The original Shi 1/6th-scale action figure.

Based on the comic book character created by Billy Tucci, this figure was released in the early 2000s by Takara/BBI as part of their Cool Girl line.

In addition to the sixteen original figures in the Cy Girls/Cool Girls line-up, Shi was one of several licensed characters also released. Other licensed figures included Akiko Fuji from Ultraman, Anne Yuri from Ultraseven, Cutey Honey, Motoko Kusanagi from Ghost in the Shell, and Jun/Princess from Science Ninja Team Gatchaman/Battle of the Planets.

its wild to me how western european beauty standards even effected me as a child. my blonde, blue-eyed ass. i'd tan and come inside to look at my skin and it was "darker" in a way thats not conventionally understood as beautiful, I thought I was "supposed" to have more red and orange pigment when I tanned

also my mom told me on the way home that when I was born my cousin and my mom's bff's daughter got in a big fight at the hospital over their barbies and my mom said her daughter (me!) was never gonna play with barbie! Barbie wasn't the kinda toy her daughter would play with!

So my aunt got me my first barbie for my 1st birthday and I got allll the barbies my cousin didn't want anymore and eventually the whole family got me so many barbies I had a giant tub of them and I even had a barbie limo! and I'd put my kitten in it with barbie and they'd run over ken & my mom was so happy I had barbies like she did lol

Sadly, you can't buy the BBW Lawyer Barbie from the movie. I checked first thing. You can get multiple versions of Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling. To their credit, they did do a Simu Liu Ken and a Madam President Barbie at least. And you can get the "I am Kenough" sweater, which I probably will.

Mattel does have a "curvy body" version of Barbie that appears in several Fashionista line dolls, though, so if you have a kid that is chubby like I was, you can still get them used to having less clothing options early. She looks like a very tall and sleek 12 to 14 in American sizes, about like most plus size models, so that checks out.

I'm being a little mean to this large corporation, maybe. The Monster High/Rainbow High type dolls have zero options like the dolls with prosthesis and bald heads I have in my collection. And maybe little girls just won't buy chubby dolls for their fantasy playtime.

It'd still be cool to have BBW Lawyer Barbie as an option for collectors, though.
