’ll decide if I think you’re worth it or not and, as it happens, I do, so stop complaining.”
He let out a scoff at your words, shaking his head and contemplating sending you back to the row of tents to help the healers to get you out of the fray if this was how you were going to act. Before he could say as much, he just had time to push you aside as a soldier snuck up on the two of you and raised his sword behind your back. Cassian was quick in disarming him, sending his lifeless body to the ground as he reached out a hand to help you up.
“You alright?”
“Yeah,” Your voice was a bit breathless, but you blinked the shock away as Cassian quickly looked you over for any injuries. “I’m fine, Cass.”
“Okay, okay. Look, I need you to go check in on the others. Find Madja, ask her if she needs any assistance.”
Anger bubbled inside of you as you realised what he was doing.
“I’m not leaving.”
“Y/N…” He gave you a look, the look he usually reserved for out of line soldiers, but you knew him, knew it was just a tactic to try to get you to listen.
“No. I’m not one of your soldiers, you can’t just order me away because you don’t think I’m capable enough.”
“Y/N, you know that I know you’re more than capable. But right now, I need you off the field, it’s a liability having you here.”
“A liability?” Your voice was cold as you looked over the male in front of you. “After everything that we’ve been through, everything I’ve done to prove… How dare you say that to me.” If it weren’t for the battle raging around you, you were certain that tears would be welling in your eyes.
“No, that came out wrong. Look, it’s just—"
But you weren’t listening, didn’t want to listen as he came up with whatever excuse he had forming.
“It’s just what, Cassian?” You were yelling now, glaring at the General with fire in your eyes as the sounds of the battle muffled against the growing tension.
Cassian looked as though he had a battle of his own raging through his head as he glared back, finally muttering “fuck it” as he marched over to you. Unsure of what he was doing, you pulled yourself to your full height, ready to fight if he was going to attempt forcing you to leave. But as Cassian stopped in front of you, close enough that your chests were almost touching, the look in his eyes had you balking. He reached for you then, one hand cupping your cheek and the other playing with the end of your braid. And as he crashed his lips to yours, your body went utterly still, unexpected shock taking over all of your senses.
He pulled back, looking you over before saying “it’s just that,” he repeated from earlier, “I am so utterly and completely in love with you that the thought of you being out here is a liability because I can only focus on what you’re doing, where you are, if you’re okay. My head isn’t in this battle while you’re here with me, so I need you to go.” You stared at him before being pulled aside, your ears met with the sound of clashing swords as another assault of Hybern soldiers were released on you. The bodies piled up around you, leaving you gasping for breath and wiping blood from your hands.
“That,” Cassian panted, “is why I need you to get out of here. I was so distracted I only just saw them approach, another second and it would’ve been too late.”
You pressed up onto your toes, stretching until your lips met his in a hurried, frantic kiss. “Well, I’m definitely not leaving now.” You said against his mouth.
“Y/N…”
“I love you too, idiot. And you’re stupid if you think I’m going to leave your side after that.”
He knew there was no arguing with you, that it would be a waste of energy and even more of a distraction from what was happening around him. Instead, Cassian squeezed your hand as he said, “Let’s just get this over with,” shoulders rolling as he observed the fight around you.
“Let’s. Then we can go home and finally act on this. I knew you liked me.” Despite the battle and death piling around you, a cheeky smile graced your features
Cassian rolled his eyes at your wink, unable to contain the smile that tugged at his mouth. Even in the middle of a war you found ways to make him laugh and he couldn’t wait until this was all over and the two of you could finally stop beating around the bush and start a life together.
***** As always, please send me any requests you have or just drop in for a chat 🥰

A Promise Unyielding || Dabi x fem!reader
Summary: During a night patrol, you find yourself being pulled into a dim alleyway by your villainous boyfriend
Warnings: smut w/o plot
Word count: 1820
Authors: Cass & Rouge
During one of the night patrols, Dabi decided to simply snatch you off the street and pull you into a dark alleyway. "Look at you! Dressed so nicely. My little hero," Dabi purred, wrapping arms around your waist as he pressed you against a cold wall.
You looked shocked at Dabi, your hands instinctively grabbing onto his shoulders for support. "What are you doing?" You asked, your voice trembling with disbelief. "Brrr! Cold!"
"Oh, now you pretend to feel cold? Somehow you didn't whine like that the last time we fucked outside," Dabi chuckled, pushing his knee between your legs, parting them wider. "I missed my little hero. Don't tell me you didn't miss me."
Your cheeks flushed with a deep blush as you heard his words, and your heart raced in response. And then, as his knee pushed in between your thighs, a wave of desire and anticipation coursed through you. "Dabi..." You wrapped your arms around his neck, pulling him closer. Your bodies pressed together, intensifying the electrifying connection between you as you desperately started planting kisses on his jawline.
His hand grasped on your hip tightly, he picked you up, pressing you more against the wall.
"Is that all you can say to me now? Or are we playing a hero and a bad, bad villain, huh?” Dabi purred, kissing your neck while his hands started working on getting rid of the costume you wore. "You look so pretty in it but I prefer you without too many clothes on."
You blushed deeply at his words, feeling the heat rise to your cheeks. It was remarkable how Dabi possessed this uncanny ability to make you flush with just a single word spoken. His presence had a way of igniting a fire within you that you couldn't easily extinguish. "Not... here," you whispered, your voice barely audible as he began to work on your clothes. A mixture of excitement and apprehension coursed through you, and the thought of being caught in such an intimate act fueled your desires.
Dabi laughed shortly, hands moving along your back. "Not here? And why is that?" He muttered lowly, close to your ear. "What? Are you worried your hero friends will witness you getting fucked by a villain? Are you worried they will find out you are just a bad guy's slut?”
"T-they won't understand..." You whispered quietly, shivering under his every touch.
"Not that they would ever understand," he rolled his eyes. "The minimum we can offer is a small spectacle. Don't you agree, doll?" Dabi hummed, slowly removing the lower part of your gear.
You parted your lips, holding tightly onto his neck. "You'll be the death of me one day." You kissed his jaw again, soon aiming for his lips.
Dabi suddenly set you back on the ground and kneeled between your legs, putting one of them over his shoulder. "Oh, I don't think you deserved a kiss yet." Fortunately, with your costume, gaining access to your undergarments was a simple task. Two of his fingers pressed into the soft fabric of your panties. "Look at that. So against it yet my little doll is already wet, just for me. Interesting."
You slipped your hands into his black, spiky hair, relishing the soft texture as your fingers entwined in the strands. His hair felt slightly rebellious, matching his edgy demeanor. "Oh my Gosh," you whispered, barely moving your lips. "Please, I need you to fuck me, I won't hold it any longer... Do I sound like a needy whore? God, I hope I don't..."
"Oh, you do sound like this," Dabi teased and soon moved your panties to the side. Rough pads of his fingers pressed to your clit. "You sound like my needy, little, slut."
Right after those words, his fingers moved lower, gently prodding at your tight entrance as his lips wrapped around the sensitive bundle of nerves.
You arched your back, putting one of your hands over your mouth to muffle your moans. Dabi skillfully maneuvered, guiding you with a finesse that made it feel as though you were an instrument in his hands. Every touch, every caress, was orchestrated with precision, evoking a symphony of pleasure that resonated deep within you. "Can you stop teasing me?" You whimpered. "I want your cock in. Now."
Dabi frowned and pulled away, placing hands on your hips. "Do I need to remind you that I am the one in charge here? If you piss me off, I'll leave you here all alone and needy."
You looked down at Dabi, nodding your head. "S-sorry, Dabi..."
"That's my doll," Dabi praised you and dived back between your legs. His tongue licked and pushed into your entrance while his fingers pinched your clit.
To get some more friction, you tried to buck your hips back and forth, grinding your pussy over his face; soft moans escaping your parted lips.
He growled and pulled away. "You're really annoying tonight. Fucking needy whore."
Dabi got up to his feet and immediately turned you around so you faced the wall. "Telling me what to do, moving when I didn't allow you to." All you could hear was the sound of him unfastening his pants. "I wanted to make my doll feel good but fine. I’m gonna fuck you like the slut you are."
He pressed you hard against the cold wall and then pushed his hard cock into your tight pussy from behind with a low growl.
"Fuck," you moaned quietly. The way Dabi made you feel was overwhelming, like an intoxicating wave crashing over you. Every touch, every whispered word sent shivers down your spine and ignited a fire within your soul. The intensity of your connection was almost too much to bear, but you couldn't resist diving deeper into this all-encompassing sensation. It was a blissful chaos that consumed you entirely. One of your hands slipped between your thighs to rub little circles over your pussy. "Fuck, ohm, yes, yes! So good! Fuck me!"
"You really want me to fucking stop, don't you?” Dabi scolded you and grabbed your busy hand to pin it over your head. He didn't stop himself from using his quirk to slightly burn your wrist as a punishment. "You will never learn that I am the only one that can touch you."
His other hand moved from your hip to your abdomen, pressing hard on your skin to add the nice pressure to the place where his cock created a bulge. Dabi made sure he kept the hard and fast pace so you could feel every inch of his dick and how deep he was reaching.
