Nooo it's so depressing seeing how much capitalism has won over feminism on tiktok... its such a horrid place for these young kids to be maturing on because like why is it every time I see a video defending celebrities like Kylie Jenner for lying about getting plastic surgery and then building her empire off of her lies (and her already rich fam) it's made by like an esthetician or any other cosmetic-based worker and all the comments are eating it up !!!! Like!!!! They're profiting off your insecurities!!! Do u not see that!!! These ppl are never gonna actually want a society where it's more normal to not shave or not get lip fillers because they wouldn't have jobs then!! Ofc they're gonna make videos defending celebrities overnight unrealistic beauty standards IT BENEFITS THEM
#personal#like dont get me wrong im never gonna harass someone for getting cosmetic surgery or shaving cause like i shave#and i would get facial surgery in a second#but lying about it only adds to the problems surrounding beauty standards#like lip fillers and bbls quite literally became a trend amongst ppl because of the kardashians stolen looks#tldr dont trust professionals who make money off of beauty products or surgeries when it comes to body neutrality

i haven't seen anyone fully articulate what i personally felt disappointed by wrt viktor's s2 persona and ending so i guess i have to do it myself even tho i'm bad at talking!! can someone who is better at this just read my mind and say it fancier and more coherently?
agency, the loss of
i have seen people already mention the way disability came into play at the end and what a wild choice it was for jayce - born able-bodied and healthy - to be the one to tell viktor - trapped in a body that was actively killing him - that actually your disability is a part of you and made you who you are and you owe everything to it. ... huh? jayce (by which i mean the writers), do you think without his disability, viktor wouldn't have still been a genius? yes, viktor is disabled - that's not even remotely what makes him a compelling character and power player. it is his mind not his body that makes him who he is. the fact that he had to waste almost his whole life fighting against that body to achieve anything is the entire crux of his frustration - imagine what he could have dedicated his mind to if he weren't constantly struggling to find a way just to survive another year, another month, another week, one more day. have you thought about it? because he has. so yeah that whole conversation, trash. bruno mars just the way you are ass one direction that's what makes you beautiful ass argument. viktor was not going crazy over cosmetic surgery, he was trying not to die.
but it strikes me as just one more expression of an overarching theme for s2 viktor - that of the complete and total loss of his agency. (more on a meta level than in the show itself, but also in the show!) i said after act 1 that viktor had died in that explosion and jayce was going to be chasing that corpse until the end, and i was correct. viktor bounced from one mindset to another, never seeming to have any consistent ideology of his own that couldn't be changed as soon as the plot demanded it. at any given point he was just kinda... wandering around, doing some random shit with the powers that worked through him. gone was the viktor who used his own hands and mind to influence the world directly, to bend it to his will. i always always felt this and i stand by it - taking viktor's abilities as an inventor and scientist away and turning him into some arcane mage jesus figure was a mistake and a disservice to his character. arcane said no this boy wasn't smart or determined, his ability to build and invent and seek and learn don't matter and never mattered, he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time and as soon as the arcane got its goop on him he just became the most specialest magic pixie dream boy to ever live and his own goals, dreams, ideals, morals, talents, skills, and hard work ceased to matter in any meaningful way. he never had to work to master magic to be able to use it to further his goals, because he immediately stopped having goals.
viktor became a non-character. he became whatever ideological and technological threat level the show needed to challenge to heroes and never more. he ceased to have any control or understanding over what was happening to him, rather he just gave up and decided to use his magic indiscriminately for whoever made the most convincing argument, a choice that would have been completely antithetical to his character up to that point if he'd still been alive. 'fuck zaunites, sure i'll turn them into robots so a foreign power can use them to attack and take over piltover and zaun, who cares. it's not like these are the people i've spent 30 years of my life trying to protect and save.' <- something viktor would never ever ever have agreed to! ever! no matter what! they have played us for absolute fools.
ambiguity, the loss of
the thing i wanted the most and was expecting because of the way viktor's original lore was set up was that the series would end with viktor and jayce unreconciled and with mutually exclusive worldviews, both fully believing they were right and the other was misguided but not evil or irredeemable, setting them up for future conflict. this felt like what was being set up when arcane made it a plot point that jayce was being convinced to turn hextech into weapons while viktor started getting unethical and unhinged with the experimentation. they both had good reasons to do what they did - and i'm absolutely not going to insult jayce's intelligence by claiming he was just manipulated into it by anyone, give me a fucking break - but the point was that both of them were doing something the other thought was misguided and dangerous. and they also felt that if they could just make the other person see their completely logical and rational pov, they could fix the divide between them and make up and be best science buddies again.
but then at the end arcane completely gave up on viktor having any belief in his own ideals. it just turned into 'aw actually he was just lonely all along and none of that science stuff or difference in morals or worldviews mattered bc he's got a buddy now and he's completely unequivocally on jayce's side. :)'
it was like. insanely selfish. as in, self-centered, concerned *only* with the self. the viktor i liked, and the one i wanted to flourish and hoped arcane would canonize, was someone who was entirely dedicated to zaun, to righting the wrongs of piltover and helping the people in the way he thought best - no matter what jayce or piltover thought about it. an ambiguous villain, just like all the other really well-written ones in arcane.
accountability, the loss of
viktor killed people. not sky, who was an accident despite his fixation on her; i'm talking at least a hundred or more zaunites during his stint as the machine herald. he ripped their minds out and made them play house with him, then turned them into weapons of war for ambessa's siege, and all of those people - primarily sick, desperate zaunites - died. this was always the entire crux of the conflict between (league) viktor and jayce giopara. viktor was willing to destroy people and use their bodies for his own gain unapologetically because he thought what he was doing was a blessing and the people were better off under his control because they would never feel fear or anger again. agree, disagree, depends on your view of free will and human nature, but the fact is that everyone who came to viktor hoping for a chance to be healed so they could pursue their own dreams and lives had those dreams and lives ripped away from them and they never got justice or even a single scrap of acknowledgement from the narrative.
in arcane, the horror of viktor's actions just... fade away into the background. viktor and jayce waltz off into magicspace together, leaving viktor's dead, ruined victims for piltover and zaun to deal with. he doesn't return their minds or bodies, he doesn't even seem to remember or care about what he had just been doing to other sentient living human beings. he's not sorry, he doesn't feel regret, he got what he wanted (a friend) and fuck everybody else.
because the narrative just shrugs and handwaves and says no no forget all that it doesn't matter it was just the hexcore or whatever, viktor becomes a flat, uninteresting character. he loses the depth that villains like ambessa and silco had, villains who had their victims validated by the story, who faced challenges in their arcs specifically because of the people they had hurt despite thinking they were doing the right or noble or most important thing. and not just the villains! even the heroes had to wrestle with the people they stepped on on the way to their lofty goals. but not viktor. he just floats away scot free, completely blameless, having no affect on the world and the world having no affect on him.
