To be honest I never really understood the "Eichi started the war because he liked Wataru and couldn't be normal about it" thing because like??????????????? What's the war going to do about that?????? What is Eichi getting out of antagonising Wataru and his only friends to the public and almost working himself into an early grave???? How would Eichis relationship with Wataru benefit from holding public executions for half of the eccentrics and turning them into scapegoats and actively declaring his unit as an "enemy" of theirs???? In what world would that be a successful courting ritual I mean I understand Eichi can be extra and Wataru is the definition of the word but genuinely how does that entire train of thought make sense???? Eichi is a lot of things but he's not stupid. The man has the common sense to not do All Of That just for the sake of getting closer to one individual in a way that would never ever work on anyone with some semblance of common sense. The Tomoya Sanctuary incident happened because Eichi was jealous and couldn't be normal aboout it.
And not even to mention how, if the aforementioned was the case, that would also never have worked with Wataru because the reason Wataru was so in on his role was because he knew it was serving a greater purpose. He's not the type to go along with a plan like that simply to satisfy some other guys strange ways of showing his admiration via turning the object of his affections and aforementioneds friends into social outcasts. He's not the type. And neither is Eichi.
That entire train of thought would make absolutely no sense if taken beyond the "haha funny joke" stage
#I mean of course I am aware it really is just a joke for the funsies#and I understand that but it's just I never really understood where it came from cause#Like????#correct me if I'm wrong here god knows I'm not up to the proper ways of how romance works#but that does not seem to be it#it also does Eichi a massive disservice because it would imply he's a selfish entitled brat who sees no problem with doing#ALL of that#just so he could? What?#What would he gain from this?#He wouldn't gain anything from this#why would you go through all of that trouble if it doesn't even serve a purpose#that's not how that works you don't just do things on such a scale if they don't serve a greater good#I'm really just trying to understand how one would come to the conclusion Eichi started the war because he liked Wataru I just.#don't understand how that would add up....I suppose#wataei

so how did someone older jk and oc celebrate new years? A midnight kiss?? :)))
Warning for suggestive stuff? It's not quite new years celebration but I honestly started to drift off way too much for a drabble haha
"Oh no!" You gasp out, earning Jungkook's immediate attention as he looks towards where you're standing in his kitchen.
"What's wrong?" He asks, while you hide your face behind your hands. "Darling?" He questions, as he gets up to walk towards you, a letter opened on the counter.
"Oh god I'm so sorry-" you tell him, visibly shaken. "I'm really sorry, I don't know why I- I think I thought I was home and opened it-" you rambles, hands shaking. "I didn't even read it, I swear, it was just-"
"Darling, hey, look at me." He tells you, turning you away from the scene of the crime to instead fully face him, hands on your shoulders. "You're fine." He states, makes sure to emphasize, as you go through the same steps you both go through every time things like these happen.
Breathe. This is Jungkook. Nothing is going to happen.
"There we go." He chuckles, squeezing your shoulders for a split second before he lets go. "What is it about?" He wonders easily, taking the letter to read it.
"I.. I don't know." You mumble, still ashamed. "I just.. read the first line and realized that it's not addressed to me- I really don't know why I even opened it-" You again state in defense, but his hand reaches out to pull you closer holding you gently by your waist.
"Its about that new year's celebration. I told them I wouldn't go this year.." he simply sighs, before he throws the letter and envelope away. "And it's understandable. You've been spending quite a lot of time here recently- I'll take it as a compliment that you feel like this is home." He jokes easily, hands on your hips as he grins at you.
"Why- if there's an event you're invited to you should go though?" You ask, but he shakes his head.
"I want to spend it with you." He answers. "Except if you'd like to go with me to that event?" He asks, moving your hair out of your face.
"I.. uhm.. would that even be.. appropriate?" You ask quietly. "Given.. you know. The age difference and all.." you worry, but he shakes his head.
"Its not an issue to me at all, if that's what worries you." He shrugs. "We're both adults. And trust me- our age difference wouldn't be the biggest. One of the investors has a wife almost twenty-five years younger!" He laughs. "Or does it bother you?"
"No, not.. anymore." You admit. "It used to. It felt.. a little intimidating. Sometimes it still does but not as much." You explain.
"I'm glad then." He hums towards you. "So?" He questions. "If you'd like to go, we can. I usually don't like events like these, but if you're there I'd go in a heartbeat." He flirts without realizing it.
"I don't even have.. proper attire. I bet those things are super fancy.." you worry, but he just grins.
"I mean, we still got time. I could call up someone, his wife owns a clothing label, we could go and get something fit for you." He shrugs easily.
"Jungkook, no way!" You gasp. "That.. already sounds way too expensive." You worry.
"Not really. I can just tell her to not mention any cost and you'd never know." He impishly grins, as your back rests against the kitchen counter. "Though.. I'd honestly rather take your.. measurements myself." He purrs, leaning in for a teasing peck.
"I'm just.. that's not.." you stammer, easily overpowered by his recently growing confidence in his pursuit of you. Its clear that he's starting to become comfortable with you to the point of feeling confident in his actions, even in how he reassures you whenever you tend to fall back into old fears.
"Oh but it is. I know exactly what she'd need for a pretty dress." He hums. "And while I already think I know your body like my own.."
"I think I need to make sure I got the measurements correct."

Do you think Mammon (and the other demons) would get confused by modern slang like saying "this is ass" in a negative way or if something is of poor quality
because Mammon likes ass and he'd most likely get confused about it idk
Ah good thing to talk about, anon. This is going to be long I apologize in advance lol
I will lead in with this, apparently when MC said the word "dildo" Satan, Sitri, and Ppyong had no idea what that was and it confused me because like??? Avisos has a literal dildo vending machine wtf you mean ya'll don't know what that is?
And it makes me think they just call stuff like that something else in their language and that's why they were unfamiliar with the term.
So with modern slang and AAVE (yes there is a difference) the devils in this universe would take the phrases very literal and therefore you'd have to explain.
Now, for Mammon when it comes to phrases like that because he does take it literal. My OC Astra uses phrases like "You've got me fucked up" "On God?" "Catch this fade" "Meet me outside" you know the drill. She always has to clarify because otherwise...lol
Mammon's response to "UGH This is ass..." would be "??? I'm pretty sure the only ass here is yours and mine <3" and then you have to explain.
Satan would try to level with you and understand your "funny words". Leviathan hates it when you speak that way because he deems it "too informal to comprehend" but he's just jealous he sounds incredibly stiff when attempting to say the same things. Beelzebub loves phrases like that and intentionally teases you by having you believe he doesn't know what you mean but he does. Belphie may 50/50 understand since he talks hella informal so he just vibes and doesn't ask for you to clarify.
Funny enough I'll tell you anon who I think would know most of every human speech dialect and that's Lucifer, Asmodeus, and Amy.
Lucifer? Due to age, and his observation of human activity. Asmodeus is a no brainer since he spends a lot of time on earth. Amy? Because it's his hobby to study that and he prefers speaking that way to confuse and upset Sitri because he can't stand how "proper" he speaks when there's absolutely nothing wrong with informal speech if you are conveying the same thoughts and feelings correctly.
But you'd never catch him saying skibidi rizzler in the same sentence.
Also bonus: If Minhyeok was into K-pop and the hip-hop/rap culture that's in Korea, he'd know some phrases. Granted you may have to correct him as some times a lot of AAVE is not used properly so it sounds odd. (gyat being the worse offender lately....)
#whb#jwhbasks❓#whb headcanons#whb mammon#phew there's too many to tag so#whb kings#i'd like to think minhyeok would try his best to understand lol

One Piece 1131
It's finally here after the 2 week break!
I'm glad we begin right where we left off, with Luffy and Loki finally having a proper interaction! This instantly made me laugh, Luffy is a certified yapper. His true power really is responding to the most serious and broody of intimidating figures with his silly guy ADHD and making fools out of these try-hards by annoying them. He really is a walking cartoon! I just knew in my heart, turning the page, Loki would cut him off by telling him to shut-up already. This is a classic bit and I live for it.
This also instantly kinda makes Loki more fun of a character to me lmao. Being presented with a scary guy only to immediately kinda make fun of him is Oda's expertise. Nobody is immune to being laughed at a bit, and it does instantly make Loki more charming.
He soon confirms what fans have been theorizing since Water 7; that the Yggdrasil-style-tree that encompasses Elbaf is the Treasure Tree Adam! Nice to finally know for sure, it'll be interesting for the Sunny in a sense to have returned to its "birthplace".
Also interesting how he introduces himself as the "pride of Elbaf's strength" when in the last chapter we learn of him as the "shame of Elbaf". Is it his own ego? Trying to twist the way his people see him? Is this him being a liar similar to Usopp, exaggerating who he is? Or is it his own delusions? It's an interesting contrast, I wonder what the language used here is in the original Japanese.
Loki is also, well... extremely Luffy-like in some ways actually. Being introduced as a "sun god", getting new people's names wrong, and as we'll see later, befriending wild beastly animals... This is an extremely interesting parallel. It seems to me they're already sides of the same coin, and I am soooo intrigued by it going forward.
It seems Loki has really met his match, and I doubt he expected someone like that to show up. Luffy responds to the beasts with nostalgia instead of fear, I wonder how that make the "accursed prince" feel...
Interestingly enough, Loki seems to have a sort of cult or following of human-sized people dedicated to him! They call him master and listen to his commands... maybe they're people who really see him as the Sun God?
Luffy immediately tames the beasts, like he did back during the timeskip! Of course, once he hears Loki insulting Shanks, his good mood seems to go away.
Loki also pulls a "I'm just joking bro, I'm just a silly guy c'moooon, you wouldn't punch a guy tied to a tree would ya? A birthday boy?" when he realized Luffy is actually pretty powerful. Good 'ol Schrodinger's douchebag. He does showcase a lot of duality, acting all mighty and smug towards "puny humans", but then his facade breaks a few times, he twists his reputation and claims he's just joking etc, it does fit the idea of a "trickster" a lot, considering his mythological basis. I'm still struggling to grasp his true personality and goals, and while he does speak the way you'd a expect a villain would... he kind of doesn't feel like he's going to be the main obstacle of the arc to me, and I can't truly explain why.
He also, interestingly, seems to have a negative bounty!? If I read that right, at least. Perhaps the government's way of saying "we don't want him, if you bring him in YOU'LL have to pay us to deal with him" or something??? We'll see if it's indeed a minus or not, it is described as a "special bounty".
Back to the Strawhats on the bridge, Gerd, Goldberg and Rodo seem to be rushing out with the Sunny as fast as possible. I'm assuming they're trying to get to where Harjudin is and explain the situation to him, considering that the ship belongs to their crew's grand fleet commanders. These two are probably mad as hell at Rodo lol. I can't tell if they're chasing him angrily here or what, haha.
Despite Usopp's insistence (and him being correct as always) the group still decides to run away from these giants. Oh Usopp, if only they listened to you, this debacle would be over much quicker. As per usual.
Speaking of Harjudin (and the one missing member of his crew, Stansen), here they are! They're in the same area actually, going for a hunt so they can prepare a feast for the Strawhats! That's kinda sweet, I wonder how the reunion of all separated groups so far will happen.
I wonder if it'll end up going to disaster because of Luffy accidentally freeing Loki or something. Loki did try to convince Luffy to find the key to his seastone chains earlier, but Luffy seemed to kinda ignore him. I wonder if Luffy will end up actually being manipulated, especially after Loki insulted Shanks and pissed him off. Then again, Luffy not only forgives easily, but he is also convinced easily, so who knows!
Back to the giants' ship...... oooooh my god. I think I almost cried. My heart expanded in size seeing this alone, you have no idea how happy I am. She's back. Our girl cut her hair so Saul will recognize her....shut up. Shut UP. That's so sweet, I think I am going to explode. Welcome back bangs Robin I missed you so much. This better be permanent!!!
In which Franky is literally me. I knew it before they confirmed it, it really is about meeting Saul........ I'm going to explode.
But uuuh, bad news. Saul might.... not be in good health? Did he get injured? What does this mean. I swear to god, if something happens to him before Robin gets to see him......... Please god tell me this is going to just be a bit or something, oh god. Ending the chapter here, huh? Straight up evil!!!!
Anyway, I am soooo looking forward the next chapter. I am still... on the fence about Loki being the main Bad Guy. He clearly thinks of himself as a grand destructive force, yes, and looks down upon "puny humans" and the such, sure, and even contemplates about killing Luffy after he is freed if need be, but... I'm just so suspicious of the way he's introduced. Maybe he'll be more of a morally gray anti-hero, or a temporary antagonist. Maybe I'm wrong and he'll indeed be the next pure-evil Doflamingo type threat. But maybe he could even be a "redeemable" Bellamy type character instead. I have no clue, it's way too early to tell. But just seeing the way Luffy just kinda chills with him in some of the panels in this chapter.... I'm kinda hoping it's the latter, they have a charming dynamic. They're already so similar, surely there's more to Loki's story.
After all, this is the guy that was infatuated with a lovable character we know dearly as the audience, Lola, to the point of denying to marry her identical sister. That tells me there's more to this guy than meets the eye. Am I reading too much into it? I could be completely off the mark, but we'll see!