You moaned loudly as Dabi quickened his pace, your voice echoing in the alley as pleasure surged through every fiber of your being. The intensity of the moment intensified, building up like a wildfire, as he expertly pushed us both towards the edge of ecstasy. The sounds of your passion mingled in the air, creating a symphony of desire; the sound of skin slapping against skin was almost enough to send you over the edge. "F-forgive me, Dabi! It's... So good! I couldn't stop myself!"
"I knew heroes were pathetic but you, doll?" He groaned, grabbing your chin to make you look at him. "I thought I trained you well, yet you still do stuff like this."
Hand from your abdomen swiftly moved to your clit to pinch it before he started to rub fast circles over it.
His chest pressed against your back, pressing you even harder to the wall as his thrusts became even faster. "C'mon, you little slut. Come for me, come on my cock. Fuck," he growled, getting a bit overhelmed by the nice feeling of your walls tightening around him.
"Fuck!" You let out a weak moan, your legs trembling under the force of his hard thrusts. The intensity of your connection overwhelmed you, sending waves of pleasure coursing through your body. Each powerful movement left you gasping for air, completely consumed by the raw passion between the two of you. Your lips went dry and even running your tongue's top over them wasn't helping at that point. "D-Dabi! Harder! Fuck, harder!" You pleaded, your eyes welling up with tears as you glanced at him, hoping he would understand.
With an eye roll he grabbed your hips and increased the pace, fucking you even harder and faster than before. His grip was so strong that he expected your skin to have a nice souvenir for a few days. Dabi groaned from time to time, feeling himself getting closer.
You reached your peak, your body trembling with pleasure despite the lingering pain from the small burn on your wrist and the intense sensations radiating from within your pussy as Dabi continued to thrust in you hard. The sheer ecstasy consumed you, overpowering any discomfort, as wave after wave of pleasure crashed over you, leaving you breathless and utterly lost in the moment; the only thing to escape your lips was Dabi's name.
"Fuck!" Dabi growled and he shot warm ribbons of cum deep inside you.
Just for a moment Dabi rested his forehead against your shoulder, trying to catch his breath.
His palms let go of your hips and moved up your belly to hug you tightly from behind. "My little hero slut. Such a good girl,” Dabi purred against your ear before giving it a playful bite.
After Dabi pulled out of you, you turned in his arms, a sense of intimacy and contentment enveloping you both.
Taking a moment to adjust and improve your gear, particularly the pants, you then wrapped your arms around him, savoring the warmth of his embrace. Nuzzling against him, you placed gentle kisses along his shoulders and the nape of his neck, cherishing the closeness. "I love it when you go rough on me..."
Dabi pulled his pants back up and made himself look presentable again. "Yeah but I don't like when you act bratty," he scolded you and then smacked your ass hard. "Next time I really will leave you in such a state." Dabi warned.
You kissed his nape, inhaling his scent. "I promise to be a good girl, Toya."
He chuckled lowly. "Oh, we'll see how long you're gonna keep that promise," Dabi patted your head. "Now, better go before someone realizes you went silent. You can be sure I'll find you later."
"You promise?" You whined, becoming clingy.
You despised the moments when Dabi had to depart, when the weight of your clandestine relationship became painfully evident. The reality of your position as a hero, bound by duty and responsibilities, meant that you couldn't be together openly. It tore at your heart, creating a constant ache within your soul.
"Of course I promise, little doll," Dabi patted your head. "Though others may perceive me as an aberrant being, I would never break my promise.”

know its for the better
Words: 2733
Warnings: angst, talks of a miscarriage, body image, talks of difficulty staying pregnant, mention of what is technically a still-birth, depression, suicidal thoughts, self-medicating, accidental suicide attempt, probably poor writing and OOC characters but whatever
DC Masterlist Main Masterlist Join My Taglist
Part 2 for "Love Thorns All Over This Rose"
I decided to make this be longer than just two part, so this'll be a sort of mini-series
I just want to leave another TW here: if you have ever suffered through a miscarriage or any type of child loss, please proceed with caution. I do heavily talk about how Y/N feels after suffering through that and do talk about her feeling like a failure of a woman and other things. I just want everyone to know that if you feel triggered by that, I apologize and I don't want anyone to be upset over what I wrote
I also want to say that I personally have never gone through. What I write in this, is purely based off of what I have read in other fics or stories as well as seen people talk online. I am trying not to offend anyone and if I do in any of the part that I talk about those things; I severely apologize.
Reminder that Alfred is dead in this so that's why he isn't here!
The POV here still isn't really consistent. It jumps between being with the Batkids, Bruce, and Y/N's. I tried to make it flow though so hopefully that works!
Reminder that Bruce and Y/N's ages don't matter (I'm not in the mood to deal with that) but; Dick is 31 (and married to Kori but that's not too important), Jason is 25, Tim is 22, Damian is 15, Cass is 24, and Steph is 23
Also a reminder that I also am not too familiar with Duke, so that is why he isn't there much. Mostly just mentioned
Anywho, enjoy
Love Z <3
All that he knew was that he walked in on his dad doing CPR on his mom.
That was all he knew.
That was all Dick knew.
Y/N tightened her grip around her purse, the people were following her too closely. She knew this. The light was still out, she kept reminding her that. Kept telling herself that no one would try to kidnap her in broad daylight.
But oh how wrong she was.
She should have known better. She grew up in Gotham. She should have known better.
----
Now
Three days had passed since everything happened. Bruce had refused to leave the hospital. He wondered if it was from guilt of not being there for her other times. Or if he was just filling in his obligation as a husband. Or maybe...maybe Dick was right and he was just doing all he could to preserve his image.
But none of that mattered. Bruce was staying until she woke up. Because she had to wake up. He had to show her that he still cared. That he still loved her. That he knows...he knows how much of a horrible person he has been to her for the past month.
He had to make sure she knew that he regretted it. Every word he said to her that night.
But every sign scared him. They had already had to resuscitate her since getting here. The tube was stuck down her throat, helping her to breathe. Nurses looking at him with pity, making him feel foolish for holding out hope that she would be okay. With every look that they gave him, there was a sort of emptiness and despair settling into his stomach.
Almost as if he agreed with them.
But he couldn't. He couldn't be agreeing with them. It wouldn't be useless holding out hope that she would be okay.
He ran his thumb over her palm, his eyes glancing up her arm and body until they landed on the raised skin on her collarbone. His hand that wasn't holding hers, come up to run over it. One of the many reminders of what happened 3 months ago.
----
Y/N woke up groggily. Her head was pounding and she felt like she had been dropped from a tall building. She blinked, trying to see something, anything, but as her eyes opened, she wished she could go back to seeing nothing.
She was sure that she was in the sewers. The damp and musky smell with the sound of water dripping down the old stone walls and floors around her made her all too aware of where she was. She tried swallowed any saliva, but her mouth was dry. Tears pricked her eyes from pain as she carefully pushed herself up.
Her heart was pounding in her chest as she gingerly touched her stomach. Involuntarily, her own body flinched back from her touch. She felt her air catch in her throat as she felt nothing moving. In the past month or so, her baby had been moving all the time, leading her on to many sleepless nights.
Deep down, she knew. She knew that her baby was dead. And she knew that there was nothing to be done about it.
She jumped back as she heard the sound of shoes pounding against the damp stones. She tried to move away from the only place that someone could come from, but with her hands and legs being tied together, it was harder than expected. She slipped slightly, her side hitting the stone hard.
Three men, with honestly average builds, stalked into the area. She breathed raggedly as she watched them continue towards her. She tried to push away as one grabbed her arm and forcibly pulled her up, a yelp of surprise and pain left her mouth as she was pulled to her feet.
These three men were normal. They weren't some goons or some chemically induced maniacs. They were normal.
And maybe that scared her more.
One of the men, who she assumed was the leader, walked up to her, knife raised. Her eyes darted between him, his associates, and the knife. Any self-defense training that Bruce had taught her, flew out the window as she stood before these men.
"When the situation arises, you'll remember what to do."
That was what Bruce had always told her. But here she was. In the situation and nothing was showing up in her mind as what she was supposed to do.
She leaned back as the guy leaned in but the one with the grip on her arm moved one of his hands to hold her head and make her look at him. She shook as she felt the knife against her collarbone.
A small whimper of pain left her mouth as she felt the knife push deeper, deep enough that it would scar over, before she was pushed back to the ground. The one with the knife gave her a sadistic smile before hoarsely whispering, "We're going to make sure Bruce Wayne finds you dead."
She stared in near terror as she held her hand over where they had sliced and watched as they left just as quickly as they had came.
----
Now
Jason stood in a corner away from Y/N's body. Even with the tube gone, she still didn't wake up. Although she had made some developments...some in the past 8 days that she had been in here and everyone had convinced Bruce to go home and get some proper sleep. So now here Jason was, standing in a room where the woman he had allowed to become his mom was laying still.
But he stayed away from her body.