on arcane's status as the new canon lore and the Implications™
reminder that arcane is somehow supposed to tie into the world of runeterra at large, but now viktor and jayce both have been seemingly entirely removed from it. if it only mattered that they knew the people we'd already seen them interact with, okay, i guess. but that isn't the case. they both have a ton of connections to other champions - from regions other than p&z even - that haven't been introduced and don't have any plausible explanation for how they could have met in the past, which means they should have been set up to meet somehow in the future. implying that jinx escaped and has gone traveling the world is the perfect way to incorporate her in-game relationships with people like lux - she could have met her while traveling! but jayce and viktor don't get that plausible continuation of their story and development of further relationships - they just disappear out of existence. (ambessa also has this problem because they killed her, but unlike jayce and viktor she does have a huge amount of unexplored backstory where she could have spoken to (for example) swain and hwei and shyvanna at some point.)
note 1 - jayce and viktor are so old that they don't have any voice lines in game when meeting other champions. but other champions who are either newer or who have had voiceover updates do talk to them, which is how (aside from the old lore) you can infer that they do have relationships with other champions including ones who weren't in arcane.
note 2 - maybe riot actually doesn't care and none of the champions are really supposed to know each other or be involved in each others' lives canonically, they just have random quippy voice lines that imply that. which would fucking suck. having the lore of the game have no impact on the game itself and vice versa would objectively suck. if the characters talk to each other on the rift and say something interesting, i want that to have meaning. i want to be able to extrapolate the state of the world and the relationships between the characters from the things they verbally say with their mouths. i'm not arguing about this. the voicelines should be seen as the most high irrefutable canon that there is for the game because it is the ONLY source of lore in the game itself.
anyways there's my bible i guess. i miss evil laser robot viktor i want him to perform unethical brain surgery on me (fixing my adhd but also turning me into his personal puppet attack dog) and then give a weapon to a child so they can kill their bullies.
#league#arcane#viktor#jayce talis#hextext#also i'm not like devastated over it. i've seen worse endings and way worse character assassination.#this is just my onion ya know.

Whats the lore behind Cabbagepatch?
I should really have a page dedicated to this 🤣 Okay, strap in! This is going to be a long post!
Empress of Evil, Cabbagepatch Prudence Le-Croissant Pantoufle Baba-Yaga Mothballs-Smyth and her siblings belong to a race of ancient, immortal shapeshifters with a default dog-like appearance.
The Mothballs Siblings minus Robespierrepatch
Several hundred years ago, Cabbagepatch and her siblings were looking for new planets to conquer when her brother Cookiebatch, overcome with psychic energy, tried to eat the spaceship's controls, causing them to crash land in Strangetown.
Cabbagepatch as a puppy and an adult on her home planet, Cardboard Batuu. The crash in Strangetown. Cabbagepatch in disguise as a French dog. Cabbagepatch as an elder
The crash caused a massive disagreement between the Mothballs siblings, and they split up and fled to various corners of Sim Earth.
Tigerpatch's fifteen minutes of fame
Cabbagepatch went to Champ Les Sims, disguising herself as a French dog, Figgyduff moved to Chestnut Ridge and started an illegal horse dealership, Kapusta hijacked a cruise ship, before eventually settling in Ravenwood, Tigerpatch moved deep into the Selvadoradian jungle, but rose to prominence as the face of a Simflix documentary, Rottenbonnet set up home on an offshore garbage island, Mitzipuff and Cookiebatch were discovered by scientists, who later tricked a rather stupid man into taking them after they all but destroyed the lab, while Foxipuff and Blobbypatch are unaccounted for, but do attend family gatherings when called.
Cabbagepatch performing a blood sacrifice with her siblings, while wearing Sentate couture
Cabbagepatch was kidnapped by scientists in Champ Les Sims. She was bored and wanted something to do, so she let it happen, and then promptly blew up their lab.
She then reconnected with her brother, Robespierrepatch, who had left during an earlier migration and was communicating from Sim Earth. They had a falling out over sausages, so like her siblings often did, Cabbagepatch found a nice family and stayed with them until they annoyed her and she had to kill them. Rinse and repeat several times over.
Cabbagepatch found a family she could tolerate, but Figgyduff, after learning of her sister's location, broke into their home and destroyed their kitchen in search of sausages. Cabbagepatch got the blame and had to kill the family. Her bloodfeud with Figgyduff never ended.
Cabbagepatch ended up being taken in by a nice old lady who fed her the most magnificent sausages. Cabbagepatch grew to like her, and together they guarded their home from unwanted visitors with much aggression. Sadly that wouldn't last, and she ended up being 'inherited' by her grandson (the gall!) Milo.
Cabbagepatch waiting for Milo's wife Hana to die
She remained with Milo and his family and lived a comfortable life, occasionally begrudgingly sharing her time with their other pets (thankfully mortal). Occasionally she would run into old enemies, but overall, her life was peaceful and allowed her great freedom to build a large stock portfolio and start various underground businesses.
Cabbagepatch when she went off sausages for a few months
When Milo and Hana passed away, Cabbagepatch found herself living with Milo's sister, Heather; her favourite of the Smyth family. Heather remained ageless on a strict regime of Botox, Ozempic, and cosmetic surgery, and became the one human Cabbagepatch actually liked.
Heather in her late eighties to early nineties with Cabbagepatch
During her time with Heather. Cabbagepatch was free to go about her business, given Heather was busy with her own portfolios and businesses. She accepted an invitation to join the League of Evil.
Cabbagepatch and her associates during some downtime (credit: @theplottdump)
Cabbagepatch has learned from her long life that it's okay to wind down a little, and having had an eventful time on Sim Earth, she makes sure to involve herself in smaller pet projects, as well as large-scale business ventures.
Cabbagepatch, along with Vampire Cher and Vampire Enya, taking down evil children's author KJ Rowley in the Banned Forest
Cabbagepatch's greatest enemies
Being a business woman and dangerous individual of such calibre isn't without enemies. Cabbagepatch has made a variety of enemies in her time. For the most part, she lets them live, as without enemies, where would the fun be?
This brings us to the present moment, when Cabbagepatch appears to have buried the hatchet with Figgyduff (and not in her head either), in their war against the Clucking Cosa Nostra. No one knows what the future will bring for Cabbagepatch, except perhaps Cookiebatch, who does have psychic powers, but either can't, or chooses not to verbalise them.

if reqs r closed pls ignore this sorry im genuinely so blind so idk if u were taking them rn, but can i request “the captain will have to get involved pretty soon” situation from that fic where a new lieutenant joins, overall just like a part 2 where price does have to get involved 😭😭 like ghost is just so annoyed with this man
Hey reader! 🍫 No need to worry; I don’t have a “policy” on requests apart from the nsfw thingy (i don’t know how to write smut). Whatever comes, I accept it wholeheartedly! :)
Synopsis: Ghost and the new Lt. get in a fight. Price handles the situation accordingly and nobody is happy.
