To get myself out of a cooking rut I am re-challenging myself to cook a new recipe every week!

This was a nice vegan potato curry from a huge vegetarian cookbook that I bought for 50 cents during the pandemic. Hubby liked the spices. We had naan on the side. Next time I'd add some fresh spinach in the end for some more color and veg. 7/10

Today I made the Pink Cake! In Stardew Valley, you can learn the recipe from The Queen of Sauce during the summer of your second year. It calls for Melon, Wheat Flour, Sugar, and Egg.

I used the official cookbook for mine 😉 so it's a yellow cake with a watermelon-strawberry jam filling and strawberry-cream cheese frosting. I had so much fun! The jam was tart and chunky while the cake was moist and the icing was like a pleasant strawberry cheesecake. The three elements worked really well together! It was balanced and not overly sweet. I did cut back on the lemon in the recipe as it seemed like quite a lot and added extra dried strawberry to the frosting to enhance the flavor.

If you wanted yours to be as tall as in the game, I would recommend doubling both the cake and icing but you should have plenty of jam.

Saoirse and Cillian dug their fanciest clothing out of the depths of their wardrobe and head out to the pub to ring in the new year with the rest of Henford on Bagley. Since they're hoping to be parents soon they thought tonight would be the perfect chance to have their last hoorah. Saoirse did still play it safe with mocktails and water all night, though. After making their resolutions they gathered to watch the countdown to midnight and shared their new years kiss.

This is based on me and a friend but Velma 100% made the gang set up goodreads profiles and has them do the yearly challenge (to 100 books) together and gets uber competitive about beating them (which she always does, easily)

I've cooked my very first dish - the Tropical Curry recipe! In game, you purchase the recipe from Gus while he's set up his stall at the Ginger Island Resort and it requires three ingredients: coconut, pineapple, and hot pepper.

I read the recipe from the official Stardew valley cookbook and used: pineapple, coconut oil, onion, bell pepper, Serrano pepper, garlic, ginger, thyme, Jamaican curry powder, veggie stock, coconut milk, gold potatoes, sweet potatoes, rice, and cilantro.

It came out great! I couldn't get Jamaican curry powder in a timely manner so I went out and hunted down the individual spices to make the blend myself - the hardest thing to get was fenugreek seeds! I had never even heard of them before this but they smelled great! Definitely worth the trouble. And the curry itself had a wonderful, thick texture and was incredibly flavorful. The spicy from the peppers and the sweetness from the pineapple worked really well.

September 1312

Life continued on. Joan adored making things with her hands and since the queen told her to spend less time travelling, she got to spend plenty of time in her little workshop.

Some people would think a woman of her station woodworking was unseemly, but she didn't care. She woodworked, made candles, cross-stitched. . . Anything to do with her hands, she would do it.

As she finished up her sculpture, she had to pause. She felt strangely lightheaded. She tried to shake the feeling off, but even a little shake of her head made the world start spinning and her eyesight start to blur. Spots appearing in her vision, making the world slowly but surely become dark.

She could have called for her husband, but he was at the castle working with the queen. They were having a war meeting. Her children, other than Abigall were off with their tutors....

She managed to get herself up the stairs and into bed, curled up on her side with her hand on her stomach. If this happened again, she would go to the physician.

But for now, she's going to take it as normal pregnancy symptoms. After all, she's been unable to hold food down. Some dizziness is to be expected... right?