Andrey fic where he gives reader a mini tennis lesson pls
an: thank you for requesting!!! i hope you like it
cw: russian pet names (im pretty sure they are correct as i learned a bit of russian few years ago, but let me know if they are wrong)
You and Andrey sat side by side on a bench by the tennis court where he just finished his practice. Your fingers intertwined, you watched as the last few players finished up their games, leaving the court empty for you.
“I have always wanted to play tennis properly.” you said, not putting much thought to it. Andrey smiled with mischief. “Well, lucky for you, you have your very own personal trainer tight here.” You laughed “You think you are going to teach me?” you tilted your head. “Why not?” Andrey replied “You will be like a pro in no time”.
Few days later, just before the sunset, excitement bubbled up inside you as your boyfriend led you onto the court, his hand on your lower back. "Are you ready for a little tennis lesson?" he asked, his voice warm with affection. “I don’t think I will ever be ready.” Andrey chuckled softly, his heart swelling with love. "I'm here to help you".
With that, Andrey began to guide you through the basics of tennis, his movements graceful as he demonstrated each technique with precision. "Okay, first things first," Andrey began, stepping up beside you. "Let's work on your grip."
He gently adjusted your grip on the racket, his touch sending shivers down your spine. You couldn't help but admire the fluidity of his movements, as he demonstrated the proper stance and swing. You loved to watch him. Visible work of each and every muscle in his body deserved your admiration. "Got it?" Andrey asked, snapping you out of your trance. You nodded eagerly, determined to soak up every word of his instruction. With gentle guidance, he led you through the fundamental techniques of tennis. You started with simple drills, Andrey leading you every step of the way. With each swing of the racket, you felt yourself improving, yet it still wasn’t perfect.
“You’re too stiff” Andrey couldn't help but notice a tension in your movements. “I’m sorry” you said, avoiding any eye contact. “Is everything okay, milaya?” he bent to get a better look at your face that was turned towards the orange clay. "I'm afraid of making mistakes, of letting you down. I guess I don't want you to get angry or frustrated with me. Sorry." it was a common thing for him to lose control a bit if something doesn't go right. Although he never poured his negative emotions on you, you still were a bit hesitant. His heart sank at the thought of you being scared of him. With a gentle touch of his shaky hand he lifted your chin. "Listen to me. I could never be angry with you, especially not when we're out having fun together. I'm here to teach you, to support you. We all make mistakes. And I promise you, no matter what happens, I'll never do anything to you. I swear to God”. He looked deeply into your eyes. Once he saw the worries escape your mind he grabbed and squeezed your hand “Now let’s play and have fun. Trust me”.
As you moved on to more advanced techniques, Andrey's patience never wavered. He praised your progress and offered gentle corrections, his encouragement fueling your determination. “You're doing amazing, Malyshka” or “Rybka! Great serve” definitely made you feel more confident.
Before you knew it, the sky turned dark and it started getting more chilly, signaling the end of your lesson. You couldn't believe how quickly the time had flown by. "I knew you could do it." he whispered, his voice filled with pride as you gathered your things. He gave you his hoodie so you weren’t cold on your way back. “Thank you Andrey, for teaching me” you said as you two left the court, holding hands and both smiling from ear to ear. "No problem, just let me know when you're ready for your next lesson".

bad english btw, not my first language
(note im correcting some words my bad, it was like 2am i think.)
hi, i know this is an art account and im mostly inactive, but i also kinda rant about stuff. sometimes.
so i guess everyone saw the natlan teaser... it was disappointing.
i'm a white latino, first of all, so if im wrong in any statement about the issue feel free to correct me. im also mostly talking about the latin american stuff in the characters. its important for every individual being educated about the racism and colorism to be more conscious about the problems in our society and being able to make a difference.
now first of all, i was fucking annoyed when all the leaks of pyro archon were an spanish colonizer, its fucking disrespectful and the worse part was some people on twitter saying "well i think it could be a good idea if she was a colonizer because..." oh my god, shut up. its 2024 i need everyone to stop romanticizing the colonization.
hoyoverse racism and colorism isnt new at all. you got carole and her mother from honkai impact 3rd, one being ashamed of her skintone and the other being a racist stereotype for what i read. arlan from star rail, with his bad kit (also read on twitter his kit actually have racist references about the slavery.)
all the sumeru controversy both orientalism and colorism. correct me if im wrong but im very sure in the last sumeru area quest that lamp was racist with jeht. kandake being whitewashed in every aspect and just being a 4*
as sucrose's va, valeria said on twitter i dont mind mixing cultures, but if youre gonna do that, do it respectfully and do a proper research.
theres no fucking way they whitewashed and disrespected deities and gods from native cultures LIKE THAT. friendly reminder that its actually Olorun and no ororon. (and for leaks i read, theyre giving this character the 'candace' treatment.)
more i read more it get worse, why the pyro archon doesnt look like shes from natlan? (this taking in mind her outfit) brother she looks like some fontaine or mond character, are you kidding me? its like hoyoverse just refuse to make their archons like they actually represent the culture theyre based in. (very sure it also happened with nahida.)
you just dont choose to present specifically pre-colonization era and make all the characters that are supposed to be native WHITE.
im also tired of some latinos saying "we're not all black here" and we are not all white here. latam has many POC no matter what country is. afro-latinos exist, native people exist, stop denying their existence.
to be honest i knew hoyoverse would try to sell us another dehya, cyno and say "loook we have tanned skin characters" my ass.
please, consider to boycott hoyoverse. this isnt fair at all for latin american and black culture. its something that has been asked since sumeru, its fair also include how south asians were disrespected during sumeru release. write about this topic in the surveys. (also remember theyre collaborating with kfc, a target of boycott for all the situation in palestine, if im not wrong.)
and for all my fellow latinos, dont just stay in "oh well... but its the first time we get represented in games like this without being a joke." i get it, i also like when latinos are represented in media, but hoyoverse isnt doing a better job than all the stereotypes gringos put to us.
thats all. stop romanticizing colonization. read for a bit, it wont take you more than 5 minutes to understand how horrible it is.