Something he didn't say often was just how scared he can get. He remembers each time he's been absolutely terrified. When Bruce, well Batman, caught him stealing the wheels to the Batmobile. When he was stuck in that warehouse and Bruce didn't make it in time. When he saw Y/N again for the first time since his "death" and he thought that she would hate him for what he had done. When she was taken. Those words he heard Bruce hurling at Y/N.
And right now.
Jason was keeping his composure, but inside, he was a trembling and terrified child. A kid who just needed to know his mom was going to be alright.
Inside, he knew exactly how Damian was feeling.
But as he stared at her body, his mind couldn't stop drifting, remembering what he had heard that night 4 weeks ago. All he could do was wonder what would have happened if maybe, just maybe, he had gotten angry at Bruce for what he heard.
----
It was nearly 2 AM when Jason was going to sneak out of the Manor. Technically, it was easy to do, well...it was once he got passed Bruce and Y/N's room. So, he was as silent as he could be as he passed by. But he stopped in his tracks as he heard the voices from behind the cracked door.
Now, Jason wouldn't say he was noisy. But don't all kids stop and listen whenever they hear their parents arguing?
But they weren't arguing. No. He had heard that before. This wasn't it. This was different.
And it scared him.
He stood by the door as Bruce's voice got louder: "--Well I'm sorry that I'm not here anymore Y/N! But can you fucking blame me?"
"And what is that supposed to mean?" Her voice was low, warning him to think before he spoke.
"You didn't pay attention and got taken. You and your inability to pay attention to your surroundings got our baby killed."
She sucked in a breath, "You think I don't blame myself already, Bruce? Do you think that I don't wonder what would have happened if I just hadn't gone out that day?"
"Please, this doesn't affect you. You're perfectly fucking fine."
"Because I have to be!" She nearly screamed, "One of us has to be a parent to everyone else in this home and we both know it won't be you!"
"They aren't even your kids, Y/N, why do you--"
A loud slap echoed and Jason's hand went over his mouth as he continued to listen.
"Those kids are mine. I am the one who helped raise them. I am the one who has made sacrifices for them! You haven't done shit for them, ever." She let out a choked back laugh, "All I did was ask for you to be here with me, to understand what I am feeling and going through. But of course, you don't understand anything."
"I understand that you killed our baby."
"No Bruce. Those men came after me to hurt you. You are the reason I was taken and lost our baby. But sure," Her voice started to break, "Go on. Blame me. I'm used to you doing that anyways.
----
Now
Jason breathed shakily as he grabbed his helmet and stormed out of the room. He knew Dick would be there soon with Damian anyways and he had to get out of there.
--------
Dick watched as Damian laid curled into Y/N's side. Bruce was, miraculously, still sleeping as he and Damian snuck out to the hospital. He didn't do it much for himself as he did it for Damian, he knew that the kid had a sort of...guilt that he could have done something.
Not that Dick could say anything against that. He felt guilty as well.
Y/N was his mom. He was the oldest son. He should have protected her, that was his job. Dick was the protector. He was always supposed to protect everyone. Y/N and even Bruce included. He already had been in this situation before. The immense guilt of failing to protect Y/N.
He remembers what he thought that first time he was here. Remembers the guilt of already failing to keep Alfred alive and not wanting to fail Y/N.
----
Dick ran through the sewers, trying to find Y/N. Two days had passed since she had gone missing. All of them had lost sleep trying to find her and now they were searching the sewers for where she could be. He felt like a failure, a bad kid, all because he didn't
He stopped in his tracks as he heard her labored breathing. He turned in the direction that he heard the breathing, his own getting caught in his throat when he saw her laying in the fetal position.
"Mom." He breathed out, rushing to kneel by her side. He gently grabbed her face and looked at her, tears pooling in his eyes. "Mom, I'm sorry, I'm so sorry."
He failed. Guilt filling with him. Guilt of failing Alfred and now her.
He was a failure and he knew that.
"You-you're not a--"
----
Now
"--A failure."
He stopped and looked at Y/N, his eyes wide. "Mom?"
Her head was turned to the side, a small look of gentle concern on her face. "You're not a failure Dick." She whispered through a hoarse voice, "You didn't fail anyone. Especially not me."
But he shook his head. He did. Not once. But twice. First being after she was taken and now this.
"Dick, stop that. The only person here that failed was me."
He got up and angrily wiped the tears from his eyes, "But I-I just...you never--"
Her hand shakily came up to touch his face, "I'm the one who failed sugar. I should've..."
She stopped, hand leaving his to rub her neck. Out of instinct of all the times waking up from injuries, he grabbed her the bottle of water he had grabbed earlier. Unscrewing the lid, he gently brought it to her lips and she quickly took a gulp of it.
After a moment, she gently held his wrist. "Dick, look at me and believe me when I tell you that it's not your fault. You did nothing wrong." Her grip tighten on his wrist for a moment, "You or your siblings." She glanced over at Damian, her arm wrapped around the kid who was now sleeping. "You all had nothing that you could do." She looked back at him, "Everything that happened, that I did, was nothing to do with you kids. It um...it--"
"Has to do with dad?"
She nodded silently before breathing shakily, "I know Jason heard what Bruce and I said. Ahd I um...I assume that--"
He stopped her, his head shaking. "He didn't tell us anything."
"Oh." She sucked in a breath, "Let's just say, both your father and I say things that we shouldn't have. Not saying they weren't truthful...that deep down we didn't mean each and every word that passed our lips...but you kids aren't to blame."
Dick swallowed hard, "Why did you do it mom?"
Her hand fell from his wrist and she looked away, out to the window. "You don't understand how I felt after everything--"
----
Y/N silently stared out the window. Her hands mindlessly moving up and down her now flatter stomach. She felt disgusting and like a failure. A failure as a wife and as a mother and...as a woman. She was hurting. Not physically, sure her entire body was in pain, but mentally, she was in much more pain.
Her head snapped as she heard the door open. She saw Bruce standing at the door, an almost uncomfortable look on his face. She shakily looked away, ashamed to even look at him.
She heard his almost scoff, "Y/N, come on. You need to talk about it."
She looked at him slightly before whispering with a strained voice, "So do you."
"Y/N, I didn't...nevermind." She looked away again as he walked further in, "Doctors said that you'll be able to leave soon. By the end of the week at most."
She nodded, "Alright." Her voice nearly numb and void of emotion. She turned her head to him, "You always gonna hate me now?"
Bruce sighed, "I don't...I don't hate you."
"Why not?" Her words started to lace with their own venom, "I lost our baby. Because I'm such a..."
He shook his head, "Don't finish that sentence. You are not a failure baby. It wasn't your fault. None of what happened was your fault. You weren't gonna know that someone was going to come after you.
----
Now
"Y/N?" She felt herself freeze when she heard the voice. She kept her eyes everywhere but at the door. She didn't want to see him. Not here. Not now. "Dick can you--"
"Mom doesn't want to see you."
"Dick you don't--"
"Dick it's okay." She whispered, looking at her oldest. "Take Damian down to the food court, force him to eat some junk."
"Mom--"
"Go." She whispered before he silently nodded and grabbed the younger boy, starting to carry him out of the room. She weakly gripped the blanket, "Why are you here?"
"Can I not visit my wife."
She shook her head, "I am not your wife, Bruce." She looked at him angrily, "You're the one who served the fucking papers."
"And I can't--"
"Bruce, you told me that the only reason you were letting me stay in the manor was for the kids. Was so that Damian didn't have to losing another person." She breathed angrily, "You stopped loving me, not the other way around. You're only here to keep up appearances that you are a loving and devoted husband." She leaned forward in his direction, "But I know exactly what you are."
"And what's that?" He challenged.
"A selfish coward who only cares for himself and his image."
He shook his head, "I'm sorry that I made you think so lowly of me."
Tears burned her eyes, "Get out."
"Y/N--"
"Get out, Bruce. Now."
He stood and started for the door, momentarily stopping to look at her. "I still love you, I know what I did and what I said shows otherwise, but all I ask for is one more chance and I'll prove it to you."
Her lip quivered for a moment before she whispered out, "Tell the nurses I woke up."

Babies shouldn't grow up ☆ Jason Todd & GN!Reader (PT.6 FINAL)
What does Jason do after he secures his spot as your number one person and you slowly but surely grow up into an independent teen..? Wait, stop, you're not supposed to do that. You're his baby. [PART ONE ♤ PART TWO ♤ PART THREE ♤ PART FOUR ♤ PART FIVE ♤ PART SIX]
Pairings: Platonic Jason Todd & Child GN!Reader / Batfamily & Child GN!Reader
Okay, let's be honest here, Jason would hate how fast time flies
As busy as he'd be splitting his life between vigilante work and fatherhood, taking down crazy new villains, attending to your school events, catching up with his friends, going on family vacations, Jason would 100% still notice how fast you were growing
By the way he'd have to often buy you new clothes because of your growth spurt
And how the current mark on the wall where he measured your height was inches apart from the first one he made
You were spending more time with your friends, the things you were getting interested in made no sense to him, and you wouldn't go to him to take care of your hair as much as you used to
It fucking terrified Jason
He hated it, so much
While he was proud and absolutely thrilled that you were independent, confident, and a hell of a charmer, he also wanted his baby back
The little brat who barely came up to his elbows
The one who'd cling to his legs whenever he told you to clean your room and would get dragged around
Hell, he really missed how you'd fit so easily in his arms as he carried you around
You still fit, he was a big guy after all, but for you it'd be a bit embarrassing for your dad to carry you around like that
Teenagers and embarrassment, am I right?