Relationship: Simon “Ghost” Riley x F!Reader, Captain John Price
Word Count: 1,112
Notes:
For those who haven’t read Part 1, here it is.
Lots of swearing and mentions of physical injuries. Other than that, it’s fluff.
Want more?
———————————————————————
Yup. Unfortunately, the Captain had to get involved in the end.
Not just him, though; an entire room full of trained soldiers had to jump in and separate Ghost from almost strangling Lt. Wilson, or “Mr Toothless,” as he often referred to him.
Why “Mr Toothless”, you may ask? Well, Ghost decided to baptize the new lieutenant with that nickname for a couple of reasons.
First, he took your comment about Wilson’s fake teeth to heart. “If they’re fake,” he reasoned, “that means the fucker is already toothless and wears veneers to cover ’em up.”
And when you told him that’s not true since some people undergo cosmetic surgery to improve something they might have suffered an injury from, Ghost came up with his second reason as to why the new lieutenant is—or rather will be—toothless.
“Might have suffered an injury?” He contemplated. “Well, he’s about to suffer another one when I knock them out again.”
So, it was either “Mr. Toothless over there” or “Mr. Future Toothless one again.” Whatever the case, Ghost never called him by his real name, which started to piss off Lt. Wilson a whole lot. And that’s how it all escalated.
The breaking point came while at the briefing room, with Price at the head of the table and the two lieutenants seated across from each other. The rest of the team was strategically scattered around, avoiding being too close to Riley or Wilson. They were like furnaces, ready to burst at any time and burn you along with them, so you all figured it was best to stay as far away from them as possible.
Price was dividing the teams for the new mission: Team Alpha (Ghost’s Team) had to reach the target’s point by air, while Team Bravo (Wilson’s Team) would travel by land. The tipping point was when Price absentmindedly assigned you to Wilson’s team. Being Ghost’s Achilles’ heel, you were enough to light up a spark in the furnace. Wilson, on the other hand, was, in fact, a motherfucker. He knew that you, being assigned to his team, would piss Ghost off, so he turned towards you and winked upon hearing your name.
“Awesome,” he said, “doll’s with me.”
“Call them a doll again,” Ghost replied, “and I’ll make you as shiny and smooth as a Ken.” A threat that seemed nonsensical then but became clearer over time. And it wasn’t funny at all. See, Ken dolls lack organs, including a brain, heart, and, as Ghost hinted, a certain... anatomical feature.
And, as you stand in front of Ghost at Price’s office, tending to his cut lip and bruised eye, questions swirl in your mind. First and foremost, why is Ghost so obsessed with Lt. Wilson’s bones and limps? How was he planning to execute such a horrendous action? And how did he manage to leap onto the table and kick Wilson in the face like Leonidas did in the movie “300”?
“You fucked up big time, Simon,” Price warns Ghost as he paces around the room with his hands on his waist.
“He started it,” Ghost retorts.
“No,” Price shouts, running towards Ghost and inching away from his bruised-up face, “you landed the first kick, and then things escalated faster than a wildfire in a dry forest.”
Ghost sighs. “How is he?” He asks.
You look at him, shocked. This guy amazes you. All he wanted was to kick Wilson right in the face, and now he’s worried about his health.
“He is fucked; that’s how he is,” Price replies, “and you’re fucked too.”
“What’ll happen now?” Ghost asks
Price lets out a sharp chuckle. Not one of entertainment, for sure. Something that hints you’re both about to find out.
“I’m relieving Lt. Wilson of his duties in the field and relocating him to another position,” the Captain announces.
“Good,” Ghost replies. “At least he’ll be out of my business for a while.”
“Oh, on the contrary brother,” Price smirks, “he’ll be all up in your business now.”
You stop treating Ghost’s wound and turn to Price. “W-where exactly are you relocating, Lt. Wilson, Captain?” You ask, confused.
Price approaches you and wraps an arm around your shoulder, now both facing Ghost.
“I’m putting Wilson in the same office as you two,” Price says, smiling. “That is until you and him sort out your… issues.”
Ghost doesn’t react. He stretches his neck while looking at Price.
“You think I wouldn’t find out what the apple of discord was?” Price whispers at Ghost, “You and him either become best friends, or you’re both out.” He says. He removes his hand from your shoulder, adjusts his hat, nods at you, and walks out of the room.
You turn towards Ghost, who’s now leaning on his legs, looking at the floor.
“Look at me,” you command, “I still need to patch that lip of yours.”
He obeys and looks up. You sigh. As much as you trust Price and his strategic decision to put the three of you in the same room, you fear that the ball is now in your field. Juggling Ghost’s outbursts was something you learned to handle with skill and prowess. But including Lt. Harris in the equation is like putting two starving lions in a cage with an antelope.
“Why?” You ask, as you treat his bottom lip, “Why act so stupidly when you know it is you that I fancy?”
He looks away and shrugs. “He called you a doll.”
“And look where we are now, Simon,” you say. “Price gave you your last chance, and we get to have Mr Toothless with us at the office.”
“Won’t be an office anymore, love,” he mutters, “it’ll be a dollhouse full of Barbie and Ken dolls.”
You smile and lift his chin up with your fingers. “So, if I’m Barbie and he’s Ken,” you say, bringing your face closer to his, “who are you?”
“Oh, I’m Action Man, love.” He says and tries to wink with a swollen, already shut, black eye.

Could I request a House fic with the general prompt being a Doctor/Patient pairing? Like House is attracted to (reader) patient. Your choice of fluff or smut
So sorry it's late but this is my first House fic so I wanted it to be good! Hope you like it!
********************************************************************
Dying's Easy
House x reader

a/n - my first House pairing fic so let me know what you think!
Masterlist
REQUESTS OPEN - request here
Your whole body ached and felt like your blood had been drained and replaced twice over. You tried to curl up onto your side, in search of the comfort you received from such a childlike pose. But the wires and your fragile bones screamed for you to stop. You fell back onto the bed as tears of frustration poured down your cheeks.
A knock from a distinctly wooden object halted your crying. Upon seeing the face of your doctor you quickly wiped away your tears. But he had already seen.
He limped forward and place a chocolate pudding cup and spoon in the space between your hands. Before moving away he squeezed one of your bony hands, a little part of him sunk at the feel of your fragility.
“I got you a present.” He gestured to the dessert with his cane.
You looked at him suspiciously. “They’re free for patients.”
“I never said I paid for the present. Does our love mean so little that you must attach monetary value to it.” He dramatically placed his hand to his heart in faux hurt.
You giggled. “Thank you.” He smiled at the flicker of joy but his frown returned when he saw your hands uselessly attempt to open the cup in spite of their shaking. He rose and took the cup and opened it for you.