Chapter Six: Thin Patience
‘You’re on thin ice with me. Thin. Fucking. Ice’- (Y/n) (L/n)
youtube
6
“Alright, here's the situation. You've all had direct contact with the NBEs,” Simmons started. They had been walking for a bit now, coming into contact with a few soldiers along the way. From what (Y/n) had gathered, they had a near death experience with the decepticons-they were lucky to even be alive.
“NBEs?” the brown skinned soldier questioned.
“Non-Biological Extraterrestrials,” Simmons quipped, “Try and keep up with the acronyms.”
(Y/n) and Sam locked eyes, minds in sync as to what was going on. They had no clue about what they were dealing with all these years. From what the other man with Simmons had declared her deceased uncle had worked with them closely. Just how much did he keep secret about their true nature?
“What you're about to see is totally classified.”
They proceeded through the long dark tunnel, and to say they were all shocked was an understatement. The adults stared up at the large cybertronian in front of them, silver jagged plating was seen along with metal claws big enough to wrap around two statues on a college campus. The optics were black-unlit-but the girl couldn't look away from their faceplate. This was the monster she hid underneath her bed each night from; Megatronus-otherwise known as Megatron.
“Dear God. What is this?” The general had spoken.
Banachek looked over to (Y/n) the two making eye contact as he started to move forward, “We think when he made his approach over the north pole, our gravitational field screwed up his telemetry. He crashed in the ice-probably a few thousand years ago. We shipped him here to this facility in 1934.”
“We call him NBE One.” Simmons announced proudly.
Sam looked at his dear friend, “Uh, (Y/n) I think it's time to correct them don't you think?”
The crowd looked towards the girl, she wasn't paying attention to them, simply staring at the war terrorist her grandfather warned her about. When's the last time she read about this monster? Was it three years? She was pretty sure it was longer. It was funny, every last detail in the book was true about his stature-his looks-his gaze-.
“Correct us?” Simmons questioned in disbelief.
The girl scoffed, finally tuning in, “Yea, no offense. But I think my uncle let this limited information go far too long,” She looked over at Banachek, sympathy lacing her eyes,” You got everything wrong. He is not NBE One, he's Megatron. Cyberons most fiercest war terrorist and leader of the Decepticons; you see-it was him that led to the fall of their own planet. Killing millions of his own kind to achieve one thing,”
She looked at them venom lacing her tone, “Power,”
Simmons stepped towards her, the two having a non verbal conversation. The man's eyes scream one thing, ‘continue’.
“ In fact he wasn't even the fist one here, there have been other ‘NBEs’ actually known as Cybertronians-”
“(Y/n),” Sam whispered hastily, “Let's not give them a proper history lesson right now alright-!”
“No,” The general stepped forward. “Let the girl talk, she seems to know a lot more than we do.”
(Y/n) turned to Banachek, “How long has he been like that?”
“He’s been in cryostasis since 1935.” He turned to Sam, a proud resolve, “Your great-great-great grandfather and your (GG/n) made one of the greatest discoveries in the history of mankind.”
“Second greatest,” (Y/n) corrected, “Of cybertronian knowledge perhaps. The first one you guys know of though. It's just not considered the first is it?”
Simmons turned to her in shock, “How did you-”
She simply pulled out the necklace, it had started to emit a glow of blue since she arrived, “I'm going to ask you this only once; Where is Estella? Aka NBE two.” The two men looked at each other in disbelief and concern, causing the girl to frown. “There's no need to hide it now I know you guys have her here.”
“That's the thing,” Simmons responded, “Your uncle used to have the password to her area, now it's gone-along with his memory.”
The necklace fell back on the girl's chest, her confidence crumbling, “ What? But my grandmother told me-,”
“The information was confidential, no one knows about the slip up, hence why we can only deeply apologize that there will be no closer that you're looking for.” said Banachek. The two looked at each other for a long moment until when no one was looking the man sent a quick wink her way-giving her everything she already needed to know. Her uncle wasn’t foolish, he made sure at least two or three people had that password.
“Fact is, you are looking at the source of modern age,” Simmons continued, “the microchip, lasers, spaceflight, cars, all reverse-engineered by studying him-NBE One. That's what we call it.”
“Him,” (Y/n) corrected once again, the agent turned to her agitated. It was clear as day he was clearly jealous of her family and the secrets they held, but she wouldn't put it past them-judging from their dead set ‘facts’ they came up with she wouldn't want to share important information with them either.
“And you didn't think the United States military might need to know that you're keeping a hostile alien robot frozen in the basement?” The general questioned.
“Until these events, we had no credible threat to national security.”
“Well you got one now!”
Lennox finally decided to speak, “So why earth?”
“It's the allspark,” (Y/n) answered his question.
“All spark? What is that?”
The girl wanted to throw her family book at their head in response. At this point they were using her as a damn dictionary rather than a well informed individual. Everyone seemed useless in this situation rather than Sam and Mikaela. She turned to her best friend, waving a hand saying he had the floor.
“Well, yeah, they came here looking for some sort of cube looking thing.” The teenage boy tried to explain.
God dammit Sam!
(Y/n) rolled her eyes, “How many times have I told you Sam, it's practically the most sacred thing on their planet and has the power to bring back life itself! Its the most important we get it before he does-”
“Anyway,” Sam held up his hand in sass, “Mr. NBE One here, aka Meagtron-that's what they call him, whos pretty much the harbinger of death-just like (Y/n) told you-wants to use the cube to transform human technology to take over the universe,” They turned back to his friend a cocky look on his face, “That's their plan.”
The girl pursed her lips, “I don't know if I want to slap you because you cut me off or give you a high five because you actually remembered everything I told you.”
Simmons paused for a moment, “And you two are sure about that?”
“Yeah,”
“Yep,” The two synced.
(Y/n) smirked immediately knowing where this is going to go, “You guys know where it is, don't you?”
Banacke looked between the two of them, “Follow me.”
The two teens looked at each other before following suit along with the soldiers behind them. (Y/n) continued to survey her surroundings as she took in the atmosphere of the place as they walked through the narrow hallways, she couldn't believe her own uncle-the one she didn't know she had-walked through these halls numerous times and still kept secrets from the government about a cybertronians true nature.
“You're about to see our crown jewel,” Simmons led them into a yellow bricked room with old pictures of seven men hung along the wall. She was surprised that her and Sam's grandfathers were not there. They did make history after all.
(Y/n)’s mouth dropped at the sight before her, a geeky smile tracing her plump lips as she gazed through the window. It was beyond what she had imagined of the cube to look like, the spare object was as tall as the large cavern of the building, nearly taking up the whole space of the room itself. Down below she could see scientists working diligently as they examined it, she found it a bit cruel her family hid its fully functioning nature-it would've saved them years of research.
Sam chuckled beside her, “Better than what you imagined?”
“Yeah,” His friend uttered breathlessly, “It is.”
The agent cut into their comfortable atmosphere, “Carbon dating puts the Cube here around ten thousand BC,” The man informed looking at (Y/n), “The first seven didn't find it until 1913.They knew it was alien because of the matching hieroglyphics on the Cube as well as NBE One. President Hoover had the dam built around it. Four football fields thick of concrete, a perfect way to hide its energy from being detected by anyone or alien species on the outside.”
The girl froze for a moment before slowly turning to him, “Sir, with all do respect I don't think everything was thought through,” The Agents and Soldiers looked at her confused, “You said that this was the perfect way of hiding its energy from aliens on the outside correct?”
“Yeah,” Simmons scoffed
She stepped up to him with her stance firm, “There's two whole aliens in this facility. And you didn't think that maybe one of them would wake up and take it away? Especially the bringer of death NBE One?”
This stunned the others in the room, Sam breathing faint “holy shit” as it dawned on him that they really messed up in regards to that calculation.
But Banachek didn't waver, only nodding at her instead , “I understand that concern but NBE One has shown no activity ever since he was found by Witwicky.”
(Y/n) only hummed but it didn't ease the pit rumbling at the bottom of her stomach. There were warning signs practically ringing in every direction for her in regards to this whole ordeal, with Megatron here and the Deceipticons looking for him it wasn't safe for the cube to be down here, nor was it safe for them to be down here when a potential bomb goes off. Did they honestly want her to believe that Megatron wasn't playing them all this time? Estel most definitely would have warned them if she hadn't been offlined, she loved the human race too much to do so-from what she gathered from her grandmother anyway.
“Wait back up,” The lady cut in, “You said the dam hides the Cubes energy. What kind exactly?” The question seemed to be for her, but she ignored it and waited for the agents to answer instead. Her mouth was getting dry from answering too many questions.
“Good question,”
It wasn't long before they were taken to another enclosed room, what stood out the most was the big blue transparent box with men surrounding it. The wires and small room could only tell her one thing that this was a form of an experiment room of some kind. “Please step inside. They have to lock us in.”
She stood beside Sam and Mikeala, the girl noticed their hands intertwined with one another's for a minute-just a glimpse-and decided to clasp her own hands together in reassurance. Although her mind did drift back to a certain soft big hand and sharp blue eyes-.
Fuck. Now wasn't the time for her mind to wander.
“Oh wow,” Epps uttered, looking at the scratches along the wall. They didn't seem too big but they were long and sharp enough to penetrate through metal, “What's that? Freddy Krueger done been up in here or something?”
“Oh, no, man,” The hacker argued, “Freddy Kruegar has four blades, man. That's only three. That's Wolverine!” The man laughed and (Y/n) did for a bit stopping when she saw Sam's done expression.
“That's very funny,” Simmons said with a straight face. The laughter was gone when they noticed his serious tone. “Anybody have any mechanical devices? BlackBerry? Key alarm? Cell Phone?”
The man went through his pockets, “I got a phone,” He tossed to Simmons.
They headed over to the blue box in the room each being handed a pair of goggles, (Y/n) stared anxiously as Simmons placed the phone inside the box shutting it tightly
“Okay,” Simmons whispered, “Nokias are real nasty. You gotta respect the Japanese, they know the way of the samurai.”
“Nokia is from Finland.” The woman might as well keep it to herself, there was no correcting the agent.
The afro haired girl grimaced, her grandmother had a Nokia.
“Were able to use the Cubes radiation and funnel it into that box,” Simmons started flipping the devices on to start up the machine
They watched the gadget hover over the phone before a blue laser contracted into the metal device below. The girl got goosebumps as she heard the familiar sound before the phone transformed right before their eyes. She couldn't believe it, the cube could actually give life!
“Bro what the-”
“Wow,” (Y/n) muttered in amazement. She leaned in closer to get a better look along with Micheala, the new cybertronian didn't like the attention and proceeded to ram itself in their direction. It was a good thing it only hit the glass, but the two girls did lean back when it proceeded to shoot at its barrier.
“Mean little sucker, huh?”
(Y/n) hummed, “Mean and confused.”
“Man that thing is freaky!”
It got worse from there, the bullets and shots were cracking the box. The little guys were close to its escape, Simmons wasn't going to allow it. The gasp the girl let out was involuntary as a large shock ran through the box killing the new life instantly. She immediately grabbed onto Sam, anxiety racking through her, as she thought about the black and yellow scout.
“S-Sam,” the girl whispered, “Bumblebee.”
As soon as the words left her lips the lights started to flicker overhead as well as an alarm sounding off. Her heart hammered in her chest, she knew that this would happen-that this facility wasn't the safest with the war terrorists here along with the cube. It was practically a suicide wish.
“They're here,” (Y/n) announced.
The general nodded to her in agreement, “Gentlemen, they know the cube is here”
“Along with their leader,”
“Banachek, what's going on?!”
“The NBE One hanger has lost power-”
“What?!”
“The backup generator is just not gonna cut it!”
“I told you so,” (Y/n) looked at Simmons, “Putting them both in the same place is a room for disaster-”
Sam sighed, “(Y/n)! Really?”
“I'm just making sure he knows their mistake!” Sure it wasn't the time to be petty, but she told them that it wasn't a good idea and they completely brushed her off. It felt good to show these smart asses she was right.
Lenoxx made his way over quickly, “Do you have an arms room?”
Oh. Guns against large robot aliens. How nice.
They were all flushed out of the room in haste, Sam made sure to have a good grip on the two girls as they followed behind the soldiers closely.
“Everyone into the NBE One Chamber now!”
The area was a mess, she watched so many people running all over the place in adrenaline. Anticipation and fear clouding their eyes at the situation at hand, she could only imagine the amount of scientists who did not sign up for the fighting part on the field, only the endless studying that would be conducted over the course of their lifetime.
That's why when they were running down the hall shye almost forgot the most important person she wanted to see, even though she tried to halt her movements Sam only strengthened his hold. The boy had his nerves on edge, making sure his best friend stayed by his side at all times; and she could understand that, it hasn't been the best twenty four hours.
“They're popping our generators!”
This only made the girl try to turn in the other direction once more, “Sam! We have to get to Bumblebee-”
“I know! Give me a second to get them to understand.”
Sam didn't mean to snap at her, she knew he didn't. From the way his eyes were blown open, face drenched in sweat to the distressed crease of his brows. It was a good thing they eventually made it to the room, the teens watched as the soldiers and men started to arm themselves. Of course (Y/n) tried to grab for one only for Epps to quickly take it away.
“Uh uh, until you're properly trained with this thing-you're not holding one,”
The lights started to go off again causing the room to still for a moment, everyone's breaths heightened-eyes wide with fear. (Y/n) has had enough and stormed up to Simmons.
“You gotta take us to see Bumblebee,”
The agent looked at her baffled, “Who-?”
“My car! She's talking about my car,” Sam butt in, “You have to take us to go see him. He knows exactly what to do with the cube!”
Simmons shook his head, “The car? It's confiscated.”
“Then un-confiscate it!”
“We don't know-”
A gun was held to the side of the agent's head, the room went still, “Listen here asshole! I’m frankly sick and tired of running in circles with you fucking government heads thinking you know everything when you dont,” There was guns drawn, some men aiming at the afro haired girl while others where aimed at the sector seven men as shouts started to fill the room. But she ignored them, along with Sam's pleas to put it down.
“Now that I have all of your attention, let me explain this to you quickly since we don't have enough time. Right now you have two options,” The girl turned her head to the other men in the room to make sure they were listening, “One, we can continue to have an autobot scout-the one trying to save our planet-still confiscated by your men and have the decepticon leader-Megatron the war terrorist- leave with the cube and terrorform this planet. Or Number Two, you un-confiscate Bumblebee-Sam's car- give him the cube getting to the other autobots to save this planet.”
The girl looked back at Simmons, cocking an eyebrow, “Which will it be?” The agent was taking too long to answer, so she added to her statement, “Or you can take too long to answer, and I take matters into my own hands and kill you and save the world myself.”
Simmons laughed nervously, “With what army?”
“The ones behind her,” Lennox chimed in, “I was going to take you down myself, but the little lady seems to have beat me to it.”
“Drop your weapon, Baby girl,” Epps uttered softly, “We got this.”
(Y/n) didn't listen, only staring at the man in front of her with anguish between her eyes. The gun felt foreign in her hand, it didn't feel like a toy; it was cold, heavy and deadly. Three things she used to be afraid of, the same thing she was so used to having pointed at her only for it to be placed in her hands.
The agent recognized the look in her eyes and his frown deepened, “That look is so familiar, your uncle used to have it all the time within the first years on me being here,” The girl did not smile or waver, simply held the gun to his head, “ Your not gonna give me the option are ya?”
“Listen to me closely,” The girl leaned in , her eyes slitted, “You're on thin ice with me. Thin. Fucking. Ice.”
“Agent Simmons,” The general spoke up.
The agent's eyes stayed locked on the girl, “Yes sir?”
“I'd do what she says,” He spoke clearly, “Losing isn't for any of these guys, and from what I've learned-neither is it for this girl.”
A moment of silence.
Simmons looked back and forth between (Y/n) and the general before nodding his head, silently agreeing, “Alright, alright, alright. You want to lay the fate of the world on these kids' camaro? That's cool.”
The girl retracted the gun with a heavy breath released, she looked back at Epps and tried handing the gun back over. (Y/n) felt like a little kid going behind her parents back and getting another toy after the first one was taken away, it was what she just did. She grabbed another gun when the lights were flickering when the soldier was distracted.
The soldier simply shook his head, “No you keep it. You're gonna need it later.”
“I don't want it. It feels wrong to hold it.” She admitted softly.
“Trust me,” Lennox placed a hand on her shoulder, “As a soldier who has fought as long as we have. Sometimes we don't like picking these things up, there's a huge responsibility behind it. And it's heavy. Trust me when I say this-that decision you just made was needed; and not everyone could have had the courage to do what you just did.”
~ ✯ ~
It was haunting, (Y/n) doesn't think she could ever get it out of her mind. The pained whirrs she heard coming from the cybertronian was heard all the way down the hall, causing the girl to run faster than the rest of the men. Sam and Mikeala were right behind her, their pace catching up with each foot leading them to the double doors.
The afro haired girl pushed through the doors screaming out for the scout, shoving past security, “Let him go! Bumblebee!”
“Stop!”
Sam grabbed a man stopping the icing process the best he could along with Mikeala doing the same on the other side. The three teens were quick with their pace, grabbing and disarming the men as Banachek and Simmons ordered everyone to stand down in the room. The pained whirrs slowly diminished but the girl could still hear the discomfort Bumblebee had, he was confused and upset.
“Bee!” (Y/n) watched as the scout sat up at the shout of her voice, his optics immediately locking on hers, “Are you okay? Can you move? Are you okay-”
“They didn't hurt you right?” Sam cut in.
Bumblebee grew annoyed, frustration building as he activated his helmet, rolling over and aiming his cannon and the previous offenders that had him strapped down to the table. Sometimes it was so hard for the scout to love humankind, the list just got longer with the many things they have done to him on this planet. He waved it around for a moment making sure no one else was going to hurt him before freezing, noticing movement in the corner of his optics.
(Y/n) had stepped forward, hands in the air with an anxious expression, “Easy, they won't hurt you anymore I promise. Not while I'm here.” The scout had frozen still looking at her before slowly lowering the cannon, then completely transforming it back into a servo once more. He pointed to her, catching her off guard-her expression was confused for a moment before a realization dawned on her. “M-me? Oh-oh I'm okay, see I'm in one piece.”
Bumblebee wasn't convinced. This only made him more upset.
“Listen the cube is here and the Decepticons are coming,” Sam cut to the chase. He noticed the bot's frustration with his friend's lie, and decided to move this along before something else would transpire.
The scout rolled off the tabel-if they would even call it that-and still proceeded to have his helmet on his head using his servo to cover (Y/n) as she was the closest charge next to him.
“D-don't worry about them, they wont do anything! Alright, they're not gonna hurt you” Sam turned back to the other men and crowd surrounding the frustrated Autobot in the room, “Just back up a little bit, he's friendly.” The boy turned to (Y/n) looking between her and the larger robot. She didn't get what he was trying to convey at first but quickly caught on.
Sam wanted her to calm Bumblebee down. At first she was confused, although they were both his charges the scout hadn't calmed down in the slightest from her friend's reassurance. What would make her attempts any different? The girl thought back to the moment the two had in front of that door, the turning of the handle together before going inside.
“Who said you have to do it alone?”
“Hey! Hey, hey,” (Y/n) stepped in front of the scout waving her arms around catching his heated gaze. She understood his frustration and the fear of being hurt-ti be put back in the position he just got out of. He was willing to be taken by the willingly so they wouldnt hurt anyone, only to go through so much torture. “C-can you just-can you just focus on me for a second?”
Bumblebee did, and to make sure she knew he was concentrating only on her he keeled to get closer to the female down below. Upon looking at her closely she had a bandage on her elbow along with a few bloody spots on her jeans and shirt. The cuts and spots were not big so he did not fret about it too much, but something moved within his spark from the girl who was looking up at him. Shere concern was laced across her features, eyebrows creased in nerves whereas her eyes scanned his face for emotions he was trained not to show.
It was a reflex of war. Never show your enemies your emotions-they'll use it against you. No human was to be trusted in the room until further notice.
“I know it must have hurt-what they did to you. But the actions of these people shouldn’t determine the fate of the rest of the human race,” (Y/n) spoke softly, “They hurt me, Sam, and Mikeala too-that's the thing about us humans we hurt each other and we make mistakes. And we need your help to fix a huge mistake.”
The afro haired girl took a few cautious steps forward before placing a soft hand against one of the mech's digits, “Can you do that for me Honeybee?”
Bumblebee stilled for a moment, his radio flaring to life as his whole form grew warm. The girl waited patiently, smiling softy up at him, understanding he was finding the words to say in this situation. However she hadn't expected that response.
“Anything you desire sweetheart,”

