Dick- Blue Kirby (kirby is a funky little fella and dick loves the ability to steal his siblings’ abilities and use it against them)

Babs- Samus (specifically the black and yellow suit, that looks like batman. also samus is a badass female role model in a post apocalyptic type world. badass.)

Jason- King Dedede (he likes playing the big character with the bigass hammer and makes it his mission every single time he and dick play to knock dick off first)(steph pokes fun at him for picking the pink and purple one but jason can still kick ass even with the pink character)

Tim- Dark Pit (he’s an emo little bitch and absolutely has cosplayed as dark pit at least once for halloween. also winged characters are niceeee)

Shaina was on my cosplay 'wish list' for years... but was pretty far down in priority until October 2021: when I started thinking about potential masked cosplays for my first foray back into con-going. I went through my supply stash and found I already had everything except the wig, neon tights, and shoes to make her- so, it was decided. I paused working on my other two WIPs to have her done by January (since I had rollover tickets for ALA 2022). While she was 'complete' enough to wear for the event, there's still some work to be done on the chest plate... and her snake gauntlet broke by days end so needs fixing. Otherwise, I'm pretty proud of how she turned out!

Before I move on to costume specs, I just want to clarify that I did wear a medical-grade mask under my costume one. We aren't out of the woods yet, so con responsibly!

Materials/Construction:

Belt- Yellow flannel, from my fabric stash

Bodysuit- Brown jersey knit, from my fabric stash (pattern drafted by me)

Chest Plate Armor- EVA Foam (6mm, with 2mm used for detailing), Plasti-Dip to seal foam for painting, silver and metallic violet paint (mixed), and Velcro for side fastenings (pattern drafted by me)

Headpiece- Foam clay sculpted over a store-bought headband, Mod Podge to seal foam for painting, silver and metallic violet paint (mixed), and EVA foam (2mm) for diamond-shaped pieces over the ears

Knee Pads- EVA foam (6mm), Plasti-Dip to seal foam for painting, silver and metallic violet paint (mixed), silver stretch vinyl

Leg Warmers- Lavender violet fleece, elastic (pattern drafted by me)

Mask- Plain plastic craft store mask from my closet (shape refined a bit with scissors and heat), navy blue and black paint, plastic mesh (for eyes), elastic (dyed to match wig)

Right Gauntlet- Lavender violet fleece (sewn from a modified Vogue 8311 pattern), EVA foam (2mm) for details, Mod Podge to seal foam for painting, metallic violet paint

Snake (Left) Gauntlet- silver stretch vinyl for glove (sewn from a modified Vogue 8311 pattern), foam clay sculpted over a base shape of scrunched newspaper, EVA foam (2mm) for arm straps, Mod Podge to seal foam for painting, silver and metallic violet paint (mixed)

Shoes- Store-bought heels, yellow Angelus leather/vinyl paint

Tights- Store-bought

The wig is a Hestia from EpicCosplay in Tea Green, with minimal styling by me. The false nails were painted with a mixture of black and purple nail polishes.

Imagine a burlesque show of Cats , even just burlesque Queens

That would be quite the interesting show anon, and I guess end up being a Moulin Rouge (which I have never seen - but can imagine it is hot at points) x Cats adaptation in all fairness. I am not overly familiar with much of the more detailed aspects of burlesque, but there is no denying that the queens in elaborate lingerie and / or costumes would be pretty special. Reading into a bit of Moulin Rouge as a yardstick of sorts for how a burlesque musical would work, my only caveat is that as much carnival-esque / parody attributes be stripped away for it to be best for me. Not necessarily taking away the performative aspects that are so important, just the more campy bits that could be involved. That is assuming that both shows are conflated in a very macro sense rather than just putting the queens in sexy costumes (which would still be good).

Anyway, I would say that the dancing and music would need to be slowed down and lessened to allow for anyone to really flaunt themselves properly. Speaking more to burlesque queens for the rest of this ask, I would hope that it is made to be as risqué as possible. Not simply because the sexier the better (and it would be better to an extent), but because it would not strip away (pun not intended) the sensual or subjectively sexual aspects of the queens or musical.

Teasing and showing off is something I definitely am into, so I suppose the best way to answer you ask is to consider each queen because I am not as well informed about anything to do with burlesque enough to think more big picture. Clothing / costume wise I am picturing corsets, leotards, and stockings for some as well as frillier dresses paired with tights for others. Seems like it is up for interpretation in the end, but it would always include lacy lingerie for me.

Vic would be a bit too shy to really do any form of burlesque publicly, so she would be more of an audience than performer. She still gets enjoyment seeing other queens show off. In private, she does like giving her man special little shows that only her is privy to. Plato loves seeing his white queen dance so sensually, even if it just her body without any added adornments (though her in some sort of cosplay makes him feral).

Rumple would make a good performer, and her specialty is essentially dressing up in something akin to her song costume, but have it fit even tighter to show off her perfect ass and smaller tits. There would be so many butt wiggles, kicks, beautiful bending over, leg spreading and such all while she has her paws running all over her body. In a way, she does have a tendency to turn herself on with her moves, so she would progressively get more and more sensual with her moves before she would probably start fingering herself off-stage.

Tanto would don the most elaborately non-sexual (to a point) costume when she performs. Something like a flowing dress with stockings and garters. While she is shy normally, when she gets a chance to be a bit provocative and show her body off, particularly on front of other queens, she does try to capitalize on it. Most importantly, if she can see other queens watching her and how they stare at her body, then it becomes a more and more sensual performance. She would lift the dress up to show off her legs right up to her hips in flashes, ensuring she gives those a peek before teasing and performing more. The end comes with her bending over and hiking the dress up to show off her tight ass in lacy panties.

Cass, perhaps surprisingly, is quite the performer. She wears the fanciest set of lingerie and stockings she owns, a set with a peacock pattern, and has a set of elaborate feathers that come as a costume piece to complete the look. She parades around, waving her figurative and actual tail feathers as she dances in a sultry manner. The entire time, her body is on full display apart from the scant bit of clothing she is wearing. Her tits and ass look spectacular to say the least.

Not to specifically lump them together, but Deme and Bomba perform a spirited and jazzy cabaret-type rendition of Macavity while dressed up in more elaborate pieces of bejeweled red and yellow corsets, black lace panties, and black stockings. Keeping (and adding to the amount of) the high kicks, leg lifts, and general hip shaking, both queens lay out their most sensual moves during the performance.

Jenny is a bit of a progenitor to the more erotica skewed performances of burlesque that happen in the junkyard. Coming out initially in a big overcoat, she quickly ditches it to show of a costume featuring a feathered headpiece, the smallest thong she can find, and pasties over her nipples with little tassels attached, she works herself with thrusts of her chest and shaking her big ass around. While it would be deemed sexual, she is all about the performance and body empowerment when she steps out.

For Jelly, there is no other costume as sultry or as special as her stepping out from behind the curtain dressed as Griddlebone. Adding nothing to the ensemble, the fluffy white costume and pink corset is more than enough to elicit lust in her audience. Her entire show is the same as she would perform normally, singing and acting as a pantomime. For her, it is about the performance and not really about showing off her body.