You gave him the sweetest smile you could muster but sunk down in the realisation of your inability to complete the task.
He went back and dragged his chair closer to your bed as you slowly tucked in to the delicious treat. Only taking small bites.
You had come to enjoy the frequent visits with your doctor. It seemed he only needed to be with you to soothe his own worries which you saw furrowed on his face. His team had often remarked how unusual his behaviour was, comparing him to manic genius with no sense of empathy. You found their quips funny especially because of how anachronistic they were to the man who helped you fix your pillows any time you so much as squirmed.
“I heard you’re refusing the surgery.” You halted your eating, your face fell. Of course it was this.
“I just don’t want to.”
“You realise you aren’t choosing between some cosmetic alteration, this is the choice between living and dying.”
“Well maybe I don’t want to live.”
“That’s ridiculous everyone wants to live.” He rolled his eyes.
“Living’s tiring.” Your voice became childlike in your admittance. This shocked him as his focus was no solely on you. “I’m tired, Greg.” Your words shook and were on the precipice of falling. He took your shaking hand in his and they lay linked on your bed.
“I know.” He cooed. “I know I’ve been wrong before, but I know I’m right about this. I won for you, now just let me fight it. For you.”
You still couldn’t bring yourself to look into his eyes, afraid you’d crumble.
“Being alive is the worst.” You giggled at his dark quip. “But dying is the easy way out.” He used a finger to gently poke your cheek as you tried to contain your smile. “And I never took you for a coward.”
He sat there with you for a full hour. You dropped in and out of sleep but he couldn’t bring himself to let go of your hand.
Eventually Cameron came to prep you for surgery. House still did not let go.
You lay on the table and the surgeons bustled around you, the anaesthetist approached with the gas. House stood next your head and softly stroked your eyelids to offer some comfort.
“Just one thing.” You managed out. “If I don’t wake up, there’s something I’d regret not doing. Can you kiss me?”
House was stunned for a moment and looked around at the surgeons managing one ear on the interesting turn of events. He carefully leaned down and planted the softest kiss onto your cracked dry lips. As soon as you connected he felt the stress leave your body and you welcomed whatever was to come. The gas mask was placed over your nose and mouth.
“See you in a bit.” House teased.
********************************************************************
Your heavy lids fought open and your blurry vision focused on the outline of your hospital room. Despite the post surgey pain, you could sense that everything else was gone. You were going to be okay. You strained your neck to turn to the side where your eyes landed on House, who’s bedraggled clothes indicated where he had slept waiting for you.
“Welcome back.”
You reached out a weak arm and cupped his cheek.
“Thank you.”

I took notes while playing and I've tried to edit them into something that makes a shred of sense.
Things I like in Veilguard:
Banter can be interrupted, and they'll continue talking. If you repeatedly interrupt, they'll start over from the beginning later on.
The banter also actually made me laugh, especially with certain companion combos. Not always but more often than not.
The companions aren't stuck in their room. You know when someone wants to talk to you or has a cutscene, but you'll also see them hanging out with other companions or just checking out places around the Lighthouse. Makes them feel like actual people with their own stuff going on outside of Rook. But I do wish you could talk to them more. I like bothering my companions. I'm fine with them repeating themselves. Just let me smooch my love interest or chat with my friends and get random flavour text. Is that so much to ask?
I like the orb and smashing enemies in the face with it. I actually prefer it most of the time to using the staff.
Can wear casual clothes instead of armour with no repercussions. Finally, some cute outfits. But not cute enough. Need more. I also miss dying outfits in different colours and dressing up my team.
It's not my fav but it's fine:
I miss being able to smooch my love interest whenever I wanted to. Let me bother everyone more. The romances are fine but I expected more in comparison to previous games.
Everyone hangs out with each other or all together (eat together, bookclub etc) but is Rook even involved? The camping trip scene was so weird. Ferelden is overrun. Where are you going? Why would these two even want to? I could maybe believe Taash being interested because they're adventurous and might be hoping to see a dragon, but even then it's so weird.
Semi related to Taash's personal storyline, I did not appreciate having words put in my Rook's mouth re: her feelings about her gender and I have seen others saying that when they play as an enby Rook it's very "third gender" rather than having any sort of nuance. This is why I'm always hesitant when companies are so proud of being inclusive, it's often so clumsy.
References:
Mage/Templar war was in the South but no one mentions really mentions much about the South. Varric?? Morrigan?? Inquisitor?? There are some letters and a few lines about what's happening but not much. Who got to be Divine, again more of a Southern issue but you think it would come up when talking to Harding or Varric. Drinking from the Well of Sorrrows. Morrigan's son. King Alistair or Grey Warden. Hawke in the Fade. Varric, my man, are we not friends? Harding, you were there even if you were just a scout! Surely you got the hot goss hanging around outside the tavern at all hours.
Surely even people in Tevinter would be talking about how the Inquisitor's old spymaster became the Divine?? Harding sort of mentions it but no one else. The Inquisitor coming along to be like "oh it's a shitshow in the South right now that's why I'm not helping you or trying to find Solas" is so stupid.
The references you do get are fine but some feel strange because they're specific enough for a fan to get them but vague enough to feel pointless because they abandoned the Keep and tracking everyone's choices. I know it's complicated because we've all played the games in a variety of ways but they started it!
I wish we had seen more of the countries. I liked the places we saw and I really enjoyed exploring them, I would have liked to see more though which is a good thing in a way? I wasn't bored by the places we got, more than they were intriguing and I wished to go further. I would have liked to see more of Minrathos outside of Dock Town, for example.
Cameos:
Re: cameos. Dorian's model looks like he got bad cosmetic surgery and veneers. What did they do to you?? However, I also hate how Alistairs looks in Inquisition so maybe I just don't like when they try to update old characters? Morrigan looks fine, but her outfit is ugly. Isabela is fine. Varric and Harding look good.
Are we unable to have cameos of characters (or references), such as Merrill, because the team are blood magic flip-floppers? She knew so much about Eluvians, blood magic, Dalish nonsense etc. She would have been a fantastic edition to the team in Inquistion and in Veilguard but apparently I can't have anything nice.
Romances:
The romances are good but once I picked my person it was weird seeing how Lucanis switched to Neve almost instantly AND how their chemistry was so much better just through banter and listening to their chats. Almost like that's what the writers intended originally and then made Rook an option later? Davrin has a sweet romance and I have heard good things about Emmerich.
Companions:
Still think I should be able to have three people tag along. Yes, it makes them just talk to each other for banter but I liked having three people.
I wish they would bicker more. Some characters are supposed to not like each other (at least for a while) but they really could have leaned into that more. Be meaner. However, saying that some fans couldn't handle Vivienne...