Now in his late twenties and over all that anger inside him, Jason would probably whine about it to his family
"I mean, how can someone grow so fast? It makes no fucking sense!"
"Jason, it's been five years, kids grow."
"Thanks Captain Obvious, but mine shouldn't!"
"What? You wanted the kid to be eleven forever?"
"..."
"Jay..."
"Shut the fuck up."
Somehow, being so lonely and melancholic over watching you sprout and bloom, Jason would even end up bonding a little with Bruce
Think about it, at this point Bruce would already be in his sixties or something, so Cass would've taken over the mantle by then
I'd imagine he'd still work as intelligence for the League but with Cass as the Hero of Gotham and Tim as the CEO of Wayne Industries, the old bat would have a lot of time in his hands
Which he'd spend around his family and grandkid
And when Bruce noticed Jason's pouty and broody demeanor when you were texting a friend, he couldn't help but laugh
"Now you know how I feel."
"It's different. It's going too fast."
"Son, I watched all of you leave the manor in less than fifteen years, it's always too fast."
Begrudgingly, Jason listened to Bruce's advice, that same old anxiety rising up in his chest, leaving him vulnerable and restless
"The best thing you can do is talk to your kid. I learned it the hard way with all of you and I know things would've been different if I had reached out sooner."
Jason couldn't deny that, even if the look in his old man's face did make his chest hurt a little
It's not like he hadn't thought about it, to be honest, you two always had a very open and communicative relationship
That was the exact reason why you two trusted each other implicitly and barely ever had any fights
But he was scared, downright terrified that you would confirm his fears
Just imagining you saying "I'm fifteen, dad, of course I'm not gonna hang out as much with you anymore." already broke his heart
So after whining a little to anyone near him and almost getting stabbed by Damian for "being such a clueless moron", Jason decided to put his big, grown ass adult pants and talk to you
It would be during a late afternoon, when the sun is setting and you had decided to make dinner tonight while Jason set the table
He'd run his hand through his hair once, then twice, maybe even thrice, and ask without looking at you
"Are you embarrassed of me?"
You'd almost burn yourself by whipping your head so hard Jason thought you'd snap your neck
"What?"
Ok, so they were doing this
Cool. Cool cool cool.
It was now or never
"You've been spending a lot of time away, always on your phone, we– uh, we haven't matched or hung out in a while either so– I get it, kid, I know you wouldn't want to–"
"Wait, stop, are you serious?"
Uh, oh, you were using the same tone as Damian
Like you thought he was the dumbest being to walk on earth
Damn that little demon for corrupting you
"I was just wondering, okay? I understand if–"
"No– dad, what? I thought you were busy!"
"What?"
Let's rewind a bit
You'd always been pretty attached to Jason, always glued to his hip, mimicking his mannerisms and speech
Steph even called you "mini Red Hood" when you started to unconsciously copy the way your old man dressed and his slangs
It was terribly cute for everyone
And you were proud of it! You were!
Jason was your hero, your favorite person, your dad
You wanted to be like him and you weren't ashamed of it, not even when Damian tried making fun of you
Because he was a dirty Batman wannabe and nobody liked those
He was your best friend and confidant, the one adult you'd trust fully without questions, always by his side and supporting him through everything
Except for that one time playing monopoly but that was Cass's influence
You owned Red Hood merch, you liked spending weekends and holidays with him, you matched your tastes and likes to everything Jason liked because it was Jason and you wanted to be closer to him
Birthdays could end up being just the two of you and you'd still be thrilled to have your dad around (even if the other bats would never allow such sad little party)
You had around nine years of experience with shitty adults, so excuse you for being overjoyed that your real dad was someone worth loving fully and irrevocably
But everything changed when you turned fourteen and the kids in your class started acting... weird
"Urgh, my mom is so embarrassing."
"My dad keeps calling me little princess even though I told him to stop!"
"Why are parents so cringe."
Apparently, disliking your parents made you cool in middle school
But that's not what changed things
It was when your friends laughed at you for talking so much about Jason, asking you if your old man even had time to do other things when you kept clinging to him
Which... you had never thought about
In all honesty, being around your dad was so natural at that point, always in his field of vision, relating random things to him, texting one word messages just to check in, that you hadn't realized you've might have been hogging his attention too much
Some unease and insecurities wormed their way inside your vulnerable teen heart and you convinced yourself you had been taking too much of your father's time
You couldn't even remember the last time he hung out with his best friend
What if he became sick of you?
What if he was already annoyed?
That terrified you, it truly did
Long story short, you forced yourself to change a little, keeping a bit more distance, not being as needy or clingy
You even started doing your hair by yourself, which sucked so much ass
You never realized how much thought and care your dad put in taking care of you
It made you miss him even more, but you wanted to be a good kid and let your dad have some freedom
He was still in his 20s after all!
And with him a bit more involved with his vigilante side of life, going to the manor more often, and the rise in criminal activity, you had assumed he was busy being an adult
Which, eurgh, you missed him so bad
But you were being a good child!
So much for that
By the time you finished explaining your side of things, after the two of you stared at each other for long moments, Jason was left with his head in his hands
He made a noise akin to a deflating balloon, his shoulders slumping
Good god, the two of you were embarrassing
He loved you
So fucking much
Jason thought his heart would explode
He could've been a little upset that you didn't just... talk to him but then again, he also didn't talk to you
Like father, like kid
"You're so stupid!"
Your laughter warmed his heart as he grabbed you by the shoulders and wrapped you in a bear hug, squeezing you tightly
Yep, you still fit perfectly in his arms
"Says the one who listened to the words of fourteen year olds!"
"I was also fourteen!"
Even though you two bickered and grumbled, his sigh of relief in your hair was very telling
And so was the way you clung to him tightly
God, he had missed his kiddo so much
"Never do that to me again, okay? Babies shouldn't grow so fast."
"I'm fifteen, dad."
"And you're also cute and short, so you're still my baby."
"Everyone is short when you're six foot."
"Thank the pit for that."
"I don't think I will, actually."
That night, after the two of you ate your somewhat burnt dinner, Jason carried you to the couch despite your whining and cuddled you as you picked your movie of choice
You did grow, currently in that awkward teen phase with growing pains and longer limbs, but the way you tucked your head beneath his chin was still the same
The way you looked at him, eyes filled with happiness and adoration, was still the same
Your laugh and sharp words, how you still reacted the same way to certain scenes, your mannerisms, attitude, innocence
Sure, you were growing wonderfully
And you definitely mirrored him a lot more than you knew
But Jason had been a fool for thinking you were changing
You were still his baby, the mean kid with a soft heart, rough past, and dirty mouth he grew to love so much he didn't know what to do with himself
And to know that distance between you two had been manipulated and not purposeful ripped his anxiety right out of his chest
You wanted to be by his side just as much
You loved him just as much
And he couldn't ask for more
"You will let me do your hair tomorrow though, you fucking suck at it."
"Suck a bag of dicks, dad."
"Love you too, brat."
The end.

I Need You | Part 9
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5 | Part 6 | Part 7 | Part 8
Author’s Note: I have a few fic ideas that would be set when the reader first gets to the Night Court. I also have more Azriel imagines planned that wouldn't be in this series so look out for those! Thank you so much for all of the comments and love on this story, I appreciate it more than you know! <33
Summary: After months of healing, there is still something weighing you down and Azriel wants nothing more than to help you.
Pairing: Azriel x Reader
Warnings: bad body image, nudity but not straight up smut, let me know if I need to add any others :)
A few months had passed since everything happened and you were feeling better for the most part. Azriel had more than proved himself and you two were best friends again. You now trained with the Valkyries and enjoyed their company. You had also been helping Amren out with translating old texts a lot lately.
You enjoyed having work to do, you started to feel like your old self again. But there were still a few things that gnawed at you.
The main thing were the scars. The physical reminder of what you went through weighed you down. You covered yourself up as much as you could everyday so no one else saw them.
This seemed to be working for you until one day, Azriel came up to you with a big smirk on his face.
"I got you a present!" the still smirking male told you
"How many times do I have to tell you? Stop buying me presents!" you told him
You had never received so many presents in your life and you doubt he has ever given this many. It started out small like bringing you a coffee while you worked, then he would buy you little things here and there like a notebook for your research. Eventually, he was buying you more expensive things like jewelry every other day.
Every time you would tell him you didn't need anything, and every time he responded with the same thing - "I can't help myself, I saw it and thought of you"
The butterflies you would feel were always better than the gifts.
Amren was sitting beside you watching the interaction with a smirk on her face.
"Hmm? A chocolate croissant this morning and now another surprise? Two in one day? Seems like a new record." she spoke in a slightly joking tone, enjoying poking fun at the spymaster
You and Az made eye contact and quickly looked away, a slight blush taking over both of your faces.