I think it's more to do with the fact that you act like your writing of Ghost is the only correct way while you're consecutively diminishing others and how they write him. Don't get me wrong I'm not condoning that "racist"(?) anon but it's a bit rude? Like, none of us know whether Ghost would be into the whole hypothetical size kink it's just a fandom fantasy, he's close to a blank slate of a character so he's a free real estate to build on interpretations bestie😭
Anyhow, slayyy on that bench, i wanna join you.
nah nah fr man, i’m not taking away from this.
GOD ok listen, i’m here for the blank slate. that is just a given. but bro, you’re proper sniping me 💀 consecutively diminishing is a mad two words and i’ll be first to raise a hand and say i have a wild tone over text but hello.
i’m gonna yap regardless yk i just base it on the shit that happened to him in comics and that’s the way i personally prefer it.
i’ll budge up on the bench tho
i even drew you

hihi i just wanted to share that i'm loving your MSI fic and I am feeling all the pain that our poor Lehends is feeling too ;_;
while i eagerly await the elaboration of the dynamic between Rulhends, i wanted to, if i may, poke your mind a little on your characterisation of Chovy - especially with regard to Ch 6 and how he seems to try to place himself "above it all". What are you thinking about when you write Chovy in this case?
If I were a proper, polished author, I would reply to this ask with simply "wait a couple days for chapter 7 to drop :)" because yes there will be more Chovy and that would be a more authentic way to experience the story. However, in actuality, I am a feral fanfic writer and the mere thought that my writing led someone to believe that my Chovy is holier-than-thou in any way makes me want to scream.
So let's take a look at the events of Chapter 6 from Jihoon's perspective:
The first thing to understand is how critically important this tournament is for Chovy. Throughout his entire career, underperforming at international tournaments has been his biggest shortcoming as a player, the thing that people use to invalidate him - "He does well domestically, but against the LPL? No chance." "I think the nerves get to him; it's another Choky incident lmao" "trash player, only knows how to farm." Then, this year, more than any other, he's finally proving the haters wrong. He's worked so, so hard over this past split to qualify and prepare for MSI, to finally secure his first win against the LPL and maybe even his first international title, to finally prove to everyone that no, he's not just a strong LCK player, he deserves to be acknowledged as one of the best.
Imagine working for months to achieve that dream, to be so close to tasting it - beating the LPL second seed, securing a spot in at least the top 4 - and then being informed that all your hard work might be for nothing just because your friend couldn't keep it in his pants for one night.
And the thing is, Jihoon isn't even mad at Siwoo about that, because he knows him: he knows he wasn't intentionally sabotaging anything, that this was just another classic instance of Lehends Lehendsing, i.e. doing whatever he wants without thinking about the consequences. The reason he calls the meeting is just to let Siwoo know that, 'hey, you came really close to crossing a line here, so you should be aware of that'. When he asks for an apology, it's less so for him and more for Suhwan, who's dedicating his everything to succeeding at e-sports. For Geonbu, who sacrificed his stability and his home for hopes of achieving something great with this team. For Giin, who has been performing his ass off all tournament and reestablishing himself as one of the global greats. It would be unfair for them to have their dreams crushed because of Siwoo's behavior, and Jihoon wants him to acknowledge that, to realize that his actions don't just affect himself. There's no shame or derision intended in Jihoon's words: he's only trying to ground Siwoo and instill some self-awareness in him.
And it works, too - yes, Jihoon calls Siwoo an asshole, but that's purely out of a place of affection, like an "Oh my God of course you almost threw away our MSI trophy just to sleep with an LEC player; that's textbook Siwoo, but he's my best friend and I love him". Siwoo knows that, and it would have been over there if Suhwan (who's not at fault, btw, this poor boy has been struggling with these questions since chapter 1) didn't pipe up with The Worst Thing to Possibly Say at That Moment™.
As for Jihoon's choice to keep quiet and stay as neutral as possible during Siwoo's eruption, that's not intended to be him removing himself from the situation. Actually, that's the correct tactic for dealing with someone with explosive anger: you sit there and wait for them to burn themself out, then approach them again when they're being more rational. Jihoon knows this - he's probably seen Siwoo pop off any number of times before - so he knows that he just needs to wait it out. Reacting would only add more fuel to the fire - "Calm down" is always one of the worst things you can say to someone who's raging - and, as we see with Geonbu, trying to intervene will only make him lash out more.
So Jihoon endures the slander up until Siwoo says something that he can't forgive: he accuses Jihoon of thinking that he's better than the rest of the team and only keeping them around to make him look good, which could not be further from the truth. Jihoon has so much respect and love for everyone on the team that it breaks his heart that Siwoo could even imagine the contrary. We see this a bit in "Art of Negotiation" too, when Siwoo suggests that Jihoon doesn't actually care about him and Jihoon immediately shuts the thought down. Jihoon can take disparaging remarks about him all day, but as soon as it evolves into putting down his team, or suggesting that they don't matter to him, that's when he needs to intervene.
I guess the only other place in the fic where Jihoon could be potentially be read as being condescending is when he mediates the disputes between Suhwan and Siwoo, but that's intended to be more mom-friend vibes than superior. My version of Chovy is very much the glue that holds GenG together; he is the one who assembled this group of five players, all of whom he has complete confidence in, and he's dedicated to helping them all do and be their best, both as a captain and as a friend.
Imo, the entire concept of Jihoon placing himself "above it all" comes solely from Siwoo's misconception, rooted in his own feelings of inadequacy and maybe even jealousy. In truth, Siwoo is the one who thinks that Jihoon is so much better than the rest of them, so he projects that viewpoint outward as an excuse to continue his rampage (istg Siwoo does so much projecting in this fic, like half the time he's talking about someone else he's actually just saying how he feels sdjkfashld). Maybe Siwoo secretly feels like he doesn't deserve Jihoon's friendship, and that contributes to his outbursts. Meanwhile, Jihoon knows his own imperfections, and can see so much wonderful and unique power in Siwoo, his best friend whom he loves dearly, and yet he's forced to watch helplessly as his best friend idolizes him to a point beyond capability of empathy. Chapter 6 is so incredibly painful for Jihoon, so the short answer is that he's not above anything; he is very much in the thick of it, desperate to help Siwoo, but no longer knowing how.
...Well, that was longer than anticipated. Thanks for the ask! I'm so glad you're enjoying the fic, and I hope all that clarified my thinking a bit more/is actually coherent and not just a rant. I just love my version of Chovy so dearly and want to make sure I'm not misrepresenting his struggles.
Have a great day!
P.S. wait a couple days for chapter 7 to drop :)

Third.
After finishing that second journal post, I went to bed. After that, my mother woke me up for sahoor. I had my usual meal, but what followed was a complete nightmare. My stomach hurts, and I have trouble falling asleep. I wanted to puke up because I was feeling so terrible. I realized I had received a text from him at 6:35 a.m.
Yes. Him.
After seeing my message for quite some time, he responded to me. My desire to simply move on and act as though nothing had happened put me in denial. Here he is, responding after a few days yet remaining uninterested. Nevertheless, he did alert me on his manic episodes, so I don't blame him. The way he responded to me was the one thing that alarmed me, at least a bit. Suffice it to say, I communicated with him in a pretty impromptu manner prior to this episode. So at the beginning, I was able to confirm that our mutual interest in one another was genuine through our follow-up conversation. But that's not what I had in mind when I first started the chat, which is the issue. You would label this guy as a clear warning sign, and to make matters worse, I'm a fool for continuing to interact with him or even feeling the way I do about him. It was his way of reading me, he explained. I am aware of his lies. I know he doesn't give a damn that I know he lied outright. But I have a different connection with him for some reason. That's just weird and I just can't explain it.
As a quick aside, he is definitely not my type of man and not the kind of man I would pursue.
Yes, I am aware. Asking if he missed me or not was a foolish move on my part. He missed me, he said.
Now for the unvarnished truth. He didn't seem to miss me. I had a sneaking suspicion that he was scared I would carry on with my life. I removed all social media from my account to avoid any distractions, so please understand. Maybe he became aware of it? Or perhaps fear overcame him. Not sure. I understand; we haven't yet met. However, you must comprehend the level of love and care I invest in the connection we have.
So many questions linger in my head at that point of time. Is he the one for me? Is he not? What am I supposed to do now? Am I supposed to let him chase me?
When he replied, I was ecstatic. Even though it's been a few days. It's true that I desired him. I know in my heart that he is not a bad person, even if it's not because of the way he appears. He is making an effort to be. No one is purely good, and I refuse to accept that anyone is terrible. He is great, I can see that. He dreams. He has objectives. It's acceptable if he is lying to me. I'm rather certain he has motivations for lying to me, even if I knew he was lying. And no, I'm not offering justifications for his actions.
Considering everything, our conversation might be our last. God only knows how long this text will be visible or sent. Like you, I don't have much hope for this guy. I am certain, though, that my intentions were pure when I desired him. Together, we would practice our deen, as that is what I hoped for—or rather, what I sought for in a man—when I imagined him as my husband. For the sake of Allah, show each other love. I wanted to lead him down the correct path. From a woman, does that not sound appropriate?
Should I be with a man who is competent enough to guide me in the correct direction? The proper method? Who decides that, though? If the topic of discussion is universal, then the answers to these endless questions aren't correct or wrong, are they? It all depends, in my opinion, on the outcome.
Although I'm not sure what to do, I'll just do what feels right and let Allah SWT handle the rest. I've reached a very high degree of acceptance, and no matter what happens, I'll accept my fate and have faith in my Creator.
Yours Truly,
cveenso