My main issue with all the companions is that they're really good but don't get the chance to be great. I'm assuming because of development issues. Any decent writer would want to make the most of a character. You can see what they wanted to do and what they managed is good. I feel like the writers pulled their punches too much. They could have really leaned into some ideas and expanded on some aspects so much more but didn't. They all needed an extra ten minutes to fully bake.
Taash's personal stuff is fine. It's a little awkward in places but it's nowhere near as awful as people are making it out to be. It's no worse than anyone else's personal storyline or dialogue. A lot of the criticism is over-dramatic HOWEVER I do feel like their struggles were more with their upbringing as the daughter of a strict mother (who says herself that she was never supposed to have that sort of role within the Qun) in Rivain and those two identities cause conflict, and that was really overshadowed. A lot of Taash's struggles with gender make sense when you consider how gender roles function under the Qun (how their mother would have raised them) versus how they are in Rivaini society (what she was exposed to outside of the home). That's not to say they aren't nonbinary otherwise, just that the conflict could have been woven together better.
I also didn't really like the binary choices you were presented with - why do I, a stranger, get to tell any of these people what to do with their lives? I think Rook can have an opinion but there should be a third option for the character to make their own choice, perhaps based on their approval level with you or something to at least feign free will. This felt particularly insensitive when talking to Taash.
I also think some people are forgetting or deliberately ignoring that Taash is not the only lgbt or nonbinary character in the game or the series as a whole.
But, I do also think there are awkward moments (for all the characters too) where I understand what the team was going for but it doesn't quite land right. I would have actually liked a little more focus on what it's like being a qunari in Rivain etc.
Lucanis is supposed to be a big scary mage-killing demon-possessed assassin but once you recruit him he's practically shuffling about in his fuzzy slippers making coffee at 4am. I really like him but I can't help but wish they hadn't sanded down the edges. Having the Crows fight for the little guys is certainly a choice. I would have preferred them go down more of a "these Crows in this particular family think this way" so as not to undermine everything about Zevran.
Other thoughts:
It feels like the backgrounds don't really matter, they're not referenced much anyway. I was a veil jumper so you'd think Bellara would want to chat to me about that sort of thing more but no, not really. Same with race choices. It does come up but not as much as I had hoped. I also miss the tension between races, backgrounds etc. Why am I, a Dalish elf, wandering around Minrathos unchallenged?
Where's Meredith??? We had that final shot in the animated series but that's it???
What happened to Solas' agents and the uprising? I know years have passed but you'd think there's been more turmoil considering 1. the gods are real and 2. they suck
TL;DR
I had a great time playing, and it was really fun. I actually really enjoyed the finale and the game overall. But, I am concerned that this was essentially a soft reboot and so now what? What about everything we did before? What about all those other characters we cared about?
I also think I got lucky by choosing to have my Solavellan Inquisitor and romancing Davrin, just judging my chatter online.
I think if they didn't want those choices to matter then they should have had this game hav a protagonist who has no connection to Southern Thedas at all. No Varric or Harding. Have them being a literal nobody who doesn't know anything about what's going on outside of what they've directly experienced or it's very vague. They were affected by Solas' actions. They're an elf who was an agent until they realised what he was doing. Something. I just... if you don't want to make a game where choices matter then you shouldn't be working on Dragon Age. You should make something new. This was always Bioware's whole selling point and they've just tossed all that work to one side. Who made that decision?
Imagine if we'd been forced into being a specific character, similar to Hawke in DA2, and had to actually decide whether or not to support Solas as we learned about what he was actually intending to do? Imagine.
Origins still has the strongest writing. DA2 is still my favourite. But I do think Veilguard is a good sequel to Inquisiton. Unfortunately for Bioware, this is the fourth game in a series not the second. As a fourth game, there are some really weird choices. On it's own, it's a really good game. I'm still going to get my partner to play some of it to see what they think as an outsider who only knows about Dragon Age via my chit-chat and reblogging.

I’d like to hear about Bill’s dad being intersex!
Anonymous asked: just in case no one else has asked about it yet: how *is* bill's dad intersex? All the bill home dimension world building lore is so fascinating
Okay here you go!!
(For reference for anyone who hasn't been watching me gradually infodump over the months: I've decided to chuck "lines are Just Girls and polygons are Just Boys out the window" and am headcanoning that each individual polygon is considered a separate sex. Reproduction just happens to require 1 line and 1 of any of a multitude of polygon sexes, because I'm more interested in overhauling the social category of gender than I am in inventing new reproductive methods.)
So with a few exceptions, typically a polygon will inherit either his dad's polygon genes, or unexpressed-but-still-present polygon genes in his mom's DNA. So a hexagon dad and a mom with invisible octagon genes will usually either have a hexagon or an octagon.
(This helped give rise to the now-debunked myth that the number of sides in a family's sons "should" go up with each generation; it's a lot harder for a line to marry up than to marry down, so you'd frequently see, say, the daughter of a pentagon marrying a square; and then if half their sons are squares and half are pentagons, hey! The sides are increasing somehow! Meanwhile that line's pentagonal brothers are typically marrying the daughters of hexagons, and some of their sons are coming out hexagons... You see how they might have gotten the wrong idea when they didn't understand how genetics works.)
Just like in humans, sometimes you can get identical twins if a growing shape splits in half during pregnancy; and if it happens just late enough that the shape's sides have already grown... sometimes you might get, for example, two baby trapezoids rather than one baby hexagon.
This means that they're socially considered quadrilaterals, and will likely be raised that way; but they've got hexagon genes, and their children would turn out hexagonal, not quadrilateral.
And it affects more than their DNA; in this situation, a trapezoid twin's internal organs would looks like 1/2 of a hexagon's organs rather than like a normal quadrilateral's internal organs.
For a long time, identical twins were considered a family tragedy—your children lost several generations of sides AND came out irregular! After the genes at work became better understood, two "symmetrical twins" were considered as regular as a singlet regular shape.
By modern times you have the usual morass of "well what shape are they REALLY???" and poor medical understandings of how their bodies work; a higher acceptance of irregularity has reduced but not eliminated medically unnecessary cosmetic surgeries.
Bill's dad slid around the "well are you really a hexagon or a trapezoid" issue by going "I'm a rectangle, actually."
It shows how much society's evolved since Victorian times that a hexagon can father two visually irregular quadrilaterals and one of them fathers a triangle and the grandparents are just like "great!! that's a damn cute triangle!"
"How much of this will be relevant in what you're writing?" god probably none of it

So, it is almost the end of open enrollment for people in the US getting health insurance through the marketplace.
I have, for two months, been trying to find a dentist for my normal six months cleaning and exam. Something theoretically covered by my current plan, which says it covers adult and pediatric, but it has proven almost impossible to find a non-pediatric provider. And if dental coverage on my plan is non-existent due to lack of in network providers I am going to change my plan for 2025. Because why pay for coverage you don't get.
