I was getting a bunch of notifications during a test, not uncommon during election season, I just ignored it. After the test while walking out of the building, I saw it was a GAS LEAK WARNING, for the building I was IN. kinda insane, especially cause no one’ll know about it until they are done haha. No alarms, nothing, just an email and a couple of texts telling us to stay out of the area. Hilarious, actually

Something that's always bothered me about Grian is that he doesn't. ever. do. interiors. His builds are soo good and have so much potential, but I always fall short when trying to imagine his character actually living there. So I took it upon myself to recreate his house in minecraft, and build an interior myself, in a way I think he would do it (using a couple resource packs and mods, to make it more fun for myself)

I don't think he would waste any space - especially not for storage, so I've tried to add a few extra chests around.

the colour scheme is one I've been LOVING. petition for hermits to make more cozy living rooms. I don't care if they're not functional.

Grian build an actual bedroom challenge. For once in your life. Please.

It makes sense that the HTTYD Vikings wouldn’t know this while they were fighting for their lives against Furious’ forces but….Furious declared war on ALL of humanity right?? Did he just start with the Vikings and the Americas have no fucking clue what might be about to hit them? Is everyone else just chilling or did HTTYD become an alternate history series off screen while dragons stole Visigoth valour and fridged the Roman Empire hundreds of years earlier? Aka were their multiple fronts to the red rage that attacked other human societies or did Furious pile all of his forces on the Vikings? Is this a post apocalypse novel set in America where secretly the rest of the world is totally fine and the Americans don’t know?

i think the scene where hickey is initially trying to get hodge to agree with his plans is kind of interesting. he's actively trying to make it seem like crozier's choices as captain aren't good for the men as a whole, while simultaneously proposing a solution that only benefits a handful of the men

plus, i think it's also interesting that hickey is trying to make it seem like following his plan will end in anything different/better than crozier's. if they find game, it won't be enough to sustain anyone for very long. it'll only really be enough to keep a couple men alive long enough that they'll be able to die by each other's hands rather than by their own stomachs

it also almost feels like, at least to me, that hickey is subtly trying to propose a "survival of the fittest" solution, while not really realizing (or wanting to acknowledge) the fact that he is not the "fittest" to survive. he doesn't understand nor have a place in the nature of the arctic (nor does he seem to have that back in england), and that comes back to be his eventual, final downfall. even if he was able to manipulate some of the situation to his advantage, manipulation is not equivalent to adaptation. "you can be whatever you need to be now" is what he says to hodge, but i honestly think that he's saying that to himself. he's become someone else, and that's worked well enough for him so far, so his logic is that it'll keep working for him. he believes that he can become the person who survives, who holds the power

last little part of this post- in the scene just after, where they're out in the hunting party, i think it's interesting that the camera is on hickey when hodge is talking about the origin of the word "diet". someone's diet is their way of life, and when it comes to hickey, his way of life could very well be described as cannibalistic. he eats people for all they can give him and he tosses aside the remains once the bones have been picked clean. once there's no more use in keeping up the false identity of a man he killed and replaced, he tosses aside that name and life and moves onto what he thinks will be his next meal.

you know what i want in earth spark? a decepticon that doesn't regret being a decepticon but wants a better, reformed movement. i want a decepticon who is 100% proud to wear the decepticon badge but also wants to bring it back to its roots; to equality, and not having to bow down to oppressive powers. a lot of the 'good' decepticons we get either totally hate the decepticon movement, don't stand for it any more or are just plainly evil. and i kind of want someone who actually unites all the other decepticons and eventually gives them something to fight for a more personality.

maybe it can be tarn? maybe it can be starscream? idk. but i want a narrative with a decepticon who is extremely proud to be a decepticon, realizes the flaws in the movement and decides to stay a true decepticon, but focus on the beginnings of the cause. and maybe they could still be seen as a threat to G.H.O.S.T but they aren't inherently evil. they just are a movement of cons who will not forsake all they sacraficed, but are actually working to help those of them on earth and eventually, make a more equal cybertron.

I can't prove this, and I'm not even 100% sure about it, but I feel like there's some kind of connection between the growing lack of horror media designed for children and the antiship movement.

'Cause growing up watching shit like Goosebumps had nothing but a positive impact on my ability to tell the difference between fiction and reality, and I feel like kids not having access to age-appropriate dark media is definitely contributing to this pro-censorship epidemic happening online.