Question Dear Father Angelo, My name is Milena and a few years ago, after a long period of ignorance and disinterest (mea culpa) of everything that revolves around the word Faith, I decided it was time to take a stand on the biggest question in the world: God. I did not want to be slothful by being totally disinterested in the problem and I felt that I could not be satisfied with a superficial faith, in which we declare ourselves believers more by tradition and by sense of belonging than by conviction. To believe I need to understand (as far as possible). This is why I decided to take up the Bible, the Old and New Testament, and read everything. Let me be clear, I did not take this step as a believer. I expected to grasp contradictions, illogic and teachings too tied to the ancient world that would have revealed to me, beyond the shadow of a doubt, that the Text was entirely human, both in form and in inspiration. In fact, at the beginning it was not easy, I seemed to immediately grasp the inconsistencies and illogicalities that I invariably marked with a pencil, and then come back to them, some time later, when (by chance?), the answer I was looking for came up right under my nose. And here what at first seemed illogical to me became instead clear and shareable if read with the right key. Furthermore, the more time passed, the more attentive and passionate my reading became. In the end I had to change my mind and all my prejudices about this Sacred Text collapsed to the point that I consider it the most beautiful book I have ever read, perhaps the most beautiful that can be written (not so much for the form, but for the substance), and I still consult it often because in addition to giving excellent advice it is an inexhaustible mine of reflections. In one sentence I could say that I have found more answers than I was looking for. It is therefore not for a question that I am writing to you, but to find out if in your opinion an answer that "came to my mind" in the face of a criticism that a Jewish boy has leveled at the Christian interpretation of a passage from Isaiah is correct. I will explain. In Isaiah 53:10 we read, referring to the Servant of the Lord, that "he shall see his descendants in a long life". As you know better than me, according to the Hebrew interpretation the Servant in question would be the people of Israel and not Jesus. In particular, as regards this passage the Jews affirm that the term descent (in the Hebrew text literally seed zerah - זרע) would refer to a blood progeny and consequently could not apply to Jesus who, notoriously, had no children, but rather to the Jewish people. In this way it would seem incorrect the interpretation of those Catholics who maintain that the term descendants must be understood in a broad sense so as to encompass the "almost filial" relationship that Jesus established with his disciples and which in a certain sense continues today. Now, looking in a Hebrew dictionary, I discovered that the word zerah זרע, as it happens in Italian, can refer not only to sperm, but also to the proper seed (of a plant for example). So here is the illumination that caught me and about which I ask you for an opinion to understand if I am on the right path: reflecting on this passage, Jesus' parable of the sower came to mind. In that parable Jesus explained to the disciples that he is a sower and his words are his seeds, which can only sprout if they find fertile ground in us. At the same time, I recalled that, according to what is stated in the Gospel of John (Jn 1:1-3), all things came to be through the Word, so much so that even in Genesis God the Father creates the light, the firmament etc. simply by saying their name (Gen. 1: 3 - God said, "Let there be light," and there was light). In essence, the Word is a real means of creation. I venture a parallel (please correct me if I'm wrong!): just as the seed (understood as sperm) generates the human being
to life, in a similar way the seed (of the word) generates the human being to Faith, that is, it creates a new creature. Therefore, it is quite possible to affirm that this creature who was born in faith in Christ thanks to the word of Jesus is the fruit of His seed and therefore is a descendant of him. In this sense, then, all Christians would be the descendants of Jesus and it would be us who keep alive the power of His Word through the continuous transmission from generation to generation, which is why Jesus may well be the Servant of the Lord of whom Isaiah speaks when he writes "he shall see his descendants in a long life". I hope I have not reasoned badly. In case I did, forgive me, I'm still learning. I thank you again for your helpfulness, for the service you offer and I send my best wishes to the whole community of Dominican Friends. Milena Answer Dear Milena, 1. I congratulate you on your meticulousness in investigating the words with which God revealed himself and communicated himself to men. They are the most precious words that can be heard and they are all words of eternal life. 2. First of all, I tell you that the interpretation you have given on the descendants that the Servant of Yahweh shall see in a long life is correct. 3. In fact, through the word the Lord continually generates new children to the Father and introduces the life of God into us. St. Paul is clear on this point: "Faith comes from what is heard (fides ex auditu), and what is heard comes through the word of Christ" (Rm 10,16) and is perfectly in line with what the Lord said about the mustard seed (Mt 13:31). 4. I would like to make two considerations about your email. The first concerns who the Servant of the Lord, of Yahweh is: whether he is Israel, as you say, or whether he is a specific character. Yes, the Jews understand it as a synonym for the people of Israel. And for this interpretation they can rely on Is 49:3: "You are my servant, he said to me, Israel, through whom I show my glory". However, it should be remembered that there are four songs of the Servant of the Lord and in them we find the emergence of a very specific person as appears in the first of these four songs, which is found in Is 42:1ff. Furthermore, often in Sacred Scripture Israel or Jacob are synonymous with both the patriarch and the people, as when it is said that salvation is from the Jews (Jn 4:22): that is, it comes from a member of the Jewish people. 5. But let's see in order what is specifically said in the four songs found in Isaiah 42:1-4 (5-9); 49:1-6; 50:4-9 (10-11); 52:13 - 53:12). About the first “Here is my servant whom I uphold, my chosen one with whom I am pleased, upon whom I have put my spirit; he shall bring forth justice to the nations" (Is 42,1), here is what the Jerusalem Bible says: "In this poem, the servant is presented as a prophet, the object of a mission and of a divine predestination (v. 6, cf. v 4; Jer 1,5), animated by the Spirit (v. 1) to teach the whole earth (vv. 1 and 3) with discretion and firmness (vv. 2-4), despite the opposition. But his mission exceeds that of the other prophets, since he himself is a covenant and light (v. 6) and carries out a work of liberation and salvation (v. 7). The choice of the servant is accompanied by an outpouring of the Spirit, as for the charismatic leaders of ancient times, the Judges (cf. Jg 3:10) and the first kings, Saul (1 Sam 9,17; cf. 10: 9-10) and David (1 Sam 16: 12-13; compare Is 11: 1-2)". 6. Regarding the second song "Hear me, O coastlands, listen, O distant peoples..." (Is 49,1), it takes up the theme of the first (42,1-8), insisting on certain aspects of the servant's mission: predestination (vv 1.5), a mission extended not only to Israel which he must gather (v. 5), but also to the nations to enlighten them (v. 6), a new preaching that shakes (v. 2), which brings light and salvation (v. 6). It also speaks of his failure (vv. 4.7), of his trust in God alone (vv. 4.5) and of a final triumph (v
. 7). Israel: this word is generally considered a gloss inspired by 44:21 and incompatible with vv. 5-6 which distinguish the servant from Jacob-Israel and where the Servant is sent precisely to Israel, to Jacob: “For now the Lord has spoken who formed me as his servant from the womb, that Jacob may be brought back to him and Israel gathered to him; and I am made glorious in the sight of the Lord, and my God is now my strength! It is too little, he says, for you to be my servant, to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and restore the survivors of Israel; I will make you a light to the nations, that my salvation may reach to the ends of the earth" (Is 49: 5-6). It is perhaps justified by the ambivalence of the figure of the servant who at times represents Israel and at other times its leader and savior. 7. The third and fourth songs add new clarifications about the person and the mission of the servant. The third song is found in Is 50,4: The Lord God has given me a well-trained tongue, that I might know how to speak to the weary a word that will rouse them. Morning after morning he opens my ear that I may hear. In this third song, the servant appears more like a sage than a prophet. He is the faithful disciple of Yahweh (vv. 4-5), in charge of instructing in turn those who "fear God", that is, all the pious Jews (v. 10), but also the lost or the infidels "who walk in darkness". Thanks to his courage and divine help (vv. 7-9), he will endure persecutions (vv. 5-6), until God grants him a definitive triumph (vv. 9-11). Until v. 9 inc., it is the servant who speaks. Is 50: 6: I gave my back to those who beat me, my cheeks to those who plucked my beard; my face I did not shield from buffets and spitting. This description of the sufferings of the servant will be taken up and developed in the fourth song (52:13ff). This fourth song takes up the theme of suffering. The persecutions that the servant will endure with great patience (53,7) are a scandal for the bystanders, but actually they are an intercession and an atonement for sins”. 8. Therefore, in the light of the text, the interpretation that identifies the Servant of the Lord with the people of Israel is certainly present, but it is neither the exclusive nor the main one. The distinction between the person and the people appears very clear in Is 49:5-6, precisely because this person is sent to save the people of Israel. 9. We now come to the descendants on which you have given your learned and precise explanation starting from the meaning of the word (from semantics). I present to you the comment made on it by G. Girotti, a Dominican martyr in Dachau and now blessed: "He shall see his descendants... The Hebrew text contains more exactly two distinct propositions: he will see a posterity, a progeny, he will prolong his days. The fruits of the Messiah's sacrifice are mentioned. As a reward, first of all he is granted a posterity, an innumerable multitude of men, who through him have been regenerated to new life, so that they are united with him as with a second progenitor of mankind (cf. Rom 5:14 ff.; 6:3). Thus, the promise made to Abraham was fulfilled (cf. Gen 15:5; 22:17). This first fruit or prize of the Messiah's sacrifice is made up of a crown of saints. 10. The second fruit is the following: in a long life, that is, the "Servant of Yahweh" will live eternally blessed. “Once I was dead, but now I am alive forever and ever” (Ap 1,18). The expression: in a long life, implicitly contains the prophecy of the resurrection of the Servant of Yahweh after his death, because in common usage this expression is not used for the life of the soul alone, but for the life in soul and body. 11. The third fruit consists in the prosperous success which, through the Servant, the will of God will obtain. This will (Hebrew: consent) is the providential plan relating to the redemption, the salvation of mankind, it is that admirable r
estoration that embraces men and things, time and eternity, of which the prophet has already spoken several times in the previous chapters (cfr. 2, 4; 11, 5…) and of which he will speak even more clearly later on". As I wish you an ever deeper understanding of that Book which contains words that communicate eternal life (God), I gladly remind you to the Lord and I bless you. Father Angelo