This is how it has gone with "in network dentists":
Originally no non-pediatric providers were available except for dental surgery (not covered, not what I need anyways).
One dentist who does exist but no one online can agree as to where his office is or what his phone number is and apparently no one has ever gone to him.
One dentist does exist but does not provide basic dental service as the insurer insists they do, because he only does cosmetic dentistry.
Four dentists who do not exist in this state, maybe at all.
Finally two dentists who do exist but whose online reviews basically say you might as well Tom Hanks in Cast Away your teeth because that would be better and less painful.
One dentist who is actually a radiologist or a non-dental surgeon on the opposite side of the state.
The practice this last non-dentist supposedly works out of has a practice name that doesn't exist anywhere in the state. But the name it "changed to recently" does exist and has had their name for years and years and two of their dentists *are* covered by my insurance but the office has no idea who the person is that the insurance says works there.
And I have to *call* to find names because the website of covered providers lists no one, and they only want to give two provider names at a time when I do call.
So yeah, non-USians, this is what it is like getting basic preventative care in the US. This is why nearly our whole adult population reacted positively to Brian Thompson's death.
ETA: it would surprise me exactly zero amount if providers only "became available" because open enrollment is closing soon and they are losing customers over this.

Pageant Politics from your fav radfem
Beauty Pageants have been the battleground for discourse regarding that of gender, power, and identity within the broader context of feminist movements, reflecting the societal obsession with female beauty which acts as the manifestation of patriarchal control over women’s bodies.
The origins themselves of beauty pageants and contests can be traced back to both the mediaeval period but also to that of ancient mythological traditions where female beauty was the focal point of cultural narratives, for instance contests as such were referenced in greek mythology; symbolising the roots of such idealisation and competition of beauty. However, the modern americentric beauty pageant which is relevant as a case study owed much of its development and early cultivation to P. T. Barnum who endeavoured to host a beauty pageant in 1854, although it was met with public disapproval it is said to have laid the groundwork for future pageant cultures. Barnum’s vision shifted the idea of the beauty contest from a mere cultural ideal and towards a commercialised spectacle.
This rise within mass media and popular culture is what gave rise to the emanation of Miss America in 1921 as it was originally brought about in order to extend Atlantic City’s tourist season. Evolving from a local promotional event and into a national spectacle, it became a symbol of American values surrounding beauty, femininity, and success. Leading to the commodification of female bodies and the reduction of them to objects of male desire through pageant cultures.
In somewhat ironic fashion, pageant culture shares a historical lineage with that of the women’s suffrage movement, wherein the suffragists of the early 20th century used pageantry as a means of political activism. And when the pageant, Miss America, was initially established in 1921 they used a sash which was their most recognisable and integral feature yet instead of bearing the political slogans that their predecessors fashioned, their sashes were adorned with the names of cities and states.
Naomi Wold sets forth the idea of a so-called “beauty myth” as a more modern means of control in the wake of the gains made by the second wave feminist movement. Her argument hinges on the basis that beauty is not universally or naturally standardised but a cultural construct designed to enforce and maintain gender hierarchies.
She introduces the notion of the “iron maiden” which describes the unattainable ideal of beauty which entraps women in relentless cycles of both self doubt but also regulation.
This is corroborated later by Bordo who analyses the body as a site of cultural inscription and aligns this with Wolf’s contention that female bodies are the vessels of patriarchal control. Bordo expands on this through her evaluation on how eating disorders, cosmetic surgery, and body modifications all reflect the pressures which discipline female bodies into conformity with patriarchal ideals.
One can look at this through Foucault’s concept of biopower, as Foucault explores the way in which power is not only filtered through and operated through institutions but also through the body and self-regulation. He proposes that modern forms of power and less overt and external but rest more on the subtle and internalised forms of discipline, a form a power which operates not through explicitly domination but through the shaping of the norm which leads individuals to regulate themselves to these prescribed norms. Therefore, beauty standards which are set forth by pageant culture operate as a form of biopower and on a collective level which has the ability to govern the behaviour and choices of women on mass decrees. Wolf’s propounded idea of the beauty myth not only oppresses women to an external degree but infiltrates their consciousness under the guise of personal choice or empowerment.

About Weeping Clown's Deduction 5
Acid attacks were a regular if not common occurrence in 19th century Britain, back then known as vitriol throwing, after oil of vitriol, the common name for strong sulphuric acid, an oily liquid heavier than water which was colorless when entirely pure. Nitric acid was also common, which could also be a colorless liquid. Both had a number of legitimate uses.
Acids were mass-manufactured, easily available (and cheap), and generally unregulated until the early twentieth century.
Acid attacks were quite frequent between the 1850s and 1899. Common motivations included personal conflict, jealousy, revenge, etc… Almost without exception, it was thrown at the head, neck, and upper body, sometimes directly in the face.
Didn't become a felony to burn, main, disfigure, or disable anyone with a corrosive fluid or destructive substance, or attempt to do so, until the Offences Against Person Act of 1861.
The severity of the damage depends on the concentration of the acid and the time before the acid is thoroughly washed off with water or neutralized with a neutralizing agent.
It mutilated and maimed victims by destroying skin and supporting tissues; its corrosive action could liquefy muscle and dissolve bone. It combined with water in organic matter, generating a considerable amount of heat, to which the resulting damage was in part due—a charring effect that caused noticeable blackening. If the acid got into the eyes it caused blindness. If the injuries were extensive victims could be permanently disabled; those who recovered were likely to be badly disfigured, with no hope of regaining a semblance of their former appearance prior to the advent of plastic surgery.
In 1930 a horrified witness described how a victim’s skin sizzled and moved as the acid acted.
Although vitriol throwing was certainly painful, it was rarely fatal (poisoning/ingestion is different).
Vitriol throwing continued until the Second World War, after which it became much less frequent. The Pharmacy and Poisons Act of 1933 restricted the sale of strong acid, so weaker corrosive fluids were used.
---
As for the lead paint:
Many cosmetics back in the day contained a variety of chemicals, including ammonia, mercury, opium, arsenic, and lead.
People commonly used lead-based makeup on their skin to look paler, especially upper class white women who chased even whiter skin due to victorian beauty ideals, to show how their privilege never left them working in the sun.
The corrosive nature of lead would leave your skin damaged and in far worse shape after every use, requiring you to use more and more to cover up its effects.
Side effects of lead poisoning, besides creating wounds and scars, include severe headaches, nerve illnesses, memory loss, pain and numbness, and if ingested in large enough quantities, will cause paralysis and death. In children, it also affected their body development and neurological issues.
These thick layers of make-up cracked like porcelain if a woman was too expressive.

BDKO Earthspark headcanons
((some headcanons and ideas for a hypothetical BDKO in Earthspark. Some ideas I may use in that summary fic I've been doing.))
Breakdown left the stunticons to work with and be with Knock Out in the medical ward. Motormaster and the others are toootally cool with this! Yep! No lingering grudges at all.
