I very much enjoy watching my friends go from “what? People ship them?” To “ooohhh THATS why people ship them. Okay I can see it.”
Like SasuNaru was easy. I just needed to show people the insane shit Naruto would say in shippuden, and the two fights he and Sasuke had.
And then with TaiShiro, it was just like, showing parts of the sub, dub and novels. Oh and let’s not forget Our War Game and every interaction they have in Adventure 2020. And that one panel from the manga.
And with DaiKen? Literally just watch 02. Dub or sub, doesn’t matter. Just watch it and you’ll understand.

look i understand if people just don't like the idea of billford, i think we have a different internal concept of what shipping means (they're not good for each other at all but i need to dissect their dynamic like a bug. you understand. it's fun) but it's fine to avoid things you don't like, good for you genuinely
however people saying they like. don't see it. like. i'm not saying there's no platonic way to read it, i'm aroace spec myself i'm all for reading things in different ways. but i do think saying they weren't partners in any queer sense at all is trying too hard to go against what the narrative is trying to say, or missing it. somehow
anyway media literacy time if a character makes a joke like this
and the previous context of that joke within the show is that it's about an ex wife. what connection do you think the text is trying to get you to make.
and that's just from a writing point of view. not even noting that from an in universe perspective ford likely knows the joke from the same source as stan. and is therefore. placing himself in that role of the joke are you seeing where i'm coming from
(not to mention bill's side of this text which is. extremely manipulative but also does not read very platonic. again, it can technically be read as platonic! bill literally can manipulate ford's feelings. but the specific wording used is very much meant to look like possessive ex partner wording whether the character means it that way or not. it's coding. look again i'm not saying it was good for them i'm just saying there was something there.)
and then there's also the divorce/break up/rock bottom input on the website. like. how else is that supposed to be read. and the corresponding page in the book itself.
the language being used here. like yes he's saying it in a joking way but then there's the other side that isn't joking which is him crying at the bar. it's the both sides (the very coded language on top of the very genuine emotions and dynamic beneath)
i know most of us are on the same page with this i've just seen a couple people saying they don't see it when this is some of the most clear cut coding i've ever seen. and these are just the things that explicitly reference a relationship off the top of my head i'm not even including the general vibes of Everything
tl;dr it's barely even subtext anymore it's all but straight up text. what's not clicking have we forgotten what coding is (lighthearted i just enjoy the phrase what's not clicking. what's not clicking)

So you're saying I should pay double what I currently pay to get:
1 png
1 chance a month to use a feature I never use
an upgrade to a limit i've never hit
and access to things that were previously available to me
I dunno bud. I like supporting this site but this is pretty transparent!

there is a difference between being born to a throne, maliciously vying for a throne, stealing a throne, and having a throne thrust upon you when you are already in the midst of an identity crisis. And I fear Loki's place in the line of succession has people unable to differentiate between any of these

Hello! I hope I won't sour your mood with this ask but I have been thinking a lot about your gay dogs this month especially.
I'll just try to keep the context short but in general I'm someone that has accepted being romantically undesireable. It was hard but in the end I have built my life just around me, my humble family and at this point in time I don't even think I have the time for a partner. And considering that it's the love month and a lot of people are preparing to celebrate it with their SOs I assumed that, actually, this is a thing that I sort of have in common with Machete.
From the miscellaneous lore on your profile I see Machete as someone that also has kind of rejected love. That also has built his life around his job, possibly hobbies, his family or mentors (depending if we're talking about canon or modern au). Who kind of forgot that relationships are a thing and that people bond with others in that way. Well, at least he did until meeting Vasco.
I just love thinking about their awkward beginnings. Machete being 100% sure that Vasco is just joking, maybe even sometimes teasing him (in a friendly banter type way) or just explaining to himself that all that kindness and interest is just him being a very considerate friend. And then we have Vasco that just tries to be subtle, as if he was trying to pass a fawn without it noticing and running away, but also with time gains confidence and tries more risque moves. Vasco being all smug and Machete being flustered when their hands or shoulders or tails brush in passing. And then when both are sure of their feelings we have Machete who has to choose between God and his love. Who, at first, unwillingly accepts that divine wrath will be worth their brief love.
I just love your boys. I swear they are all the love supply one might possibly need
Thank you for such a long and thoughtful message! I don't know why you thought you might accidentally sour my mood, I'm utterly delighted whenever I hear that someone has been pondering my little guys (rotating them in their head, as they say), and when they go through the trouble of sharing their findings and conclusions I'm so happy I could crawl up a wall.
I think you deciphered Machete's inner workings very well, especially those of the original canon version. The concept of love is of course prominent in Christianity, so even as a kid being raised in a religious environment that discouraged overt displays of affection and close personal bonds, Machete wasn't completely alienated from it. But it has always been a nebulous, unperceivable and unattainable thing for him. When he was old enough to lock down his career choice he readily accepted he'd never have romantic relationships, spouse or a family, and I think he must've been too young and socially inexperienced to think of it as a significant loss. Either he consciously blocked out the need for companionship by studying and working like his life depended on it, or he didn't really consider that being genuinely befriended, appreciated and loved as a person instead of a respectable and competent authority figure was even an option for him, at least not until Vasco came along.

Tim's First Pride! 🌈 ✨
I think he would be a little uncomfortable in the beginning, but he'd be very glad he went!!
Bonus sketch of a post-Pride Tim featuring his sister, Josephine, who pushed him to attend in the first place (and another sketch of accidentally bumping into a familiar face):

One thing about me is that you're not gonna catch me telling people to "get some reading comprehension" or telling people to "go reread the book" because as someone who did read the words on the page and references them quite often, ACOTAR is insanely contradictory and it all depends on what the reader chooses to latch onto.

DP x DC (Or Marvel) Prompt: Pirate of the Underworld
(Again, this can work for either and I have no issues people changing up which Fandom they use because they're both good)
Youngblood was a great kid and that would never change. That being said he was a Ghost kid with a huge imagination and because he was a kid a lot of ghosts would play with him. Not normally a problem until Youngblood, Ember, Skulker, Kitty and Johnny decided to 'play' together in an alternate dimension after going through a natural portal!
But there they were, continuing to play and raise hell for a dimension who had little to no experience with the Ghost Zone. Thankfully, Danny had plenty of experience dealing with all of them, and while he wasn't used to it being so public he wasn't about to let the five (six counting Youngbloods bird-thing) torment this new dimension.
Now if only the heroes from this dimension would stop trying to interfere.
----
The last thing Bruce expected to see in the Gotham Harbor was a massive glowing pirate ship that seemed to rise up out of the ocean itself before sitting in shore. He also didn't expect flying figure's to start taking 'treasures' from all throughout the city. Gold, jewels, people, anything they could get their hands on.
His city was in trouble, that's all he knew and he wasn't going to stand for it.
Now if only this weird white haired meta would stop trying to interfere and let him and his team do their jobs.

The thing that's so endearing to me about the fact that Jess was obsessed with Almost Famous is that... There's something so earnest and idealistic about this film. Like, at its core, it's about people who love music (or even writing about music) and about people who are searching for something that's real, trying to figure out how to be honest with each other and with themselves, and longing for a genuine connection with other human beings. And everyone gets a happy ending! They all end up better as people from having been on this journey together. The pain and the love is all incredibly sincere, and while there are certainly humorous moments, there is nothing flippant here. And yeah, ultimately, all of that very much fits with who Jess ends up being as a person in the long-run, but the fact that this was his favorite movie in Season 3 just confirms to me that this is who he has always been, all along.