After his confession all those months ago, you both began to try and be friends again. You knew he was waiting for you to be ready for more but you weren't sure how to go about it all. It was easier to push those thoughts away for now.
Deciding to help the shadowsinger escape all the joking, you stood up to go to him. He held his hand out to you, and led you up to your room. Before entering, he put his hands over your eyes, using them as a blind fold.
"Is this really necessary?" you giggled
"Of course it is! Now walk forward" he told you and you could hear the smile in his voice
You walked, well shuffled, into your room with him close behind you. He started a countdown.
"3...2...1...Open!" he shouted, removing his hands
On the wall in front of your bed was a brand new mirror. Dread filled your body. The thought of having to see yourself every time you changed made you want to vomit.
Azriel of course noticed the reaction and immediately began to worry.
"What's wrong? You don't like it? I knew it was stupid, Cass helped me pick it out and he has the worst taste." Az babbled on.
"No, I love it." You told him. If you let him know you didn't want it, then he would want to know the real reason. You couldn't explain it all to him right now.
He gave you a look that showed he didn't fully believe you but he decided to let it go.
You gave him a hug and thanked him for it. It truly was a beautiful mirror. It was huge and had the most detailed golden flowers all around it. Perhaps you could focus on that and not the nasty marks that littered your body.
Night time came faster than you would have liked and the thought of changing in front of the mirror seemed like too much. You knew you needed to do this, another step in the healing process.
Eventually you made your way up to your room and began to get ready for bed.
You started to peel off your clothes from the day, breathing through each piece that came off. Once you were fully naked you couldn't take your eyes off of your body.
How would anyone be able to find you beautiful when you looked like this? You wrapped your arms around your stomach as tears sprung to your eyes. You began to softly cry.
Suddenly, you saw movement in the mirror behind you. You lifted your head until you were making eye contact with Azriel through the mirror.
Shadows shot out to cover you, helping you keep your modesty.
"What's wrong, my love?" He asked
The name only made you shudder, knowing he wouldn't call you that after seeing your body.
"I'm hideous. My body doesn't even look like its mine anymore." you voice cracked
His heart broke for you, and he ached to hold you.
"Can I come closer?" He asked
You nodded and he walked until he was behind you, so close you could feel his chest as he took a breath.
"You are the most beautiful woman I have ever seen." He stated and laid his hands on your shoulders, moving them down your arm until they rested on top of your hands. He laced his fingers with yours and kissed the back of your head.
"You haven't even truly seen me to know that." you said
"I don't need to see you to know that it is true. But if you think that, then show me." he stated
"What?" you couldn't believe your ears.
"If you're comfortable, let me see." he spoke confidently
You nodded and let him know it was ok to remove the shadows. He bent down and placed a light kiss on your shoulder, right on one of the marks, then on another right next to it.
Slowly the shadows pulled away from your body and you were left compeltely naked. He was staring at your body through the mirror, in awe of you.
He walked til he was standing in front of you.
"Just tell me to stop if you're uncomfortable." He whispered
You nodded and he got even closer. He brought your hand up to his lips and kissed a scar on your palm. Then moved to the other arm and kissed a scar by your elbow. He got down on his knees and looked up at you through his lashes.
"Beautiful" he said right before kissing a rather large scar on your stomach.
He didn't stop until he kissed every mark and scar on your body. He stood up and took your face in his hands.
"Yep, its just as I thought, you are the most beautiful being that I have ever seen." He spoke as he leaned down to your face
"But I'm broken, these scare are proof" you cried
"These scars are proof of your strength. When I look at you, I don't see anything broken. I see the the love of my life. I see intelligence, kindness, power... I see my mate." he confessed
You inhaled sharply and were confused until you felt it too. A tiny pull on your chest as if someone was tugging a string attached to you.
"You're my mate," he smiled then stopped himself, "I found out when Lucien carried you through the doors and none of us knew if you were even alive. I didn't want to tell you because of everything going on and I wanted to earn your love, didn't want you to feel pressured into anything."
You were so shocked, you still hadn't spoken. In a way, you were glad he kept it from you. If you had known he was your mate you aren't sure what you would've done. All of the trauma you went through must've stopped you from feeling it too.
"I understand if you don't want to accept it. After everything I did-" he started but you immediately shut down that thought
"You have more than proven yourself to me Az. You are my mate and there is nothing that could change that" You told him.
He growled softly when you called him your mate.
You both continued smiling at each other, wrapped in each other's arms.
"If you'll let me, I'd like to continue worshipping you for the rest of the night." he purred.
"It's only fair, you did say you loved groveling" you whispered and he smiled and leaned in.
"Wait!" you quickly said placing a hand on his chest.
He looked confused but you ran over to your bedside table and grabbed the chocolate croissant he had gotten you earlier. You handed it to Az with a smile.
"Are you absolutely certain this is what you want?" he questioned
"It is the only thing I have been certain of in a long time." you responded and he ate some of the pastry.
He set the food down and put one of his hands on your waist, the other on your neck. Slowly he leaned in and placed a soft and gentle kiss on your lips. You wrapped your hands in his hair and pulled him down for a much longer, more passionate one and he grunted into your mouth.
The frenzy quickly kicked in and Azriel ended up worshipping your body for the next couple of days.
You still weren't fully healed and you probably wouldn't be for a while but that was okay because you had Azriel and the rest of your family to help you get there.

Close Ties (Daemon Targaryen x Female Reader) (Modern AU) (Non canon) (18+)
Read Chapter 2 // Series Masterlist
Chapter 3
Summary: Tension between you and uncle Daemon increases as you realise your feelings might not be one sided.
Warning: 18+, dad's best friend trope, canon (we don't know her), familial uncle niece sort of relationship but he's not really her uncle, there will be smut later, significant age gap but reader is in her mid twenties, mention of infidelity, divorce, smoking and alcohol drinking,
"When did you return?" Aemond walked towards Daemon to give him a hug and for a moment Daemon seemed as if he was in shock but eventually he wrapped his arms around his nephew and greeted him. What were the odds you thought, his actual nephew was in the same place at the same time and not just that but he had the fortune of bumping into you.
He was a fun guy, you couldn't deny that, it took him five minutes to win over everyone around him, as he sat down next to you you felt Daemon's eyes on you but as you looked at him he quickly averted his gaze. You wondered what kind of mess you'd get into if you were to start dating the guy next to you but Daemon wouldn't care right? You were not a child and nobody was allowed to tell you what to do, after the dinner before Aemond left to go join his friends he kissed your cheek and exchanged phone number with you, you both had decided to meet again tomorrow.
"Oh my godddd I'm so excited for you..this is exactly what you needed" Cassandra squealed as she wrapped her arms around you, as you hugged her back you noticed Daemon excusing himself to go smoke in peace. What was he thinking now? You didn't know why you felt so pulled towards him, maybe it was because of the way he seemed so broken that resonated with you. Or maybe it was the truth of the situation that you wanted your hot uncle to fuck you. Or maybe it was both.
"Don't get too excited..he's just a guy" you chuckled as you pulled away from her so she rolled her eyes,
"Well he's not Daemon i knowww" she giggled and blushed and it was your turn to roll your eyes, however deep down all you wanted was to be her, Daemon was Daemon and he was unique in his own ways. Even his own nephew couldn't compare to him.
"So how's it going between you two?" you cleared your throat as you both walked towards the beach,
"Well sex is good.."
You didn't need to hear that.
"Ofcourse"
"He's so different from other men i have been with..there's something about him you knowww" she mumbled as she started into the distance so you stopped walking and looked at her,
"He's emotionally unavailable right now cass, I hope you know that" she grimaced as you tried to knock some sense into her.
"Gee I don't care, sooner or later he's going to fall in love with me like they all do" she said proudly and you resisted the urge to roll your eyes,
"And you? What about you?"
"Well I do like him.. we'll see" she winked at you so you smiled. You wondered if she'd have gone after him if she knew how you felt about him. She had been with that one guy you liked in college but she didn't know you liked him. It has happened quite a few times where you found someone attractive but they only came to you because they wanted to get to her but that wasn't really her fault.
Her phone started to ring so she excused herself and walked away, that's when you decided to go check on Daemon, he'd have done the same for you.
At the secluded corner of the beach, you found him sitting by the water's edge, his feet almost in the waves. When you sat down next to he turned his head to look at you, his hair was a mess due to the heavy wind and all you wanted to do was kiss him, your thoughts were always filled with such images whenever you were alone with him
"Are you alright uncle?" You questioned him so he chuckled as if he was remembering something,
"You know you didn't use to address me like that when you were a child" you looked at him confused as he said that,
"What do you mean.. of course I did"
"Yeah, sometimes you did. Not always though.. sometimes you just called me Mister Daemon.. but now you just keep calling me uncle as if to remind me of our familial relationship " his gaze fixated at you and you felt your face heating up, he was letting his intrusive thoughts win here. What did he mean? Why did his words make you feel so bothered? Maybe you were doing it on purpose.
"Do I have to remind you?" You smiled softly so he chuckled and shook his head.