growth in witchcraft as shedding of snake-skin
Sort of obvious, but I had to learn it (like everything else) the hard way. And as spooky season approaches and people may be revitalizing their practices after breaks, I want to say something that might end up saving a couple folks from a lot of frustration and heartbreak:
Just because it worked that way for you in the past, doesn't mean that's how it works for you now.
I mean this in a literal, making-stuff-happen with magic and sorcery way.
You guys have heard the adage that some spirit guides are with you for life, some for short periods, some for just one lesson, etc., right?
Well, the same can be said for sorcerous techniques.
I don't know if I just shed techniques like hermit crabs shed shells or what, but this happens to me a lot. Here's the kind of thing I mean:
You used to do readings with a specific little ritual involving a prayer and incense, but now that technique seems to produce incorrect readings. It feels flat and you can tell you're not connecting.
You used to be able to tie intent into knots and carry the thread around with you all day to conjure specific little occurrences, but now it barely seems to work and manifestation is spotty.
You used to be able to converse with spirits by going into a deep meditation, but now when you try you can hardly connect and it's like their messages are getting blotted out.
And I think sometimes when these things happen, people tend to process this with:
self-blame (I'm not a devoted enough witch, I brought this on myself!),
scapegoating spiritual allies (I used to pray to Hekate before divination but now my divination doesn't work, so Hekate must be mad at me), or
developing personal doubt (I used to think magic worked but now I can't replicate my own results).
When the reality is, if you're a magical snickity-snek and you've shed your skin, you might be slithering about in the soil trying to do the little old things that no longer fit the bigger, better you.
Sometimes this "shedding" is very obvious and we can feel and taste it. "Shedding" may come before, during, or after a period of intense personal transformation. It may come in a numinous moment when you hear a single phrase, or view a single image, that makes you become the Hanged Man and see reality in a whole new way.
But it can also happen without us really noticing it. I might put down my tarot cards for a couple months, pick them up again, and suddenly the ways I used to read don't work for me any more.
It's not because I'm a bad reader, or that the spirits have abandoned me, or that magic isn't real.
It's because what used to work for me doesn't any more, and now I just need to find new techniques.
So if you're trying to pick up what used to work and it just doesn't seem to be helping any more, consider that it's just like outgrowing an old set of clothes. Nothing is wrong with you, or the clothes. It just doesn't fit any more.
Since I think it'd be frustrating as hell to read a post like this without some actionable steps, below the cut are some ideas that might help you develop new techniques if your old ones seem to be failing you.
Start with your beliefs
Examine your own rituals and see if what you're doing still matches what you believe. Let's say you used to pray to Hekate and light incense before divination, but now you do that and your divination doesn't work.
Do you believe Hekate is allowing your divination to be possible? Do you believe she's the best goddess to seek aide from at this time?
What role does the incense play? Is it an offering to Hekate? Is it to feed the ancestors who supply you with interpretations? Is it just to set the correct tone and atmosphere?
Maybe you've grown in your relationship with divinity, and you now believe it's more proper to call on gods with formal prayers - but your divination ritual still uses a simple, improvised prayer.
Maybe your understanding of Hekate has changed and it feels more suitable to call on different powers.
Maybe you feel strangely about constantly "paying" gods to help you, when they say they don't need it - and lighting the incense makes you feel awkward.
Change what you're doing to match what you believe. That's always a solid first step.
Examine your own emotions and reactions
Try performing rituals (from the smallest ritual of stirring intent into coffee, to full-blown compass-casting affairs under the full moon) mindfully.
Be aware of what you're doing as you do it, but also try to examine your own reactionary thoughts and feelings.
Suppose my ritual of stirring my coffee seven times clockwise to manifest a desired emotion doesn't work any more. It used to work great, for years, so I do it quickly. But now it doesn't work, so I do it mindfully.
And while I'm stirring, I watch a few thoughts pop up to the surface: why am I doing this seven times? I'm stirring my coffee for too long and staring into it like an idiot, and it's embarrassing. What if someone thinks I'm weird?
If any individual step of a ritual makes you feel embarrassed, stressed, or avoidant, or if you feel relief from not having to do that any more - that technique is probably not serving you very well.
Seek out methods that make you feel excited, hopeful, empowered, or interested. Or, at the very least, ones that don't make you feel bad.
Be open to shifting your paradigm entirely
Going back to the stirring coffee thing, maybe I think stirring seven times is too much. So I try to stir my coffee three times. But that still feels clunky.
Then I get into left-handed vs right-handed stirring, because someone might have said that doing stuff with your right hand is for blessings.
Then I try out a new little inner mantra while I stir X times with Y hand.
But it's just not working. No matter what I try, it feels like walking barefoot on a gravel road.
So maybe I just need to do something entirely different.
Maybe numerology isn't my thing any more. Maybe now, I just need to embrace my inner divine creator.
Maybe I should think about the ultimately powerful creative energy within rich, black soil - and as I pour my coffee, I can imagine that I'm pouring pure creative energy into my divine cauldron. When I sprinkle in a little sugar, I'm seasoning that creative power to my personal tastes - and no matter how many times I stir it, when I drink that creative power, a new reality blossoms from within me.
No numbers. No memorized chants. No left hand/right hand stuff. Just me, imagining myself as a planet, drinking pure creative energy that will bloom out of my aura as wildflowers bloom in the spring.
Ask for help
I'm not called fool for no reason, and after a couple years of being unable to astral travel - after having successfully done so for years - I finally sat down and asked my spirits for help.
The answer was immediate and simple. So simple, in fact, that I was confident it wouldn't work at all.
Well, of course it worked. I spent years trying to figure out the problem on my own, trying time and time again to use an old technique that I was confident would work. It took a goddess like four seconds to tell me the new way it worked for me.
Even if you're not in communication with spiritual allies, you can still perform divination to help troubleshoot your own magical skills. Try asking a series of questions: what doesn't work for you any more, what you should try, and what you should avoid trying.
When divining, consider the different "levels" of application. A reading that means "don't use excessive force" might refer to high-level life stuff, like, you're working too hard on all your responsibilities right now, learn to relax and the magic will come. But, it might also be referring to something very specific, like, you're trying to raise huge amounts of energy in individual rituals, break them up into smaller spells where much less force is required for each one.