During the war Megs had forbidden his forces from being "indiscreet" with each other in order to maintain discipline. Thus Breakdown and Knock Out became conjunx in secret. (Or alternatively they were junxies in everything but name and were just holding out for a chance to make things official).
Knock Out initially only wanted to recruit breakdown to get back at motormaster over some grudge. Turned out Breakdown was actually pretty good at his job, respected knock outs skills, as well as just being genuinely good company so he wound up keeping him around.
KOs and BDs "courtship" period was hilariously short. It took maybe a few months to a year at most for them to get pretty serious about being together.
Or at least their official unofficial secret courtship was that short. In reality BD had been crushing on KO for awhile and kept finding excuses to go see him. (This could have even been what caused the grudge between Motormaster and KnockOut) Though he only really got to know him after starting to work for him.
While they love each other and are a good couple KO and BD has some pretty significant secrets between them.
KO has let it be known that he was a very accomplished cosmetic surgeon back on Cybertron who was like totally rubbing elbows with all the big names and was Uber rich and hot and everyone wanted him etc etc and joined the decepticons because it was all just too boring. None of this is true.
In reality he was an illegal back alley surgeon from the lowest rung of society who never even went to medical school. He essentially self taught himself medicine and surgery by digging through the scraps of the victims of the gladiator games and illegal racing ring and making money selling and installing the parts. And he joined the decepticons to escape his debt collectors who he owed an arm and a leg. Several arms and legs. Many of them belonging to other people.
Megatron is aware of Knockouts true history due to his own gladiatorial days but doesn't correct his fabricated history since he needs as many combat meds as he can get.
Knock Out is terrified that if Breakdown learns of his real history then he'll think less of him and so guards it carefully.
Breakdown meanwhile doesn't hide anything about his history but does downplay how bad it really was under Motormaster and working with the other stunticons. To say that the team had a toxic abusive dynamic is putting it mildly and BD views leaving them for KO to be one of the best decisions he ever made. Because of that though he never talks about his experiences with the stunticons and hides some of the worst effects.
Beyond that breakdown also just has no real experience with romantic relationships. He lets on that he does but in reality he's a bit immature and doesn't fully know what a serious relationship with knock out would require from his end.
Edit: small edition but numerous people who find out about the twos secret relationship don't initially approve due to things not exactly sounding great out of context and the fact that their courtship period was so short.
Lol just think some drama between them is fuuuun

Since I'm not sure if I'll ever get the chance to properly touch on this in a fic because it's more character analysis than something I can properly include in dialogue/exposition without it being very awkwardly out of place and telling not showing, I figured I'd just dump it here. It's something I think about a lot whenever I write for post-Seed Destiny Athrun in a fic, because in so many ways, this is actually something of a non-magical "Ideal (Fake) Reality" situation that Durandal very nearly succeeded in pulling off, but ultimately failed at because Durandal overplayed his hand and underestimated Athrun's loyalty to his friends Kira, who was pulling triple duty opposing Athrun because Kira himself didn't agree with what Athrun was doing, protecting Cagalli, and supporting Cagalli at a time when she was powerless.
It's a trope I very much love in magical/sci-fi settings because it says a lot about the character and the lengths they'll go to get what they want (the willingness and determination to take the longer, harder path to make the dream reality vs the instant gratification option even if it's fake), and also just gives me so much to work with when I write when it comes to character motivation/dialogue/actions.
I feel like a lot of this gets missed in all the memes that he's (somewhat deservedly) suddenly a part of after Seed Freedom, because while Seed Freedom Athrun is very self-assured and confident in his course of action, he definitely took a long hard road (with more downs than ups, in my opinion) between Seed and Seed Destiny to get there.
(Rest behind the cut because there's a reason Athrun Zala is my favorite Seed character, and not just because he's got a lovely voice - thank you Ishida-san for that - and is easy on the eyes.)
When Athrun re-enlists in ZAFT and "continues" his life again as himself, he's given a choice thanks to Durandal's string-pulling: Resume the life that was planned for him by his parents and PLANT (his "destined" life, if you will), or find his way back to the life that he's chosen for himself (with Cagalli and Orb).
If he chose his "old" life, he would've had it all - the glory of being a decorated war veteran, a post as a FAITH member (resuming the role he'd previously gotten thanks to his father), a "Lacus Clyne" for his fiance, and the honor of being the pilot of the Legend (while being something of a "legend" himself). Durandal saw to it Athrun would've seamlessly resumed that life to all external appearances, even if it would've been an absolute sham behind closed doors. Athrun might be a decorated war veteran, but that came with a lot of trauma and grief - trauma from having to fight and kill at such a young age, grief at being the one to survive when those he'd called friends die around him, plus all the unresolved emotional turmoil and grief of having never been able to properly resolve things with his father and his genocidal ideals (because Patrick Zala, too, was a man who never got over his grief at losing Lenore during the Bloody Valentine Incident, and only became the way he did because of that). He might've had a highly coveted position within FAITH, but that power would ultimately be in service to Durandal (a head of state Athrun alternates between wanting to agree with and being directly at odds against). Durandal needed more capable "Yes men" ace pilots like Shinn Asuka to spread and enforce his plans, not people capable of thinking for themselves like Athrun (at least, Athrun got there after Operation Angel Down). The "Lacus Clyne", is, of course, Meer under the best cosmetic surgery money could buy, but she is nothing like Lacus Athrun knows and cares for as a friend and whose cause he had once lent his power to (and would again at the end of the Second War).
And the Legend? It might fit Athrun in name only (in the sense that he's the "legendary pilot who helped end the first Earth-PLANT War) but the entire suit (even if it had an updated OS for the DRAGOON system) doesn't even play to Athrun's core strengths as a pilot. It's almost comedic how Durandal didn't even bother tailoring the Legend to Athrun - the Saviour is more Athrun's style both as a spiritual successor to the Aegis and weapons load out, yet it's coincidental that it would end up in Athrun's hands. There's no way Durandal could've known and planned for the Saviour to go to Athrun, but Durandal arguably had that time with the Legend. In the episode where both the Destiny and Legend are revealed, Durandal made a point of telling Shinn the Destiny was fine tuned to him, but neglects to tell Athrun much about the Legend beyond the DRAGOON system and the updated OS for it (the closest Athrun arguably ever came to a DRAGOON system was flying right past Kira and Rau's duel in front of Genesis at the end of Seed).
