#stardew valley#sdv#video games#gaming#sdv farmhouse#the junimo plant is LITERALLY the best furniture item#it's SUCH a good space taker#i think the last room is just going to be a partial indoor greenhouse and butterfly farm#and then just a reading nook#i like that the island house is literally just the farmer's. it would be cool if your spouse could visit it when they go to the beach tho#but like. it's JUST the farmer's space. you don't have to worry about furniture obscuring pathing of the spouse/children#so when i decorate this house i always like to go 'what would *i* want in this space'#i honestly really like how this house is turning out. i didn't think it would take the direction it did lol#it's a very blue house which is surprising because my favourite colour is yellow and i usually decorate with it primarily

#My art#Just Desserts#The JD residents all live on the northmost landmass in the middle green area - which I've been calling The Basin#It's a fairly flat area that has a very extreme mountain range to its north#They jut up extremely and then clifface on the coastline - keeps the Basin very protected from high moisture!#I've mentioned before how the JD universe doesn't really have summers - I mean that's Partially true#The Basin only experiences three seasons but the more south you go the more seasonal variation there is#But Residents can't stand the heat - even ones that are pastries that would require heat to bake don't fare well day after day#So none live in warmer climes! Other things do tho :)#It's funny to me how piecemeal this idea came together haha#The map-making trick is hecka cool! And it was definitely the push I needed but there are other bits of this that fell in line first#Most especially the fun little idea that I've doodled here or there and talked about in bits and pieces#Of how since the residents are candy that they mine teeth like cavities haha - it's canon now! >:3c#The northern mountains are the silhouette of the lower half of a human jaw! And with how they jut up - the mountains are shaped like teeth!#The Basin is the basin of the mouth/jaw where the tongue would normally be - the tasty bit haha#And residents do have a calcium-mining industry up there - and if the deposits happen to form in a specific shape well ♪ Hehehe#I'm still parsing what I'd like the mineral to Do exactly - it's more likely to be a building material than a food item but hmm#Why would they have such a need for it! Something more to consider#For now it's just a fun idea that finally got put to reality hehe ♪ And it was a fun thing to work on! :D#I'm not sure yet of what other landmasses might be around - maybe this is the whole world! - or what other fauna and flora there is#I'm back on thinking about Elemental Magic so there's that lol I can't help it#I'd like for the JD universe's magic system to be a little more defined :) Every little step helps!#See if you can identify the other silhouettes I used! :D

it is Extremely funny that the whole watcher thing just ended after one weekend of people being like hey this was poorly thought out and a terrible idea. lmao. cringe fail financial decision.
#i think where they ended up makes plenty of sense! it's just an alternative to patreon tho#like i like their content i'll probably still watch ghost files and mystery files and if they bring back their scary stories one#the one with the cool art not the one where they get drunk I don't like that one as much#but i don't care enough to pay 6 bucks a month#they would have just lost me as a viewer entirely lol#also tbf i have adblock and sponsor block on my youtube so I don't see ads or even sponsored sections of videos#so i'm still not really helping them earn money lol#i just feel like they were aiming for something like dropout which works bc a) the number of projects dropout makes#b) the huge cast across all of their shows#and c) a much more established brand even at the time of their shift to streaming#also the fact that dropout puts out multiple episodes of different shows a week lol#and they needed to go more like mythical society from rhett and link#which is pretty much just patreon with enough extra perks that people are extra inclined to buy into it#like with mythical society people who pay more get physical perks like exclusive merch and free items every few months#plus a ton of extra content like bts stuff and extra episodes of certain things#that's what they should do. imo.#anyway. ive been giggling at this all weekend

In my humble opinion, RNG is one of the worst features a video game can have.
Making things "rare drops" and forcing the player to spend so much extra time in your game all for the sake of "replayability" is dumb.
If I can't acquire everything in one playthrough, ESPECIALLY if it's a 40+ hour game, I don't want it.*

anyway the con last weekend was fun! i got merch of TWO!!!!!(!!!) special interests AND my favorite movey AND my favorite tv show AND my favorite manga. and a keychain of a yuri ship. life is so fucking good