An analysis of Karma and Nagisa's conversations aged 18
Good translation of korotan D already exists. What hasn't really been delved into is the line by line dialogue directly from the Japanese and specific nuances between these two characters that I honestly find super interesting. So here, have stupidly long analysis of korotan d. All translations here are my own.
The text conversation
いま、ヒマっしょ? Are you free right now?
Even to start with, this is interesting. Karma is specifically using kind of incorrect Japanese here, 'text speak' ish. Considering how he immediately reverts to something more grammatically correct, it seems like he was doing this on purpose for some reason.
今日、試験だよね? Isn't it your exam today?
もちろん。いま昼休み Of course. Now's the lunch break. 三時に終わるからこのあと会おうよ I finish at three so let's meet after
This is actually not a very polite way to invite someone somewhere. The fact that he adds yo kind of makes it sound like he's made his mind up about this happening. The more correct way would have been to use the negative form of the verb, meaning more like "won't you meet me after?" As people with maybe a basic knowledge of Japanese will have picked up, his language has reverted to way more proper, and he's using kanji normally.
余裕だね I have time
It's interesting that Nagisa uses a different word for 'free time' here. Where 'hima' means free time more literally, 'yoyuu' is more like he has some sort of leeway or margin. It's almost like "well I have SOME time but I'm not totally free"
まあねー、で、四時にいつものファミレスでいい? Well, then, is 4 at the family restaurant we always go to good?
So family restaurant is a bit of a weird one. It's basically just a very casual and cheap restaurant, simply put. Think Dennys. In fact, knowing Japan, it probably literally is Dennys. A slight upgrade from McDonald's, at least? It's interesting that they have a place they apparently always go to. 'Family restaurant' is a really broad term so they clearly have a regular date spot hang out place.
大雪だよね? What about the heavy snow?
I hesitated about how to translate this. It's pretty close to "you know there's a blizzard, right?", he's just not overly questioning that. It's more like a prompt, like "are you thinking???"
こっちは大雪なのに試験受けてるんだっての I'm taking my entrance exams despite the heavy snow 渚も部屋でぬくぬくしてないで出てきなよ You can also come out rather than sit snuggly in your room
Good amount of localisation going on there, sorry folks. The way Karma's speaking here, you can kind of hear the whining. It's where people would maybe add a "~" to indicate his tone. He's basically saying "look at me suffering, get over yourself" lol. Of course, because Nagisa's a sucker, he takes the bait.
All in all, though, a pretty standard text conversation between two teenage boys.
More under the cut
Conversation at the restaurant
よー Yooo
(Nagisa gets lost in thought and doesn't respond)
どうしたの渚?俺の顔の位置、高すぎて見えない? What's wrong, Nagisa? Am I so tall you can't see my face?
I think it comes across in the translation, but this is so condescending I don't even know. Classic Karma?
.......うるさいなあ ...shut up
This actually felt a little out of character for Nagisa, honestly. The naaa part at the end makes it sound really dragged out and whiney, like "oh my god be quiet". I love that he probably confirmed that yes, he can't see Karma's face.
今日の試験どうだったの? How did the exam go today?
I should mention that in between these two lines, Nagisa internalises that he's been avoiding meeting up with Karma since the start of the year (I believe he means maybe for the last few weeks) due to worrying about him actually focusing on his exams. We really see his care for Karma in this.
別にどうってことないよ。想定内の問題が出ただけだから It was nothing special. All the problems were what I expected
Nagisa notes that Karma doesn't look particularly stressed even though the exams are meant to be super hard. Anyway, Karma continues.
試験はどうでもいいんだよ。呼び出したの相談があってさ。E組全員で卒業旅行、行こうよ。 The exams are whatever. I called you here to discuss something. Let's go on a graduation trip with all the members of the E Class.
Just like earlier, he's using the slightly impolite form of invitation here. Interesting that he wants to brush it off, though. Either it really is meaningless to him, or there are slight nerves making him want to not talk about it.
.......卒業旅行!? ... graduation trip?!
You don't need to have a good understanding of Japanese to get the surprise and confusion from Nagisa here. To explain, graduation trip is just a cultural 'thing', a kind of rite of passage. Not everyone does it, but there's a lot of people who go on a trip with their friends after they graduate high school.
俺ら、これから大学になったり実家の仕事継いだりするから、一緒に遊びに行くチャンスなんて滅多になくなるじゃん。三月中旬ならみんな余裕あるんじゃね? All of us, from now on we're going to university or taking over at our family businesses, so the chances to have good times together are decreasing. Everyone's free in the middle of March, right?
Honestly, I sense even more tone shifts here. It's like Karma starts to get into a deep thought, realises, and changes the subject.
.....三月中旬って、まだ入試終わってないよね。もし前期試験で落ちたら..... ...In the middle of March, entrance exams haven't finished yet. If anyone fails the first semester exam...
I find the use of 'ne' interesting here, similar to how Nagisa used it earlier. He's kind of speaking to him like a mother might gently speak to her child, trying to get him to come to the conclusion on his own (though with some prompting). It's almost like Nagisa is Karma's conscience here. It would make sense, since Karma could have done this on his own honestly. He needs Nagisa to ground him.
大丈夫だって。俺らE組から It'll be fine. We're the E Class.
Karma smiles at this apparently. Considering this text is mostly from Nagisa's perspective, he seems to describe Karma smiling a LOT.
Takebayashi narrowed down to the private universities that matched his ability so he wouldn't repeat the same blunder as his high school entrance exams, and Isogai brushed past me at the exam place earlier but he didn't seem to have having a problem. Even Terasaka will be a brash university student if he accepts his back up choice. As far as I've heard, everyone's generally okay.
A couple things in this. On what he says about Isogai, it's implied that they were close to each other and Isogai purposely avoided him or something. I mean, I wouldn't blame him under these conditions... More importantly, though, we can infer from this that Karma does actually talk to the rest of the class, clearly a lot more than Nagisa. At the very least, he reads the group chat.
そっかあ.... あっ. 茅野は行けないよ。そのころ、海外ロケだって言ってた Oh right... Ah. Kayano can't come. She said she'd be at an overseas movie shoot then.
マジで!? そっか残念... 茅野ちゃんは売れっ子女優だもんなー Seriously!? That's too bad... Kayano chan is an in demand actress huh...
So irrelevant to analysis, but I love how little it actually takes for Karma to lose his cool. He's such a nerd.
「ゴールドシティ」っていうアドベンチャーアクション映画って言ってたよ。 She said it's an action adventure movie called "Golden City".
え、うそ、それって、「ソニックニンジャ」 の監督の映画じゃん Huh, you're kidding, that's the Sonic Ninja's director's movie!
Folks, this is the moment where Akabane Karma loses his shit and blatantly fanboys. This is where your cool and edgy headcanons go to die. He starts saying "jan" too, rather than "ja nai" which leans into the Kanto dialect a bit. Basically, he's becoming noticeably less thoughtful about his words.
そうなの? It is?
This sticks out to me, actually, since we usually talk about Nagisa being a huge fan too. I honestly think Nagisa just likes generic action movies (typical boy), and also the comic. It's Karma who's the real deep fan. Maybe Nagisa ended up leaning into it more when they were younger so he'd some sort of way to connect to him?
そうだよ!すっげーうらやましいじゃん。もう国際派女優になってるんだな。茅野ちゃんすげーな。 Yeah it is! I'm super jealous. She already became an international actress. Kayano chan is amazing.
The first bit is kind of like "yeah of course you idiot", but less insulting. Honestly, forget your nagikae, it sounds like Karma's in love with her in this section :') A point of the Japanese is that he's saying "na" on the end of his sentences. This basically gives a similar effect to dragging out the syllables. Imagine a kid saying "It's not fairrrr".
茅野ちゃんとダメに連絡取ってるんだ? Have you been in contact with Kayano chan?
Once again, Karma changing the subject when he gets too deep into something. Maybe he realised how nerdy he was sounding.
うん、メッセージやり取りしてるだけだけど。向こうは忙しくなる一方だし、僕らの遊びで貴重な時間を奪うわけにはいかないよ Yeah, but we only exchanged messages. She's getting busy, so we can't snatch away her precious time with our fun.
Nagisa refers to Kayano as basically "the other party" here. I can't help but feel like this implies some kind of emotional distance.
渚は遠慮しすぎ。俺らにとっては 「マセ榛名」じゃなくて、同じE組だった茅野ちゃんなんだから。時にはダメ元で強引に誘ってみるのも、新愛なる仲間ってもんじゃね? You're too reluctant. For us it's not "Haruna Mase", but Kayano chan from the same E Class. Sometimes it doesn't hurt to directly try inviting her, isn't she our dear friend?
I feel like this bit needs like several asterisks. This COULD be read with a romantic implication. "Shinai" means like dear, or beloved, but as weird as it sounds in English, it's not explicitly romantic. "Nakama" is a weird one because it doesn't exactly mean friend. It's like... partner, ally, companion, comrade. In fact, I think the actual ass class subs did translate nakama as comrade once (I made a meme about it). I think you could read this as Karma digging for details on potential love life. However, this directly follows Karma saying "orera", which is "we", so it's more likely he does mean it in the collective sense here.
そうかもしれないけど.... I'm not sure about that....
For transparency, he probably means he's not sure it won't be harmful to bother her, not that Kayano isn't a dear friend.
でも、海外ロケ中じゃ卒業旅行に誘う無理か。ロケってどこに行くか聞いてる? But, is it impossible to invite her to the graduation trip while she's filming overseas? Did you ask where the location is?
Changing the subject suddenly again Karma?
うん、東南アジアのプノン国。世界遺産の寺院群でロケだって Yeah, Phnom in South East Asia. They're filming at the world heritage temples.
卒業旅行の行き先、決まったわ。プノン国の世界遺産観に行こう。 The destination of the graduation trip is decided. Let's go see the world heritage temples in Phnom.
えっ!? Eh!?
ちょうどいいじゃん。卒業旅行、海外もアリだと思ってたからさ、茅野ちゃんのところに行っちゃおうよ。 Isn't it just about perfect? I'd thought about a graduation trip that was also over seas, so let's go to Kayano chan.
Yeah, it really seems like Karma had this all figured out already. He just forced Nagisa to witness the car crash.
そんな、無茶だよ。僕達が行ったら迷惑になるし That's... completely unreasonable. We'd be a nuisance if we went.
And for once Nagisa's quite right.
別に撮影邪魔しにいくわけじゃないからいいじゃん。たまたま一緒になっただけだよ。たまたま。 It's fine if we don't do anything to particularly disturb the shooting. We only just so happened to be together. By chance.
Basically, Karma is blatantly bullshitting here. He is talking shit and he knows it. He keeps ending his sentences with "jan", too, which is kind of like an additional "I'm in the right", it's basically making every statement rhetorical.
決まりだね It's concluded then
You can read the defeat in Nagisa's voice here. He, too, has reached the conclusion that Karma didn't seriously want his opinion on if this was a good idea or not.
At this point in the story, Karma starts messaging the group chat on LINE. I'm not going to translate all of that, but they basically affirm his bullshitting.
ほら、みんな行きたがってる。決定だね。 See, everyone wants to come. It's decided.
しょうがないなあ、もう。 There's nothing that can be done, already.
Shouganai is a bit of a weird one. It's a big thing in Japan. Basically there's no use fighting it, so may as well just go with the flow and get on with it. Clearly there is something that can be done in this situation, but essentially Nagisa knows it's not worth it to fight Karma.
The next context you need is that Isogai is worried about being able to go on the trip.
磯貝のやつ、なに弱気になってんだろ... あいつの実力ならぜったい受かってんのに What's with Isogai acting all weak-kneed? That guy will definitely pass the exam with his full strength
うーん.... 多分だけど... 磯貝君は旅行代のことも気にしてるんじゃないかな。 Well... but maybe... might Isogai kun also care about the travel cost?
あーそっか、相変わらず貧乏だもんな... 賞金も俺たちと同じ額しか受け取ろうとしなかったし。 Ah, that's right, he's still as poor as ever. He only accepted the same amount of prize money as the rest of us too.
I think this interaction is really interesting. Karma complains, Nagisa softly corrects him and leads him in the right direction, again with the "kana" like a parent speaking to a child. This leads Karma to re-evaluate and understand the situation better. It's a really great dynamic.
Nakamura messages in the group chat that she can use her contacts to find cheap accommodation.
さすが、中村は仕事早いなあ。これで磯貝も来れるよ。渚も文句ないっしょ? As expected, Nakamura's early at work. With this, Isogai can also come. You also can't complain, right?
This definitely reads like a jab. Like "are you happy yet"? Lowkey seems like Karma gets a kick out of debating with him.
...僕が茅野のスケジュール言っちゃったからみんなで押しかけることになって、責任感じるよ。 ...We'll all be pushing Kayano's schedule because I told you, and I'll feel responsible.
Basically, Karma's a massive gossip.
そこ心配無用。茅野ちゃんのスケジュールは、今本人から直接もらったから。 There's no use worrying about that. Kayano herself just told me about her schedule directly.
え!? Eh!?
ほら、これで茅野ちゃんから直接ロケ地と時期確認したよ。渚がバラしたとか関係なくなったし、心置きなく旅行楽しもうよ。 See, here I confirmed the location and time directly with Kayano chan. It doesn't matter if you let out a secret or are involved in this plan, so let's enjoy the trip without worrying about it.
Today I learnt that "to rose" (as in the flower) means to spill secrets. So there, Karma canonically comparing Nagisa to a rose. Go nuts. I guess Karma's fine with taking the fall for him.
気を遣ってくれてありがたいけど、大人数で押しかけちゃってほんとに茅野喜んでくれるかなあ... Thanks for the concern, but I wonder if Kayano will really be happy with a big group of people showing up uninvited
This leads me to think I've been slightly incorrect about the characterisation of Nagisa's sass. This reallly reads as sarcastic to me, because I don't think Nagisa would genuinely give such a long winded thanks for what Karma said. King, basically.
もちろんだって。じゃあさ、茅野ちゃんに撮影スケジュールと宿泊先聞いといて。 Of course. So, can you ask Kayano chan about her filming schedule and her lodging?
AKA, Karma chooses to ignore the sass and run with it, making Nagisa regret even trying.
そんなの無理だって! I can't do that!
あはは、だよねー。俺だってそこまでずうしくは聞けないわ~。みんなで押しかけること、茅野ちゃんにはサプライズにするから黙っといてよ。 Ahaha, that's right. Even I can't ask that much~. Let's push it together, and it will be a surprise for Kayano chan so keep it quiet.
I should point out that Karma, "smiling like a demon", straight up just leaves at this point. This man needs to be stopped. He's so annoying.
The end of the book
「カルマ、すごいうれしいよね?隠してもわかっちゃうよ」 渚がカルマの心中を見透かした。 「別にぃー」 そう言いつつ、カルマはニヤリとした。
"Karma, you're super happy right? I can tell even though you're hiding it." Nagisa saw right through Karma's heart. "It's nothing special..." he said, but Karma grinned.
Why am I including this? There's nothing particular to add. It's just... it melts my heart every time, okay?
Okay so the actual content. This is right at the end, where Nagisa has run off to try and avoid watching Kayano's kiss scene.
渚、どこいくの?撮影現場はあっちだよ。 Nagisa, where are you going? They're filming the scene over there.
It's painfully obvious here that Karma really just wanted to tease him. I think we can infer that he thinks Nagisa's just jealous of Kayano kissing someone.
茅野の邪魔にならないようにと思って I thought I'd be a disturbance to Kayano
茅野ちゃんの刃はそんなに脆くないって言ってたの、渚じゃん。ここで信頼してあげなくてどうするんだよ。 You're not saying Kayano chan's blade is so weak? What will happen if you don't give her your faith here?
This has strong "tut tut" energy. He's certainly trying to get under Nagisa's skin.
...あと、茅野とジェロームのキスシーンを見たら、余計な心配しちゃいそうで。 I'll be even more worried after watching Kayano and Jerome's kissing scene
It seems like Nagisa's phrasing this extremely poorly. Like yeah, this does sound suggestive.
ほうほう、それはまたどうして? Uh huh, and what do you mean by that?
Naturally, Karma responds to the suggestiveness. I can picture him grinning madly at this. He's purposely trying to push Nagisa's buttons. I think this is the most he's probably got out of him about his feelings towards Kayano.
茅野がいるのは、仕事を通して何が起きるかわからないような怖い世界でしょ。 Through the line of work Kayano's in, I don't know what kind of things occur but it's a scary world, right?
And then of course, Nagisa actually reveals the whole time he's just worried about the toxic showbiz industry. Which is just so painfully Nagisa of him. It sounds like the potential feelings thing went completely over his head, which aligns with what Kayano says at the end of the manga, where she makes clear that Nagisa doesn't have that kind of thing on his radar.
まー...かもね Well-... maybe
This line is actually kind of funny, because it's clear Karma doesn't know how to respond. I think he's just bewildered, honestly.
万がーああいう悪い虫がついて、彼女の女優の将来に悪影響が出ちゃったら。。。って想像すると、応援してる身としては複雑でさ。 When by any chance an undesirable boyfriend is attached, it has a negative impact on women actress's futures... If I imagine that, I have mixed feelings about giving my support.
I'm not fully sure what Nagisa means here. Support the industry she's a part of? Give the other actor a the wrong idea? This does kind of come off to me like he recognises what it looks like with Kayano, but that is the wrong idea. Or maybe I'm reading into it.
When he saw Nagisa call a rising Hollywood star an undesirable boyfriend, Karma felt like he was about to blow out. was it friendship, parental affection, fan psychology, or else some other kind of feeling? Nagisa himself probably didn't even know his true feelings, but for Nagisa, the fact that Kayano is an important existence hasn't changed.
I've been mostly skipping non dialogue, but this is very clearly Karma's internal thoughts, and I found it interesting. Yeah, he's clearly frustrated with him, but at least Karma acknowledges it's not like Nagisa's hiding anything from him. I find 'parental affection' honestly a super interesting point because yeah, that kind of does seem to be how Nagisa treats her a lot. In fact, it reflects back to what I said earlier about the way he speaks to Karma like a parent sometimes. It's a dynamic I don't think people talk about that often? Surprising what's noticeable in the Japanese.
ほら、ガタガタ言ってないで見に行くよ。応援してるんならちゃんと見届けなきゃ。 See, instead of grumbling about it go and see it. You have to see it with your own two eyes if you want to support her.
This seems less like Karma's dropping a topic because he doesn't want to talk about it. Instead, I think he's being genuinely helpful.
渚の肩を抱いて無理やる引っ張っていく。 He grabbed Nagisa by the shoulders and squeezed him impossibly tight (so he can't escape).
Well, this ended up being a monster post, and you've finally reached the end. I hope it was interesting to someone, at least? I hope this can maybe help writers with capturing characterisation in dialogue! It's hard to go wrong with the direct source text.

if you're still up for writing for the owl house, can I get some scenarios of a character or characters of your choice comforting a trans (FtM) reader?
YESSSS YES
im having a owl house brainrot rn (mostly a hunter brainrot but shhh)
Let's fucking GOOOO
!! FtM reader, Gender Dysphoria, Male reader implied !!
OWL HOUSE CHARACTERS WITH A TRANS S/O
Eda
Eda tries hard to understand your struggle
She understands that only you can decide how you feel
No matter what, she'll support your decision
You'll still be her lovable rascal
If someone misgenders you
She'll correct them
"Hey they, buddy. Keep what I told ya in your mind. Wouldn't want ya making another mistake, how would we?"
When comforting, she'll get you some of your comfort foods and just listen to you vent
She trusts you to make the right decision
Hugs and kisses are frequent with her
Luz
Oh my god
AAAAAAA
She's so happy for you
But she knows when she needs to be comforting
Like Eda, she'll comfort your decision
She will always tell you how masculine you look
When someone misgenders you
She's QUICK to correct
"Hey! You better not get it wrong again or I, Luz the human will preform some uh... Threatening human... Things!"
She's so wholesome-
Sometimes-
Like Eda, she'll listen and hug you
She'll even have some plushies with her
Don't worry, they aren't from kings army
She'll offer as much support as she can
Willow
She loves you for you
She'll play with your hair while you vent
Willow will ask if you would sometimes want to work out with her if you feel stressed
She's really caring
Willow will also give you a kiss on the cheek here and there
Saying that you'll be perfect to her reguardless
When someone misgenders you on accident, she'll correct them nicely
"Hey, I'm sure you didn't know this but (S/o) goes by {preferred pronouns}. So please don't make that mistake again"
But if they do it on purpose-
"I already told you, (S/o) goes by {... }, it's fine to pick on me. But there's no reason for you to be a jerk about it, especially when I already told you not to make that mistake again"
She'll feed them to man eating plants
Amity
(Considering this is a FtM and that Amity is a lesbian, this will be platonic)
She completely understands
You don't know how you feel
But she'll help you through it
You're one of her best friends and she'll listen to you
Back rubs, comfort food
Stuff like that
And oh Titan, she better not hear someone misgender you
"Abomination, rise"
She knows they know
So there's no excuse for them to misgender you
Gus
He doesn't understand much but hell
He'll be there
Gus will help you through your dysphoria with his breathing techniques
If you want, he can make illusions showing how you would look
ONLY if you want
If he catches someone misgendering you
He won't say anything, he'll just torture the person with a small illusion and go on with his day
Lilith
Ah, she understands
Feeling conflicted is some she often feels
She'll support you, no matter your choice
She's not the best with comforting so she gives you small gifts instead
"Guess who got the newest edition to {favorite book(series)}
She'll watch movies with you
Help you discover your identity even if she doesn't understand much on comforting
If she catches someone misgendering you while she was in the emperor's coven
"Hm, I don't believe that's a proper way to speak about the coven heads partner, I'd prefer it if you used the *proper* term"
If she wasn't in the coven
"Oh titan, another one of these.."
She doesn't have magic or power so she does what she can
She punches them then runs
Mwahahahahaha
Hunter
OhmygodIlovehimsomuchlikeaaaaaaa
He isn't.. He doesn't know how to help
But flapjack guides him
He'll listen and offer advice from what he knows about finding your identity
He knows it's not easy but he'll be with you as much as he can
Hunter will also give you gifts that he finds nice, thinking you'll also like it
He'd be proud to call you his lover any day
Now if he catches someone misgendering you with his golden guard mask on
"I'm sure you're aware on (S/o)'s preference, and yet you go against it. I'm sure the conformitorium has a place for people like you"
And without the mask
"Hey! I'm pretty sure you already know (S/o)'s preferred pronouns, and I'm not sure the golden guard would approve of someone like you"
He really doesn't know what to do in the situation but he tries anyways
Flapjack will be on his shoulder like "ay, you got this"
Or sometimes flapjack with be on your shoulder and will just cheep as he let's you let him