"It's not something i can afford to forget"
"Ummmm so your nephew..why were you so shocked to see him" You asked him to cut the tension between you two so he took the last puff of his cigarette and threw it into the waters.
"Haven't seen him since I left, he grew into a man ..I have been.. neglecting everyone..my family, my friends here..you lot" he sighed so you placed your hand on his forearm which immediately made him look at you again..
He placed his fingers on your chin and made you look at him since you were avoiding eye contact, for a moment you thought he'd lean in and kiss you but it was probably all in your head, maybe you were reading too much into his actions
"You fancy him don't you?"
He chuckled as he asked you before he put his hand away from you, everytime he was around you he found himself feeling a mixture of emotions, a part of him felt perverted and disgusted by his own thinking, another wanted to protect you in every possible way, he had just gotten out of a long term relationship, he was assured he still was in love with Stella then how come he had such conflicting feelings about his supposed niece,
"I don't know..yet. He seems nice but then all men do at the beginning..it's weird I knew he seemed familiar when I met him"
"He was at my wedding "
"Yeahh.. and he's your nephew..I don't know if I should..I mean you just got back and if things get messy between us it would affect all of us"
"Don't worry I'm not leaving so soon again" you smiled as he said that. You didn't want him to leave again.
"Sooo ummm you and Cass –"
"What about it?" He didn't even let you finish as if the mere idea of him and Cassandra bothered him,
"Nothing i… are you ..i mean.. nevermind" you squeezed your eyes as you fumbled with your words,
"It's just a fling darling" he quickly interjected,
"Well sometimes that's how it begins"
"I know..but I'm not ready for a woman like her..been there, done that already"
"What do you mean?" You raised your brows in confusion as he said that,
"You know what I mean..she's fun..but in life you need more than just fun"
"She can be more, she's not vapid or whatever you think of her..Are you slut shaming her?"
He raised his brows and smirked as you accused him, you felt as if you had to defend your best friend, that's what she'd have done too. Right?
"Nothing shameful about it if she wants to be a slut ..it's her life..her choice. But not every man is comfortable building a relationship with such a girl he knows he can't ever trust to be faithful" you bit on your cheek as he said that.
"Ohh then why did you marry a slut yourself?"
He tilted his head as you said that, you knew you had stepped out of line but you felt a bit annoyed at the moment, he was 43 so you kind of understood his traditional views but it still bothered you.
Would he feel the same way about you if you were to make advances towards him..even though you won't?
"I did.. and i regret it ..i wasted my youth on her, now I'm old and got nothing much to offer"
Now you just felt bad for him. This divorce has messed him up you knew that, he probably never would have returned if it wasn't for his marriage falling apart.
"You're still young uncle Daemon..I'm sure you have got a lot to offer but you need to stop being a slut yourself" he chuckled as you said that.
There it was, the world uncle that made him want to lay you down on his lap and spank you until you'd be whimpering underneath him.
"You're just like your mum"
"I hope that's a compliment!"
"Of Course..your father was always a blessed man"
Sucks that he had almost ruined his life once for a frivolous night of fun, he thought.
You watched Cassandra walking towards you two so you sighed, this was your queue to leave.
"Well good night then uncle Daemon"
"Goodnight darling Pixie" he answered softly.
"Oooh what was happening here?" Cassandra said, she had tried her best to keep her voice cheery like usual but you could tell she didn't really enjoy it whenever you were alone with Daemon. She had no right to feel that way though, he was your family, not vice versa.
That night you couldn't really sleep and when you finally did you dreamt of Daemon and his body on top of you as he fucked you slowly on that same spot at the beach you both sat on today. As you woke up you came back to reality, you couldn't wait for this vacation to be over so you wouldn't have to witness the romance between him and your bestie. .
That day while you spent it with Aemond, during the dinner when you all got back together you noticed Daemon's eyes on you, perhaps he was just worried about your equation with Aemond, but every time you looked at him he was looking right at you, he even smiled at times which made you feel giddy.
Daemon spent that night chilling with your parents so you spent yours with Cassandra, she couldn't stop talking about daemon, she even asked to see his older pictures so you showed her everything you had on your phone
"Lord he was so hot when he was younger, how did you not have a crush on him y/n?" You gulped as she questioned you. Only if she knew. He was the guy you pleasured yourself to for the very first time.
"He was like my uncle and I was 12 when we met, and he got married two years later" you lied to her so she shrugged in response,
"What about now though?"
"Well he's still like my uncle.. nothing has changed"
"Wooh I'm glad he wasn't here when we were in college, I'd have ruined his marriage" she giggled as she said that, she was way too confident about herself at times. Daemon never would have cheated, he was madly in love with Stella and he wasn't just the type of guy to do that, he believed in love and marriage, he believed in one for forever and maybe that's why he had stayed with her for so long..
"Why did he leave though?" She asked you while she let out a huge yawn so you sighed,
"I don't know.. something happened between him and my dad..they were going to be business partners ..i remember the trip we had taken to Venice together to celebrate the deal but something happened"
You could never figure out the truth though, nobody told you. Your mom always said she didn't know.
"I don't know what though.. everytime me or mum brought him my dad just pretended as if his bestest friend in the world never even existed.. sometimes i wonder–" you turned your head to look at her and she was fast asleep so you tucked her under the covers and got up to go back to your room,
As you stepped out of her room and took the elevator to yours you noticed Daemon fiddling with the key card of his room. He was blackout drunk it seemed, so you walked towards him and helped him open the door,
"You had fun i see" you mumbled softly so he smiled in his half drunken state, his eyes were heavy and you could tell he just wanted to lay down in his bed that very moment. As he stumbled on his feet you grabbed his forearms and helped him steady himself, you looked up at him since he was hell a lot taller than you and he had his eyes on you too which made you feel nervous again.
Before you'd do something really stupid and irreversible, you really wanted to turn around and leave but then he cupped your cheeks between his large hands and all your senses went haywire,
"You're a good girl aren't you?" He mumbled softly, his voice was barely a whisper, your response died in your throat as you felt his thumb rubbing over your lips in a caressing manner, the action didn't exactly seem innocent but he was drunk and you didn't want to read between the drunken lines, his touch ignited a fire within you but you knew you had to control yourself here or you'd end up ruining everything.
"Depends on whatever the definition of a good girl is for you ..uncle"
He leaned down and kissed your cheek tenderly, your brain was so foggy at the moment that you didn't even know whether the sound that escaped your mouth was a gasp or a moan, your arms wrapped around his neck as you clutched onto him and you felt his fingers curling around your waist. You felt his lips on your shoulders and this time you knew for sure that you had moaned ever so slowly in response.
You stayed like that for a moment before you felt him pulling away, maybe the hug felt too intimate and beyond the lines of how an uncle should be hugging his niece because he stepped away from you and immediately stumbled towards his bed to lie down. You walked towards him and took his shoes and socks off so he won't feel uncomfortable at night before you tucked him in and left the room.
God this was going to be super awkward tomorrow. You hoped he wouldn't remember it, a part of you felt guilty when you thought about Cassandra, no he wasn't her boyfriend and no they weren't exclusive or even dating in that sense but you still felt bad. As you reached your room you finally allowed yourself to fully register what had just happened, was he going to kiss you? Did he like you in that sense? Was he attracted to you too? Several questions bothered you but if the answer was yes to any of those questions then you were going to get in serious trouble, it was one thing to thirst after your hot uncle but having him reciprocate it would complicate things even further.
On last day of this trip all of you were supposed to go sightseeing together so you were waiting for Daemon and Cassandra to show up.
Aemond had joined you as well, he wanted to keep seeing you in London and as much as you enjoyed his company you felt as if you were being unfair to him, you didn't say anything to him though.
As Cassandra came walking with a sullen face you felt a bit concerned about her.
"What's wrong?" You asked her, your parents were looking at her as well, your dad was getting anxious to leave, it was the last day and he wanted to enjoy it.
"That old man is hungover af..like he was so rude and dismissive, I'm not going to talk to him again" her voice was loud and shrill as she spoke,
"Told you to not let him drink this much, he has always been lightweight" your mom looked at your dad before she turned to Cassandra "Hon it's not your fault..he just gets cranky"
"Let me call him" your dad stepped aside to give him a call so you looked at Cassandra again,
"Are you okay?" She groaned as you questioned her,
"He seemed so grumpy like a grandpa and just..gahh..he's so frustrating..he's really old isn't he?"
"Maybe he's not feeling well Cass..you don't have to attack his age..it can happen to anyone" you said in a half joking tone but you didn't like how she went straight for his age. Why didn't he come though? Was he avoiding you? Did he remember the scandalous rubbing of the lips and cheek kiss last night?
"Well he's indeed a grumpy old man..he just went off on me that he wanted to sleep" your dad said as he returned so you sighed, Cassandra hugged your father so he comforted her,
"He's so rudeeee" she complained again so you looked at Aemond and told everyone that you'd go check on him once.
"Do you want me to join you?" Aemond asked you so you told him politely that you'd be fine walking by yourself, he didn't complain either which you felt grateful for.