On the flip side of that, there's the life Athrun had chosen for himself after the first Earth-PLANT War. It's not an ideal life, not by any means - the fact he's essentially a powerless civilian with no means to reach for his ultimate goal chafes him to no end, especially when there's the ever-looming threat of Cagalli getting taken away from him due to circumstances neither of them want nor are able to deal with. Cagalli can't get out of the arranged marriage, Athrun as "Alex Dino" has no claim to power and as "Athrun Zala" would only invite larger scale international problems - even if Athrun himself has no political ties to PLANT, his family name says plenty. Athrun is patient, yes, but even his patience has a limit, and seemingly losing Cagalli to someone he doesn't respect and she doesn't love (in a reversal of Athrun's situation with Lacus and Kira) pushes him to action out of desperation. And while it puts him at odds with Kira and Cagalli (including lashing out at both of them when Cagalli finally breaks down and gives in and gets coerced into going through with the arranged marriage), it does also get him to realize that he's not the same person he was before the war - he's no longer capable of living that same life he had before, where he would fight where his country tells him because that's the fastest way to end the war. The easy (destined, if you will) option is no longer an acceptable choice for him, because it's not the one that ultimately leaves him fulfilled and truly happy with the one he loves in the end.
And it's this that ultimately brings him back to Cagalli and the (Infinite) Justice, metaphorically reclaiming his sense of justice (ha ha). He's always going to be looking for a cause to serve, and a just cause by his own terms, because he's dedicated far too much of his life serving in the military to just stop doing that and he's spent too much time around Lacus to just mindlessly follow whatever the higher ups say, anymore. So this leaves the only way forward: serve under a head of state whose ideals he can agree with, with the freedom of choice to act according to his own sense of justice, and to that end, there's only one choice for him - return to Orb and Cagalli.
#gundam seed destiny#athrun zala#asucaga#ish mostly because it's impossible for me to write an essay on athrun without mentioning his relationship with cagalli#i have so many thoughts about athrun#while i do find it amusing fandom perception of athrun went from indecisive chick magnet to cagalli's number 1 simp#there's more to him than that that's lost in the quagmire that is seed destiny#and it's all things i try to bring out or hint at when I write him#also the whole Durandal gives Athrun the Legend thing will never be not hilarious#dude has everything planned down to a T with the Destiny Plan and the best he can do is assign Athrun the Legend?#like talk about obvious I know you've betrayed me energy#i tried to keep this essay as focused as possible#even if i have a million thoughts running in my head like hamsters in a wheel because i've loved seed since i saw it back in 2003#okay i'm bordering on an essay in the tags too so i'll just shut up and post this now and ramble more later lol

"Hi, my name is Shape. I started identifying as transgender at 22 while still in college. Before that, I was just a feminine gay man.
Being asked about my pronouns led me to research transgender ideology, and pretty quickly I got convinced that I was [a] transgender woman.
I was able to get hormones relatively easily through Fenway Health and was only on them for a year before receiving facial feminization and breast augmentation surgeries at 23.
Taking hormones actually worsened my mental health, but therapists thought that it was because I was stuck in the wrong body. They cleared me for sex-reassignment surgery by diagnosing me with Gender Identity Disorder.
Immediately after SRS, I was super-excited to start a new life. I was happy for a few months while recovering, however soon I realized that my new part wasn't what doctors promised me.
My neo vagina started constricting despite rigorous dilation, which resulted in me developing vaginal stenosis. This left me unable to have penetrative sex, which adversely impacted my mental health. I also lost my sex drive, my motivation to achieve anything, and became brain-fogged and lethargic.
I had multiple unsuccessful revisions attempting to get a few inches of neo vaginal tunnel. I even had colon vaginoplasty. The last revision was at the University of Miami by Dr. Christopher Sargara in 2018, and it left me with a colorectal fistula.
I've been all over the country trying to seek help but I have received none.
Earlier this year after hitting rock bottom with my depression, I reached out to a new therapist. The therapist helped me realize that I have Complex PTSD from a traumatic childhood, and also pointed out that I have body dysmorphia, OCD, borderline personality and bipolar disorders. I also realized I had internalized homophobia.
I realize now that medical transition was sold to me as a hardware fix for software issues.
A few months ago I started detransitioning by taking testosterone, however it is traumatic to be on testosterone without having functional genitals. Moreover, my back hurts every day due to osteoporosis and scoliosis that I developed post-SRS.
I'm now dependent on synthetic hormones for life. I traded my perfectly healthy genitals for an artificial 1-inch tunnel that is sexually non-functional.
I realize that I'm never getting back a functional penis, and full detransition is not really possible in my case. I feel stuck in a surgically created body.
I believe nobody under 18 should be allowed to medically transition. Sex-reassignment surgery should only be allowed in very rare cases after full psych evaluations. Patients should be made aware that what they're really getting is cosmetic surgery, and it's a genital approximation surgery that does not change biological sex.
Thank you."
==
What do you do when you're a detransitioner who can't detransition?
Meet Shape Shifter. His body has an open wound that it keeps trying to close over, because it's not supposed to be there.
This isn't "healthcare," it's cosmetic surgery. It's no more "healthcare" than getting a new haircut is a cure for depression.

(A Totally Serious) Gintama Moms Tier List
Because everyone makes tier lists these days
Hinowa: She's the mom™ of the kid™ in the series. Not only was she ready to die for Seita, but she was willing to go through hell for many years as long as he was okay, even if he wasn't her biological son. She's later seen taking care of him and they love each other very much.
Otose: One of her characteristics is her big heart and her willingness to adopt strays. That's how she ended up with a NEET, a thief and a robot as children. Reason for losing points: she's an old hag.
Hachirou's Mother: Had an arc dedicated to her and her motherly attitudes. She's very caring and very annoying, and didn't mind that her son had many cosmetic surgeries. Reason for losing points: Her moles aren't buttons that can make her disappear.
Tae: She had to take care of Shinpachi when she herself was still a child that needed to be taken care of. Judging by the result and how much he loves her, she did a great job. Reason for losing points: Her poisonous food.
Saigo: After the death of her wife, she decided to adopt the role of father and mother, changing not only her appearance, but also her lifestyle. Reason for losing points: Uses a fundoshi.
Kouka: Little by little, she sacrificed her life for her children. Even when she was sick, she tried to provide the best life possible for Kamui and Kagura, who loved her deeply. Reason for losing points: She dies.
Tsukuyo: She declares herself one of the 49 mothers of Seita and was willing to die for him and Hinowa's happiness. Later she adopts the role of aunt or older sister. Reason for losing points: She fed the boy a kunai.
Pinko: Although her son isn't biological and she became a mother through an arranged marriage, she was willing to kill for him. Reason for losing points: She's isn't real.
Mitsuba: We don't know much about her circumstances, other than that she'd to raise Sougo since she was young and she was sick, but they clearly loved each other very much. Reason for losing points: Sougo.
Hermit's Mother: She cares enough about her son to play along with all his idiocies, even though he's a mess as an adult. Reason for losing points: Has a beard.
Terakado Ichi: She's Otsu's mom. Reason for losing points: Threatened to kill her daughter if she didn't break up with her boyfriend, posing as a crazy fan.