Hey wonderful Minnie!
Your ask re Twitter people being awful about Bucky reminded me that last week I was researching manslaughter in English law (for reasons of an "Endeavour" fic I'm writing ;-) ) and ended up following a rabbit hole to the defense (found in US law as well) of "automatism" which immediately made me think of him. Here is an extract from the Wikipedia page:-
"In the U.S., People v Huey Newton (1970) 8 CA3d 359 holds that unconsciousness, when not self-induced (say, as by voluntary intoxication), is a complete defence to a criminal act even though the defendant's acts seem very goal-oriented... [T]he reflexive activity or unconsciousness need not cause physical collapse: it can exist where the subject physically acts in fact, but is not at the time conscious of acting (cf some European continental jurisdictions classify conduct resulting from automatism under the rubric of unconsciousness). In R. v. Cogdon (1950), unreported but noted in Morris, Somnambulistic Homicide: Ghosts, Spiders and North Koreans (1951) 5 Res Judicatae 29, the defendant struck her daughter on the head with an axe while sleepwalking and dreaming about North Koreans. Her movements were not voluntary, so she was acquitted. This interpretation of automatism is consistent with Lord Denning's dicta in Bratty v Attorney-General for Northern Ireland (1963) AC 386, at 409:
No act is punishable if it is done involuntarily: and an involuntary act in this context – some people nowadays prefer to speak of it as 'automatism' – means an act which is done by the muscles without any control by the mind, such as a spasm, a reflex action or a convulsion; or an act done by a person who is not conscious of what he is doing, such as an act done whilst suffering from a concussion or whilst sleepwalking.""
In other words, Bucky isn't just not morally responsible for what Hydra made the Winter Soldier do, he legally has a complete defence and *did not do what the Winter Soldier was made to do*. Any outcome of a trial that doesn't end with his total exoneration is a massive miscarriage of justice, and my goodness it's frustrating that the MCU doesn't seem to know that, let alone a lot of the fans. :-( The films postulate the existence of that degree of mind control; they should darn well go to the proper logical conclusion.
And Gods, poor Bucky. Essentially he has the memories of committing crimes he did not commit. Which fucking *sucks* and is ridiculously unfair, and like you said he needs and deserves proper therapy that helps him grapple with those memories and accept his own innocence. There were some things I did love about tfatws, but they got this so drastically, tearingly wrong. :-(
Hello my darling!! ❤️ This is such an incredible ask, thank you SO much for this. I had never heard of 'automatism' in this sense I think, but this makes complete sense, and clearly applies to Bucky's situation. And what's more, his lack of 'control of the mind' was not just due to a naturally occurring defect of his body or an unfortunate accident; it was purposely inflicted on him. Purposely and violently and mercilessly. The fact that, as you said, the films postulate the existence of that degree of mind control and yet they still insist on victim blaming Bucky at every possible turn is just mindboggling and incredibly frustrating.
And don’t even get me started about what you said about Bucky consciously having to live with the memories of the crimes he didn’t consciously commit. That just takes the horrors he’s had to live through and still has to try and come to terms with on a daily basis to a new and uniquely painful level. The way they wrote and developed his story is utterly tragic, and now the MCU refuses to take responsibility for it. It’s just… very very sad. (Also, I totally agreed with what you said about Sam’s characterization re: Bucky’s trauma in TFATWS in the tags to that ask of mine you reblogged. They really didn’t do Sam or his trauma justice either and the ableism is blatant and terrible)
Anyways, thank you again for being completely correct, and for once again showing why these characters ought to be written by people who actually care about them.

“Have you been here for a long time?”
“Have you been here for a long time?”
“Have you been here for a long time?”
Time bends and twists into unknowns shapes when well spent. So, you’re so not sure. Long enough for your fairy garden to start looking like at least a proper garden, long enough for your feet to start fidgeting, brushing against the soft fabric of the blanket ever so slightly and softly.
“Can you share your screen?”
“I’m just picking flowers, there’s nothing much to see,” you warn but it never does the proper job.
“That’s fine, I like watching you play.”
“Oh, do you now?”
“Yeah. You’ve been playing for years and you’re still dog water. It's almost soothing,” you hear him grin through the silkiness of his voice.
You smile evasively, palm gripping the mouse and executing on memory. Soon, Sapnap’s satisfied noises hovers and everything is just how it’s supposed to be. You spend a while humming the music of days and nights of the game while building your project. Sap helps from time to time, giving advice when his attention is there and leaving trails of compliments on his way. You don’t think the garden is necessarily that good, you don’t mind either.
“Do you think the tree should go on the left or the right of the pond?” You ask, fingers drumming back and forth between the two options. Right he says. "What about the roses, do I plant some or not?"
“It’s just a detail, don’t hurt your brain too much on that,” he says in a light tone, but you disagree.
“Details are what make things important. Like when you remember I prefer warm pillows so you give me yours, it’s just a detail but it makes me happy.”
“Of course I do; you’re a baby,” he murmurs teasingly.
With an arched eyebrow, you retort, “says you,” and silence follows for a second as you plant the tree on the right of the pond.
“Yeah, Dream already made sure I was aware of that.”
“Not sure why the piss baby thinks he’s qualified to have this conversation, buddy,” you note and Sap chuckles are as vivid as contagious. “Why would he call you a baby anyway? What have you done?”
“I-I’m not telling you.” As soon as the mumbles fades, your phone sends loud vibrations on your desk. You abandon your character to the night and the wildness, picking the phone as you murmur a low oh, okay. Whether it’s to your phone or Sapnap, that, isn’t really clear. Still, Sapnap’s words sound more distant, more of what wonders are made of. On the screen, a twitter notification of a certain Karl Jacobs.
“You’re not even listening to me anymore,” Sapnap whines.
“I don’t listen to whiny babies, sorry.”
“We’re on the verge of divorce, yn and it’s your fault.”
A scoff skitters out through teasing lips, “But you still talk about me all the time, don’t you?” Your voice drags through different lands, unknown and musky.
“So what?” He splutters all awkward like it’s some kind of confidence that shouldn’t have left his thoughts and, somehow, you’re surprised the almighty confidence has left the game. “Who said that?”
“Doesn’t matter. You’re obsessed with me, admit it,” you demand and though you don’t notice it, too tangled with the moment, the atmosphere is tinted with a different nuance like it’s suddenly dawn at the end of a summer party.
“So are you.”
Now, your heart drums a strange yet familiar rhythm. Something made of secrets and uncertainty, something you decided to leave unnamed a long time ago. Sapnap, you reason, can’t be lied to. He knows better than words half meant, half made up and it’s annoying, really, but he just does somehow. If you dare to lie, he would know and then it would be even more annoying.
“Yeah, you’re living in my head rent free but at least I’m not trying to hide it.” No answer. You peek at the game, you’ve been slain by a spider. “Karl said that,” you resign yourself. “He said he was about to join the vc by the way.”
Before the conversation can carry on, the sound of Karl joining the call resonates. Being in this Discord server is like living in a house with 10 siblings, that’s what you understand from the way Sap exhales heavily.
“Oh, I am interrupting something?” Karl says, struck by a peculiar energy.
“Besties time Karl, besties time,” Sapnap mumbles beneath his breath and it chimes a little like disappointment.
“Well, too bad I guess,” Karl exclaims. “It's about time I meet miss Bunnyshow.”
Karl is like that gif of a cat sitting in a tiny box with the caption “if it fits, I sit”.
“Does that mean our passive aggressive subweet arc is over?” You ask, faking the dejection when your smile grows wide.
“Oh god, I hope not. That’s my favorite part of the day.”
"It means a lot to me. Especially coming from my comfort streamer Karl Jacobs," you confess.
Satisfied, your attention gets back on the game; flowers rooting gracefully into the dirt and hives ready to host the beloved honey bugs as Karl and Sap catch up on time being apart. Everything is quiet and peaceful like the end of an afternoon well spent.
“I like your garden,” Karl points out and you hum a thank you beneath your breath.
“So you can take Karl’s compliments but not mine.”
“We’re besties you’re honor. Sapnap you can leave now, thank you,” Karl giggles and you follow along.
“Sorry Karl, there’s only room for one man in my heart and that has to be Sapnap.”
He fakes a cry to keep the theatrics before adding without transitions, “You know if you asked Dream he’d probably let you on the SMP.”
“No thanks,” you grin.
“Sapnap, your girl doesn’t want to play with us.”
“She’s already been whitelisted for months now,” Sapnap informs but fails to comment on the first part of the complaint.
He’s not lying, but you feel like it says more about Dream’s stubbornness than it says about you. As for your best friend, he understands better than anyone that wish for privacy and it’s something made of respect like yours for his career. You’d rather see him shaped by all the light than being touched by a glimpse of it. He does, after all, deserves it all. So, that’s the contract you made with yourself because it made sense; being a supportive shadow. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not that you’ve never considered streaming before. It’s that it’s his world more than yours.
Karl, on the other hand, doesn’t seem to think the same way, “This is unacceptable, I gotta send a few texts.”
“Lost cause, dude, lost cause,” you grin but stubbornness seems to be a pre required trait for those mcyts.
Before you have time to find a suitable comment about the newborn group chat, a new person joins the call and Sapnap's annoyance is even more palpable, "No fucking way dude. We can't even have a second of peace on this server."
"Why would you be in a discord call if you want peace. You're just dumb," Quackity retorts with an energy he and he only can ever own.
Then George joins and Dream follows on his heels and soon your ears are filled with conversations that are as loud as scattered. Your shoulders sink in the back of your chair as soft fingers try to brush the upcoming migraine away. This is why you can't join the SMP; -not really but still- too much energy that has to be processed at all time. And you should know better, being friend with a very chaotic boy for the last 15 years, but you're not somehow.
"No, fuck that," Sapnap mutters. "I'm out."
"You can't leave now we have things to discuss," George exclaims. "Bunny, explain to me how Sapnap's proposition is more appealing than mine."
"Because I know her more than you do," he defends, and he's right. Money isn't of you interest. Love, on the other hand...
"Because she's like scronch'love," Karl giggles mindlessly.
"The fuck does scronch'love mean?" You ask, amused.
"It's very simple," Quackity intervenes. "If I offered you the same thing, would you even consider it?"
"Of course I would. What kind of question is that?"
"Fine. So, if Sapnap keeps his offer, here is mine; you become the president of Las Nevadas in addition to what he said."
"What?" Sapnap takes offense.
The call brims with an agitated confusion as you smile deviously, heels rooted into the floor to make your chair spin lightly and your fingers drum on your desk.
"I don't think you wanna do that," George corrects.
"Yeah, you absolutely don't," you confirm.
"Fine," he retorts. "So Sapnap's offer plus a Las Nevadas citizenship. How does that sound?"
"Like an offer I'll confider," you sigh. "So who's scronch'love now?"
"Still you," Dream answers. "Except you're also a big dummy."
.・゜゜・ ・゜゜・ .・゜゜・ ・゜゜・
A/N : helloooo,, how are you??? this part very self indulgent and I think this fic will be in general but I hope you liked it anyway. I love the idea of c!quackity always being too much and always having something to add to be even more over the top. I'm having more trouble than I thought about Bunny's and Sap's friendship because I want them to have a very special friendship but I hope it appears as such. idk. lmk what you think and thank you for reading it it makes me very happy <3 Until next time (ɔˆ ³(ˆ⌣ˆc)