You felt Cass's eyes on you but ignored it, you just wanted to make sure he was okay, and maybe this would kill the awkwardness between you two if there was any.
As you knocked on his door, you waited with bated breaths, why did you feel so nervous around him like a schoolgirl with a crush on her teacher?
"Told you I wanted to sleep –" he opened the door and stopped speaking as he looked at you, his hair was dripping wet, there was a towel wrapped around his waist, his body wasn't the same as you remembered, he used to be one of those guys that were constantly sporting six packs but now he looked soft and maybe he had put on the extra vacation weight as well, and all you wanted to do was snuggle against his soft body.
"What is it Pixie?" He asked you softly, you were expecting him to go off on you as well. Why was he being so gentle with you?
"Ummm I just wanted to make sure you were okay.. Cassandra and dad said you were a bit snappy" you were looking at his bare toes because your face flushed every time you looked at his half naked body so he went inside to put on a tshirt as well as a trouser as quickly as he could,
"Nobody in your family knows of boundaries now do they?" he asked you as he came back to you and stood against the door frame to talk to you. You definitely didn't know a thing about boundaries.
"I'd leave you be then uncle" you turned around to leave but he grabbed your arm and turned you around, you came here to get rid of this frustrating sexual tension between you two and not add even more to it..
"I'm just hungover sweetheart" he mumbled softly so you nodded, you were still not looking at him so he grabbed your chin and as you looked up at him with your doe eyes, in that moment all he wanted to do was pick you up in his arms and forget everything about who you were to him and what sort of relationship he shared with you, he wanted to ruin everything.
"Do you want me to come?" He asked you and you gulped in response, your heart was racing so fast you feared you'd pass out from the sheer jitters you were feeling.
"It's the last day of the trip, it'd be nice to have you there"
He nodded as you said that, you didn't know just yet that he was going to be living with your parents for a while as he settled back in London, he let go of you and went inside to go change, he didn't even close the door so you did it for him.
Daemon wasn't a fool he could tell you were attracted to him but he was the older one here, he had to be the responsible one, he had to protect you from himself or he'd mess it up even more, and this time it'd all be his fault. He couldn't just treat you the way he treated Cassandra, not that he felt she deserved it but he saw her as a grown woman while with you he could never get rid of that sweet innocent face of your younger self he had in his mind when he left and now he had developed this stupid attraction out of nowhere.
Besides, this never would work between you two, your father would kill him, you both were ages apart and what could he give you that men in your age frame couldn't? Even if you were attracted to him, sooner or later you'd realise that things won't last between you two and he wasn't ready for yet another serious relationship, casual worked just fine for him but he probably needed to end things with Cassandra on this trip itself.
As you walked along with him and met up with your family, your parents were all smiles that somehow you had managed to convince him to come while in reality you had done nothing. Cassandra also hugged him as if he had never been snappy or rude with her.
While boarding the yacht daemon walked up to you and kissed your forehead but not in a manner that would raise alarms, it was just a sweet fleeting "I'm your favorite uncle" sort of kiss.
"Thank you darling" he mumbled so you shook your head and chuckled in response,
"No worries..you're family..we all wanted you to be here"
He nodded as you said that before he put his sunglasses down.
"No..I mean for taking care of me last night"
He walked away from you after he said that. He remembered. He remembered everything.

February Monthly Recap
I had a lot of fics this month. Every one of these deserves a dedicated post of its own but in the interest of efficiency this roundup will have to do!
BATMAN
Uptown Girl by orphan_account (Stephanie Brown/Cassandra Cain), 60k, Case Fic, Friends to Lovers Stephanie Brown has three problems: a supervillain father with a deadly scavenger hunt in the works, a mysterious rich girl who's way too interested in her life, and one really, really painful hobby. Alternatively: a different kind of Spoiler origin story.
The Lois Angle by cabezas_de_vaca (gen), 15k, Bruce & Lois Friendship, Case Fic What she had with Bruce was novel, exhilarating. She had fallen in love several times, and that was like a great swoop of a wing, a flash and flush and then long tumble, but this was like a warmth that welled up from within. This was Bruce grappling up to her thirtieth story Metropolis apartment, stowing the Batsuit in the bathroom, and watching StarTrek with her. This was her driving to the manor when she couldn't sleep, only to find she could do it there. This was having a friend. Or: Despite the long shadow Batman casts and the demands of being one of the youngest Pulitzer winners ever, Bruce and Lois manage to steady each other, in the way that only friends can. Also, there's a case they need to solve.
the scientific method by orphan_account (gen), 20k, Sibling Bonding, Duke-centric 5 stupid ways Duke's siblings discovered how his powers worked, and 1 time he figured it out for himself. "You have no idea," Dick said. "I had to live through all of their teenage years. They were each independently obsessed with Mythbusters at separate points in their life. I'm pretty sure Cass and Tim have wanted a meta to experiment on since they were 14, but Bruce always said no."
Meet Me Where You're Going by Hinn_Raven (Stephanie Brown/Cassandra Cain), 68k, Slow Burn, Mutual Pining When things get complicated in Hong Kong, Cass requests help from Batman Inc. Unbeknownst to her, Bruce dispatches not one of her brothers, but Stephanie Brown, who Cass has not spoken to since she gave up the Batgirl mantle. Steph is eager to reunite with her best friend, but things between them are complicated. Not the least of the problems is the fact that Steph might be falling in love… but of course, Cass is straight, so Steph really shouldn’t dwell on that. Friendship and romance, conspiracy and adventure await the two of them as they try to unravel a complicated plot that seeks to stop Batman Incorporated before it can truly begin.
when you move, fall like a thunderbolt by orphan_account (Stephanie Brown/Cassandra Cain), 5k, Villain!Steph, Canon Divergence In another universe, Stephanie Brown's plans to kill her father aren't interrupted by Batman. Which means nobody stops her from tripping and falling headlong into running her own gang, and then a little more intentionally rising to the top of the underworld. Meanwhile, seeing as Bruce only has one kid who actually wants to carry on the good name, Cassandra Cain takes over as the Batman of Gotham's future. This would be a fine turn of events if it weren't for the fact that they've been dating on-and-off for ten years.
falling without caution by coffeecrowns (gen), 17k, Bad Parent!Bruce, PTSD Jason is twenty, decidedly less into murder, trying to avoid developing agoraphobia, and putting together some pieces into a life. Tim is sixteen, riding the edge of burnout, and in a show of his truly baffling survival instincts, decides Jason is friend shaped.
MICE ON VENUS by NEOCULTUREDAUS (gen), 3k, Tim & Damian Bonding “Timothy, if this is revenge for me trying to kill you, I need you to know I’m not sorry.” Damian’s eyes were clamped shut, hands fisting Tim’s hoodie so tightly that if Tim tried moving, he simply wouldn't be able to. “I’m not trying to get revenge. And open your eyes, you can’t ride a skateboard with them closed.” Tim patronized, prying Damian’s hands off him, you know, like someone evil who didn’t care for the wellbeing of his younger brother. Or The one where skater Tim takes his artist younger brother graffiti painting
So Sweet Saluteth Me by Lishalalalalala (gen), 7k, Good Dad!Bruce Sleep deprived™ Jason hangs out with Dick then they surprise Bruce at work with early lunch and some love. This fic is inspired by farmers’ markets on those summery days and the belief that if I run fast enough the sad can never catch me. (I mean you are telling me that Bruce Thomas/Alan Wayne wouldn’t be absolutely BASKING in joy if his kids just decided to randomly show up at Wayne Enterprise and pay him a little midday visit? )
to count by miles or days or people (when will i stop missing you) by jcp_sob_rjl_lmep (gen), 22k, Angst, Hurt/Comfort When Duke is kidnapped off of the streets of Gotham on his way back to the Manor from visiting his parents, it sends the entire Batfamily into a panic. With very little evidence to go on and time slipping past them, there's no help coming as Duke is forced to make a grand escape and get himself home before his kidnappers find him once more.
birds and brothers and other assorted synonyms by Ao3time, hoebiwan, quandaries_and_contradictions (gen), 21k, Series, Found Family A Reverse Robin AU in which Damian is a tired older brother, Duke is a ray of sunshine, and Dick is a baby talon.
Emergency rooms and chicken nuggets by Lilac_hyacinth (Bernard Dowd/Tim Drake) 7k “So…” Duke drawled, sounding suspiciously wide-awake for the day shift kid at two-thirty in the morning. “If I said Damian and I are in a bit of trouble, on a scale of Jason to Cass, how likely are you to kill us?” Clearing his throat and rubbing his eyes to try to wake himself up, Tim grimaced. “What the fuck did you do?” “Nothing.” Or Tim and Bernard get out of bed at two in the morning to go across town and pick up Tim's reckless little brothers.
Pick a Pocket Full of Pennies by Trekkele (gen), 24k, Found Family, Fluff, AU-No Powers The life and times of Dick Grayson, unintentional ringleader to a gang of pickpockets, and how he learned to let go and get adopted. Or something.