had the weirdest but coolest dream ever that i might have to turn into an au
#it’s sort of like a soulmates/mythological deity/time loop situation?#it wasn’t h&l in the dream but whatever#basically they’re soulmates and harry is some sort of mythological figure in this reality#and he was punished for smth or other to be separated from louis and has to try to find an organic way to be in his life this reality#but louis is stuck in this time loop and it takes him a few days to figure that part out bc the other ppl are like wtf are u talking about#ur crazy lol but he’s determined and fixates on certain things that wind up disappearing the next day#and then one of the days harry appears w the first item he fixated on and even tho louis doesn’t know him and sort of doesn’t like h#initially anyway#they wind up like??? play wrestling and just become so happy to be w each other and then out of view this like. timeless entity appears#and h is like look at how i found him this time!! pls let us stay together#but the entity is like nah and the day ends and starts over again#louis finally clues in to the fact that h is key to figuring out wtf is going on#but there were like statues and mentions of him in books before and now he’s just gone completely#the dream ended there but i feel like i’d make it so louis has to go through a few more days until he gets that they’re somehow soulmates#and need to find each other#and he has to be the one to find h eventually#and idk it was so whimsical and cool#it probs makes no sense bc Dream Logic#but i need this to be a thing now lmao#rowyn rambles

Guys I think the writing for fire emblem engage is somehow worse than fire emblem fates. Im a longtime fire emblem fan, I've played every recent game, and this... this is just Awful lmfao
Im still having plenty of fun & I have my handful of characters I love soooo much. But God fucking damn this writing is just some of the worst I've ever seen in a game

Final conclusion (since I ran out of tags): What Even Is This Fucking Game. Definitely my least favorite fire emblem game in many respects, but By God I'm going to finish this bitch and I'm gonna have plenty of fun as I do so. And I'm also going to make fun of every narrative choice it makes along the way bc the writing in this game is just SO fucking bad holy shit. I just need to finish this game and get on with my life already. God fuckin damn.)
#speculation nation#ive been critical of it from the start. bc it really isnt good. tho ive softened in some respects#it's plenty of fun thankfully. i enjoy the battle system a lot & the maps can be challenging in a fun way#but the moment i stop to think about Anything it all just feels so ridiculous#there have been a few moments it's surprised me. plot twists that were Almost cool.#but most of the time it's just throwing a bunch of shit out of left field at me and expecting me to be invested (im not)#so it's like. the 'plot twists' are either things i saw coming from a mile away OR things that r just so fucking insane it's not satisfying#like. the game saying 'oh man this thing you need to get to is at the bottom of this biiiig frozen lake! however will you get there?'#'how about... you trust the woman who has been an antagonist THE ENTIRE GAME UP UNTIL NOW to be telling the truth & to be helping u'#'heres a magic item she used the rest of her life to make! how sad! dont you feel bad for her? she wanted to be a mother!'#'no dont think about all the times she hit your little sister :) she feels bad about it so it's obviously ok actually :)'#'anyways take her magic item. itll get you to the bottom of the lake. how you ask? underwater breathing? PHHHSH'#'NAH your ass is going a thousand years into the past to break this thing b4 it fell into the lake OH ALSO you meet your past self#from when you were evil. good luck! :)'#im. not making any of this up. im not making ANY of this up and i really wish i was.#i was just rubbing my temples for that entire stretch of story it's so fucking stupid.#i think one of the most interesting things it did from a narrative standpoint was take away the rings 12 chapters in#so you hit rock bottom and have to crawl your way back out with the help of some unexpected allies#like. yea that's interesting. EXCEPT from a GAMEPLAY standpoint it's one of my least favorite fucking things in the game#you get used to this set of mechanics but halfway through you have to switch gears to an entirely different set of mechanics#and by the time you finally get everything back & ur army is full and whole. the game is almost over.#itd like that narrative choice SO MUCH MORE if it didnt set me back in such a major way & restrict total gameplay access to the End#every game has a slow trickle in of new characters so you dont have everyone until later in but EVEN THEN#you generally have everyone by 2/3rds way thru the game. then the last third you pick ur favs and u train them for the end#in this game. you dont get everyone until fucking chapter 23 of 26. my army is full and veyle is such a delight to have#but i only got her in CHAPTER. FUCKING. TWENTY THREE OF TWENTY SIX.#i just finished chapter 25. im nearly at the end. i love my main army but it feels like ive barely gotten to know them as a whole#bc it only finally formed TWO CHAPTERS AGO.#im just. god this game is so frustrating in a way ive NEVER experienced before. and ive played a lot of games!!!!!#like dont get me wrong im still having fun with it. i love a lot of the characters and the gameplay (now that i HAVE all of it) is So fun