SPIDER-MAN
Death Before Inaction by hppjmxrgosg (gen), 37k, BAMF Peter Parker, WIP “Fuck off, Nicky.” “Hasn’t anyone ever told you spider-napping is illegal?” “You can’t hold me here, I know my spider-rights.” “God, you guys are so old. What are you? Like 27?” “Scale of 1 to 10, how upset would you be if I told you I banged your mom?” - Or, I got my grubby little hands on the spider-man time line and fucked around a little bit. Not much (everything) changes.

What Makes a Family? Pt27
Beginning Previous Next
Marinette walked down the stairs to find Cass scowling at Bruce and signing rapidly. Selina was whispering with her Maman, who looked far too amused, so Cass had to be laying into him pretty hard. Damian was looking on in confusion, but the other boys were nodding along with whatever her twin was saying. She really needed to have Cass teach her to sign. Chloe appeared next to her.
"I'm actually learning new terms. You sister is extremely creative with swearing." Of course, that would be what impressed Chloe. Mari had to wonder how much of it was just not knowing common terms, so she made up her own.
"I don't want to mess up her relationship with him." Chloe scoffed.
"Given the way the others are reacting, this isn't the first, or worst, of his overstepping. I'm thinking this is a long overdue rant."
"You did what when I was with Babs?" Dick's indignant shout startled most of the room. "Yeah, I'm never bringing anyone home ever again. Not unless I've been married for two years." Mari sent Chloe a questioning glance.
"Trust me, you don't want to know." Yeah, if Chloe was saying that... she really didn't want to know.
"You've never known when to butt out, old man. The difference this time is that you don't have any right to butt in in the first place." Jason's tone was downright hostile.
"She's my daughter."
"A biological connection doesn't mean you own me. I'll be eighteen in three months anyway and I'm completely financially independent, so if you want any type of relationship with me, it's going to be on my terms, Mr. Wayne. Those terms will include not interfering in my relationships with others, romantic or otherwise, and not telling me how I'm allowed to live my life." He looked like he was going to argue, but Cass signed at him before standing beside Mari. He looked at the boys for help, but the only one not glaring at him was Damian.
"Marinette, you're young. You have no idea the danger-"
"Do not pretend you know anything about me or my life, let alone what I do and do not know. I assure you, I know what I'm doing, and Luka and Kagami are not a threat or a problem. If you can't accept that, then you can leave." She hadn't wanted to get to this point so soon, especially since it put Cass's ability to stay in question. Unfortunately, she also wasn't willing to set a precedent with him by letting him think he could act this way with her. She'd been around enough powerful people to know that if she didn't set boundaries now, she'd never be able to enforce them. Jagged was proof of that.
"Perhaps we should discuss this privately." No way was that happening. She could almost see the hero lecture waiting to burst out of him.
"After what you just tried to pull, and your apparent history of browbeating your kids into things, we're not about to let that happen." Tom's voice was harder than she'd ever heard it. "If you won't respect my daughter's boundaries, you'll be asked to leave." The emphasis he put on 'my daughter' caused Bruce to flinch. She would feel worse about it if not for the fact that all her siblings, besides Damian, seemed to approve of it.
"I think we should separate for the time being, and try this again later. Tempers are high, so we all need space to calm down." Sabine sounded cheerful enough, but there was a hard edge to her words that everyone caught. As much as Mari thought it was a good idea, they were in a bit of a time crunch.
"Given that they're only going to be here for a week, it might be best to get things settled. But, if Bruce isn't willing to compromise, there's not much point in continuing this discussion." She could hear how tired she sounded and given the concerned looks at her and glares at Bruce, everyone else could, too.
"By compromise you mean letting you decide everything." The sulkiness in Bruce's voice made her roll her eyes. Yes, this had to suck for him, but he couldn't honestly expect her to let him just take over her life.
"No, but there are going to be things that aren't negotiable. I'm not going to tell you how to live your life, and I'd appreciate the same courtesy. We know next to nothing about eachother, and until we do it's not really fair to have an opinion on each other's lives." He didn't seem to know what to do with that. She was sure that, for a man used to being in charge, it wasn't something he had experience with. "I want to get to know you, all of you, but I'm not going to change who I am or how I live my life to do it. If you can't accept that, you can leave."
Cass hugged her from behind, and Mari could feel her twin glaring at Bruce. As much as she had hoped it wouldn't be necessary, it was obvious who Cass would side with in this. Of the boys, Jason seemed firmly entrenched on her side, Dick and Tim were more of a neutral, and Damian just seemed confused, but he'd most likely side with Bruce for the time being. Hopefully, it wouldn't destroy her chance of getting to know him permanently. When it became obvious Bruce either couldn't or wouldn't back down, Selina went over to start whispering in his ear. Alfred had been scarily silent through everything, and Mari really wasn't certain what to make of it.
"You need my help." Selina rolled her eyes, and Alfred just shook his head. The man really needed to learn when to back down.
"I need Cass. That's it." He flinched, and even the boys were trading looks. Bruce was closing off. She could see it. "I need to show Cass her new school. Why don't you take the evening to think things over? We can try this again tomorrow when everyone is calmer." Bruce looked about ready to explode.
"That sounds like a good idea. Master Bruce, we should head back to the hotel." The glare Bruce sent Alfred didn't phase the man at all. The stern look he sent back had the boys looking like they were ready to wet themselves.
"Fine." Bruce signed something at Cass and she felt her twin stiffen up behind her. Chloe looked like she was about to start screaming at him, too.
"Miss Cassandra will be staying with Miss Marinette. Indefinately." Alfred's tone was frigid and just about everyone seemed to be cowering or eyeing the man like he was going to explode. Even Bruce hunched in on himself a tiny bit. "Now we really should be on our way."
Mari had a feeling Alfred was going to be having a long conversation with Bruce. She just hoped it had the desired outcome. The man obviously had control issues, and she couldn't afford to have him try to take over her life. She had a feeling she was already going to have a major issue with Batman trying to step on her toes once he actually went through an Akuma attack. She couldn't count on there not being one before he and the others went home. Not to mention, if she'd heard right, he could just use some tech the Justice League had to teleport back at any time. She'd have to ask Cass about that, too.
Selina practically pushed Bruce out the door, while the boys followed under Alfred's gaze. Before going joining the rest, Jason shoved a piece of paper in her hand with a wink. She had a feeling he was one brother she could count on not to run to Bruce with information.
Once they were all out of the door, Mari felt herself relax. She felt terrible that things had gone downhill so quickly, but there really wasn't another option at this point. She couldn't afford to show weakness. There was far too much at stake, both in her personal life and as a hero. Cass tightened her hold on Mari.
"He needs time. He'll calm down."
"Unfortunately, time isn't something we have right now. If this doesn't get better, I'm going to have to force him to leave Paris before Hawkmoth is back in fighting form." She didn't even want to think about how much that would piss him off. She had a feeling Batman's ego wouldn't take too well to being thrown out of a city by another hero. Alfred and Selina would take her side... at least she thought so.
"Alfred will make things right." She wasn't quite sure what Cass meant by that, but she hoped she was right. She opened the paper that Jason handed her and heard Cass giggle behind her.
If you need someone to help you hassle B, give me a shout. ~Jason
It had five phone numbers on it. If she didn't know his 'occupation', it would seem excessive. It did mean she had at least one of her brothers on her side when it came to Bruce though. Whether that was a good thing or not was yet to be determined.
"Why don't we head over to the school? There are a few clubs meeting, so I know the building is open. That way, you can get a feel for the layout before tomorrow." She knew it would stress Cass out if they didn't scope out the building. It was going to be bad enough being around so many new people.
"You don't want to eat first?" Given the looks her Maman was shooting at the door, she was more worried about them running into Bruce than the actual food, but it was a good idea anyway.
"Of course, Maman. We wouldn't want it to go to waste." Especially since she made enough to feed the whole city again. Maybe she should text Jason and see if he wanted to meet them at the school and they could bring him some. "Maybe we could take some to go as well. I wanted to show Cass the houseboat, and if it's late enough, we might stay there." It wasn't a lie, just not the whole truth.
"Probably a good idea. It'll give your father and I time to talk to Bruce should he decide to come looking for you." She really hoped he didn't. Her Maman might actually kill him. She would text Selina or Alfred to make sure he didn't come over, but she had a feeling that would have the opposite effect she was looking for. After they ate and while her Maman was boxing up food, her Papa motioned her out into the hallway.
"What's wrong?" She heard the panic in her own voice and her Papa winced.
"Nothing's wrong. I didn't mean to worry you. I just wanted to make sure you were handling everything alright. I know things have been tense, and you tend to overthink everything without letting anyone know." She leaned forward slightly, and that's all it took for him to envelop her in a hug. Her Papa gave the best hugs.
"What if he makes her go back?" She knew it was an irrational thought, but it wouldn't go away. Her Papa hugged her tighter.
"That's not going to happen. We won't let it, and more importantly, Cass won't let it. I truly don't believe there's a force strong enough to separate the two of you. And if there is, Plagg will get rid of it." Marinette started giggling and couldn't stop. It was a little disturbing that she found the image of Plagg getting rid or Bruce amusing, but she was willing to chalk it up to stress.
